Things to do in Sendai @ Sendai Royal Park Hotel [The Newlywed Game] 仙台ロイヤルパークホテル - Duration: 14:51.

-Hi, I'm Kate.

-I'm John Mark

-Thank you for coming back to our channel.

Today we are doing a sponsored video.

-Yeah we were recently invited by the Sendai Royal Park Hotel to come share in some of their experiences

and give our feedback as foreigners.

So we thought it would be fun to take those experiences at Sendai Royal Park Hotel

and play a game with them... with some high stakes.

Some high stakes.. I think today's stakes are actual steaks,

a chocolate shake,

so steaks and shakes

and doing the dishes.

-Yeah I mean like when you're married for two years like us and

that's... that's real stakes.

-Especially the real steaks part; those are really steaks.

We have five rounds and each round is a different category.

-For each round we will both take turns trying to guess each other's answer.

-I will always guess wrong.

-Tchyeah, that's probably me actually.

But you are going down.

-We'll see.

-Our first category is a Wow Moment.

So we should Rock Paper Scissors

to see who we're guessing for first.

Ahhh, I win!

So we're guessing for Kate first.

[Tongue Clicking Sound]

On your mark, get set, go!

I said...

Kate liked the illumination.

Ah you're correct! [Cheers] I put lanterns.

Lanterns... it counts!

John mark was correct. He guessed my answer.

He gets one point.

Currently at the Sendai Royal Park Hotel

There's a beautiful setup of lanterns and illuminated Christmas lights

That is up til March, so if you have a chance to visit during the holiday season that's

when we most recommend it.

I would also recommend if it snows try to go when it snows.

I know it'd be a little bit of a trek to get there I think would be very much worth it to see it in the snow.

Now it's my turn. Kate now has to guess for me.

せえの

I said the illumination, too.

HAHHA!

-One point, one point! -Tie game!

Round two, ファイト

The next category is:

So we're still guessing for Kate first.

I said she would take her friends and family to the tee time and shopping at the mall.

That would be one point for me!

I mean that sounds like me, but I did choose the glamping experience.

The glamping dining experience is unique to Sendai Royal Park Hotel.

It takes place right behind the hotel in its lovely garden.

inside a large tent you'll find a kotatsu table which is a Japanese style dining table

that sits low to the ground with a blanket that comes out from all

sides and a heating element underneath said table.

-It's so comfortable.

Also inside the tent you will have seating cushion as well as blankets to keep warm.

Which we didn't really need too much, but it was kind of fun to be cozy.

There are additional dining options, so I think that if you follow

the link below to the hotel itself you'll be able to see what all you can

partake in that night.

Now we're guessing for me.

What'd you say?

Happy Hour!

oh I also said the Horoyoi which is the same thing.

Horoyoi means tipsy in Japanese or loosely translates to tipsy.

They had a happy hour spread in the evening with three different sakes that were

very high quality, a couple different kinds of wines including a Yuzu wine--

that was very tasty, a local whiskey actually all of these were local as well

as my favorite things which were the Hoya, or the sea squirts or the sea pineapple,

as well as the gyuutan jerky or cowtongue jerky.

I think those were my favorite parts about that.

They were very tasty... way more than I thought theywould be.

I'm in the lead!

Katelyn's in the lead!

3-1

Will she win?

The third category is

There was kind of like a lot of great food, so this might difficult.

Guessing for me again.

The macaroons from tea time...

yeaaaaaaaah, you must've seen it on my face.

They were pretty good.

Yes, I really did enjoy the tea you the tearoom.

The tearoom is over from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and some of those time slots even have live

music which we hope to go back and enjoy some time soon.

While we were there

though we got to have an entire array of coffee and tea and juices as well as

enjoy all of the fingers foods that we could ever want.

I believe that it goes by like

hour slots and you're allowed to eat as much as you want within that time.

It was really fun!

