- [Narrator] How much is my case worth?

It's the question we hear most often after an injury?

The short answer, as much as we can demonstrate,

but to find that out we have some questions for you.

Some amounts are straight forward

like the total of your medical bills

or the number of workdays you missed.

Other costs are more abstract.

Did your injury keep you from staying physically active?

Were you able to continue your hobbies?

Were your relationships affected?

Also the same injury doesn't

necessarily merit the same payout.

We know that multiple concussions can lead to brain damage

so there's a difference between

suffering your first concussion and your 10th.

What's the cost of living the rest of your life

with a physical impairment?

The answer for a 20 year old versus a 70 year old

is much different.

Think about opportunities you've missed out on.

Maybe you were up for a work promotion,

which your injury delayed, or even prevented.

Maybe you're a high school athlete

and your injury ruined your chance at a college scholarship.

These factors all have an economic component

and don't forget about the future.

Can you go back to work?

Will you still make the same wage?

Do you require more medical care going forward?

If your case goes to trial,

jury perception becomes a big issue.

If someone looked at pictures of your car after an accident

would they say, they're lucky to be alive,

or would they say, I can't believe they were even hurt.

What about your conduct?

Were you completely blameless in the accident

or were you speeding, texting, or even worse...

In short, each case is unique and so is it's worth

and remember a personal injury case

is not a windfall and it's not a lottery ticket.

We all start at sea level.

An accident puts you underwater.

We want you back to sea level, not at the top of a mountain.

Our job is to make sure everything taken aways from you

is restored to where it was before the accident.

How Much to Put in 401K [and Other Crucial Retirement Questions] - Duration: 8:58.

More than seven million retirees live in poverty and tens of millions more are just scraping

by because of mistakes in 401K investing.

By the end of this video, you'll know the five worst 401K mistakes and how to avoid

them.

In fact, I'm going to show you how avoiding just one of these mistakes can lead to big

savings in your nest egg.

We're talking 401K investing today on Let's Talk Money!

Fidelity has released its annual survey of retirement account balances and it's not

a pretty picture.

The average person just before retirement has about $167,000 in their 401K account.

That's about five-times the annual salary of around $35,000.

And not nearly enough to retire on.

If you go by the rule of thumb that you can take out about 4% of your investments to pay

for expenses in retirement, that $167K means retiring on just $6,700 a year and that's

before taxes.

It's easy to see why two-in-three retirees depend on social security for most of their

expenses but even added the average $1,360 monthly SSI check means you're living on

just over $1,900 a month or about $23,000 a year.

Now I don't know what state you live in but you compare that with your expenses and

I don't know anyone that can live on $23,000 a year.

Even for married couples with two SSI checks, it comes out under $3,000 a month.

These were supposed to be the golden years, the years you worked your whole life to enjoy.

You're enjoying them alright, if you enjoy ramen noodles and bus passes.

It doesn't have to be like this!

We all think that people don't save or invest enough but a big part of the problem is the

mistakes they make when they do invest.

Investing just $250 a month starting at age 35 can grow to over $350,000 by the time you

retire if you keep your fees and costs low.

Invest that same amount but lose 4% of it to fees and all the hidden costs that come

with 401K plans and you're stuck right back in that studio apartment eating ramen.

Of course, the beauty of that 401K plan is your employer match.

If your company matches just half that $3,000 a year and you avoid those high fees and other

costs, that nest egg can grow to over half a million by age 67.

That's enough for an income of $3,100 with SSI for a single person or almost $4,500 for

a married couple.

It might not be filet mignon but it's a nice little start.

The key here is to avoid those huge fees, mistakes and pitfalls in those 401K plans

and that's exactly what we're going to talk about in today's video.

Not only will I reveal the five worst mistakes people make with their 401K investing, I'll

share three tips to avoid these pitfalls and a way to get a free 401K analysis to save

you from those hidden fees.

It's all part of a three-part video series in partnership with Blooom.

Now Blooom is an independent 401K manager that works with your existing retirement account.

You can connect your 401K account and Blooom's software will show you the investment fees

you're paying, and how to get back on track.

I'll tell you more about Blooom later and share a special offer to get your free 401K

health analysis but first let's get to those five 401K mistakes.

First here is being too aggressive or too conservative with your 401K investments.

