Washington is weighing its options on how to respond to Pyongyang's latest move.

More sanctions are a given, but their effectiveness is highly questionable, with the regime launching

another missile despite having so many already piled up against it.

According to our Lee Unshin, such trend is leading to concerns... if war could be on

the horizon.

The U.S. is "running out of time when it comes to North Korea."

This, according to top Republican Senator Lindsey Graham.

In an interview with CBS, Graham warned that every missile test pushes Washington closer

to a pre-emptive military strike.

His comment echoes those of National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster; who said over the weekend

that the possibility of war with North Korea is increasing every day.

The North's test of an ICBM last week, believed to be able to hit all parts of the continental

U.S., sent tensions soaring.

But reports say Washington officials now believe the missile likely disintegrated while re-entering

the Earth's atmosphere.

(Korean- ) "Washington seems to think North Korea's ICBM

technology is not yet perfected.

Experts say the recent missile likely did not survive re-entry into the atmosphere,

so most officials believe now is not the time for talk of pre-emptive war."

So for the time being, Washington will likely turn to more sanctions aimed at putting economic

pressure on Pyongyang.

According to President Trump, another set of "major sanctions" on the isolated regime

is on its way.

But again, questions remain about whether they will make a difference.

(Korean- ) "At the moment it's expected Washington will

target the North's marine transportation by putting additional sanctions on its trading

companies.

A naval blockade, as a new measure, is also possible.

But without cooperation from China and Russia, it's unclear how effective these sanctions

could be."

New measures on a global scale, including China and Russia, are also expected in the

coming weeks.

The U.N. Security Council will hold a meeting of foreign ministers on the 15th... where

they'll consider what more can be done beyond the waves of sanctions they've already imposed.

General George Washington arrives

at the banks of the Delaware River.

By mid November, Washington's Continental Army

had been pushed out of New York

by British General William Howe,

who then ordered forces under General Cornwallis

to drive Washington across New Jersey.

With attrition and morale low,

Washington's army was in bad shape

by the time he reached the Delaware.

After transporting his forces

across the river to Pennsylvania,

Washington also made a decision

that gave him a major tactical advantage.

He confiscated, or burned, every boat along the river

to prevent the British pursuit.

Content to end the campaign season

and take up winter quarters,

the British withdrew to prepare for the Spring.

Washington however, took the next three weeks

to plan a bold attack.

On the evening of December 25th,

he famously crossed the Delaware yet again,

this time to launch a surprise attack

against Hessian forces quartered in Trenton, New Jersey.

On the morning of December 26th,

Washington managed to overwhelm

the unsuspecting Hessians, and take the town.

While he wouldn't hold it for long,

his victory nonetheless raised the spirits

of the American Revolutionaries,

and paved the way for Independence.

North Korea Crisis: Washington, Seoul launch "biggest-ever combined airforce exercise" - Duration: 1:43.

It is the biggest-ever combined airforce exercise.

The United States and South Korea have begun deploying two dozen stealth jets,

and twelve thousand U.S.soldiers,

for five days of practice exercises.

But the South Korean government said the program, dubbed "Vigilant Ace"

is just an annual practice run that occurs every fall.

"This is a military drill that is held on a regular basis,

to enhance and strengthen the U.S. and South Korea joint and strategic military performance."

Pyongyang says they are seriously considering counter-measures.

State television says the exercises "have brought them to the brink of war".

Yet some believe North Korea may not respond.

"North Korea is more likely to take a deep breath and observe the situation,

rather than taking action."

The war games could push an already tense climate to fever pitch.

Donald Trump's security advisor said this week-end

that the threat of war with Kim Jong-un's regime is "growing daily".

"There are ways to address this problem short of armed conflict,

but it is a race because he's getting closer and closer."

and there's not much time left."

The U.S.-South Korea drills come on the heels of another North Korean missile launch last Wednesday,

one that used a new missile that went higher than previous ones.

And Pyongyang says the test missile could one day

be tipped with a nuclear warhead.

One capable of striking anywhere in the U.S.

Washington is now considering sites across the country

to set up new anti-missile defense systems.
