4 SIMPLE TIPS TO ATTRACT LUCK | 3 MINUTES WISDOM | HINDI - Duration: 3:27.
Hello Friends , Welcome again to three minutes wisdom.
Today I am going to discuss with you certain rules, which can help you become extremely lucky
You will be surprised to know that a renowned psychologist from England Dr. Richard Wiseman
researched for 8 years and discovered why certain people are extremely lucky or unlucky.
He found out that we can also attract good luck in our life if we can apply certain principles.
1st Principle he explained is that lucky people are more extroverts
They have more friends and they enjoy meeting people.
They smile twice as much as unlucky people.
It means you need to smile as much as possible if you want to attract good luck.
Dr Wiseman has explained in his another book 'The As If Principle"
That you don't smile because you are happy intact you are happy because you smile.
2nd Principle
Lucky people are open to new experiences in their lives. They love trying new experiences.
New kind of foods and new way of doing things.
3rd Principle
lucky people make successful decisions by using their intuition and gut feeling.
They regularly do meditation to boost their intuition.
It only means that you need to do meditation regularly if you want to be lucky.
4th and the most important principle.
Is to have the best expectations for your future
Dr Wiseman explains that having extreme positive expectation
for your future is necessary for being lucky.
Researchers in Finland classified more than 2000 men into three groups.
A negative group who expected the future to be bleak
a 'positive' group who had much higher expectations about their future
Third group was neutral group whose expectations were neither positive nor negative.
They monitored the groups over a six year period and found that
The men in the negative group were far more likely to die from cancer, cardiovascular diseases and accidents
than those in the neutral group
In contrast those in the positive group exhibited a far lower mortality rate than those in both the negative and neutral group.
This experiment is enough to open your eyes that how much it is important to have positive expectations
for your future to live a life full of hope and happiness.
I hope you will incorporate these 4 principles in your life to change it positively.
Thank you

Simple Shading with Prismacolor Pencils - Altenew Release & Giveaway! - Duration: 6:32.
Hi it's Therese and I'm here with card that I'm gonna make for an Altenew
release today and I'm using a little stamp set I thought it'd be fun just to
see what I could do with this stamp set and the new inks, have you heard that
they've got new inks? I'm sure you have if you're hopping along because this is
actually a giveaway post but anyway I'll get more to that in a minute what I
decided to do was actually do one of my favorite techniques this is a solid
base stamp and I don't do this technique very often but I just love the look of
it so stamp out a solid base stamp especially a flower and use my
prismacolor pencils to add shading and depth so it's really easy technique to
do I'll walk you through it and with this stamp it's perfect oh and there's
matching dies so the inks I've used today they're all from the new sets they're
called the pink one was called pink pearl I'm still getting used to the
names pink pearl and this dark red here is called heart beat the green that I
used was called minty mint so really fun names and beautiful inks like this these
pink colors are almost.... even though they're called pinks they're actually
more peachy in the peachy tone so really pretty so what I've done is I've stamped
the solid image in the pink pearl color and now I've chosen it doesn't
matter what color you color it in you can color them whatever color you want
you can actually mix up the colors too to add different levels of shading but
for today's card I decided to use very similar shades so I've chosen two
prismacolor pencils that are very they're from the same color family as
the look of the pink pearl ink so a darker color and a medium color that's
almost the same as the ink colour, if that makes sense. so
what I'm doing is I'm adding a small amount of the darker color pencil I've
got them nice and sharp and I've used my tgaal sharpener
ever since I've got that I haven't had a problem with any LEDs breaking and that
includes leads on pencils that are half sharpened down because they've broken so
much I've come along with the and it's about TGAAL sharp now I've come
along with that on these broken pencils and it's worked it's amazing ok so at
the dark color and then shade out with the lighter color like I was thing the
thing that I don't like to do is actually come in and blend it with my
gamsol or odorless white mineral spirit I find that the I like the look of the
pencil on these and it and the wax pencil because it's such a soft lead it
actually blends itself out so if I've added the dark color and there are sort
of a few little lines that I'm not happy with by coming in and adding the color
that's nearly the same as the ink underneath it actually blends it out so
you can barely see those lines and I am using it's hard to tell in the video but
I am using a really light touch so these minty mint leaves I did I did actually
um come in only with one color pencil because I knew these are more of a
background feature they're not something that's a real it's just sort of like
filler, they are a filler leaf so I didn't worry too much about
shading those because you are only going to see the tips of them anyway the
sentiment today's come from one of the other new release sets which is called
crafty life and it does come with a couple of coordinating dies and I've
used my permanent black ink to stamp that out and
in the with sympathy floral set this mini stamp set that I've used for
the flowers and the leaves I did actually do about four leaves I think
in total, it has a coordinating die set as well I know a little mini set with a
coordinating die set isn't that cool so anyway I cut all of those out and I
didn't bother to actually shade my dark red flower because I wanted it to be
like a bold statement I know, very trendy! anyway
so I'm going to put my card together now I've got a top fold card
it's a white card base I've added a panel of spicy yogurt card stock that
I've popped up on some foam foam and now I'm just going to put my little bouquet
together I am using my tape runner and I'm using some foam dots so it's a
really simple card I just wanted to show you this really quick technique with
this beautiful new flower stamp from Altenew so don't forget that this is
part of a release hop and there's heaps of inspirational along the way so if
you're head through the link in my youtube description below and you're
here and it's February 2018 you might be in with a chance to win some goodies it
all new so I would do that because I've got all the other blogs and everything
linked through there and it's highly recommended by me
alright so till next time happy papercrafting bye bye

What is Bitcoin? | SIMPLE OVERVIEW - Duration: 6:30.
