News on Youtube Jul 29 2018

Hey what's going on everybody, so I want to walk you through

mailing boss and if you're watching us today or anytime check the date because

as of today

the

27th of July 2018. They redid a lot of builder all

And mailing boss is obviously part of it all but has a really big change that happened

so now any entrepreneur or anybody using email marketing can actually get

Mailing boss for a very very low one-time fee and I'm telling you right now. I've used a weber I've used MailChimp

I use a couple other

email services and

Mailing boss so far from everything I've used. It's a lot better and a lot more simpler to use

I mean like I mean the most beginner of beginner people and

Email marketing could definitely use this and like be successful with it

Like I I have no doubt in my mind, but I want to show you here

What mailing boss is in the background or the back end so that way you can take advantage of it?

And if you don't I don't take my word for it. I

Posted the link below the funnel that talks all about it gives you more information. Check it out for yourself

See if it's see if it's something for you. I mean I'm telling you if you check it out

I mean it gives you like unlimited sins

quotas

All I mean all that good stuff it's just insane so

You'll go through a link. Okay, so you see here go to list companion subscribers

Subscriber says 2,000 actually just had that 10,000 but they're still messing with this. So it should actually become unlimited

so this way and again, it's like it's

$50 not for a month. Not for a year for the lifetime a

Like $50 for a lifetime of one of the best email marketing services I have ever used

and when it comes to open rates so far I

Sent out like a test campaign and this is the same thing. I'm reading and hearing from a lot of other people

But they're saying that with mailing bought so far like their email like open rates that actually like hit the main people's inboxes

Have been very very high compared to about the things but yeah, let's get into it here. So

Obviously, this is the hole in the screen

Check it out. Yeah, when I go through this you're going to say you're gonna see how easy it is to use

So if you need to create a new subscriber list, super easy

You just do it here. If you want to create a new campaign whether it's like an autoresponder just a regular email. I

Mean, it's super easy. So we'll go through this

Click on tools here just sync

Yeah sync and split you can split your list if you want to or sync subscribers typically from like another platform now here's campaign. So

If you if you had a listen you want to send just like a regular email like you just want to blast a list out

Not like an autoresponder. This is where you do it super simple. You just go to create new and

It's a pop-up here source name it regular when you've got a regular autoresponder

Sequence if you have it available, you can set it up on the sequence and you choose your list obviously

you choose segments because if you have people for tags like

People like if you sent a ton of people your email and like only a certain amount of them opened it so you wanted to

Send an email see the same list, but only to the people who did it open your email

Or maybe they didn't click on a link inside your email. You don't retarget those people

You can typically set them up with tags or you can go and set them up as certain segments and things like that

So and you can see up here. It goes to the details have to fill this. It's setup template confirmation

done which

The template there's a lot of templates to use. It's just email marketing. So there's nothing too crazy

Unless you have like a Shopify store and you do like the kind of the catalog emails

We want to put like pictures your products and things like that. I could definitely see people doing that. Let me go back here

actually, let me go back to the

Email regular so I can show you something so like right here, you'll see

These are a couple campaigns. This is actually an outer spawner set ups

You can see here fires immediately the 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 or 6 days afterwards and here's a little test one

I sent out because this is the list I just I just brought this list on and

this is like the first time I emailed them out through a new mailing boss and I kind of want to see like

What the rates we're gonna be in things like that. So

out of 614

577 or obviously successful

There's an error which this list this list needs clean like big-time. I get just been sitting around for a while

That's why I kind of wanted to blast it out and kind of see like hey, how active isn't

Zero unsubscribes. No unsubscribe rate. You can see how many bounce back

Total of 37 and here's again. Here's a cool thing

You can see what the click-through rate was. I put one link in there. That was 15 unique

Clicks for all all clicks for 39 so you again you can track those people you can segment them

And tag them if you need it to

a

Couple I can keep keep like retargeting them and things like that. Now here's another really cool thing

So they have a new thing called workflow. I'll show you this

And here's workflow. So to keep it real simple

What you can do with workflow is

If you're looking at the screen here like say for example

The first woman is like like an email list like either you have a list

That you're currently using or you're like you're creating people who are opting into your list and you put them on like an autoresponder. So

let's say it stopped in to get some sort of offer or

Whatever it is

So you obviously get these people to opt-in for some sort of reason typically in a bicep then just get them on the list

Okay, so when you get them on here you can see you can set up email campaign Nam lists or sequences

So this is just a basic. This is I didn't this isn't actually like is it a real one?

This is a super basic. So it looks pretty ugly but I put this together kind of give me an example

So what it is is somebody opts in here right? Say you offer them something

There's two ways they can go cuz again, you can tag people track them segment them all that good stuff

So say you offer them something and these people took the offer so that you said hey, yeah, they took the offer

So you said a thank you page or whatever it is

Whatever the offer is and then you continuously like if they sign up for an affiliate product or something or some sort of service

And you have like an email

like like autoresponder to like help them to like

Utilize the service they signed up for to really make the most of us so that way key getting paid for it

They're gonna go down this route. Well, let's say they get the email they opened it up, but they don't click that

Maybe they clicked on a link

Maybe they didn't or they just didn't buy what you had to offer so they don't go down this route

they're gonna go down the other route and this is where you're gonna kind of nurture them into a

What we call like a warm lead

and to get them into the buying stage and

Here's what a lot of people miss with emails or email lists. I should say

But I mean you probably under term a buyer is a buyer as a buyer

So if you can get like a ton of buyers on your email list

It's I like your list so you can continuously market to them

You can do very well

Especially when you break it down like this because you're gonna see who exactly it's like on your hot

Hot leads and who's kind of cold needs nurtured and who's just like dead like never open dream emails nothing like that. So

With that and you can see here. That's the beta because again, they like literally just redid a lot of this today and

Yeah, so this is like some of the stuff in here might change but that's kind of the background of mailing boss

it's I'm telling you so so so so so so easy to use like it's insane and

It like here's the craziest thing again. Like I don't think I have to say it but

You can literally get this like simple email software

For 50.1 time 50 bucks like I like when I signed up for Aweber

it was like 20 bucks for like

Whatever how many amount of people and it just Rises the more people we have and things like that

Like how many emails you can send I mean with this it's like unlimited like I don't want to talk too much about it

But I want you to actually go in the sales funnel below and check it out for yourself

Like I want you to see it for yourself

This is just the backend of mailing boss and how it works and why it's so easy

but I want you to check it out for yourself and you probably ever mentioned builder all because

Some people ask hey is a mailing boss

Like part of builder all like don't have to get builder. Oh, and that's not the case anymore. You can actually just buy

manly boss for 50 dollars for the life

For life and that's why it's a game-changing and that's why so many people gonna be switching to it because of that

But if you are interested in like becoming an overpaid affiliate or just get into affiliate marketing with Botero

We actually have our own builder own team where we have we have tons of trainings mentoring coaching

You have you can use our free email swipe files to when you bring people on to really nurture them

You have our funnels you can use they're all cloned. You just put your filling send them all done for you

But I mean you get a free membership site when you join our affiliate team you get a private Facebook group

I can send a coaching mentoring training and not just an affiliate for a builder all but affiliate marketing in a home like

with everything else so

I'll be futurist in that

I'll post a link down below to and you can definitely check that out because if you are interested in affiliate marketing

Becoming over pedophilia or just start creating passive income for yourself

this is gonna be an awesome route to do it because when you when you're doing this with more people

Instead. Are you gonna add it yourself?

Once everybody gets a like-minded group and really helps propel each other. You're obviously gonna go farther. That's just a basic sense of it

So we want to help you get to that point get everybody to that point

So obviously if we help you it helps us and then everybody gets helped and everybody's a happy camper all that good stuff. So

yeah, and then the the what is it the video should be popping up here in a second for that bit wrong video if you've

Never seen it before

From one of my old videos, but other than that you guys have a great great great great rest of the summer

Hopefully you sign up for this. It's only 50 bucks. And I think there's a free trial too. So that's insane. But

Go ahead and do that if you want to draw freely a team

We're more than happy to help you only only only only only if you're serious about it

And you're coachable and all that good stuff. So I am out guys

I'm gonna end this video and you guys have a great rest of the frickin summer

Mission: Impossible - Fallout Movie Review (2018) - Duration: 5:23.

What's going on guys?

I'm Tyler and I'm here to let you know that 'Mission: Impossible - Fallout'

is NoPerfectMovie!

And it takes place a couple years after the events of 'Rogue Nation' where Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and his team now have to stop

a new terrorist group called 'The Apostles' which is made up of what was left over from 'The Syndicate' from the last movie,

and stop them from retrieving a case of plutonium that could be used to set off a major

nuclear bomb. And I was really excited for this movie because Chris McQuarrie, the director of 'Rogue Nation' is

coming back to do this one.

