News on Youtube Feb 24 2018

okay guys here is my indoor catfish aquaponics system okay so I'm gonna do a

little update here on my channel catfish that I've got in the fish tank here

these guys are supposed to go outside into the aquaponic system that's in the

greenhouse however he's the following you know that the greenhouse is not done

yet and I still got a ways to go so anyway I've got a little indoor

aquaponics system type deal going on here

this is just nothing but a lid that's the lid to this styrofoam cooler three

bucks at one more for the whole thing and basically I just poke some holes in

it and I have some onion chives that is perfectly rare but they kind of ran

their course these um I think they're called Punk though basically it's just

some fell plant that we got and put some feeders off of that one put them in here

no compound enough and just anyway it's looking pretty happy in this monitor

okay so it took straight-up twelve weeks almost to the day before the tanks

cycled itself I lost quite a few fish but I've learned a lot about just a

cycling process itself plus I've had time to watch these fish and just watch

their behavior so even though I got the fish before I was ready to put these

fish in the system that I have not built yet in my greenhouse outside that still

isn't finished I've learned a lot just by watching these guys these fish cycled

this water so there was a lot of time that they went without regular feeding

so I don't know that I might have stunted their growth that that is a

possibility the fish went for a long time without feeding so now that

everything's cleared up all my levels are reading zero as far as ammonia

nitrites and nitrates so now I'm at a good point where I'm going to start

keeping track of what I'm feeding them day by day Kim calibrated at zero let's

see how much these fish fillet

okay that weighs seven grams I think seven grams is probably pretty close to

what these other guys are doing way to fish one is at seven grams the other one

looks like it's at three grams a three gram fish is definitely by far the

smallest fish in the tank once I do the numbers that comes out to two point five

two grams of food per day that I should be feeding this these fish the most that

I have fed them in the last week is kind of I've been weighing out of gram and

then kind of just give me a little about half a gram a day just to slowly

introduce food back into the system I'm gonna work my way up to two and a half

gram so about two weeks ago I started using it just build up on the sides of

the tank I've gone in there and wiped it off like two times and it just started

coming back so about three days ago we got some albino flick awesomeness

there's one right there behind the filter kind of hard to see it they

cleaned up this part of the wall real good just a few hours the Sun that we

get you know just a little bit of I mean this just it's enough Sun to where it's

causing a problem but I think that we got the plecos in there yeah they keep

it under control this is nothing to take too seriously but I'm just gonna play

around with it and see what I can do so anyway guys at this point I'm gonna

start feeding these fish and working my way up to two and a half grams I'm gonna

try and get some probably get some herbs or something that can grow in here some

basil or something I don't know but I'll make a couple of days I'm gonna try and

get something else going in here and I'll keep you posted

DIY Corsage | Simple How To Tutorial For Spring Dances - Duration: 8:03.

Hey Guys, This Corsage turned out so well.

I made it for my daughter for her little dance tonight and I had to share it with you.

So all your'e going to need is an old corsage box (but that's just for presentation) any

kind of flowers will do.

I happen to be using wood flowers and faux flowers, a glue gun, glue sticks, a hair tie,

any kind of ribbon will do, the spray paint and this little wood piece are optional.

You could literally use a business card cut in half and glue it to that or anything which

basically makes somewhat of a stable surface to sit on the wrist.

Then your'e going to take this little hair tie, and my daughter's dress has silver in

it, so that's why I am using that.

I am going to use this little wood thing and just spray paint it.

Next, I am going to pull some of the living flowers (well, not really) but rather some

of flowers from this old Valentine's Day bouquet just to kind of give it a more realistic feel.

You are just going to cut the tips of your flowers off, and in the beginning, I would

recommend leaving a little bit of space like that so that you can bend them if you need

to.

Then just kind of go through your old bouquet and pull out what you think is looks the best

still.

Then, the first step is to hot glue your hair tie.

Now, you want to make sure that the tied side is on the top, as in would sit above the wrist

line, because that's going to be kind of clunky and you wouldn't want that showing.

Also, it's not going to show once it's buried under all of the flowers.

Make sure that you have a good thick line of hot glue there and then just go ahead and

press that band in.

I just use this little wooden card that I have to press everything in because hot glue

is the worst thing to get on your fingers.

It just burns so bad, but anyways (laughter).

Go ahead and press this in and let it dry for a second.

That's the little thing that you can see that I spray painted that color just in case somebody

sees it from the bottom.

Now, any kind of ribbon will do, but I happened to have white some white laying around so

that's what I am using.

You are going to kind of make a loop.

You can be pretty loose about the size, but just make sure that it comes out wider than

whatever flowers you think you are going to use.

Go ahead and cut them.

I think my strips ended up being about 5 or 6 inches long, so I just did about six rough

cuts here.

That's what you see me doing.

Then once you cut all of those, you don't have to be super worried about lining them

up, because at the end you can just take them, push them all together and give them one clean

swipe.

Then that way you know that you are working with loops that are all the same size.

There you go.

Now, I used my little friend Mr. Avocado as a stand in arm, because I only just have the

two and I need them both.

It's about the same size as my daughter's little arm and it just happened to work out.

I am just positioning this on top.

Then the first thing that you are going to do is that you are going to take those little

pieces of ribbon and you are going to glue all of the ends together.

You should have 6 in total when you are done.

This is where you kind of just get creative and basically do whatever you want.

I just kind of cross laid them so that it would sort of come out in a star or flower

like pattern.

You can put them any way that you want.

The best thing to do is probably look up some pictures of corsages for inspiration and then

you can just kind of place them around.

Again, what I love about this project is not only was it super fast and easy, but there

is no pressure.

There is no measuring and getting everything so specific.

So, you can see I am being sort of fast and loose with this ribbon here, because again

none of this is going to show.

If you feel like it's sitting out too wide, just move it.

You know, you have a few seconds before it gets really hard.

So, here's the forth one.

Then you are going to lay the two across.

You will see that a lot of corsages do have this as the underpinning.

Um, it does help it to look a little bit more polished and a little bit more elegant.

You can totally skip this step, but I wanted to do it because my daughter is 8 and she

loves anything frilly and shiny.

Alright there you go, and that's basically where you should be at.

Then the next step, you are going to start taking any of that foliage, the baby's breath

or whatever you have.

If you happen to have faux flowers, great, even better, use those because they are not

going to fall off.

These were breaking off everywhere, um and when I finished filming, I had to spray them

with a stiffener.

You just kind of lay them on there any way that you like.

You can change the pattern.

If you feel like, "Oh, I don't really love that. That particular leaf is not working for

me."

Just cut it off and then there you go.

You can see, I am just sort of playing around here, moving stuff and now I going to put

on the actual leaves.

I put the leaves sort of where they would face her body, but you can put them wherever

you want.

Than this is where I start to add the flowers in this layer.

Now, I tried to push it in and under sort of, because I thought that would make it hold

better and then kind of bend it up.

These wood flowers, that really did not work for me.

I was doing it and I was kind of like, "Oh, this is sitting up to high.

I don't love it."

The reason I didn't edit it out is because I just wanted to show you.

Ok, you take it out.

Cut the base off, or the stem off, excuse me.

Then just hot glue it right on to your little area that you are working on.

You know, that's where you can really just be very creative and put together and kind

of a design that you want, which is why this is so wonderful.

You're just going to stick that on there, and try to do it, imagine that you were doing

it in quarters.

Like you are building a square with flowers.

That's what you see me doing here.

I am kind of alternating between pink and white, pink and white.

I think at first that this is going to make it full enough.

Then when I'm really actually done, I feel like there is a little bit of space here and

I wanted it to be very full so that I would have that blooming kind of an effect.

Even right there, it's so beautiful.

I think I could have stopped right there and been just fine.

I'm kind of just pushing everything together.

I'm having a look and trying it on.

Sorry, avocado, you're out of here (snicker) and then we just use the wrist.

