Retro-Looking Jannarelly Design-1 Sports Car Spotted In Public - Duration: 2:08.

Ablack-striped Jannarelly Design-1 roadster was spotted earlier this month in a public parking lot in Dubai, making for a pretty rare sighting, even by local standards

The Design-1 was drawn up by Anthony Jannarelly, who also designed both the Lykan Hypersport and the Fenyr Supersport

On this particular project, Jannarelly worked together with Frederic Juillot (who is the co-founder of the company) to build "a tribute to the '60s for car lovers in search of style, self-customization and performance

" When it was first announced, back in 2015, the Design-1 packed 308 PS (304 HP) and 371 Nm (274 lb-ft) of torque from its Nissan-sourced mid-mounted, naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V6.

The 2018 spec car features the same engine and torque value, but the power output has gone up to 325 horses

Not anything to write home about, but with a weight of just 810 kg (1,785 lbs), it's more than enough

This version can get from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.9seconds instead of 4 seconds flat, while both boast a top speed of 220 km/h (135 mph)

So how much for one of these track toys? The initial asking price was $55,000, although when it first landed in the US, the tag read $84,000, which almost brought it up against the Porsche 911, rather than the Boxster/Cayman duo

The image above was posted to Reddit by AggregateMelons, who deemed it appropriate for the AwesomeCarMods thread

Going Global: Is a Global Public Health Experience Right for You? - Duration: 1:11.

(upbeat music)

- I would tell students that there is something for them.

There are so many different opportunities,

especially through the college here.

It can range from really being in some type of field

and really working or just collaborating and sharing ideas

and even if it has never crossed your mind,

let it cross your mind, just once,

and allow it to get you excited

and find something that maybe you're passionate about

or heighten a passion you already have.

It's so easy here at the college to get funding support

and be prepared and anything

that a student might be worried about, they have answers,

and anything that they may be hesitant about,

they motivate you and really build you up

where you can show up in another country and be confident

and know what you're doing and have a good time

while you're there while also learning,

so that's probably what I would say.

Public Health Annual Review - Duration: 14:52.

hello I'm Dr. Rupert suckling and I'm the Director of Public Health for Doncaster

Council welcome to my annual report for 2018 this year it is a focus on mental

health as mental health is a key to our overall health and well-being by mental

health I mean the combination of feeling good and functioning effectively not

merely the absence of mental illness there are three main contributors to our

mental health our circumstances our personal resources and the activities we

focus our energy on this report focuses on five activities the five ways to

well-being that can create better mental health for ourselves our friends our

families and our communities

so many fantastic groups at Doncaster libraries

for example in regards to IT and digital learning we have a computer basics class

and an iPad and tablet club the computer basics class does exactly what it says

on the tin really it's designed for people who have never touched a computer

and it's run run over three weeks just for an hour and a half a week and the

idea is basically at the end of the third week they've got the confidence

and the knowledge to use a computer either in our library or at home and

that they just feel feel confident about the digital age and the iPad and tablet

group is a bit different in that anyone can come along to the group just to find

out what iPads and tablets are the vast majority people do use it as more of a

troubleshooting kind of session where if they come across issues at home they'll

scrub them down and they'll come to the class and then we'll just discuss them

and try and work through them it also encourages people to to talk amongst

yourselves and share their knowledge that they have because if eight people

come to the class and there's just me on my own I may be with one person for 10

minutes so everyone else starts chatting and they may help each other out we also

facilitate around 60 readers groups in Doncaster some private groups some meet

in libraries and they consist of anywhere between four and around fifteen

members in some groups I'm sure you know the idea of a reader's group but I'll

tell you anyway the group get together they're all given exactly the same book

they go home read it and come back together three or four weeks later to

discuss it which sounds very simple but these groups do offers

much more because everyone learns from each other you can find out how people

interpret different things it's a great way if you like dissecting fiction and

nonfiction but also it's a social group so not only do you talk about the books

and reading you talk about your lives you talk about your holidays and your

family so it's nice just to to come along for a chat and in regards to

reading it's so important now because we know that there are so many health

benefits directly linked to reading yes you'll become smart but more importantly

you'll have reduce stress levels it prevents the onset of outsiders and

dementia and you'll live longer just by reading which is fantastic and

who doesn't want that for the younger children we have lots of

rhyme times across the Borah children come to hear songs and stories which as

well as being fun helps them develop language and literacy skills I also feel

that it's got an important part to play in preparing them for school in that it

teaches them to observe interact sit down and listen to stories and socialize

with other children not only is it put important for the children I think it's

important for the parents and carers as well because the group's kind of become

become social networks for them to like it or not computers encoding are now part of

our daily lives and it's also part of the school curriculum we're giving

children the opportunity to be one step ahead by learning how to code and how to

integrate these skills in their day to day tasks

I volunteer for age UK and getting people ate their house because of the

pace of their mental illness and it makes a big difference to them but it

makes more a difference to me I feel as if I've won the lottery when

I hear those stories after that you know sorry I never done it years ago it's been

such a pleasure you know that my son did encourage me, my son up in

Scotland you get yourself up and get yourself out

and a talk a talk but don't walk the walk but eventually I went into the library

and they were volunteering that staff that started my volunteer career and then I heard about

Age UK volunteer for that was able to take the friends to the library so they're

meeting lots of new friends and it's the easiest job I've ever done but quite

time-consuming if you want to put a lot of time until but it's but it wasn't

advise anybody together a train you don't if you have a lot of time can you

get as little as much as the one if people who you're paired with become

your friends really good friends and they're marvelous really marvelous I

don't know who gets the most they took them or me really its brilliant

in the first few years I show up today created on the garden but there's only

so much you that you can do but when you start volunteering I don't have enough

time I don't even know how I managed to work to be honest because there's

something on every other day if you want to do that if you want to get involved to that level

but you know it's filled my whole day, in fact the family phone up

and say we're were you yesterday and the day before that you think

you think you've got a secret admirer down here so I can only advise

anybody to try it they'll get a lot out of it - they'll get more than the people

befriending and we hope that we give them a lot you know so I would advise anybody to

try it

hi I'm a Andy Maddox and I work for Doncaster Council and I'm working on get

doncaster moving one of our transformational projects for the borough I've just done

one of the simplest things everybody can do every day to become more physically

active and get doncaster moving that's just walk walk places walk

between your jobs stand up and walk we've designed physical activity out of

our lives nowadays we are sedentary people so we don't do enough physical activity and

that means in Doncaster a third of our population is inactive and that's doing

less than 30 minutes physical activity per week and we're here to change that

through get doncaster moving our transformation program the program is

designed across five themes cycling walking sports parks and open spaces and

dance and each one of those is aimed at actually getting Doncaster moving we

aim through cycling to get people more active as a mode of transport and

recreationally so for example we've invested in the TransPennine trail and

that's seen a massive increase in people recreation recycling but also walking in

that beautiful part doncaster we're investing in the cycling circuit in

Doncaster to engage people in a traffic free environment both recreationally

learning to cycle and competitively as we've become in a hotbed of cycling and

that has been shown through as hosting stages of the Tour de Yorkshire and next

year's UCI World Championships we're aiming to deliver dance across all age

groups but we're the focus with young and old because older people we've found

out our engaging dance recreationally within their communities and we see this

a means of actually getting more people active as they get older and also

socially coming together we also looking at parks and open spaces as our green

hearts of our environments and you'll hear a bit more about that but

recreationally these are very important to us as well and finally sport in all

these guises we're looking at investing in our facilities long-term our pictures

impart such as football rugby cricket and also supporting clubs and volunteers

to grow the heart of our sporting population and we need those people

onside to do that how we're going to do this well we're working with our

partners across Doncaster Club Doncaster dclt active fusion

as well as sport England and UK sport and the Yorkshire Sports Foundation as well