He's the first director to do more than one Mission Impossible film' and 'Rogue Nation'

believe it or not is actually my favorite of the franchise. I love the style that McQuarrie gives, his writing was very

well thought-out and calculated, the performances were among the best of the franchise for me anyways, and the action scenes, of course

were awesome to watch; they were practical, you could see the action full hand, the actors were fully committed to the choreography...

And I'm happy to say that in this movie is the exact same thing... and then some! In terms of the scope,

the choreography,

the cinematography, the stunt work...

This is one of the best action movies I have seen in a very,

very long time and again what makes it so awesome to watch is that it is entirely practical!

Tom Cruise IS jumping from building to building.

He and Henry Cavill are fighting on top of a mountain range and could fall off and any given time! And that's what makes it

really intense because what you're seeing is actually happening firsthand!

And I'm not saying it's a bad thing when some fight scenes are filmed on a green screen or using digital doubles-

I'm fine with that,

but at the same time,

you know for a fact that what you're looking at

isn't entirely real and it takes a little bit of the snakes out of it,

and with a film like this where there have been five others beforehand and you kind of already know what to expect from the story

the execution is what matters the most for this film! And yeah, even though the story can be predictable times and that the twists-

whether or not you've seen these movies you see coming a mile away,

it is the characters that make the action and the story equally investing.

I think this might be my favorite Tom Cruise performance as Ethan Hunt and that's mostly because

his actions dictate a lot of what happens during the movie and

much of it comes from whether or not he can spare one life or

let that one life go for the sake of millions of others being saved. He is that

complex of a hero where just the thought of one person dying is enough to make him snap and the film really goes into the

fact that maybe he

should leave one alone and go focus on the majority,

which is not a simple choice to make but it's a choice that he has to do as a government agent.

Ving Rhames has a very

emotional presence to the film where he

notices that Ethan is taking a bit of a darker turn than he usually does, and he has

a very great scene where he confides in one character as to what it is that makes him such

a devoted hero to pretty much anyone he comes across, and that scene alone

just made it worth seeing him even if he doesn't always contribute to

everything that goes on in the movie, that one scene was what made him count as a character for me. And I gotta say, this

has got to be my favorite performance of Henry Cavill!

He just loves being this very slimy CIA agent who was willing to do anything to get the job done including

killing people on his own side and

normally, I'm not the biggest fan of him because he's one of those actors where he has this monotone voice where it sounds

smooth and charismatic, but at the same time he's tone doesn't go higher or lower at any given time but

that does kind of fit this character specifically and I really appreciated that.

My only problem is that there are a few scenes that relied too much on

exposition and it's not like I can't handle stuff like that in a spy movie,

it's just the thing that I love about 'Mission: Impossible' is that there are a lot of scenes

featuring silence where characters have to decide what they're gonna do next without having to talk to each other,

There are a lot of scenes like that also and they're a lot of fun to watch,

it's just there are more scenes that feel like homework to watch just a we could follow the rest of the story.

But that aside 'Mission: Impossible -Fallout' may be my new favorite in the franchise!

I'm not entirely sure but I did just re-watch 'Mission: Impossible III' through 'V' which are my personal favorites.

This one... cannot be beat. I don't know if they're gonna make a sequel to it,

I really hope they don't because in terms of

the action, the story, the stakes, the characters and just the scope of the movie...

It has some of the best qualities in

any other movie in the franchise and that's really saying something considering this is the sixth film and I'm gonna give "Mission: Impossible - Fallout":

4.5/5! Guys, thanks as always for watching, if you've seen "Mission: Impossible - Fallout", What did you think about it?

Thank you all very much for watching. Take care!

Breath of the Wild Review - Still a Masterpiece a Year and a Half Later? - Duration: 7:21.

The Legend of Zelda is one of the most legendary game series ever.

For many, a Zelda game is a defining moment in a console generation.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is Link's first adventure on the Nintendo Switch.

As one of the highest rated games of all time, with a multitude of game of the year awards,

this entry in the Zelda franchise has solidified its place in Nintendo history.

But what makes it so incredible?

And, like every other Zelda game, where does it stumble and what needs improvement?

Let's talk about it.

Breath of the wild has taken everything previous Zelda games considered the norm and threw

them out the window.

Replacing those archaic game mechanics are breakable weapons, dozens of armor sets, hundreds

of items and crafting materials, and a climbing system that lets you climb up virtually everything.

Whether it's cooking food to replenish health and give Link buffs like attack up and a rise

in stamina, breaking a weapon and picking up a new one from the enemy you just defeated,

or searching one of the largest Nintendo game worlds ever made, revolutionary is the word

that describes Breath of the Wild the best.

Breath of the Wild's world is absolutely massive.

The scope of the world is insane, and it will take you many, many hours to even SEE all

of the areas.

There's a desert area, volcano area, snowy mountains, seaside, and a ton of other locales.

Each area is filled with shrines, mini-dungeons that double as fast travel locations, there

are 900 Korok Seeds to collect in the game, and there are towns, enemy bases, hidden treasures

and puzzles, and more.

All of this is to say that there is never a lack of things to do in Breath of the Wild,

and you won't be completing everything in the game without clocking over 100 hours.

Then, there are all the new game mechanics.

The biggest change is in Link's ability to traverse the landscape.

See a cliff with stuff on top?

Climb up it!

See a big lake you need to cross?

Swim through it!

Standing on a ledge and see an area nearby you need to get to?

Glide to it!

You are only limited in your ability to do these things by your stamina wheel, which

you can upgrade as you complete more shrines.

This makes it so that no matter where you are looking in the distance, it is somewhere

you can physically go.

This makes exploration, discovery, and novelty in world design a constant.

Even after 100 hours in the game, I will still round a corner and find some new area I haven't

seen.

The breakable weapons are a pro and a con in my eyes.

While I love the idea of constantly getting new weapons, having to switch up types of

weaponry for different strategies, and the awesome feeling of breaking your weapon and

then taking your enemy's to destroy them anyway, the system isn't without it's

downfalls.

When I would get really awesome weapons, I would become reluctant to use them because

I didn't want them to break and disappear.

This resulted in me not using those weapons much and taking longer to fight monsters because

I would use weaker, more common items to fight them.

The cooking system is decent, but I didn't really use it much.

Also, the dozens of outfits all provide different perks, and thus I found myself switching my

outfit often, which is awesome when you want to see and wear everything there is to offer.

Your outfits can also be upgraded at Fairy fountains and can become a lot stronger and

gain new perks as they level up.

Overall, Breath of the Wild's gameplay is some of the best in recent years, and I couldn't

recommend it enough.

Breath of the Wild's graphics are gorgeous.

They meld realistic, cartoony, and comic-book art styles and come out with something enchanting

to look at.

I feel they lean the most towards Wind Waker, though with a more refined and gritty design.

Each area is full of life and character, and whether it's the sandstorms in the desert,

the snow falling in the mountains, the explosions as guardians shoot you, or even the textures

on weapons and outfits, all of the graphics are perfectly suited to this art style.

Unfortunately, the game runs in 720p in handheld mode and up to 900p when docked, so it doesn't

ever hit full HD.

Luckily, the size of the Nintendo Switch's screen makes it so this isn't really noticeable.

It also runs at a very consistent 30 frames-per-second, with only very occasional drops in my experience.

I was disappointed, however, by Breath of the Wild's lack of recognizable and catchy

music.

To this day, I still hold Ocarina of Time as the game soundtrack to beat, and unfortunately

this game doesn't reach those heights.

The music seems more aimed at a lonely, dark feel, with occasional emotional tracks peppered

in at perfect moments.

The voice acting is incredible, the game world sounds are decent, and overall, I think Breath

of the Wild excels in this department.

For the first time in a Zelda game, Breath of the Wild has voice acting!

This is awesome and adds a lot of emotion to the game, and the story is primarily told

through memories.

Flashbacks tell the story of the past and how Hyrule came into its present condition

and provides backstory to the game's main characters.

The world is also full of its own storytelling, with the local inhabitants filling in the

details and fleshing out the local areas.

While I still think the actual plot of Majora's Mask is the most interesting, this is by far

the best storytelling a Zelda game has ever been graced with, and it is enjoyable to the

very end.

I felt a desire to beat the game, to beat Ganon, and to see the story through.

Emotion, anger, frustration, hope—all are in full force here.

I can't wait to see where Nintendo takes the next entry.

There are 900 Korok seeds in this game.

NINE.

HUNDRED.

Collecting all of these alone will take you dozens of hours.

You also have 100+ shrines which are all mini dungeons and each will take a few minutes

to find and complete, there are dozens of side quests, and there are so many secrets

and locations in the game they almost can't be counted.

Some may argue that this game actually has too much in it, and so if you care even a

little about completing games, you'll be in this one for 100 or more hours.

A con here is I actually don't enjoy completing the shrines compared to other dungeons in

Zelda games, and there are only a few ways that you can collect Korok Seeds, and they

become repetitive after a couple hundred times.