Welcome to I Am Your Target Demographic and today I'm going to try to explain something
that's a little confusing and something I'm not an expert in, so check out the comments
for any clarification or errors.
I'll try my best.
The idea of cryptocurrency has been around since the 1980s, a way to spend and earn money
without a central bank and available worldwide.
We're going to talk mostly about bitcoin today but there are 100s, maybe even 1000s,
of different brands of cryptocurrency that are more or less similar.
Bitcoin as a brand was started in 2009 by an online personality called Satoshi Nakamoto,
which is a pseudonym for either one mystery person or a group of users, to this day no one knows.
This user created a decentralized process for transferring money,
without any bank or central system.
You can purchase bitcoin with any currency and then you have total freedom how to use it.
When you pay for a service or pay a person, your transaction is logged into a public ledger,
something available to the world to see.
There are people who are constantly validating these transactions, making sure that the users
have the funds available and making sure that the transaction was approved by the sender.
This is a very complicated process and one that can make your head spin if you go too
far into it, but I'll try to explain it simply.
Again, there is no bank covering these transactions, so it's all up to the individuals to track
their payments on this ledger.
But anyone can edit this public ledger, so you have to be careful or someone could just
say "So and so pays me $200."
To make sure that doesn't happen, layers upon layers of security have been built and
are maintained by people called miners, who work tirelessly to validate the security layers
in place and validate the transactions.
Each transaction has a public key and a private key, which is recommended to be different
for different transactions.
Only the person who knows the private key can authorize payments, so no one else can
claim to be them.
It's almost like an electronic signature of sorts.
Each transaction also has an identifier, meaning you can't copy the message multiple times
and hope to get multiple payments.
If I authorize a payment, it's only good for that transaction.
If you lose this private key, it won't allow anyone to access the funds and they're essentially lost.
One user lost over $7 million dollars because of a lost key.
This system is also fairly anonymous, in the way that you have a bitcoin address but it's
not necessarily tied to your real name.
They can track payments, which means it's technically not anonymous but more pseudonymous,
meaning people can track the account but not necessarily who it belongs to.
More and more bitcoin systems are starting to actually require real-life identification,
due to high usage of bitcoin in illegal activities.
Now, this sounds complicated, but apps and programs have hidden a lot of this behind
an easy-to-use interface that manages all these keys for you.
Just like how you don't necessarily need to understand routing numbers and your bank's
process to handle transactions, it all just seamlessly works.
Now earlier I mentioned miners, people who work to validate and authenticate these transactions.
These people aren't literally looking at transactions and saying yes or no, but they're
completing complicated math problems that help to verify transactions and make them secure.
Again, way above my head.
These miners, in exchange for their work, get rewarded with new bitcoins that are created,
so there's a financial incentive.
Now, this became extremely popular so more people started doing it.
They started creating computers specifically built to run these programs quickly, and individuals
even started to come together into "pools" in which they could work as a team and get
more rewards, to help compete with tech-heavy businesses that might be mining at a higher
rate than one individual could compete against.
Before you dive into wanting to become a miner, it can cost thousands of dollars to buy or
build a computer that can do this efficiently and because there are so many miners now,
you'll be lucky to break even if you're just starting.
Now people are buying bitcoins like crazy lately and that means the worth of each bitcoin went up.
In 2017, an upward spike propelled each bitcoin from about a thousand US dollars each to now
over 13,000 US dollars each.
This means people that earned early bitcoins have made some incredible money just by watching
these prices skyrocket.
It's since dropped again quite significantly, so the ups and downs of this currency can be turbulent.
So what are the other downsides of bitcoin?
Well, I already discussed it's hard to make money mining and buying a bitcoin now would
be extremely expensive.
Sometimes people also perceive this money as "off the grid" but it's actually
money that you need to claim on your taxes and failing to do so might actually get people
charged with tax evasion.
