This is great. You were like two and
a half hours, I'm like "What, it'll take like 10 minutes!"
Now I see what you're talking about.
I'm Dana Milbank.
A columnist with The Washington Post,
as you can see.
It is a beautiful sunny day
in the capitol.
And I am here for you to rain on my parade.
Well,
I am chagrined to hear this
and I resent that you are saying
that I am repeating the same [Bleep] day after day.
I think it would be more accurate to say
I make up new [Bleep] every day.
We made it past security,
more "Hate Mail" now.
"Biznesazusual:"
That's why I'm in journalism.
"...does this sort of thing better."
I have not seen Alexandra Petri's "Hate Mail" video.
But I do not believe she had as many locations in hers
as I do in mine.
"LookOutside" says,
I have heard this,
that there are indeed a lot of people out there
who believe what I wrote.
That "Bernie Bernstein" and "Woody Woodward"
have, for many decades,
been working in a basement of The Washington Post.
And I feel that if we have reached such a point
where that is possible, then all is already lost.

James O'Keefe BUSTED Trying To Set Up Fake Sting Against Washington Post - Duration: 4:06.
On Monday evening, a bombshell report came out in the Washington Post where they actually
uncovered a sting operation set up by James O'Keefe and his Project Veritas that was meant
to undermine all of the people who have accused Alabama Senate candidate, Roy Moore, of sexual
assault.
Here's what happened.
The Washington Post received an email from a woman who said that when she was a teenager
she had sex with Roy Moore.
They had a secret forbidden love and then she got pregnant.
Roy Moore told her to have an abortion, took her to Mississippi himself to have that abortion,
and then he just kind of left her by the wayside, moved on with his life.
This was shortly after he won his first judgeship.
But, unfortunately, this woman was not who she claimed to be.
She was not a former teenage lover of Roy Moore.
She was in fact somebody working with Project Veritas, James O'Keefe's organization, that
has been known to doctor footage of interviews and conversations in order to make the left
look bad, and that is exactly what they were trying to do.
The woman who claimed that she had sex with Roy Moore set up an interview with a Washington
Post reporter in a restaurant on multiple occasions.
They're pretty sure it was being filmed.
In fact, Veritas has actually released film of it, so they know they were being filmed,
but the Washington Post decided to film it as well because they just didn't think something
felt right about this.
You know why the Washington Post had a bad feeling about it?
Because they actually did their job.
They looked this woman up online and they found a trail that led directly back to Project
Veritas including a GoFundMe account set up by this woman who said she wanted to relocate
to New York to go work with the conservative media to take down the lying left.
But that's all just a small part of this story.
What's important here, the big take-away, is that James O'Keefe, this little sack of
crap running around thinking he's some kind of journalist or documentarian when really
he's just a waste of human skin, he set up the Washington Post or attempted to ... They
busted him on it, wanted to set them up with a phony person just so that they can get the
Washington Post on tape admitting that they were trying to take down Roy Moore, and, more
importantly, to undermine every single woman that has come forth and said that Roy Moore
sexually assaulted or sexually harassed them when they were teenagers.
That's what this is about, undermining the victims of sexual crimes here.
That is okay with James O'Keefe.
He has no problem with that.
That's okay with the Republican Party because the tape that Project Veritas has even released
of this is making the rounds in conservative media, and those idiots actually believe it.
We have to do better than this.
A guy like James O'Keefe should be behind bars.
I'm not just saying that because of this incident.
I'm saying it because of all the crimes he's committed over the years, doctoring footage,
creating the entire Planned Parenthood phony controversy based on nothing.
Same thing with Acorn.
This man is a danger to the United States and does not belong in the United States.
We need to find another country to ship him to, so he can go live out the rest of his
years perhaps living in a country that doesn't have the kinds of freedoms and benefits that
the United States have because that's what this man deserves.
He is a cancer on this country, and this Washington Post sting that he set up proves that beyond
a reasonable doubt.
He would rather stick up for a pedophile than admit that there is at least one bad Republican
in this country.
That is a kind of tribalism that has to be stamped out in
the United States.