We're having a look and I'm looking at it and I'm feeling like, "Oh these things are

sticking out too far.

I don't love that."

It wouldn't bother me as an adult, but she is so little that I think it would sort of

overtake her.

I just kind of cut them back and reglued them and pushed them in further.

Then they look very very full and I just think it's more appropriate for her little wrist.

So that's what you see me doing here.

I'm just going back and kindof fixing that and pushing everything together.

This is where I kind of decide, "No, this thing needs a little more oomph factor.

You know what?

She has silver on her dress, so let's add some silver."

You notice that that hair band that I used was also silver.

I'm just going to take this extra white flower that I have laying around and some silver

spray paint and I will be right back.

There you go, voila!

Make sure to spray inside the flower to.

Then you are going to do the exact same thing here.

You are just going to apply the hot glue.

I pushed mine in to the center just to kind of make it pop.

Then, there you go.

You have your finished corsage.

It is so beautiful.

I kind of feel guilty for all the years that I have paid obscene amounts of money for these

things.

That will not be happening anymore (laughing).

She will be getting homemade ones.

It just looks so elegant against her dress.

I am just in love with it.

In fact, she hasn't even seen it yet because the dance is tonight.

I'm just trying it on for her.

Don't tell her...shhh.

I think it's very very pretty and I'm sure she's going to fall in love with it.

Learn ALL TENSES Easily in 30 Minutes - Present, Past, Future | Simple, Continuous, Perfect - Duration: 31:23.

Hello, and welcome.

In this lesson, I'm going to teach you all of the tenses in the English language.

For each tense, I'll show you the form, its different uses, and I'll share with

you example sentences to help you fully understand it.

So, if you're ready, let's begin.

Before we get into the lesson, here's a chart showing all the tenses.

There are three times – present, past, and future.

And four aspects – simple, continuous, perfect, and perfect continuous.

The times and the aspects combine to make all of the twelve tenses in English.

The present time and the simple aspect make the present simple tense.

Then, we have the present continuous, present perfect, and the present perfect continuous

tenses.

In the same way, we can make tenses with the past and future times as well.

We're going to discuss all of these in this lesson.

So, let's begin with the first tense – the present simple.

We make the present simple tense with a subject (like I/You/We/They/He/She/It) and a verb

in the present (or the V1) form.

For example: "I drink coffee every morning."

"Cathy works as a teacher."

Notice that in sentence number two, we have "works" with an "s".

In the present tense, if the subject is I, You, We or They, we use a verb without -s.

That's why "I drink".

If the subject is He, She, or It, we add -s to the verb.

"Cathy" is a female name, it's like saying "she", so we've said, "Cathy

works".

Now, the first sentence here talks about a habit or a routine, something that I do regularly.

The second sentence is a fact – "Cathy works as a teacher" is a fact about her

life.

These are the two main uses of the present simple tense.

Here are a few more examples of habits and routines: "Shawn goes to the beach on Sundays."

"Children often play video games after school."

And here are some more facts: "You sing very well."

(it's said as a fact about someone's ability) "Water boils at 100° C." Notice that

this last sentence is a fact about the world, so facts can be about people, or they can

be about things in the world.

So, that is the present simple tense.

The next tense is the present continuous.

We make the present continuous tense with a subject + am/is/are + a verb in the continuous

or -ing form.

We say, "I am", "He/She/It + is", and "You/We/They + are".

For example: "I'm drinking coffee right now."

This sentence shows the first use of the present continuous: to talk about actions happening

now, at the time of speaking.

This is not a general statement; it's not about my coffee-drinking habit.

It's about what's happening at this moment: I'm drinking coffee now.

Here are two more examples: "We are having breakfast."

"It is raining outside."

These sentences also express what is happening now.

This is the first use of the present continuous; the second use is to talk about temporary

activities.

Like: "Arun is learning to play the guitar."

It means Arun is taking guitar lessons, maybe twice a week.

So, he is in the process of learning to play the instrument.

A couple more examples: "I am watching a really interesting TV series at the moment."

"My sister is staying with us for a couple of weeks."

The third use of the present continuous is to describe changes that are taking place

or happening now.

"English lessons on YouTube are becoming very popular."

It means that the popularity of English lessons on YouTube is increasing.

Here are some more examples: "The price of crude oil is falling rapidly."

"Scientists say that the Earth is getting warmer."

So, remember that the present continuous tense is used to talk about actions happening now,

temporary activities, and changes that are taking place.

Alright, so we've discussed the present simple and present continuous tenses.

Let's now talk about the past simple and past continuous.

Past simple first.

We make the past simple tense with a subject and a verb in the past (or the V2) form.

This tense is used to talk about completed actions in the past.

For example: "I played soccer with my friends last Saturday."

"Karen gave us a present for our wedding anniversary."

The verb in the first sentence is "play".

We make the past form by adding -ed to it.

We do this for most verbs.

But some verbs have special past forms; you see that in sentence number two: "gave"

–this is the past tense of the verb "give".

We say "give", "gave", "given".

"Given" is the past participle or V3 form.

These types of verbs are called irregular verbs; there are no rules for making past

forms with them, so you have to memorize the correct forms.

You see some examples on the screen, but of course, there are many more in English.

Alright, here are some more past simple tense sentences: "We received the package this

morning."

"My grandfather built this house in 1968."

"Antonio lived in Malaysia for five years."

OK, let's now move on and talk about the past continuous tense.

Here's a sentence first: "I was having dinner with my family when the doorbell rang."

We're going to put this sentence on a timeline.

That side is the past, in the middle is now, and over on that side is the future.

Our sentence says, "I was having dinner with my family" – this shows an unfinished,

ongoing action in the past.

So, I was in the middle of having dinner, and something happened: the doorbell rang.

So, I had to put down my spoon and fork, get up from my table, and go and see who it was.

So, the past continuous tense talks about an unfinished, ongoing action in the past.

And, normally, we also mention another finished action that interrupted it.

#NAME?

We say "was" for the subjects I/He/She/It, and "were" for You/We/They.

If we mention a finished action that interrupted the continuous action, it is in the past simple

form – subject + past tense verb (like "the doorbell rang").

Here are a few more sentences: "It was raining when Priya left for work."

(So, she had to take an umbrella with her) "The power went out while the children were

studying."

(Here, we mention the continuous action second – the children were studying, and the single,

finished action first – the power went out) "While we were waiting at the bus stop,

we saw a car accident."

(Thankfully, nobody got hurt.)

OK, that's it for the past continuous tense.

But, before we move on to the next tense, let's do a quick comparison of the four

tenses we've looked at so far.

"I drink coffee every morning."

Is in the present simple tense.

As you can see on the timeline now, this sentence expresses a habit or a routine, something

that happens regularly.

"I am drinking coffee right now."

Is in the present continuous tense.

It means that I am doing this action (drinking coffee) at this moment.

"I drank coffee yesterday."

Expresses a finished action in the past – that coffee is gone.

So, this sentence is in the past simple tense.

And in the last sentence: "I was drinking coffee this morning when I got a phone call

from my boss."

We see two actions.

One is an unfinished, continuous action – "I was drinking coffee" (that's a past continuous

form) and in the middle of that, something happened – "I got a phone call from my

boss."

That is a past simple tense form.

So, my boss said, "We need you at the office.

It's important.

Get here right now."

And I had to throw out my coffee and rush to work.

Anyway, let's move on.

We're now going to look at the present perfect tense.

#NAME?

or V3 form.

We say "have" if the subject is I/You/We/They and "has" if the subject is He/She/It.

For example: "I have taught English to many students."

"Ashley has visited France four times."

"We have seen two movies this week."

The present perfect tense has two main uses.

These sentences show the first use: to talk about experiences.

Sentence number one is about my experience in my teaching career.

Of course, I'm still a teacher, so my career is not finished; it's continuing.

We CAN say "I have taught English to many students in my career."

But that's not necessary; it's understood.