push them anymore and collectively together we are driving get Doncaster

moving but why do we need to do this well as I've said a third of our

population is inactive and we have a middle population or active as well by

being physically active we all know it helps us health-wise it reduces heart

disease and stroke certain types of cancer type 2 diabetes it also helps

with depression and mental well-being in addition it also help people be more

aspirations if you're physically active you're more likely to be in employments

and do better in education and therefore it helps our population engage in the

aspirations and docks and the growth that you see around the borough so the

key message is we want to get you as population songster moving to get

doncaster moving and support you in any form whatsoever to do that and hopefully

these programs will get doncaster moving will actually see that growth start

over the past number of years there's been a closer coming together with

Public Health working with green open space over the past year we managed to

secure four green flag state parks which is the highest benchmark we can get for

a public open space it's and we've got a wide variety of

those we've got country part two and we've got rural parts as well as cusworth

hall which is got the hall in itself and it's a real asset to doncaster

places we've got out there and don't cast are absolutely amazing for the

members of the public and for Doncaster that's a great achievement a number of

years ago we didn't have any and now we've got this many and that's something

we're working to will continue to work towards one of the most recent

introductions has been outdoor gym equipment over the past 10 years we've

been slowly introducing these two parks and open spaces and they are proving

popular more and more people start to use them and it's a free asset anyone

can go on use these and it's basically a free gym in any park or open space we do

provide a large number of play facilities but then also within parks

and open spaces we have got just the element of adventure we've got woodlands

we've got country parks and there are urban parks and open spaces if you just

go and explore and enjoy one thing we're trying to do with parks and open spaces

as we look to improve them is incorporate walking maps so people

understand the distance they're walking around parks and open spaces they are

taking X amount of steps as they go around parks calories burn things out

and different walking routes and because of the different types of sites we've

got you'd have to do the same walk every time you can go to a different Park I

have a different experience each time

the well doncaster is an amazing program around Spartan communities around

reducing health inequality and starting to look how we can engage with the

community in a different approach one of the amazing pieces of work that we've

done in communities working with when about one of our partners which is

St Leger Homes and we've done a program called don't be recycling well about

twelve months ago you know whilst visiting our tenants we

decided lot of people people you know suffering from social isolation and

they hadn't really got a lot of furniture to sustain tenancies so working with well

north we decided that when a local property became available instead of

actually throwing all the furniture away we decided that we will try and help out

our new tenants to sustain the tenancies by recycling these bits furniture that

were leftover properties we've been doing a year now and obviously with with

your help people are sustained in their tendencies and the quality of life that

they're now doing it's just a hundred percent better than the wood if we

wouldn't have helped them in the first place so what kind of barriers of the

heart well basically as soon as they say pretending you've got a 17 year old

female male and the first property and I'm really gonna have a lot of furniture

you know the mums might have given some pots and pans and stuff like that but is

the big things it's the white goods we call white goods washing machines and cook

those microwaves kettle toasters they're all really expensive and we PAT test

them and then really we give them back out into the community so it's

sustaining their tendencies and obviously Universal credits come into

force now and we're hoping and it's working quite successfully because we're

helping them buy but not buy but give them the things that the would have

bought and payment which which is brilliant

thank you for watching my 2018 annual report and the focus of this report has

been on mental health and we know it's not just about the absence of mental

illness mental health is much more about life satisfaction it's about happiness

it's about feeling worthwhile and it's about having lower anxiety we know that

there are things that we can do as individuals that will help us maintain

our mental health so by connecting with other people being active giving of our

time taking notice and learning but sometimes we know that that's not enough

so the society that we live in with debt poverty poor quality jobs poor housing

can make that all much harder which is why we as a local authority and as

partners want to sign up to the mental health prevention concordat and through

that we're going to use all our resources to make sure that we've got a

much better approach to mental health so the sorts of things that we'll see is

more emphasis on better jobs better training want to see more work to reduce

debt work with parents and young people as they grow up and work with older

people to prevent loneliness and increase sort of befriending I said it

isn't about services yet suicide is the biggest killer of men under 45 in the UK

today and today 16 people will take their own lives through suicide and

that's why I'm keen that we pledged to be a zero suicide borough and that we

always asked twice when we're talking to people and asking about their mental

health so I hope you enjoyed the report and i

hope you pledge to do more to improve not only your own mental health and that

of your family but the mental well-being of doncaster thank you

Pioneer Valley Data Provides Regional Metrics to the Public | Connecting Point | Jan. 23, 2019 - Duration: 8:47.

>>PIONEER VALLEY DATA IS UP AND RUNNING.

THE WEBSITE IS DESIGNED TO BE A USER-FRIENDING TOOL TO EXAMINE

AND ASSESS A WIDE RANGE OF REGIONAL METRICS ON EDUCATION,

LABOR, EMPLOYMENT, CIVICS AND MORE.

THE INFORMATION DEPARTED BY THE PIONEER VALLEY PLANNING

COMMISSION IS SEARCHABLE, CUSTOMIZABLE AND FREELY

AVAILABLE.

I SPOKE WITH KATIE ZOBEL, PRESIDENT AND CEO OF THE

COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF WESTERN MASSACHUSETTS AND MOLLY

GOREN-WATTS, PRINCIPAL PLANNER OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION ABOUT

THE DETAILS.

>> THE PIONEER PLANNING COMMISSION MANAGES A REGIONAL

CENTER THAT HAS BEEN A HOME FOR COLLECTING DATA FROM A LOT OF

DIFFERENT SOURCES AND HELPING OUR COMMUNITIES, NONPROFITS,

FOUNDATIONS WITH HAVING ACCESS TO DATA ABOUT THE REGION NO ONE

CENTRAL PLACE PEOPLE CALL US FOR DATA, FOR STRATEGIC DEVELOPMENT,

EVALUATION.

AND AS TECHNOLOGY HAS EVOLVED, WE'VE BEEN THINKING A LOT ABOUT

HOW TO MAKE THAT DATA BETTER ACCESSIBLE TO THE PUBLIC AND

GIVE THEM MORE WAYS THEY CAN ACTUALLY MANIPULATE THE DATA AND

LOOK AT THE DATA AND HAVE IT BE USEFUL INFORMATION.

>> SUPER SLICK, VERY USER-FRIENDING WEBSITE, I HAVE

TO SAY AND AS A JOURNALIST, I APPRECIATE HAVING A DATA PORTAL

THAT'S REALLY USER-FRIENDLY BECAUSE AS YOU'RE BOBBLING

AROUND ON CENSUS DATA, SOMETIMES IT'S HARD TO INTERRUPT OR

UNDERSTAND.

ALSO, THE PIE GUY, HE'S SUPER CUTE.

>> WE WERE EXCITED ABOUT THAT IDEA.

>> THAT WAS A FUN PLAY ON PIONEER VALLEY, PIE --

>> PIE CHARTS AND WE'RE DATA GEEKS.

>> ALL SORTS OF NERDY JOKES HERE.

>> EXACTLY, BUT WE WANTED TO MAKE IT FUN AND ACCESSIBLE AND

MAKE IT SEEM ANYBODY CAN USE DATA AND ACCESS THIS AND DO

SOMETHING INTERESTING WITH IT.

>> FOR YOUR PART, THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION, OBVIOUSLY YOU'RE

WORKING WITH A LOT OF DIFFERENT ENTITIES ACROSS THE REGION.

BUT WHAT DID YOU THINK YOU HEARD THE IDEA THE PIONEER PLANNING

COMMISSION WAS LAUNCHING THIS NEW SITE?

