Several schools in Tîrgu Mureş have classes specializing in tourism and gastronomy.
Periodically, the students of these schools come to us in practice, but without any subsequent commitment, only to understand what it means to work in the hotel business.
They are the potential employees in the future. We make sure that they know us, and that we can be one of their options in the future.
But, we are doing something more concrete in this direction, namely, we have a collaboration agreement with the American Hotel Academy in Braşov,
where we had two students hired last year, one on the FnB and the other on the Rooms Division.
They were hired full-time for the holiday and they did a good job.
Because we really enjoyed this collaboration,
we expanded it for this year and we will have 6 students in practice
on different departments including cross training and top management.
The selection criteria for practice are the same as those of employment.
First of all there has to be a person who wants to be here. It is 90% of the condition of success, to want to be here.
Students, who come to work with us, are chosen in collaboration with the teachers in charge of school practice.
For students at the American Hotel Academy, there is a hotel presentation, followed by an interview, which chooses those who will benefit from this internship.
Benefits are multiple, not necessarily immediately quantifiable.
The immediate benefit is that of hiring a person who performs qualified work that you pay for.
But it is important to ensure your future
by presenting hotel business opportunities to high-school students and students in their first years of universitary studies.
Ensuring your future is very important.
I remember my first experiences in the restaurant
where I saw the discipline, the order, the dance without music where everybody was doing everything perfectly,
and the result was a great thing.
This has fascinated me and I think that without this experience, just from books,
even if I had extraordinarily good teachers,
I do not think you understand what these services mean.
In the case of students enrolled in a training period, learning basic notions lasts for at least three months,
regardless of place of practice, front desk agent, server, assistant cook or anything else.