I think they also have set meals, too, like set meals you can order. They bring out like at tray

tower of roll cakes, sponge cakes, macaroons, different kind of pastries -

favorite food for me...

2

go

Glamping! -ah, I thought you liked breakfast!

Well, breakfast was very good. I mean, they had an omelette bar they had a lot of different things

and that whole double coffee machine..

..but I like the glamping food the best.

We had a

cow tongue sushi, we had a nice salad, I think we had nabe with which is a stew

made with a bunch of local tofu vegetables as well as mostly total two

meats except for the sausage which was American

actually oh we also had a really good dessert kind of like a parfait very nice

that wasn't us the whole atmosphere wiping was my favorite food

three-two-three number for this category is what can you not wait to do again oh

me too ah I figured haha boy so yeah since I'm the one oh great Ashley talked

about it thank you it was very we went to Kumagai mushroom

farms where we got to pick shiitake mushrooms fresh off of the logs

literally fresh off the logs it was beautiful they taste so good cool guys

son was obviously very very passionate about what he does in tech he's what a

11th century he's eleventh generation mushroom farmer on the same plot of land

you know just about a thousand years his family has been farming mushrooms on the

same place that's pretty cool we got to be in the not quite green

house but it was a shaded green house which was beautiful as well as in the

forest where he grows it more outside and sometimes he loses some of the crops

like bears doors it was very fun it's very commented and famous in this

area and the local time even given him

yeah the mushroom guy you can't get his mushrooms in stores you have to either

find the local market in his town or you can go to many of the local restaurants

that source their to locally they have his mushrooms

sendai Royal Park Hotel has one two three four different restaurants and

they all use his mushrooms aim category but now we're guessing for John Mark and

at the moment he's in the lead okay are you ready yeah yeah it was just so fun

oh and the mushrooms were so tasty we got mrs. cool guys on I want you with

golly mr. guy son made us dried mushrooms as well as fresh mushrooms and

they both tasted amazing I think it turns one of our friends into a mushroom

licker yeah not a mushroom lover but at least

like I can eat mushrooms now we're to the final category but right now we're

tied four to four and I think we should say that way to get away with it so if

you are the loser shit you not only have to make steaks and shakes you also have

to do the dishes and you don't want to do the laundry either so do the dishes

and the laundry yeah sure my chore right now is the dishes and Caitlyn's joy is

the laundry that makes it interesting so the last category that we are entering

in and guessing for me first is best for

ready go astronomy yeah so as soon as we walked

through all of the Christmas lights and we saw the lanterns we were introduced

to this man who was there on weekend nights we can meet he has a telescope

set up he also has he's very cool almost like opera glasses that he has

made so that you can see the stars better without having to use people

telescope you can look wherever you want it's very nice

kind of like mini miniature binoculars yes he was very informative

he knew the Japanese English names of constellations he could tell us how far

away many of the stars were that's available only to people actually stay

at the hotel unlike most of the other experiences we've talked about so far

they're open to the public with the reservation okay so that gave you a

point ready go I said the lights stargazing the fire pit in Atlanta well

I didn't get any of those any of them no I give you our options

I said mushroom picking oh that would be a great dig - they'll be so fun that's

like the adventure kind of date but I know you and I think you would like this

better oh I didn't know if you forget one six

points

what's up taking a shit and this is why I'm the loser but before we in this

video there's one experience that we haven't got to talk about yet and that

is morning yoga experience but while I was looking online on their website I

noticed that there are some other options throughout the year so many

pictures again so besides the morning yoga sometimes they offer night yoga by

candlelight oh yeah like outdoors romantic yoga yeah

and they also offer like after yoga yoga it kind of like changes throughout the

year depending on the weather also what's available so normally the morning

yoga would be held in a very nice banquet hall that's supposed to be very

beautiful but it's also one of their wedding venues so the day we were there

there was a wedding and we didn't get to have it there instead we had any smaller

banquet room that didn't quite look like your normal yoga room and but it was

worked perfectly there was no problem with it in fact there were even yours

yeah they were actually I kind of really enjoyed like the room oh I really

enjoyed yoga actually it was my first time doing a different set okay so I'm

the loser I guess I asked the winners maybe I can postpone the winnings until

this weekend and I have to go shopping for sets taken taking shape thank you so

much for watching stay tuned every Saturday for another new video all hail

the weapons

Family of Kenneka Jenkins sues Rosemont hotel over her death in freezer, asks for dollar 50M judgme