Huge "Washington Post Exposed" Failure, Why 150,000 Videos Were Just Deleted, and More... - Duration: 15:12.
Beautiful bastards
Hope even a fantastic Tuesday welcome back to the Philip DeFranco show and let's just jump into it and the first thing
I want to talk about today is this insanity between project Veritas and The Washington Post yesterday The Washington Post published an article
Titled a woman approached the post with dramatic and false tale about Roy Moore she appears to be part of undercover sting operation
As we've talked about on the show before
Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore is been accused of sexual misconduct with women as young as 14 years old now Moore is repeatedly denied those
Accusations calling them an attempt to derail his campaign and as right now
He's still staying in this race despite both Democrats and Republicans
Calling for him to step down then in walks in a story worse than all of those before woman by the name Jamie T Phillips
Comes forward to the Washington Post with an accusation that she had a sexual relationship with Moore when she was 15 and according to her
That relationship resulted in a pregnancy and an abortion also before moving forward when I say this story was worse than those that came before
I mean by that is worse for more based on who's voting for it because despite
Accusations from women who were 14 and 16 years old at the time that that more?
Sexually touched them also in one instance he allegedly jammed one of their heads into his crotch that no one will believe you spite that
Roy Moore still has a lead over his opponent one of the things we keep hearing more and more from people saying they're still going
To be voting for more despite all the stuff that's coming out against him is that his opponent Doug Jones is pro-choice
Whereas Moore is not so the justification I've seen for more voters online is that they're just choosing the lesser of two evils so back
to this story The Washington Post interviews Jamie Phillips for two weeks during those interviews reporters found
inconsistencies and her stories that made them suspicious reporters also found it odd that she'd repeatedly asked them to guarantee that her coming forward with
This story would have an effect on Moores candidacy, and it gets really interesting when one reporter confronts her about the inconsistencies
I'll link to the full video down below, but just to save some time
She says it she she applied for The Daily Caller that job fell through the reporter moves on to what job she has currently also
you know frankly want to know if your
Who you might be working for now? I?
Work, I still do morning work well
It's a little bit of an issue there
And you know I just want to ask you to explain it because when we called the company that you said that you worked for
They said they didn't have that you didn't work there. You still have an interest and and
Working in the conservative media movement to combat the lies and deceit of the liberal MSM is
That is that still your interest no
Yeah
No, so if you're not working for that mortgage company. Where are you working? I?
Don't work for one of those
And what's the franchise it's a you said a friend
afraid yeah a brand
Maverick, and where is that?
And it was out of Italy and just in general. This is my opinion here
It appears that her whole story's waffling tries to save her story
But it seems like nothing's adding up so of course the question becomes okay
well
So if she didn't get that job with the Daily Caller like she says under GoFundMe page where she said she accepted a job for
A conservative media site specifically a conservative media site to combat the lies and deceit of the liberal MSM who was she referring to well
on Monday morning
Washington Post reporters saw Phillips walking into the New York offices of Project Veritas now if you're not familiar Project Veritas is an organization of
targets mainstream news outlets to expose what they claim to be media bias
We've talked about them on the show before they posted those those
nothing burger videos of videos about CNN videos about the New York Times
YouTube on a personal note for transparency sake when I see stuff from Project Veritas
I am very very skeptical of the way the editing is done on most of the videos
I've ever seen seems
incredibly misleading back to the story Project Veritas founder James O'Keefe decline to answer questions about Phillips that morning and when reporters followed up with
Him later that I am NOT doing the interview right now just
Now because the Washington Post was convinced that Phillips as part of a sting operation they decide to publish all of their
interactions with her face including the video of their confrontation and any previously off-the-record conversation
Executive editor Martin Barron saying we always honor off-the-record agreements when they're entered into good faith
But this so-called off-the-record conversation
Was the essence of a scheme to deceive and embarrass us the intent by Project Veritas clearly was to publicize the?
