Amaranth leaves Sambar Curry
with some vegetables
too many vegetables are not required
Children will love to have this
because they usually don't eat Amaranth leaves in other forms
This recipetastes sour,sweet and spicy, in short it is very tasty
everyone will love this recipe

Ingredients required for this recipe
Amaranth leaves, washed and cut in small pieces as shown
Split Pigeon Peas (Toor Dal) - 50 gm
wash and soak in water (just for few minutes until you finish cutting Amaranth leaves)
one chopped onion
even shallots can be used
here I have taken medium size onion
Tomato - 1
Green Chilli 3
Garlic cloves - 7 (one whole garlic)
Red Chilli powder - 2 teaspoon
Coriander powder - 1.25 teaspoon
Aafoetida powder - 0.5 teaspoon
Fenugreek powder - 0.25 teaspoon
Turmeric powder - 0.25 teaspoon
Tamarind size of gooseberry soaked in water
mustard seeds
Curry leaves, Coriander leaves and two Dry Red Chilli
cooking oil
these are the ingredients required for this recipe
let us see
Add to pressure cooker - chopped Amaranth leaves
Split Pigeon Peas
onions
tomato
garlic
green chilli
one teaspoon salt
let us add water
I added 700 ml water (two and a half cup)
mix properly
close the lid
place it on flame
place the weight (whistle)
we will wait for four whistle
[after four whistle]
let the steam escape from cooker
steam has gone
let us open the lid and see
everything is cooked properly
let us keep this stuff aside and then
place a pan on flame
pan is hot, let us add some cooking oil
oil is hot
add half teaspoon mustard seeds
mustard seeds are sizzling, add dry red chilli
add curry leaves and
coriander leaves
add coriander powder
add red chilli powder
saute
Note# put the flame in low flame, do not burn the spices
we need to get rid of the raw smell
and add tamarind juice (earlier soaked in water)
saute
now let us add the cooked stuff (Split Pigeon Peas+amaranth leaves mix)
add turmeric powder
we need to boil the stuff, increase flame
add Aafoetida powder
let me check if salt is okay...
little salt is required
earlier we added salt
but now I am adding half teaspoon salt
now its boiling, lower the flame
now we have enough gravy
it is because we added more water while cooking peas and leaves
if not you can add hot water at this stage
I have enough gravy that is why am not adding more water
may become thick later because of the presence of peas
add Fenugreek powder
this recipe is very healthy.
has got peas and leaves
we have not added coconut
this recipe has got different taste
everyone will love this recipe
my family loves this recipe
in this recipe we can add more tomatoes
I had only one tomato in my kitchen lol
our Cheera Sambar is ready!
have it with rice - Sooooper curry!