The mother of Kenneka Jenkins, the young woman from Chicago who was found dead in a freezer at a Rosemont hotel, has filed a long anticipated lawsuit against the hotel, its security contractor and even a restaurant that allegedly was renting the space where Jenkins was found.

The lawsuit contends the defendants — the Crowne Plaza Chicago OHare Hotel, Capital Security and Investigations and the Murray Bros. Caddyshack restaurant — were negligent for failing to secure the freezer, located in an unused kitchen, and for failing to conduct a proper search when Jenkins went missing from a party.

The family is seeking a judgment in excess of dollar 50 million, the lawsuit says.

Jenkins, 19, disappeared in the early morning of Sept. 9, 2017, after attending a party held in a room of the Crowne Plaza. Her family came looking for her, but authorities didnt find her body until 20 hours later. Surveillance video released by police showed Jenkins stumbling through the hotels hallways until she ended up in the kitchen, rounding the corner where the freezer was kept.

An autopsy report from the Cook County medical examiners office concluded that Jenkins died of hypothermia, with alcohol and a drug used to treat epilepsy and migraines significant contributing factors.

A spokesman for the Crowne Plaza said in a statement that the hotel would fight the lawsuit.

The death of Kenneka Jenkins was a tragedy, but the proximate cause of her death were the unsavory individuals who used a stolen credit card to book a room and host an illegal party which Ms. Jenkins attended, he said. Those criminals escaped the hotel before police arrived and have never truly been held accountable. This lawsuit has no merit and we will vigorously contest it.

Representatives of the security company and the restaurant did not return requests for comment. Jenkins mother, Tereasa Martin, did not respond to a phone message, and her attorney declined comment.

The lawsuit contains new claims about the circumstances of Jenkins death. It says the hotel had other walk in freezers that were kept locked and inaccessible to the public. The one in which Jenkins was found was not only unsecured but had a sticker affixed that was completely faded and failed to instruct how to release the lock system of the door, the lawsuit contends.

Rosemont police found in their investigation that the door could not be opened from the inside unless a circular handle was pushed to release the latch. The mechanism appeared to be working properly, police said.

The lawsuit also claims that Jenkins passed several hotel employees while she was wandering the hallways.

Had Crowne Plaza defendants and employees and/or agents of defendant Capital Security properly intervened when they observed Jenkins visibly disoriented, confused and lost within their premises, they would have prevented her from entering the abandoned kitchen and prevented her death, it says.

The lawsuit blames the security company for failing to stop the party Jenkins attended before wandering away. Dozens of people were hanging out in a room meant for just four guests, a smoke detector had been disabled and the odor of strong intoxicants was evident, it says.

If security guards had promptly broken up the party, the lawsuit contends, Jenkins would not have died.

The lawsuit claims the hotel and security company also did not review security camera footage with sufficient speed after Jenkins went missing. That alleged lack of urgency sparked weeks of protests outside the hotel and contributed to .

Though the Murray Bros. Caddyshack restaurant didnt open until April, about seven months after Jenkins died, a news release from the company indicates it signed a deal in July 2017 to lease space in the hotel. The lawsuit says the restaurant should have secured the kitchen and made sure the empty freezer was turned off.

The Beam Legal Team in Chicago filed the lawsuit, but a lawyer for the firm said the case will be handled by prominent Michigan attorney Geoffrey Fieger, best known for representing the late right to die advocate .