Bitcoin has also been used on the "dark web" for a lot of illegal activities because
people think it's truly anonymous but the FBI has targeted bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies
and is watching closely for opportunities to pinpoint an identity for some of these users.
And now let's think about what businesses actually accept bitcoin…
Is it possible to use this only?
A lot of them do, sure, but it's becoming tricky.
In some US states, the fee to accept bitcoins is over $5,000 and is a lengthy contract,
which may not be worth the time.
There's also the problem of no insurance or guarantees on these purchases.
With a middle-man like a bank, they might help refund any money that you've lost or
has been stolen.
With bitcoin, if you purchase something and the seller doesn't deliver, even if it's
malicious, there is no one to help you and the payment cannot be reversed.
Also like I mentioned earlier, a technical malfunction and the loss of your private keys
can result in money disappearing in an instant.
So there are a lot of ups and downs.
For early adopters of bitcoin, this past year has been a wild ride, but newcomers to bitcoin
may be risking a lot, especially if they don't understand all the systems at play.
Do you think this model of verified public ledgers is sustainable?
Does bitcoin have a future?
Or is it a fad?
Sound off in the comments and thanks for watching!

What to Say When You Feel Stuck in English - 3 Simple Strategies - Duration: 13:34.
Hi I'm Anne Marie with Speak Confident English and welcome to your weekly
Confident English lesson where we focus on the skills and the language that you
need to say what you want in English. This week we're focused on those
situations when hmm those situations when you get stuck. Those moments when
you get stuck, when you freeze, when you lose the words that you want to say, when
you don't feel confident about what to say next or you can't find the right
word the right expression or the right grammar, you're searching in your mind
and you just say nothing because you don't know what to say. When it comes to
feeling stuck or searching for the right word in English I have bad news and good
news. The bad news is these situations will always happen and yes
they suck they are awful. The good news is these situations happen to native
speakers too and that means that we have several strategies and things that we
can say in those moments to help us. When you know the right thing to do and the
right thing to say in those moments it can help remove the stress, the
frustration, and the fear and more importantly you can continue to
communicate with confidence in a conversation. I'm going to share with you
three strategies for what to do and common things that you can say to help
you in those moments when you feel stuck. We're going to start with situation
number one - someone asks you a question in English and you have no idea what to
say. Maybe you've never heard the question before, maybe you didn't
understand it clearly, maybe you just don't know you just need a little bit of
time to think. So here are two strategies to help you.
Number one - if you just need a little bit of time to think get your thoughts clear
and figure out the right words to say then buy yourself some time. What that
means is saying something that will give you some extra moments to think. Here are
three things native speakers often say when we need just a moment to think
about what we want to say and find the right words. 1. Great question!
Let me think about that for a moment. Number two - you know I've never thought
about that. Let me think about it. And number three - huh, you know I'm not sure.
Give me a second to think about it. Each of those sentences will buy you or get
you some time so that you can pause, take a deep breath to calm down, and think
about what it is that you want to say in English. The second strategy that you can
use when you don't know what to say, you don't know how to answer a question in
English is to answer a question with a question and this is my favorite
strategy to use in English and in my second language when someone asks me a
question and I don't know what to say, I feel a little bit stuck and I need some
time. I usually say something like: You know, I'm not sure. What about you? For
example, imagine that you're talking to someone and they ask you a question,
maybe they ask your opinion on a topic and you freeze you don't know what you
want say, you need some time to think about it,
to find the right words. Instead of trying to answer or feeling nervous you
could simply say: You know, I don't know what I think about it. What about you? Or
I'm not sure. Let me think about it but what about you? What did you think?
When you do that, when you answer a question with a question,
it gets the other person speaking and it gives you time to keep thinking about
what you want to say. Now in that example, my answer to the question was I don't
know or I'm not sure let me think about it,
what about you? That doesn't always work. For example if someone says 'what do you
do' they're asking about your job and of course you know what your job is so you
can't say I don't know but you could use something like: Give me a moment to think
about how to explain it in English and while I think tell me about your job.
