Dimash Kudaibergen - "All by Myself" Singer 2017 review | dyskusja - Duration: 22:45.

Hey! It's nice to see You again!

Today - the next episode of I'm Singer

episode 9

Dimash sings "All By Myself"

Great song, and definitely one of my favorite Dimash's performances in this show

It's a fantastic song

very well known

and hard one for sure

many artists have been singing it, so we have many covers

sung by both female and male voices

we have really a lot of versions

and today Dimash joins these performers in the I'm Singer program

This song was composed and published by the American singer Eric Carmen in 1975

but creating it, he based on two other works

The first of these works is the Piano Concerto No 2 c-minor by Sergei Rachmaninoff

Rachmaninoff was a Russian pianist, composer and conductor

And a chorus is based on a part of a song Raspberries band

It is a band in which Eric sang before he began a solo career

It's exactly the song "Let's pretend"

but to be honest,e I listened to this song twice and ....

I don't know, I cannot find this similarity ..

maybe it's not very obvious, or I didn't listened well ?

well I just didn't hear it ;)

But if it comes to Rachmaninoff piano concert

Here you can hear it very well

we listen a part of this concert today

and with this similarity comes some unpleasant story ...

Eric Carmen used a part of melody to create his own song

but he didn't asked about copyrights and released the album

In the USA there is a law that all works published before 1922 year

are in public domain and can be used without the copyrights permission

This concert also was in this domain, because it was composed and released earlier

However, this law applies only in the USA

outside the US it is different

basically in every country in the world it is different

and if somebody releases an album, it's obvious that it's going out all over the world

so you have to take into account other countries

Perhaps Eric actually was not aware of it

unfortunately, heirs of Rachmaninov came to him with allegations of copyright infringement

and the case ended amicably

Carmen committed to give away 12% of every profit from the song "All by myself"

And it was not a small sum of money, this song brought him great success

It was the same with another of his song

in which he also used a fragment of this concert but from the third part (here from the second part)

and here also they established similar rules for payments

so unfortunately, it costs him a lot

maybe it's a good thing that it ended like that, because it could be worse;)

like I said, there are many covers of this song

But perhaps the most famous, is a cover sung by Celine Dion

She made that this song has become very popular

she sang it during her concerts all over the world

Céline is a huge star, everyone knows her and she sings it fantastically

she sings this song in English but also in Spanish

And she really made the song famous, and she's singing it till today

excuse me...

what else...

oh yes, the lyrics

what is this song about

all by myself

Lyrics can sing both the woman and man, here it does not matter

The author says that when he was young, he liked to play

he made love just for fun

He did not care about the important things, I lived for the moment

But those days are gone ...

And he is alone

"When I try to call old friends - the phone is silent"

the number is no longer valid?

or no one is at home..

" I do not want to be alone"

"I don't want to be never alone"

But unfortunately, he spent all his youth having fun, when friends at that time assumed famillies

And this time has already passed

So it's a sad song but it's not terribly dramatic

It's probably also depends on the interpretation

And in my opinion, the interpretation of Celine Dion, for example, is very different from that of Dimash.

Dimash as usual, sang it in his own special way :)

but I will tell about it at the end

Now I have for you a little mix

We will listen in turn - a fragment of the concert - listen to the strings

There, the melody of the verse is clearly heard

then we'll see a fragment like Eric Carmen sings

then a piece of Céline Dion

and at the end we'll see Dimash :)

Let's start

That is Sergei Rachmaninoff

if someone was curious how he looked like

As you have heard, there is a huge difference between how Eric sang it and Celine Dion.

Eric composed a beautiful song, but he does not have great vocal abilities

While Celine Dion sings wonderfully, and made this song absolutely a piece of art

but Dimash, of course, also "managed it" ;)

I'm not prolonging, let's see I'm Singer

oh yes oh yes oh yes

I will stay on this cool frame

Do you also feel how your blood pressure is being raised every time (every time!) ?

blood flows faster in the veins

outstanding!

