News on Youtube Dec 3 2018

Hey guys and welcome back to my channel

So today I'm going to be talking to you the two winter jackets that I've been wearing non-stop

Thank you guys so much for tuning in today for those of you that are new on here

Welcome to my channel

I make weekly videos based on my vegan lifestyle dairy and egg allergy

Fashion beauty and so much more they come out every Sunday morning and Thursday evenings. So stay tuned. Don't forget to Like share and subscribe

I'll leave the rest of my social media platform likes down below. So you guys can come and say hi

so if you guys have been following me on Instagram and a lot of you know that I got and you winter jacket that's

cruelty free and vegan

from the company noise

And what with something a little bit more different and what with something that's somewhat casual kind of looks like a hoodie

But still has a full leather look to it on the sides. So although it does look casual. You could definitely dress it up

So so far here in Toronto we have gotten down to about what minus 15 with the winds

10 minus 10 which to me feels like minus 40, but so far. This jacket has been keeping me really warm

I think anybody that's been making the transition to a vegan

lifestyle has had that doubt of

how warm they're gonna see in their winter jacket just because we've been so brainwashed and thinking that down is the only thing that's gonna

Keep you warm

So I was one of those people that was a little afraid of how this check it was gonna be working out for me

I've spent a lot of hours outside in the cold. I take the bus to and from work

I did the anonymous for the voiceless March wearing this jacket, which was what three hours outside and the cold and the freezing cold

I think that was like one of the first cold days so far this year and if it wasn't for that jacket

I probably would have froze to death

The only thing I was missing is gloves

But just keeping my hands in my pocket the whole time kind of did it?

I will say though that the other day I wore a t-shirt with it and I was standing outside for maybe like a good

45 minutes and I could definitely see how maybe under 40 I could feel a little bit of

Cold seeping through the faux leather part of the jacket, but keep in mind

I was also just wearing a t-shirt and I was out there for almost an hour

I think that once it hits minus 40 and you're bundled up wearing scarves and sweaters. You should be fine

The only thing that kind of doesn't fit well on me is the chest part which is totally okay

But I don't know if it's just because I lack there or if they didn't like that

Purposely so you could bundle up a scarf in there because once I put a scarf under there it's perfect

although the zipper does go all the way to the top kind of like a

Turtleneck and there's no wind that seeps through I still like to wear my scarf underneath

But yeah, I think the jacket gives you really good shape

I really like it, and I'm definitely going to be looking into making another approaches. Not just yet maybe next year

I really like the black one what which has like the faux fur black fur all around it

I just seen so many people

Wearing it that kind of made me not want to get it and that's why I went with this different one

But I swear the more I look at it the more I want it

So maybe that will be a purchase next year

They have a bunch of different styles, whether you're more of a casual girl girly girl or like that diva looking girl

They have it all and I think that their price points are amazing

I previously had a jacket for maritza which had doubt but it cost me I think it was like almost $600

I just couldn't be wearing that anymore. So for this jacket that I purchased it was

275 I think which when you look at the price points, it's actually not that bad

If you're buying a heavy-duty winter jacket, that's meant to be worn for like long hours outside

It's gonna cost you some money and so far

This one has done that for me, especially with that three hour March that I did outside in the freezing cold

So I think at 275 to almost $600 and it still keeps you warm. The prices are great

I think that's pretty much as high as they go and I've seen one that's like $300

But they do have jackets that are at a lower price point

I mean you can check out their website and see what works out for you

So because I felt like I went with something that was a lot more of a casual jacket

I do like to dress up

I don't have a date night

Jacket or something just to wear out to an event or just when I feel like dressing up a little bit more

I feel like I just wanted to have a jacket for that type of stuff as well. So I found this one from Zara

It's all faux leather and it's faux fur inside. It goes all the way in so it keeps you really really warm

It's definitely more of a statement jacket. Very trendy. I love it

I actually wanted this jacket last year and then I thought I was gonna see it everywhere

So I kind of held back this year when I saw it out at Zara at a really good price point

I just had to get it especially with like discounts that they have been having lately with Boxing Day

And I'm sure they're gonna have even more for the Christmas holidays

It's a perfect time to start transitioning your wardrobe to a cruelty free one. So I was eyeing in and eyeing it forever

I went into this store. I checked it out in person. I showed it to Gabriel and I bought it online

I have been loving it. It actually is really

the fact that the fur inside goes all the way around my world was just a t-shirt underneath on Friday night to go to the

Movies with my sister and it kept me so warm and in the movie theater

I kind of used it like a blanket. It's just so cozy. It's such a beautiful jacket

I think that's a jacket that I'm gonna hold on to for years. It's just a good classic to have in your wardrobe

So I went with a size medium. I did kind of want it a little bit oversized

I think if it's really really well you can wear it open

That's how I've been wearing it lately or you can even close it up. It still looks pretty cute like that

I like that. It has a little buckle at the bottom or you can do that up as well

The sleeves have a little bit of a cuff with the first L around it

I also like that you can really dress this up and make it look really luxurious and like a really nice expensive

statement jacket

But you could also wear it a little bit more casual if you're just going around running errands and you still want to keep warm

When you're wearing your track pants and just a MIDI underneath

I think this is a type of jacket that you could just throw on and it will make the look for anything

So yeah

those are the two new jackets that I have purchased and that I've really really been liking I really wanted to do this review because

When I was looking at to transition and buying a cruelty-free jacket, I didn't really know which company to go with

I almost did like a poll on social media and the amount of options that there are out

there is

Amazing and these are the two that I just so happen to go for if you have any more questions about how they might fit

Let me know down below and I'll respond to every single one of your comments

also

Check out my Instagram because I will be posting a lot of different looks with these jackets on how I style them and yeah

I think that's it for this video. Thank you guys so much for watching

And I'll see you at the next one

Leaving Cert students review of TheMathsTutor.ie - Duration: 2:13.