Also the Divine Beasts, the main dungeons in the game, are relatively weak and boring.

Side quests are a lot of fun though, and there is so much additional content that offers

variety and novelty.

Breath of the Wild is a joy to play, if you like third-person action adventure games and

open world games.

If you like linear shooters, racing games, or digestible games you can complete rather

quickly, this is not the game for you.

HOWEVER!

If you enjoy adventuring, exploring, fighting monsters, upgrading gear, beating bosses,

completing dungeons, flying, swimming, climbing, etc. you will enjoy this game.

I never stopped having fun and being excited to play Breath of the Wild, and even during

the grind of collecting Korok Seeds the gameplay was so enjoyable it made it worth those many

hours.

If you have liked a previous Zelda game, like any open world games, or like a game of this

style, you will be doing yourself a disservice by not picking this one up.

Honestly, you probably already own The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

If you somehow don't, and you aren't a part of the group I mentioned before that

may not like this game, you owe it to yourself to pick this game up.

With one of the biggest open worlds in years, amazing gameplay mechanics that never get

old, a story worth playing through, and so much content you'll spend more than 100

hours completing it all, Breath of the Wild is one of the most complete packages for a

game I have seen in many years.

It is worth a buy from anyone with a Nintendo switch, and you are truly missing out if this

game hasn't graved your hands.

Carnifex: Slow Death Album Review. (Deathcore Throwback Review!) - Duration: 5:33.

Hey every family keep it high keep it tight

It's jaemor serve you got back to bring you another video. And then this one we are going to be doing another album review

Welcome back

I'm trying to get back into the swing of album reviews and track reviews kind of balancing it out

And I also have some gaming videos coming up soon with some online games

Some new stuff just experimenting with stuff seeing what works and what you guys like

So please be sure to let me know if you like how the channels going. So

Huh we're talking about an album that I wish I would have talked about sooner so that this came out before I was doing

album reviews before I was even doing YouTube in general

My channel was around but I wasn't doing videos and this is one of my favorite deathcore albums of all time

And it's an album that I'm very surprised. I haven't talked about and that is this album right here. Uh,

Let's see. Is it gonna let me there it is

Slow death by carnufex. Um, I

Can sum up this album very well

So if you go into this album and you are a fan of this type of music

You should expect very heavy

riff egde very heavy breakdowns

very aggressive vocals carnufex

Does it like they're one of the best to do it valent mayas my favorite deathcore band

but

they carnufex just does wonders for the genre and I am so

Hyped for whenever they decide to release a new album

They're consistent and their lyricism is very self-deprecating that's kind of

one of their things is they talk a lot about like self hate a lot of things of like depression that type of stuff and

It's not the type of stuff you would expect from this type of music

But it's some very just introspective lyrics that I enjoy I think that done in this style

it's very emotional and I feel like it's even bolstered higher for the fact that they

combined this type of lyricism in their plane with these

epic orchestral type of pieces not really or but these epic pieces that make this

environment that just cocoons this music with these

Chords that just sound epic they sound like some sort of chamber music and then usually they'll build up with that type of chamber music

Sound and then it'll just like smash you right into

The music especially unlike the first track. I mean on what's a dark heart ceremony?

I mean, I'm just looking at these songs and there's so many that just go from this epic feel to

just

Busting type of music that's the best way I can put it

you have

The first track which starts off with this very slowly building up almost haunting but kind like a ceremony almost like a funeral

just this slowly building up sorrowful type of

epic feel and you just know something's gonna happen and you it's haunting and there's such atmosphere and it's

Minimalistic, they don't have to do much to make that atmosphere happen and you feel it building up. You hear it building up and

then it just pushes you into the track and that's what you get for a lot of these tracks and

For that I commend them highly the mixing. It's really great for a death. Chorale. Whoever did the mix did a wonderful job and

Carnufex is just a consistent deathcore band and whereas there are some good death core bands that have come out recently

slaughter to prevail comes to mind but

There's just you can't really beat the classics unless you're suicide silence and make the self-titled album, which I still have

hope that they can bounce back from that or Whitechapel or I mean some of them are but

So many of the classics just continue to put out great material and I love them for it and carnufex. Did it great

I'm hitting a barrier with this album like it's hard for me to explain it. I really suggest

Just going and listening to it yourself. Look up carnufex slow death. I'm like Spotify or YouTube

Try to see if you can find it. I'm not sure where you can find it

I have it on CD form. So I listen to it that way on my stereo so over there so you're probably seen it

But yeah, I give this I'm a perfect 10 out of 10 because there's not much I can find wrong with it

maybe the fact that sometimes it blends together because it's deathcore but at the same time you get the

Passages that are epic and it really sets them apart and for that they're good

and it gets a pass pretty much every single time if it sounds even remotely similar which they do find a lot of ways to

Change up the sound

Anyways, guys, I want to hear what you thought of this album like comment subscribe

I'll shout your channel out and the N screen you can find my previous video as well as a subscribe button

And I'll talk to you guys next time but until then I'm signing off

My name is J Morris, or you got em sign up saying fare. Well

Review Coolors | Crea paletas de color fácil y rápido - Duration: 4:36.

Hi guys, welcome back to my channel

Today I want to share with you this cute tool

named

Coolors

and it's basically to make colour palettes.

I liked it because it's really simple.

Here you'll find a small tutorial

of how to use it.

You can adjust some

basic settings. That I haven't tried.

But this is the tool I liked the most

because with this tool you can pick a picture

and choose the colour palette.

You can even choose an image

in any other page, and I'll choose...

this art of Berie

who is one of my characters...

I'm gonna open it...

to get the direct link

of the .jpg to Coolors.

and from there...

Coolors will generate

a preview image

of the suggested colour palette.

Down there, is an option for

you colour picking.

And from there you can

generate it randomly or choosing one by one

the colours you want.

You only have to select the next colour

and move your mouse to the choosen colour

and so

until you get

the colour palette

you like.

I'm gonna leave this one... like this.

If I liked it, I can click the OK button

Or I can generate a collage.

What this option does is

generate a .png file

that I can check on my downloads.

And it's the same picture

with all the colours and the hexadecimals

so I can use them wherever I want.

So, this is very useful

specially if you have to work

with web design, but I'll press the OK button.

And now my palette is here

in the main section.

I can move the swatches

and organise them.

I can also edit Saturation...

Hue...

Brightness...

and get my colours personalised.

I can also choose if I want it on RGB,

CMYK, etc.

I can also pick the shade,

If I want a lighter

or darker colour. More white or black tint.

In this case

I will leave it a bit darker.

And it's done!

I'm comfortable with it, so

the last option is to save my palette.

I'm gonna choose to save it,

name the... palette... and click Save.

And now it's saved on my palettes.

That's all for today. I hope it's useful.

I think it's a simple and beautiful tool

easy to use

I literally created my account

and started to use it in about 10 minutes

so for those of you who want to draw

or do some character design

and have no clue on how to choose a good colour palette

which is something I still struggle with

this is a very nice tool. I really recommend it.

Thanks for watching and I'll see you soon.

Bye bye!

KDE Neon review: Is it the best KDE distro? - Duration: 10:28.

The latest and greatest of KDE software on a rock-solid base of Ubuntu.

Sounds very promising, isn't it?

I installed KDE Neon on my office computer two months ago and in this video I would like

to share with you my experience and answer the question:

Is it the best KDE distribution?

When KDE Neon was released for the first time, I thought Wow!

This could really become the best KDE distribution

I have finally got a chance to install it on my computer,

test it extensively for two months and share my experience with you.

By the way, if you are new to this channel consider subscribing and I also encourage

all my subscribers to activate the bell notification, so you will never miss any new video.

After using KDE Neon for two months and I can say it is going to stay on my production

machine at work for a while.

Overall, it is a very good distribution.

But it isnot the best KDE distribution.

Let's have a look at its pros and cons.

Let's start with the positive sides of KDE neon.

It is stable.

I have not experienced a single crash.

And believe me I use it heavily every day.

To give you an idea.

My work assumes 4 virtual desktops and many applications open in each of these desktops.

The processor often has to work really hard

performing computations at 100% load in all 12 threads of my processor

I often load almost all 32 GB of RAM.

And this computer with KDE Neon works 24 by 7 with a reboot maybe once per week.

So, you can rely on KDE Neon to do a lot of work.

It based on Ubuntu.

Whether you like it or not, Ubuntu has become a standard as a Linux OS.

Many developers first create a deb packages specifically for Ubuntu

and later for other distros.

There are many third party repositories created for Ubuntu specifically

Also, if you have a problem, it is way easier to find a solution for Ubuntu than any other distribution.

So, you can install any Ubuntu package in KDE Neon and if you have difficulties installing

a program, you are also will be able to find a solution relatively quickly.

