Khloé Kardashian may be "so thankful" to be a mom, but she's trying to see where her relationship stands with Tristan Thompson.

A source close to the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star, 33, tells PEOPLE that Kardashian and Thompson are "still figuring out their relationship.

The update comes nearly two months after news of Thompson's alleged infidelity broke (Kardashian welcomed their daughter True just two days later).

"She's not dumb — she knows being in a relationship with an NBA player means she will have to deal with drama like this, but she has to figure out what she's cool and not cool with," the insider says.

"He's well-known for being a serial cheater.". As for tabloid reports that Kardashian and Thompson, 27, have been having "screaming fights," the source says that's "not true.

"That's just not who she is," the source explains. "She wants a very calm environment for her baby and is trying her best to provide that.".

News of Thompson's alleged infidelity has many wondering whether Kardashian would ever leave her boyfriend of nearly two years.

But despite sources telling PEOPLE that her initial plan was to fly to Los Angeles as soon as possible after giving birth, Kardashian opted to remain in Cleveland, Ohio, where Thompson plays for the Cavaliers, with her baby girl.

Earlier this month, a source confirmed to PEOPLE that the basketball player was officially back home with Kardashian and their newborn.

The couple has also started stepping out publicly together again. On May 4, they were spotted out for lunch in Cleveland. The following night, Kardashian cheered on the NBA star at the Cavaliers' playoff game against the Toronto Raptors.

While neither Kardashian nor Thompson has addressed his alleged infidelity publicly, she has been hinting to her Instagram followers lately that there may be trouble in paradise through a series of cryptic quotes.

yeah this is fascinating right so you don't normally get all of this access

where you're looking into a meeting and I think it just goes to show how

important this is to this administration to show that there is some that there's

sure that the people see what they want to see I think the North Koreans have

been pretty clear and consistent that they're not going to give up their

nuclear weapons but I think kim youngchul is going to dangle just enough

in front of secretary Pompeo so that Pompeyo can return to trump and say that

everything's fine and that the summit can go ahead and Shawn you know you

heard the president speaking there right he said a lot of it was kind of just

platitudes right he said it's very positive the meetings have been positive

hopefully still going to have the June 12th summit going on

maybe there will be a second or third meeting that was sort of curious did he

mean a second or third meeting between him and kim jeong-hoon I mean so that so

he's opening the door to that but then he also said maybe there will be no

meeting so all possibilities here on the table

right and I think we have to recognize this for what it is over the past couple

of weeks there has been this effort to kind of manage expectations with regard

to this meeting if it should happen you know it's this is interesting because

the administration has gone from a very clear and matter-of-fact decision to

want clear verifiable and irreversible dismantling of nucleus program to maybe

there'll be a second meeting maybe this is a process maybe this will take place

over time which is a bit of a shift on the part of the administration so I

found it very interesting what the president said there but I also think

it's really interesting that you've got two former heads of intelligence

agencies that have been adversaries for a long time sitting down across the

table from each other and these two men are they look this is not for them it's

not just about getting this summit back on track it's about getting a sense for

what the other side is sneaking and figuring out how much wiggle room there

is and whether or not there's even a reason to go forward with this summit I

think that for right now we are still we are still fairly far apart with regard

to what North Korea is willing to give and what the United States absolutely

wants and junk Russia is now a larger part of the picture here right because

you have the the Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov sitting down with kim jeong-hoon

this morning and two notable things that came out of that meeting we all know

we're sort of Russia stands in terms of being more an ally with North Korea than

with the United States on this but he said that sanctions must be lifted

against North Korea until denuclearization can happen one and he

also warned against quote sudden moves in these negotiations Jung what do you

think Russia is trying to do here so Russia has been sidelined in most of

this process and I think that the Russians like the Chinese want

denuclearization but the Russians and the Chinese do agree that there has to

be some sort of phased approach that North Korea has to have some incentives

to move forward on denuclearization so what the North Koreans have been

successful in doing is to rally this the Chinese and the Russians

their side so that they can have a stronger position going into the summit

with President Trump and and Sean can you imagine as we just heard elise labid

reporting about how there is this sticking point over deed nuclearization

so it seems like there's just one but this is huge right this is a gulf

between how North Korea is going to define this what they are going to

accept what the US wants to see clearly the president wants to shut it all down

but it's very difficult to see how Kim jong-un would be on board with anything

really close to that yeah as you know as this as this summit goes forward we know

what the United States wants and Kim Young Kim Jungman actually goes into

this meeting with somewhat of an advantage because what we're really

trying to figure out here is what he's willing to give there's no ambiguity

about what the United States wants it's about what he's willing to give so I

think at this point as as we move forward if the if the president stays at

the table knowing that he's not going to get the grand deal then that is somewhat

of a victory for for Kim and for North Korea depending on what he does if when

he stays at the table that'll tell us whether or not the president is actually

going to be able to get something that his predecessors have not been able to

get but at this point you're right we still got a vast gulf here between what

the United States wants and what North Korea is willing to give that's what he

wants poppy the grand deal it's hard to imagine the president wanting something

different right it's a very very hard to imagine that guys thank you very much we

Use This Simple Trick to Determine Whether an Avocado Is Ripe Inside - Duration: 2:47.