My name is Jessica and I've just finished my Leaving Cert. By using TheMathsTutor.ie

I was able to get the grade I needed to get my first choice: biomedical engineering

in NUI Galway. I loved how the videos clearly went

through everything step by step, I found it so easy to follow, so straightforward and

if there was anything I was finding a little bit more difficult, the videos

were always there for me to re-watch. All the videos and revision questions are

arranged according to topic which honestly saved me so much time coming up to the exams.

Hi my name is Cillian. I used TheMathsTutor.ie to

help with my Leaving Cert. Without a doubt I would recommend TheMathsTutor

to any student. For me I found TheMathsTutor to be much more preferable than

grinds would be. With a grind you're spending anywhere up to €50

for only one hour's help. TheMathsTutor for €99 you're getting help

for the entire year. TheMathsTutor covered all aspects of the course in a

series of short videos with the most helpful section that I found was the

past exam question section. In this section you have actual maths teachers

doing past exam questions and explaining exactly what they're doing and why

they're doing it and for me that was just so helpful. I think it's great how

the system lets you learn at your own pace something that's not exactly

possible to do in school when the teachers are struggling to get the course

finished. Coming up to my exams I used TheMathsTutor.ie every week and this

helped me to improve my grade from the mocks which I was so delighted about. I've

already recommended it to my friends who are going into sixth year this year

because for me it was such an amazing help and I'd recommend it to anyone who

wants to do well. When exam season came having such an extensive support network

readily available was incredible. There's an online forum where you can ask any

question you want, maths related, and an actual maths

teacher will answer your question and set you up with

resources so that you can help and improve in that particular area. I think

it's such great value for the amount of content and features available. If you're

trying to decide between paying for weekly grinds or joining the system,

TheMathsTutor.ie is the obvious choice.

Samsung Gear Sport Review - Duration: 11:19.

Welcome back to two friends diet, I'm Robin and I'm Heather. Today we are

going to talk about Heather's new toy it is the Gear Sport. Also featured on my

wrist. So, this was a birthday gift and I was really wanting a Smart Watch. I

like gadgets like that. I work food service, so I like to be able to see

what's going on with like my kids and everything like that so like for example,

I just got a Facebook notification, and you can see what it is and you can like

simply delete it. Now I have not had this for very long, but I want to talk

about the health benefits of the watch. So, it is kind of big, as you can see I got

this sport. The sport is 100% waterproof you can swim and all that. That's very

important to me. I wash dishes, I spill like let's be serious. But the size does

not bother me, it's not... size does not matter. No it doesn't in this case. The bigger the better, um so the screens big seriously

but um so you can use this with any phone. I have just an Android phone,

it's like a cheap military-grade one because I drop things a lot. So, you have

the Samsung app on the phone. So, you can set up, it's called Samsung health and on

the app you can set it up and you can, like I've already had 4700 hundred

steps today. You can log your food here on the app, it does your sleep it does

your weight it does everything how many floors you've done um any set of steps

is considered 10 consecutive steps going up you get the flight of stairs but you

can see all on your watch you have this handy-dandy little bezel thing. So like

this is how many calories I've burned today this is how many steps I've had

this is how many floors I've done and it updates all the time. It does your

heart rate as well it's not going to it's trying to measure now but it's not on, so it's not going to be accurate

if you start doing something like for instance we went to Santa train today

and we were dancing around trying to get warm, it will automatically start

logging a workout and then it will say you know you had 14 minutes of a workout

well done! That's awesome! Yeah, so it you can also you can choose

your own workout so you can add a workout and then you can choose like

running, walking, cycling, hiking, swimming, elliptical, exercise bike, step machine

there's there's so many, buy one and look, crunches even things such as that but

then it has the weather. Simple things, like it has Spotify on it

so you can attach your music to and then I have like a Bluetooth earbuds so my

earbuds are attached to the watch so you can download songs if you have Spotify

Premium to the actual watch so you don't even have to have your phone for music

or because it's a Bluetooth connection you can listen to the music from your

streaming device through your through your watch it's Bluetooth so you have to

keep your phone's semi-close. I kind of set it down and go. Calendar you can

create reminders, you can add your contacts, you can store pictures on it

but as far as the health items it's a new tracker for me because I was using

myfitnesspal. So, in order for this to track my calories as well as like my

in verses my, you know, burn I do have to use that, I have not been tracking lately.

Confession. So, it's a little different to adjust to but it's not bad you can track

your water but it is one of those devices that is kind of like an

all-in-one because you know it has the time the date your calendar events for

that busy mom that's really trying to do something it it kind of like it all in one.