Conversation if we fell for the trap because of our customary journalistic rigor we weren't fooled we can't honor an off-the-record
Agreement that was solicited and maliciously bad faith
Then we see James O'Keefe tweet out a clip from that second interview and in it he's the one grilling the reporter with questions he
Tweets it out with the caption the Washington Post sends a reporter to question me
But take a look who was interviewing who in the video O'Keefe
Just seems like this journalistic badass, Washington Post came to ask him questions
But when he started asking the Washington Post questions
They ran away then the Washington Post responds with the full
Version of their interview and it paints a completely different picture one could very easily
Argue that it paints
Reality because it doesn't cut out a huge chunk of the interview what we see in the footage of James O'Keefe and Project Veritas edited
Out was the Washington Post asking questions getting zero answers from O'Keefe who decided that his only response would be to ask
Questions back it ultimately brings us to this point in the interview. Those are my questions, and I'd like
All right, well, I've got some questions, and if you're not gonna answer any of my questions and just ask me back questions
I'm gonna consider this interview to be over because I didn't come here to answer questions. I came here to ask the questions
okay, I
Approached you this morning to ask you a question you said come back make an appointment I came back and made an appointment
So it's my turn to ask a question and your turn to answer does Jamie Phillips work for you, sir. Here's what's happening
Veritas has an investigation that we're about to lick release. We've got some comments there by some of your staff I
Do you want me to talk I want you to answer one of my questions is Jamie Phillips work for Project Veritas?
Did you send her to approach the Washington Post under a false name and with a fake story?
If you're not gonna answer that question or not talk about one of your I'm discipline all right here to your quarters
Thank you, so it becomes clear that despite having this scheduled second interview
O'Keefe's not gonna answer any questions the guy from The Washington Post realizes okay, O'Keefe's not gonna answer any of my questions
It's time to leave and that's where we get the project Veritas video, which makes it look like The Washington Post is running away
So we have that complete misrepresentation from Project Veritas and Project Veritas posts another video this one
They say exposing the post bias agenda and in the video they talk to national security reporter Dan lamothe they also talked to Joey
Marburger the Washington Post director of product in the beginning of the video O'Keefe tries to paint this picture that the Washington Post is scared
About what he has on them, so that's why they're doing the story about an imagined sting American problem
Washington Post edition today the Washington Post is floundering
They're spending a ton of time and money trying to turn the tables on project Veritas talking about an imagined sting
What are they so afraid? What are they so afraid of what are they guarding against?
Well it turns out Project Veritas has done an undercover investigation into the Washington Post
The model of the Washington Post is democracy dies in darkness we think democracy dies
When the media has a very biased agenda they don't reveal to the public if you actually watch the video
And you're not just listening to what O'Keefe is saying is happening in the video nothing really transpires and says this in the video
Here's the thing you know there's like being there's the new side. That's just trying to
critically think
And then there's like the other side of it like the opinion
Hopefully, what was just said was news to nobody the news side the reporting side is calling bullshit on when there's bullshit giving Trump credit
When there's credit and then an editorial the opinion section they rip into Trump, right?
hopefully everyone knows that there is a difference between a
Regular news story and an op-ed the thing that's frustrating is there still gonna be enough people that go Oh ed Ettore all those are
The editors that are screwing over the people just trying to do news
No
Editorials are just the opinion section so the post editorial section
Opposes Trump news to nobody. There's also a part that talks about how Trump is good for business once again
That should be news to nobody. There's a reason why Stephen Colbert is now the king of late-night
He beats on Trump every single day being the opposition has always been good for business
I mean if you look at the blaze Rush
Limbaugh
Infowars all of these places
Thrive during an Obama administration now also lucky for them during this time you have a president that wasn't elected by popular vote
it's a very polarizing president a president that is that is contested by the
By many in the public so they still get to thrive on being the opposition now
They're just the opposition to the other guys the media and a big thing
I want to hit on here is I'm all about exposing fucked up things in mainstream media
I'm all about trying to knock down someone trying to mislead the public
There's also incredibly important to look at these independent outlets including project Veritas and see if they are mislead because they and myself
Included benefit anytime people don't trust mainstream media
and they want to support an independent outlet when you lie or misrepresent a
situation to get that support you are part of the problem at the end of the day, what the
Situation looks like is we have Project Veritas James O'Keefe either hiring or working with a woman to knowingly
Lie to the Washington Post about a sexual assault which by the way all that does is
Hurt other actual assault victim, and then they put out these videos
Misrepresenting what happened as a way to deflect from the main store James O'Keefe
I look through your comment section the people that support you will continue to support you many continue to eating it up as expected maybe
You lose a few stragglers here and there that actually care about seeing the truth the other side of the store for everyone else all
you did was make the Washington Post look like a
Fantastic establishment, it looks like someone tried to lie to the Washington Post to prove that just the media
They're just they're out against more. They're out against Trump. They will post anything and in this instance
They were proved to be 100% wrong so congratulations on that but from

Let's talk about Olivia budget Olivia is a fitness blogger out of Australia
And she has recently come under fire for a post where she wrote
Cancer and disease is your body trying to save you allow me to possibly
Challenge your belief about cancer and other diseases
What if these conditions were not actually bad at all what if they were created by the body to help save you what if disease?
