Without further ado, here are the three "unconventional" relationship rules that you must know...

Relationship Rule #1: You Must NEVER Say You Love Her.

Let's say you tell her you LOVE her every day, and that you cannot live without her.

You start your day by telling her you LOVE her to bits.

And then, throughout the day, you call and text her telling how much you LOVE her.

During dinner, gaze lovingly into her eyes and declare your UNDYING LOVE to her.

Before you go to bed, kiss her goodnight, and you guessed it, say "I LOVE YOU FOREVER."

A little extreme, I know, but guess what?

If you do that, you'll pretty much send the relationship to hell.

Now consider the opposite: You make her GUESS if you're (still) in love

with her.

You keep her on her toes.

You HINT to her that you love her, and at the same time you APPEAR to have fallen out

of love with her.

Remember...

Intrigue is a very important component of a relationship which lasts.

If you show your cards then there's no more Intrigue left... and this will pretty much

sap the excitement out of the relationship.

And guess what?

A relationship which doesn't have much excitement and intrigue will not last very long.

Makes a lot of sense, right?

Inside Shogun Method there's a Precondition which goes like this:

How can we have a relationship with God? | The Weekly - Duration: 2:20.

- Hey, one of the things I love about the scripture

is that God's made it so simple and so clear on how

we can have a relationship with him.

Hey, this is Jeremy with today's encouraging word.

In the midst of our sin, in the midst of our brokenness

that separates us from a Holy God, knowing we can't earn

our way to Heaven, we can't work hard enough to get

to Heaven, God did what we can't do ourselves,

and that's he sent Jesus Christ, fully God, fully human,

to go to the cross in our place, to die for our sins

that we can have access to a Holy God, a relationship

with a Holy God.

God has made it that simple and that easy and yet,

for us to do that, it's not comfortable.

Here's why.

Jesus put it this way.

In Luke 9: 23-24, "if anyone would come after me,

"let him deny himself and take up his cross daily

"and follow me."

"For whoever would save his life will lose it,

"but whoever loses his life or my sake will save it."

I love those words of Jesus, because he's saying,

you cannot be comfortable and in control

and follow me.

In other words, we have to surrender our wants,

our desires, our priorities.

Why, because those all change and they become the priority

of Jesus, the wants of Jesus, the desire of Jesus.

I encourage you with this because so many Christians

want to give their life to Jesus Christ

but remain in control and that's not

what the scripture says.

The scripture says that when we follow Jesus Christ,

he's in control of everything.

So today, I just want to encourage you by asking you,

where do you need to give God control of your time,

your talents, your treasure, your thoughts,

your attitude, anything?

Is there any area of your life where you say, you know what,

for me to truly follow Christ, according to the scriptures,

I just need to surrender control.
