News on Youtube Feb 24 2018

okay guys here is my indoor catfish aquaponics system okay so I'm gonna do a

little update here on my channel catfish that I've got in the fish tank here

these guys are supposed to go outside into the aquaponic system that's in the

greenhouse however he's the following you know that the greenhouse is not done

yet and I still got a ways to go so anyway I've got a little indoor

aquaponics system type deal going on here

this is just nothing but a lid that's the lid to this styrofoam cooler three

bucks at one more for the whole thing and basically I just poke some holes in

it and I have some onion chives that is perfectly rare but they kind of ran

their course these um I think they're called Punk though basically it's just

some fell plant that we got and put some feeders off of that one put them in here

no compound enough and just anyway it's looking pretty happy in this monitor

okay so it took straight-up twelve weeks almost to the day before the tanks

cycled itself I lost quite a few fish but I've learned a lot about just a

cycling process itself plus I've had time to watch these fish and just watch

their behavior so even though I got the fish before I was ready to put these

fish in the system that I have not built yet in my greenhouse outside that still

isn't finished I've learned a lot just by watching these guys these fish cycled

this water so there was a lot of time that they went without regular feeding

so I don't know that I might have stunted their growth that that is a

possibility the fish went for a long time without feeding so now that

everything's cleared up all my levels are reading zero as far as ammonia

nitrites and nitrates so now I'm at a good point where I'm going to start

keeping track of what I'm feeding them day by day Kim calibrated at zero let's

see how much these fish fillet

okay that weighs seven grams I think seven grams is probably pretty close to

what these other guys are doing way to fish one is at seven grams the other one

looks like it's at three grams a three gram fish is definitely by far the

smallest fish in the tank once I do the numbers that comes out to two point five

two grams of food per day that I should be feeding this these fish the most that

I have fed them in the last week is kind of I've been weighing out of gram and

then kind of just give me a little about half a gram a day just to slowly

introduce food back into the system I'm gonna work my way up to two and a half

gram so about two weeks ago I started using it just build up on the sides of

the tank I've gone in there and wiped it off like two times and it just started

coming back so about three days ago we got some albino flick awesomeness

there's one right there behind the filter kind of hard to see it they

cleaned up this part of the wall real good just a few hours the Sun that we

get you know just a little bit of I mean this just it's enough Sun to where it's

causing a problem but I think that we got the plecos in there yeah they keep

it under control this is nothing to take too seriously but I'm just gonna play

around with it and see what I can do so anyway guys at this point I'm gonna

start feeding these fish and working my way up to two and a half grams I'm gonna

try and get some probably get some herbs or something that can grow in here some

basil or something I don't know but I'll make a couple of days I'm gonna try and

get something else going in here and I'll keep you posted

DIY Corsage | Simple How To Tutorial For Spring Dances - Duration: 8:03.

Hey Guys, This Corsage turned out so well.

I made it for my daughter for her little dance tonight and I had to share it with you.

So all your'e going to need is an old corsage box (but that's just for presentation) any

kind of flowers will do.

I happen to be using wood flowers and faux flowers, a glue gun, glue sticks, a hair tie,

any kind of ribbon will do, the spray paint and this little wood piece are optional.

You could literally use a business card cut in half and glue it to that or anything which

basically makes somewhat of a stable surface to sit on the wrist.

Then your'e going to take this little hair tie, and my daughter's dress has silver in

it, so that's why I am using that.

I am going to use this little wood thing and just spray paint it.

Next, I am going to pull some of the living flowers (well, not really) but rather some

of flowers from this old Valentine's Day bouquet just to kind of give it a more realistic feel.

You are just going to cut the tips of your flowers off, and in the beginning, I would

recommend leaving a little bit of space like that so that you can bend them if you need

to.

Then just kind of go through your old bouquet and pull out what you think is looks the best

still.

Then, the first step is to hot glue your hair tie.

Now, you want to make sure that the tied side is on the top, as in would sit above the wrist

line, because that's going to be kind of clunky and you wouldn't want that showing.

Also, it's not going to show once it's buried under all of the flowers.

Make sure that you have a good thick line of hot glue there and then just go ahead and

press that band in.

