Ammonia-soaked cotton balls or rags will drive rodents out (they hate the smell). Place them in areas where rodents, droppings, or nests have been seen, and be sure to give the animals a few days to leave.
If you encounter an animal who is stuck to a glue trap, pour a small amount of cooking oil or baby oil onto the stuck areas (avoiding the animal's nose and mouth) and gently work the animal free.
Mice aren't the only ones hurt by glue traps—they also capture birds, squirrels, chipmunks, snakes, gerbils, kittens, and other small animals.

Easy Acrylic Unmasking: A Simple Trick for Removing Paper Masking from Laser-Cut Materials - Duration: 1:00.
Here's a tip on removing the paper masking from laser-cut parts.
For the first piece, you'll need to use your fingernail to lift a bit of the masking up.
It's usually easiest to do this somewhere on the design where there's a point.
You can see that this can be a little difficult, so we don't want to
have to do this over and over again if we have lots of parts.
Once you get the corner up you can peel the masking off but don't discard it.
We're going to use it to get the next piece off.
Just slide the sticky side along the edge of your part at a slight angle
and it should catch on the other piece of masking and start to peel it up.
This generally works better near a corner or curved edged as opposed to a straight edge.
Also it can sometimes take a few goes to get it to stick,
and you might have to adjust your angle a bit,
but once you've done it a few times
you should get a feel for it,
and you'll have the masking off your parts before you know it.

How to Make Simple Sweet Potato Soup - Duration: 2:28.
Today on The Stay At Home Chef I'm showing you how to make Simple Sweet Potato Soup
This sweet potato soup recipe is really simple and easy to make.
Itt has garlic and ginger to add some bold flavors and boy is it a
heartwarming and healthy soup. Start by pouring 1 tablespoon of extra-virgin
olive oil into a large pot over medium-high heat and then we'll add in
1 white diced onion and start to saute this until it's softened which will take
about five to seven minutes. Then we'll add in about 3 cloves of
minced garlic and 2 tablespoons of freshly grated ginger. You want to saute
this for about a minute give it just a little bit of heat to allow them both to
release some flavor. Then we'll add in 2 pounds of diced sweet potatoes,
1/2 teaspoon of salt, 1/4 teaspoon of white pepper so we don't have those
little black flakes and 4 cups of vegetable broth. We'll bring this to a boil.
Let your sweet potatoes simmer for about 15 minutes or so until they are
super soft. The amount of time it takes will depend on how small you cut your
little pieces. Then you want to use a blender to blend this all up so you can
transfer it to a regular blender or use a hand immersion blender. Last I like to
add in 1 cup of shredded sharp cheddar cheese which gives this soup some body
and boy does it make it tasty. Once that cheese is melted that's it! You are ready
to eat! You can make it fancy and serve it up with a little swirl of cream or
some sliced chives or you can eat it up just like this.

Making a simple cross drilling jig for on the lathe - Duration: 28:54.