Similarly, "Ashley has visited France four times in her life", so the time period here

is Ashley's life (which is still ongoing).

In the third sentence, the time period is this week.

Maybe today is Wednesday, so this week is not finished; we might see another two movies

before the end of the week.

So, in these sentences, the time period is continuing or ongoing – my career, Ashley's

life, and this week.

But, if the time period is finished, we just use the past simple tense: "I taught many

students when I was a teacher."

In this sentence, my career is over.

It means I'm not a teacher now; I was for some time.

During that time, I taught many students, but then I quit that line of work and became

a pop singer.

"Ashley visited France in 2015."

(2015 is in the past) "We saw two movies last week."

(again, last week is gone) So, this is the first use of the present perfect – to discuss

experiences in continuing, ongoing time periods.

The second use is to talk about recent actions or events.

For example: "I have finished my homework."

You can imagine a kid saying this to her mom.

Well, when did she finish her homework?

Maybe 5 or 10 minutes ago.

But, that's not important – the important thing is the completion of the homework.

You see this on the timeline now – the girl finished her homework just a few minutes ago,

but she's not saying the specific time because it's not necessary (that's why there's

a question mark – no mention of the time).

Here's another sentence: "Arthur has lost his glasses."

We don't say when because the important thing is that now, Arthur doesn't have his

glasses.

One more example: "The police have arrested a young man in connection with the robbery."

So, there was a robbery in the neighborhood recently, and now the police have a young

suspect in custody.

The exact time of the arrest is not important.

In all of these sentences, if you want to mention the specific time, you should use

the past simple tense.

"I finished my homework at 6.30 p.m." "Arthur lost his glasses at the party."

(the party was maybe last weekend, so this is all old news) "The police arrested a

young man last night in connection with the robbery."

So, remember that there are two main uses of the present perfect tense: to talk about

experiences and to talk about recent events.

Alright, now let's move on to the next tense: the present perfect continuous.

We make the present perfect continuous tense with a subject + have/has been + a verb in

continuous (or -ing) form.

If the subject is I/You/We/They, we use "have".

If the subject is He/She/It, we use "has".

For example: "I have been waiting to see the doctor for two hours."

You can imagine this lady saying that.

So, it means that she came to the clinic maybe at 5 o'clock, and now it's seven o'clock.

She started waiting at five; two hours have now passed, and she is still waiting.

So, the present perfect continuous tense talks about an action that started in the past and

is still continuing.

In this sentence, we can also say, "I have been waiting since five p.m."

The difference between "for" and "since" is that "for" talks about the amount of

time like two hours.

"Since" is used to mention the starting point of the action like five p.m.

Here is another sentence: "He has been playing tennis since he was a child."

He started when he was little (maybe when he was five years old), and he still plays

tennis.

Let's say he's 25 now, so "He's been playing tennis for 20 years."

A few more examples: "She has been learning English for eight months / since last October."

"We've been living in this town for a very long time / since 1980."

"It has been raining all morning / since 4 a.m."

Now here, the duration is "all morning".

In fixed phrases like "all morning, all day, all week" etc. we don't use "for".

But you can say, "since 4 a.m." if you want to mention the starting point.

I want to alert you to a common mistake here.

If you say, "I am waiting to see the doctor for two hours" or "He is playing tennis

since he was a child", those are not correct.

You can say, "Right now, I am waiting to see the doctor" or "He is playing tennis".

But when you mention the amount of time (like two hours), or when you mention the starting

point (like since he was a child), you must use the present perfect continuous tense.

This is true with the other sentences here as well.

So, keep this point in mind.

Alright, so this is the present perfect continuous tense.

Let's move on to the next tense – the past perfect.

Before we talk about this tense, take a look at this past simple tense sentence.

"When we got to the theater, the movie started."

There are two past actions in this sentence: "got to the theater" which means "we

arrived there", and "the movie started".

You can see in the timeline that we got to the theater first, and then, right after that,

the movie started playing.

But what about this sentence: "When we got to the theater, the movie had started."

That means the movie started before we got to the theater.

So, the movie started first, then we arrived.

This is the past perfect tense: we make it with a subject + had + a verb in past participle

(or V3) form.

When we have two actions in the past, we use the past perfect to clearly show which action

happened first.

Here's another example: "I was sick because I had eaten too much the previous night."

Two actions: "I was sick" and "I had eaten too much the previous night".

Which happened first?

"I had eaten too much food", then the next day, "I was sick".

Next example: "The girl looked very familiar.

I had seen her somewhere before."

First, "I had seen her somewhere before" (maybe a few years before), so "she looked

very familiar".

"Joel rushed to his boss's office, but she had gone home already."

"She (meaning the boss) had gone home already", so when Joel rushed to see her, she wasn't

there.

As you can see, the past perfect tense is really easy; just remember that when we have

two past actions, we use the past perfect if we want to clearly indicate which happened

first; we do this to avoid confusion in the order of events.

Alright, let's turn to our next tense now: this is the past perfect continuous.

This tense is just like the past perfect simple, except the first past action is continuous.

For example: "I felt really tired because I had been driving all day."

So, you know that I felt tired at some point in the past.

And that was because before that, "I had been driving" that entire day.

So, the earlier past action was a continuous one.

We make this tense with a subject + had been + a verb in continuous (or -ing) form.

Here's another sentence: "She had been waiting for two hours when the doctor finally

arrived."

Remember that lady who was waiting for the doctor?

Well, the doctor came, so her wait ended, but before that point, "she had been waiting

for two hours."

Here, the past perfect continuous form comes first in the sentence, but that's OK.

Some more examples: "The ground was wet because it had been raining."

"It had been raining" first, and so, the ground was wet.

"When he quit his job at the factory, he had been working there for 12 years."

So, remember that the present perfect continuous tense is used to talk about a continuous action

in the past before another finished action.

Alright, it's time now for another review.

We're going to do a quick comparison of the four perfect tenses we've looked at

so far.

"I have washed the dishes."

Is in the present perfect tense.

It focuses on the completion of the action and doesn't mention the exact time.

But you understand that I finished washing the dishes maybe just a few minutes ago.

"I have been washing the dishes for half an hour."

Is in the present perfect continuous tense.

It means that I have not finished washing them yet.

I started half an hour ago, and I'm still doing it.

"When I left for work, I had washed the dishes."

Here, "I had washed the dishes" is in the past perfect tense.

It means that first I finished washing them, and after that I left for work.

"When the phone rang, I had been washing the dishes for half an hour."

So, the phone rang at some point in the past.

Half an hour before that I started washing the dishes, and I was still doing that when

the phone rang.

So, I stopped, wiped my hands dry, and I went to answer the phone.

Alright, now we move on to talking about the future.

The first tense for us to look at is the future simple.

Now, this tense is a little tricky because there are a few different future simple forms.

The three most important are going to, the present continuous (using an -ing verb), and

will.

Let's talk about where to use these.

We use "going to" to express plans and intentions.

We make this form with a subject + am/is/are and then going to + a verb in its base form.

For example: "We are going to buy a car."

That means we have a plan to buy a car soon.

"I am going to start exercising regularly."

"Rahul is going to take a vacation from work."

Now, if it's more than a plan, if we have made the arrangements, then we use the present

continuous.

This is a tense you know already, and when we use it to talk about the future, it is

stronger than "going to".

For example: "I am having lunch with my parents on Saturday."

So, my parents and I have a plan to do that, but also, we have agreed on the time and place.

It's fixed.

Here's another sentence: "We are flying to Mumbai the day after tomorrow."

So, we've purchased the flight tickets, and our trip is confirmed.

"Josh is giving a presentation to the board of directors on the 10th."

"On the 10th" means "on the 10th of this month".

This is also a fixed arrangement.

Now, you might be asking, "So what's the difference really between going to and the

present continuous?"

Well, here is a situation to help you understand: "I'm going to see the dentist sometime

next week."