Or the busy dad. You can... yeah the busy dad I'm sorry.

um or the busy person, you don't have to be a parent at all to utilize these

because you can actually respond back to messages you can use talk to text or

there's like the t9 from back in the old days and emojis and all of that but it's

it's so cute it's I kind of I feel like I need to name it I haven't yet.

But it, it encourages you, like well done, you're really moving today or

you'll get like an alert through your watch and it'll say you've already

reached your goals how far can you go or it gives you these little encouraging

pick-me-ups. You'll be like, "Well Gidget told me today that I was pergect." Yeah right! Gidget, I like that.

you can buy different bands for it I have not done so yet I don't mind this

one. Black goes with everything. Yeah, it really doesn't like the watch faces black. I like that

it's Pink, did you set that? oh yes there are of course there are so again on the app, not

fitness related, there is a gear galaxy wearable app where you can

add different apps. Oh, we'll have to rate that later. So you have

notifications so you can choose what you want to it to notify you whether you

want your Facebook your Instagram all of those notifications so you can choose

whether you want them to pop up or whether you don't

and then it has oh the Find My iPhone feature that's huge for me so it will

find your phone for you or this will find your phone will find your

watch for you so coz I lose things all the time.

has the Navigator on it so like if you put a destination into your phone you

can put your phone in your back pocket and then as you're driving your watch

tells you where to go just like your phone would and it has like the map on

it. Oh that's nice! Yeah you can choose like

different watch faces so mine has the time and date and my steps and the

weather because those are things like I like to know how many steps I've had I

like to know what the date is because you didn't like that morning I forget it

like three seconds later. I like to know the temperature from like it's 48

degrees you have to wear a coat child and you know that sort of thing

the there are free ones that I've utilized you can also purchase ones if

you want fancy ones you if they go you can cover it to make it go black like if

your movies thearter or something so if you cover it. It

shuts off supposed to shut off. I keep doing something wrong because I

don't know what I'm doing but anyways and if other goes and if

it's black you tilt your wrist and it activates it so like if you're doing

something and you feel you're you know you're watching my rate or whatnot you

can flip it and you can see that oh I got a message for my husband that

there's something going on with my kids or something now there is one downfall

to this watch. I had read it before I purchased it and it can't, it's not

really a down fall. It is just is what It, this only holds charge for

about a day and a half. However, you have to charge your phone every day. It

literally does everything my phone does, it makes phone calls.

I am constantly on it using it doing something with it maybe once it's not so

new because I've had it maybe two weeks maybe it'll hold charge more because I'll

stop playing with it so much but I literally use it all day long as I would my phone in

my phone stays in my pocket for the most time, for the most part, except when I'm

logging my food. You can add how much water you drink on this so you don't

have to get your app out or your phone out for that. I think the only thing I

can't do is log food and I might be able to I just haven't got there yet because

I literally just started logging my food again yesterday because I didn't want to. It is a

little pricey is $179+ it comes with the watch, obviously the band

everything, a charger, an instruction manual but it is probably the best

hundred and seventy nine dollars my husband could have spent. I absolutely,

absolutely love it. They have it also in rose gold, on the outside. If you know you

want something, I didn't, I don't really do rose gold like. So they do offer

a watch face that is rose gold and black and there are accessories that you can

buy to make it more yours like little different things to put on it's too much

work for me. But, I love her. That sounds so cool I think

I'm gonna look into that. You really should. You know I haven't put

it my Christmas wish list yet. I really like it and I like the the food

app like you don't have to, the Samsung health does it, literally does it all. It

does sleep; it does your food; it does your steps; it does the stairs; it does

your calories burn just from your daily being a human being and moving about.

It's very good about how much you've burned, versus how much you've taken in.

I've had a really good luck with logging the food as far as finding items that

I've eaten it's a very user friendly. I've had smartwatches before and you'v had

to like try to sync MyFitnessPal with the SmartWatch and it wasn't, it didn't

really work very well for me so this is all in one little spot. And I think she's

pretty. I like it. I don't feel like, it doesn't look too big I mean when I

first saw it I was like wow that's big but does she show everything that it

does it seems like oh that's not.... I'm always lugging

around that big Iphone 8S or whatever it is so and like in order to read something on

it you you need you know something kind of bigger I mean like a picture of my

kid, like how cool is that? It's not showing it. Oh! A picture my kid,

like how cool is that, like just right there in my watch ,know you're kind

of feeling sad or something. I don't know. We definitely will put a

link to where to buy this, down below so if you're interested check it out.

Bohemian Rhapsody review – Multiplex 10 Movie Minutes - Duration: 2:28.

JASON: Hi, I'm Jason.

KURT: And I'm Kurt!

JASON: Welcome to the "Multiplex 10 Movie Minutes," a spoiler-free movie review series

featuring the staff of the Multiplex 10 Cinemas.

KURT: This week, we're reviewing the big- budget biopic of Freddy Mercury and Queen!

[Music plays. It's not by Queen.]

JASON: Bohemian Rhapsody generated a lot of bad press because of its

massive behind-the-scenes trainwreck of a production—

—which saw credited director Bryan Singer replaced by Dexter Fletcher more than half-way through.

But, more importantly, the movie itself

is also a massive trainwreck.