I use KDE Neon for work, so Ubuntu base was a must for me.

It comes clean.

KDE Neon comes with no applications per-installed

except these applications you can see in the menu now

This may be a negative side for new users,

but it was a really positive side for me.

I prefer to have a clean desktop with minimum packages, so I can install only what I need.

These are the graphical programs I installed

There are also some command line programs I installed in addition to these,

but I cannot recall them all.

KDE Neon has a recent Plasma 5 desktop.

If you are my long term subscriber, you already know I am a big fun of KDE.

Plasma 5 is the most powerful and productive desktop for me.

I used to run LM 17 with KDE 4 desktop at work,

but when I installed Arch Linux with the latest Plasma 5 on my home computer.

it was little uncomfortable to look at KDE 4 when I knew there was Plasma 5.

So, having a recent version of Plasma 5 on a solid base of Ubuntu is a perfect set up for a working machine.

During the last two months KDE Neon upgraded their Plasma 5 desktop several times.

It is Plasma 5.13.3 on KDE Neon User edition at the moment of recording this review.

Which is the same version as Plasma desktop as on my home computer with Arch Linux.

So you can have quite a recent version of plasma 5 desktop

If you want to be on the bleeding edge of Plasma desktop

but you don't want to install Arch Linux,

you can also install KDE Neon Developer edition.

However, I can say KDE Neon User edition is also updated regularly and the difference

when a new version of Plasma comes to Arch and KDE Neon User Edition is not that big.

Maybe a few weeks.

So, the whole concept of latest and greatest of KDE software on a rock-solid base of Ubuntu

is the most appealing feature of KDE Neon.

That's all I wanted to say in terms of pros.

Now, lets have a look at some cons.

It is not a distribution for new users.

You need some experience to run KDE Neon.

There are almost no pre-installed applications.

You have to install everything you need.

Of course, it can be both pros and cons.

But I think some new users may have difficulties finding and installing programs they need.

Software Center is still not good enough.

This is related to the previous point.

New user will most likely use the Software Center to install programs and to update their system.

From my experience, it doesn't work really well.

The Software Center doesn't crash, which is good.

But it is very-very slow regardless whether you install programs or update your system.

For me it is ok, I mostly use Synaptic package manager to install programs

and I update through the command line.

But it may be a problem for those who want to use the Software Center exclusively.

Confusion between the package manager pkcon and apt.

KDE Neon recommends using pkcon as a command line package manager.

This is different from Ubuntu package manager apt, which is also present in KDE Neon.

Most user will assume they can use apt because KDE Neon is based on Ubuntu,

but KDE Neon recommends using pkcon.

I found this information accidentally on the KDE Neon website.

It says that pkcon is more reliable to handle the updates.

So, I use pkcon to update the system.

It updates the system but its command line interface needs to be polished.

For example, after the updates this line shift happens all the time.

This is not nice.

But to install packages I use a well familiar apt or the synaptic package manager

My understanding is that you need to use pkcon to install updates,

but apt is fine for the rest.

KDE Neon is little outdated in its core.

Because it uses Ubuntu long term support base, the developers need some time after the release

of Ubuntu LTS to port it to KDE neon.

For example, when Iinstalled KDE Neon it was based on on Ubunutu 16.04,

while there was Ubuntu 18.04 already

It is not a serious problem if you don't need the latest kernel, for example.

My computer has very recent processor

It's Intel Core i7-8700 with integrated Intel UHD Graphics

To work correctly, it required the kernel 4.15 or later.

But KDE neon had the kernel 4.13 at that time.

Luckily the kernel 4.15 was in the repositories, and I was able to install it.

Currently, at the moment of recording this video, KDE Neon comes with the kernel 4.15 by default.

But It was not the case when I installed it two months ago.

So, if you need the latest software, you may experience some problems from time to time

I have two more complains about KDE Neon, which I hope will be fixed soon.

Non QT apps have problems with tooltips messages.

I have mentioned this is as a bug in my 7 annoyances of Plasma 5 video.

It is still not fixed.

As you can see in some applications, tooltips are simply not readable.

You can fix it by going to Settings -> colors -> and disable Apply colors to non QT apps.

Now, the tooltips are shown normally.

It is still supsurprising to see this problem in KDE neon.

I have seen other distributions fixed this problem.

Bug in favorite apps.

I was not able to remove some of my favorite apps in the KDE menu.

Normally, you can also remove some of these apps and add you own.

The problem was that after reboot or logout, some removed favorite apps came back.

In my case, Kate was showing up again and again after I removed it.

I fixed that problem by removing these files

I logged out, logged in, and set my favorite apps again.

After these steps everything worked fine.

It's not a big bug but I still think it was worth mentioning.

To conclude, KDE Neon is a great distribution if you like Plasma 5 desktop and Ubuntu base,

but you need to spend quite some time to set up and configure it.

Not as much time as you would spend installing and configuring Arch Linux,

but still sufficient amount of time.

Unfortunately, KDE is not the best KDE distribution

Actually, I would say there is no the best KDE distribution at the moment.

If you need something sort of install and start working, try Kubuntu.

It is a more user-friendly than KDE Neon, but it also not perfect.

Whenever I try Kubuntu I always find obvious bugs in it.

You can also install Linux Mint 18 KDE,

it has little older Plasma version but it is Plasma 5 and

the it is supported until 2021.

It is better than KDE Neon and Kubuntu in terms of user-friendliness and stability

But it has an older version of Plasma 5.

I may make a video comparing all these KDE distributions, but for now,

what is you favorite KDE distribution and why?

Please, leave a comment below

and thank you for watching.

Top 5 Best Camera Straps (NEW 2018) - My Honest Review - Duration: 6:06.

what's up Max here with Homethods in this video I will review the best camera

straps in 2018 hope you enjoyed the video make sure to LIKE and subscribe

let's go so for the best overall camera strap I went with black rabbit breed and

it goes for about 6 to 7 dollars right now on Amazon Prime and it's rated 4.5

out of 5 by about 50 reviewers and what's really cool about this camera

strap is that it's adjustable from 35 inches to 6 to 5 point 8 inches it has a

curved moisture-wicking shoulder pad which feels great and it even has a

stabilizing strap what I don't like about this one is that it's only made

for right-hand views so that's definitely something to be aware of if

your left hand another downside is that it is quite expensive but overall you

get a really good camera strap for the money with a black rabbit wreath so

definitely check it out on Amazon links down below

number two the best wrist strap I went with a Joby camera wrist strap and it

goes for about 15 dollars right now on Amazon Prime in it is rated 4.5 out of 5

by about 500 reviewers and what's really cool about this strap is that it has a

very sturdy construction it is adjustable and it is quite expensive

which is always nice what I don't like is that if you have bigger hands larger

hands this won't work too well for you so that's definitely something to be

aware of but overall if you're looking for a with wrist strap definitely check

this one out from Joby links down below if you're looking for a hand strap I'm

recommending this spider camera holster spider pro hand strap and it goes for

about 65 dollars right now on Amazon Prime and it is rated 4.5 out of 5 by

about 150 reviewers and this one is made out of leather and it has some

comfortable foam padding on it as well so it it is a very comfortable hand

strap it has adjustable fit and it is compatible with a tripod and screw

mounts another cool thing about spider holster

Brande is that they have some great customer service so yeah that's big plus

what I don't like is that it is quite expensive and it's not compatible with

all camera brands out there so definitely check out if this one works

for your camera if you're interested links down below to Amazon ssuch number

for the best neck strap I went with the Erie fo kind neck and it goes for about

eight dollars right now on Amazon Prime and it's rated 4.5 out of 5 by about 150

reviewers and what I love about this neck strap is that it's made of a very

soft fabric that's very comfortable to wear and it's quite inexpensive as well

at only $8 what I don't like is that the connectors can be a little bit weak if

you have a big heavy DSLR so that's definitely something to be aware of but

overall if you're looking for a neck strap spend $8 on Amazon and you will

get a very comfortable good looking strap number five the best harness strap

I went with the USA gear and it goes for about 15 dollars right now on Amazon

Prime and it's rated 4.5 out of 5 by about 100 reviewers I was really cool

about this strap is that you have quick-release buckles and you also get a

built-in storage pockets on it so that's awesome the only downside with this one

is that the strap may be too short for shooting video but if you're just

looking for a really good harness strap check out the USA gear for $15 on Amazon

links down below number six the best scarf strap I went with a life made

scarf and it goes for about ten dollars right now on Amazon Prime and it is also

rated 4.5 out of 5 by about 170 reviewers I was really cool about this

option is that it doesn't look like a camera strap and they have over 30

patterns and colors that you can choose from on Amazon so definitely check that

out you can either wear this one around the neck or even around the body as well

it is very adjustable and it is quite inexpensive as well which is awesome so

yeah if you're looking for a scarf strap definitely check this one out from life

mate on Amazon if you're looking for something retro leather strap for

example I went with a be still leather camera strap and it goes for about 23

dollars right now on Amazon Prime and it is rated for

five by about hundred reviewers and what's really cool about this one is

that it's made 100% out of leather it has long adjustable straps it has

vintage bronze accents it has quick release buckles and it is very durable

some things to be aware of is that it's made of very stiff leather and the

camera strap may be too narrow for heavy cameras so overall it's a really cool

looking leather strap if it's something that you're looking for links down below

in that description that would be all of the straps on this list if you want to

learn some more about what to think about when buying yourself a new camera

strap we have a complete buyer's guide on HoMedics comm I have linked to this

article down below and we pretty much cover everything that you need to know

from AAC before making yourself a buyer's decision so definitely check

Phillips Hue Outdoor Lily Smart Lights: Honest Review - Duration: 4:28.