For many fruits and vegetables there exists a delicate balance. No one likes fruit before

it's ripe, but soft, mushy fruit that's past it's prime, isn't very appetizing

either. Fruits that have a thick skin or rind make it difficult to properly judge where

the fruit or vegetable is on the scale of green to ruined.

Fewer things are more frustrating than cutting open an overripe watermelon or trying to carve

out an avocado whose flesh feels like cement. For watermelons, there are tricks that involve

the straw from a broom, as well as thumping and tapping.

For avocados, it's as simple as pulling off the stem. This small remnant of its days

on the tree can tell us whether a particular avocado is ripe, before we ever buy it. First,

if you give a little tug and the stem doesn't pull out, leave the avocado for someone else.

It will be ready soon, but it's not ready to be bought now.

Second, if you go to remove the stem and there's a brown tint beneath it, it's already too

ripe to buy. Those annoying brown patches have already set in. However, if you pull

the stem and it looks nice and green where the stem once was, put it in your shopping

cart. It will make a perfect addition to Taco Tuesday.

What happens if you don't have much of a choice? You pull the stems on a few avocados

and discover that none of them are ripe. They're either all way too green or way too ripe,

and you've got a bunch of starving mouths at home waiting on your world famous guacamole?

Grab a green avocado and some aluminum foil. All's not lost.

When you get home, preheat your oven to 200ºF. Wrap the unripened avocado in aluminum foil

and make sure that there are no holes or ways for air to get out. You want to ripen your

fruit, not bake it.

Put it in a ceramic dish that's safe for the oven and wait. It shouldn't take more

than ten minutes for the fruit to be ready to slice and carve out. By putting the fruit

in the oven, you're speeding up the ripening process by allowing the heat from the oven

to release the gas responsible for getting an avocado ready to eat. With this life hack,

the gas is trapped by the aluminum foil, accelerating nature's ripening, according to your current

needs.

With these two tips you should never have an overripe inedible avocado again.

Simple Bathroom Fixes That Make a Big Impact - Duration: 5:57.

- We've lived in this house for two years now.

Yeah, right before our third child was born.

- Lots of families here and we got three kids,

it's a good fit.

So when we first moved in to the house,

we really needed to clean it up, it definitely needed a facelift,

really all the way around the house.

in their home but the project took way longer than

expected and isn't quite finished.

- Life in general with three children is somewhat chaotic.

On a good day, I might get an hour to work on something

and it might be one day a week, which is kind of why this

whole thing is taking so long.

How tall is that?

- [Announcer] One project the family placed

on the back burner was remodeling their bathrooms.

- The bathrooms are probably priority number 45, 46 and 47

on my list of to-dos.

- [Announcer] And that's where we come in,

our kids are washing their hands a lot

and the towel rack is right above the toilet

so the kids just yank the towel down,

it falls in the toilet so that's a big problem.

Just having kid-friendly bath but still having it look nice.

- [Announcer] With her mission set, Lindsay and her team

get to work renovating the bathrooms.

Meanwhile, our plumber has finished installing the

Vanquish toilet in the upstairs bathroom.

- Looks good.

- Uh, yeah.

Number one you'll see it's a elongated bowl

and high height so it's a very comfortable seat to be in.

We talked about it early on, it's this

no-hinge seat and so we've taken the seat hinges

off the top of this and we've moved them off to the side,

which gives you a nice clean deck

so that you can wipe that off.

- Easy clean, that's amazing.

I didn't think when I heard side-hinges,

I didn't really understand until I saw it.

How cool it is to just do one wipe and it's clean.

You know, you're usually wiping all around

into the crevices and it takes forever

and you don't really feel like you get it clean.

But with this, it really is really easy.

- I want you to watch this flush.

So, it's a very simple lever on the side.

You get a full flush, it looks like you get a lot more water

going through than you really do.

So, it's still the 1.6 gallons.

So, all that toilet paper that you talked about

gets pushed through.

- [Announcer] And with a soft close feature

that means no more slamming the lid.

- That toilet is really solving like every single

one of the problems that we have as parents

with kids who can't flush and are messy.

- And with that pure clean glaze, the action of the water

takes away all the debris.

So, clean toilets, easy to clean when it does get a little

dirty and easy to maintain going forward.

- [Announcer] As the renovation continues,

- No more towels falling in the toilet.

It was surprising how different it looks

just by changing out light fixtures.

The vanity looks totally different now

with the different knobs and the cute little facuets.

Even though it's the same with the paint

and the light fixtures and all of those cool elements

combined, it looks like a totally new bathroom

even though we didn't gut it.

They're so excited.

They're going to love it and I'm going to love not

having to pick up after them.

And they're going to love not getting yelled at.

Valet accidentally parks Porsche under SUV at upmarket Sydney hotel - Duration: 3:01.

A valet at Sydney's Hyatt Regency hotel had a bad day at work on Thursday after he accidentally parked a Porsche Carrera underneath another vehicle

While attempting to park the Porsche, the car reportedly accelerated and ended up under an orange sports utility vehicle (SUV)

Police were called to the hotel to cut out the driver, who was unharmed, as onlookers were treated to the comical sight of the black soft-top Porsche squashed under the larger vehicle

"When I first saw this, I thought that it was being shot for a TV show or a movie, but apparently it's real," said bystander Jonathan Bayle

A witness told the ABC: "I heard this revving and this bang and turned around and the Porsche was literally underneath this other car

Washington Swamp On Alert As 2 Supreme Court Justices Prepare To Retire.

