Mollie King has been in the public eye since 2007 – although she tried her luck numerous times prior – and shes now gracing our TV screens on Strictly Come Dancing.

The 30-year-old knows a thing or two about the fame game, having been a member of girlband The Saturdays from 2007 to 2014. But long before her days in the music scene, Mollie nearly carved a name for herself as a skier.

Mollie was a keen skier and made it onto the British Childrens Ski Team, receiving a scholarship into the British Ski Academy. She ended up racing for Great Britain, making it onto the British Alpine squad.

However, Mollie, who was also a finalist for Miss Guildford at the age of 18, decided to turn her back on a sports career to pursue her absolute dream of becoming a pop star.

She originally tried to find music fame on The X Factor, auditioning in 2005 at the age of 18 but being told by Sharon Osbourne she was too young.

She returned two years later in 2007 as a member of girl group Fallen Angelz. They made it to the boot camp stage of the competition before being sent home.

But all was not lost for Mollie as that same year, she was snapped up for The Saturdays alongside Vanessa White, Frankie Bridge, Una Healy and Rochelle Humes.

During the bands seven-year reign, King enjoyed 13 top-ten hits, eight top-five singles and a UK No.1 with What About Us. They also enjoyed success with five top-ten albums in the UK Albums Chart.

In 2015 – one year after the girls went on hiatus – she signed a solo deal with Island Records but didnt go on to release her debut solo single in 2016.

Her second solo track was released earlier this year, just in time to coincide with her stint on BBC TV show Strictly Come Dancing.

Following in her former bandmate Frankies footsteps, Mollie is now heading to the semi-final this weekend, alongside fellow celeb hopefuls Alexandra Burke, Debbie McGee, Gemma Atkinson and Joe McFadden.

They have been seen kissing, canoodling and even snogging while training, a source said. Its still very early days and they are not officially dating or in a relationship, but theres a real chemistry and attraction between them.

Everyone is talking about it backstage and they are desperate for them to become a couple.

However the source added that it was very early days – and they were uncertain whether they would take things to the next level and make it official once the series is over.

He is much younger than her and Mollie tends to go for older, mature men, the insider explained.

Mollie and 23-year-old AJ will take to the Strictly dancefloor in a bid to reach the final with two routines – a waltz and a samba – this Saturday night.