>> WE WERE THRILLED TO BE PARTNERS WITH THEM.

WE HAVE BEEN PARTNERS ALONG WITH MANY OTHER FUNDERS ON THE STATE

OF THE PEOPLE REPORT THAT THEY'VE BEEN PUTTING OUT EACH

TIME THE CENSUS DATA WAS AVAILABLE.

AND THAT IS ACTUALLY WHEN IT STARTED, THE FIRST CONVERSATION,

AROUND PRODUCING THIS HUGE REPORT WHICH IS IN A BOOK FORMAT

IN 2011, SOMETHING LIKE THAT, 2012.

AND WE KEPT THINKING, THIS IS TERRIFIC, BUT IT'S NOT

ACCESSIBLE TO EVERYONE IN REAL-TIME WITH UPDATED

INFORMATION AND SO, A NUMBER OF VENDORS WERE GETTING TOGETHER

AND WE WORK IN PARTNERSHIP WITH PVCP ON A NUMBER OF PROJECTS AND

SAID, OK, WE HAVE TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO DO THIS.

IT TOOK A FEW YEARS OF CONVERSATIONS BUT THANKS TO THE

PIONEER PLANNING COMMISSION AND THE OTHERS YOU HAVE BEEN WORKING

WITH PEOPLE PROVIDING AND THINKING ABOUT DATA FOR ALL OF

US.

AS A COMMUNITY FOUNDATION, WE ARE COMMITTED TO THE ENTIRE

VALLEY AND TO THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY.

SO JOURNALISTS, INDIVIDUALS, THE PUBLIC, AS WELL AS THE

NON-FOR-PROFIT SECTOR ALL OF US NEED ACCESS TO DATA.

>> IT'S ALL ONLINE AND FREELY AVAILABLE.

NOT LIKE YOU HAVE TO PAY A SUBSCRIPTION OR HAVE A COUPON

CODE OR A PASSWORD TO ACCESS THE DATA.

YOU JUST GO, BROWSE, GRAB EITHER BY EITHER TOPIC, INFORMATION,

DATA SET.

SO LOTS OF DIFFERENT WAYS YOU CAN LOOK AT THE DATA.

WHERE DID YOU PULL FROM?

I MEAN, I IMAGINE THE CENSUS BUREAU GAVE YOU A LOT OF THE

INFORMATION BUT WHERE ELSE DID YOU PULL FROM?

>> WE GET A LOT OF DATA FROM THE CENSUS BUREAU, THE BUREAU OF

LABOR STATISTICS, STATE EXECUTIVE OFFICES OF DEPARTMENT

OF EDUCATION AND EXECUTIVE OFFICE OF LABOR WORKFORCE

DEVELOPMENT, EPA.

WE ALSO HAVE LOCAL DATA SOURCES THAT WE WORK WITH LOCAL

ORGANIZATIONS TO DEVELOP AND TRACK.

>> SO WHEN YOU RECENTLY ANNOUNCED THIS CONCEPT TO THE

PUBLIC, YOU DID SO IN A FUN WAY, AGAIN, USING THAT PIE, SO PEOPLE

GOT SERVED PIE.

BUT ALSO, YOU HAD A GAME SHOW.

SO I'LL RIP OFF THAT IDEA AND BE COMPLETELY UPFRONT AND PLAY THAT

HERE.

SO I WILL ASK A FEW QUESTIONS AND WE'LL SEE WHAT THE ANSWERS

ARE.

SO ONE OF THE QUESTIONS, WHICH OF THESE COMMUNITIES IN THE

PIONEER VALLEY HAD THE HIGHEST VOTER TURN-OUT RATE IN THE 2016

ELECTION?

REGISTER VOTERS WHO TURNED IN BALLOTS.

WAS IT HADLY, NORTH HAMPTON, LYDEN OR MOUNT GOMEREY.

I KNOW YOU KNOW THAT NOW BUT BEFORE YOU KNEW THE ANSWER, WHAT

DID YOU THINK IT WAS?

>> I THINK MY ANSWER WAS NORTHAMPTON.

I THINK THAT'S WHAT THE WHOLE AUDIENCE WAS SAYING.

I WASN'T PRIVY TO THE ANSWERS BUT I THOUGHT I BET YOU THE

SMALL TOWN ENGAGED WITH A LOT OF PEOPLE.

>> THE ANSWER IS LYDON, ALMOST 88%.

>> THAT'S A GOOD TURN-OUT.

>> SO I THINK THAT'S A GOOD PLACE TO SAY, THE DATA ISN'T

ALWAYS WHAT YOU THINK IT MIGHT BE.

>> EXACTLY.

AND THAT WAS ONE OF POINTS IN HAVING THIS KIND OF GAME SHOW,

TO SHOW THESE AREN'T QUESTIONS THAT YOU SHOULD AUTOMATICALLY

KNOW THE ANSWER TO.

THERE ARE FACTS AND WE DON'T HAVE THEM ALL IN OUR HEAD AND WE

NEED A GOOD RESOURCE TO BE ABLE TO GO FIND THOSE ANSWERS.

>> ALSO AN OPPORTUNITY TO CHALLENGE ASSUMPTIONS THAT EACH

OF US MIGHT HAVE ABOUT A REGION, A PARTICULAR COMMUNITY, ET

CETERA.

OK, LET'S MOVE ON.

ANOTHER QUESTION, WHICH OF THESE COMMUNITIES -- I WANT TO BE A

GAMESHOW HOST -- WHICH OF THESE COMMUNITIES IN THE PIONEER

VALLEY HAD THE HIGHEST PERCENTAGE OF FOREIGN-BORN

RESIDENTS?

WAS IT WEST SPRINGFIELD, SUNDERLAND OR HOLYOKE?

>> THIS IS A GREAT CHALLENGE BECAUSE NOBODY IN THE AUDIENCE

AND NONE OF THE PLAYERS COULD GUESS IT AND I DIDN'T KNOW IT

WAS SUNDERLAND WITH 18%.

>> AGAIN, ONE OF THOSE SMALL COMMUNITIES STANDING OUT.

>> OUT OF 69 CITIES AND TOWNS IN THE REGION, WHO WOULD HAVE

THOUGHT IT WAS SUNDERLAND?

>> THAT WAS NOT MY GUESS.

>> THAT'S WHY WE NEED DATA AND ACCESS TO IT.

ONE OF THE THINGS TO BRING ULTIMATE OUT,

WE'RE LAUNCHING THIS TOGETHER AND THIS IS THE STARTING POINT.

SO ONE EVER THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS TO LET PEOPLE KNOW IS

GOING ON THE SITE AND THEN GIVING US FEEDBACK.

THERE'S ACTUALLY A TOOL ON SITE TO GIVE FEEDBACK SO THAT WE CAN

CONTINUOUSLY IMPROVE AND GATHER THE BEST DATA THAT BE CAN FOR

THIS REGION.

WE NEED THAT ACCESS.

>> AND HOW OFTEN WILL THAT DATA BE UPDATED?

BECAUSE SOME OF IT IS REALLY, REALLY TIMELY DATA.

>> SO RIGHT NOW WE'RE UPDATING ALL OF THAT DATA, BASICALLILY ON

AN ANNUAL BASIS BASED ON THE DATA IN THERE IS ANNUAL DATA.

BUT, YOU KNOW, THERE ARE DIFFERENT UPDATES THAT HAPPEN

THROUGHOUT THE YEAR BASED ON WHERE IT COMES FROM.

SO WE'RE TRYING TO KEEP IT AS FRESH AS IT CAN BE AND THERE IS

CERTAINLY A POSSIBILITY WE MIGHT HAVE QUARTERLY OR MONTHLY DATA

FROM OTHER SOURCES AS WELL.