It's the sound of countless liberals shrieking in fear.

Sounds pretty good to me!

Despite their best efforts, the left has not been able to topple Trump.

Time and again they've made huge boasts.

He couldn't win the election.

We're going to stop the Inauguration.

He's getting impeached.

They'll never pass the tax bill.

Yet time and again the democrats prove they are all talk, no punch.

Now things are about to get much worse for the party of Stalin.

Democrats have clung on to a wee bit of power, thanks to the balance of Justices on the Supreme

Court.

Their time is rapidly running out.

Some of the biggest leftists on the Court are well past their prime.

And people know they are about to hang up the gavel.

Two of the most prominent Justices are about to help Trump score historic wins.

With speculation mounting over the possible retirement of supreme court justice Anthony

Kennedy, Trump could have a lasting impact on reshaping America's most important court.

"It will create the most conservative court since the mid-1930s," he added.

While the likelihood of a pending vacancy is far from confirmed, judicial watchers have

set their sights on Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, a progressive icon who turned 85 this year,

and Kennedy, a critical swing vote who has been the subject of retirement rumors for

the second straight year.

Any vacancy prior to 2020 would almost certainly be filled by Trump, and a rules change adopted

by Republicans during the Gorsuch nomination fight enabled the Senate to confirm supreme

court justices with a simple majority vote.

Kennedy was a Ronald Reagan appointee.

While he is often viewed as conservative, he has historically voted in favor of liberal

issues as well.

Giving rise to his role as a "swing" vote.

But he and Ginsburg are reaching an age where they can't stay on for long.

Both are in their mid-80's, an old age for any job.

Despite not being physically fit for the office, you might wonder about their mental state.

With each passing year, staying on the Supreme Court will become a bigger challenge.

Expect them to retire sooner, rather than later.

Which is a big win for President Trump.

The Supreme Court was a major issue for many voters.

Had Crooked Hillary won, she would have polluted the highest court in the land with radical,

Socialist justices.

They would have torn our Constitution to shreds.

Who knows what kind of horrible damage would have been done?

Thank God Trump is in the White House.

He has promised to appoint conservative, Constitutionalists to the Supreme Court.

As such, they will have a tremendous impact on our country.

You better believe issues like abortion will be overturned immediately.

And that's just for starters.

A dynamic change will take place in our country.

Liberals will lose plenty of sleep, as they watch their toxic policies get demolished.

to help keep your dog comfortable and prevent heatstroke then I've got eleven

tips for you coming up Hi, I'm Dr alex from ourpetshealth.com helping

you and your dog to live a healthier happier life so make sure that you're

subscribed and let me know in the comments down below which tip your dog

enjoys the most make sure you watch right to the end as after I've run

through my eleven tips to keep your dog cool in summer I'll let you know an

essential summer dog care tip you might never have thought of so my first tip is

to make sure that your dog has access to plenty of water so at home and in the

garden this can just mean that you've got plenty of water bowls dotted around

the place making sure that they're regularly refreshed sometimes even

adding ice to them can help keep that water cool and that can encourage your

dog to to drink more water now if you're outside if you're on a walk somewhere

then actually making sure that you carry a water bottle not just for yourself but

for your dog is very important and we can help our dog drink this water in a

couple of different ways so the first is that we can carry a folding bowl that

you can just then pop out and pour the water in there to allow your dog to have

a drink or you can also get water bottles specifically for your dogs that have got a

fold-out drinking bowl attached to that so that you'll never forget that and

leave that behind I'll put some links in the description down below for those

products ok so tip number two is to use a fan now obviously when it's hot we

have a fan it helps blow the air over us it helps us lose heat better and your

dog is exactly the same so this can just be if you're at home normal just a

normal household fan directed over your dog's bed or the area that they like to

sit you can also get crate fans so they attach onto the side of the crate onto

the bars and that will blow the air through the crate and over your dogs so

that really can be useful actually if you're traveling in the car or even just

at home if that's the place that they like to sit or if you're away and that's

where you leave your dog in their crate so using a fan to help keep your dog

cool can really help okay so tip number three to keep your

dog cool in hot weather is actually use cooling ice packs or

cooling towels cooling mats so we can do this in a number of different ways you

can get cooling towels and mats that you just add a little bit of water to kind

of shake them out that starts if that great thing that water starts

evaporating and it cools those down and can actually be quite a big difference

between temperature of the towel and their outside temperature you can also

get other cooling aids and one of these is an ice pack or a cool pack that goes

around their neck so you pop that in the fridge and then when you need to cool

your dog down you just take it out and put it around their neck and it provides

some nice cooling but you can also get jackets that you put on very much like

cooling towels but they won't slip off so if your dogs out and about then you

just wet those jackets the water then evaporates that caused them down and

that can make a really big difference okay so tip number four to keep your dog

cool is to use cooling treats so we like ice creams or ice blocks and our dogs

are no different so what we can do is we can actually make up treats pop them in

in advance we can pop them in the freezer and then when it's hot we can

take those out and actually my next video is going through two really great

treats frozen treats that we can give to our dogs so make sure you check those

out okay tip number five to keep your dog cool and prevent injury is to

actually use some booties for their feet so this is especially important if you

live in the town in the city and you're walking on concrete or pavement a lot so

it's amazing how quickly that can heat up and I've actually done a video on

that which I'll link in the card up here but using booties on their feet and make

