China says it welcomes a large U.S. trade delegation,... that's set to arrive in Beijing

for a two-day trip starting today.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, the spokesperson for China's foreign ministry said Washington

and Beijing should properly resolve relevant disputes through equal-footed consultation

as the world's two biggest economies.

Take a look.

"As long as the U.S. is sincere about maintaining the long-term stability of China-U.S. economic

and trade ties and comes to the negotiating table with mutual respect and win-win results

in mind, then we believe that the bilateral consultation would be constructive."

The U.S. delegation, led by Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, is set to exchange views with

Chinese Vice Premier Liu He on their bilateral trade and economic issues.

The trip comes as President Trump hopes to reduce tensions after the two sides came to

the brink of a full-blown trade war after a tit-for-tat tariff battle.

New Border Wall Plan Shakes Washington—Sanctuary Cities Could Lose Everything - Duration: 11:25.

New Border Wall Plan Shakes Washington—Sanctuary

Cities Could Lose Everything

We need a border wall.

That's just the plain and simple truth of the matter.

Illegal immigration has spun out of control and our defenses at the southern border are

still woefully lacking.

But there is the big question of expense: who will foot that massive bill?

This is a question that has dominated political conversation ever since Donald Trump was elected

President.

And there doesn't appear to be an easy answer.

American taxpayers could pay for some of it, of course, and Trump floated the idea of having

Mexico pay for the wall as well.

However, perhaps there's a better solution.

And when you think about it, this one makes perfect sense.

Rep. Robert Pittenger (R-N.C.) made an announcement regarding the new plan, in legislation titled:

"Make Sanctuary Cities Pay for the Wall Act."

From IJR:

"With well over 300 sanctuary cities across the country, it is past time for Congress

to take decisive action.

Sanctuary cities blatantly subvert the rule of law, incentivize further illegal immigration

and endanger law-abiding citizens.

All the while, criminals and drugs flow across our porous southern border, bringing violence

and crime into our towns and communities.

This poses a critical threat to public safety and America's national security as we know

that Hezbollah and other terrorist organizations are actively operating in Latin America.

Enough is enough.

By simultaneously defunding sanctuary cities and funding construction of a border wall,

this legislation offers a comprehensive solution to one of our nation's most pressing and

persistent problems."

How perfect is that?

Punish those who encourage and protect illegal aliens by making them pay for the country's

defense!

Like we said, it makes perfect sense.

If it passes, the legislation would really put a serious hurt on sanctuary cities:

"…the legislation will withhold 'certain federal funds and grants from jurisdictions

that forbid their law enforcement officials from sharing information with federal immigration

officials or complying with an immigration detainer.'"

Both the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) and NumbersUSA have already

endorsed this bill, so it's off to a positive start.

Do you agree with this idea?

Would you support this piece of legislation?

We sure would!

Trey Gowdy Dropped A Game Changing Bombshell That Turned Washington Upside Down - Duration: 11:34.

Trey Gowdy Dropped A Game Changing Bombshell That Turned Washington Upside Down

Trey Gowdy has been at the heart of the biggest stories in Washington.

When he speaks, major news is made.

And he just dropped a game changing bombshell.

To the surprise of pundits and political observers, Gowdy announced he was retiring from Congress

after 2018.

Gowdy – who chaired the Benghazi Select Committee that discovered Hillary Clinton's

private email server – had become a stalwart in fighting against the excesses of the Deep

State.

His decision to head home to South Carolina was a severe blow in the fight to uphold the

rule of law and expose the FBI's abuse of power in spying on Donald Trump's Presidential

campaign.

CNN reports:

"House Oversight Committee Chairman Trey Gowdy said Wednesday he is not running for

re-election and plans to leave politics.

Gowdy, a former federal prosecutor, issued a statement saying he planned to retire from

Congress at the end of this term and would return to working in the justice system.

"Whatever skills I may have are better utilized in a courtroom than in Congress, and I enjoy

our justice system more than our political system," the South Carolina Republican said.

"As I look back on my career, it is the jobs that both seek and reward fairness that

are most rewarding."

Gowdy's announcement makes him the latest Republican committee chairman to announce

retirement ahead of midterm elections that are seeing a spike in Republicans headed for

the exit.

Unlike many other members, however, Gowdy was not facing a difficult re-election campaign

in 2018.

Gowdy, who was first elected in 2010 after ousting former Rep. Bob Inglis, became chairman

of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee last year after Utah Republican

Rep. Jason Chaffetz left Congress."

Gowdy tweeted a longer statement that explained he would like to return to the justice system

Gowdy is the 41st Republican – and ninth committee chairman – to announce his retirement.

Liberal media pundits took this as a sign that Republicans know the cake is baked and

that the Democrats will win the house.

But Gowdy's retirement came on a day when a brand new Monmouth poll showed that the

Democrats' previous lead on the generic ballot had dropped to just 2 points and Trump's

approval rating jumped up 10 points—in just one month.

Republicans political prospects are on the upswing as the effects of the tax cut bill

take hold and Americans enjoy the economic boom Trump is presiding over.

But do you think Trey Gowdy should still stay in Congress?

Let us know your thoughts in the

comment section.

Lake Washington Teaching: Rob Noteboom - Duration: 2:09.

...no one's got a currency that's gonna go from Africa to India to China...

I teach kids. We have trade it for whatever's kind of the equivalent of currency...

They're why I'm here. I mean I love history, I love government. I used to

teach English but that isn't why you come to work every day. I mean that's the

vehicle but they're the reason.

...and they would just pick the ivory up off the ground...

I came to teaching late in the game. I started teaching when I was

around 30. I had jobs where I had kind of teaching-like

experiences, and it just struck me as what I wanted to do.

...pick a good up and maybe it's one of the good....

The best part about being a teacher is I get to

feel like I helped a human being become a better person. I'm a big believer in

student efficacy where I want the kid to walk into the room every day and feel

like they're in a place where an adult cares about them. And as much as I care

about the content - and I do...that's perfect...if I can make a kid come to the

building every day and feel like this is a room where the teacher knows my name,

they ask how I'm doing, they noticed if I have been absent. And this is a place

where I belong, in some way, shape or form.

I'm able to help people become the best people that they can.

...you found some goods in a place to go?

My name is Rob Noteboom. I teach ninth grade honors world history and I do it here at

Redmond High School. I started in 1995, Redmond Junior High - Redmond Middle School

now. This is my I think 11th or 12th year in this building.

I think people come to this

district and they stay here and so there's a sense of continuity to a

certain degree that I really like. There's a

communication piece that I think the district fosters, in terms of you're not

doing this by yourself you're kind of the piece of a larger puzzle and you get

all kinds of opportunities to see where your work is fitting into that. I teach

kids. I like the energy. I like the inquisitiveness. I get to be

with the kids every day and I like it.