>> I NOTICED NOSING AROUND ON THE SITE, THERE'S A TERMS OF USE

AN AGREEMENT.

IS THAT BECAUSE WHEN YOU SELECT THAT, WILL PIONEER VALLEY

PLANNING COMMISSION BE TRACKING WHAT IS BEING RESEARCHED SO THAT

YOU KNOW OR HAVE A SENSE OF IT?

>> WE WOULD LOVE TO BE ABLE TO DO THAT.

RIGHT NOW, WE DON'T HAVE THE CAPACITY TO SEE EXACTLY WHICH

DATA SETS ARE PEOPLE DOWNLOADING.

WE'RE JUST TRACKING HOW MUCH PEOPLE ARE USING IT.

BUT THE REAL PURPOSE OF THAT IS WE WANT EVERYBODY TO BE ABLE TO

ACCESS AND USE THIS DATA FOR WHATEVER PURPOSES THEY WOULD

LIKE TO USE IT FOR AND WE ALSO WANT TO MAKE CLEAR THAT WE'RE

PROVIDING THE DATA AND WHATEVER PEOPLE DO WITH IT IS UP TO THEM

AND THEIR RESPONSIBILITY.

>> SO TO THE POINT ABOUT WHAT PEOPLE DO WITH IT, YOU CAN MAKE

MAPS, DIFFERENT PRESENTATION TOOLS.

THAT SEEMS PRETTY COMPLICATED AND HOW WAS THAT ELEMENT ADDED

TO THE SITE?

>> ACTUALLY, IT'S USING ONE SOFTWARE THAT WAS REALLY

EFFECTIVE FOR THIS PURPOSE, TABLO SO PEOPLE CAN DOWNLOAD

IMAGES OF THE MAPS AND GRAPHS.

THEY CAN MAKE THEIR OWN CUSTOMIZED GRAPHS.

THEY CAN SHARE IT ON SOCIAL MEDIA AND PUT THOSE IMAGES INTO

THEIR OWN PRESENTATION OR EMAIL IT TO SOMEONE.

SO WE JUST WANTED TO MAKE IT AS USEABLE AS POSSIBLE, THAT PEOPLE

DIDN'T HAVE TO HAVE THEIR OWN TECHNICAL SKILLS AND IT LOOKS

NICE AND HAVE A CONVERSATION WITH DATA WITH OTHER PEOPLE.

World News - Chris Brown is seen in public for first time since police interview - Duration: 4:53.

The singer Chris Brown has made his first public appearance since he was grilled by French police over allegations he raped a woman during a 'drug-fueled' party in Paris

Greeting his fans with a wave and a smile, the pop star shrugged off the sexual assault claims made by a 25-year-old woman, shouting 'I love you' to his supporters

He was whisked away in a chauffeur driven car to an undisclosed location in the French capital where he filmed the music video for a forthcoming song

Brown, 29, an R&B singer with a string of hit singles globally, is accused alongside two other men of meeting a woman in a nightclub near the Champs-Elysees before taking her back to the five-star Mandarin Oriental hotel and carrying out the attack

The singer was in custody yesterday alongside a man believed to be his bodyguard following the allegations of assault and 'drug infractions'

Brown defiantly brushed off the allegations and performed a dance next to the Siene river wearing black gloves and a black hat for a music video, surrounded by dozens of crew members

Share this article Share He has denied the allegations in an Instagram post to his 50 million followers on Tuesday night

'For my daughter and my family this is so disrespectful and is against my character and morals,' Brown wrote in the all-caps caption following his detention in Paris

'This is false,' he wrote. The image on the post simply read: 'This b***h lyin'. The woman at the center of allegations said her horrifying ordeal occurred at the five-star Mandarin Oriental hotel where suites can cost more than $24,000 - about £18,000 - per night

It was in the exclusive hotel that the woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, says she was attacked by Brown, his bodyguard and a family friend

In an interview with French Closer magazine, the woman said she met Brown 'through a friend' who works at the Crystal Lounge nightclub on the Champs Elysee

'This friend asked me what I was doing the next day, and if I would like to meet Chris Brown,' said the woman, who finally met the rapper on January 15

'I said yes and the next day, on Tuesday, I had an appointment at 11.30pm at the Mandarin Oriental hotel to meet the rapper

At the reception of the hotel, I found myself with friends of his and other girls

We went up to his suite to pick him up and we all went to a nightclub called 'The Quay'

'Everything was going well. Around 4am, they decided to go back to the hotel. I wanted to go home, but someone in Chris Brown's entourage took me by the arm and said: 'Come on, we'll have a good evening

''Leaving the nightclub, there were two Mercedes vans that were full up. So I said, 'There's no place, I'm going home

' Then I was told, 'No, come on!'. And I was put in Chris Brown's car with another girl

'The group got back to Brown's rooms at the Mandarin Oriental where the attack is said to have taken place

Following the attack in the early hours of January 16, the woman waited two days, until Friday January 18 to go to the police in Paris

COMMITTEE . THE DATE IS JANUARY

24 AND THE TIME IS 10 AM.

THANK YOU.

THE CHAIR OF THE COMMITTEE AND

I'M JOINED BY COUNCILMEMBER

GONZALEZ AND COUNCILMEMBER

BAGSHAW WILL BE WITH US SOON.

A QUICK REVIEW OF TODAY'S

AGENDA, WE HAVE DONE THE CALL

TO ORDER, WE WILL DO THE CHAIRS

REPORT AND MOVED TO PUBLIC

COMMENT AND ITEMS OF BUSINESS,

WE HAVE SEVEN MATTERS.

AS YOU KNOW, ON THE AGENDA

ITEMS 1 TO 3 ARE APPOINTMENTS

TO THE SEATTLE PARKS DISTRICT

OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE.

SEAN PARKS AND MISSED DO WE

PARTNER DEWEY POTTER WILL BE

HERE, MATHEW McBRIDE WILL NOT

BE HERE.

WE WILL DISCUSS DISCOVERY PARK

WHICH WE BRIEFED ON COMMITTEE

JENNY 16, AND ITEMS FIVE

THROUGH SEVEN ARE REGARDING THE

CENTRAL WATERFRONT IMPROVEMENT.

I WILL NOW GIVE A BRIEF,

ANOTHER MORE FORMALIZED CHAIR

REPORT, THE THREE APPOINTMENTS

FOR THE SEATTLE PARKS DISTRICT

OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE , I WILL

INVITE EACH CANDIDATE TO THE

TABLE FOR BRIEF DISCUSSION, WE

WILL PROCEED ON THE POTENTIAL

VOTE TO RECOMMEND APPOINTMENT

TO CITY COUCIL.

THEN WE WILL TAKE POTENTIAL

VOTES ON THE FOLLOWING

LEGISLATION, THE FIRST WILL

TRANSFER JURISDICTION AND

SEATTLE PUBLIC UTILITIES.

WE HAD THIS COMMITTEE LAST

WEEK.

THE SECOND PART IS THE CENTRAL

WATERFRONT LEGISLATURE PACKAGE

THAT INCLUDES THREE SEPARATE

ORDINANCES FOR IMPROVING THE

WATERFRONT, A BRIEF OVERVIEW

AGAIN BY THE OFFICE OF THE

WATERFRONT ON EACH ORDINANCE,

WE WILL VOTE ON THE ORDINANCES

PROTEST WAIVER AGREEMENT.

AND WITH THAT, LET'S DO PUBLIC

HOW MANY PEOPLE DO WE HAVE

GO-AHEAD.

LET ME DO A QUICK, AS YOU KNOW,

WHEN WE DO PUBLIC COMPED

ON TODAY'S AGENDA.