With retirement balances what they are, it's easy to chase those returns in stocks even

all the way to retirement.

The problem is, and you can ask anyone that was planning to retire in 2008, that as you

get closer to retirement, you need to start thinking about protecting your money as much

as growing it.

Having too much in stocks is just setting you up for a stock market crash to wipe out

half your nest egg.

Being too conservative is also a big problem though, especially for millennials still gun-shy

after the 2008 crash.

If we look back on that investment of $250 a month but only earn a 6% annual return from

too much in bonds then even the best case scenario yields just $237,000 by retirement.

The second mistake a lot of people make with their 401K investments is putting everything

in a Target Date fund.

Now these are popular because supposedly, they invest according to your age and rebalance

with stocks and bonds as you get older.

The problem here is these things are so darn expensive.

For example, the Principal LifeTime 2040 fund charges 1.14% annually.

That's almost five-times the average index fund.

Another problem with these target date funds is they tend to be wildly over-conservative.

Some funds I looked at have more than 20% of the investments in bonds for investors

with 20+ years to retirement and that's going to seriously limit returns.

Our third major 401K mistake is just forgetting to rebalance the investments in your account.

This is important because you might start with a great mix of stocks and bonds in your

30s but if you're not rebalancing and shifting how much you want in each, you could be way

off by the time you reach retirement.

You're going to be more exposed to a stock market crash and the amount you have in stocks

versus bonds will be way off from what you need.

In fact, a survey of 5,500 Blooom clients found that 59% didn't regularly rebalance

their investments and 21% didn't even know about rebalancing before they started using

Blooom.

The fourth 401K mistake, and this is probably the worst, is not watching those fees.

Inc magazine found that 92% of Americans don't know what fees they're paying in their 401K

accounts.

That same survey by Blooom found that just one-in-five investors were active in minimizing

their fees.

We know what a huge difference just a small change in fees can mean to your retirement

savings.

Forbes found in one study that a difference of just 0.93%, less than 1%, in fees can cost

a single investor up to $215,000.

Considering the average Blooom client in a target date fund sees their fees reduced by

42%, that can mean a big change in your retirement.

Our fifth 401K mistake before we get to those three tips is one of the biggest 401K misconceptions

of all, that someone is managing your account.

Just because you invest through your company's plan and with an investment company, doesn't

mean anyone is managing your 401K investments.

The investment company is busy selling to new clients, they may not be doing anything

with your account.

You set your 401K investments when you sign up to the plan and they don't change unless

you change them.

That's going to set you up for all the pitfalls we talked about in this video.

As bad as these 401K mistakes are, there are a few things you can do to avoid them and

make sure your money is there when you need it.

First, understand how your investments should change as you age.

There are rules of thumb like 100 minus your age for the amount you want in stocks but

these leave a lot of risk to your personal goals.

As you get older, your needs shift to protecting your money rather than chasing those high

returns so you need to be proactive in shifting your investments.

You also need to rebalance your investments regularly.

This isn't about timing the stock market but about staying on track according to your

needs.

If you're constantly investing the same amount in stocks and bonds, the stock-portion

of your portfolio is going to grow much faster during a bull market.

That means it's going to get out of whack with that perfect mix you need according to

your goals.

Finally here is just to watch those fees.

Make sure your 401K plan isn't charging you load fees to buy or sell and compare the

annual fees on your funds.

Some of the easiest solutions like those target date funds charge the highest fees.

This last tip is where Blooom really shines and it's shown people how to save over $608

million in investment fees on their 401K accounts.

They also take care of all the rebalancing and management as well.

The best way to make sure you're not making these 401K mistakes is to get that free analysis

with Blooom.

It takes less than two minutes to connect with your 401K plan and Blooom will do a complete

health checkup on your retirement account.

It's going to show you where your investments are, where they should be and all the fees

you're paying.

There's no obligation to the analysis.

How much would you weigh on a Neutron Star? - Duration: 3:17.

How much would I weigh on a Neutron Star?

Neutron stars contain the densest matter in the universe, not including black holes which

break the laws of physics and are not really things anymore, a topic for another video.

Neutron stars are the compressed remains of dead, massive stars, stars that were big enough

to erupt in a supernova explosion, leaving behind an extremely dense core.