Does it require a comment at all?

Here, the comment really is superfluous!

It was a revelation, pure pleasure!

I also love the look on the faces of people - especially in this episode!

From speachless through tears

hot cheeks

eyes wide open

Wonderful, wonderful!

It really has to be fantastic to listen to Dimash live

There are no words, no one knows what to say

This performance simply takes our voice away

But I wanted to pay attention only to one thing

All previous covers - including those of Eric and Celine, were charged with the rather sad emotions

And Dimash added the icing on the cake

He flirted with the audience a little

I mean the solo a capella moment

that's what I was talking about

we can even see his smile

He created a slightly different atmosphere of this song

and I think he took it with a grain of salt

of course, listening to this song, we feel great excitement and emotions

But Dimash did a good job of unloading the tension and he gave the vocal performance at the same time

it was very good and very surprising

that's why I look at this song a bit differently now

he changed her mood gently

and he did it in a charming way

Presenting once again his vocal capabilities

I liked it very much

Well, well, as always wonderful Dimash

They like all his performance, because he is in it - like in this picture, like a conductor on the stage!

Dimash enters the scene with a smile, maybe even slightly embarrassed greets the audience

And when the lights turned off and the first sounds of music are heard, he gets into the mood

And not only when he sings, but also when he does not sing

you can see that he's all in this music, like in a trance

that is why we are watching him on the stage with such pleasure

we're not just listening to him

It is a pleasure for the ears and the eyes

incredible pleasure!

What I still wanted to add at the end ...

Now everyone lives mainly with Dimash's concert

there are already lots of fragments from this concert to watch

new songs

of course I could not resist, I listened to them too

they are wonderful!

And I would like to say something about these songs (make a video), although I do not know what, because I do not know anything about them :)

But unfortunately all these recordings are from smartphones, they are of poor quality

I don't know, maybe I'll wait for a more professional recording?

or on music video?

It will probably be nicer to watch then than now, but with poor quality recording

For now I will continue recording with I'm Singer. In the meantime, something more professional from new songs or from the concert itself may appear

And I have a dream

I dream of being at the concert of Dimash - as you know. But apart from that

In a few days I receive a new passport and then I am waiting for a date for the next concert

I hope that this will not be on the other side of the world!

But to be honest ...

I hope that one day I will have such a chance

participate in the more intimate concert of Dimash

maybe it will not be such a big show

maybe on a smaller stage

perhaps more acoustically?

Tickets could be 3 times more expensive

but I personally (maybe I'm getting old :)) would see Dimash on a smaller stage, in a peacefull setting, so that the audience could enjoy this more

It does not have to be a big show, because all you need is Dimash to sing

This is, of course, my personal feeling

I just would gladly participated in this kind of a concert

Although, of course, I understand the formula of today's concerts, Dimash is young, he must also go crazy and fun

He's making the show and it is definitely an unforgettable experience for everyone

Nevertheless, I hope that in the future will also be concerts in a smaller format

maybe it will be easier to get an autograph afterwards?

I guess I can dream;)

Thank you very much!

Of course, thank you for your comments

I'm trying to catch up, and write back to you

but you are really crazy!

Because it's really unrealistic to answer every comment! :)

but I read read read

I thank you again!

and see you, there are several episodes from I'm Singer ahead of us

and then we'll see what further;)

bye Bye!

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers - S02E20 - Episode Review - Duration: 5:33.

Welcome to Ranger Reviews, a webseries where we look at episodes of the tv show, Power

Rangers and then discuss it!

Today, we're exploring the eightieth episode of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers as well as

the twentieth episode of Season 2, titled "Opposites Attract".

At the Youth Center, Billy and Trini are talking about a device that Billy has built.

He's going to be monitoring a solar storm today with it.

Kimberly shows up with her friend Laura who is going to help her lead the Angel Grove

Angelettes into the forest to show that they know how to use a compass and earn a badge.

Seems sketchy, if you ask me.