I'm laughing because of the picture.

OK, so do I have a plan to see the dentist?

Yes.

But, do I know on exactly what day?

No.

I haven't booked an appointment yet.

But if I say: "I'm seeing the dentist tomorrow afternoon."

That is confirmed; I have an appointment.

One more example: "We're going to get married this year."

Is the date fixed?

No.

It's a plan.

"We're getting married on April 21st."

Is the date fixed?

Yes.

This is an arrangement.

So, that's the difference between "going to" and the present continuous.

But, what about "will"?

Let's talk about that now.

"Will" is used to express three things: instant decisions, that is, decisions that

we make suddenly at the time of speaking; offers; and promises.

We make this form with a subject + will + a verb in its base form.

At a restaurant, a waiter asks you: "May I take your order?"

And you say: "Yes, I will have the burger and fries combo, please."

This is an instant decision.

You didn't plan two weeks ago to eat this food at this restaurant on this day.

You just made the decision now.

Here's another example.

Someone says: "The phone's ringing."

And you say: "I will get it."

You just decided to answer the phone.

The next two examples show "will" used to make offers: "These files are really

heavy."

"I will help you with them."

So, I'm offering to help this person carry the files.

That person can say: "OK, thank you" or "No, thanks.

I can do it myself."

Similarly, "It's hard to get a cab at this hour.

I will give you a ride home."

You might say that to a colleague of yours when leaving work late.

Your colleague might accept or politely decline your offer.

And here is "will" used to make promises: "Can you lend me $200?

I'll pay you back next week."

"Thank you for your email.

We will respond within two business days."

Alright, so far, we've talked about expressing plans and intentions with "going to",

fixed arrangements with the present continuous, and the three uses of "will": instant

decisions, offers and promises.

But, there's one more future function that you need to know about, and that is making

predictions.

To make predictions or guesses about the future, we can use both "will" and "going to".

These two forms are interchangeable for making predictions in many situations (meaning you

can choose whichever one you want).

But, there is a slight difference: we normally use "will" to make predictions based on

our knowledge or our own personal experience: "I think Spain will win the 2018 World Cup."

They've been playing well recently, so based on that knowledge, I think they'll win the

Cup.

"You should watch Interstellar.

I'm sure you will love it.

" I know that you like science fiction films, so I'm confident you will like this one.

We use "going to" when we make predictions based on something in the present (something

we can see now), so we're sure: "Look at the sky.

It's going to rain soon."

We can see a lot of black clouds, so it's definitely going to rain in a few minutes.

"Mom's going to be really happy when she sees my grades."

So, this kid has done well on his exams; he has his report card in hand, and he knows

for sure that his mother is going to be happy when she sees it.

Alright, so remember this difference in making predictions with "will" and "going to".

OK, we've covered a lot of information about the future simple tense, so let's do a quick

recap of it.

We use "going to" to talk about plans and intentions: "We are going to buy a car."

We use the present continuous to talk about fixed arrangements: "I'm having lunch

with my parents on Saturday."

We use "will" for three main purposes: to express instant decisions: "I'll have

the burger and fries combo, please."

To make offers: "I'll help you with those files."

And to make promises: "Can you lend me $200?

I'll pay you back next week."

We use both "will" and "going to" to make predictions.

If a prediction is based on our opinion, knowledge or experience, we use "will": "I think

Spain will win the 2018 World Cup."

If a prediction is based on something we see right now, then we use "going to": "Look

at the sky.

It's going to rain soon."

Alright, let's now move on and talk about the next tense: the future continuous.

We make the future continuous tense with a subject + will be + a verb in continuous (or

-ing form).

For example: "At 11 a.m. tomorrow, I will be driving to Portland."

So, tomorrow, at nine in the morning, I'm going to start driving to Portland; it will

take me many hours to get there.

But at 11 o'clock, I will be doing this activity: driving.

The future continuous tense expresses an action that will be ongoing (that will be in progress)

at some time in the future.

Here's another example.

Some of your friends are planning to go and see a movie on Saturday.

One of them asks you: "(Hey) Do you want to come with us to the movies on Saturday?"

And you say: "I can't.

I will be working until late."

"Until late" means "until late at night."

So, you have an afternoon shift on Saturday, and that evening, you will still be in your

office, doing your work, so you can't go to the movies.

This is the main use of the future continuous tense, but sometimes, we use this tense to

talk about a fixed or a routine event in the future.

You know I'm traveling to Portland tomorrow: "I will be staying at the Hilton hotel in

Portland."

This is a fixed arrangement.

It has the same meaning as saying: I'm staying or "I'm going to stay at the Hilton hotel

in Portland."

All of these forms are correct in this case.

One more example at the workplace: One colleague says to another: "I'm going to the cafeteria.

Do you want me to bring you a coffee?"

The reply: "Thanks, but don't bother.

I will be going there in a little while myself."

It's a routine thing I do at this time every day.

It's also correct if you say, "I'm going there in a little while myself".

So, that's the future continuous.

We now turn to the next two tenses; we're going to look at these together: the future

perfect and the future perfect continuous.

To understand the future perfect, let's take a situation: this is Aaron.

He wants to save up some money, so he is going to save $100 a month from now on.

This is February now, so "By August (which is six months from now), Aaron will have saved

$600."

This sentence shows that the action (of saving 600 bucks) will be complete by that time.

This is the future perfect tense.

It takes a point in the future (like August), and it looks back; it talks about the completion

of an action by that time.

#NAME?

Now, in this sentence, the focus is on the money.

If, instead, we want to focus on the amount of time, then we can say: "By August, Aaron

will have been saving money for six months."

That is, he will have finished six months of saving and he will continue saving money.

This is the future perfect continuous tense.

We use it talk about an ongoing action (an action that will be in progress) in the future

and to also mention the duration or length of that action at a particular time.

We make this tense with a subject + will have been + a verb in continuous or -ing form.

Here's one more example: My wife and I are going to paint our living room tomorrow.

That's the plan.

We're going to start at 7 a.m.

We expect that it'll take us about 10 hours.

So, "By 5 p.m., we will have painted the living room."

I can also say: "By 5 p.m., we will have finished."

I can make a future perfect continuous sentence like this: "By 5 p.m., we will have been

painting the living room for ten hours."

The future perfect simple and the future perfect continuous tenses are not that common.

They're found very little in speech and a little more in writing.

Understanding these two tenses can be helpful, but don't worry too much if you're not

sure how to use them correctly.

They're not extremely important, and you will get better at using them with time and

practice.

Alright, that brings us to the end of this lesson.

I hope you enjoyed it and learned from it.

As always, happy learning, and I will see you in another lesson soon.

3 Simple Tricks to get into good batting form | Cricket Batting Tips | Nothing But Cricket - Duration: 4:31.

Hello viewers , Welcome to nothing but cricket !!

In this video am gonna say about how a batsman can get into form after being out of form for a while

Even in the International levels players are chucked out of team when they loose their form

and they are not able to find their place again.. so am going to about the remedies of these problems

It is dominantly related with the mental strength.. so the recovery rate is completely

depending on the mental strength of the individual

so before going into the video please do subscribe and also press that bell symbol

so that you can watch all my videos without missing.. lets go into the video

3 simple tricks

if you follow those tricks, you can easily recover from bad form

first one is gonna be... 1. Staying in the wickets

you should be very stubborn to loose your wicket in the match

when we are out of form we wont have confidence to score runs

we wont go for shots.. we will avoid getting in strike

so to overcome this we should master our defending method

you have to keep in mind that you are not going to loose your wicket at all

we should balance the team score and our score

we have to play for the team as well as for our form sake

we should not loose our wicket and also we should not put our team in trouble by spoiling runrate

we should have balance between team performance and individual performance

but the main motive is to stay in wickets.. we have to build our confidence through this grit.