YOU HAVE TWO MINUTES, WHEN HER

NAME IS CALLED, STATE YOUR NAME

FOR THE RECORD AND THANK YOU

FOR COMING HERE TODAY.

>> WE HAVE JOAN PAULSON.

>> MY NAME IS JOAN PAULSON AND

I'M SPEAKING ON BEHALF OF THE

AT-LARGE, THE AT-LARGE MEMBER

FOR THE PIKE PLACE MARKET

CONSTITUENCY.

I WOULD LIKE TO SPEAK AND

ADDRESS THE ISSUES OF COUNCIL

BILL 119447 AND 119448.

WHICH WILL UNDERMINE THE

CHARTER FOR THE PIKE PLACE

MARKET PRESERVATION DEVELOPMENT

AUTHORITY, THESE TWO COUNCIL

BILLS ALLOW THE OPERATIONS OF

PIKE PLACE MARKET OUTSIDE THE

FEDERALLY DESIGNATED MARKET

HISTORICAL DISTRICT.

THIS IS BEING DONE BY THE

MISREPRESENTATION OF THE

BOUNDARIES AND AUTHORITY, NOT

INCLUDED IN YOUR PACKET.

THE REASON FOR THIS IS BECAUSE

THE CITY COUNCIL IS BEING TOLD

WHAT YOU WANT TO HEAR AND NOT

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW.

I AM HERE TODAY TO TRY TO AVOID

WHAT HAPPENED WITH THE HEAD

TAX.

AS CITY COUCIL HAD BEEN TARRED

AND FEATHERED UNJUSTLY.

I HAVE BROUGHT TO YOU THREE MAPS

THAT NEED TO BE COMPARED WITH

THE MAPS AND INFORMATION YOU DO

NOT HAVE IN YOUR PACKET.

YOUR INFORMATION DOES NOT

DISTINGUISH THESE FLAWS IN YOUR

VOTING ACTION TODAY.

THE DEVIL IS TRULY IN THE

DETAILS AND YOU ARE NOT BEING

TOLD WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW.

IF YOU THINK THAT THE MARKET

HISTORICAL COMMISSION WOULD BE

IN A POSITION OF TELLING YOU

THESE ISSUES, ARE MISTAKEN.

THAT IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN

BECAUSE THEY HAVE TO COMBAT THE

$900 MILLION PROJECT BEFORE YOU.

THE MAPS THAT I HAVE, ONE, THE

MARKET HISTORICAL, I'M SORRY,

THE URBAN RENEWAL PLAN OF 1974.

WHICH SHOWS THE BOUNDARIES AT

THE EDGE OF THE AURORA, HIGHWAY

99.

IT DOES NOT EXTEND WESTWARD.

ANOTHER MAP IS WHAT THE MARKET

HISTORICAL COMMISSION

BOUNDARIES WHICH IS IN THE

WEBSITE FOR THE CITY.

WHICH POOCH IS PART OF THE

BOUNDARIES WITHIN HIGHWAY 99,

NOT THE CASE, LEGALLY SPEAKING.

AND A THIRD MAP HAS TO DO WITH

WHAT MARKET PDA PUT TOGETHER

FOR THE GUIDELINES FOR TOUR

LICENSING, WHICH TOOK THE WHOLE

AREA OF HIGHWAY 99 AS THE

HISTORICAL DISTRICT.

THE ONE YOU WANT TO FOLLOW IS

THE URBAN RENEWAL PLAN, AND YOU

WANT TO ASK THE RIGHT

QUESTIONS.

SO, I PROVIDED THREE COPIES FOR

YOU TODAY.

>> THANK YOU.

>> JUST TRYING TO AVOID ANOTHER

ROUND OF TAR AND FEATHERING

BECAUSE THIS IS THE ELEPHANT IN

THE MEETING AND IT WILL TURN

INTO THE CAMEL.

>> OKAY, THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

>> NOT A GOOD IDEA.

>> THANK YOU FOR BRINGING THE

DOCUMENTS AS WELL.

>> NICOLE GRANT.

>> GOOD MORNING, COUNCILMEMBER

JUAREZ AND COUNCILMEMBER

GONZALEZ, I REPRESENT UNION

WORKERS IN KING COUNTY.

I WANTED TO TAKE A MOMENT TO

SAY WE ARE SUPPORTING THE LID

FOR THE CENTRAL WATERFRONT AND

TO THANK YOU FOR THE WORK YOU

HAVE DONE TO BRING THIS

PROPOSAL FORWARD, WE ARE IN

SUPPORT OF THE LEGISLATION, NOT

JUST AS WORKERS, ALSO AS

LANDOWNERS.

AS YOU KNOW, WE HAVE HALF OF

THE CITY BLOCK AT FIRST AND

BROUGHT INSIDE OF THE L.I.D.,

WE BELIEVE WHAT WILL HAPPEN

DOWN THERE IS GOING TO BE GOOD

FOR THE COMMUNITY.

THERE ARE GOING TO BE A LOT OF

NEW CITY OF SEATTLE UNION JOBS

OPERATING THE PARKS DOWNTOWN.

ON THE WATERFRONT AND WE ARE

EXCITED TO SEE THAT.

I KNOW THERE WAS SOME INTEREST

IN PRIVATIZING THOSE POSITIONS

A LONG TIME AGO.

BUT THAT GOT WORKED THROUGH AND

IT IS GREAT TO ADD THIS PARK TO

OUR PORTFOLIO OF CITY PARKS

COMPLETELY.

INCLUDING WITH THE WORKERS THAT

STAFF IT.

AND I'M ALSO GRATEFUL TO THE

MAYOR'S OFFICE AND TO

COUNCILMAN MOSQUEDA FOR HELPING

US ESTABLISH LABOR HARMONY

AGREEMENT LANGUAGE INSIDE THE

ORDINANCE.

THIS IS A BIG DEAL FOR US

BECAUSE IT HELPS WORKERS THAT

MIGHT NOT BE CITY EMPLOYEES,

BUT ARE SERVING OUR COMMUNITY

DOWN AT THE PARK, HAVE AN EASY

PATH TO HAVING A VOICE IF THEY

CHOOSE TO HAVE A UNION.

AND JUST IN GENERAL, THE UNION

MOVEMENT IS IN THE QUALITY OF

LIFE GAME AND HAVING A FACILITY

LIKE THIS DOWNTOWN FOR

EVERYBODY TO ENJOY IS

FOUNDATIONAL TO WHAT WE DO SO

THANK YOU.

>> THANK YOU, NICOLE.

WITH THAT, WE ARE DONE WITH

PUBLIC COMMENT.

LET'S MOVE INTO ITEMS OF

BUSINESS.

LET'S READ ONE, TWO AND THREE

INTO THE RECORD AND THEN WE

MOVE TO APPOINTMENTS.

>> APPOINTMENT 01235,

APPOINTMENT OF SEAN M. WATTS AS

MEMBER OF SEATTLE PARKS

DISTRICT OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE

FOR TIME MARCH 21st 2020.

ITEM 2, APPOINTMENT ONE 244,

FOR THE SEATTLE PARKS DISTRICT

COMMUNITY OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE

FIRST OF ALL, THANK YOU MR.

WATTS AND DEWEY FOR BEING HERE .

WE WILL START WITH

INTRODUCTIONS.

I OBVIOUSLY HAVE INFORMATION

ABOUT YOU, I WOULD LIKE TO TALK

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOURSELVES.

FIRST, WHY DON'T WE START WITH

YOU, SEAN . I CAN GO ON AND ON,

I HAVE A LITTLE CHEAT SHEET

HERE, I WILL LET IT GO GO-

AHEAD.