Also, Billy and Laura are immediately taken with one another, and Trini pokes fun at the

situation with Billy.

Billy says he'd join them, but she's the outdoors type, so they must have nothing in

common.

Shallow, Billy.

Shallow.

Zedd is also now aware of the unstable magnetic field that is going to occur from the solar

storm, and he plans to utilize this opportunity.

At the Youth Center, the Angelettes show up, and Kim gives them a box to carry before Bulk

and Skull come in, screaming at little girls.

They also have a device to send a message to the Power Rangers via a satellite, and

Billy warns them to be careful.

Laura says she's a little worried about the storm, and Kim says, "we have a compass,

what could go wrong?" when we smash cut to Zedd going "plenty could go wrong!".

It's great.

Oh, and Jason, Tommy, and Zack are working out together.

At the Billy's lab, he looks at a monitor saying it'll happen soon.

Cool.

In the woods, Kim and Laura have lead the Angelettes into the forest, and they tell

them to walk around, and if they find red flags, they've gone too far.

Also, if they get lost, they'll be using the buddy system, but worse comes to worse,

sit down and scream for help.

Dude, that's not going to save them at all.

They could be abducted by predators!

Speaking of which, Bulk and Skull are also in the forest with a machine, trying to see

if their machine is working to send that message to the Power Rangers.

Billy is in a park with a giant magnet device and a bunch of equipment, and Zedd sends down

Goldar, and Billy just starts beating the crap out of the putties and Goldar.

Damn, Billy, you really glowed up.

Unfortunately, Goldar steals the magnet anyways, and Billy takes his frustrations out on the

putties.

He wins, and he states he has to get back to the Command Center.

Goldar is… still in the park despite having teleported away, and he sets the device down,

which Zedd turns into a monster named Magnetbrain.

He's going to control the planet's polarity, and we see that the compasses that the little

girls have are freaking out while everyone in the juice bar is getting knocked all over

like it's a damn earthquake.

And money is just flying out of the cash register?

This isn't how a planet's polarity works at all.

But then Bulk and Skull are freaking out, and their machine sparks before a fake ass

bear shows up looking like he's about to box them.

Kim and Laura hurry to the Angelettes, and Zedd says he wants Goldar to go down with

putties to kill Kim.

Kim is going to go look for the forest ranger like they're going to know what to do, and

she calls Zordon, teleporting to the Command Center to meet up with the other five rangers.

They get caught up about Magnetbrain, and they decide to split up with Tommy going to

fight Goldar and the putties by the little girls, and the others will fight Magnetbrain.

Something weird here is that Billy insists he goes instead of Tommy, and Zordon basically

says "no, you're too smart for this", so they split up.

Then, Magnetbrain attacks the five core Rangers before putties show up, which leads into Tommy

showing up to fight putties and Goldar by….

Flying through the air?

They're getting a little string happy here.

The Angelettes talk about how cool the White Ranger is because of course they do before

it's back to watching the Rangers fight the putties, and Kim just… climbs a pole?

Tommy defeats all the putties, finally dealing with Goldars to the tune of Go White Ranger,

which is Go Green Ranger with the color replaced basically.

The others are still fighting putties before Magnetbrain fires at Jason, who flies off

of a bunch of piping, and he and Zack are getting attacked.

Tommy kicks Goldar hard enough to make him disappear while Kim throws a putty into a

cardboard box.

This is the most boring episode ever.

Jason calls for the Power Blaster, and the group bring them together, firing at Magnetbrain,

who flies away.

Zedd then makes him grow, forcing the Rangers to call out their Thunderzords, forming the

Thunder Megazord, which they still refer to as the Mega Thunder Zord.

Magnetbrain fires a magnet at them, sticking it to them, but they just rip it off before

they just take out the Thunder Saber and brutally murder this dude, causing Billy's device

to return.

At the Youth Center, Kim and Laura give the Angelettes the bravery badge because they

didn't panic during a serious situation.

