In this tutorial we will learn how to model very simple Gothic vault. Before you start modeling an object study it; find references.

Drawings are the best because you can clearly see all the parts. As you can see

Gothic arch has sharp point. So you can start modeling arch from a spline; use elapse as a base.

Next Convert

ellipse to spline; Right Click -> Convert To:-> Convert To Editable Spline. Click on

Segments and select two bottom segments and delete them. After that Click on Vertices and select top vernicle and

scale it; this will create sharp pointed arch.

Go to modifiers list and apply Extrude modifier. Change

amount to desired length.

Go to Hierarchy Panel and center pivot to object.

Next center object to grid; x=0,y=0,z=0.

Turn on Angle Snap Toggle and in top view hold Shift down and rotate 90 degree to create copy.

Next apply ProBoolean Compound Object;

Select an object. > Create panel > under standard primitives pull down menu choose Compound Objects and click on ProBoolean.

Under ProBoolean options select Move and Union and

then turn on Start picking button and select second shape; turn off start picking option. Right click and

Convert proBoolen object to editable Poly; then go to edge selection and select bottom edges-

- Hold shift down and drag edges down to extrude them Next we will create

diagonal ribs. Rotate object so you can see inside crises.

Setup snap options to Vertex. Under shapes select Line and turn on snapping option.

Draw line along inside corner.

Right click at the end to finish your line. Turn off snapping options. Go to modifier list and

apply Sweep Modifier.

Change Angle to Cylinder and

Interpolation to Zero steps. Adjust radius to desired size.

Go back to Hierarchy Panel, click Affect Pivot Only

button and center pivot to grid; x=0,y=0,z=0.

Go to Tools and choose Array.

Click rotation button and set

z axis to

360 degree and change count to 4. Click Preview to check result and click OK.

Next select

gothic vault, right click and convert to editable poly.

Select transverse rib (edge on one of the arches) hold down shit and drag to extrude.

Switch to polygonal selection and detach newly created extrusion.

Select new mesh and

apply shell modifier.

Adjust Inner and outer amount to desire thickness.

Move it to chosen position.

Rested pivot point; Hierarchy Panel, click Affect Pivot Only

button and center pivot to grid; x=0, y=0, z=0.

Apply array again; keep the same settings.

Next create column; use line and Lathe Modifier.

Draw profile of the column fist, make adjustments as needed and then got to

modifiers pulldown meu and choose

Lathe Modifier.

Place column in one of four corners

and reset pivot point again. Apply array one more time

At the end create Boss

type of decoration that will cover

connection between four diagonal ribs.

As before use line and Lathe Modifier.

You may add more decoration if you desire.

Thank you and good luck!

Mass Tort Legal Nurse Consultant Jobs Made Simple by CLNC® Consultant Susan Schaab - Duration: 8:03.

This is Susan Schaab, Certified Legal Nurse Consultant.

I asked Susan if she would talk with us today about mass tort cases.

Susan, I know you've been involved in both medical device and pharmaceutical mass torts.

And I know that there's a distinction, do you want to share a little bit about it?

And first, let's talk about what we mean by "mass torts."

Mass tort is different than class action.

Sometimes they get lumped in together, but class action is really multiple plaintiffs

in one single case.

Mass torts are individual tort cases that are then brought together because if they

were tried individually it would just overwhelm the entire system.

Right.

They are "en masse" so it's not a single medical malpractice case.

Each case stands on its own merit.

Yes, it's the kind of case a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant needs to be prepared to be

focused on hundreds, or even thousands, of cases.

Exactly.

Again, I know you've done both devices and pharmaceuticals.

And with devices, you've done vaginal mesh cases.

Tell us a little bit about how you interface with these cases on behalf of the attorneys.

I was fortunate to come in on one of the smaller companies with vaginal mesh and helped work

with the attorneys to develop the patient profile which looks at when the device, the

mesh, was implanted, who implanted it, what the issues around it were (erosion, pain,

suffering, loss of consortium) and then how the problems were addressed.

Whether there was any surgical procedure or if was just, sort of, watch and follow-up.

While every medical malpractice case, or personal injury case, is very unique, what I'm hearing

from you is that when we're involved in mass tort cases (and this is important for people

to understand) there's a template that they're working with and you call that the "patient

profile."

Yes.

There's a template.

As a consultant, you're going in and you are looking for very specific elements, occurrences

and variances and signs and symptoms.

I think that it's important that you can be involved in helping to create that template

of what they have to look for.

Well, and when you're screening the records too, it's important because each case is individual

and stands on its own merit.

Sometimes the screening of these cases can be done quickly and in a shoddy fashion so

that individuals who actually have significant damages are lost in the shuffle.