This core can contain up to three times the mass of our Sun in the space of only a 12-30km

across.

The material that makes up a neutron star is called neutron-degenerate matter, a material

that only contains neutrons.

It is so densely packed that a matchbox full of it would weigh 3 billion tonnes on Earth.

But this leads on to an interesting point, the way we weigh something on Earth is by

an object pressing down on the Earth because of the strength of Earth's gravity.

Yet, the measurement we use to define something's weight is by describing its mass.

For instance, if I say I weigh 70kg, that is actually my mass, not my weight, because

weight is measured by the strength of gravity on mass.

On Mars, my mass of 70kg is the same, but my weight is lighter because gravity is weaker

there.

On a neutron star, all this mass squeezed into the tightest of spaces means that gravity

there is 2 x 10^11 times more than Earth, or 200 billion times stronger than on Earth.

To put this into some kind of perspective, this means that if I were to fall from a height

of one meter from the surface of a neutron star, I would hit the ground at 1,500 kms

per second.

It's so strong that light can go in orbit around it, meaning you can technically see

the whole neutron star at the same time.

So, although this is far outside the realms of possibility, if I were to stand on a neutron

star, my weight would be 200 billion times greater than it is on Earth - imagine how

much force I would be exerting on the floor of the neutron star!

Not that it cares - because it is so densely packed!

What would actually happen to my fragile body is that it would flatten against the surface

to an atomic scale, likely turning into neutron-degenerate matter as my atoms are crushed.

This powerful gravitational field means that neutron stars are also the most perfect spheres

in the universe, likely being completely smooth.

Was hat mein Iwagumi gekostet? | How much was my Iwagumi? - Duration: 3:52.

Hello and welcome!

In this video I show you how much my Iwagumi did cost in total.

I have bought the following products for my Iwagumi : First, of course, the aquarium,

then a foam pad as underlayer and a background film.

The Iwagumi is illuminated by the Aqualighter® Pico LED.

I used the Dennerle® natural gravel Baikal, the Dennerle® Scaper's Soil and the

Dennerle® Nano inside corner filter in the aquarium.

As plants I have bought a cup of Micranthemum Monte Carlo, a cup of Eleocharis acicularis

mini and a cup Hydrocotyle tripartita from Tropica® and one cup of Staurogyne

Repens by Oliver Knott®.

The stones for the hardscape are from the garden.

You will find a list of all products and plants i used in the video description.

I bought the 12 liter aquarium in size 30x20x20 cm in a hardware store and

paid 10,99 euros for it.

The foam pad has in size 60x30cm cost 4 euros.

I have cut it in 3 parts for each one of my aquariums, so divide 4 Euros

through 3, that's about

1.35 euros.

If I had to buy the background foil, I would have to spend about

7 euros for a roll of 2m x 45 cm.

Of that I would have needed a strip of 20 cm, so I calculate 2 Meter by 7 euros

divided by 10 = 70 cents.

The Aqualighter® Pico LED cost 19,95 Euro and I ordered it on the internet

so I had to ad 5.95 Euros for shipping.

So the Lamp came for a total of 25.90 Euros.

I got the Dennerle® natural gravel Baikal in a sale for 6 euros, normally

it costs around 12 Euros.

The Dennerle® Scaper's Soil was 17.98 Euros and the Dennerle® Nano

Corner inside filter was 14,45 Euro.

The 3 plant cups from Tropica® were 6.99 euros each, the cup of Staurogyne repens

by Oliver Knott® has cost 8.99 euros.

For all 4 plants together I have spend 29.96 Euro in total.

If you sum up all this I have spent a total of 107.33 Euros for my Iwagumi.

That is quite some money, if you consider that the bare aquarium is with 11 Euros only about

10% of the total cost.

I have bought all products in brick-and-mortar stores except the lamp and maybe

you can save Euros by ordering via the internet.

My stones were free for me, but if you have to buy them, you can spend

at least 20 euros for them.

For scissors and tweezers for the aquarium maintenance I paid about 15 euros,

but that was a one-time purchase for all three of my aquariums.

Fertilizer for about 7 euros

and the pretty cheapest CO2 System from Tropica® for 10 euro

as I operate it on the neighboring tank, are also not included in the calculation,

because I have not used them in my Iwagumi yet.