When you meet more number of balls , you will slowly regain your confidence.. this is the first trick

Moving on to next one.. Always think of some successful performance of you in the past

before sleep and after getting up

just sit and think .. that I have done well in matches before.. I have performed well before

Everyone greeted me when I done well before... Like this you have to trigger your past pleasant memories

When we are confident and think about this It'll lead to over confidence.. but when you are depressed this will help you ..

If you maintain a dairy or vlog it will be useful.. or else you just have to

call upon your pleasant past before getting into match

by this way we should build the self confidence within ourselves

So this is the second trick

think about good moments and regain the confidence

Now the last and final important trick is

this trick has helped me in the past for many times

focus on other departments rigorously.. give your full effort on fielding.. as a bowler am speaking

I used to focus lot in my fielding and batting when I am low in confidence about bowling

And contribute something to the team via other departments

This might give some self confidence in your department.. even if you fail in batting

put maximum effort in fielding and stand apart from the others

definitely the confidence you get through fielding well will help you in batting

All you need is a positive vibe.. that is the ultimate motive.. so

if you follow this you can transform the confidence from other departments into runs

these are the three important and simple tricks

to get yourself into good form

so easily you can start performing well after getting into form if you follow this

But never the less your mental strength is really important because you can't do anything without that

so trust in yourselves and recover quickly.. All the best

thanks for watching my video.. please do subscribe and also press that bell symbol

so that you can watch all my videos immediately after getting posted.. thanks for watching !!

Lesson 62 Learn English - A great adventure - Present simple vs Present continuous - Duration: 2:55.

Session 62 a great adventure

Billy is thinking of going travelling. He wants to see as much of Europe as he can over four months.

Travelling from the UK, his first port of call is France.

From there, he will make his way through to the South of Spain, up through Portugal,

back through the North of Spain, on to Italy, then Greece,

and then head up to Germany before returning home.

He is travelling on a budget so he will be camping through most of the journey

and he has a fold up bicycle to help save money on travel.

He has never been travelling on his own before and

he wants to make sure he is fully prepared for any eventuality.

He starts writing a list of all the things he thinks he may need for his new adventure.

The list includes a tent, a sleeping bag, a torch and a tin opener, amongst other things.

After completing the list, he realizes that he needs to buy some new equipment.

It is important to have a fully stocked first aid kit.

Though Billy doesn't plan on getting into any scrapes, it is always best to be prepared.

"Better to have and not need, than need and not have", so the saying goes.

He'll need to buy plasters, alcohol wipes and iodine, as well as, a pair of scissors.

The next thing he'll need is phrasebooks for the countries he is planning to visit.

He writes a list of the countries. He includes Romania and The Ukraine,

though he may not have the chance to visit them after his long journey to Greece.

A puncture repair kit for his fold up bicycle is essential.

He doesn't want to get stuck in the middle of nowhere with a flat tyre.

He writes down a sewing kit also, his budget won't allow him to spend money on new socks all the time.

The last thing on his shopping list is waterproof clothing.

Although it is the summer, he knows that France and Germany can get quite wet.

This reminds him that he may need to buy some silicone based sealant for his tent.

He certainly doesn't want to wake up drenched one night.

He checks his inventory and finds that he has a full tube so there is no need to buy more.

He gets back to his list and double checks that he has thought of everything.

Once he is convinced that he hasn't forgotten anything he prepares to go shopping.

This is going to be a great adventure!

Lesson 63 Learn English - 12 tiny men - Past Simple / Past Continuous - Duration: 3:23.

Session 63 twelve tiny men

Patrick Norton is one of the biggest stars in Hollywood today.

From his debut in "To kick a humming bird" at the tender age of 12,

Patrick has climbed the ladder of success and is now soaring the dizzying heights of fame.

With the release of his new blockbuster "12 Tiny Men" Patrick has joined us today to talk about his past,

his present and what the future may hold for America's best loved actor.

Patrick, hi! How are you?

Hi, I'm great. Thanks for having me.

Let's talk about how you got into acting. Where did it all start?

Well, my parents were a cross between beatniks and hippies.

They travelled across America in a camper van.

They were looking for, what they perceived to be, the American dream.

My father worked as a writer for an obscure music magazine

so we spent a lot of time following touring bands.

Of course, we didn't have a television so music played a big part in my life.

That's interesting. Being that you played the part of the son in "To kick a humming bird"

depicting the tragic life of country and western singer, Patsy Cass.

Yes, having some insight into that world certainly helped my performance.

I'd never really thought about acting until I watched "Sunrise Street"

with the country rock band "Holden". It was a ritual they had. They watched it before every gig.

I was mesmerized by Joe Shaefers performance, how he was struggling with his own creativity.

I remembered every line of his from that film and began reciting it, much to the delight of the band members.

It had been a year since the untimely death of Patsy Cass and

Holden had been asked to star in a film about her life.

Impressed by my performance, they agreed only if I had a part in the film.

The casting agent auditioned me for the part of Sonny Green, friend to Max Cass, Patsy's son.

However, they were so impressed with my reading that they gave me the part of Max.

And you've been an actor ever since.

Well, your new release "12 Tiny Men" has done great in its first week and looks to break many records.

What are you working on now?

Well, I'm kind of going back to my roots, I guess.

It's a road movie about a writer who is trying to get over writers block.

My father is going to be my consultant,

which is great as I've been so busy it's been difficult finding time to spend with my family.

Patrick Norton, it has been a pleasure chatting with you.

Good luck with "12 Tiny Men", it's a great movie. I'm sure we all look forward to seeing your next opus.

What is SEO? (A simple explanation) - Duration: 8:53.

- Hey guys, in this video I am going to explain to you

what SEO is.

You've probably heard the term.

Your brother's cousin's roommate's uncle's best-friend's dog

said "you have to do SEO.

"You must do SEO."

You have no idea what it is,

but you're gonna go throw money

at somebody to take care of it for you.

Or hire some guy who

is an SEO expert to take care of it for you

for $25 dollars

a month.

Think again.

That's not how it works.

This is a non-technical video.

I do not get into technical blah, blah, blah, blah, blah,

because honestly that doesn't matter.

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization.

We're gonna break this up into two parts.

The first part is Search Engine.

What is a search engine?

As the internet grew and people realized

the value of being able to share all this information,

being able to look up things

and get all of this information available to you

literally at your fingertips.

Like, right there, from your fingertips.

The internet grew and it grew and it grew and it grew

and it's now more than a billion websites

that exist on the internet today,

which wow, that's so impressive.

That's amazing.

And the fact that with my phone

that's around here somewhere,

here.

With my phone I can look up

and search anything

on a website from my phone

anywhere in the world.

That is just incredible.

But here's where search engines come in.

We're trying to understand search engines

and why they're important,

and why there's so much that goes into that

little

tiny

box

called

Google.

To put this in perspective,

you have to realize that in 2012

Google was searching more than 30 trillion pages

on the internet.

So yes there's a billion websites,

but there was 30 trillion pages.

And you can go "Wow, that is a lot."

but here's the follow-up fact

that will really blow your mind.

As of 2016

we're not even in 2018 yet,

but 2016

Google was searching more than 130 trillion pages.

You know that saying that's like a needle in a haystack?

It's like finding a needle in a haystack.

Whatever the saying is.

Finding a needle in a haystack.

I think I would rather paint a different picture for you

to give you really the magnitude

of what we're talking about here.

You've heard of the Milky Way.

There are over 100 billion planets in the Milky Way.

Imagine Elon Musk gets his way

and we're all floating around in Tesla Jets.

Imagine you get a hankering for a potato.

You want a potato.

Now you just have to find the potato,

but it can be anywhere in the Milky Way.

There's 100 billion planets in the Milky Way.

Now you're just trying to find a potato.

Using a search engine to find what you're looking for

is like finding a potato inside the 7Eleven

on some planet in the Milky Way.

You have no idea where it is.

It's that crazy.

Now let's take the definition of optimization.