That case will settle for a much smaller amount than if the actual damages are correctly ascertained

and brought to the attorney's attention.

And then that case can either be tried individually or it will settle for a much greater amount.

Likewise, it's important for people to understand, if you are working on hundreds or thousands

of cases the attorney might not want you to spend 50 or 70 hours on a single plaintiff.

It's a different kind of interaction.

I have spent as little as half an hour on one whole medical record because the screening

is different.

If you're looking for a surgical intervention that was done to correct the vaginal mesh,

you're screening 6,000 pages in an hour looking for the operative note and knowing exactly

what to look for.

It is short time frame specific.

It's almost more like data mining in some of the cases.

And that's why that patient profile template is so important, because you really do know

exactly what you have to get in there and get focused on.

And that's what you want to market to the attorney.

I know you've also worked on some pharmaceutical mass torts.

Yes.

How is that different?

That requires a lot more analysis.

The pharmaceutical case that I worked, I was on the defense side, which was a lot of fun

because the injuries are related usually to the black box warning.

But we all know that medications work together and have adverse effects depending on what

the patient is taking, all their other medications and what their medical background is.

Those pharmaceutical cases actually, on the defense side, you can knock a bunch of them

out just by providing very detailed, extensive reports.

When you say "knock them out" you mean get the plaintiff to drop the case, right?

Yes!

(laughing)

Okay, I just wanted to make sure people listening know what you mean by that.

Alright, give us maybe a tip or two, when working on mass tort cases that you think

over the years, in your own involvement in mass torts cases, that you've kind of learned

that are important for anybody who's going to get involved in these.

You need to understand where and what phase the case is in.

If you're getting involved in very cutting-edge litigation that's coming up, like the CLNC®

consultant I talked to who is interested in issues coming up with perfusion equipment.

Yes.

That is just starting.

She knew more about it than I did because she had been getting the information from

work, and then she was going to seek out attorneys involved in that.

That's a very early phase.

Then there's the phase where you can come on while they're trying what they call the

"bellwether cases" which is putting forward example cases to see what the verdicts can

be.

The plaintiff usually loses those first few cases.

And then they start winning.

And then they start winning big.

Once they start winning big, that's when it goes more into the "mature" phase where it's

just a scramble to find as many of these injured clients as you possibly can.

The emergent phase would be extremely interesting because if you can bring to the attention

of these attorneys that this is an issue that you've noticed based on FDA data and some

other information, they can get a big jump on it.

You can, at the beginning, help them to set the stage and really develop strategically

where they're going to go with these cases.

Right.

Whereas, if you're coming in more on the back end of it you're probably going to be working

more on behalf of what they've already defined as their objectives.

And, as you suggested to me earlier, sometimes they might be a little off-track.

So it's better if you're brought in on the early stage.

On the early stage it's wonderful because you don't need to locate an expert because

there is only one expert who is addressing causation issues in these cases.

So that person already working with the firms on both sides.

What you are doing in the earlier stages of the litigation is just really helping form

the whole analysis and legal strategy goes with that.

Absolutely.

People get excited about the thousands of cases that come in later on.

It's very quick.

You're extracting specific information that is already kind of set in stone by the motion

process and everything between defense and plaintiff and the judge.

So there's nothing truly unique that you can find, unless you find damages that actually

will move the person to a higher level on the settlement grid.

Susan, thank you so much for sharing this information on mass torts.

ONE simple SECRET for better VLOGS / FILMS... - Duration: 3:04.

what is up guys and welcome to my filmmaking vlog where I try to learn how

to make better films and hopefully if you're interested you can learn

something in the process as well... last week we were talking about this little clip I

made on this boat on this really small space and how t o make a little cool edit

even if you're not going to different locations and whatnot and

today we're talking about a little bit of the same topic and this about the

second clip from the same trip to the countryside that I made last weekend

yeah before we go into that clip and talk about it let's just watch it so

here it goes three two one go

and we're back so did you enjoy it did you like the clip was it okay like

7 minus? 7 plus? something like that personally for me when I was making that

vlog what was going in my head is that we need to tell a story we need to start

from one place and end up in another basically we weren't again going to any

cool locations we didn't have any activity in the vlog but then I

realized we can start from this forest and we can end up at the beach or at the

at this lake...somehow that makes the vlog even better so that was what I was

going on in my head... no matter if you shooting

if you're shooting anything like that it really helps to start one place and end

up in another...start with the problem and solve that problem...somehow tell a little

story doesn't need to be fancy storyline or dialogue or any fancy action or

activities but it really helps if you try to tell even a little bit of a story

yeah I think that's it for today's vlog... and if you have someone in your family

who would like to learn how to make films how to make videos take photos

share its video with him with her and yeah this vlog is not about those

YouTube is full of those you can go and watch them learned it from there no

matter if you're shooting with an iPhone DSLR this is all about learning how to

make better documentary travel vlog kind of films but yeah I'm rambling here

thank you so much for watching if you enjoyed this video please hit the

subscribe button hit the like button and I'll see you in the next vlog all right

bye

What Happens When You Take Action... - Duration: 5:15.