Family sues hotel where Kenneka Jenkins died in freezer for $50M - Duration: 10:06.

The family of a drunk 19-year-old who died of hypothermia inside a walk-in freezer has sued the hotel where she died for $50 million

The suit filed on Tuesday accuses the Crowne Plaza Chicago O'Hare Hotel of negligence in the September 2017 death of Kenneka Jenkins in Rosemont, a suburb of Chicago

Though the case attracted suspicion of foul play even after surveillance video showed Jenkins stumbling through the hotel in a drunken stupor, the medical examiner ruled that she had accidentally died after becoming stuck in the freezer

Even the release of graphic photos of Jenkin's body did not quell the family's suspicions, with an attorney for the family claiming the images raised more questions than answers

Woman, 27, sues Royal Caribbean for $1MILLION after her. Share this article Share The lawsuit contains new claims about the circumstances of the death of Jenkins, who was partying at a room in the hotel and had been using alcohol

The suit claims that the hotel had other walk-in freezers which were kept locked and were not accessible to the public

The freezer Jenkins was found dead in was not only unsecured but had 'a sticker affixed that was completely faded and failed to instruct how to release the lock system of the door,' the lawsuit contends, according to the Chicago Tribune

Police investigators found that the interior mechanism to release the door from the inside was working

The only way to open the door from the inside was to push a circular handle to release the latch

Rosemont police found in their investigation that the door could not be opened from the inside unless a circular handle was pushed to release the latch

The mechanism appeared to be working properly, police said. A spokesman for the Crowne Plaza told the Tribune in a statement that the hotel would fight the lawsuit

'The death of Kenneka Jenkins was a tragedy, but the proximate cause of her death were the unsavory individuals who used a stolen credit card to book a room and host an illegal party which Ms

Jenkins attended,' he said. 'Those criminals escaped the hotel before police arrived and have never truly been held accountable

This lawsuit has no merit and we will vigorously contest it.'  The Cook County Medical Examiner's autopsy report showed that Jenkins died from accidental hypothermia

Police also released dozens of reports and witness statements filed in this case, in an apparent effort to dispell some of the conspiracy theories that were swirling around Jenkins' death

According to documents obtained by Chicago Tribune, Jenkins was found by a Crowne Plaza staffer lying face down on her side inside a freezer located in a kitchen that was not in use by the hotel at the time

The kitchen was equipped with a motion-activated camera that had not turned on until Jenkins' body was found on September 10

One of Jenkins' shoes was off and there were no visible injuries to her body, except for a small cut to her foot

Initially, hotel administrators only checked footage recorded by surveillance cameras at entrance and exit points, and only later reviewed footage from the hallways

Police records show that Kenneka's mother, Tereasa Martin, twice refused to allow investigators to conduct a forensic analysis of her daughter's phone, saying that she had looked through its contents herself and found nothing suspicious

Friends who attended that ill-fated party at the hotel with Jenkins reported getting death threats from people who suspected them of harming the 19-year-old

One of the partygoers said the harassment stemming from Kenneka's death had prompted her to relocate to another city

A toxicology screening found evidence that Kenneka Jenkins had used alcohol and topiramate, a prescription migraine and epilepsy medication that can cause drowsiness and confusion, but no illegal narcotics were found in her system

Jenkins' mother said her daughter had not been prescribed any medications. The medical examiner ruled that Jenkins died accidentally of hypothermia due to cold exposure in the freezer, with intoxication a significant contributing factor

The victim's friends reported seeing her drink cognac at the party, and her blood alcohol level was found to be above the legal limit for driving in Illinois

Speculation about foul play had swirled on social media in the aftermath of the unusual death, with local activists and family members insisting that investigators were covering something up

Surveillance video was released showing Jenkins stumbling around the hallways and kitchen of the hotel where she was found dead inside of the walk-in freezer hours later, cooling suspicions