KURT: Oh, come on. It's not THAT bad.

JASON: It's not that good, either.

KURT: As it turns out, I'm a total sucker for a well-crafted biopic!

As long as it's about someone that interests me, features great music,

and stars that look juuuust enough like the real-life people they're playing

that you can say...

"Sure. I guess...?"

But the biopics that make the biggest impact are the ones that take a unique point of view.

Films like "Jobs," which focused on just three days of Steve Jobs's life—

—or "Lincoln," which focused only on his efforts to pass the 13th Amendment.

They're able to spotlight the drama of the moment while hinting at the bigger picture.

But "Bohemian Rhapsody" wants it all.

ANGELIC VOICE FROM THE HEAVENS (singing): AYYY-YEAH!!!

Instead of trying something daring, it plays the hits,

giving us the whole rise, fall, and redemption formula all over again—

and it works...

...but it doesn't feel special.

JASON: Oh, it feels special.

After school special.

This is barely a film.

It's a collection of scenes that are often ridiculously inaccurate from a historical perspective

and ineffective at giving any of its characters any real depth.

These scenes are glued together by innumerable musical montages,

culminating in a faithful but perplexing re-enactment

of the band's ENTIRE twenty-minute Live Aid performance from 1985.

KURT: The music is awesome, though!

JASON: Of course it is! It's Queen.

But if you care about the STORY of Queen,

you're better off watching a documentary,

and if you're just in it for the music,

watch the ACTUAL Live Aid performance!

It's on YouTube!

[Music plays. Still not Queen.]

KURT: Like and subscribe to make our rockin' world go round!

JASON (disappointed): You can do better than that.

KURT: You'd be our best friend if you liked and subscribed!

JASON: Ehhhhh...

KURT (singing super well): Open your eyes...

Click like and subscribe and see!

JASON (angry-shouting): I said no singing!

KURT (frustrated): Uuuugh....

2011-2014 Mustang GT Corsa Pro5 Closed Box Cold Air Intake Review & Install - Duration: 7:41.

Hey, guys.

Today, we're gonna be taking a look at and installing the Corsa Pro5 Closed Box Cold

Air Intake for 2011 to 2014 GT Mustang.

This is a no-tune required cold air intake, so it's gonna be a great option for those

of you out there who aren't quite ready for a tune yet.

This intake is all about decreasing the restrictions that the stock air box places on the car and

improving airflow.

It has a closed air box design and it maintains the cold air feed from the grille of the car.

It cost about $330.

And I'm gonna call the install a one out of three wrenches in the difficulty meter.

It should take about an hour to get on your car, and of course, we'll show you how to

install it now.

For this install, we used a 3/8-inch drive cordless impact gun, a Phillips head screwdriver,

an 8-millimeter socket, a small extension, and a 10-millimeter socket.

All right, guys.

So, first, we have to get our factory intake uninstalled.

So, first thing we'll do is obviously pop our hood, and I have an 8-millimeter socket

on here.

I like removing the cold air intake all as one piece.

So, I'm gonna remove this all as one piece, air box included.

I'm going to start by loosening our clamp right at the throttle body.

Now, we'll disconnect all of the connections on our intake tube.

So we've eliminated our sound tube, so we only have these two right here.

Go ahead, pull this breather hose right off, and then we'll also disconnect the PCV.

Now, we'll disconnect the electrical connection at our mass air flow sensor.

Keep in mind that there is a red, locking tab on the bottom of this sensor.

So you'll reach around, pull the red tab out, and then disconnect the connection.

The last thing we have to do is unbolt our air box.

It's gonna be this 10-millimeter bolt right here.

All right.

So, now what we're gonna do is remove everything.

So, I'm going to wiggle our intake tube off of the throttle body and I'll remove the entire

air box.

So, before we get our Corsa intake installed, let's take a second and take a look at the

factory intake on the table compared to the Corsa intake.

So, a couple things that I wanted to mention about the Corsa intake, this is all about

low restriction and increasing volume, which are two very good things.

The other thing is that this is a closed air box design, meaning that your air filter lives

inside this air box.

It's not gonna be open to the elements or the heat underneath the hood.

The air box also maintains the direct cold air feed from the grille of the car.

These are two very good qualities, especially when it comes to performance.

So, your air box also minimizes sound too, because a lot of times, you get some additional

sound when you switch over to a cold air intake.

It minimizes sound because your lid, which is right here, has a neoprene backing on it.

Your air filter is also a little bit different than the air filter that comes in the factory

intake.

The air filter in the factory intake is a flat, paper filter.

This air filter is made of synthetic material and it's also reusable, which means that when

the time comes, all you have to do is clean it, re-oil it, and then you can reinstall

it.

Of course, the Corsa is gonna come with everything that you need to complete the install.

Before we get this installed on the car, we do have a couple of things we have to swap

over, mainly our mass air flow sensor, so let's go ahead and do that now.

So, we're gonna use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove our mass air flow sensor from our

intake tube.

You guys may have T20 Torx bit hardware in yours.

This is just what we have in ours.

And then we did get new hardware from Corsa, so we are not going to reuse this hardware.

So, we'll pull our sensor out and then transfer it over.

So, now we're gonna transfer our sensor over into our new intake tube.