Behold, a brand-new little Chinese made drill chuck
it's called San OU
and it's the new record holder for the slowest Banggood delivery
this little thing took well over two months to get to my workshop
workshop, well that's a big name let's call it the place where I come to play with my toys
but I'm glad it's finally here. otherwise I would have lost a whopping three euro 69
or something like that
I must say that items have bought from Banggood sure take their time compared to items that I was given for review
and talking about review this thing looks decent and feels ok
although the grinding on the inside of the jaws is a bit rough and there are no serrations
but all that doesn't matter if the run out is acceptable
I'm going to stick this little drill chuck to a piece of this 16 millimeter thick rod
and make myself a simple cross drilling jig for on the lathe
so let's hack off a piece and go to the lathe
this little son Oh Chuck has a b12 taper to mount arbors I don't have anything
that has a b12 arbor so I'm using this empty two Arbor to a reference the top
side against it's not exactly the correct angle but I reckon it's close
enough and I should be able to make it fit with
a little sandpaper well that looks good enough for me
so next I'm going to set up the four jaw and center drill the 16 millimeter rod
yes probably the best I can do with a four jaw let's find out this time I'm
surprised
not sure yet but on a latke motion
yeah that must go
that's nice
it's still a bit rough but I'll take it
must be hard stuff
I think this door must be getting there gulp I wasn't really sure if the Chuck
jaws would be a parallel what you live that so I'm going with this setup I have
a half that Center over here which should give me enough space to turn this
down to be twelve taper and as you can see I got it running a pretty close to
true although I haven't tested it over here but I expect there will be some
right order let's see
well better than expected almost zero run out now let's do a taper on here
I think that too is more rubbing and cutting finish isn't too good
maybe I was cutting too deep let's finish the cut and then our
decided I need to regrind the tool bit
that's definitely not good enough I honed the Tobit and took another pass it
seemed to be cutting a better but I'm not sure if that's because of the
sharper sobut or if the material is getting softer inside
however the surface finish is still shite
although the fact that I'm having a hard time to consistently turn the handle on
the compound slide that might also have something to do with the bad surface
finish
it's definitely a bit better when turning in the direction of the
headstock
I hold the tool again and it seems to be cutting better but it still feels weird
rough I don't know this is some weird kind of script on him
it almost looks a bit like it's cast iron I think there must be a high
percentage of carbon in here I don't know almost 12 I'm shooting for 11 ish
something like that I didn't bother looking up the exact size of a b12
diaper
let's do a test fit see if this is just as perfect as I
think it is probably not but as long as I keep thinking that I gotta be right at
some point right oh that's definitely not right that's pretty far off that's
terrible so it looks like I removed too much material or I just didn't make this
long enough I guess guesstimating isn't one of my better qualities well it
should be fixable I can always remove a bit from the front
layer after I get the taper more or less fitting so I made the taper a little
longer let's find out if it has helped
looks like the chuck is still too close to the concave radius over here so I'll
remove a bit more it seems to be very close it's a test fitting time and I
have a feeling that a few more might fall I removed a bit on the front here
as there is a rich inside the chuck and well if it hits the rich it will never
fit that doesn't feel bad I'll uh I'll polish it a bit more and then I'll start
painting I slapped on a bit of oil paint and we will now pretend that this is
some high quality engineering bluing product even mr. God's window if he's
watching
this seems to be a high spot over here
all polish it again but I think it's close to good enough for me
that looks pretty good is it perfect I'm sure it's not but maybe it is by a
Chinese standards and they seem to be doing just fine
so maybe we should look at them for some inspiration most of the contact seems to
be on the front so I will polish that a little more earlier when I was polishing
I actually overheated the part because the oil inside this half dead center or
half-life and whatever you want to call it was boiling and it actually called
the half Center of dead center whatever a little bit so I guess I will have to
see if I can get a new one this time with a real carbide tip this thing was
supposed to have a carbide tip but the carbide probably stayed in China
that's nice enough and with any luck I will never see it again
16-millimeter won't fit in my electric drill shock so I'll turn it down to 12
12.7 I think said it will also fit my like the bill because I believe it can
grab a 13 millimeter drill bit I'll take one more like this
bit rough but that should give it a little grip on the drill chuck Josh
next I'm going to torture this little Chinese drill chuck with the propane
torch as that's what the propane torch is for torturing things
and when it's nice and toasty I will stick it into the Arbor I made and hope
it will never come apart again
dead and I hope it will have a decent run out