Then, Bulk and Skull come running in, screaming about how the bear is still following them,

and the Angelettes help them.

Then, Laura sees Billy, hitting on him and telling him that she actually knows science

and stuff, which Billy is totally into.

The Angelettes help Bulk and Skull, and the Zack and Jason laugh with the others when

this episode just abruptly… ends?

This is a rough one, guys.

You can tell the writers are REALLY struggling with Dairanger footage with Zyuranger suits,

and it's showing the cracks of this three cent production.

Unfortunately, that's not the worst news I have for you.

This is the last episode three of the Rangers were even on set for.

From now on, they'll be played by stand ins, almost exclusively dubbed by impression

voice actors in suit, and they'll just not be around most of the time.

Which three?

Well, the next episode will make that abundantly clear.

Trust me.

Other than that, let's see how they try to write episodes about six characters with

only 3 actors in the next episode, but until then, may the power protect you!

2017 Tech Sector Review and Look Ahead - Duration: 1:44.

[MUSIC PLAYING]

The tech sector outperformed all other sectors by a wide margin

over the course of 2017.

Artificial intelligence, the internet

of things, augmented and virtual reality, block chain

technology, the huge price increase of Bitcoin

and other cryptocurrencies, along with intelligence

assistance, were some of the big trends.

While many of the industries in the sector saw growth in 2017,

the semiconductor industry rallied strongly

as big data, mobile computing, gaming,

and cryptocurrency mining help support demand

for these company's products.

Outside of semiconductors the hardware, storage,

and peripherals industry was another strong performer

within the tech sector this year.

As we head into 2018, some analysts

have cautioned that parts of the tech sector

appear to be overvalued, while others still have

an outperform rating on tech, and think

there's room for growth.

Either way, after such a big run,

investors might be looking to lock in some profits.

And the sector saw some selling pressure

towards the end of 2017.

In 2018, consider checking in on your stocks, at least

every quarter by listening to company's earnings calls,

and reading through their earnings announcements.

And if your portfolio becomes heavily concentrated in one

sector after a strong rally, you might

want to consider evaluating the stocks and ETFs you

own to make sure you're comfortable with how

your portfolio is balanced.

Warhammer 40000 Dawn Of War 3 Review (PC) - Duration: 4:48.

Hey everyone and welcome to ManaCora!

Today, we're gonna take a look at the RTS game Warhammer 40K: Dawn Of War 3, the last

of the currently revealed January 2018 Humble Bundle games.

I've never played a Warhammer game, so lets see what we've got.

Like most real time strategy games, you've got the choice between playing a pre-set campaign

that runs you through the different race choices (humans, orks with a k or eldar) and plays

out the story line for you. On the other hand, you've got the multiplayer setting that lets

you take on other people (or AI players) on a pre-created map with pre-set victory conditions.

Jumping right into things, graphically Dawn Of War 3 is pretty impressive. They mix together

a dark, gritty future with ancient mystical design really well and the art style works

with this overall theme. Though it does come along with a mature rating, so people who

are a little squeamish watch out cause it does get a little bloody along the way.

The controls are pretty good to use, though I would have preferred movement handled by

the WASD format rather than the arrow keys, as it would have allowed for more seemless

control of the view and my troops at the same time.

Speaking of troop control, Dawn Of War 3 jumps this to a whole new level over the RTS games

I've played previously, which has largely been Age Of Empires and Starcraft. The individual

weaknesses and strength of each troop type really seems far more in depth and important

than just the number of troops you create. You really need to have a handle on which

troops are good for what purpose and which abilities each type has if you really want

to master this game.

And micro management? That's a definite must. With individual cloaked sections of the map,

parts that can only be reached by units that can jump and shield generating capture points,

you'd better be ready to fly all over the map and keep your units moving!

This is especially true in a multiplayer match where you have escalation phases that increase

over time. They return less resources to you when a unit dies but they also increase the

health of structures and resources received from gathering.

An advantage that's given to both you and your enemies, so you'd better make sure you're

on point.