Is your body's survival mechanism being open minded and changing your perspective around?
What disease actually is and why it's happening will allow you to take back control of your health and realize that your body is
Always working for you, and never against you adding in this modern day
We are consumed by the medical industries information
Which leads us to believe that disease happens to us through genetic
Disposition the disease is a natural defense mechanism to prevent a much more serious situation from occur, Olivia
What is a much more serious situation?
Than cancer only escalation from having cancer seems to be dying from said cancer
Let me say this loud and proud for the people in the back do not take medical advice from
random people on the internet
I don't care if it's some blonde woman drinking green juice saying that she's a fitness blogger that does not make her qualify to
Question what we understand about cancers?
And I personally get frustrated when I see Olivia because it reminds me of Belle Gibson Gibson you might remember was the Australian fitness
Who faked having brain cancer he then claimed her natural diet cured her brain cancer?
She sold she sold a book and I got exposed for lying the government cracked down on her, but when I looked to Olivia
I'm not saying she did. What was as bad as Bell gets it just all comes off as batshit crazy
I'm not saying Olivia is evil. I'll even give Olivia the benefit of the doubt let's say she has the best intention
She shouldn't just be throwing out things that you can't confirm
No, Olivia's remove the post because there's a lot of backlash. It said I do want to share my favorite comment
I saw in response to this one wrote I would discuss this with my brother, but his healthy body saving leukemia killed him
That's that's funny
Heartbreaking and also shows the exact problem with what Olivia is talking about here
I also understand that most likely olivia is going to keep feeding the Internet stuff like this so another post where she's holding of course
A green juice and has the caption there is only one disease adding
There are over 30,000 names to label different diseases in the world what if I told you there was actually only one disease, okay?
Olivia here one. No, and two why do you start all your captions like your Morpheus
What if I told you what if I told you you should you should go to a doctor?
And not listen to random people on the internet whatever it's the internet
I can't stop stupid from breda Internet has allowed us to accomplish so many things that has changed our
lives in so many ways
But it's also allowed for this orgy of
Stupid to take place anyway moving on Dan a quick update to the YouTube ad pocalypse story we talked about yesterday
This latest iteration of the apocalypse being around child exploitation
Completely inappropriate sexual or violent videos being fed to children also a lot of these videos exposing that there was a huge child predator problem
On the site yesterday
I said that I thought YouTube was willing to be very aggressive about it
And holy hell they are it's being reported that YouTube deleted
150 thousand videos that became targets for comments by child predators YouTube also saying they deleted
270 accounts turned off comments on
625,000 videos YouTube, also said they removed ads from around 2 million other videos and fifty thousand channels when I hear those numbers
I think a few things the first being most likely they didn't find all the videos and this is going to be a consistent
Problem moving forward the people that were making these horrible videos they were profiting off of it most likely they will try to adapt
They'll continue to try and find ways to beat YouTube at their own game also when you hear
150,000 videos have been deleted most likely that there were some probably okay videos deleted in the midst of that
But also when you have numbers at large
It makes you think of the the biggest criticism of YouTube so far and that's how did they not notice this was a problem before
They is a company did they have that much blind faith that the algorithm was going to do its job and filter out the content
For the kids or do they just kind of turn a blind eye think of this as just a small
Minimal nothing problem because they didn't want to rock the boat and hurt ad revenue
Or I want to end this story because it's still developing we have to we have to see how successful
YouTube is moving forward. I want to end the story is YouTube's reaction to this isn't going to be perfect
There is still going to be offending
content on the site once again what I would ask is to the parents out there that give their kid a
tablet a phone
Just check in look at what kind of content your kids consuming if you if it ends up being one of the messed up pieces
Of content don't just post something and be outraged online make sure that you flag that content and an ideal world you're flagging one
It'll handle that situation there, but it also helps speed the algorithm so it knows
What kind of content to watch for in the future?
