Hi Middle States, my name is Tiffany Nguyen, Pennsylvania state president.

Hi Middle States, I'm Phoebe Perkins, Delaware state president at your service

a.k.a "The Great Equalizer"

And I'm Elda Pere, your New Jersey State President

You can call her cookie queen.

We've been following your chapter's progress during the summer, and we congratulate you

for starting your HIA, college projects, and keeping the region cool during the hot summer

months.

As you know, this year is special for all Phi Theta Kappans.

We celebrate a hundred years of our grand family.

Exciting, isn't it?

Over the last few weeks, we have been brainstorming, discussing, and planning a way to make this

year even more meaningful and memorable, not just for Phi Theta Kappa, but for our community

as a whole.

The way we plan on doing that, is by completing one hundred service projects region-wide.

Every chapter will have a chance to contribute in making this year one of a kind, by planning,

organizing and documenting their service projects during the fall and spring semesters.

And don't forget to take pictures!

Your Middle States Regional Officer team is working hard to make this hundredth year PTK

anniversary the Party of the Century, through service to our communities and our region,

let's give the world a taste of what Phi Theta Kappans are about…

Trump To Have Lunch With Tillerson Following Sec State's Critical Comment

President Donald Trump will have lunch with Secretary of State Rex Tillerson Monday after Tillerson appeared to distance Trump's statements from the nation's values.

The president isn't one to take kindly to criticism, but he has yet to publicly comment on Tillerson's remarks.

The White House schedule for Monday says that Trump and Vice President Pence will have lunch with the secretary of state, and later Trump will host a joint press conference with Finnish President Sauli Niinisto.

Tillerson appeared on "Fox News Sunday" and said that the State Department represents "America's values, our commitment to freedom, our commitment to equal treatment of people the world over, and that message has never changed.

He continued on to say that he doesn't believe "anyone doubts the American people's values," and host Chris Wallace asked, "And the president's values?". Tillerson replied, "The president speaks for himself, Chris.

Wallace asked Tillerson if he was separating himself "from that" and the secretary of state didn't deny that was the case, instead referring to a recent speech he made condemning bigotry.