Corsa does give you this little gasket.

You're gonna want to make sure that you have that installed in the correct orientation.

So, we're just gonna slide it over our sensor here, and then we'll install the sensor in

the tube and bolt it down using our new hardware.

So, we're gonna keep our new Phillips head screwdriver.

And it can be a little bit tough since these are short, but you're just gonna make sure

that you have everything lined up and then tighten them down.

All right.

So, now we're going to install our air filter onto the adapter inside of our air box, and

you'll need an 8-millimeter socket to tighten the clamp.

So, we'll make sure that our air filter is completely around our adapter here and seated

flush.

Then we'll go ahead and tighten our clamp.

All right.

Now we'll grab the lid and the supplied hardware, we'll need a Phillips head screwdriver for

these.

We'll go ahead and install the lid.

Next, we'll grab our larger coupler, get two clamps on it, and go ahead and slide that

over the adapter on our air box.

From here, we can tighten the clamp on the air box side and we'll leave this clamp loose

for when we go to install our intake tube.

And these are 8-millimeter once again.

All right.

Now, we're gonna install our inlet tube into this coupler, but first, we're gonna put a

clamp on it.

We're gonna leave it, kind of, loose so that we can adjust the tube once we get it in the

car.

All right.

Now we're gonna grab our other coupler with the remaining two clamps, slide that over

the throttle body, and then we can tighten the clamp at the throttle body.

All right.

Now we can get our intake into place.

So, it's gonna sit like this and we do need to make the connection down here with the

cold air feed, so we'll make sure that's in place.

And then this is why we left our clamp loose here on our intake tube.

We can rotate that down and get that in the coupler at the throttle body.

From there, we can go ahead and tighten our clamp up here.

All right.

So, now we'll just make our connections on the intake tube.

And I will say that we eliminated our sound tube on our stock intake, so all we did was

transfer over our cap from the stock intake to our new intake.

If you guys still have the sound tube, all you'll do is plug in your tube.

All right.

So, our mass air flow sensor is located on the other side of our tube, but we have enough

wire to still make the connection.

So, we'll loop our wire around, plug in our sensor, and then make sure we press the locking

tab here.

All right.

Now we'll tighten our last clamp here on the intake tube and that will be all it takes.

All right, guys.

That's gonna wrap up this review and install.

Keep in mind that you can always check this cold air intake out more online right here

at americanmuscle.com.

21 Lessons for the 21st Century by Yuval Noah Harari Book Review - Duration: 7:59.

Hello and HAPPY DAY! Have you reminded yourself to slow down today? To reduce the noise? To

listen? My name is Igor, SF Walker. I am here to remind

people to slow down. To reduce the noise. To walk their lives into a natural flow.

Welcome back to the Book of the Week series. Every week as I read another amazing title,

I share it with the world. Today we look at: 21 Lessons for the 21st Century by Yuval Harari

An amazing look at the world we lived in, we live in and world that is just around the

corner. Harari is taking us on a journey, both external and internal. In part I we look

at the technological challenges and within the realms of disillusionment, work, liberty

and equality. In part II we look at the political challenges. What is community, civilization,

nationalism, religion and immigration? What are the roles they play in our lives? Part

III takes us into the arena of Despair and Hope. Here Harari looks at terrorism, war,

humility, God and secularism. As the journey gets closer to the end, in part IV we look

at TRUTH, ignorance, justice, post-truth and science fiction. It all beautifully ends in

part V with resilience where we look at education, meaning and meditation.

At present, humankind is far from reaching any consensus on these questions. We are still

in the nihilist moment of disillusionment and anger, after people have lost faith in

the old stories but before they have embraced a new one. So what next?

In the past, we humans learned to control the world outside us, but we had very little

control over the world inside us. We knew how to build a dam and stop a river from flowing,

but we did not know how to stop the body from aging. We knew how to design an irrigation

system, but we had no idea how to design a brain. If a mosquito buzzed in our ear and

disturbed our sleep, we knew how to kill the mosquito, but if a thought buzzed in our mind

and kept us awake at night, most of us did not know how to kill the thought. Humans were

always far better at inventing tools than using them wisely.

Democracy is based on Abraham Lincoln's principle that "you can fool all the people

some of the time, and some people all of the time, but you cannot fool all the people all

the time."

The questions have for a long time been what to do in order to prevent jobs from being

lost? What to do in order to create enough new jobs? What to do if, despite our best

efforts, job losses significantly outstrip job creation? But at which point to we realize

what we ultimately ought to protect is humans, not jobs?

In a famous interview in 1987, Margaret Thatcher said, "There is no such thing as society.

There is [a] living tapestry of men and women…and the quality of our lives will depend upon

how much each of us is prepared to take responsibility for ourselves."

Unfortunately, at present we are not doing much in the way of research into human consciousness

and ways to develop it. We are researching and developing human abilities mainly according

to the immediate needs of the economic and political system, rather than according to

our own long-term needs as conscious beings. My boss wants me to answer emails as quickly

as possible, but he has little interest in my ability to taste and appreciate the food

I am eating. Consequently, I check my emails even during meals, which means I lose the

ability to pay attention to my own sensations.