That's what I'm going to end today's show remember if you liked this video you like what I trying to do on the channel you
Want to support independent media go to DeFranco elite com sign up become a member poram mega now and building for tomorrow
also
If you miss and want to catch up on yesterday's philip defranco show click or tap right there to watch that oh if you want
To take a probably embarrassing dive into the past here's here's a playlist for what happened today
Button years past with that said of course as always my name's philip defranco. You've just been phill'd in I
Love yo faces, and i'll see you tomorrow

Attempt to lure Washington Post into reporting a false story underlines media distrust - Duration: 8:52.
JUDY WOODRUFF: But first: In two weeks, Alabama voters head to the polls to pick their next
U.S. senator in a campaign rocked by allegations of sex abuse and counteraccusations of a media
witch-hunt.
Now a foiled sting operation is bring the divide between journalism and political activism
to the forefront.
The story broke last night.
The Washington Post says it was targeted by a conservative group.
According to The Post, a woman came forward claiming that Alabama's Republican Senate
candidate Roy Moore got her pregnant when she was a teenager.
She identified herself as Jaime Phillips, seen on the right in this video recorded by
The Post.
STEPHANIE MCCRUMMEN, The Washington Post: I want you to know this is being recorded.
JUDY WOODRUFF: But reporter Stephanie McCrummen and others found inconsistencies in her claims.
They also asked about an online comment of hers that suggested she's working with a group
that goes after mainstream media, or MSM.
STEPHANIE MCCRUMMEN: Do you still have an interest in working in the conservative media
movement to combat the lies and deceit of the liberal MSM?
Is that still your interest?
WOMAN: No, no, not really, not at this point.
STEPHANIE MCCRUMMEN: Yes.
JUDY WOODRUFF: The Post decided not to publish the story, and Monday morning, reporters spotted
Phillips walking into the New York City offices of Project Veritas.
The group is run by longtime activist James O'Keefe and has a history of targeting the
news media and Democratic organizations using undercover video.
Meanwhile, Roy Moore himself took aim at the media last night.
He faces multiple claims of approaching or molesting teenage girls, but he's denied any
wrongdoing.
ROY MOORE (R), Alabama Senatorial Candidate: They're trying to hide the true issues.
It's no different than when The Washington Post brought out the Russian investigation
at a time when President Trump is trying to get his agenda passed.
JUDY WOODRUFF: Outside the venue, several Moore campaign staffers scuffled with a FOX
News camera crew.
Meanwhile, on Twitter yesterday, President Trump called for a contest.
He said it would decide -- quote -- "which of the networks, plus CNN and not including
FOX, is the most dishonest, corrupt and/or distorted in its political coverage."
The winner, said Mr. Trump, will receive the fake news trophy.
For a closer look at all the , we're joined by Margaret Sullivan, media columnist at The
Washington Post, and Michelle Holmes.
She's vice president of content at the Alabama Media Group, which publishes the state's three
largest newspapers.
Welcome to both of you.
Margaret Sullivan, to you first.
What tipped off The Post reporters that what this woman, Jamie Phillips, was saying to
them wasn't true?
MARGARET SULLIVAN, The Washington Post: Judy, The Post was doing what good reporters always
do, which, as you know, which is to do a background check and to find out as much as possible
about someone before going with their story.