looks like it's turning a little bit black must be some oil on there
yeah that's enough a few light whacks with the nylon my hammer and that's just
done today you have it this project is finished because I'm not going to do any
difficult things with bearings and such I will just stick is in the boring bar
holder add a little loop and just use it that way I guess now I should test my
creation see if it is any good you might remember this little hair dye grinder
and the holder I made for it from a few videos ago when I try to fix a Chinese
collet Chuck with some run-out problems anyway it's now also going to be part of
my cross doing jig I put in an extra set screw on top here and that will serve as
a oil hole for some lubrication there's some play but I can tighten up these
tell'em in iam set screws to take most of it out
I don't think the other medium gonna damage the harbor I made
I'm stuck I've already broken it that's in your records even for me a little
tiny chip probably from doing the yeah set screw oil loop point hole I guess I
should stone the surface before I continue new chip dug in over here a
minor setback but it's all good now hopefully there are no more chips hidden
somewhere there's some play but that shouldn't matter I think my electric
drill is a more play and run out than this contraption here you can see the
reason why I chose a smaller drill chuck
it fits on top of the tool post and that's especially useful for cross
drilling all right I guess we now should do some real testing and I just happen
to have the perfect job to try this on this piece here is a failed backing
plate and if you follow my channel you know that it is pretty much stuck on the
spin it might even have galled up the
register and that's basically all my own fault no point denying that I'm planning
to drill a hole in the side here say ten millimeters then stick an eight
millimeter rod in the hole fix that rod to the top slide and with the backing
plate fixed to the top slide I'm hoping I can turn the headstock pulley and get
things loose again by the way I'm using a scrap of wood here to prevent the
spindle from turning when I'm drilling the hole on the side when I was pushing
in on this piece of wood with the tailstock it also pushed the backing
plate a little further towards the headstock so I think that's a good thing
at least I know it is not completely ceased up and maybe that little push
also helped to line things up again but first let's see if this thing is on sent
right from my angle it looks pretty much perfect bit of Lube nasty word thinks
e-stop must have been another chip in there that's not a great start our
investigate and report back later off stone to de Arbor and touched up the
bore with the Dremel and I'm ready to try this again hopefully a little bit
more success here we go
chill but I'm having the same problem again it's hardly touching the metal
I'll try it one more time before I admitted defeat rehomed and reached out
I'm ready to try again this time I didn't tighten up the set
screws and I put a punch mark on the backing plate to be honest I'm fully
expecting another filter because the drill check our bird is starting to get
pretty rough
it looks like pieces of metal keep breaking off on the side of the set
screw holes so here goes nothing
yeah never you again all right that's it I admit this was a stupid idea to save
some time there might be something to using some bearings or at least in the
hall or without any set screws
sticking in the pin here goes nothing yeah how dare it comes moving the top
slide a little easy no it stuck again I think it moved back to the position
where it was before I moved the backing plate with that piece of wood
no suppose again
looks where is my welding love yeah I got it
it's coming off I'm starting to feel the heat
maybe that's a little rough but that might be a corrosion from before tiny
piece of metal I think it might be okay I must say I'm not pretty happy with
this I was expecting in the worst considering my luck today
all right here aya enters rather disappointing video with a happy ending
so happy new year

Ammunition in World Of Tanks - Simple Guide - Duration: 3:29.
Today we will talk about ammunition in World of Tanks. There are four types of shells:
AP – Armor Piercing. APCR – Armor Piercing Composite Rigid. HEAT – High Explosive Anti-Tank. HE – High Explosive.
There is also a subtype of HE – HESH – the same HEP. It's HE Shell with much more penetration.
By muzzle velocity the fastest shell is APCR, then AP and after that HE. HEAT is the slowest one.
Penetration and damage values are randomized and can be 25% higher or lower.
For example British tier X tank destroyer Badger's average penetration with AP shell is 272mm and average damage is 480.
Real penetration value will be from 204 to 340mm and real damage value from 360 to 600.
So it's absolutely possible that Badger couldn't penetrate armor but tier VI AT 8 could.
Shell flying distance is limited for each type of vehicles except SPG. After travel of this distance, the shell just disappears.
For the medium and large calibers flying distance is 720m but for some small ones it's 400m.
Distance doesn't depend on the caliber, for one 25mm shell the range is 720m and for other 25mm shell is 400m.
360m for small calibers from the Wargaming video is a mistake or the range increased to 400m after that.
In fact the range is 405m, I tested many tanks and the result is the same that you see yourselves. Why 405 and not 400, I don't know.