Though the challenges are unprecedented, and though the disagreements are intense, humankind

can rise to the occasion if we keep our fears under control and be a bit humbler about our

views. Most people tend to believe they are the center of the world, and their culture

is the linchpin of human history.

Humility, You Are Not the Center of the World.

If you feel overwhelmed and confused by the global predicament, you are on the right track.

Global processes have become too complicated for any single person to understand. How then

can you know the truth about the world, and avoid falling victim to propaganda and misinformation?

How do you live in an age of bewilderment, when the old stories have collapsed and no

new story has yet emerged to replace them?

Who am I? What should I do in life? What is the meaning of life? Humans have been asking

these questions from time immemorial. Every generation needs a new answer, because what

we know and don't know keeps changing.

As a teenager I was restless and troubled. The world made no sense to me, and I got no

answers to the big questions I had about life. In particular, I didn't understand why there

was so much suffering in the world and in my own life, and what could be done about

it. All I got from the people around me and from the books I read were elaborate fictions:

religious myths about gods and heavens, nationalist myths about the motherland and its historical

mission, romantic myths about love and adventure, or capitalist myths about economic growth

and how buying and consuming stuff would make me happy.

I had enough sense to realize that these were probably all fictions, but I had no idea how

to find truth.

MEDITATION Don't do anything. Don't try to control

the breath or to breathe in any particular way. Just observe the reality of the present

moment, whatever it may be. When the breath comes in, you are just aware: now the breath

is coming in. When the breath goes out, you are just aware: now the breath is going out.

And when you lose your focus and your mind starts wandering in memories and/or fantasies,

just remain aware: now my mind has wandered away from the breath. THIS was the most important

thing anybody had ever told me.

The real enigma of life is not what happens after you die but what happens before you

die. If you want to understand death, you need to understand life.

Auburn Sounds Couture Review + Audio Transient Shaping Tutorial - Duration: 15:24.

in this video you're going to learn how to shape audio transients and I'm going

to review Couture by Auburn Sounds. If you're here just for the transient

shaping tutorial then I will put the timecode in the video description and in

the pinned comment so you can skip right ahead of that. For right now I want to

show you guys the paid version of Couture which Auburn Sounds was kind

enough to send me a license. So thanks to them for that and for alerting me to

their plugin because otherwise I wouldn't have thought to do a transient

shaping tutorial. So Auburn Sounds Couture is two plugins in one. On the left side

is the transient shaping part and then on the right here is distortion. And

there are six types of distortion in this plugin to make them more obvious i

turned the drive knob right here all the way up and put it on a synth. So let's

take a listen as I click through the various saturation types.

OK you might be thinking, "Adam you know, I've heard saturation distortion before"

what makes this plugin special?" Well, it's really simple.

In the upper right corner here and I will have to zoom into it because you

can't see it but it says level independent dynamics

Now what does that mean? That means that instead of saturating this plugin like

you normally would and increasing the volume of whatever you are processing it

will just process it and maintain the volume dynamics which should retain most

of the tone of whatever you're processing and that's a very good thing

let me go through the rest of them

I think I already did that one

OK. So...let's talk about the rest of the plug-in now first of all we need to

define what transient shaping is transient a high amplitude short

duration sound at the beginning of a waveform that occurs in phenomena such

as musical sounds noises or speech shaping gerund to make something fit the

form of something else in summary it's all about manipulating the first part of

a sound wave and here's the cool thing about Couture the transient shaper part

of it is absolutely free no strings attached you don't have to create an

account with them as of this recording and it's available in both 32-bit and

64-bit VST 2, Audio Units and AAX platforms. The officially supported

operating systems are Windows Vista and newer along with Mac OS 10.8 and newer

so what makes this plug-in so special just like the distortion part the

transient detector is half spectral, RMS based , 2-band, program dependent and

what all that technical jargon means is that when you alter the controls there

are a lot less surprises than with other transient shaper plugins once again I'm

going to shut up so that you can hear what this thing can do on a variety of

different tracks

That's an example of mangling the audio. OK, so this one's gonna require me just

to bypass this one because I already EQed it and that wouldn't be fair.

OK. So...if you can't really tell what's going on basically the best way to

describe it is we can either add to or remove the beginning of a sound that

transient that's why it's called transient shaping we can do a few other

things with this plug-in besides just that we have a lot more control over it

because the whole idea is that it is finding the exact middle of the highest

amount of energy when it detects something and the reason that these

other controls matter very important ready so first of all when you have it

on the "Human" setting that is using an equal loudness curve which means that it

reacts like the human ear would react now if you want it to behave like most

other transient shapers put it on the "Flat" setting. And finally if you want to

use this as a de-esser plugin for voiceovers and vocals then switch it to

"Sybil" which is shorthand for sibilance. Bass Amt stands for base amount and it

controls how Couture reacts to bass frequencies. To the right we have

important controls probably the most important controls which is why I think

they put it in silver so it's easier to see. Maybe that's not why they did it but

I think it was a good graphic design decision anyway you can limit this to 20

decibels of gain reduction or gain increase so when it's lit up it's on and

then we also have our sharpening knob which controls how transients are shaped.