Today we will be reviewing the Phillips Hue Smart outdoor landscape lights.

These are the first smart outdoor lights I have seen enter the market and I am excited to

test them out.

The starter set includes 3 of the spotlights, it does not include the phillips hub 2, it

needs to be purchased separately if you do not have one, but it includes all of the accessories to get going.

So here are the lily spotlights, they have a solid base, which can be removed, depending

upon where you want to install them, if you unscrew them you can attach the stake attachment.

This allows you to put them into soil or grass.

Here is a tip for you before you install your lights in your yard, plug them in.

Set them as close to the bridge as possible and run the firmware update.

I had serious connection issues when I installed them all in my back yard.

It took me hours and had to move them, just learn my lesson and update them ahead of time

before installing, it will save you a lot of time.

The phillips hue bridge, needs to be within 30 feet of the first outdoor light, after

that each light can communicate from 60 feet, and my case I wanted them in my backyard.

I needed to purchase a additional hue light bulb for my garage for the lights to communicate

properly.

Once you place the lights where you want them.

It's time to wire them up.

It is really easy to wire them up.

Basically on the vertical of the T is where the lights connect to.

In the side is the extension cable connect to the following adapter in the final light.

You want to make sure to screw it in completely so no water get's in.

Once your all connected you can plug into a GFCI outlet.

They suggest you mount it this power supply about a foot above the ground.

So here you can see I have them on at night.

They are really bright.

The white is very bright.

Now I am going to cycle through the built-in scenes Hue has.

As you can see the colors are relatively, I would say muted.

And not as saturated as the indoor versions, but still it's nice.

Some of the scenes are relatively dark for the outdoor experience.

I am guessing the compromise in color is because of the brightness of the white.

The green and blue seem like the most saturated colors I could see.

Purple as well, it's a good color.

Here I am using the iLight Show for Phillips Hue App.

That allows you to customize the animations with music.

Overall I am super happy with these outdoor smart lights from Hue.

It is one of the first on the market and I think they have really nailed it.

They are simple, low voltage, easy to install, and they work.

Although the color options are a tad muted and less saturated vs their indoor versions

but I really enjoy them.

It adds a perfect touch to your backyard and can't wait to use them also during the holidays

and parties.

So thank you very much for watching and please subscribe if you would like more real honest

reviews for technology products.

The Dragon Prince Teaser Review | JudgeSama review #1 - Duration: 3:18.

Hello Youtube its JudgesSama (no shit) and I'm here making... well more like my opinion on what

the new series the this series is important to me because the creator or

writer of avatar the last airbender OwO is currently working on this series called

the dragon prince and you know I just want to give my opinion out on this "Your opinion doesn't matter" and

I kind of want to start content on my channel like reviewing things like this

because you know I want to change the content on my channel to a different one (Lol, stick with dbd..jk)

I thought this would be a good start, anyways for this series I have many

opinions on it and I I just gotta give one thing at first I was very excited

for this series like really excited and then when the teaser came out it's just

kind of ruined everything for me when it was like CG or 3d I don't know ... (Rip boner)

don't know whatever it is it was kind of heartbreaking but you know I can't judge (Yes you can, you're JudgeSama)

because it's just a teaser only and you know you want to wait for the trailer to

come out wait what is that thing is it is that

supposed to be like a small version of Appa come and wait for the series before (It's a rip off Appa from ATLA UwU)

you can judge anything I mean think it looks good but before I start this

that's pretty much what I wanted to tell you yeah oh yeah and another when I

think I was watching this trailer I was like okay the 3d yeah yeah and I'm sorry

not trailer but teaser I was watching it in the frames per second on it it

was pretty bad I mean I could like probably launch Grand Theft Auto on my

very crap laptop and I bet you it would run better than the as long as the show

fixes the FPS on it I think it would be great so in 2005 the animation for

Avatar The Last Airbender was really good and honestly if I I thought that if

they kept the same animation they did and now to create this show I think it

would have still been perfect you know the animation from Avatar The Last

Airbender is still top-notch and I think it's still better than the animations

you see nowadays on cartoons in like you know Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon but

yeah that's pretty much what I'm thinking right now alright guys I hope

you enjoyed this video of my opinion on the new series

if you guys want me to do more of the stuff just leave a comment below what I

can review next I mean I can practically review anything I can even review a

banana **Cough review Natsuki's ass** if you guys want me to I'll do anything so just leave in the comment

section I'll think about it or where whatever gets the most likes and I'll

think about it I hope you guys enjoyed this video guys and peace out

Hello my dearest and welcome to my chanel

For the people that they don t know me, my name is Gabriela David

Today I will make a review from....Makeup Revolution!

Makeup Revolution Fortune Favours The Brave

There are 30 eye shadows

This is the box

Let s open the box

The box is super cute

Inside it has a mirror

And a plastic were it put the name of the eye shadows

It have one small double brush

It cost....I buy from internet, from my country

Who don t know, I m from Rumania

I paid 15 eur

Really I liked, the box is super cute, the design..

So let s see how I start...

Let s make a makeup

I will start with this eyeshadow

In all the eyelid

I already apply a foundation from Dermacol, n 207

That the Tutorial...I don t know if I will put the tutorial before this or after

Is a review from Dermacol

A foundation that is super

Covered all

The first transition eye shadow it will be that

Like always we shake the brush

The second eye shadow

So the second eye shadow named Koffeine Fixed

We apply in the eyelid secket

O sh-t is so intense

I will need do blend a LOT!!!

Now I will use the other brush and I will blend

The truth is that it blended ok ...the colors

So my dearest, the third eye shadow it named Drama Queen

The corner of the eyelid to the inside the eye

And now I will take this brush

And now again with the first brush to blend the colors

The truth that is not sow WOW this pallete

I don t like so much this colors that I used...but...

Let s apply a little bit corrector

I will use corrector from E.L.F

I will apply 2 eye shadows

This one...

The first

By the way, I like this eye shadow

And this eye shadow, pink tone

In the middle of the eyelid

And now I will apply a little bit...

I apply this white eye shadow to give more brightness of the eye

Because I don t like so much how do I look with this type of makeup

And in the corner I will apply a little bit this

So let s go with the other part

The first eye shadow that will use in the eyelid

The second eye shadow

The third eye shadow

And I will go a little bit up

To give more intensity to the eye

So that are not good colors that fit me

Let put the false eye lashes, because I see myself horrible

I will blend a little bit

I will take the first brush that I use

I use use a eye liner waterproof from L oreal

Inside the eye

I will continue with a eye liner from Dior because

The other I does not like to much how it look

That I finish with the eye liner I will apply other eyeshadow

To give more intensity at the eye

With this tone

And i will use this brush

We use a blending brush

And we blend very soft

We continue with this creamy white eye shadow

So I will apply the false eye lashes and I come back!

So to illuminate I will use this pink tone and that tone

That I don t like to be not too much pink , not too much white

A little bit ...

I will apply Rimmel from Miss Sporty The Miaww my favorite

So my dearest, I finish with the makeup

I hope you enjoy my tutorial

And don t forget to Subscribe, Share & Comment

The Mars Room | Review | Man Booker 2018 - Duration: 8:35.

You might be able to hear some rain and/or thunder in the background, but

we're just gonna call it atmosphere: atmosphere! Welcome to an atmospheric

video. Hi, my name's Matthew, and I read a book.

The Mars Room by Rachel Kushner is the second book I have now read off of the

Man Booker longlist for 2018, and this one I really enjoyed. The way that I've

been describing this book to people is: it's the TV version of Orange Is The New

Black...minus the "endearing" hijinks. So, it's like a gritty, female prison story. And I

do know that this book has been getting a lot of mixed reviews. I think one of

the main reasons why that might be, is because it's not a pretty book. It's not

an endearing book with hijinks. It's not something that features pleasant

characters, or nice situations, positive language, anything like that. This is a

tough book with unpretty characters--with characters who are angry and depressed

and criminals, and it's also very stream-of-consciousness, and you get to

see the deeply embedded psychological problems that so many of these people

have. So it's not exactly palatable, but for me I took a lot of joy in that.

