For a very brief moment on April 23 when baby Prince Louis was born at the Lindo Wing of St Mary's Hospital in London, the rosy-cheeked Princess Charlotte stole the spotlight.
With a heart-melting smile and a wave of the hand on the steps leading to the hospital, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams argued Charlotte has become an "icon of cuteness".
But the world's attention was still very much focused on the birth of her tiny little brother Louis that day.
However, all eyes should be back on Charlotte this week when she celebrates her birthday with her family.
When is Princess Charlotte's birthday?.
The little Princess stole the hearts of the nation when she was born at 8.
43am on May 2, 2015 at the Lindo Wing of St Mary's Hospital.
Weighing in at just 8lbs 3oz, the baby Princess was welcomed to the world by Prince William, who was present at the birth.
Just two days later the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge announced to the world they were naming their first daughter Charlotte Elizabeth Diana – in honour of her paternal grandmother and great-grandmother the Queen.
The little Princess was then christened at the Church of St Mary Magdalene, Sandringham, on Sunday July 5 2015.
Charlotte's christening was attended by the Queen, Prince Philip, Prince Charles and Camilla as well as Duchess Kate's family.
The Princess has since quickly established herself as one of the most beloved youngsters in the royal family, and according to Kate herself, Charlotte was a very confident toddler growing up.
The Duchess once told guest at a Guildhall reception: "She is very cure, but she has got quite a feisty side.
This year, Princess Charlotte will celebrate her birthday on Wednesday May 2 when she turns three-years-old.

uk spoke to a Kensington Palace spokeswoman but the details of what happens behind the closed doors of the royal residence remain a mystery.
Last year's celebrations were marked by Kate sharing an intimate photo of the Princess taken in April 2017 at their Norfolk residence of Anmer Hall.
Kensington Palace said: "The Duke and Duchess are delighted to share a new photograph of Princess Charlotte to mark her second birthday tomorrow.
"TRH would like to thank everyone for the lovely messages they have received and hope that everyone enjoys this photograph as much as they do.
Charlotte's first birthday was similarly marked with an official photocall of an adorable looking Charlotte, snapped by Kate at Anmer Hall.
Four candid pictures of Charlotte were shared on Kensington Palace's official Twitter feed, captioned: "We hope that everyone enjoys these lovely photos as much we do.
A spokesman for Kate and William said at the time: "The Duke and Duchess are very happy to be able to share these important family moments.