In document the penetration capability is given from a 100m distance.
Kinetic shells AP and APCR lose their penetration over distance.
Loss of penetration is individual for each gun and shell.
HE and HEAT shells aren't kinetic so they don't lose their penetration on the range.
AP and APCR shells can go through the destructible objects such as cars and fences and continue flying but it takes 25mm of penetration.
If there are several objects each of them take 25mm.
In this situation it will take 25 + 25 mm because it penetrates two sections of the fence.
Some people don't pay attention to the wooden fences but they also take 25 mm as any others.
HE and HEAT shells detonates immediately when they touch any object and don't fly any farther.
Pay attention this sentence from the Wargaming Wikipedia, it's about the armor and not any other objects.
HEAT shell doesn't penetrate a tank even how close it is at the fence.
And the main advantage of HE shell - only it can damage the tank without armor penetration or without hit by splash.
Other types of shells without penetration can damage only external modules.
That's all. About Normalization, Overmatch and Ricochet we will talk in the other video.
Good luck!

Scientists discover new and simple way to stop the spread of melanoma - Duration: 10:01.
Scientists discover new and simple way to stop the spread of melanoma
Australian scientists have made a breakthrough discovery that could increase skin cancer survival rates. Experts from the University of Queensland have uncovered a new and simple method to stop the spread of melanoma, which could have an 'enormous impact' on cancer patients.
By identifying how and when the tumours are formed, scientists have discovered a way to 'switch the cells off' and therefore stop the cancer developing.
Speaking of the new method, Kiarash Khosrotehrani of University of Queensland's Diamantina Institute said: 'It's actually fairly simple.
For tumours to spread, they have to have a blood supply and those blood vessels are the way tumours extend to the other parts of the body.
'Those blood vessels are formed initially by an influx of stem cells and that is the crunch of our study,' he added.
Melanoma, which occurs when the pigment-producing cells that give colour to the skin become cancerous, can be stopped by pinpointing the stem cells that form the blood vessels in a 'new approach that could make [all] the difference'.
'A drug already on the market has been used to slow down the stem cells and effectively stop the whole process of metastasis,' Dr Khosrotehrani said.
'Our research has the potential of offering something to patients, that once we cut a tumour out we can give them something to stop the formation of these blood vessels and the spread of a tumour.
'If we can do that, we can probably improve their survival rate in the long term,' Dr Khosrotehrani added.
Researcher Jatin Patel said melanoma's ability to quickly spread from the skin to other parts of the body was what made it so deadly.
'We know that before tumours spread to places like lymph nodes or lungs, the body starts growing extra blood vessels in these areas - almost as if preparing special 'niches' for the cancer.
'If the body doesn't prepare them, then the cancer won't grow there,' she said. Their next study will focus on blocking the development of these niches.
A clinical trial will be held to test the ability of the drug to stop these stem cells forming blood vessels. In Australia, there are 14,000 new diagnoses of melanoma each year - and almost 2000 deaths from the skin cancer.
The nation has the second highest rate of melanoma in the world. Australian scientists have made a breakthrough discovery that could increase skin cancer survival rates.

How to Create a Simple, Effective Budget - Duration: 1:22.
Many people tend to avoid the B word, budget.
But a budget is really a spending plan that gives you control over your finances by tracking
what comes in and what goes out.
It's that simple and it doesn't need to be fancy.
It could be just two columns titled income and expenses.
Start by tracking all your expenses include essential cost like rent, groceries and medicine
as well as non essential expenses like cable TV, entertainment and travel.
Next, add up all your income such as your salary or paycheck after taxes and any other
income including child support, investment or rental income.
Then subtract your expenses from your income.
A break even or negative number means it's time to take a closer look at cutting non
essentials or trimming where you can.
With a clear picture of your income and expenses you can adjust your spending to begin saving
for important financial goals like an emergency fund, college or retirement.
Review your budget every few months and adjust accordingly.
Your budget should be flexible enough to change with your needs.