I just use this little wooden card that I have to press everything in because hot glue

is the worst thing to get on your fingers.

It just burns so bad, but anyways (laughter).

Go ahead and press this in and let it dry for a second.

That's the little thing that you can see that I spray painted that color just in case somebody

sees it from the bottom.

Now, any kind of ribbon will do, but I happened to have white some white laying around so

that's what I am using.

You are going to kind of make a loop.

You can be pretty loose about the size, but just make sure that it comes out wider than

whatever flowers you think you are going to use.

Go ahead and cut them.

I think my strips ended up being about 5 or 6 inches long, so I just did about six rough

cuts here.

That's what you see me doing.

Then once you cut all of those, you don't have to be super worried about lining them

up, because at the end you can just take them, push them all together and give them one clean

swipe.

Then that way you know that you are working with loops that are all the same size.

There you go.

Now, I used my little friend Mr. Avocado as a stand in arm, because I only just have the

two and I need them both.

It's about the same size as my daughter's little arm and it just happened to work out.

I am just positioning this on top.

Then the first thing that you are going to do is that you are going to take those little

pieces of ribbon and you are going to glue all of the ends together.

You should have 6 in total when you are done.

This is where you kind of just get creative and basically do whatever you want.

I just kind of cross laid them so that it would sort of come out in a star or flower

like pattern.

You can put them any way that you want.

The best thing to do is probably look up some pictures of corsages for inspiration and then

you can just kind of place them around.

Again, what I love about this project is not only was it super fast and easy, but there

is no pressure.

There is no measuring and getting everything so specific.

So, you can see I am being sort of fast and loose with this ribbon here, because again

none of this is going to show.

If you feel like it's sitting out too wide, just move it.

You know, you have a few seconds before it gets really hard.

So, here's the forth one.

Then you are going to lay the two across.

You will see that a lot of corsages do have this as the underpinning.

Um, it does help it to look a little bit more polished and a little bit more elegant.

You can totally skip this step, but I wanted to do it because my daughter is 8 and she

loves anything frilly and shiny.

Alright there you go, and that's basically where you should be at.

Then the next step, you are going to start taking any of that foliage, the baby's breath

or whatever you have.

If you happen to have faux flowers, great, even better, use those because they are not

going to fall off.

These were breaking off everywhere, um and when I finished filming, I had to spray them

with a stiffener.

You just kind of lay them on there any way that you like.

You can change the pattern.

If you feel like, "Oh, I don't really love that. That particular leaf is not working for

me."

Just cut it off and then there you go.

You can see, I am just sort of playing around here, moving stuff and now I going to put

on the actual leaves.

I put the leaves sort of where they would face her body, but you can put them wherever

you want.

Than this is where I start to add the flowers in this layer.

Now, I tried to push it in and under sort of, because I thought that would make it hold

better and then kind of bend it up.

These wood flowers, that really did not work for me.

I was doing it and I was kind of like, "Oh, this is sitting up to high.

I don't love it."

The reason I didn't edit it out is because I just wanted to show you.

Ok, you take it out.

Cut the base off, or the stem off, excuse me.

Then just hot glue it right on to your little area that you are working on.

You know, that's where you can really just be very creative and put together and kind

of a design that you want, which is why this is so wonderful.

You're just going to stick that on there, and try to do it, imagine that you were doing

it in quarters.

Like you are building a square with flowers.

That's what you see me doing here.

I am kind of alternating between pink and white, pink and white.

I think at first that this is going to make it full enough.

Then when I'm really actually done, I feel like there is a little bit of space here and

I wanted it to be very full so that I would have that blooming kind of an effect.

Even right there, it's so beautiful.

I think I could have stopped right there and been just fine.

I'm kind of just pushing everything together.

I'm having a look and trying it on.

Sorry, avocado, you're out of here (snicker) and then we just use the wrist.

We're having a look and I'm looking at it and I'm feeling like, "Oh these things are

sticking out too far.

I don't love that."

It wouldn't bother me as an adult, but she is so little that I think it would sort of

overtake her.

I just kind of cut them back and reglued them and pushed them in further.

Then they look very very full and I just think it's more appropriate for her little wrist.

So that's what you see me doing here.

