sup hello I'm hoppy pixel and thank you so
kindly for stopping by now why am I talking about Kingdom Come deliverance I
don't know I just wanted to talk about it do we want to call this a review sure
let's call this a review welcome to a review of Kingdom Come deliverance now
before I start reviewing Kingdom Come here's a quick little synopsis or
description of what Kingdom Come deliverance is Kingdom Come deliverance
is a realistic medieval RPG that takes place in I believe around the 1400s out
in some place in Europe I believe it's Bavaria and during this time there is a
internal conflict between King and King and you the player you play as some
you're a nobody living in in in a poor village your father's a blacksmith I
mean things are terrible or you're not the most well-off either you just a
nobody your average Joe now while you're being a nobody throwing poop at houses
and crap like that your village is attacked by an unknown army that is
being controlled by the other King that's trying to take over your king
it's a realistic Middle Ages RPG that's all you need to know I'm gonna start off
by saying that the game is very good it is a very good game but there are a few
things that hold it from being a superb game and you can't talk about this game
without somehow comparing it to the Elder Scrolls Skyrim or The Witcher 3 I
would say The Witcher 3 even more because The Witcher 3 set a new
precedent or a new standard for RPGs that I have still yet to see someone
come as close to getting as good as that what would that being said the first
thing I noticed with the game is how beautiful the world is it's not overdone
like it doesn't feel like a fake fantasy world it feels like the real world it
feels like actual place which is funny because I
actually think from one understand the location that they designed the game is
based off an actual location so that's really cool so instantly visually it's
beautiful it's a beautiful game but that's not to say that the game
graphically doesn't have flaws let's be honest RPGs are the most immersive types
of games because they're about living that character's life they're about
managing your everyday tasks and talking to people getting to know characters
being tossed into a world that you've never been in and you have to invest
your time into that character and living that character's life throughout the
game so in that respect RPGs tend to be more of an immersive experience and
because of that it's important that visually you are making that point it's
a weird way of saying that but if I'm having a conversation with another
character and his mouth who live in is doing this you know I could review a
game all day like this you know would you want to watch that no
no that's actually a flaw of Kingdom Come is some of the animations they're a
little bit off they're not finessed they just feel kind of clunky but at the same
time the graphics are absolutely beautiful and like the character faces
and stuff like that they all look great but if the animation doesn't match the
aesthetic of the visuals it kind of brings it down and another thing that I
noticed with the game that was kind of unfortunate was that the world itself
like when you go into castles and stuff while it is beautiful it sometimes feels
stagnant it doesn't feel very alive I don't know if it's the lack of people
that are walking around town it just doesn't feel like the environment is
alive when you were in certain towns and stuff like that when you're out in the
wilderness or you're at those little villages and stuff like it all feels
great but once you get into a castle or a major populated area like I
want to see people talking to each other I want to see people you know getting
fistfights in the alleys I want to see like flies flying around dead animals
and carcasses and just like a lot more happening and I'm sorry to compare it to
The Witcher 3 but if you look at the Witcher 3 you go into a town there is so
much happening the world is alive you have people walking all over the markets
there's people dancing laughing crying you know it's the world is alive and
because of that it feels like you are there and I feel like Kingdom Come
deliverance can and should think about trying to push that a little bit further
so that's my first initial thought visually in immersiveness now combat of
the game the gameplay itself well I think it could be a little bit more
fluid it kind of complements the game the way that it is because it is
realistic and having an actual sword in real life you're taking a sort and
you're gonna swing it at someone here is wait there so it's not just like a jaw I
don't know if you guys have ever held an actual medieval sword that shit is
freaking heavy and they have to be because they got a cut so the combat is
very intuitive it's I haven't seen combat like this ever before it's very
realistic in the aspect that you can actually position your sword to wherever
you want to swing at your opponent and you can actually trick your opponent to
swing at you from a certain way and you can repair a deflect so on and so forth
well I do think that they could make certain things of it a little bit more
fluid overall it's pretty solid and it's interesting and it's fun now the story
of the game I would say is kind of its kind of your typical avenge revenge
story but it's done in a very sophisticated way the dialogue in the
cutscenes and stuff is super sophisticated it's very very OnPoint
fear of times right like I felt like I was watching a movie
Jesus st. Peter this is all I need we'd have to send word to Sirach that
might not be necessary who are you I'm Henry of Scarlets in the service of
Hannah's captain Burnet I'm investigating the attack at noise off
and I think this could be related well I'm the bailiff of our shits and I say
we don't want any of that kind of trouble around here what makes you think
this has anything to do with Millie health some of the dialog moments do
have some weird quirks in them like if you're actually selecting items in the
list to have a conversation with someone you could ask someone a certain question
the answer and then you ask a different question and then they'll answer that
different question with the same answer that they had answered previously and
that's kind of weird but needless to say overall I feel like the dialogue and the
voice acting is pretty on point overall you can tell that these developers put
their heart and soul into this game and it shows because the game has character
it's definitely geared towards a certain gamer this is not a game for the gamers
that are trying to fulfill their wishes in the next Elder Scrolls game it's not
like that it's brutal it's hard it's realistic and it's not
gonna appeal to everyone it's almost like Call of Duty fan trying to fill his
inner Call of Duty void with ARMA doesn't really work but my first initial
thoughts of the game over I played for about 8 hours I think and I loved it
I love the game it's got heart and salt that you can tell that these guys have
put a lot of hard work into it there's just some there are a few kinks in the
game and I think and I hope that they fix and even though they may sound like
finicky things some of them really aren't because some of them actually
pull you out of the immersion and that is what to make a game great or can kill
a game the saving system come on really I have to find schnapps I have to
find schnapps to save my game but like what if something comes up like this I
have to like get in the car and I have to pick somebody up or something I have
to leave I can't just save and quit come on man
almost died I'm choking on coffee yes I love Kingdom
Come I give it like a b-minus because it's above average but it's not an A
because there are certain things about it that holding it back from being that
superb game over time they may address those things and they do you may have a
superb game down the road so that's all I gotta say about Kingdom Come
deliverance guys thank you so much for watching I hope to see you next time in
as always take it easy