So they were doing fairly standard kind of background check, and one of the things that
they turned up -- I mean, there were a number of red flags, but probably the most obvious
one was that they found a GoFundMe page on the Internet that seemed to suggest that Jamie
Phillips had gone to work or was going to work for an organization that would set out
to discredit establishment media.
So this was something that certainly caught The Post's eye.
JUDY WOODRUFF: And to you, Michelle Holmes, what has been the reaction there in Alabama
to The Post exposing this attempt at a sting?
MICHELLE HOLMES, Alabama Media Group: Certainly, we in our newsroom are incredibly grateful
and proud of the work that The Washington Post is doing.
I think it certainly makes a mark for excellent journalism everywhere and lifts us all.
I think across Alabama, I certainly hope this sends a message of the kind of dirty and underhanded
tactics that people are doing and attempting to discredit the media at this really critical
time.
JUDY WOODRUFF: Margaret Sullivan, when you couple this with what we have seen as President
Trump's repeated attempts to criticize, discredit the news media through the campaign, through
his presidency, to make the press essentially look dishonest, what effect do you think that
has on the American people?
MARGARET SULLIVAN: Well, Judy, for some people, of course, it only makes their resolve greater
that they want to understand what is true and follow reputable news sources.
But I think for a number of other people, it does cast doubt.
You know, it creates confusion.
Who is telling the truth?
Should we really mistrust the news media as much as the president says or even half as
much as he says?
So it creates an atmosphere in which truth is muddied.
You don't really know who to trust, and some people throw up their hands and say, well,
I'm going to tune out.
I don't know exactly who is right or who is wrong.
It's all a big mess.
And I think that's very dangerous.
JUDY WOODRUFF: Michelle Holmes, all of this is obviously subjective.
I'm asking the two of you to estimate, to give us your judgment of how the public is
reacting, but what do you find in Alabama about trust of the media?
Your own news organization editorialized against Roy Moore.
Are people still able to trust the reporting that your organization does, do you think?
MICHELLE HOLMES: We have had really strong response thanking us for the work that we
have been doing.
And I do think people in Alabama are intelligent and are able to distinguish an institutional
editorial voice from the kind of day-to-day hard reporting that our staff is doing.
Look, our team of reporters are primarily people who were born and raised in Alabama.
They're the neighbors of all of our news consumers.
And I think many people see through the tactics of fake news.
Certainly, you know, the president's push has played a really disturbing role, however,
and we feel that ripple, too.
But I think, in Alabama, the work that we're doing is being seen for what it is, trying
to call out truths in a really important time in Alabama politics and American politics.
JUDY WOODRUFF: Margaret Sullivan, how do you measure this erosion of trust on the part
of news consumers?
MARGARET SULLIVAN: Well, of course, you can look at the public opinion polls, and the
numbers are discouraging there.
But we also know that trust in institutions in general is way down.
I have been trying to get out and talk to ordinary voters for months now, and, actually,
I don't find that kind of virulent dislike and mistrust that we see in the polls when
I talk to regular people, including a lot of Trump voters.
So I think it's a question of, is it the media, and who knows what that means, or is it the
media that I follow, which I actually think most people feel pretty good about?
JUDY WOODRUFF: And, Margaret Sullivan, how do you see the role of the press in addressing
this increasingly distrustful, at least in some quarters, increasingly distrustful and
sometimes outright hostile attitude toward the media, the news media?
MARGARET SULLIVAN: Judy, I think, for the most part, we have to do our jobs as best
we can, and we also have to be as transparent as we can with our readers or viewers, news
consumers, about how we this our work.
For example, in The Post's original story about Roy Moore, there was a paragraph that
was very clear about how the women had not approached The Post.
The Post idea had actually found these women and encouraged and convinced them to come
forward.
And I think that helps people understand sort of how the sausage is made.
And the more we can be transparent, I think the more trust we can engender.
JUDY WOODRUFF: Well, some certainly remarkable reporting done by The Washington Post and
commendable reporting certainly done by the Alabama Media Group.
I want to thank both of you, Michelle Holmes joining us from Alabama, Margaret Sullivan
at The Post.
Thank you both.
MICHELLE HOLMES: Thank you.
