most of you watching this life will be more scared if I were to have you speak

to a group of 50 individuals than to be killed it actually is a bigger fear for

people to speak publicly than it is to actually transition out of those life

and what I would like to invite you is the opportunity to I'm gonna explore

this today and we'll also explore why that is and I'll give you some clues as

to how to actually overcome that so you can actually feel powerful and confident

and get your message out there so that you are finally delivering the message

you want if we have not met before my name is John Ruman and I'm an

international business coach consultant and corporate trainer but also I speak

constantly and I'm doing courses upcoming about public speaking so one of

the biggest challenges people have is John I get frickin nervous and I do not

know what to do so this live will help you to overcome

that so first of all what are the causes of nervousness well primarily it is a

result of when you are young and you had a situation where you were made to feel

that you embarrassed yourself people laughed at you you felt somehow belittle

or less than usually before the age of seven

the reason is your brain is in the favored receptive mode so most people

after that time have a great deal of fear because many people have one or

more of those emotional experiences if you're one of the rare people who

doesn't have that congratulations and get out there and start speaking if

you're one of the people that does have that let me tell you how I personally

overcome it so first and foremost the easiest way or one of the primary

reasons people feel insecure about public speaking is that they feel that

someone in the audience is judging them that they are why I'm like a hawk

stur syndrome where they feel like why do why should the people out there be

listening to me as well as a myriad of other insecurities so the important

thing is to understand that most everyone has this at some level shape or

form before they go out publicly speaking and even the people who appear

to be in the most confident can often be the most nervous so don't worry about

how the appearances are the important thing is how to make it so that when

you're out there that you can actually overcome this and feel awesome so a few

things that I do that I think would be beneficial for you one know a tremendous

amount of the knowledge of the actual topic at hand so if there is ever a Q&A

section of the talk that you're doing that you're able to answer questions

with confidence that's one and that's a biggie

that will really eliminate most of the impostor syndrome to practice get out

there get your voice heard record yourself do whatever you can anytime you

go for a drive you know take that opportunity to practice practice parts

of your speech I will literally if I have a talk speech whatever practice and

even up until the drive on my way to the location self-talk so when you

especially as you hit the emotional insecurities then they come up when they

pop up when they come and hit you it's important that you use self-talk like I

was born for this and you and you say it's handful of times I would say seven

to ten times and you're gonna say like I got this I am born to give this talk

these people are gonna love me and you're gonna say it over and over and

over again pretty much like a mantra between 60 and 90 seconds after doing

this your brain will begin believing what you are telling it so this is a

great way to overwrite limiting beliefs you have in your life about what you're

going to do is you're going to do this before

like when practicing so your practice has more

confidence and to understand that the more you practice and overcome this

it'll be like a mini practice round and when you actually have the real deal

won't be as big a deal and last but not least is I would encourage you to

practice the Superman or superwoman pose which is quite simply hands on your hips

body tall shoulders relaxed hands on your hips

and you're basically to breathe through your belly and do a timer for seven to

ten minutes this is a great time by the way you could do the self-talk then and

then just have the timer going on your phone and then tell yourself how amazing

you are how much is people gonna love you all that kind of good stuff so very

impactful stuff and practice this if you would like more help with this I am

having you workshop it'll be three hours and it'll be on the date of the 27th of

February 2019 it'll be from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. is

actually gonna be three back-to-back events that day you only have to attend

this at all I'm gonna try to make you attend more than one but if you have an

interest you can this one again is 2 to 5 p.m. the investments 500 TT prepay 600

on the day there's only a handful of spots so if you are interested it

actually may sell out this one had a strong interest last time but also from

12:30 to 1:30 I'm doing a stress management workshop and then I'm doing a

woman's only confidence and self-defense course from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. so we'll

have three back-to-back classes if you're interested in attending more than

one I will have a discount available for you so any other further questions you

have about the public speaking I will post the link to the bottom as a comment

so you can check it out or I'll make it even part of the title so thank you for

watching this and I'm excited to hear about how you are achieving more and

more confidence as you speak please give me feedback

two questions you're having because we all need to overcome the insecurities we

have when speaking and when you do this you will feel more and more confident

and more awesome and more powerful and your message does need to be said and

heard by those in the world so get your message out there get over this come to

my workshop let me help you practice the tools that gave you today and let me

know how awesome you're doing take care I look forward to seeing you one of your

talk someday

FINRA Foundation Debunks Seven Myths About Millennials and Investing During DC Public Forum - Duration: 2:09.