a really big difference it provides a layer of insulation so it will stop them

conducting heat from the ground into their body and it will also stop their

paws getting burnt so that can really help to certainly not only keep your dog

cool but prevent them from getting some quite serious injuries sometimes step

number six is to use a sprinkler or a paddling pool of some description in the

garden so that will allow your dog to get wet too and that will help cool them

off so that water will then evaporate and we can think of that almost as like

sweating for dogs so dogs they can't sweat they can't lose heat in the same

way that we can they can only but if they get wet then that water that

then evaporates actually takes a lot of heat with it and can keep your dog cool

so as long as there's no water restrictions having the sprinkler

running on low or having a paddling pool that you allow and encourage your dog to

use can make a really big difference in keeping them caught and help you to

prevent heatstroke tip number seven is to have shaded areas so if your dog is

outside if you keep them outside and they're not in the house then just make

sure that they've got somewhere shady and cooler for them to retreat to

there's nothing worse than seeing dogs in gardens where there's absolutely no

shade or you see them really tucked up against the this thin slither of shade

and the side of the fence and that's really the only place they can get out

of the beating Sun so just providing a nice shady spot can help keep your dog

cool so tip number eight might not be quite so obvious and that's weight loss

so a lot of our dogs unfortunately are overweight and I've got a whole video

series on obesity and the importance of losing weight and how to actually go

about losing weight that I'll link in the card up here and in the description

down below but losing weight can make a huge difference and then tip number nine

is to groom your dog so especially if they've got a long coat if they've got a

thick coat then actually clipping them out in the summer can make a big

difference in their temperature so just imagine a big heavy thick long coat is a

bit like wearing the big insulating jacket to remove that jacket so you just

need to clip all their hair so getting your dog regularly groomed and make a

big difference to keeping them cool in the summer

tip number ten is to only exercise or walk them in the cool of the day so the

best time is generally first thing in the morning before the sun's out and

it's full strength and before the temperatures started to really warm up

so targeting the cool of the day so morning is best late evening is another

option limiting their exercise actually in the middle of the day is also

important so even if you think that your dog wants to run if they want to chase a

ball just really not doing that for them not taking them out not playing with

them to exuberantly will help to prevent heatstroke because

overexertion actually is a really big cause of heat stroke if that exertion

takes place in the heat of the day and then my final tip tip number 11 is quite

simple never leave your dog in a parked car

so there's very little that's better at killing a

dog through heatstroke than leaving them in a parked car in warm weather it

doesn't even really need to be that hot outside and if you've got any doubts

about that if you're not sure about how quickly a car can get warm then I've got

a whole video about that that I'll link up here and I'd really encourage you to

watch that one and share that with your friends and family it's very important

because every year dogs do die in hot cars and it's so

avoidable and completely unnecessary so as promised I've got a bonus suncare tip

for you and that is to actually consider using sunscreen for your dog it's

something that we often don't think about but our dogs noses especially or

the tips of there is really susceptible to sunburn and sun damage and that

definitely can lead to some cancers which can be very aggressive and very

difficult to treat especially if they're not addressed straight away I would

recommend a specific pet sun cream so other sun creams can have harmful or

irritating ingredients so using a pet specific sun cream can just help prevent

skin irritation while at the same time preventing burns you can check out the

How Much Money Should You Spend Buying a Sewing Machine? | SEWING REPORT - Duration: 16:21.

how much should you be spending on a sewing machine we are diving into that

question and welcome to the Sewing Report I'm Jennifer Moore helping you discover