Optimization means

the action of making the best or most effective use

of a situation or resource.

People are pushing in search engine optimization

to move their website up.

You could be many many many many pages

back in the search results

and never get found.

Well I just want to explain to you very simply,

how search engines find what you're looking for.

There is actually one word.

Just one word that sums up the whole subject.

Relevancy.

All search engines care about

is who is the most relevant.

Imagine you're trying to find a hot dog.

So you type in hot dog into Google.

The guy at the top is the one that Google

feels is the most relevant search result.

The guys underneath obviously

are less relevant in their eyes.

How do you get more relevant?

And I'm not gonna get into a super detailed video

because I'm gonna create a whole series

about each part of this thing so you really understand it.

This is what we focus on when we do SEO for somebody.

You're going for

how many pages a website has.

The more pages you have,

that's generally an indicator that

a person's putting way more work into the site.

A guy who has a one page website

and a guy who has a 5,000 page website.

Those are two different things.

Google knows the guy who has one page website

isn't necessarily putting as much work into his website.

The frequency that you're updating the website.

So one way that people do that is with blogs.

There's many ways.

News articles, things like that.

But when you're actually creating

good content and you're creating relevant things

that will actually help people,

that's what you're going for.

You want to focus on that.

There are things related to the text

you actually use on the site

because they want to see if you're searching for hot dogs,

they want to see that you're relevant for hot dogs.

They're gonna see text about hot dogs on the page.

They wanna see that people are engaged

and active on your site,

that they're actually spending time on your site,

not just coming to your site and bouncing off.

So how people interact,

creating relevant information

and then directing people into the site,

that's super important.

That's one of the things they're looking for.

Another factor that became very important

in Google trying to find the most relevant search result

was actually your location.

So if you are a location-based business,

meaning it's relevant where you are,

like a lawyer or

a healthcare clinic,

or whatever,

Google is going to narrow down the search results

based on your area.

When you're a person who's looking for a doctor

in Los Angeles, California,

it's highly unlikely in their eyes,

that you're looking for somebody in Tampa, Florida.

Even if you just say doctor.

You don't need to type in doctor Los Angeles or anything.

They know where you are,

yes, they do know where you are.

Big Brother, thank you very much.

But they also know where the businesses are

that could service you.

So in the whole game of relevancy,

they're going to narrow it down by location

to give you the most relevant search result.

Links from other sites to your site because

those links act as a vote of confidence

from another site.

There are so many other things that can be done.

I am not trying to create an in depth guide

to teach you everything about SEO in this one video.

To summarize this,

what is SEO?

SEO is Search Engine Optimization.

What is a search engine?

It's a piece of software that actually helps you find

the most relevant thing that

you're looking for on the internet,

because with a gazillion bazillion trillion pages,

you're gonna need some help with that.

That's what search engines do.

Optimization.

That means making the best use of the resource that you have

which is your website.

So when we are doing that,

we are actually trying to improve your website,

improve your marketing,

improve the value that you provide to other people

so that you move up in search results

and you get to a higher position

when people are then searching for things,

they are going to find your website.

(cheering)

Is it valuable even today in 2018?

Yes, but it can't be a sole component of your strategy.

There are many other things to do like paid advertising

and other things that you can do

that will help improve your overall effectiveness

of generating leads and sales for your business online.

But this is a video about SEO to explain to you what it is.

Hopefully this demystifies any weird concepts,

any crazy things that you've been told,

by your brother's sister's roommate's best-friend's uncle's

grandma's dog's pet hamster/gerbil

who basically told you confusing stuff that made no sense.

I apologize on behalf of everybody else

that has to be so confusing.

It's not.

It really is this.

If someone cannot explain to you simply how SEO works,

then please please please move on.

That's what I had for you today.

Don't forget to Like, Comment, Subscribe.

It helps me out,

understand what you're looking for in videos

and how I can provide more value for you.

I'm gonna continue this series of videos

about online marketing,

about digital marketing,

things that don't matter

I'll say this doesn't matter,

things that do matter I'll tell you this matters.

I wanna give you direction

from a business owner perspective.

I'm not trying to teach you

to be a technical nerd in this video.

This the idea is,

that you understand the basics of how it works,

because honestly most of the technical people out there

don't also understand how this works.

So hope that helps.

See you tomorrow.

A Simple Guide To Astrology - Duration: 20:29.

A Simple Guide To Astrology

We Are All Astrologers We are all astrologers.

Many of us just dont understand the language yet.

Astrology is as simple to learn as any spoken language, once we learn some new vocabulary.

In the language of astrology there are only thirty four-words, and there are ten planets,

twelve signs, and twelve houses.

Once we understand their significance and the rules by which they operate, we are able

to start to become proficient in conversing in this new language, interpreting and conveying

meaning with increasing skill through practice and regular use, the same way we turn high

school Spanish instruction into fundamental real-world fluency; no one will mistake us

for a native right away, but we can get by, and with practice and experience, greater

subtlety and precision are attained.

The Key to Understanding Astrology There is no such thing as good or bad in an

astrology chart.

The key to the system of astrology is that every astrological symbol represents a spectrum

of possibilities, and each birth (natal) chart describes the root of thousands of personalities.

An individual can react to a natal chart either unconsciously, or respond as a self-aware,

creative being.

Astrology Can Support Us in Several Ways Astrology paints us a picture of how our lives

could look when lived both at our highest potential and also in the shadow of lack of

consciousness.

It can reveal the innate tools that are available to us and show us how best to implement them.

No such astrology chart, planetary transit, or astrology sign preordains a particular

fate or outcome; rather, an astrology forecast is much like weather forecast, and how we

choose to respond to the weather is entirely up to us.

Some people love to dance in the rain, while others prefer not to get wet!

Regardless, our destiny is always within our hands.

How Astrological Signs, Planets and Houses Work Together

Each astrological sign symbolizes the psychological processes that take place within our rational

mind.

The planets add a second influence by representing a particular psychological or cognitive function

we possess, including intellect, emotions, ego, and our gravitation towards intimacy.

In order for us to understand how the influence of a particular planet plays out, it must

be interpreted in the context of both a sign and a house.

Astrological houses add a third dimension, representing the tasks, issues, and lifes

challenges we may face; for example, one house symbolizes the establishment of our personal

identity relationships, while another represents our status in our community.

The houses complete the system by asking the final question: where in our lives does each

astrological sign and planet have the most impact?

Chart Interpretation A birthchart is an arrangement of astrologys

primary elements: signs, houses, and planets, that is as unique to an individual as a thumbprint,

and that represents the individual.

It is a map that shows the way the sun, moon, and planets were arranged in the sky at the

moment a person was born.

A computer can construct a birthchart, but it could never effectively interpret one.

To accomplish that, we must react to the chart the way we react to a living person.

By employing all of our senses.

We must react to the wholeness of their being intellectually, physically, emotionally and

intuitively.

There are only about three dozen words in astrologys vocabulary, but when we include

the laws of grammar and syntax, they combine in nearly endless ways.

There are about three dozen words in astrologys vocabulary, but when we add the laws of grammar

and syntax they combine in infinite ways.

The hieroglyphics spread randomly through a birthchart chart represent the sun, moon,

and planets.

These symbols are called glyphs.

They are a form shorthand.

The Planetary Glyphs: Sun: Jupiter: Moon: Saturn: Mercury: Uranus: Venus: Neptune: Mars:

Pluto:

Those numbers and glyphs around the edge of the birthchart tell us exactly where each

sign lies.

The horizontal line that runs across the middle of our sample birth chart above, represents

the local horizon at the moment we drew our first breath at birth.

Everything above this line represents what was visible in half of the sky when the individual

was born.

Everything below this line symbolizes what beneath the earth.

The left end of that line represents the east, and the opposite west (just the opposite of

how our maps are normally oriented).

The twelve pie slices are the houses, and the numbers in the inner correspond to each

house.

Everything else in the sample birthchart has to do with signs.