Along with the standard units, you're also able to select Elite units, which can be summoned

after collecting enough elite points (which are resources on the map). These units are

pre-selected before the match and even level up as you use them, making them stronger with

each success or failure and even allowing their individual bonuses to be assigned to

your entire army.... Once you've levelled them enough.

You get three of these bonuses, known as doctrines, that can really be used to your advantage

and also to define your own play style.

As for you own style, you're actually able to assign to your colour scheme to your units,

which is a nice callback to the Warhammer tabletop game this is based on and it really

lets you show your individuality.

The list of built in maps for multiplayer is surprisingly impressive and with steam

workshop and an in built map editor, that can be easily expanded to increase the games

re-playability. Though it's a shame the map editor isn't actually built into the game

directly.

I checked in on the multiplayer occasionally and there was always at least one match request waiting

in the queue. Maybe it was a bit of a slow time and while it was good to see at least

some activity, it does seem a little disappointing for a game that only came out this year to

have so few matches running.

Overall, Warhammer 40K Dawn Of War 3 is a decent RTS, especially if you're looking for

something a bit more adult and advanced than the usual ones.

Graphics that work well with the genre and design, creative maps and all sorts of ways

to make your army more individual to your own style are all high points in this game....

Let down a little by the control system, which was good but not great.

The campaign had an interesting story to it, though I would have preferred to go through

it one race at a time rather than switching in between missions, but it was a good way

to give you experience with them all before you tackled the multiplayer mode.

At the end of it all, Dawn Of War 3 gets 3 "Orcs with a K" out of 5.

It was a good bit of fun and is a recommended title for RTS fans looking for something a

bit more advanced, tactical and aimed at a mature audience.

Well, that's it from me. Be sure to like, subscribe, comment below on what you thought

of Dawn Of War 3 or what other games you'd like me to check out and be sure to tune into

my video next week where I'll be checking out the early access game "Closers" for PC.

If you enjoyed watching Dawn Of War 3, be sure to head over to Humble Bundle and pickup

their January Humble Monthly before it's too late!

The link's down in the description!

Anyway, I'll see you all in game!

BRIGHT - 30 Second Movie Review - Duration: 0:44.

Bright is the new Netflix Original and it certainly earns that label - because it's

definitely

...on Netflix.

Painfully dull and derivative - Bright is a colourless, uninspired mess that seems to

be more concerned with making its socio-political agenda known than it is with being an enjoyable

film.

It lazily attempts to balance buddy cop drama with fantasy elements, resulting in a tonally

bipolar film, that is unfocused, confusing, and above all, pointless - though Joel Edgerton

does deliver a strong performance, he's this films only bright spot, and for most

of you - you're better off staying in the dark.

🐦KAMILEO WINDOW BIRD FEEDER (W/Suction Cups) 🍀 DUAL PERCH (Bird Watchers) REVIEW 👈 - Duration: 4:03.

hey guys so who doesn't love watching birds they're fascinating and beautiful

I have a new window bird feeder I'm going to try and I'm hoping I'll be able

to make the birds happy and add some beauty and entertainment to my home this

is the Kamileo window bird feeder it has a dual rubber perch a self-draining

removable tray right here and heavy-duty suction cups on the back now this

actually comes with four so obviously one if you lose it or

something you can really replace it it has a very clean simple design and it's

made of see-through acrylic there are three compartments to allow you to add

different types of seeds it has small drainage holes at the

bottom to help keep the seeds dry and fresh as you can see there are some

holes throughout the back there's about four lines of four on each of the side

ones right here it has a dual perch and there are two green rubber perches right

here and so birds can perch on to the top or on the tray so they recommend

that you mount high on Windows squirrels are a problem which they are here and

mapped it away from jumping off points for squirrels so I'm going to attach

this to window put some birdseed in and hope to attract some featherhead friends

I'm going to install it and show you what it looks like later

all right so I put the bird feeder outside if you can see I have only used

to suction cups instead of the three currently on my door which I chose this

place since I wanted to be able to see the birds from inside at my table but we

have mo Lian's and crosses on our doors so I put two so I could get around that

we're gonna see if it works and if it doesn't we have another place to put it

so I put some birdseed in

all right and there we go all right guys up this is an update it's day two since

we've had the bird feeder and even though we have only two suction cups on

it has stayed up it has helped and numerous amounts of birds that have come

by unfortunately they are camera shy they get a little scared when we come up

but there have been Cardinals red Robins Blue Jays they love it and it's so great