your love of sewing crafts and DIY projects and it is the ultimate question

for the beginner Sohus seamstress how much should you spend on your first

sewing machine and I'm here to tell you that's kind of a trick question because

it's gonna be different for everybody so when I started out sewing I didn't know

anything I didn't really know what I was doing I ended up buying like a vintage

sewing machine that wasn't exactly use our friendly beautiful machine though

although I haven't only used it in a while and then I ended up getting a kind

of an entry-level computerized brother machine the SC 400 great machine and I

will link all of the sewing machines I can below that I own or that I recommend

so and I've also done a few other videos and live shows about sewing machines so

if you'd like to check those out I will also link the playlist I currently own

five sewing machines so started off with the brother and then after I kind of

outgrew that I ended up giving it away I own a vintage Singer 201 to a never

sewn sparrow 25 which is definitely a great entry level budget machine

I dropped the way too much money on this Janome 7700 and I will go into that I

also have a sailrite zigzag machine and then I have the Brother

serger the Brother 10 34d serger some of these machines serve different purposes

so in my opinion I think it's good to have unit askers I'm kind of lazy and I

don't like switching on a lot of stuff so I really prefer to like a separate

serger sewing machine if I ever get an embroidery machine it's gonna be a

separate unit and I I borrowed a cover stitch machine from pink castle fabrics

a while back to do some videos and I would prefer having two separate

machines versus like a serger cover stitch combo just cuz I just hate

switching stuff out you have to change the thread like it's just such a pain in

the butt I don't know so you're probably wondering if you're

just starting or if you don't own a sewing machine how do you figure out

what to buy how much should you spend and do you really need like one of those

fancy expensive sewing machines I was talking to a friend a while ago it was

actually a guy and he was like do you like those fancy ones he's like are

those really necessary and I think that's a good question there are so many

brands of sewing machines and over the years I've you know learned a little

little bit about some of them but to the person coming in from the outside you

know you don't know all the brains in fact I talked to a lot of my friends and

they said they'd only really heard of singer and brother they weren't really

aware of like the Bernina is even not even the genome ease in some cases they

didn't know thoth or like Husqvarna Jiu key for sure you know people unfamiliar

with this world they just don't know any of that and it's I see it sort of as

like a chicken and egg scenario of course you have to have a sewing machine

in order to start sewing but if someone doesn't so what's gonna get them to buy

and start using a sewing machine if they're not into it and one thing I

think would help I've seen a lot of classes being offered by like sewing

machine dealers or like other types of sewing businesses and I see one thing on

the registration or the information that I think kind of deters people and that

for many of the classes I've seen advertised is that the person already

has to have a sewing machine and bring it to class now if you're someone and

you you don't know if you like sewing and you want to take a class on it are

you gonna buy a hundred or 200 or 300 dollar machine to take a class you don't

know if you're gonna like on a subject you don't know if you're gonna be hot on

or not either so I can definitely see why someone who's kind of interested in

sewing maybe that's you would be a little bit dissuaded or like you know am

I really gonna drop 300 bucks on something only to find out you don't

like it here's the other caveat I know a lot of you in the sewing community see

machines under like a hundred dollars being throwaway machines meaning

if they break or something goes wrong with them they're not worth getting

fixed you should just throw it away because the repair cost would be more

than it would to just get a new sewing machine and the other thing I've heard

about some of these lower end machines is that they're not very good use again

I've heard mixed things and I think some I've seen some great reviews on some

models that are under a hundred and fifty dollars so and I personally had a

good experience with a machine that was under four hundred dollars this one is

certainly under 400 bucks and this one I paid I really I paid $2,500 for this

about three to four years ago do I think it's a great sewing machine yes I do do

I think that the difference between this one and the ever sown is worth 20 what

twenty one hundred dollars I would have to say no and I would say if you're

looking at the Janome like memory like the Janome home series I think a great

less expensive option is the Janome skyline series and I will link one below

I think they have they have like the large throat space that if you're a

quilter might be good but they also have a lower price of about a thousand some

of them are about a thousand dollars they can go up a little bit as well but

I think compared to $2,500 there's a few more bells and whistles this one has but

is it worth the extra $1,500 probably not

in fact I spent $1,200 on like the premium sail bright zigzag machine

package to be honest with you I haven't only used it I know that sounds terrible

still trying to figure out what to do with it

but that's what I meet about not buying too much machine or one where you you

know you haven't tried it out or you don't know if it's for you again that's

a lot of money to spend that's something that you that you never use on the other

hand if you are curious about sewing but you don't want to buy a machine what do

you do in order to get access to one to figure out if you're gonna like it so

here are some recommendations try to find a local sewing class or sewing

studio or a lesson or a workshop where the machine

is provided these can be a little bit more rare but I'm seeing them pop up

every once in a while I think more businesses need to do that though

because you have to understand that the target customer you want the person who

doesn't sew but wants to probably doesn't already own a machine so if you

can provide them with a you know starter one like a two hundred dollar one that's

easy to use they might be like wow this is actually pretty cool I like sewing

the machines pretty easy to use not very frustrating I'll buy one but if they

never get to use it how are they gonna know if they like it so going to a class

or trying to check something like that out might be a good way for you to test

drive your machines you can also of course go to a sewing machine dealer and

try to see if they will let you try out the different models but again if you

here's the thing about getting into sewing though when you're buying a

machine and you're not sure what you want to sew I think it's really

difficult for you to make a decision based on a lack of knowledge because if

you get into sewing and you find you like quilting but you don't want to make

clothes I would make a different sewing machine recommendation to you versus if

you were doing clothing or garments or dress making so I think that's one

reason why if you're new to it I might wait to buy machine until you figure out

what do you want to sew with it how hardcore do you want to get with it if

you have a friend or friends with sewing machines I would also recommend trying

to see if they'll let you come over to the house and try out their machine I

would also recommend if you can try out different makes and models don't just go

to one store and be like Oh Baby Lock these are cool that's it test them all

out try out Janome use trout ever sons brothers singers fox Husqvarna marinas

dukey's sale rights like honestly get to sit down and in front of it in front of

as many machines as you can because each brand might feel different or so some

people loved you know me some people hate them some people have loyalty to

different brands and you need to figure out what machine

you feel the most comfortable comfortable with and has the features

you want so if you have a friend who sews see if you can try out the machine

I'm sure they would be happy to let you do that because let's be honest people

who so want more people to so another thing you can do is try to seek out

sewing conventions or Expos in your area there's one called the original sewing

Expo Abilene Expo again all links I'm gonna include as many links as I

possibly can they have workshops you can take classes where they're in sponsored

studios so for instance I've gotten to tryout Bernina x' baby locs all kinds of

different machines just because I signed up for a particular workshop and you get