Again that will get the other person speaking and it gives you time to think
about what you want to say and find the words that you need. Now those two
strategies that we talked about - buying yourself time with something like 'let me
think about that' or answering with a question - those give you the opportunity
to think about what you want to say but what should you do if you just don't
understand the question, you're not sure what they asked you? I actually have a
full lesson just on that topic of what should you do and say when you don't
understand and you can get a link to that lesson below this video but now
let's move on to situation number 2. You're having a conversation in English
or you're speaking at a business meeting and things are going
great until you lose it. You lose the word or suddenly you can't think of the
expression that you want to use. You've totally lost what you wanted to say and
those moments can definitely be embarrassing because other people are
waiting for you, they're waiting for you to continue or to say what you want but
you're totally stuck. This happens so often to native speakers that we have
several things that we say in those moments and these things help us to have
time to think, they explain what happened, they make other people laugh, or they
help us change the topic. So you can use the same expressions native speakers use
to help you in those moments when you lose the word, you feel stuck, and you
need time to think or you want to change the topic or you simply want to explain
what just happened and everyone will understand because again it happens to
all of us. So here are several things native speakers say. These are things
that I say when I forget what I want to say or I lose a word. Number one - oh my
gosh! I totally lost what I wanted to say. I'm
so sorry. Give me a moment to think about it. Number two - oh my brain just froze! I
lost what I wanted to say. Number three - mmm I can't find the word that I want to
use. Maybe you can help me if I explain it. And then you would try to find
another way to explain the word or the expression you're looking for and get
other people to help you find it. Number four - oh I lost my train of
thought. One moment. And then use that extra moment to try to
get your thoughts back together to get those connections in your mind going.
Number 5 is with an idiom that we use often - oh I lost the word! It's on
the tip of my tongue. We use that idiom to say we almost remember it, it's so
close in our mind but we can't find the word or we can't find the expression and
again if you really can't find it then you could ask someone to help you or
change the topic. Number six - oh sorry, I forgot what I wanted to say. Um, hopefully
it'll come back to me in a moment. Hopefully it will come back to me in a
moment. That's another great expression to use to buy yourself some time to show
that you've lost what you wanted to say, you can't find it and maybe those words
will come back to you if you have a little bit of time to think. And finally,
another common way that native speakers talk about this is - hmm I think my brain
just went dead. Sorry. Now all of those sentences that we just talked about
explain what happened if somebody's listening to you speak and you suddenly
get stuck. Those sentences will explain what happened and of course it gives you
a little bit of time to think but if you cannot find the word, if you're thinking
about it and it doesn't come back to you you have three options. Number one: just
forget about what you were trying to say and go forward. So for example, if you're
at a business meeting and you're sharing an idea, suddenly you get stuck, you're
trying to find the word and you explain 'oh I'm sorry. I just lost what I'm trying
to say. lLet me think about it.' And if it doesn't come back to you you can say
something like: You know it's not coming back to me
but let me continue. And then you just go on to your next topic. The second
thing you can do is give someone else the opportunity to speak. If you're
in a conversation, you get stuck and it's not coming back to you, you could say: You
know, I just can't remember what I wanted to say. Maybe it will come back to me and
I can talk about it later but does anyone else want to answer the question?
Or does anyone else have something to say? And it's an invitation to others in
the conversation to speak instead. Your third option is to simply change the
subject, to move on to a new topic. If you get stuck and you cannot find the
words that you wanted to say, you lose your thoughts and they don't come back
to you, you can simply change the subject by saying: You know, it's not coming back
to me. Let's move on, let's change the topic. In all of those situations you
continue the conversation successfully and maybe in a few minutes
what you wanted to say, the words you were looking for, will come back to your
mind and later in the conversation or while you're speaking at the business
meeting you could say: Oh I just remembered what I wanted to say earlier!
And then you can continue to say what you want. So the next time this happens
to you, when someone asks you a question in English and you freeze for a moment
or you're speaking and suddenly you lose what you wanted to say, try using one of
these strategies to help you continue in that conversation. And here is another
thing that is great about those strategies that you can use: they work in
every situation. If you're talking to a friend in English, you're talking to your
neighbor about a vacation that you went on, if you're at a business meeting
sharing your idea, or getting to know a new client. In all of those
situations these strategies are perfectly appropriate and polite to use.
And if you found today's lesson useful to you, please let me know. You can do
that by giving this video a thumbs up on YouTube and sharing it on Facebook. With
that have a fantastic week and I look forward to seeing you in our next
Confident English lesson.

How To Clean Your Belly Button In Simple But Effective Ways - Duration: 5:28.
How To Clean Your Belly Button In Simple But Effective Ways
The belly button, or the navel, is one part of the body that hardly claims any attention – unless you have a piercing, of course.
But research shows that a total of 2,368 different species live within belly buttons.
An average person, it is believed, can have up to 67 species of bacteria living in there.1.
It is not necessary to give your belly button a full-fledged cleanup every day.
Our regular baths and showers are enough to take care of this.
Especially since many of the bacteria that are teeming in there are helpful bacteria.
But sometimes, the bacteria can mix with your sweat, dirt, soap, or talc, and create bad odor.
So, the navel can do with a heavy duty cleanup occasionally.
Here are some ways you can clean your belly button.
Use A Cotton Swab And Cleaning Solution.
Use Salt Water Cleanup.