because it makes coming in and sitting down for breakfast so pretty and scenic

this is such a great bird feeder it provides birds with food nutrients and

provides us entertainment as well so we appreciate your likes and comments

please subscribe so you know when the next video is out make sure to follow us

on youtube reviews underscore CH he'll know when i next our next review is out

Jeep Wrangler Synergy Extended Front/Rear DOT Approved Brake Line Kit (2007-2018 JK) Review - Duration: 5:13.

These Synergy extended brake lines are for the front or rear of your 2007 and up JK,

whether it be a two-door or a four-door, with up to 4.5 inches of lift.

Adding a set of extended brake lines like this is always nice when you have lift on

your Jeep.

You don't have to worry about pulling a brake line taught or breaking one when you're off-road,

especially when you have those sway bars disconnected and you're articulating.

This is going to be something that's very easy to install, a one-out-of-three wrench

installation.

Of course, anytime you open up the braking system, you are gonna have to bleed it out,

which can take a little bit of time, depending on your method, but still very easy, and we'll

talk more about the installation in just a second.

So, even some of the higher-end lift kits that are available will require you to straighten

out the bends in your factory hard brake lines in the front of the Jeep in order to get a

little bit of extra length so you don't pull those lines taught.

I always prefer to purchase a longer set of soft brake lines, rather than pulling on and

bending those factory hard lines.

So, this is going to be something that is definitely on my build list every time I install

a lift kit.

Now, there are a lot of extended brake lines out there.

They're going to be varying lengths.

Of course, the longer ones are gonna be a little bit more expensive.

These ones are gonna be a little bit on the higher side of the price range, even for a

brake line of this length.

If you like Synergy, you like the brand, you trust them, you want something that is high-quality,

I would say, go with these ones.

If you're on a little bit more of a budget, there are some less expensive options out

there, as well, that are certainly going to get the job done.

So, of course, this is going to be a braided, stainless brake line.

It has a Kevlar coating that's going to help make sure that it's not going to rub through

or, of course, burst.

All of the hardware and the fittings that come on these brake lines are gonna be zinc

coated to resist any sort of rust and corrosion.

So, they have a lot of very nice features with them.

They also do come with all of the clips, like I said, and everything that you need to get

them installed.

So, it's a pretty nice set of brake lines.

A lot of people are gonna wanna go with a set of braided stainless lines because they've

read or heard that you're gonna get a nicer pedal feel from a line like this, because

with a rubber line, you get some expansion, which can give you a softer pedal.

And, oftentimes, after you install something like this, you will have a nicer pedal feel,

but a lot of that pedal feel is probably just going to come from the fact that you have

some fresh fluid in the system, you got any possible air out of the system while installing

these, and less about the fact that the stainless doesn't expand.

That very small amount of expansion and contraction that you get from a rubber line isn't really

going to translate that much into pedal feel, however, once you go and get these installed,

you have some fresh fluid, you are probably going to get a little bit of a stiffer pedal,

which is going to be sort of a fringe benefit to installing a new set of brake lines.

So, for the installation, again, very simple, one out of three wrenches.

You'll have to disconnect the old brake lines, both at the hard line up on the frame and

on the caliper itself.

Make sure that you get rid of all the washers.

There may be a washer that actually gets stuck onto the caliper.

You don't want to double up washers.

You can end up with a brake fluid leak.

So, make sure that that surface is nice and clean, and free of those old washers before

you install these new ones.