The numbers and symbols around the outer rim of the chart show where the signs were at

the moment the individual drew their first breath.

The numbers around the outer rim of the birthchart show us where the signs were in relation to

the houses at the moment of the individuals birth.

The Twelve Signs Of Astrology

Element: Fire Mode: Cardinal

Archetypes: The Warrior, The Pioneer, The Daredevil, The Survivor

Glyph: ? The Ram embodies courage, and represents the

ability of the will to triumph over any challenge or obstacle; nothing stands between the Ram

and his/her chosen path.

Provided Aries avoids accepting challenges in vain, and chooses his/her battles wisely,

they will avoid an endless parade of drama and hassles brought about out of impulsivity,

frustration or boredom.

Aries highest resources are honesty, independence and an innate leadership ability.

The Rams highest endpoint in his/her evolution, is the perfect harmonizing of their desires,

actions, and freedom.

TAURUS THE BULL Element: Earth

Mode: Fixed Archetypes: The Earth Sprite, The Musician,

The Silent One Glyph: ?

The aim of a Tauren is to find serenity and to to sustain it.

This sign prefers the ease of the outdoors, peaceful environments, intuitively rebels

against incessant speech, and seeks peace bred by inner security.

However, The Bull would be wise to avoid the lure of security for securitys sake, and

remember to ask his/herself from time to time , Am I here to grow or to be safe? Patience,

an aversion to drama, suspicion of complexity, a reliable network of relationships, and the

instinct to seek out stable circumstances are often a Taureans strongest assets.

GEMINI THE TWINS Element: Air

Mode: Mutable Archetypes: The Witness, The Teacher, The

Storyteller, The Journalist Glyph: ?

Gemini was born to perceive the how world communicates with us, immersed in observations,

more journalist than philosopher.

They are also natural born debaters, and rarely lose an argument.

The Twins have a natural curiosity that drives them endlessly; few signs of the zodiac live

so tirelessly, and function on so little sleep.

The continual hum of the Gemini psyche, when left to its own devices, can lead to tension

and moodiness.

Most Twins find a quiet heart-to-heart conversation with a good friend, free of intellectual or

verbal jousting, soothing to an overstimulated mind.

Likewise, physical exercise can be another beneficial counterbalance for the Twins.

Ultimately, the aim of Gemini is to experience as much of life as their hearts can hold.

CANCER THE CRAB Element: Water

Mode: Cardinal Archetypes: The Mother, The Healer, The Invisible

Man (Woman) Glyph: ?

The Crab is a vulnerable creature; feelings and emotions are the fabric of Cancers

world.

Born to penetrate the inner dimensions of life, they are intrigued by the reactive and

subjective aspects of the rational mind.

Every Crab, male or female, embodies the mother archetype in some form, and Cancer will draw

out the sensitive side in most everyone he/she meets.

No other sign of the zodiac feels with such intensity, and the Crab must develop a strong

shell in order to avoid feelings of resentment, susceptibility, and depression.

A slow and steady pace is essential for Cancer, maintaining personal boundaries.

Cancers goal is to bring about healing through acceptance of the chaos and discord

of life, loving and trusting and against the odds, embracing life.

LEO THE LION Element: Fire

Mode: Fixed Archetypes: The King (or Queen), The Performer,

The Child The Clown Glyph: ?

Positivity and true expression of personality are the aim of the Lion; all thoughts and

feelings are laid bare, and Leo will tolerate nothing that attempts to inhibit that self-expression.

Ironically, the infamous Leonine pride can cast a dark shadow over these inner truths,

one of the few things that can conceal the Lions wounds, doubts, and sorrows or prevent

Leo from asking for the love and support from others he/she truly desires.

While the Lion has the natural charisma and charm of the King archetype, Leo also embodies

the Child with characteristic spontaneity, a sense of wonder, and a playful nature.

Given an appropriate creative outlet, the Lion knows instinctively how to be present,

to live for the moment, and to shine brightly.

Leo comes to this life to leave an individual legacy, tangible evidence of his/her spirit

at work in the world.

VIRGO THE VIRGIN Element: Earth

Mode: Mutable Archetypes: The Servant, The Martyr, The Perfectionist,

The Analyst Glyph: ?

The Virgin embodies our capacity to be of service through humble self-assessment and

relentless idealism.

Perfection is a relative and abstract concept.

The Virgo shadow is cast when self-sacrifice in pursuit of perfection become martyrdom.

When Virgos unrelenting inner critic goes untempered by self-acceptance, self-destructive

patterns will emerge.

In order to avoid such pitfalls, Virgins must learn to love and accept themselves and others,

despite flaws.

Virgos highest form evolves and improves continually over a lifetime of transformation

through synthesis and service.

LIBRA THE SCALES Element: Air

Mode: Cardinal Archetypes: The Lover, The Artist, The Peacemaker

Glyph: ? Libra embodies harmony, balance, and relativity.

There is no light without shadow and no shadow without light.

The Scales symbolize a treaty between peace and chaos, and total detachment from outcome

Its just life.

A Libra also tolerates a paradox like no other sign.

In the rationale mind, a tolerance for paradox is wisdom, but on the world stage, taken too

far, it can manifest in indecision and stagnation.

Libra can stand at the crossroads, paralyzed by the realization that neither direction

is correct.

This are The Scales shadow.

Without commitment and action, life can become be long and tiresome.

At a certain point, The Scales must be willing to roll the dice, and to fully commit to the

outcome, otherwise life will go on, and pass them by.

The ultimate goal for Libra is for an attainment of unwavering inner-harmony despite external

circumstances.

SCORPIO THE SCORPION Element: Water

Mode: Fixed Archetypes: The Detective, The Sorcerer, The

Hypnotist Glyph: ?

The aim of the Scorpion to make the unseen seen, and the unconscious conscious; The sign

of death.

A Scorpion is often considered one of the sexiest signs of the zodiac due to their deep

penetrating emotional energy.

Scorpios are mercilessly introspective, and instinctively suspicious; They plunge into

the minds of those around them, for deeper knowledge and understanding of their inner

motivations, and they are often quite successful in finding them.

A Scorpios fascination with underlying truths and death, helps them to gain greater

courage and self knowledge.

Too much knowledge too soon however, can cause a Scorpio to fall into doomsday thinking,

darkness and despair.

The Scorpion must learn to balance their intensity through grounding activities and cultivating

gratitude for the present moment.

Scorpios are here to live every minute as if it were the last.

That is the Scorpions endpoint.

To live with unwavering intensity.

SAGITTARIUS THE ARCHER Element: Fire

Mode: Mutable Archetypes: The Gypsy, The Student, The Philosopher

Glyph: ? The lifeblood of Sagittarius is growth and

understanding.

This sign is symbolized by the Gypsy, the Student, and the Philosopher, each a respective

manifestation of the Archers essence in body, mind, and spirit.

Sagittarius loves to move into new and intriguing landscapes, intuitively absorbing new information

and fresh perspectives and expanding consciousness.

Impulsiveness, excessive optimism, and poor judgment are Sagittarius potential pitfalls;

for example, they are the most likely of the twelve signs of the zodiac to marry in in

haste.

However, a little patience and preparation can be the Archers salvation, saving a

brilliant Sagittarian spark from being snuffed out tragically by lifes travails.

Freedom, to live fully, to become aware of the principles of the universe, and to understand

the meaning of life is the ultimate aim of the Archer.

CAPRICORN THE SEA-GOAT Element: Earth

Mode: Cardinal Archetypes: The Hermit, The Father, The Prime

Minister Glyph: ?

Capricorn symbolizes the marriage ones nature, and identity and integrity.

Worldly power to The Sea-Goat does not signify prestige, it signifies freedom.

Capricorn must select a world stage role that expresses their own personal values, interests,

and whims, and that allows them to be content with their thoughts and endeavors, whatever

they maybe.