>> I'M A PROUD DISTRICT 5

RESIDENT. THE PAST THREE AND

HALF YEARS I WORKED AT THE

SEATTLE PARKS FOUNDATION,

WORKING IN COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

AND WORKING WITH COMMUNITIES TO

DESIGN PARKS AND OPEN SPACE IN

THEIR OWN VISION.

MY BACKGROUND IS IN

CONSERVATION BIOLOGY, WITH A

FOCUS ON SCIENCE TRANSLATION

AND SCIENCE POLICY INTERFACE.

AND MY PERSONAL AND

PROFESSIONAL FOCUS AND CAREER

IS ON DIVERSIFYING

ENVIRONMENTAL MOVEMENT.

NOW I'M CONSULTING WITH

ENVIRONMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS TO

HELP THEM TRANSFORM THE WAY

THEY WORK IN COMMUNITIES OF

COLOR AND UNDERSERVED

COMMUNITIES.

>> SEAN, I WANT TO ADD WE HAVE

BEEN WORKING WITH YOU, FOR A

WHILE NOW, WE ARE EXCITED, AT

LEAST A COUPLE YEARS, SEAN IS

INVOLVED IN THE LAKE CITY

COLLECTIVE, SEATTLE EQUITY AND

ENVIRONMENTAL INITIATIVE, THEY

DO SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM AND

PUBLIC SYSTEM, WHAT STOOD OUT

FOR SOME OF US IS YOUR

DEDICATION TO AS YOU SAY

DIVERSIFYING THE ENVIRONMENTAL

SCIENCE FIELD.

BECAUSE IT IS SO CLEAR,

PARTICULARLY NOT JUST IN THE

CITY, ACROSS THE NATION WHERE

YOU FIND THE MOST ENVIRONMENTAL

DEGRADATION IS WHERE YOU FIND

COMMUNITIES OF COLOR AND TRIBES

KNOW THAT VERY WELL.

SO, I'M REALLY GLAD YOUR ENERGY

AND EXPERIENCE TO HAVE YOU ON

THE PARK OVERSIGHT BOARD IS

VERY EXCITING, I WANT TO

WELCOME YOU.

>> MY COLLEAGUES MAY HAVE

QUESTIONS.

>> IF YOU ARE FROM D5 -- WHY

DON'T WE GO AHEAD WITH DEWEY.

OR DO WE WANT TO VOTE FIRST

TAXI WE WILL DO THE VOTE FIRST.

OKAY.

WE WILL DO THE VOTE FIRST.

I MOVE THE COMMITTEE PASS

APPOINTMENT OF 01235, MR. WATTS,

THE MOTION HAS BEEN MOVED AND

SECONDED.

ANY DISCUSSION?

NOPE.

THOSE ALL IN FAVOR SAY AYE.

THOSE OPPOSED, NAY.

THE MOTION PASSES AND THE

COMMITTEE RECOMMENDS FULL

COUNCIL.

>> CONGRATULATIONS.

>> THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME.

>> WE DO NOT HAVE MR. McBRIDE

HERE.

WE MOVE FORWARD ANYWAY?

WHAT I HAVE FOR MR. McBRIDE,

MAT IS A CHAIR OF THE DELL

RIDGE NEIGHBORHOOD DISTRICT

COUNCIL, THAT IS DISTRICT 1

SERVING THE EASTERN HALF OF

SEATTLE PENINSULA, HE SERVED ON

THE CAMP LONG ADVISORY 14

YEARS, PUBLIC INFORMATION

OFFICER FOR THE AMERICAN RED

CROSS, KING COUNTY CHAPTER,

SERVING ON DISASTER TEAM FIVE.

USE A RECOVERY MANAGER FOR THE

UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON.

OVER THE LAST 20 YEARS HE

WORKED ACROSS THE RESILIENCY

SPECTRUM OF BUSINESS,

CONTINUOUS TECHNOLOGY, CRISIS

COMMUNICATIONS AND LICENSED

LIFE SAFETY, LIFE PURSUIT TO

THE ANSWER OF WHAT CAN GO

WRONG?

I LOVE THAT, THAT'S MY LIFE IN

A NUTSHELL.

HE IS 45 YEARS EXPERIENCE,

SEATTLE PARKS AND GREEN SPACES,

I DON'T KNOW IF YOU HAD A GUY

HAD A CHANCE TO LOOK AT HIS

AMMA IT'S VERY IMPRESSIVE.

IN 2011, HE BUILT ONE FROM

SCRATCH, ROCK HILL PARK, FIELD

TESTING SEATTLE PARKS AND GREEN

SPACES.

IS THERE ANYTHING ANYONE WOULD

LIKE TO ADD TO THAT?

>> KNOW.

>> I REALLY APPRECIATE THE WORK

YOU HAVE DONE, I SAW THE DELL

WORK PARK WHEN IT WAS GOING IN,

I APPRECIATE THE WORK.

OKAY.

WITH THAT, MOVE THE APPOINTMENT

01244 OF MR. McBRIDE.

AND SECOND.

ANY FURTHER DISCUSSION?

ALL THOSE IN FAVOR SAY AYE.

ALL OPPOSED?

THE AYES PASSES.

WE RECOMMEND THIS TO FULL

COUNCIL.

LET'S MOVE ON TO DEWEY WHO IS

PHENOMENAL.

DEWEY HAS A LOT OF INFO HERE.

I WILL LET YOU TALK ABOUT YOUR

EXPERIENCE AND WHAT YOU HAVE

DONE, I DON'T NEED TO READ A

LOT OF THIS INTO THE RECORD AND

YOU ARE HERE AND I WOULD LIKE

TO HEAR FROM YOU . AND THEN WE

WILL MOVE FORWARD.

>> I CAME TO THE COUNCIL IN

1978 AND WORKED EIGHT YEARS FOR

COUNCILMEMBER MICHAEL HILL AND

SPENT EIGHT YEARS IN THE BUDGET

OFFICE, THE LAST 20 YEARS AT

PARKS.

I RETIRED FIVE YEARS AGO.

I WAS APPOINTED TO MY FIRST TERM

I GUESS THREE YEARS AGO ON THE

OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE.

IT HAS BEEN A WONDERFUL

EXPERIENCE, THIS COMMITTEE

BRINGS DIVERSITY TO THE TABLE

AND ALSO DIVERSITY OF POINTS OF

VIEW WHICH IS REALLY IMPORTANT

TO THE PROCESS.

WE HAVE HAD VERY RICH

DISCUSSIONS ABOUT A LOT OF

POLICY ISSUES, WE ARE ABOUT TO

SUBMIT OUR MID FINANCIAL CYCLE

REPORT TO YOU, THAT WILL COME

FROM PARKS WITH A COVER LETTER

FROM THE COMMITTEE,

RECOMMENDING A FEW TWEAKS WE

THINK WILL BE HELPFUL.

>> GREAT.

>> DEWEY , I HAD THE PLEASURE

OF WORKING WITH YOU WHEN I

FIRST CAME ON COUNCIL 10 YEARS

AGO, APPRECIATE ALL YOUR HELP.

MAYBE YOU CAN DESCRIBE A LITTLE

BIT ABOUT WITH YOUR EXPERIENCE

ON THIS COMMITTEE, HAD WE MAKE

SURE THE PUBLIC KNOWS ABOUT

THESE RICH CONVERSATIONS YOU'RE

HAVING?

BECAUSE NO SMALL PART, WHEN WE

PASSED THE METROPOLITAN PARK

DISTRICT, THERE WERE SOME

CONCERNS WE WOULD NOT BE

TRANSPARENT, WE WERE NOT

ACCOUNTABLE, THE VOTERS WOULD

NOT HAVE A SAY.