A salt water solution is at once an antiseptic as well as a cleaning agent.
Using a warm salt water solution is believed to be far more beneficial than regular salt water.
Make a salt water solution using sea salt and warm water.
Scrape out the dirt from the navel using a cotton swab.
Rinse the navel using the hot salt water solution.
Pat dry with a towel or tissue.
Repeat the process till you are satisfied with the results.
Try Hot Oil Massage For Stubborn Dirt.
Take Special Care If You Have A Piercing.
Do not remove a new piercing till it is fully healed and if there is no pus or blood coming from it.
There should also be no crust formations on the jewelry.
To clean your belly button and your piercing, follow the given steps:.
Move the piercing as high up as possible.
Soak it.
Then move it as far down as possible.
De-crust the piercing using a tissue dipped in saline solution.
Clean and dry your navel using cotton swabs.
Ensure there is no water or moisture in the navel.
For those with new piercings, it will be beneficial to also use an antimicrobial agent when cleaning the belly button.
Always Moisturize After Cleaning.
Moisturize Your Belly Button After Cleaning.
It is very important to keep your belly button and its surrounding area moisturized.
This will ensure that the area remains soft and smooth and free of infections and foul odor.
A dry belly button and surrounding area can lead to itching sensation.
Scratching the itch can lead to bruises and infections.

10 Simple Home Remedies For Sinus Infections
Irrigate The Nasal Passage With A Baking Soda/Salt Water Solution.
Washing out your nasal passages helps remove mucus and hydrates the membranes.
To do this, first make a solution with half a teaspoon each of non-iodized salt and baking soda in 2 cups of sterile warm water.
Then fill a neti pot (a traditional nasal irrigation device) or a bulb syringe with this solution.
Now lean over a sink and bend your head slightly so your ear faces the sink.
Insert the spout of the neti pot gently into your nostril and allow the solution to run into one nostril and out the other.
Now repeat on the other side.
Don't worry if the water runs out the same nostril – that'll work too.2.
Apply A Warm Compress.
Soak a clean washcloth in warm water and apply it to your face.
This can help liquify and loosen thick mucus as well as alleviate sinus pain.
Steam Inhale With Eucalyptus Oil.
The warmth and moistness of steam can help loosen mucus.
And eucalyptol, a volatile oil present in eucalyptus, has expectorant as well as antiseptic and properties.
So this combination can work wonders for clearing out mucus and germs from your nasal passage.
Steam Inhale With Chamomile.
Chamomile works just as well as eucalyptus in a steam inhalation.
It has anti-inflammatory properties and is especially useful to treat inflammation in mucous membranes.
A soothing chamomile steam inhalation should feel just right when you're all stuffy and irritated.
Just add a few drops of chamomile oil to boiling water and inhale the vapor 2–4 times a day.6.
Have Grated Horseradish.
Horseradish is a traditional remedy that has been used for ages to deal with sinusitis.
The sulfur-containing compounds in horseradish are thought to help soften mucus, making it easier to drain.7 Studies also show that volatile oils in this root vegetable may help deal with respiratory infections as they have antibiotic properties.8 Having about ½ or 1 teaspoon of grated horseradish 3 times a day can help.9.
Drink Peppermint Tea.
Sip On Echinacea Tea.
Studies show that echinacea can boost your immune system and lessen inflammation.
This property helps it tackle sinus infections and colds.
You can brew a tea from this herb, but it is also available as capsules and extracts.
Having echinacea thrice a day may be helpful.
But do take care not use this herb for more than 10 days continuously or have it on an empty stomach.
Chomp On Pineapples.
Pineapple contains an enzyme known as bromelain that can help ease swelling and inflammation and relieve symptoms of sinusitis.
Bromelain is also available as a supplement but this can interact with certain medicines used to control high blood pressure and blood thinners.
Just keep it natural by getting your bromelain from pineapples, incorporating it into your daily diet.
Have Turmeric Tea. Take Elderberry Syrup.

A Simple Tip For The Opiate Epidemic...[Physical Therapist=Primary Care Provider] - Duration: 4:14.