Video shows the teen leaving the elevator alone at 3.20am then struggling to maintain balance as she navigates the hallways

She was at the hotel the night of September 8 for a party with friends on the ninth floor

Jenkins was officially reported missing on the next day at 1pm and found dead in the freezer September 10 at 1am

Though the footage doesn't show the moment Jenkins enters the freezer, authorities believe she did when she walked out of the frame

In a 911 recording made after Jenkins vanished but before she was found, her mother tells a dispatcher that she fears her daughter has been drinking after speaking to her friends

Martin said 'one cup is too much for her' and asks if detectives can get the hotel surveillance video

But the dispatcher tries to allay her concerns and assures her that Jenkins will probably turn up

The family filed a missing persons report at  1.15pm, at which time the hotel searched for Jenkins but failed to find her

It was only after the teen's parents went to the hotel herself at 6pm that staff phoned police, a second search was mounted and her body was found

WNYC Ivanka Trump involved in negotiations for Trump Hotel rentals during inauguration - Duration: 3:53.

WNYC Ivanka Trump involved in negotiations for Trump Hotel rentals during inauguration

President Donald Trumps inaugural committee spent funds on hotel rooms and meals at the Trump International Hotel in Washington DC and also rented space there at rates negotiated partly by Trumps daughter and adviser Ivanka Trump, WNYC and ProPublica reported Friday.

Federal prosecutors in New York are investigating the committee for possible financial abuses related to the more than $100 million in donations it raised, people familiar with the matter have told CNN.

Inauguration organizers held events at the Trump International, then newly opened in a federally owned property just blocks from the White House

The hotel, a favorite hangout for Trump administration officials and associates, has lately been the focus of renewed scrutiny.

The attorneys general of Maryland and the District of Columbia have subpoenaed the Trump organization and related entities for tax and business records relating to the hotels business as part of a suit claiming that Trump, who has retained his interest in the Trump Organization, is in violation of a constitutional ban on the President receiving payments from foreign or domestic governments.

The Trump administration filed an appeal in federal court Friday to block those subpoenas.

The Washington Post has reported that a Saudi-backed veterans group booked nearly 500 nights at the hotel in the months after Trumps inauguration.

Inaugural committee organizers complained to Ivanka Trump that the hotel was attempting to charge $175,000 per day for use of a ballroom and other meeting rooms, according to internal communications.

Committee leader Stephanie Winston Wolkoff emailed Ivanka Trump, then still an executive with the Trump Organization, to argue that the maximum rate should have been $85,000 a day, noting that events were for Trump -- referred to as "PE," or President-elect.

"These are events in PEs honor at his hotel and one of them is with and for family and close friends," Wolkoff wrote in an email published by WNYC.

Emails obtained by WNYC and ProPublica include a message in which then-deputy inaugural chairman Rick Gates thanks Ivanka Trump for her help negotiating rates.

Its not clear how much the inauguration committee ultimately paid.

Peter Mirijanian, a spokesman for Ivanka Trumps ethics lawyer, told WNYC that she delegated the negotiations with the inaugural committee to "a hotel official" and directed they be conducted at a "fair market rate."

A Trump Organization spokeswoman did not respond to a request for comment from CNN.

An inaugural committee spokeswoman told WNYC that the group "is not aware of any pending investigations and has not been contacted by any prosecutors. We simply have no evidence the investigation exists."

One person familiar with the matter told CNN that the investigation into the inaugural committee is in the early stages, with investigators generally focused on whether any inauguration money was misspent.

The investigation was first reported Thursday by The Wall Street Journal.

The New York Times also reported Thursday night that federal prosecutors are looking into whether people from foreign countries -- specifically Middle Eastern countries including Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates -- funneled potentially illegal donations via surrogate donors to both the inaugural fund and a pro-Trump super PAC in efforts to buy "influence over American policy."