I'm just going back and kindof fixing that and pushing everything together.

This is where I kind of decide, "No, this thing needs a little more oomph factor.

You know what?

She has silver on her dress, so let's add some silver."

You notice that that hair band that I used was also silver.

I'm just going to take this extra white flower that I have laying around and some silver

spray paint and I will be right back.

There you go, voila!

Make sure to spray inside the flower to.

Then you are going to do the exact same thing here.

You are just going to apply the hot glue.

I pushed mine in to the center just to kind of make it pop.

Then, there you go.

You have your finished corsage.

It is so beautiful.

I kind of feel guilty for all the years that I have paid obscene amounts of money for these

things.

That will not be happening anymore (laughing).

She will be getting homemade ones.

It just looks so elegant against her dress.

I am just in love with it.

In fact, she hasn't even seen it yet because the dance is tonight.

I'm just trying it on for her.

Don't tell her...shhh.

I think it's very very pretty and I'm sure she's going to fall in love with it.

I really hope you guys enjoyed this tutorial.

Lesson 62 Learn English - A great adventure - Present simple vs Present continuous - Duration: 2:55.

Session 62 a great adventure

Billy is thinking of going travelling. He wants to see as much of Europe as he can over four months.

Travelling from the UK, his first port of call is France.

From there, he will make his way through to the South of Spain, up through Portugal,

back through the North of Spain, on to Italy, then Greece,

and then head up to Germany before returning home.

He is travelling on a budget so he will be camping through most of the journey

and he has a fold up bicycle to help save money on travel.

He has never been travelling on his own before and

he wants to make sure he is fully prepared for any eventuality.

He starts writing a list of all the things he thinks he may need for his new adventure.

The list includes a tent, a sleeping bag, a torch and a tin opener, amongst other things.

After completing the list, he realizes that he needs to buy some new equipment.

It is important to have a fully stocked first aid kit.

Though Billy doesn't plan on getting into any scrapes, it is always best to be prepared.

"Better to have and not need, than need and not have", so the saying goes.

He'll need to buy plasters, alcohol wipes and iodine, as well as, a pair of scissors.

The next thing he'll need is phrasebooks for the countries he is planning to visit.

He writes a list of the countries. He includes Romania and The Ukraine,

though he may not have the chance to visit them after his long journey to Greece.

A puncture repair kit for his fold up bicycle is essential.

He doesn't want to get stuck in the middle of nowhere with a flat tyre.

He writes down a sewing kit also, his budget won't allow him to spend money on new socks all the time.

The last thing on his shopping list is waterproof clothing.

Although it is the summer, he knows that France and Germany can get quite wet.

This reminds him that he may need to buy some silicone based sealant for his tent.

He certainly doesn't want to wake up drenched one night.

He checks his inventory and finds that he has a full tube so there is no need to buy more.

He gets back to his list and double checks that he has thought of everything.

Once he is convinced that he hasn't forgotten anything he prepares to go shopping.

This is going to be a great adventure!

Lesson 63 Learn English - 12 tiny men - Past Simple / Past Continuous - Duration: 3:23.

Session 63 twelve tiny men

Patrick Norton is one of the biggest stars in Hollywood today.

From his debut in "To kick a humming bird" at the tender age of 12,

Patrick has climbed the ladder of success and is now soaring the dizzying heights of fame.

With the release of his new blockbuster "12 Tiny Men" Patrick has joined us today to talk about his past,

his present and what the future may hold for America's best loved actor.

Patrick, hi! How are you?

Hi, I'm great. Thanks for having me.

Let's talk about how you got into acting. Where did it all start?

Well, my parents were a cross between beatniks and hippies.

They travelled across America in a camper van.

They were looking for, what they perceived to be, the American dream.

My father worked as a writer for an obscure music magazine

so we spent a lot of time following touring bands.

Of course, we didn't have a television so music played a big part in my life.

That's interesting. Being that you played the part of the son in "To kick a humming bird"

depicting the tragic life of country and western singer, Patsy Cass.

Yes, having some insight into that world certainly helped my performance.

I'd never really thought about acting until I watched "Sunrise Street"

with the country rock band "Holden". It was a ritual they had. They watched it before every gig.