HOW DO YOU GET THAT WORD OUT TO

PEOPLE?

>> WELL, WE ARE ABOUT TO EMBARK

ON A SERIES OF YOU KNOW,

ONGOING VISITS TO COMMUNITY

MEETINGS AND OTHER

OPPORTUNITIES, POP-UPS, WHERE

WE WILL GO AS INDIVIDUALS OR

PAIRS, HOWEVER, JUST GO AND

LISTEN.

BECAUSE AS WITH THE PARK BOARD,

THE SAME PEOPLE TEND TO SHOP AT

THE SAME MEETINGS WITH THE SAME

ISSUES.

WE ARE GOING TO BRANCH

OURSELVES OUT INTO THE

COMMUNITY AND LISTEN.

>> I THINK IT IS IMPORTANT TOO

TO BE ABLE TO EXPLAIN YOU

REALLY ARE ACTIVE, YOU'RE NOT

JUST RUBBERSTAMPED.

>> CORRECT.

>> I THINK PEOPLE UNDERSTAND

THAT, THAT WOULD BE VALUABLE.

>> ESPECIALLY AS WE EMBARK ON

WORK FOR THE NEXT SIX YEAR

FINANCIAL PLAN.

>> RIGHT.

VERY GOOD.

>> DEWEY, I CALLED HIM SEAN, I

THINK IT IS REALLY IMPORTANT TO

POINT OUT PEOPLE LIKE YOU ARE

SUCH A GEM, YOU WORKED FOR THE

CITY 36 YEARS, YOU SERVED ON

THE VOLUNTEER COMMITTEE, YOU

ARE AROUND WHEN THE PARKS LEVY

WAS PASSED, YOU HAVE BEEN THE

FACE AND VOICE TO GIVE US

INFORMATION AND YOUR

WILLINGNESS TO SERVE AS A

VOLUNTEER AND SHOW UP AND DO

THE WORK, I WISH MORE PEOPLE IN

THE PUBLIC WOULD BE PART OF THE

SOLUTION.

I WANT TO THANK YOU.

>> THANK YOU.

>> WE VALUE YOUR WISDOM AND

EXPERIENCE AND I MADE A

MISTAKE, I SHOULD HAVE SAID

THIS IS A REAPPOINTMENT.

IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE FOR MY

COLLEAGUES?

>> I MOVE THE COMMITTEE PASS

APPOINTMENT 01245, MS. DEWEY

POTTER.

>> SECOND.

>> THE MOTION MOVED AND

SECONDED.

ANY FURTHER DISCUSSION?

ALL THOSE IN FAVOR SAY AYE.

ALL THOSE OPPOSED?

THE AYES PASSES, THE MOTION

PASSES AND WE WILL RECOMMEND IT

TO FULL COUNCIL ON MONDAY.

CONGRATULATIONS.

IT IS GOOD TO HAVE YOU BACK.

AND GLAD TO HAVE YOU ON BOARD,

SEAN . WE WILL PUT YOU TO WORK.

>> SAY HI TO MATHEW McBRIDE FOR

ME, I HAVE NOT SEEN HIM IN A

WHILE.

>> ALL RIGHT.

LET'S HAVE THE NEXT GROUP UP

HERE, THIS IS ITEM NUMBER FOUR,

THE DISCOVERY PARTIAL TRANSFER

JURISDICTION, WE WILL READ INTO

THE RECORD AND I WILL SAY A FEW

COMMENTS AND WE WILL MOVE

FORWARD.

RECREATION AND PUBLIC

UTILITIES, TRANSFERRING PARTIAL

JURISDICTION OF PORTIONS OF

PARKLAND AND PARK BOULEVARD

WITHIN DISCOVERY PARK FROM THE

DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND

RECREATION TO SEATTLE PUBLIC

UTILITIES FOR MAINTENANCE,

REPAIR, REPLACEMENT, AND

OPERATION OF PUBLIC WATER AND

SANITARY SEWER INFRASTRUCTURE

ASSOCIATED UNDERGROUND PIPES,

HYDRANTS, AND LIMITED SURFACE

ANCILLARY FACILITIES AND

FINDING THAT TRANSFER PARTIAL

JURISDICTION MEETS THE

REQUIREMENTS OF ORDINANCE 118477

, WHICH ADOPTED INITIATIVE 42

>> ARE YOU SURE THERE'S NOTHING

ELSE?

>> I COULD DO IT OVER AGAIN.

>> TRACI RATZLIFF OF COUNCIL

CENTRAL STAFF, PRETTY

STRAIGHTFORWARD, SIMPLE PIECE

OF LEGISLATION THAT GIVES THAT

PARTIAL TRANSFER JURISDICTION TO

SPU SO THEY CAN TAKE CARE OF

THEIR WATER AND SEWER PIPES, WE

DON'T ANTICIPATE THERE BEING

MUCH DISTURBANCE OF THE

PARKLAND WHEN THEY DO THAT, IF

THEY DO THEY WILL REPAIR IT AND

TAKE CARE OF IT.

I THINK THAT IS ALL WE NEED TO

TALK ABOUT IN TERMS OF

LEGISLATION, IT'S READY FOR

ADOPTION.

>> ANY QUESTIONS, COUNCIL?

>> WE HAD A RIGOROUS PUBLIC

HEARING LAST TIME AS I RECALL .

>> WITH THAT I SAY WE MOVE

COUNCIL BILL 119446.

ALL IN FAVOR SAY AYE . THE AYES

HABIT, MOTION PASSES AND WE

RECOMMEND FULL PASSAGE TO CITY

COUCIL ON MONDAY.

>> THANK YOU.

>> THESE ARE ITEMS, HAD WE WANT

TO DO THIS?

DO YOU WANT TO DO EACH ONE?

HOW SHOULD WE DO THAT.

>> WE WILL GO THROUGH THE WHOLE

PACKAGE AND THEN VOTE ONE-ON-

ONE.

LET'S DO THAT.

I HAVE A FEW COMMENTS BEFORE WE

SLIDE INTO THIS AND YOU DO

INTRODUCTIONS.

YOU READ INTO THE RECORD, YOU

DO INTRODUCTIONS, I WILL SAY A

FEW THINGS AND THEN WE WILL GO

INTO THIS SLIDE, THIS POWERPOINT

I'VE SEEN 19,000 TIMES.

NO OFFENSE.

LIKE I SAID, WE HAD FOUR PUBLIC

ARE VERY EXCITED TO BE HERE TO

TAKE THE NEXT STEP WITH THIS

PACKAGE OF LEGISLATION.

AS WE DISCUSSED AT OUR LAST

COMMITTEE BRIEFING IN DEPTH,

THERE ARE THREE ELEMENTS WE ARE

GOING TO QUICKLY SUMMARIZE

AGAIN THIS MORNING AND THEN WE

WILL LET YOU TAKE THE STEPS

AFTER THAT.

AGAIN, L.I.D.

FORMATION ORDINANCE, THE STATE

REQUIRED STEP FOR THE ACTUAL

FORMATION OF THE WATERFRONT

LOCAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT.

PROTEST WAIVER AGREEMENT WHICH

WILL ESTABLISH AGREEMENT BETWEEN

AFFECTED PROPERTY OWNERS AND

THE CITY AS TO THE

IMPLEMENTATION OF THE L.I.D.

AND THE OPERATIONS AND

MANAGEMENT OF THE NEW

WATERFRONT.

AND FINALLY AN ORDINANCE THAT

WILL FINALLY ESTABLISH OUR OWN

STRATEGY AND PARTNERSHIP AS

WELL AS OUR FINAL PHILANTHROPIC

FUNDING.