to really see what these machines are like and you also get an extended period

of time to try them out so I've taken a few three-hour workshops and you get

three hours with the machine to see how you feel about it I've got to try out

like a six thousand dollar baby lock Ovation serger again not something I'm

gonna buy because I don't want to spend six thousand dollars but it was cool to

try out and I got to see what it was like just to use that particular type of

machine so if you are trying to figure things out and you don't know where to

go that's what I would recommend either go to a sewing machine dealer go and go

to more than one go to several different dealerships and see if you like them

again you can because most of the people I know who gets so machines now they're

either at Costco or like sam's club they see a machine and they just buy it

without like really doing any research or they go like me you know I go on

Amazon for everything and I look for good ratings there are other things you

can do to try out sewing machines so that because again it is kind of a big

purchase to commit to even a hundred bucks for people is a lot of money and

there are ways that you can actually try out these machines so sewing machine

dealers friends look for classes in your area where the sewing machine is

provided or like sewing Expos or sewing conventions great places to be able to

actually test drive these machines and kind of see them out in the wild so some

other thoughts I've got about sewing machines now this one the retail price

is about four hundred dollars I have been very impressed with the performance

of the ever sewn sparrow twenty-five I've been using it for over a year and

it's not failed I've never I've not had any issues with it in fact I've never

had a sewing machine that needed to be repaired

maybe it's just me I do so quite a bit but I even my like cheapo Brother serger

that was 200 bucks haven't had a single issue with it so maybe I've been very

lucky but also don't think hey this is gonna need to be serviced all the time

cuz I want to be honest with you I haven't had any real problems with it by

now you're probably thinking general how much should I drop specifically on a

sewing machine I would say it depends on your budget how much you enjoy sewing

what you need to do with the machine if you're just doing real basic stuff you

could certainly get away with getting like an under $200 machine from Brother

for sure if again you're a sporadic Sohus tanned you just want to do simple

stuff if you want to start doing like hardcore quilting you may want to look

in like the Janome skyline series if you're super hardcore and you want to do

long arm quilting those are gonna run you about twenty to thirty thousand

dollars but I would definitely say look at reviews you want a machine that is

fairly decent quality look for metal parts versus plastic also look at

reviews talk to people people about what they like and also think about what

features do you want now here's my caveat I am very averse to debt and

I am a very much a living below your means kind of gal so here on the sewing

report I've decided that I'm not going to do I'm not gonna try to encourage you

or promote doing anything that I wouldn't do and that is going into debt

so I know a lot of sewing machine dealers offer financing I wouldn't go

down that road personally if you do or if you don't have a problem with that

again there's no judgment you can make up your own mind but I see sewing

machines even though I love sewing obviously I still see this as a bit of a

bit of a luxury this is not a necessity I can survive like if I was stuck on a

deserted island and I didn't have a sewing machine you know I I would I

would be able to live probably not not very happily but I would be able to live

so I don't want to promote you doing anything that would wreck your financial

future and a financing a sewing machine if you don't have the cash for it if if

it's me I'm not buying it because I want I want to pay for things in cash so

that's my personal philosophy if you disagree that's totally okay we can't

agree on every single thing under the Sun and I totally understand that but I

just wanted to share my stance with you and kind of why I go that route because

a sewing machine if you if I don't have the money for it I'm just I'm just and

that's my philosophy with everything if I don't have the money for it

I'm not doing it we have decided to not really pay for anything with financing

that includes cars we have no car payments and we recently got out of debt

we don't really want to go back into debt so that's why that's not something

I personally encourage and I'm sorry sewing machine dealers I know you guys

all offer financing but you know this is just my you know personal moral compass

here and I just can't I I can't in all good faith tell you to do something that

I wouldn't do so you won't see that over here here at the sewing report I also

don't discriminate against any particular sewing machine manufacturer I

will talk about any brain from Janome to ever sewn to singer jukey sailrite i'm

if curious to try all of them just because I I think there was different

things to like about each one so I am NOT one of those brand snobs and I've

encountered them in the wild a little bit and sometimes that can be a little

bit frustrating I understand that you might really love something but that

doesn't always mean it's right for someone else or that the other person

might feel that same way about a certain sewing machine maker that you that you

do so I also want to encourage you if you are trying to help someone buy a

sewing machine or you're trying to buy a sewing machine

don't let that influence you just because someone else is like you should

only buy this particular brand you know what you got to figure that out for

yourself so I am not particularly brand loyal to anyone I will talk about

different makers I'll talk about whoever because you know what I don't have any

hi it's AlaskaGranny using a gas barbecue grill it's a great way to get extra nice

flavor out of your favorite meals fun way to cook the problem with using a gas grill we don't

know how much propane is in the tank how much fuel is left I found a propane gauge that you can easily

screw on the propane tank and barbecue in line to let you know how much propane is in your tank the simple propane gauge has two ends one end screws

right on to the propane tank and the other end screws on to the hose from your grill first

you need to turn off your propane tank unscrew the existing hose and add the

inline propane gas gauge fuel level indicator make sure your propane tank is turned off

you take the big black end of the propane tank gauge and screw it right onto your propane tank make sure that

you put it so the gauge is facing where you can read it screw the barbecue hose

on to the other end of the gauge

now turn your propane tank on and your propane gauge will tell you how much fuel is in your

propane tank it's a great way to know that you have

enough propane so that you can finish barbecuing grilling preparing the meals you want on your gas

grill always turn your propane tank off when you're done grilling check out the

inline propane fuel gauge level indicator to know how much propane is in your tank for your gas grill and see if it doesn't help make

your outdoor grilling more successful

How To Remove & Replace Felco Bypass Pruner Blades - Duration: 10:12.

