Their 19-year marriage has been the stuff of legend - pop star meets rising England footballer, they fall in love, have a £1million wedding featuring actual golden thrones, and have stayed together ever since
But Victoria and David Beckham's romance started out with seedy car-park dates and snatched moments in hotels before it became the multimillion-pound behemoth we all know and love
In her 2001 autobiography Learning To Fly, Victoria opened up about the start of their dating life and how she desperately tried to keep their relationship secret from her friends, parents - even the Spice Girls' manager, Simon Fuller
David Beckham opens up about the "hard work" involved in "complicated" marriage to Posh Of the weeks after they met, but before they'd had sex for the first time, Posh Spice had to dump her previous boyfriend Stuart Bilton - and said Simon was desperate to keep a lid on her blossoming love for David
"Simon was still adamant that we should be seen in public as little as possible
But at the same time he was such a Man United obsessive that he was getting off on playing the ring-master role," Victoria wrote
Her manager even wanted to be involved in when Posh and Becks finally consummated their relationship - something Victoria said she felt uncomfortable with
"A few weeks after me and David met he [Simon] suggested that we go away for a few days
To a great hotel he know in Italy. He'd make all the bookings, he said, giving me a look
It would be totally incognito," she recalled. "He was basically arranging the first place we should have sex
I had the feeling he expected me to say, 'Oh, thank you, thank you, Simon'. That was one thing I didn't want scheduled
" Instead, the couple made secret plans behind Simon's back to meet for a hotel tryst while the other Spice Girls hung out in Manchester for the Price's Trust concert at the Manchester Opera House
Becks picked her up from their hotel in his metallic blue BMW and took her back to his place, despite Simon's warnings she needed to stay with the rest of the band
But, refusing to be treated like a teenager with a curfew, VB decided to spend the night with David and got him to drop her back in the early hours of the next morning so she could sneak in, ruffle up her bed and pretend she'd been there all along
The next night, David appeared on the red carpet of the Price's Trust concert wearing a burgundy Gucci suit that Victoria had secretly bought him
"No socks and a pair of loafers. The press just loved it - they'd have loved even more what they didn't see," she quipped in her book
Their relationship quickly became public, despite Simon's attempts, and when David proposed to Victoria with a beautiful Tiffany engagement ring six months later, she was thrilled - but still scared about how to play it out in public
"I didn't dare say anything to anyone. I was still terrified of what Simon would say
Well, I knew what Simon would say - he would go mad," she wrote. "He had this thing he used to repeat time and time again - that a man would split the Spice Girls up
So why didn't I just tell him to go to hell? The truth is I was frightened of what he could do
He had such power, he could make it even more difficult for me to see David. And it was going to be difficult enough anyway
" The press found out about the engagement from a tip-off - but the Beckhams' news was knocked off the front page by the shocking death of Princess Diana
The couple wed in an extravagant ceremony in July 1999, with Gary Neville as Becks' best man, and went on to have four children - sons Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz, and daughter Harper