Hey guys, it's Stephen with CORE Therapy and Pilates... today I wanted to go over a
facebook live video with something that I think is very important, something that
is dear to my heart for some time and I heard someone talking about this over
the weekend and thought oh this is perfect, I got to get this information
and message out... what I want to talk about is the role of the physical
therapist in the medical system, most people when they hurt their backs or
they hurt their shoulder or they have a headache
they go straight to the MD who is considered the primary care physician
however I feel like for musculoskeletal issues or anything on the outside that
the primary care provider should be the physical therapist, not the MD and I'll
go into more details about that in a moment...but when someone has a teeth, tooth issue
some something with their teeth they go see the dentist
when someone has a wants to see a doctor that specializes in the foot they go to
see the podiatrist when... come here Dudley, you cant knock, Dudley is about
to knock over the camera, hang on buddy you just hang tight with me don't
knock that came over... when someone has an issue with their eyes they go their
optometrist but what happens when people go see the physician for back pain or neck pain, they
end up getting provided with opiates and medicine to fight that... so that's my
primary reason why I think a physical therapist should be the first and
foremost place to start because there will be no drugs provided we are in an
opiate epidemic here in America and what happens when someone goes to see the
doctor the MD for back pain or shoulder pain and they're provided with an opiate
that is a problem and that is happening at a tremendous level. I read an article
just last night, I'm from Louisiana I grew up just outside of New Orleans and
I read an article that said that in Louisiana right now out of every hundred
residents there are 98 prescriptions for opiates... chew on that... for every 100
residents in Louisiana there's 98 prescriptions for opiates... that is crazy!
and that wasn't even the highest in the country
they were fifth in the country, there were a few more states that were worse.
so my point is is if you go to a doctor and they give you medication because
that's really all they know how to do to help your back pain they're setting you
up to be in a place of a possible opiate addiction and that is not something you
want to do... so with physical therapy if you start with physical therapy, we're
gonna be doing natural things to help you that will not interfere and cause
some kind of major problem like with the opiate epidemic that's going on, so again
a primary care physician, the primary care provider for physical therapy, no
musculoskeletal injuries should be the physical therapist however it's not! so I think
it's something that we I want to just get out there and change because what
happens a lot of times you go to the MD but back pain they give you drugs they
send you to the orthopedist, the orthopedist won't see you until you get
an MRI so it's gonna take about a month to get the MRI and get in to see the
orthopedist, well in that time typically the physical therapist can already make
tremendous changes and really be helping the person get back to doing their goals
of what they really want to do... so that's my message for today when your back
hurts go to your physical therapist, your shoulder hurts, when your knee hurts go
to your physical therapist... if you see a physical therapist first and you still
need to see a doctor, they can send you there you can always go get injections
you can always go get medications, you can always go get surgery... later! but if
you do it first you might miss the chance to solve the problem
conservatively... okay that's my message for today I hope all is well... like
comment, subscribe and we'll see you around the studio...
take care!

7. Building a Super Simple Dashboard - Duration: 21:16.
Welcome to the final video in this tutorial and the module. Okay. so in this
video we're going to build our very first Power BI dashboard, so in order to
do that what we need to do first is actually save the data export that we
created here. So I'm just going to go: file, save, enable saving and I'm actually
going to save it as a file on my desktop so it'll be easy to find.
So: desktop, save. Okay, perfect. What we need to do then is we need to
open up Power BI, so please go ahead and do that and we should see this screen
pop up so we can either get data here or get data here. That's going to be our
first step. We're going to import our excel file, so I'm just going to click on
'get data' and then this window is going to pop up. So I'm going to select Excel,
connect. I'm going to go to my desktop and I'm going to double-click my Super
Simple Survey Excel export. Great! Then it shows me what's inside the Excel
workbook, so I'm going to select forms and load. So it's going to load my forms
and there we go. So here inside the fields pane I can see hey I got one
query called forms with the following column names, it just automatically identified that.
Here in visualizations we can start creating a number of different
visualizations, so let's go ahead and do that.
Let's start with the simplest visualization possible and that is this
one, it's called 'Card', so let's select it and it will show up here. And so the
simplest visualization that we can do is: I want to know that
number of people that I've interviewed, and in this case obviously it's test
data so I didn't actually interview anyone I just entered a bunch of random
names, but still I want to know how many names are in my system. So we could
either do that by selecting the name column or, even better, we can do it using
the form ID column. So I can just drag this form ID into fields and then it's
going to automatically show me the very first form ID, but that's not much use to
me so I'm going to just click on first form ID on the little arrow here and I'm
going to select count or alternatively count distinct which would be even
better which means it's going to count the number of unique form IDs and since
all of my form IDs are unique it shouldn't matter whether I select count
or count distinct. And there we go! So I know that I have eight forms in my data
set. In other words I have eight people that I interviewed, so instead of having
this count of form ID label here I'm going to change this. I want to know the
total number of respondents, that's what I wanted to say. So in order to do that
I'm going to click on this little button here which is my format pane and I'm