It is a corruption of his/her innate need for solitude and external power that may cause

an imbalanced Capricorn to stray off course into a patronizing attitude, tyranny and dictatorship.

No sign can appear so icily unemotional amidst personal crisis.

An ideal strategy for Capricorn, is to learn to be content without the approval of others,

and to find their own practical support for their need to be self sufficient.

Just as the world opens up before The Sea-Goat must learn to do what comes naturally; To

remain grounded, industrious and to fall back on their inner-solitude.

The end point for Capricorn is the marriage of ones inner-world and ones public

identity.

AQUARIUS THE WATER-BEARER Element: Air

Mode: Fixed Archetypes: The Genius The Revolutionary The

Truth Sayer The Scientist The Exile Glyph: ?

Most Aquarians are born with the feeling of being an outsider.

Tribalism and conformity are anathema to the Water-Bearer; to overcome them, Aquarius must

cultivate an absolute commitment to personal truth.

Conventionality is a social mask Aquarius may choose to wear, donned a terrible price.

The path becomes a dark for the Water-Bearer when it is not her/his own; they can quickly

feel ostracized and alienated.

Aquarius is one of the most ingenuous signs of the zodiac.

They are natural able to employ fresh perspectives and novel approaches to problems when others

are at an impasse.

The ultimate goal of Aquarius is to teach us independence, individuality and how to

choose our own path.

The evolved Aquarian learns to stand firm and to speak the truth with resolve even

with a voice that shakes.

PISCES THE FISHES Element: Water

Mode: Mutable Archetypes: The Mystic, The Dreamer, The Poet,

The Face Dancer Glyph: ?

The Fishes represent how our inner worlds and outer worlds intertwine, and they posses

an intuitive awareness of our higher levels of consciousness.

This is the last sign of the zodiac because it contains all of the signs possible viewpoints

simultaneously.

The Piscess shadow?

It is escapism.

The Fishes when overwhelmed by all its imagination and creativity will attempt to hide from the

horrors of the world, turning away from every potential hurt or obstacle, subverting their

belief in the objective universe.

The Fishes must learn to go of the illusion.

How?

Through meditation.

Empathy, understanding and compassion come naturally to Pisces, and whatever form of

exploration the path of a Pisces takes, it will represent another key Pisces resource:

Self-transcendence.

The endpoint for Pisces is the realization that no matter what we do, wherever we go,

or whatever we see, we can only meet one inescapable reality: our own consciousness.

The Planets Of Astrology The differences in perspectives between astronomers

and astrologers, make it appear as though there are two distinct systems of planets

in our solar system.

Astrology is astronomy inside out.

The astronomers viewpoint is from billions of miles above the sun.

The astrologer observes the planets in our solar system as they appear from planet earth;

as the planets appear to stop and go, change course, and reverse themselves .

When a planet appears to be going backward, in astrology, we refer to the planet as retrograde.

To imagine a planet in retrograde, imagine we are driving along in our car.

Up ahead, along the road side we see a jogger.

As we are approaching the jogger, the jogger is moving forward.

At the moment we overtake them, we observe the jogger as moving backward against the

scenery.

From the perspective of an astrologer, earth is our automobile.

The sun and moon never go retrograde, because our sun is the center of our system, and our

Moon is the only planet in astrology that orbits the earth.

In general terms, a retrograde cycle in astrology represents a cycle of time, where we have

a supportive opportunity in time for us to review any lessons in a from a preceding planetary

cycle, before entering their new cycle.

.

Each planet has a unique personality, and represents a compartment of our human consciousness

it brings into each of the houses as guides.

Not one chart is ever completely absent of any planets; every birthchart contains all

ten.

They vary only in terms of which houses in which the planets are most emphasized, and

how we choose to express them in our lives.

Lets meet the ten planets: THE SUN ?

Function: The Sun embodies our truest self; who we are beneath the ego.

This star guides us to the answers to the questions: Who am I?

What is my Souls (Sols) purpose?

THE MOON ?? Function: The Moon is about emotional development,

and how we respond to life emotionally; our-overall emotional constitution.

This planet helps us to understand how and where our feelings, moods, and emotions are

expressed.

MERCURY Function: Mercury is the planet of education,

intelligence and communication.

It shows us what our intellectual and communicative strengths and weaknesses are.

VENUS Function: Venus is often referred to as the

planet if love, and appropriately so.

This function of this planet is the development of relationships in all forms.

This planet helps us to identify what we need in a partnership, and what we can bring into

our relationships, including the relationship with ourselves.

MARS Function: The red planet is the development

of will and the expansion of courage.

Mars shows us where we can be more assertive, take more risks, and where we need stronger

boundaries.

JUPITER Function: Jupiters function is the creation

of faith, vitality, confidence and boosting our spirits.

This gas giant shows us where we need to cultivate more optimism and inner faith.

SATURN Function: Saturn is about the cultivation

of self-discipline, self-respect, sovereignty, and our faith in our lifes destiny.

This planet shows us where we need to learn how to chop wood and carry water, and stand

on our own two feet; where our faith will be tested most.

URANUS Function: The planet about the development

of our individuality, and our capacity to question authority and the transcendence of

cultural and social programming.

Uranus points to the departments of life where we must be most willing to bend or break the

rules, and to function with out familial and social approval.

It shows us where our pursuit for truth will be most challenged by the status quo.

NEPTUNE Function: The function of this dreamy planet

is the harmonization of our higher consciousness (soul) with our rationale mind.

Neptune shows us where we need to rely more on our intuition than our logic, and where

we are vulnerable to having a distorted view of reality, when we are not grounded enough

in our physical reality.

PLUTO Function: Pluto is about the realization of

our lifes purpose, the development of our capacity to discern the truth, and the recognition

of shallow pursuits.

This planet illuminates where we may find the most wisdom for which there is the greatest

need.

It also identifies where we will most benefit by guarding our selves against dogmatic or

tyrannical behaviors.

The Houses Of Astrology

There are twelve houses and twelve signs in the zodiac, and both of these systems parallel.

For example, Aries is the first sign in the first house, therefore the dramas of Aries

are also the dramas of the first house.

The same goes for Taurus in the second house.

Gemini in the third, and so on, right through to the end in Pisces and in the twelfth house.

Learn one system and you are well on your way to grasping the other.

The only significant difference between signs and houses is one of focus.

Signs are psychological processes.

They refer to events that happen in our minds head.

Houses are purely experiential.

THE FIRST HOUSE (THE ASCENDANT) Traditional Name: House of Personality

THE TWELFTH HOUSE Traditional Name: House of Troubles Corresponding

Sign: Pisces Associated Planets: Neptune & Jupiter

Purpose: Pure consciousness; Ego transcendence.

Events and experiences that free us from our identification with personality.

Planets in Signs The key to understanding the interactions

of planets and signs lies in remembering the differences between them.

Each serves a distinct purpose.

Lose sight of that and your interpretations will be as fuzzy as a ball of yarn in a box

of kittens.

A planet asks the question what?

A sign takes that what and develops it with a how and a why.

STEP ONE Look at the planet to ask which mental function

are we considering?

What part of the mind are we talking about?

Self-Identity formation with the sun?

Discipline development with Saturn?

STEP TWO Look to the sign that motivates the planet.

What is that planetary function?

The sign provides us with the answer to why; the purpose.

STEP THREE Ask, How can that planet-sign combination

achieve its goal?

What relevant resources does the sign contribute, and what are its strengths and weaknesses?

STEP FOUR Consider how can that planet-sign combination

be distorted.

What kinds of shadowy behaviors are consistent with the meaning, but incongruent with its

higher evolutionary purpose?

STEP FIVE Look at the house.

Where are the planet-sign lessons being developed?

What kind of behavior are they manifesting?

Which responses to the planet and sign could be most supportive in ones circumstances?

If you trust these five steps to guide you on your path as an evolving astrologer, your

interpretations will be unique, accurate, and specific.