Would you ad this to the calculation it would come to a total of almost 160 Euros.

I hope I could give you a little overview

how much you have to spend at least for such an aquascape with this video.

As you can see from this example, you do not have to spend several hundreds or even

thousands of euros, if you want to create something nice like that.

If you liked the video, then I am very happy about a thumb up,

subscribe to the channel and activate the notification bell, so don't miss

the next video!

I say goodbye and thanks for watching!

Paying too much for bottled gas? - Using refillable bottle to make it cheaper and easier - Vanlife - Duration: 4:31.

Are you sick of carrying more gas around than you need or just annoyed at paying too much

for it. stick around and I'll show you what we did to make it cheaper and

easier. keep up to date by hitting the subscribe button and you can visit us

at explorevan.uk where you can read more about us our vans and our trips. if

you find this video useful please hit the like button and consider subscribing,

also if you want to ask any questions just drop them in the comments and we'll

get back to you as soon as we can. I'm sure you all have the same issues as

we do when it comes to gas, so with these you have to throw them away or

take them to an authorised stockist to have them refilled, not only

is this annoying but it costs a lot more than it should. So the main problems are

having to weigh or guess how much gas you've got left, having to carry around two

bottles of gas so you know you won't run out, having to find a dealer for the

right type of gas just so you can get a new bottle, you might even have to take

back a part full cylinder and waste all the gas in it, just so you've got a full

one to take on your next trip and then there's the cost, let's take a look. let's

start with a camping gas 907 cylinder there's 2.75 kilograms of gas in here

and it will cost you 30 pounds to exchange the bottle however at an auto

gas pump the same amount of gas would cost four pound 31 how about a Calor six

kilogram well they're 25 pound 25 P to exchange but the equivalent amount of

autogas costs 9 pounds 40 and finally a Calor 13 kilogram 40 pound 52 to exchange but

the equivalent gas from a pump 20 pounds 38.

We chose a six kilogram GasIT SOLUTION mainly due to value for money at

around 170 pounds but also the fact we can support a local Welsh business. let's

take a look at what our gas set up used to look like, as you can see we carried

around a 13 kilogram and a 6 kilogram Calor cylinders this was so that we

always knew if we ran out, we had a backup ready because you never know

whether you could get to a calor outlet to get a replacement....and here's what it

looks like with our GasIt refillable solution, taking up less space weighing

a lot less and much more convenient

installation was really easy I went for installing the filler on the inside of

the van so I didn't have to cut a hole on the outside, other than that it

really is as easy as changing a Calor gas bottle, as you can see the outlet on the

GasIt bottle is a different fitting to Calor, you can either replace the pigtail

but I decided to fit an adapter which meant that I can always switch back to

Calor if I wanted to, though really I don't think that's going to happen. Because the gas

cylinder has a gauge we can easily tell how much gas we've got and we can

always top up at any filling station with LPG just to make sure we've always

got a full tank. that means we don't have to carry around two calor cylinders to

make sure we've always got enough for what we need

refilling the tank is as easy as filling up a car with lpg it is simple

all you have to do is connect the hose from the pump to the van Inlet press the

button on the pump and then it will fill until the capacity of the tank hits 80%

and then it will shut down, disconnect that's it byou are full. when we're traveling

in mainland Europe we don't need to worry now about taking loads of Calor gas

with us because we know we can't get it out there, all we have to do is

remember to take sets of adapters so we can fill up at any pump at any LPG

station. So if you're considering going with a refillable gas option I would

just do it, not only is it cheaper in the long run, but also it's so much more

convenient. Keep up to date by hitting the subscribe button and you can visit

us at ExplorerVan.uk, where you can read more about us, our vans and our

trips

What UK Means to Joe B. Hall - Duration: 0:57.

When I went on the floor, my first time as a player, in old Alumni Gym and the band was

playing "On, On U of K" and I came out of the tunnel onto the floor with "Kentucky"

written across my chest, the hairs stood up on the back of my neck.

There couldn't have been a bigger thrill in your life.

And every time I ever represented the university even on the road or here at home with one

of my teams, the start of that game, I remembered my first trip out on that floor and I think

I had the same sensation when the band played "On, On U of K" that I had that first

night and that was a great feeling.
