Welcome back and today I have a special guest with me, Eliana.
I'm Mya from Mya Le Styling and today we are going to be talking about how to use Style
to attract love and a long term relationship in our lives and we'll just be sharing a bit
about what we went through and hopefully you'll be able to gain for yourself in your life.
Well thanks so much for having me and asking me to do this with you Mya.
Hi everyone, for those who don't know me, I'm Eliana, Founder of Style by Eliana.
Yes I'm a Personal Stylist and an Image Consultant.
I also like to call myself a self love and confidence advocate.
So for me, I work with professional women, and women that are entrepreneurs and women
who have been through a major change in their life, mainly because that is also what I went
through, so we can relate very well.
And what I do with these women is I help them with their personal styling and personal branding.
It's all about making them look and feel amazing and feeling authentic in the way they look.
Great.
So, when was your first date with your now husband and how did you go about dressing
yourself for your first date to create a specific first impression with him.
So we met online and our first date was about a week after we connected.
And we were going to go to a Mexican restaurant near the beach.
So for me, for the thought of, the time of day, the weather, the atmosphere, what kind
of impression I wanted to make to.

Did I want to dress it up or not?
Do I want to keep it casual?
I wanted to look feminine but show my personality yet not go too over the top.
So for me, for my date, I chose to wear some dark jeans which look really nice at night
time, you can dress up jeans with a really nice top, which was more of a fuschia top,
it was relaly nice, with subtle makeup, subtle jewellery.
And some black wedges that I was wearing in the day.
And obviously that worked as we're still together.
And do you know what he thought of your outfit?
Well I did ask him and he said it didn't blow him away.
I'm like "aww!"
That I looked pretty obviously, that I looked nice but it didn't blow him away.
And I'm like well, it wasn't the scenario...
I could have [dressed over the top], maybe if I think about next time, I would have worn
a dress, a nice wrap dress or something like that that really fits my body shape.
I don't know, I didn't know enough about styling back then.
I would probably dressed up a little bit more, not too much because it's not the scenario.
But I would have liked to maybe look a bit more feminine with revealing too much ladies,
because I don't think revealing too much is very good,it's good to leave some mystery,
especially if what you're after is having a relationship rather than something that
will be short term.
So I think that would be one of my biggest [pieces of] advice.
Keep the mystery and keep it for a while.
You want to tease them, you want them to keep coming back.
You want to show a bit of shoulder, you want to show a bit of leg but don't reveal too
much, don't go too tigh or anything like that.
Just keep it feminine and simple and beautiful and he'll really appreciate it.
I think so and you want to reveal the real you, but you want him to pay attention to
what you're saying and not just focusing on other things.
Yes, because, hey let's face it, they're men and I think the first thing is always the
physical attraction.
So you want to look the part and you want to really stand out.
Yeah, you want them to notice you because you're strangers from across the way and you
want to present yourself in a way that gets noticed.
And comes that personality part where you'll actually find out whether you have things
in common.
But if you really want to make the first impression and think about what you want to wear, stick
to your personality, don't try to be someone that you're not.
Keep it authentic because they'll really appreciate that.
I think also, when you get to know each other and if the first impression doesn't align
with who you are, then the relationship will eventually go off track.
So if you want give a good first impression, put a little bit of effort.
I understand if maybe you were working throughout the day and you need to see him but think
about it in advance... how you want your hair to look... do you want to wear makeup, maybe
you're someone who doesn't necessarily wear makeup which is totally fine, again, you need
to be yourself, you're not going to be someone that you're not.
And your whole outfit, iron your top, or your skirt.
In general, men are very visual, so you want to be intentional, you want them to notice
you, so take care in your presentation and it doesn't need to be over the top like you
said.
Because then they will feel like Wow, this girl made some effort for me, she is actually
is serious about finding someone.
Otherwise you're giving him the message that I don't really care how I look for you, I'm
not really sure if I even want this or not.
So that's a message that you're kind of giving the other person.
And I think it also gives an indication of how you live your life, how you maintain your
home, how you take care of yourself and the people around you so there's that care, I
think you generally care about everything in your life.
and if you're looking for a long term partner, they want to know that they'll be somewhat
taken care of.
I'm just thinking back to my experience of when I was getting to know my now husband,
Richard...
We didn't have a proper first date, we just slowly got to know each other, we were acquaintances
and then I got interested in him and keep asking him to hang out with me and do activities
with me and I just remember dressing very freely and dressing to my personality and
it wasn't so much to impress him but he got to see the real me in that process.
And I asked him recently What was your first impression of me and he said I was a bit dressed
up because I like to dress up, but it also sent a message to him in saying that I know
where I'm at and I'm self aware, and I know what I want and I was intentional but I it
was subtle, I didn't tell him I wanted him to ask me out, but I was on the look out for
a long term partner.
So subconsciously you gave that message.
So when you decide you want to be intentional, and you don't know how to be intentional,
you can contact us.

Because I mean it doesn't come naturally to everybody, but we can help you with is get
clarity about what's your personal style and what are the things you can wear that really
are going to accentuate parts of your body that well make you look and feel much better

you almost feel and look more alive.
It highlights your natural features.