So this book takes place in 2003, which I think that time period is actually quite

important to the setting of this text. I think

people forget that while 2003 was not that long ago, culturally--socially--the

world was so different. And that's like me, as a stupid young millennial, saying

that, so it has some weight. Romy Hall, our main character and point person for this

text, is sentenced twice to life in prison.

We're also deep in the Central Valley of California. Prior to her sentence, she was

working at The Mars Room, which is the name of a strip club--also the name of

the book. I really like that as the name of this book, and I'll talk about that in

a little bit. One of her frequent customers became a little all too

frequent, turned into stalking, turned into her life at risk. Or at least Romy

felt that her life was at risk, and you as a reader will travel that thought

process along the entire text, and decide for yourself. But you can guess what

probably happens, because she's sentenced twice to life in prison. She's also

separated from her son, Jackson, and does not know what's happened to him. I really

liked this book. I found this book utterly riveting. I found it to be so

entertaining. I needed to know what happened, but also this was a very quiet

novel at the same time. This book met at a crossroads where we get this very

contemporary, raw (I hate that word but you know what I mean when I say it) raw

writing, matched with the delicacy of literary fiction. This isn't like an

angry, in-your-face sort of text. This is something that does move quite slowly,

but with the mental veracity of a depressed and anxious and angry

convicted woman. Something about the writing style that I super love: it's this

very stream of consciousness. Rachel Kushner will actually pause at a word,

and then go off on a tangent from that word. So she'll hit a word, repeat that

word, and then go off to describe something completely different from what

the main narration is talking about. And that's very much the way that humans

think. I found that style to be so propelling and exciting--that we got to

go so deeply into the minds of each character of this text. So it's not

exactly stream-of-consciousness in the traditional way that we see it. It's

actually a stream of consciousness--it's actually the way that our brains pivot

and turn based on words that we come up with ourselves. It was a very refreshing

voice. It was very nice. It kind of reminded me of Marlena by Julie Bunton,

but without the like MFA feels to it. This was a little bit more seasoned, a

little bit more mature. I will also say that I did listen to the audiobook of

this one as well. Rachel Kushner reads it herself and she does a damn good job. She

knows what she writes, and I think that's another reason why I may had

appreciated this book as much as I did. Harkening back to why I love the title

of this book so much "The Mars Room" implies an isolated space that is on

another planet, or at least to me, that does. We get "Mars" "room" and when you think

of Mars it's desolate, it's uncharted territory, it's exciting, you think of

isolation, you think of existing on another planet, and in so many ways the

characters in this book do. The prison system is its own

universe, and this book does a really good job of explaining and describing

that: how these people live in an alternate way from the outside world.

Through this perspective, we do get some very harsh critiques of the prison

system, and I did really appreciate that distributed throughout the text. We also

get hints at what the prison system will become in the future from 2003, so

there's a lot of commentary at play here. I also think that this book did a very

good job of opening up the conversation that to be able to identify and self

discover can be a privilege. There is a certain amount of privilege to be

educated enough to be able to craft vocabulary to describe yourself and

other people. What I mean by this, is that a critique of this book is that the main

character and a lot of the characters throughout the books don't use PC

language and don't really refer to each other in a way that would be acceptable

today. And I understand where that complaint comes from, because I often

experience this when I read, like, older texts, is while yes, I understand that

we're dealing with a certain time, but that doesn't necessarily mean I want to read

those things. But this book I found different because I thought it offered

commentary on this idea that there is a certain amount of privilege to be able

to refer to people with the correct labels and names. There's a scene in the

book that I really appreciated where a character refers to another person with

a slur, a particular slur, and Romy, the main character reflects on this, saying

that the person who used the slur had been in prison so long that she didn't

even know that that slur wasn't really a thing anymore.

People weren't using it. Also if you think about the vast amount of social

change that has happened between 2003 and now, which is immense, a lot of the

characters using these terms and thinking the way that they do isn't

unrealistic. Now obviously, I am not a member of all of the communities that

are expressed in this book, so I am not your proper sensitivity reader for this

text. However, I do think that there is a justification, and a certain amount of

realism and the usage of a lot of the terms, phrases, and thought processes of

these main characters. They're problematic. They're literally in prison.

they all killed someone. To be hung up on whether or not they've gendered a

character correctly or referred to them in a PC way, dilutes the fact that these

characters have committed serious, heinous crimes. Because when you're in

prison for life, because you've killed your stalker, and you've spent the

majority of your life stripping to make money, and you've lost your son, and don't

know what's going to happen to him, and you never will find out, I don't think

your main concern is making other people feel comfortable and happy. And this is

my opinion but I don't think Rachel Kushner is speaking through the voices

of these characters I think she is just crafting a very realistic setting: 2003

women's prison. PEOPLE HAVE FLAWS. I'll get off my soapbox. I really like this

book. I'm also very surprised that it made the longlist. I don't necessarily

know why it's on the Man Booker list. It's so unlike so many things that

generally make the list. This is not your Irish countryside reflective novel, this

is not something that is like, palatable or pretty in any way. Not that every book

that's been nominated has been, but, like, this I think pushes the limits of how we

view literary fiction as opposed to sensational stories. I don't know if that

makes sense. I will say that upon the completion of this book I was utterly

satisfied. I had my opinions completely made up

with how I felt about every single character, every single situation. I found

that to be nice. We weren't stuck with some odd, wistful literary ending, and I

ended up writing this book four out of five stars.

I highly encourage people to pick it up. It's a good, gritty, fast-paced novel. It's

not pretty. It's gonna make you uncomfortable, and for that I love it. So

if you have any questions, thoughts, comments, opinions, or beliefs about this

book, put those down below. Discuss it with me. Have you read it yet? Are you

going to? Are you excited about it? I would be very surprised if this book

made the shortlist, but I would also be extremely delighted if it did. So

otherwise, thank you so much for watching, and I hope to see you soon!

Kansas City Week in Review - July 27, 2018 - Duration: 26:59.

coming up the president in town I'm honored to be here today

in Kansas city Missouri a week after a major tragedy a push

for action KU back in the headlines courtesy of our

nation's Attorney General some schools are doing everything

they can to create a generation of sanctimonious sensitive

supercilious snowflakes and in overland park from viral

sensation to scandal all in the same week

week in review is made possible through the generous support of

Dave and Jamie Cummings Bob and Marlese Gourley Smithfield

foods Haas and Wilkerson insurance the Courtney S.

Turner charitable trust John H. Mize and bank of America N.

A. co trustees and by viewers like

you thank you welcome everyone I'm Nick

Haines good to have your company as we connect the dots

on the news of the week in this place we call home reviewing a

week's top local happenings from 41action news

anchor and reporter Dia wall and from the fox fall morning

news team anchor mark Alford he keeps you up to date on KCUR

Kansas city star editorialist Steve Kraske and star columnist

and editorial writer Dave Helling it's not often the

president comes to your town if you weren't there here's a

compilation of some of the sights and sounds of Mr trump's

trip to KC I'm honored to be here today in Kansas city

Missouri it was amazing he was really nice

and Kind it was really cool he shook my hand and I'm never watching

it again we're now in the midst of a

great economic revival we've created

three point seven million jobs since election

employment has reached the lowest levels ever recorded

yeah he is especially impressed me about his

things he's doing with the veterans administration I'm a

member of the VFW and I don't feel that he represents the

interests of us as a group or Americans in general don't

believe the crap you see from these people the fake news

if he if he can you hear what he said after tonight satisfied

he is so volatile in the way he speaks and the way he tweets I

think he needs reinforcements in Washington DC

well I'm glad these people are here but there should be lots more

hope that you will allow me to bring

my family into the oval office to meet you a snapshot of images and voices

for the president's visit to Kansas city this week Dia you

clocked in fourteen hours of reporting on Tuesday when

the president came to town anything unanticipated

unexpected for you from that visit I feel like the speech is

the same that we hear from president trump often same

talking points same high notes same low points

yelling at the fake media that was interesting I mean you

could feel the aggression and the tension in the room just

rise I was really glad that the VFW though said Hey we want

these people here were happy to have them that means a lot

because for me and my colleagues across the table

that's really important but I A. you got to see a a clip of

sergeant Allen Jones talk about making it count not too many

people can steal the show from the president mark that was

impressive to see this what is ninety five years ninety four

talk about the art of the deal this guy steps up and puts the president of

the United States on the spot saying I want to come to the

White House the oval office and he gets it done anything you

learned from this visit by the president this week that we

don't see from him when he goes to countless other rallies and

events no I actually went back and read some transcripts of

president Obama's speeches to the VFW to compare and

there are instances in which president Obama talk about the

economy and his accomplishments so that political part of the

speech wasn't a surprise I was very surprised the Josh Hawley

gave remarks and we'll talk about that a little bit but

typically speeches to the VFW are supposed to be at least

nominally bi partisan or non partisan and his speech

surprised me a little bit him coming up other than that no I

was stays so the president went to the veterans of foreign wars

convention he did a fundraiser for Josh Hawley were there

any other stops the we don't know about at this point

I think we saw him that that's what we got yeah now was there

any there was some conversation about you saw some of the news

accounts relating to him being told that step being turned

down and Arthur Bryant's BBQ Dia now this is one instance

where I will say fake news he wasn't not turned away from Arthur Bryants

and what's funny is when we were preparing for the

president's visit we said maybe we should go to some the

other spots around town other presidents have visited the

president trump isn't that kind of guy he's not gonna go grab a

beer or go sit down have barbecue someplace like W.