Positive values are sharper. If the values are negative then it's softens

transients. To the upper right here we have the multiplier buttons and this

allows us to set more extreme settings so if you aren't happy with x1 at the

farthest clockwise setting then you set it back to 12 o'clock hit x2 and then

adjust from there and vice-versa if you're going for negative values. All

right now speed is one that you kind of have to think about a little bit to

understand or kind of--watch this meter but...what it does is how much time after

the transient is detected does this get applied does this effect get applied and

our final control all these controls are equally important by the way because

depending on where you have it set is how the transient is going to be

processed and this control at the 12 o'clock position is spot-on with I

believe the highest part of the transient but if you want to process it

a little bit back from the peak of the transient so that you can then mess with

this speed control...and get a little bit before the maximum

part of the transient or if you want to mess with what's called the sustain then

you could add this all the way over here but it's all about what it sounds like

to your ear and that's...the biggest takeaway from this video is that this is

really not too different from compression. Meaning, although I can tell

you what the controls do you really just need to turn the knobs and press the

buttons yourself because ultimately it's all about trial and error I hate saying

it like that but it's the truth. You need to just adjust and listen sometimes I

like to adjust and close my eyes and make sure I hold down shift so that it's

a fine adjustment but yeah that's all I can say about that the nice thing is

Couture does have this meter and it does show you what's going on but you know

unfortunately if I had one request it would be that you can pause it because

if i pause the track it doesn't stop. It just keeps going but you know like i

said using your ears is the best way to use this plugin and the great thing is

the transient shaping part is free and the way I look at this plug-in is even

if you don't need distortion or saturation if you like what this plug-in

does buy it. Buy it to show your support for the company the best way to learn

how to use this is by using a snare drum recording I wouldn't recommend snare

drum samples and the reason is is because this detector well I'll just put

it this way if you're going to use samples make sure you have some kind of

low level like -75 decibels full scale (dBFS) noise in there along with your

sample because otherwise this detection might not work properly at the more

extreme settings

Many engineers would say that transient designers are essential sound

modifications tools right next to equalizers compressors delay and reverb

I would certainly agree with that now that I have messed around with transient

shaping I understand how powerful it can be and one thing I didn't try this on which

you should is a full mix because if you're having trouble with your drums

standing out it may be able to help. So, Couture can be used not just for

creative reasons but also it's a problem solver. The question is, should you buy it?

Like I said earlier if you like what it can do for shaping transients then just

to show your support for the company I would purchase the full plugin. Or they

have a couple other plugins available right now that you may or may not like

so while you're on their website I would check them out and the great part is no

dongle required! *laughs* It also installed without any problems and when I had a

technical problem with it I got a very quick email response. So what's missing?

Well probably the biggest improvement that I like to see is GUI scaling. There

are issues with using it. You know, there are some words that I can't read because

they're just too tiny so if they added in GUI scaling that

would fix my biggest complaint. Also I don't know if it's super important even

now but VST3 support is something that most plugins should be aiming for if

possible if not then hey you know...The only other thing I could think of is

maybe in the manual put in better descriptions of what the saturation

modes are like maybe some practical examples of

where to use them and also the latency of this plugin is high so you're not

going to be using it while recording these are all minor issues in the grand

scheme of things because Auburn Sounds' claim that this is the "Ultimate

Transient Control" is something I would agree with. It's so easy to use this

plug-in that it feels like cheating. So, if you like saving time when mixing

you should definitely check it out. And if for some reason after you buy Couture

you don't like it they offer a 30 days money-back guarantee. Thanks again to Couture's

developer Guillaume for contacting me to do this review. Thanks for watching

NEW Audi E Tron GT Full Electric Review l This car wil kill Tesla Model S ? - Duration: 18:26.

oh yeah this is the original re in 2007 Disney Hall arrival of Tony Stark at

this event that he then leaves and goes on his first mission

so downtown the architecture of Disney Hall and the emergence of this rebirth

of cool with the Audi brand and I just remember thinking man

the synergy of Marvel and Audi and the way that it panned out it's just

incredible and then the success of the film and it's like these two brands

built off each other and it's been a love affair ever since

and now the e-tron GT which promises to be the most exciting electric vehicle in

history that I'm gonna talk to the guy to Tonica brain oh there you are hey

Mark what's up buddy come on yeah great to see you

what are you doing let's catch you know everything everything sketch right it's

beginning incredible I start sketching when I was a young boy I had a

grandfather who ditched me in perspective and techniques that's why I

starts feeling I was really used to sketch this wheels and everything old

all right you want to see it oh yes the one you have driven in IRA man that's

correct I'll tell you every kid thinks he's a

car designer then my time back in the 70s we were drawing dragsters looking at

rodent rack or Omni magazine showing us where the cars of the future were gonna

be how do you even draw the first line different for an e-tron GT compared to

the one that I've come to know and love first of all we have a designer who

always want big wheels we want to low cabin white a wheelbase wide track and

then you know and then it starts it's the beginning of a process

how do you know we're on it and when do you know where we got to get back on

track you know my philosophy is and this is when I looked on furnitures or

industrial products if if the combination between function and

aesthetic it's perfect in harmony then it's a good product because then it will

be timeless and I always have the mission I want to combine both

functionality with a really really good aesthetic if this is in harmony then I

would say I have a challenge for you I would like you for you to join me in the

e sauna and we're just gonna sit there silently and see who can take it for

longer it's very well lit well yeah I can just feel the infrared energy of

creativity in here

all right I can't take any more will you show me the real thing sure come on such