You'll go ahead and attach the brake line onto the caliper, and also onto the bracket

up on the frame using the new hardware that comes with this kit.

Now, you are gonna wanna pay attention to the way that these bend on those front brake

lines.

If you install them backward, they will hit on part of the axle when you turn all the

way to the lock.

So, just make sure that you take note of how the old ones were oriented and install the

new, longer ones in the same way.

Once the brake lines are fully installed, then it comes to bleeding, and there are a

couple different methods for bleeding.

You can either put pressure in from the top of the master cylinder to push any air out

the caliper side.

You could draw a vacuum on the caliper to pull fluid down, and of course, also pull

the air out.

Or, the tried and true two-person method of having somebody sitting in the vehicle pumping

it while another person is cracking the bleeder to let air and fluid out on the caliper side.

Whatever method you choose, you'll definitely need to bleed out the system, and if you're

just installing these on the front, I would still recommend bleeding all four corners.

You always want to start from the corner furthest from the master cylinder and work closer.

Even though you didn't open up the back of the system, you may have still gotten some

air in there.

Worst-case scenario, you get rid of some of that old fluid, especially that fluid right

near the caliper that's been heated and cooled, possibly boiled, maybe has absorbed some water.

It can't hurt to get some fresh fluid in the system.

So, these brake lines are gonna run you right around $100.

They are gonna be a little bit more expensive than some of the other ones out there.

Like I said before, Synergy has a great name.

They make a very high-quality product.

I have nothing bad to say about these brake lines.

If you are on a bit of a budget, there are some less expensive ones out there that are

still gonna get the job done, but if you're looking for something that is incredibly high-quality,

you like the Synergy name, you're okay paying a little bit of a premium for it, these ones

are a nice choice, as well.

So, if you're looking for a new, longer set of brake lines for your JK, I definitely recommend

taking a look at this set from Synergy, and you can find them right here at extremeterrain.com.

Review: Her Body and Other Parties - Duration: 4:21.

Is it recording?

-Yeah Okay

Hi there, this is Emily, also knows as The Literary Queen and I'm here to talk to you

about my favorite book of 2017, Her Body and Other Parties, by Carmen Maria Machado.

This book is fabulous.

First of all, it's a collection of linked short stories, actually I don't even know

if they're really linked, except for by the fact that they're fabulous, and also they're

slightly magical realistic at times, there's some science fiction thrown in there, there's

a ton of feminism, and a lot of them are very sexual which, you know, is always fun to read.

My favorite story would probably be the very first one in the collection which sorta sets

off the tone, it's called "The Husband Stitch" which, I'll let you look up what that actually

is, and it's a take on the horror story we all read as kids in that book with the scary

black and white pictures on the cover, Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark, about the guy

that goes on the date with the woman and she has a green ribbon around her neck and then

like, what do you think happens when you take off the green ribbon?

ERRR!

So, but this is a take on it about a women who gets married and her husband keeps wanting

to pull that ribbon.

And there's a whole other subtext.

There's also a really great story called inventory where you start off and you just think it's

this woman talking about all the people she's slept with, it's an inventory of them, but

then you slowly start to realize that like a pandemic of some sort has basically wiped

out the world and, um, people are dying, and so like, but it just slowly creeps in there

and the way it's passed on is through touch.

So if people could just themselves separate, they would, but you can't because you want

to like touch, and that's fabulous.

And then there's a really weird one-story in here, that a lot of my friends have disliked,

but I've really got into and it's called "Especially Heinous".

Especially Heinous 272 views of Law and Order SVU.

Now I love Law and Order: SVU, Olivia Benson, one love, so I was super into this.

And it's fascinating because it goes through, I don't know how many seasons, at least seven

I want to say, nope more than that because there's season ten here, and it takes the

names of each episode and then it comes up with like little synopsis that are not at

all what actually happens in the episode, even though they are the names of the episode,

because I've been re-watching it recently and I'm like, "That is an episode".