or maybe Obama so actually came in town did the VFW did the

fund raiser got back on airforce one and head on out

now from the moment he touched County KCI the president appear

to be joined at the hip by Missouri Attorney General Josh

Hawley Hawley is trying to unseat Missouri senator Claire

McCaskill in November how does Mr trump's time in Kansas city

impact that race Steve well it's always impactful I think

when the president of United States weighs in on a race like

this I think one thing you have to think about here is you know

Donald Trump one Missouri by nineteen points the more recent

polls I've seen about where he stands in Missouri Nick he's

favored by about five percent more people then he's not favor

by in Missouri that suggests his standing has dropped maybe

even precipitously in Missouri over the last year and a half

year so that trajectory continues you wonder about how

Josh Hawley will do being so closely tied to president Josh

Hawley it's all in now with Donald Trump Nick just quickly

arm Josh Hawley still has a lingering problem with his

actions during the Eric Greitens affair and there are

Eric Greitens supporters who are still angry at Josh Hawley

of for his statements in his pursuit of the former governor

many Greitens supporters are trump supporters he has to

Hawley has to do something to try to get them back into the

fold because the same election the Donald Trump carried by

nineteen points Missouri Roy blunt one by three points over

Jason Cander in the Donald Trump year so it's a much more fifty

fifty state at the Senate level so I think Josh Hawley

repeated references to Donald Trump our way to get some of

the Eric Greitens people back in the fold he'll need them

because you were doing some extensive reporting on this

this weekend I knew we could being some experts that said

certainly Josh Hawley would get a bump from the president

anytime time a president comes to town Well when the president

has campaigned like in North Dakota some the other places

where he's been kind of campaigning for the Senate

candidates they have seen a bump in the polls I think it's

interesting that he's here before the primaries even

happened I've had people tell me the

head of the Missouri Republican Party says it's probably clear

indicator that the president will be back sometime this fall

to keep campaigning but I also want to point out Josh Hawley

did really well in twenty sixteen he got more votes than

the president he got more votes than Roy blunt but this is

really a toss up race I'm not the expert on that one Claire

McCaskill I think is in serious trouble this time around she

didn't have an Akins consider bail her out for a gaffe

and so Josh Hawley is smooth level he's young he's energetic

he said all the right things we'll see if that translates to

votes now over the weekend one by the way I should point

out you know we had what was happening with Kevin Yoder

during this visit we did see for instance I was told that he

was actually on the plane yes out with the president when he

came to Kansas city but we didn't seem to see him in any

of the videography the photographs with the president

right Nick that is not by chance that you didn't see

Kevin Yoder here Kevin you Yoder is running for reelection

and district that Hillary Clinton actually carried by a

single point not very much but actually carried Yoder has

to really thread a needle here when it comes to his

relationship with Donald Trump in a very difficult reelection

race that he faces this year Now over the weekend one of Yoder's

opponents was bringing in top political names of his own Thnak you Kansas City

it is with that faith that we will knock on every door in

this congressional district to win back the house

these scenes over the weekend Bernie Sanders and one of the

democratic party's brightest new stars campaigning for Brent

welder at the at the Reardon Center in Kansas city Kansas

welder is one of six Democrats trying to unseat

Kevin Yoder in that race not to be outdone though Yoder takes

to national TV a we want this this fight we think that Bernie

Sanders Ocasio-Cortez wing of the Democratic Party

which is taking over is not going to be of a party that is

going to appeal to middle of the road voters so you think their message and

their presence takes the party further to the left yeah surely

does there in the middle of a big primary right now they've

got a lot of progressive voters in the Democratic Party

the center is open and I think they're going to leave it

behind we're gonna catch a lot of those middle of the road voters is

he right Dave Helling well the idea that Kevin Yoder

is somehow some kind of centrist will certainly be

challenge no matter who the democratic nominee ends

up being in the third district we've been meeting with the

candidates at the editorial board and they all make the

point that Kevin Yoder is far too aligned with Donald Trump his

voting record is much more conservative than he lets on

that'll be the battleground really in the third district

race who can occupy that Center which is by the way white Kevin

Yoder is so visible on immigration over the last

couple of days because he wants to emphasize this move to the

center that's where the battle ground really is I think as a point of contrast

that Dave when you compare what Yoder stands for and how it

delivers himself compared to miss Cortez it's a drastic

drastic difference in when you consider Dennis Moore once held

the scene I mean he was pretty much down the Center you if

you're Republican a lot of Republicans vote for him right

but just my point is Kevin Yoder isn't right down the

Center either and that people need to keep in mind yeah Democrats have their

own big decision to make here Nick if they go with candidates

endorsed by Bernie Sanders is the Kansas third congressional

district can be amenable to a candidate who hails from the

far left of the Democratic Party perhaps the answer is yes

like why if they nominate a moderate cannot moderate gin up

liberal voters from that wing of the party okay last week's

tragedy on table rock lake is now prompting action Missouri US

senator Claire McCaskill announcing on Capitol Hill that

she will introduce legislation to restrict duck boats there's

inherent dangers in these amphibious vehicles and we know this how

do we know this because it's been investigated before we had

forty deaths associated with the dock boats since nineteen

ninety nine yet there has been little done

to address the inherent dangers of these amphibious vehicles

so what is Claire McCaskill proposing Dia one is very

loose it's in the early stages but she's talking about the

canopies that are over these duck boats and how they can trap

people inside even if you do have for example like a life

jacket on you'll just flow and be trapped at the top right

under that canopy if you're under a lot of water and under

that pressure it's tough because it is still early the

investigation we've been told could take a year upward of

that Roy Blunt has already come out and said this little bit

too early let's let some more these facts come in before we make a decision I

thought it was interesting because she has focused on the

design of these boats the canopies as you mentioned but

there's hope effort to saying we need to have anybody who is

on a book like that to wear a life jacket that wasn't

included no wasn't the personal flotation device is very

important maybe they should come through Coast Guard

regulations and NTSB

since this is a public venue rules that Ripley

entertainment owns at least down and Branson there's other

corporations that own that but why have a federal law when you

can have regulations in the department that are charged

with overseeing a public transport and boat operations

especially government regulate against any risky activity

the Americans pursue I mean we know for instance that

to there are lots of accidents deaths involving school buses

children die we have we don't require skilled a seat belts on

school buses all passenger trains for that matter the most

part of course not and maybe we should was particularly

discouraging in this case Nick and we're hearing every

politician from every from every stripe saying we've got

to investigate we've got to take a look at this it's

already been looked at the national transportation safety

board took a look at it dean these boats to be on safe and

effective this tragedy occurs in the wake of something like

that is pretty discouraging but just add quickly that the

reason Congress is thinking about stepping in is because

they believe members believe the Coast Guard has not done

its job that was given recommendations by the national

transportation safety board and did not implement them in a

strict enough way to prevent this kind of tragedy from

happening and so that's why I call Kris make step in the

other thing to keep in mind is and I think mark alluded to

this these boats are in places other than table rock lake

there all over the country in various forms arm and so if you

did something dramatic it would affect not just the seven or

eight votes at this particular operation but boats across the

country that makes it a little more complicated but it also

jumbles the jurisdiction if you wanted to ban those votes

tomorrow who would do it there's no that isn't clear

there are lots of unanswered questions I do think Congress

is getting to a place where will Trinian's was not the same

situation though when he came to the for the bone waterpark

correct laws who had the correct exactly same the exact

same problem that people think their amusement parks are safe

and people think they're dock boats are safe because someone

is watching out for them and the fact is that's not true or

not completely true but that's what needs to be addressed and

that also goes to the people that you place an office right

we all say no regulation sounds great until you feel like there

should have been some measures in place to protect you and

your family so I think this will be really interesting to

see how simple because today's point there's a lot of steps in

hopes of people involved project within the next year

though duck votes will be relegated to museums and

history museums as a vessel that invaded on D.