FINRA does a lot of other things outside of regulating

broker-dealer firms. Where like conducting this study

on Millennials we recently did.

-This was just a fantastic

opportunity to get this

information in front of policymakers, as well as

researchers and practitioners.

- I remember being well into my 30s before I even got a

credit card. So I think I have a responsibility to teach the

values of finance.

-I'm just really excited to hear the findings and work on

policy solutions that come out of this that will

help ensure we encourage financial literacy and

financial readiness. Because financial literacy means you

understand it. Financial readiness means you're doing it.

- What I know is that by 2025,

75% of the world's working-age

population will be Millennials. So, it is "the"

generation to look at.

- It's critical we understand the populations we serve. And

so the Millennials research does just that: it busts the

myths that a lot of us have about the population.

Millenials are over-confident in general so they must be

over-confident in investing and we were able to bust that

myth pretty handily, because most Millennials ━ more than

half of them ━ are not particularly confident.

- The over-confidence myth of Millennials is surprising.

You look at a lot of different research and a lot of things

online and appears they are over-confident as the myth

suggests. But, in reality, when it comes to investing, it

might not be so.

- I fall in that category, and I am also a mom, so the

importance of talking about investing at home. I took down

some notes to share with my parents. All the information

is great, and I'm looking forward to digging a bit

deeper and looking at the full study.

- We get suggestions on how to improve the research that we've

done. We get suggestions on how to leverage the

research. Interacting with an audience like this is really,

really helpful to the FINRA Foundation.

Public uncertainty remains over Jehovah's Witnesses' conscientious objection of military service - Duration: 2:44.

that plan by the Ministry of National Defense took a long time to be

formulated it follows months of debate over the terms of alternative service

who's the young shet slide on why such a system is long overdue and what must be

done to preserve it since childhood saw based attorney peg jeonghan was prepared

to go to prison as a Jehovah's Witness he spent six years on trial and 14

months behind bars choosing to serve time rather than the country's military

it was a choice that led to his bar registration being cancelled and put his

marriage on hold but this year Peck has been looking forward to a brighter

future for other conscientious objectors many

of whom he's been working to acquit over the years the Supreme Court last month

made a historic ruling recognizing conscience or religious beliefs as a

justifiable reason to refuse military duties only an estimated nine people

remain in prison for conscientious objection down from the hundreds seen in

recent years it's as though a clique of shame has been removed more than the

time in prison the social stigma sticks the most being perceived as a criminal

and a Nevada of duty personally I don't think the length of alternative service

matters it just shouldn't be military related I hope we can contribute to

social areas that our fellow Koreans need the constitutional court in June

this year called on the government to draft alternative means of service for

conscientious objectors but the conditions have been the subject of

heated debates Human Rights observers have urged authorities to ensure the

alternative service isn't punitive calling for a maximum of around 27

months or 1.5 times the length that the ROK Army soldiers serve as well as

allowing commuting the human right committees position from 1999 which is

essentially that it should be of the same length as military service and any

extra length needs to be based on objective and reasonable criteria and so

we hold to that standard however some local experts and members

of the public have expressed caution given South Korea's unique social and

security situation 1.5 times the militia service is widely considered

short and lenient compared to the daily hardships endured by conscripted men

this could undermine fairness and even caused a surge in the number of

conscientious objectors we can eventually reduce the alternative

service term but we shouldn't set the bar too low from the start a Gallup

survey from 2016 shows most Koreans do not sympathize with conscientious

objection however seven and ten people believe an

alternative system is needed for the objectors also jung Arirang news