Hey, what's up?

John Sonmez here from simpleprogrammer.com.

I am here in the Tuscany region of Italy still.

Just outside of Florence.

I went to Florence yesterday.

I spent the whole day in Florence.

It was pretty cool.

Pretty interesting.

I got to see some pretty interesting stuff like the Statue of David and the Uffizi Gallery

which was pretty neat, but I think I'm Florenced out.

It's kind of a busy city and I think a museumed out too.

Anyway, I thought I'd do a video sort of reading kudos.

I like to do these kinds of success story videos so you guys understand that there are

people out here that are taking the advice from this channel and—from Simple Programmer,

and taking action with it.

It's not just the channel or my advice, or anything like that.

It's taking action.

That's the biggest thing.

If I can teach you to do anything, you can disagree with me on any single thing I say,

but at least agree with me on the point that you got to do shit to make shit happen.

You're the only who is going to be responsible in your life for making your life what you

want it to be.

Stop blaming everyone else.

Stop blaming everything else and do shit to make things happen.

Anyway, I got this email from someone.

I'm not going to name his name here, but his—I will just give his first name.

It's Ryan and Ryan said, "Awhile back, I sent you an email saying that I turned down a technical

support engineering position paying 70K to pursue something more."

I think I did a video on this.

I'm not sure.

I don't know if we'll find the video, but I think I did a video on this.

Well, I freaking did it.

"I was hired by"—and I'm going to leave out the name of the company, but it's a

big company.

A Fortune 500 company – "As a software engineer and finished signing the papers yesterday.

I sacrifice a lot to get her from taking on 8K plus in loans, maxing on my credit card."

I don't know about that one, but no.

That's all right.

"Working 70 plus hours weeks for seven months and putting all of my focus/energy towards

this goal."

All right.

Nice job, Ryan.

All right.

He says, "You set this journey in motion a year ago when I got excited about what was

possible watching your videos.

That excitement led me to a six-month immersive code school, two AWS certifications, my own

startup, and an app on the Google Play Store."

I just want to point out here that what Ryan did was he took action and he went to six-month

immersive code school.

Basically, a coding boot camp like more of a shorter—probably longer than a coding

boot camp, but shorter than a regular degree program.

Well, he's doing 70 plus hour weeks for seven months and focusing on everything towards

that goal, and then he got two AWS certifications, started his own startup, and he created and

app in the Google Play Store.

How many times do I tell you to create an app?

You should just do it, right?

He says, "I think I'm a good model of how there's an alternative path to college as

I don't have a CS degree or even an associate degree, although I'm close.

I think the code school got me 60%, but the time I put in at night and on the weekends

was ultimately what got me here.

My advice to other people like me: To go after your dreams with everything you have."

I totally agree, Ryan.

He says, "Find a way to make it to the next day/week and grind through the days where

you feel lost."

Again, I believe in that strongly.

You got to make it so you got to grind through those days where you don't feel like doing

it anymore.

You can't give up there.

You just grind through it.

He said, "Don't stop.

When you consider, when you conquer something, keep looking for the next step or five steps

to keep you pushing forward.

Also, find a community or just others that you can talk to about what you're learning.

This will help you stay sane while you head down this path.

Finally, know going in that most people will not see your vision.

When times get rough which they will, remember that you're capable of getting there and whatever

is blocking your way is only temporary.

Thanks for the advice/motivation."

Thank you, Ryan.

I appreciate you sending this email and congratulations on the job.

I just wanted to give you guys one of these success stories so you can see how people

are being successful.

I get these, by the way, I get an email like this probably once a day now just because

the channel has been around for such a long time and so many people have taken action.

It takes time.

I mean it takes about a good year.

Maybe two years where you start seeing results.

Most people give up long before they see results, but if you can stick it through like Ryan

did and you are willing to put in the time and the effort and the work.

You can have the success that he did.

He got a very nice job at a very nice company and now he's a software developer.

That's cool.

That's awesome.

Yeah, that's all I got for this video.

Make sure you click the Subscribe button and make sure you take some action.

Click the bell so you don't miss any videos.

I'll talk to you next time.

Take care.