This is a Felco pruner; this one happens to be the number seven, it's got the rolling handle

The number two is probably the most popular one, right? It's it's the same except it doesn't have the rolling handle

We like the rolling handle, right? Yeah, they're terrific. They help with carpal tunnel and also developing calluses on your hands

it should also be mentioned that Felco is really the originator of

this particular design of

Pruners you'll see a lot of copies out there, but there's nothing like a Swiss made Felco pruner

Although, still, I like the ARS.

So, okay, we're gonna show you how to replace the blades. Replacement blades - you can get them on prunerswarehouse.com

They're about fourteen bucks apiece

For both the the cutting blade and the counter blade. These pruners run about sixty bucks. You can get them on Amazon

Okay, we're gonna take this set of number 7s apart. When you buy a pair of these pruners

You're going to get what's called a key that actually comes with the pruner itself. The key has a

Basically a hex head on it for taking the screws out of the handles

You can also use the key as a screwdriver type mechanism here

So what I'll do is I will and sometimes it's very difficult particularly these

Pruners are probably a good ten years old. So getting some of these screws out. It's very difficult with a key if not impossible

so that's where a

Screwdriver comes into play. So what happens if you lose the key? I mean, do you even need it?

You really don't need this key

You know

It's a sort of a nice thing to have you can put it on a keychain if you need to, but it's not absolutely necessary

Okay, because I don't know where mine is. Okay

Yeah, I just happened to find this one. So the first thing we're gonna do is we're gonna take off the

locking mechanism

Which is this particular

piece right here

And again, you want to keep your your parts separate and don't make the mistake of you know

Letting these come apart because you'll have some

Opportunities to figure those out later which isn't - which may not be easy

Then we're gonna do is we're actually going to take the main bolt assembly apart and you can see that

this particular

Stamped metal piece underneath is actually with a lock

Locking mechanism would actually interact with that. So

That's what that piece of stamp metal is below

Okay, so this is your main nut

here's the

piece for the actual lock itself

We're going to take the spring off also known as a volute spring

these are actually nice springs because a lot of dirt doesn't get inside them and

Cause problems. Okay, and this is pretty pretty easy to disassemble. You actually wiggle this thing back and forth

Until it releases from the three pins

Again, these pruners had not been assembled in or disassembled rather in more than ten years

So there you have it. Okay. I finally got them off now

What I would do in this instance is I would definitely clean all this area get all the rust off the pins

so that when I stuck a brand-new pair of

A new blade on there that it wouldn't get hung up

I'd probably lubricate this area a little bit too as well. So you can see

How difficult that was in something that is ten years old. Something that's brand-new, it's gonna slide right onto those pins. No problem

Now here is the counter blade

This one. I've already loosened the screw. That just comes out

Nicely and

Again, you can see from this screw to this screw. You don't want to start messing things up

So I I try to keep things in an orderly fashion, so I know where they actually came. So here's your counter blade

And there's the handle assembly

in this instance

I don't have to take the actual lock off to change either the counter blade or the regular blade or both for that matter

So now that Jack has this taken apart,

We're gonna put it back together

If you were really doing this in real life, you'd be putting new blades on it. This thing would be all nicely cleaned up

We're just gonna put it back together using the parts that we had

And you'll see it's all laid out kind of the way it came

Apart, and that's important because these are a little complicated to put back together. So Jack, where do you start here?

Well, I think where I'm gonna start is I'm gonna put the counter blade back on

So we're gonna do here is, remember I said, it's important to keep the the right screws

In their proper order. I also wanted to show you another neat thing which is called a a

nut

runner or sometimes a nut driver. These are absolutely terrific. This happens to be a

Craftsman and it's a

six millimeter wrench

These are way better than screwdriver

for tightening and untightening

Screws and bolts, so that's that particular piece. All right. So now we're gonna put the

Blade on - the sharp blade. We're gonna line it with the three pins here

Basically it's just a

Press fit you push it on. So that there's actually no gap in between the handle and the blade

All right. The next process is to actually put the

Pruner together with the bolt and this bolt goes in through the backside here

Like so

And you can see that the bolt actually has a square

Pattern that's been manufactured right into it. And this part of the counter blade has a square hole in it

So that that's nice in terms of it'll only go in certain way you can kind of hear it locking in there

Our next thing is to put in the actual locking mechanism itself

that's that plate that I was talking about and

Next we're going to put on the main locking nut

Screw that on

And

The next thing we can do is we can put the spring back in here. It's just a compression spring

So you literally just push on it and put it into the pin right there

Okay. The next thing that we want to do is that we want to tighten up this main

nut right here so that you get the actual proper tension of the blades

You don't want it too loose, so that that you get any play when you take the handles and go back and forth like like this