going to turn off this category label selection and then I'm going to turn on
this title selection and I'm going to expand that by clicking on this little
arrow and then we can choose the title text, so my title text is going to be
"total number of respondents". Perfect! But it's a bit small for me and it's not
centered so I'm going to center it and then I'm going to increase the size to
15 to make it a proper title and then increase this. I've also moved this box
to the top left because we always want to try and make the most use of the
space that we have on our dashboard. Great! So there you go that's our first
visualization and as you enter more data, it could be test data or real data, and you
export your file again, this number will also automatically change. So what could
be the next step the next visualization, well how about the number of pets. So if
I drag over and make wider my fields pane I could see the different columns
that I have. So remember I have date of birth, whether or not they own any pets, their
name, where they would most like to visit. So let's use this: "Do you own any pets
one?", and that's a yes/no question so you know a perfect visualization for yes/no
questions is the pie chart, so I'm just going to click in the blank space here
to make sure I'm not selecting any of my visualizations and then I'm going to
insert the pie chart but just simply clicking on it. Again I'm going to move
it around a bit that's fine and then here we see the different fields that
are available to us. So we have the legend, we have the details with the
values and then we have the tool tips. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to put
the form ID into the values because I want to count how many instances I have
and then in the legend I'm going to put "How many pets do you own?". No, sorry I'm
going to put "Do you own any pets?" and there we go it looks like about 3/4 do
own pets and if we hover over the yes portion of this pie chart, we can see
that six of our submitted forms have responded "Yes" and that's 75% and two
have responded "No" which equals 25%. Great! So this title isn't very nice so again
I'm going to go to the format. I can then click on the format button and then in
title I'm going to expand this and I'm going to just simply write out the
question, so: "Do you own any pets?" Great! And again
I'm going to center it and make this 15. There! That's looking nicer already. Okay,
so what other columns do we have here, what other questions do we ask? Well
how about the name and date of birth, maybe I just want to display this like I
would in a regular Excel sheet, so the way we do that is by selecting a table.
So I'm going to insert the table, I'm going to make it a little bit bigger so
it reaches the bottom and I'm going to drag in the name and the date of birth.
Okay, great! So I have my name and then I have this yea,r quarter, month. Well that's
a bit strange because I'm not really interested in what quarter they're born
in I just wanted to display the date so we can really easily change that here. So
as you can see we have form dot date of birth with the year, quarter, month and
day and if I again click on this little arrow I can say hey I don't want this
date hierarchy I just wanted to display date of birth. Perfect! Okay, so we have
our little table now. Another visualization that we can enter is maybe
a bar chart showing how many pets each person owns, so let's select this very
first visualization. Again, I'm going to click in the blank space first and then
on the first visualization I'm going to make this nice and big, nice and long, so
we can properly see what's going on and so what I want to see is I want to see
the name stand by the axis and then the values, i.e. the number of pets, along the
x axis. So let's put name on the axis and then I'm going to put "How many pets do
you own?" in the value and now something interesting is going on. We see zero to
one and so it seems like everybody only owns
one pet, but we know that's not true we know they actually own, you know some
own one sure, but others might own three or even twelve. Okay, so let's see what's
going on here, we need to go to our query editor. So I'm going to go to my query
editor by clicking on this button here 'edit queries' and there we go we're
inside a query editor we can see all the different columns that are selected and
here we can see all the different query steps. So if we click on these individual
steps we can see okay we identify the source first, then we went into
navigation. We, in the navigation steps the column headers are not yet
identified as such so it automatically promoted the headers and
then it went and changed all the types so if we go back to the promoted header
step we can see hey, you know, none of these data types have yet been defined
but when we go here at the change type we can see, okay, it's recognized form ID
as a text column, it's recognized date of birth as a date column and then here "How
many pets do you have?" it's recognized as a text column and why is that? That is
because we have these null values but they're not really no values in Commcare
they're exported as three dashes so we need to change those dashes into null
values and change the data type into numeric, so let's do that. I've selected the how
many pets do you own column and I'm going to go to transform, replace values
then in the value to find I'm going to enter three dashes and replace with 'null'.
So null in Power BI is a special value. It's not zero but it means, it tells our
dashboard that there is just no value in that cell.
Let's press OK. All right, nice. And we can see that null is a special value
because it's italicized and then here this ABC we're
going to change it to a whole number. Great! So let's press home, close and
apply. Okay, so nothing much has changed yet although two of the names disappeared.
Reply no. And that is because in the value it's still registered as
count of how many pets you own and we just want that to be the sum and there
we go. Now we have a table or a graph that makes sense.
Okay, so again I'm going to change the title here by clicking on the pen
formatter. I'm also going to turn on data labels to show me quickly like okay
that's how many pets everybody owns. Then I'm going to change the title, so it's
going to say "How many pets do you own?"
center it, 15 and there we go. Okay, so what are some other visualizations that we
can put in here. How about a map visualization? So we can insert the map
visualization by clicking on this button here map again I clicked in the blank
space and then I'm going to select map I'm just going to put that down here.