a pleasure dick we continue is a four-door super sports car better

electric vehicle and I'm honest I did in my career a few cars already some of

them I'm really proud about but I never got the chance to do a car like this and

there is a reason and magic behind why is this car that special if we turn it

to the side view and I like to explain you the reason why this guy is special

for us designers the basis for a good design is a package because the package

creates the architecture of the car and the proportions and these engineers who

did this package they did an awesome job I would say it's it's the best package

for a kind of like this you have to imagine this is a battery electric

vehicle there is a battery black peg located in the flow of the car and there

is the real 4 seater and the seating position even in the rear is enough

space had clearance for a tall guy like me so four seater battery electric

vehicle and the height of the car is 2 inch lower than our s7 don't give him

long the s7 is a beautiful sporty car but this cars 2 inch lower and this is

something which is unbelievable these engineers did really a really a great

job second this car represents our new

design language or not a new one is wrong the new one is a 8 a 7 s6 and this

is the next evolution this car would go to the market in two years time that's

why we're seeing each three year we will have a design step and what's visible

already on our new products or where they are that's one of our genes in our

DNA is Quattro and with the new products like a HQ 8sm we represent our visualize

Quattro in our exterior design on the Audi e-tron GT Quattro is not a blister

anymore Quattro is getting as really three-dimensional very round I

would say really sexy and this is something which we were seen each or all

of our future models if you turn the car to the front end I like to explain to

you why this face is something unique for battery electric vehicles since 2004

when I already got the clever idea to connect the upper air in check with a

lower one and since this time this single frame was born it's this shape

and you know on our IC e models the single frame is a radiator so it's

cooling the engine with underneath on this kind of battery electric car the

heart of the car is not the engine anymore it's a battery pack which is

located over there and that's why we came up with the idea we what don't want

to destroy the Audi face and that's why we invert a single frame by color the

single frame is not a radiator it's the sensoric where all the sensors

underneath and this but this single frame is in body colors in the dark

environment so it's an in a second visible at this is an Audi but a battery

electric one if we turn the car to the rear end the headlights in the front

it's the next evolution this vertical elements within six which is visualizing

our laser light technology and in the end we have a graphic which is matching

perfectly to the front and as you know already from the new i8 a7 and q8 we

introduced our LED light pens in the next evolution this light band is

becoming a sculpture a three-dimensional sculpture and from the rear

there's my favorite perspective because this narrow low cabin the wide body the

round plane shape this is something for me it's a perfect proportion and you

will see that there's a huge diffuser because on this car this is the body of

the car shaped in the wind tunnel because for a battery electric vehicle

the range is one of the most important topics sure and the good a dynamic is

extend the range that's why we create something some really unique details

like the diffuser and this visualize it's an aerodynamic and very very spot

Rikka overall the layout the size and dimension of Eros body like the interior

who came up with the idea to create a very sporty architecture and if you

experienced the car later recognize that the connection between the doors and the

dashboard is a complete new kind of driver annotation and we had already

design we take a sustainability serious that's why we came up with the idea for

a car like this we create a 100% vegan interior that means all the surfaces are

synthetic leathers the fabric on the seat is made from a recycled fiber and

even though the floor carpet has been in the first life a fishing net so

altogether a new kind of sophisticated interior and detail which I like to

mention out this is this huge application now in the past an

application has been pieces which we had on a dashboard in carbon fiber or wood

or aluminum with the 8 and the q8 and the s6 we introduced a new kind of

3-dimensional application that's the next level most of the dashpot I would

say said 70% are the applications so we can create with a different material a

very unique character and I have to say that altogether the Audi each one GT

Concept combines perfectly the aesthetic of a super sports car and the

performance with everyday usability and that's why this car will be coming two

years time the new member of our out a spot family it's matching perfectly to

our eight hour air s models and you know an Audi spot there's everything about

design and performance thank you very much

the power of a sports car shouldn't be measured in miles per hour it should be

measured in beats per minute how much thrills excites leaves you

breathless the power to seize emotions and stir the soul it's part of our DNA

always will be and whether gasoline or electric these machines will forever be

engineered to get your heart racing Wow mark to you and your team thank you for

giving us such a brilliant design that truly embodies the future of performance

for our brand and it's electric the e-tron GT concept accelerates from zero

to 62 in 3.5 seconds and generates 590 horsepower with an approximate range of

250 miles or roughly 400 kilometers the GT delivers electric performance for

everyday use and this is further highlighted through its ultra-fast

charging capability to reach 80 percent charge in 20 minutes

ladies and gentlemen the Audi e-tron GT is a testament to our brands commitment

to premium electrification by 2025 that commitment will account for as much as

30 percent of our volume beginning with the arrival of the e-tron in the second

quarter of 2019 for which we are taking reservations currently continuing with

the debut of the e-tron sport back later next year and putting the e-tron GT into

production in 2020 as the future of electric performance and we couldn't be

more proud to present this masterpiece of design and innovation here in Los

Angeles where it stands out perfectly it is undoubtedly the next supercar for

super here thank you for joining us and thank you

to our incredible team for putting this all together