And you certainly don't want it too tight where the actual pruner

will stay

Partially closed or closed all together

I mean the worst thing you can do. This is a twelve millimeter wrench. It's tighten this thing up and have to force things

It's not how pruners are supposed to work

So what we'll do is I'll loosen this up a little bit

And we'll see. Is there any play there? Yep, still a little bit of play

I'll tighten this up a little bit more

Nope too much. So I'll back off just a little bit. Okay, so that's good. One of the things I didn't mention is lubrication

It's really important that you lubricate in between the two blades here. I recommend using

WD-40, although some people like to use grease. Grease is fine too. So

Cleaning this area in here

And lubricating is very important. Okay. The next thing we're going to do is we're going to put in

the locking

mechanism. This actually locks the main bolt into place

so that

You don't have to keep adjusting

Your pruner tension and again, I like these

These nut drivers a lot better than screwdrivers

So basically I'm going to use that right on top of here and do it nice and tight. So that's completely locked everything together

the

Actual tension of the blade is perfect

Everything feels nice and secure. I want to see if the lock still works on the side here. Yes it does. Keeps them closed

There you go. So now you're all set

You've taken them apart you've changed out

One or both blades and you're back in business

Wow these feel good, yeah

Serena Williams Wants People To Talk About The Fourth Trimester, So What Is It?

Serena Williams believes more new mums should talk about the struggles of the fourth trimester after they give birth.

The 36-year-old, whose daughter Olympia was born in September 2017, has previously spoken about her traumatic birth and has now revealed she suffered from postnatal depression.

"Honestly, sometimes I think I still have to deal with it," she told Harper's Bazaar.

"I think people have to talk about it more because it's almost like the fourth trimester, it's part of the pregnancy.

I remember one day, I couldn't find Olympia's bottle and I got so upset I started crying because I wanted to be perfect for her.".

So what is the fourth trimester?

A full pregnancy is divided into three trimesters, which each lasts between 12-14 weeks.

The term "fourth trimester" is a phrase sometimes used to describe the first six to eight weeks after a baby has been born; a period when women are adjusting to motherhood, dealing with the aftermath of birth and the reality of having a newborn baby.

Elizabeth Duff, senior policy advisor at the National Childbirth Trust (NCT), tells HuffPost UK: "It often takes new mums a while to recover from the physical and emotional demands of pregnancy and childbirth, while at the same time caring for a baby.

This period is sometimes referred to as the 'fourth trimester'.

"[This] can leave mothers feeling emotional, irritable and depressed and there can then be a 'roller-coaster' of ups and downs as the enjoyment of parenthood on some days contrasts with anxiety, fatigue and frustration on others.

Kate Pinney, a Tommy's midwife, says the fourth trimester can sometimes go on for longer than eight weeks and can vary between women: "Each experience is different and can be heavily influenced by many factors such as how you felt during your pregnancy, your labour and birth experience, but also what support networks you have around you.

How may new mums feel during the fourth trimester?

Guilty.

Pinney says Serena's comments about "wanting to be perfect" for her baby are not uncommon as parents often speak about feeling guilty for a variety of reasons, such as not feeling like they are able to settle their baby, having struggles feeding, or not taking their baby to the latest group or activity.

Lonely.

"Early parenthood can also be a lonely place, and for many speaking out about the difficulties of this time is still a taboo," says Pinney.

"Saying that it is tough, is no reflection on how much you love or care for your baby, it is just reality.".

Distant.

For some, bonding with their baby does not always come straight away and that can come as a shock, explains Pinney.

If a mother doesn't experience the rush of love shortly after she gives birth, she may find the next few weeks challenging.

Low.

Pinney says many new mums experience episodes of low mood and changing emotions during this period, often due to a lack of sleep and altering hormones.

Is this linked to postnatal depression?

Duff says if low mood and psychological symptoms worsen, it can be due to something more serious such as postnatal depression (PND) or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

"Recent research by NCT found that half (50%) of mothers experienced emotional problems at some time during pregnancy or within the first year of their child's birth," she says.

What can mums do to make the fourth trimester easier?

- Remember, it doesn't just affect mums.

Parenting author, Sarah Ockwell-Smith, has previously discussed how the fourth trimester can be exhausting because newborns hate being put down in this period of their life.

"Understanding this and treating newborns as if they were still 'in utero' for their first three months of life can make life much easier for new families," she wrote.

She explains how when a mother is pregnant, the baby is in constant physical contact with her.

After the birth, the baby has to get used to lots of different sounds, spend time flat on their back rather than tightly curled and start to experience sensations of hunger and thirst.

She argues, therefore, that women should replicate the baby's "womb world" post birth, which can help reduce the amount of time they spend crying and increase how long they spend asleep, giving parents more time.

- Don't suffer alone.

To combat loneliness, new mums are encouraged to join expectant and new mum groups, which are run through the National Childbirth Trust (NCT).

Branches across the UK organise relaxing and informal get-togethers for new parents.

Many of the groups are free, while others charge only a nominal fee to cover costs.

Depending on the local branch there are separate groups for parents with newborns and groups for toddlers.

Mums should also speak to their health visitor after giving birth about how they are feeling.

Duff says the NCT are campaigning for improvements to the six-week postnatal check-up to reduce the number of mothers who don't get diagnosed and treated properly if they experience PND during the fourth trimester.