JOSHUA, WALK US THROUGH EACH

PIECE.

>> GREAT.

WE WILL DO THIS QUICKLY, THE

L.I.D.

ORDINANCE IS THE SECOND IN THE

LEGISLATIVE PROCESS TO FORM THE

L.I.D..

THERE ARE COUPLE THINGS THAT

FORM THE LOCAL IMPROVEMENT

DISTRICT, IT CAPS THE AMOUNT AT

$161 AND OBLIGATES THE CITY TO

FIND AND COMPLETE THE

IMPROVEMENTS.

IT DOES NOT, THE ACTUAL

INDIVIDUAL ASSESSMENTS WILL BE

ADDRESSED LATER ON THIS YEAR.

THEN WE HAVE THE PROTEST WAIVER

AGREEMENT PER STATE LAW, WE CAN

ENTER INTO AGREEMENT WITH

PROPERTY OWNERS, THIS ALLOWS US

THE OPPORTUNITY TO ADDRESS

CONCERNS WE HAVE HEARD OVER THE

PAST YEAR AND A HALF, OVER 100

BRIEFINGS, WE TALKED ABOUT THAT

LAST TIME.

THE PROPERTY OWNERS THEN COMMIT

TO WAIVE THEIR PROTESTS AND

THEIR ABILITY TO LEGALLY

CHALLENGE THE L.I.D.

AND THE CITY THEN HAS REVISED

THE TOTAL AMOUNT TO 160 MILLION

DOWN FROM 200 MILLION AND THEN

ALSO COMMITS TO APPROVE AND

IMPLEMENT THE OPERATIONS AND

MAINTENANCE ORDINANCE.

THE FUNDING OPERATIONS AND

MAINTENANCE ORDINANCE, THERE

ARE A FEW THINGS, IT RE-COMMITS

FRIENDS AT WATERFRONT SEATTLE

TO NOT ONLY RAISE $100 MILLION

THEY COMMITTED IN THE PAST, IT

NOW UPS THAT TO $110 MILLION,

OUTLINES THE CONTRIBUTION

SCHEDULE, WE FORMALIZED THE

LONG-TERM PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN

FRIENDS OF WATERFRONT SEATTLE

AND PARKS, WE TALKED A LOT

ABOUT THAT.

ESSENTIALLY, PARKS DOES ALL THE

MAINTENANCE, FRIENDS DOES ALL

THE PROGRAMMING.

IS A PILOT AGREEMENT COUNCIL

WOULD BE AUTHORIZING US TO

ENTER INTO FOUR TWO YEARS FOR

PIER 62 WHICH WOULD BEGIN LATER

THIS YEAR, WE WOULD BE BACK TO

REVIEW THAT WITH YOU.

AND IT OUTLINES WHAT A LONG-

TERM MANAGEMENT LOOKS LIKE, THE

BUDGET AND THEN CALLS TO COME

BACK WITH PARK BOULEVARD BUT

THIS LEGION.

FINALLY, IT CREATES THE

OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE, WE TALK A

LOT ABOUT WHAT THAT LOOKS LIKE

LAST TIME.

THE LAST SLIDE I WANT TO

QUICKLY REVIEW FOR YOU, WE WENT

THROUGH THIS LAST TIME, WHAT WE

ADDED IN HERE IN RESPONSE TO

COUNCILMEMBER GONZALEZ'S

RECOMMENDATIONS, WE MADE IT

CLEAR ALTHOUGH WE WOULD BRING A

BUDGET AMENDMENT TO YOU IN

FEBRUARY, COUNCIL LIKELY WOULD

NOT VOTE ON THAT UNTIL APRIL.

AFTER THE PROTEST IN LEGAL

CHALLENGE PERIODS HAVE

COMPLETED.

THE CLERK'S FILE.

>> I WAS GOING TO NOTE THAT.

I WOULD LIKE TO THANK IS A

MEMBER GONZALEZ FOR HER

DOCUMENT ON PAGE 4, IT TALKS

ABOUT THE HEARING EXAMINER'S

REPORT WHICH WILL BE PART OF

THE RECORD AND PART OF THE

CLERK FILE COMPLETED AUGUST 31,

2018 AND ISSUED SEPTEMBER 2018.

I THINK IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE

EVEN THOUGH IT IS 170 PAGES, 16

PAGES IS THE REPORT, OF THE 16

PAGES, ONLY EIGHT PAGES ARE

DATING COMMENTS CONCERNING

CONCERNS AND OBSERVATIONS.

I DON'T WANT THEM TO COME TO

COME TO CONCLUSIONS, MAINLY

NOTED THOSE CONCERNS, THE FOUR,

HOT | Jerry Brown launches back into public life with doomsday warning Los Angeles Times - Duration: 3:23.

HOT | Jerry Brown launches back into public life with doomsday warning Los Angeles Times

Jerry Brown may be out of elected office, but he has no intention of exiting public life.

On Thursday he launched the newest phase of his career in signature style standing before a giant clock in Washington to warn that the world lies dangerously close to catastrophe.

The former California governor for and at an event hosted by the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, which unveiled the latest setting of its iconic Doomsday Clock, the hands of which sit at two minutes to midnight, a warning that the world is as close to nuclear Armageddon and climate disaster as it has ever been.

The event provided a reminder that much of the work Brown and his allies have done over decades of fighting climate change and pursuing nuclear disarmament has been undermined or reversed by the Trump administration.

It was also a springboard for Brown, now the executive chairman of the Bulletin, to jump into a new phase of advocacy, attacking the administrations denial of climate change, which has helped keep emissions creeping upward, and its erratic policies toward nuclear arms including disavowing the Iran nuclear deal which have led to deep worries about proliferation.

The blindness and stupidity of the politicians and their consultants is truly shocking in the face of nuclear catastrophe, Brown said. We know that thousands of these weapons on high alert could be launched by mistake. We are almost like travelers on the Titanic, seeing the iceberg up ahead but enjoying the elegant dining and the music.

The danger and probability is mounting that there will be some kind of nuclear incident that will kill millions, if not initiating exchanges that will kill billions, he declared.

Last year, the Bulletin set its 72 year old clock at 11:58, and this year kept that gloomy judgment in place. The lack of movement was a warning from the scientists and policymakers on the Bulletins Science and Security Board that the outlook for human civilization remains precarious. The last time the clock was this close to doomsday was in 1953, when the United States and the Soviet Union tested their first thermonuclear weapons.

Its a state as worrisome as the most dangerous times of the Cold War, a state that features a constantly shifting landscape of simmering disputes that keep the world unsettled and multiply the chances that major military conflict will erupt, said former Secretary of Defense William J. Perry. Since serving in the Clinton administration, Perry has been outspoken in warning of the increased danger that rogue nations or terrorist groups could get ahold of a nuclear device and detonate it in the United States.

The Bulletin warned the planet has entered a period of prolonged instability it calls the new abnormal, where the caustic political environment, acceleration of disinformation and cyber warfare and lack of attention to the climate and nuclear proliferation crises have put civilization on an unsustainable path.

Brown said he planned to spend his next years traveling the nation and the world in a campaign to change course. He placed blame across party lines, calling out Democrats for their hostility to dialogue with Russia.

Yes, the Russians have plenty of faults and sins, but we, too, have to look ourselves in the mirror, and we are not perfect, he said. Lets talk to [Vladimir] Putin. Lets talk to anybody else who can do the kind of damage you are hearing about from this panel of nuclear scientists.

And Brown had a message for the media too, which he says too often focuses on petty Washington drama and the political horse race over the increasing dangers of nuclear annihilation and environmental collapse.

You love Trumps tweets, he said. You love the leads and to get the clicks. But the final click could be a nuclear accident or mistake.