I was mesmerized by Joe Shaefers performance, how he was struggling with his own creativity.

I remembered every line of his from that film and began reciting it, much to the delight of the band members.

It had been a year since the untimely death of Patsy Cass and

Holden had been asked to star in a film about her life.

Impressed by my performance, they agreed only if I had a part in the film.

The casting agent auditioned me for the part of Sonny Green, friend to Max Cass, Patsy's son.

However, they were so impressed with my reading that they gave me the part of Max.

And you've been an actor ever since.

Well, your new release "12 Tiny Men" has done great in its first week and looks to break many records.

What are you working on now?

Well, I'm kind of going back to my roots, I guess.

It's a road movie about a writer who is trying to get over writers block.

My father is going to be my consultant,

which is great as I've been so busy it's been difficult finding time to spend with my family.

Patrick Norton, it has been a pleasure chatting with you.

Good luck with "12 Tiny Men", it's a great movie. I'm sure we all look forward to seeing your next opus.

What is SEO? (A simple explanation) - Duration: 8:53.

- Hey guys, in this video I am going to explain to you

what SEO is.

You've probably heard the term.

Your brother's cousin's roommate's uncle's best-friend's dog

said "you have to do SEO.

"You must do SEO."

You have no idea what it is,

but you're gonna go throw money

at somebody to take care of it for you.

Or hire some guy who

is an SEO expert to take care of it for you

for $25 dollars

a month.

Think again.

That's not how it works.

This is a non-technical video.

I do not get into technical blah, blah, blah, blah, blah,

because honestly that doesn't matter.

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization.

We're gonna break this up into two parts.

The first part is Search Engine.

What is a search engine?

As the internet grew and people realized

the value of being able to share all this information,

being able to look up things

and get all of this information available to you

literally at your fingertips.

Like, right there, from your fingertips.

The internet grew and it grew and it grew and it grew

and it's now more than a billion websites

that exist on the internet today,

which wow, that's so impressive.

That's amazing.

And the fact that with my phone

that's around here somewhere,

here.

With my phone I can look up

and search anything

on a website from my phone

anywhere in the world.

That is just incredible.

But here's where search engines come in.

We're trying to understand search engines

and why they're important,

and why there's so much that goes into that

little

tiny

box

called

Google.

To put this in perspective,

you have to realize that in 2012

Google was searching more than 30 trillion pages

on the internet.

So yes there's a billion websites,

but there was 30 trillion pages.

And you can go "Wow, that is a lot."

but here's the follow-up fact

that will really blow your mind.

As of 2016

we're not even in 2018 yet,

but 2016

Google was searching more than 130 trillion pages.

You know that saying that's like a needle in a haystack?

It's like finding a needle in a haystack.

Whatever the saying is.

Finding a needle in a haystack.

I think I would rather paint a different picture for you

to give you really the magnitude

of what we're talking about here.

You've heard of the Milky Way.

There are over 100 billion planets in the Milky Way.

Imagine Elon Musk gets his way

and we're all floating around in Tesla Jets.

Imagine you get a hankering for a potato.

You want a potato.

Now you just have to find the potato,

but it can be anywhere in the Milky Way.

There's 100 billion planets in the Milky Way.

Now you're just trying to find a potato.

Using a search engine to find what you're looking for

is like finding a potato inside the 7Eleven

on some planet in the Milky Way.

You have no idea where it is.

It's that crazy.

Now let's take the definition of optimization.

Optimization means

the action of making the best or most effective use

of a situation or resource.

People are pushing in search engine optimization

to move their website up.

You could be many many many many pages

back in the search results

and never get found.

Well I just want to explain to you very simply,

how search engines find what you're looking for.

There is actually one word.

Just one word that sums up the whole subject.

Relevancy.

All search engines care about

is who is the most relevant.

Imagine you're trying to find a hot dog.

So you type in hot dog into Google.

The guy at the top is the one that Google

feels is the most relevant search result.

The guys underneath obviously

are less relevant in their eyes.

How do you get more relevant?

And I'm not gonna get into a super detailed video

because I'm gonna create a whole series

about each part of this thing so you really understand it.

This is what we focus on when we do SEO for somebody.