Um, and we get like, it gets sorta magical realism, like Benson starts seeing girls with

bells and then there's like she has a relationship with one of the district attourney-ADAs that

we all love and we know that it isn't really happening, but it like, it ends up being about

women and our bodies, and like what happens to them and all the sexual abuse, and how

that can get to you, and um, it's a really long story.

It is well over fifty pages, so, but and some people are like "Ugh, it gets a little weird",

but I actually kinda loved it.

Like, there was a period half way through where I went "Ugh, god"and then it just kept

going.

And then, so that would be another really good one in here.

I just really can't recommend this enough.

They're all really weird and I wouldn't give it to your uptight grandmother, but I would

definitely suggest you read this.

I will read you a section from "Inventory".

So, which is the collection about where the world's falling apart and she's talking about

the people she's slept with, and so, for example: One woman brunette, a former CDC employee.

I met her at a community meeting where they taught us how to stockpile food and manage

outbreaks in our neighborhood should the virus hop the fire break.

I had not slept with a woman since my wife but as she lifted her shirt, I realized how

much I had been craving breasts, wetness, soft mouths.

And it goes on from there.

So, again, risque but it's really about our need for physical contact.

And you can argue that all these stories actually are about our needs, about our physical needs.

By the way, I loved this collection.

I cannot recommend it enough and I highly recommend you check it out.

I think I've literally bought ten copies and given them away.

So please, give it a read: Her Body and Other Parties.

Thanks!

Goodbye, 2017 (BBTV's Year in Review Contest) - Duration: 4:31.

2017 was such a cool year. I grew so much as a person and even though I've never

done this before let's do a 2017 year-in-review

specifically for me and for my channel

I started high school this year that's not a big deal for most people but

considering how much it takes how much growth as a person it takes and how

different it is I am proud and we've started a new era and let's hope it's a

good one something huge that happened at the beginning of the year that will

affect me for ever is the fact that I lost around 60 pounds I looked like this

when I started losing weight and that was last year around Christmas time and

I just never stopped I built a habit I stuck to it and now I

look like this which hopefully looks better the biggest milestone I did on

YouTube this year which meant a lot to me is I collabed with my friend Tori you

probably saw that video it's pretty big on my channel and it's on her Channel

and because of that I reached 1,000 subscribers after that I reached 1500

subscribers recently and I'm so excited I love YouTube it makes no sense how

much I love YouTube but the creativity of YouTube the fun I have making YouTube

videos it's probably my favorite thing to do it's been a huge part of my life

and I love YouTube so much. This year you met my sister. That happened really

recently... yeah my sister's pretty cool

I'm an animal guy I have a lot of fish tanks; I did water changes on my fish

tanks- I did a hundred and four water changes to be exact on my fish tanks and

I changed two thousand three hundred ninety two gallons of water this year.

That's a lot of water.

I also realized that my bird is a boy this year that was... that

was... a shocker. I thought you were a girl didn't I. I thought you were a girl

and now I'm gushing all over 2017 arren't I. Yep.

My friend Chesh drew me from Australia-someone named Sophia's art studios drew me which is

now in my banner and someone with a user name I cannot pronounce drew me and

those things were like the highlights of my month because those were so cool I

discovered a ton of new music I like this year Sam Smith. P!NK. Taylor Swift.

Lauren Daigle and Hillsong United. As weird as my style in music is I learned of

so many new people this year and I listened to so many new albums that I

think contributed to me as a person that it's crazy. I love the music I've found

so much and I cannot wait for new music in 2018 and new things to see and

experience in 2018 because of music.

I just want to say that I love YouTube so much- I love every single interaction

I've had on YouTube and I love the experiences I've had on YouTube the

people I've met through YouTube the people I watch on YouTube who have no

idea who I am- so if you're any of those people if you're any of the people that

subscribe to me or comment or just spend any time of your day spending time with

me I appreciate you so much I'm so excited to do it again next year and

And let's have a great 2018 together.

This is me signing off for the year of 2017.

It's been a pretty good year.