Make it a bit bigger and now we can enter some, sorry just click on it, so now we
can enter all of these values, all of these fields are linked to this map
visualization. So what is the first one? It's location so for us that is where
would you most like to visit, so let's drag and drop that in there. ah! So now we
see for each country a little blip showing up. That's great.
But we also want to know for each country, we want to change the size of
the bubble to reflect the number of people that want to go to that country.
So for value precise, I'm going to insert form ID again and there we go! So two
people want to go to Japan, two want to go to Brazil, two to the US and one to
Kenya and same for India. Great and again like for you it might be different and
that is because you might have responded differently when testing the application.
Then I want to add a bit of color to this map so in the legend I'm going to
put the same one again, "Where would you most like to visit?" and then we have the
different colours. Great! So let's make it a bit prettier by clicking on the format
button and I'm just going to open up the legend tab here and I'm going to
remove the title. Okay, so now it's just Brazil, Japan, USA, India, Kenya.
I'm going to make it a little bit bigger so maybe 10 and then again the title with
the question "Where would you most like to visit?" or "Where would you most like to
go on holiday?"
Great! And again I'm going to center it make it 15.
And another thing we could do is turn on the category labels so now it shows us
which country each of these is. So a final graph that we can put in here is
maybe a scatterplot, so that's when we want to compare two numeric variables.
So, one thing we can do is we can plot the age against the number of pets to see if
there's a relationship. As people get older do they start accumulating more
pets or is this just a myth, so there's one problem we only have one you know
numeric variable in our inner set we also have this number but that is just
the row number so that doesn't mean anything and so we need to create
another number, we need to basically create an age number. So how do we do
that? Well we go back to our query editor, so I'm going to click on edit queries
and what we're going to do is we're going to add a column. So here we have
the date of birth column and when I've clicked on the add column tab, I can
create a new column that extracts only the year so let's just extract the year
from this date of birth column. So again I went date and then I selected year, and
there we go! So this is their birth year and if I want to now calculate the
age what I simply do is I create a custom column I'm going to call it age
and then we'll say it's the year, so that's the birth year, no sorry so we say
2017 - the birth year, right? And obviously there's a way to do this more
dynamically, I mean we can enter a formula here which automatically tells
us what the year is now but you know for the purposes of this demonstration, let's
keep it simple. I just say okay 2017 - the year is going to give me the age and
there we go: twenty nine, thirty eight, twenty eight,
Great! One last thing we need to do is change the data type here, so we're going
to change it to a whole number and now we'll be able to use it in our query.
Let's go to home, close and apply. Great! So again I'm going to click on the blank
space and I'm going to enter this one, this visualization with all the bubbles
which is our scatter chart. Great, I'm going to enlarge it a bit and again it
shows us the values that we can enter. So what are we going to enter first? I mean,
so we have the x-axis and y-axis right? So one of those is going to be "How many
pets do they own?" and the other is going to be age, so let's put age in the x-axis,
and then let's put how many pets that you own in the y-axis.
Alright, great! However, we get only one point and then 30, 20 to 30, on the y-axis
and something like 300 on the x-axis. so what's going on here? Well first of all,
we don't want to know the the sum values we want to know the average
values. Okay, so this makes a bit more sense, right? So the average number of
pets is 4.3, the average age is about 36 but still this isn't quite what we want.
So up here we have the details at tab and this is where we're going to put our
form ID because that's the level of detail we want, we want every single
person to be represented here. So here 12 pets that's clearly Omar Sy, and here the
oldest person with two pets, that might be Mary or Nastio. Okay, and one more
thing that we want to do here now is we want to add a trendline to see well what
is the relationship and we can do that here in this third tab: analytics. So
let's click it and then first option is a trendline we're going
to add it and there we go. So a very weak trend between the number of pets owned
and age. Okay, great! So another thing I see here is that you know this y-axis
has a bit of an ugly name and so we can change that by simply coming here and
this is how many pets you own, right click and I click on rename. So I'm going
to make this nice: "How many pets do you own?" and there we go it's changed it.
And again let's change the title of this scatter plot by clicking on title,
selecting the title, deleting it and then we'll say "pets owned versus age".
Again, I'm going to center it and make it 15. Great! And so we've set up our first
dashboard. Here I'm going to quickly change the name of this tab by double
clicking it and I'll say Super Simple Dashboard.
Excellent! So that's it and feel free to click around on your new dashboard, so if
I click on, you know, the the different pie charts is going to update all the
other graphs so if I'm only interested in people that do have pets I can see
that it was six people. Here are their names and then our, you know, where would
you most like to visit map will also update accordingly. If I click on one of
the individual names, for example, I could see like which country did they want to
go to, did they answer yes or no and some more details. So that's pretty much it
for this video, I hope you enjoyed this module in general and we'll see you next
time for our Commcare beginners module. Alright, bye!