You're going for

how many pages a website has.

The more pages you have,

that's generally an indicator that

a person's putting way more work into the site.

A guy who has a one page website

and a guy who has a 5,000 page website.

Those are two different things.

Google knows the guy who has one page website

isn't necessarily putting as much work into his website.

The frequency that you're updating the website.

So one way that people do that is with blogs.

There's many ways.

News articles, things like that.

But when you're actually creating

good content and you're creating relevant things

that will actually help people,

that's what you're going for.

You want to focus on that.

There are things related to the text

you actually use on the site

because they want to see if you're searching for hot dogs,

they want to see that you're relevant for hot dogs.

They're gonna see text about hot dogs on the page.

They wanna see that people are engaged

and active on your site,

that they're actually spending time on your site,

not just coming to your site and bouncing off.

So how people interact,

creating relevant information

and then directing people into the site,

that's super important.

That's one of the things they're looking for.

Another factor that became very important

in Google trying to find the most relevant search result

was actually your location.

So if you are a location-based business,

meaning it's relevant where you are,

like a lawyer or

a healthcare clinic,

or whatever,

Google is going to narrow down the search results

based on your area.

When you're a person who's looking for a doctor

in Los Angeles, California,

it's highly unlikely in their eyes,

that you're looking for somebody in Tampa, Florida.

Even if you just say doctor.

You don't need to type in doctor Los Angeles or anything.

They know where you are,

yes, they do know where you are.

Big Brother, thank you very much.

But they also know where the businesses are

that could service you.

So in the whole game of relevancy,

they're going to narrow it down by location

to give you the most relevant search result.

Links from other sites to your site because

those links act as a vote of confidence

from another site.

There are so many other things that can be done.

I am not trying to create an in depth guide

to teach you everything about SEO in this one video.

To summarize this,

what is SEO?

SEO is Search Engine Optimization.

What is a search engine?

It's a piece of software that actually helps you find

the most relevant thing that

you're looking for on the internet,

because with a gazillion bazillion trillion pages,

you're gonna need some help with that.

That's what search engines do.

Optimization.

That means making the best use of the resource that you have

which is your website.

So when we are doing that,

we are actually trying to improve your website,

improve your marketing,

improve the value that you provide to other people

so that you move up in search results

and you get to a higher position

when people are then searching for things,

they are going to find your website.

(cheering)

Is it valuable even today in 2018?

Yes, but it can't be a sole component of your strategy.

There are many other things to do like paid advertising

and other things that you can do

that will help improve your overall effectiveness

of generating leads and sales for your business online.

But this is a video about SEO to explain to you what it is.

Hopefully this demystifies any weird concepts,

any crazy things that you've been told,

by your brother's sister's roommate's best-friend's uncle's

grandma's dog's pet hamster/gerbil

who basically told you confusing stuff that made no sense.

I apologize on behalf of everybody else

that has to be so confusing.

It's not.

It really is this.

If someone cannot explain to you simply how SEO works,

then please please please move on.

That's what I had for you today.

Don't forget to Like, Comment, Subscribe.

It helps me out,

understand what you're looking for in videos

and how I can provide more value for you.

I'm gonna continue this series of videos

about online marketing,

about digital marketing,

things that don't matter

I'll say this doesn't matter,

things that do matter I'll tell you this matters.

I wanna give you direction

from a business owner perspective.

I'm not trying to teach you

to be a technical nerd in this video.

This the idea is,

that you understand the basics of how it works,

because honestly most of the technical people out there

don't also understand how this works.

So hope that helps.

See you tomorrow.

How to Make a Simple Rubber Band Handgun - Duration: 0:48.

In this video, I'll show you how to make a simple rubber band handgun.

To make this handgun, all you need is some rubber bands.

To load your gun, simply put a rubber band on your pinky finger and stretch it all the

way to your index finger and carefully balance it on your finger.

To shoot, just open up your pinky finger.

You can shoot targets with this gun.

For example, these matchboxes.

To make your gun semi-automatic, put 3 rubber bands on your hand, but this time just open

up one finger at a time.

To switch from semi-automatic to shotgun blast, open up all 3 fingers at once.

Thank you for watching this video.