day think I don't think they're

going to be around much life in Detroit newly appointed Jackson

County sheriff Daryl forte claims he inherited an office

in shambles no show employees on the payroll missing weapons

hundreds of sex offenders in the County unaccounted for

because of lax oversight is the picture is bleak as forte pain

so is the new sheriff in town trying to attract attention

just two weeks before voters decide whether they want to

keep him in the job Steve I think this could be a case for

both things are true Nick you one Maximo of politics in this

country is that everything that happens in the weeks leading up

to an election it's all political and voters anger

viewers should be aware of that but so early the the charges

that Daryl forte have leveled here are worth the paying

attention to these are serious substantial far reaching kinds

of accusations here that deserve attention demand

attention that kind of let legislators will have to pay if

need be looking into this mark I have I know all the people

involved in this I've talked to everyone on this week sure

forte says the culture the S. so the sheriff's office allows

wrongdoing including real and perceived criminal activity

that is a strong allegation especially against Mike Sharpe

who's basically said Hey I took this gun home on my holster I

don't really wear it that much I didn't with all the hubbub

going on I didn't really realize that I still had it

I've turned it over now to the fraternal order of police

representative there was no nefarious activity Jeff Jones

who was involved to work for the sheriff see stump fishing

right now on the Arkansas border he said look I was an

assistant for sheriff sharp I worked I can prove that I work

John been doing who's a very respected public

relations person Lee's summit said basically the same thing

if you look at social media I can prove that I worked I can

prove that I earn my pay we've had the impression in this race

little Daryl forte he was the Kansas city Missouri police

chief he's got a big name he he's going to be a shoe in the

fall the sheriff's job when he comes up for reelection just

next week on August seventh but Mike launches who's running

against him actually is doing better even in the fundraising

component of this race Reid Carol forte is a controversial

figure was as Kansas city Missouri's police chief and to

some degree still in the sheriff's office particularly

based on these allegations so we'll have to see what happens

but I should point out Nick and you may know this there is an

ongoing question as to whether the primary will even be

considered to be valid Reid because of the fact that

sheriff sharp resigned after the filing deadline and whether

it was properly re opened for new candidates or whether the

party should be more involved that's being to the Caden maybe

figured out going forward so there are controversy

swirling around this race normally people don't pay much

attention to the sheriff's office on a primary ballot this

time it is getting some attention and by the way next

week we will be going through the entire balance on both

sides of state line the issues and candidates you need to know

about in an entire special week in review edition you know can

you is back in the headlines at it's not for basketball two

weeks after the university was at the center of a national

news story over flying and altered American flag US

Attorney General Jeff sessions singles out the Lawrence school

for coddling students he says after noting the university is

now providing therapy dogs to ease students stress

the blistering attacks you toward universities in general

they had therapy dogs at the university of Kansas them Plato

and coloring books at the great university of Michigan some

schools are doing everything they can to create a generation

of sanctimonious sensitive supercilious snow

now two weeks ago came officials immediately brought

down and altered flag up to political leaders complain all

they now doing away at K. you with the therapy dogs I

don't know they're not in which should be

pointed out that university Kansas doesn't own these dogs

doesn't pay for these dogs private organizations of Rev

provide these dogs is part of you know therapy for students

and as someone who teaches students to at that level of me

just point out to the Attorney General that a lot of students

are working two or three part time jobs carry a full time

load into me just remind him that there's an enormous amount

of stress on these young people and his Starkey attitude toward

them and toward universities certainly aren't appreciated in

this cat and this a quarter slow class

here's the deal children nowadays okay statistics have

proven the children are harming themselves we're in a day and a

were really going to have to confront self care and what

that looks like and I just think it's a little bit

ridiculous I think it's a generational gap though I mean

Jeff sessions comes from an era where I was on the edge of its

like pull yourself up by the bootstraps but Koppu

be a man to some degree but times have changed HYVEE

Sanchez general point I make Reid needs to be a sales out of

hot he is out of touch with what's going on yeah the

relationship between law enforcement and the public has

often been tenuous but scrutiny of police officers and police

departments has never been greater so what are we to make

of one of the local police department's efforts to

reinvent its image have you seen this video now going viral

from the oval and park police department

full six alright people around the world

on a commentator on the singing dancing and shaking can John

takes of OP's offices but modeling basking in the P.

all glory the department is now at the center of controversy

three offices forced to resign amid the ticketing scandal more

than two hundred traffic tickets have now been dismissed

after an internal probe reveals offices issued seatbelt

violation hundreds of drivers when they should've been book

for running red lights and speeding and adding to the

intrigue is at the offices turned off the audio on the

dash cameras when speaking with drivers are we any wise asked

what the motivations of those offices were this week mark I

don't know about their motivations I think that she

did a good thing and taking a swift and decisive action to

dismiss them and this is going to play out they may facing

criminal charges we don't know yet but that to get a single

ticket for not wearing a seatbelt when you're actually

probably wearing a seatbelt that's just not right this was

supposed to be the week though that they were basking in the

glory of what it was that made amazing public relations

exercise three million hits online for that video on is all

about being solely because of the scandal now video still

makes a flap that still makes a smile I think it's indicative

of the fact that you have large police departments police

officers are people just like they are right you can't

dismiss educators as a whole because of a bad teacher here

or there but I think that what's interesting the seatbelt

tickets were given out but they were cheaper so it looks like

it may have been a situation where somebody lots of like Hey

let's try to save these people some money but it doesn't look

good at the end of the day I still think the upgrade

Steve yeah I think what's troubling about this incident

Nick and I've done some reporting on it for the

newspaper is that the leadership of overland park

doesn't know what the officers motivations were I think before

they put this thing to bed that probably is a question they

need to get answered here I would only add that Kraske and

I are gonna cut stop in the name of love

landing forty million hits or so in the next couple

Jones what's up next week's program that loss

week we discussed the more than six thousand complaint calls

that have now been logged in Kansas city about not wanting

trash we also examined long long lines to get a driver's

license in Johnson County what in fact the wait was so long

some drivers would being turned away while there are promises

made on both sides state line to change and fix it did that

happen is the trash now being picked up in Kansas city have

the lines disappeared this week in Johnson County ball driver's

license bureau lines have shortened at least based on

some initial reports they Bob they've extended hours opened

on Monday there's or our plans in the works for a third office

which probably should have been opened a decade ago there was a

meeting this week on the trash problem in the Northland Nick

and there were some promises of efforts to improve it but it's

not clear it's working at the most important news out of that

meeting to me was the city manager discussing the

possibility of using city forces rather than privatize

trash collection if that happens that'll be a

fundamental change in the way lots of people in cancer to get

their trial which Dave you probably know that this is the

problem nationwide because the sick people S.

commercial driver's license are few and far between now it's

not easy to get a CDL and you have to pay pass a rigorous

drug test they can't find the drivers to pick up trash death

football boss competing for the WC is competing for them they

bought at town and country others are like stealing

drivers away from other companies to get the trash out

of the way to fix that of course is to pay them more

money which the trash companies don't want to do because

they'll have to raise rates and that will make customers are

rated as well what do you want to get it so I don't want to

pay more correct correct and that's actually the fundamental

political issue facing this community in all communities do

you want to pay what it costs or not to talk about a lot of

different problems in the nation with the beat people

worried about Russia and they can be talking about president

trump immigration you name it A. isn't it means but hits the

road local issues that really rock people though Steve trash

yes that leads people of very very quickly and it needs to

get fixed and fix them while I'm in North lander my trash

wasn't picked up to be part of the news when you report on the

news but it has it has improved okay that's good to know a

Jason update finally on another story we recently featured a

proposed gift banning Kansas city that would block the mayor

and the city council from taking cheap some raw steak

it's free meals and gifts do you think you're all local

elected officials should get things like that well it was

debated this week as a result we find as we all is that the

public doesn't care about the issue or is it that we didn't

think it was valuable way of cleaning up government in the

first parts of the city council members who voted no think that

there isn't a great problem but this trust in government is

huge and I think what we're going to argue this week and if

you don't like what was proposed this week fine come up

with something else because you don't one for office so you can

go see the role on a reduced cost you do it because you want

to pick up the trash in the Northland and to the extent

you're failing at one but getting the tickets on the

other hand you need to look at here's the deal I've been to

the crown called a couple times fortune up to go down there

were some friends it's a it's a great help me a lobster shrimp

you name it and I've seen some city council people down there

and I'm thinking what happened to I kind of know what you make

how did you get down here I'm thinking wall you know it's all

these things are running through my mind did somebody

it's an appearance issue yes one things modeling this issue

at city hall is the fact that one leading candidate for mayor

Scott Taylor is proposing this and other candidates for mayor

who are serving on the council aren't quite ready to give them

a big win here so close to an upcoming mayoral election

I mean I do a great I think it's about a lot of about

appearance but there's also the idea that when people drop down

that's all at good old KCPT do you even I absolutely do not our station went to the Royals this week

who didn't go Nick Haines and they had a free all you can eat buffet

I didn't go that's our Week in Review folks our thanks to our news viewers

keeping you up to date weekdays and eleven on KCUR FM Steve Kraske
