News on Youtube Sep 1 2017

Hi everyone!

That's pointless to deny that a modern world lives in a hurry.

Everything is done on the go from reading the news to booking a hotel room for upcoming

holidays.

Since we cannot change our reality, there should be a good and reliable way to make

our everyday routine easier.

Here help our mobile devices!

We are going to discuss how to develop a deserving hotel booking application from scratch not

to get lost among all undeniably great hotel booking services on the market.

Let's get it started!

Well, present-day travellers strive to be independent.

It's a right approach actually, because you yourself can organize the most incredible

vacation ever by choosing a hotel, buying tickets, planning travel routes, etc., on

your own; on the other hand, you are the only person to blame if something goes wrong (but

nobody's going to do so, right?).

As you are here, we can assume that you might be a hotel owner catching up with the latest

technology tendencies, or a generous entrepreneur who wants to help other people to make their

business stronger, or just a crazy enthusiast who dreams about changing the whole world

of travelling; after all, you can be just a curious reader.

Regardless of your intention (undoubtedly great), you need to know several things about

the building of hotel reservation apps.

So let's find what they are!

Travel applications can be conditionally broken down into two groups:

last-minute booking applications beforehand booking applications

Another interesting moment is an area your application will cover.

The perfect way is to make an application collecting accommodation offerings around

the globe.

On the other hand, it's OK if you launch a local hotel booking app first.

For instance, the HotelQuickly caters Asian countries travellers only, providing tourists

with the best last-minute hotel deals around.

Being focused on one area at the start can give you a competitive edge since you can

perfect your app and make it the most required in this area.

Talk about intention, you need to define whether you're going to develop a classic hotel

booking application or something unusual.

Airbnb has recently turned the idea of travelling upside down by allowing tourists to immerse

in a foreign culture by hiring locals apartments.

Backtracker is a product where users can plot their journeys, upload photos, and share their

impressions.

Another popular service mostly focused on travellers reviews is the TripAdvisor app,

where you can find the most attractive place to go on the basis of other travellers reviews.

So you should decide what your should bring to people.

Let's stick to the idea of the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) while making a hotel rooms reservation

app.

Why is it beneficial for you?

You always need to consider that there are a lot of rivals in any industry.

Nobody knows if an app will become popular.

So, your application should have a set of basic features to:

save the time and money (in case it won't catch on with users)

focus on them only and polish the app operation to perfection (to get a positive user experience)

MVP features are the following: #1: Hotel search and reservation

#2: Users personal account #3: Notifications

#4: Settings #5: Payment gateway

If you want to know more about MVP models, you should watch the following video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o7RGVsIWs7g

If you want your hotel booking application to mutate into a travel application, then

you need to know possible ways to help it.

You should add following features: #1: Flights search and reservation

#2: Car rent #3: Where to go

Making the MVP, as we already pointed out, can prevent you from losing your precious

time and money.

Thus, you can launch an app having all the basic features to satisfy customers needs.

Collecting users feedback, you will have an idea how well your app does and how to improve

it in the future.

Its vital to take into account all possible scenarios; so in case the application fails,

you won't lose your shirt (completely) and can start another project with the money saved.

There is one essential thing every person engaged in the mobile development should be

aware of permanent market analysis that makes you a strong player.

Download new applications and watch them for innovations as often as possible to know how

to improve your own product.

People now see the rise of travel applications which makes it difficult for a newcomer to

stand out in the field.

You shouldn't give up because you always have a chance to surprise the world by improving

existing solutions and making up with something new.

My Descendants 2 Hotel Idea: Isle of the Lost (ft. Wotso Videos) - Duration: 6:10.

This week subscriber Patrick Ramos asks "What do you think Disney should do with Discovery

Island and/or River Country?

A couple ideas being destroy it, clear it, make it into a horror attraction like Universal

does."

Well I don't have anything in mind for River Country, but I've got just the idea for

Discovery Island.

Discovery Island is an island that sits in Bay Lake at Walt Disney World.

Up until 1999 it used to be open to guests, who would be able to visit and get to see

the exotic animals that called the island home.

However since all of the animals were relocated to the Animal Kingdom when it first opened,

the island lost its purpose and was subsequently shut down.

There were some ideas floated around regarding what to do with the island, including one

for an interactive attraction based on the PC game Myst, but ultimately nothing came

to fruition and the island has sat abandoned for the last 18 years.

When I first read this question my initial thought was that the best course of action

would be to just let it sit abandoned.

While it's no small island at eleven and a half acres, it's also not big enough for

something like a theme park.

For comparison it would roughly fit Tomorrowland on it.

Similar to the reason it closed, there's also no real nature related use for it that

wouldn't seem redundant with the Animal Kingdom around.

Then I started thinking about the Star Wars hotel.

If Disney's upcoming immersive hotel experience is all it's cracked up to be, we could possibly

be looking at the next generation of themed entertainment.

The idea of guests getting to live out an in-depth experience over a number of days

is an appealing one, and one that reaches far beyond just Star Wars.

So it would make sense they'd probably want to offer more experiences if all goes well.

Well, why not do it on Discovery Island, and why not do it with the Descendants franchise?

More specifically, how about turning Discovery Island into the Isle of the Lost?

To explain what the Isle of the Lost is, I'll have fellow YouTuber Isaac, from Wotso Videos take it from here.

Trapped in my a magical barrier, the inhabitants of the island turn it into their own run down industrial society.

In the first film the four main character: Mal, Evie, Jay, and Carlos

the offspring of Maleficent, the Evil Queen, Jafar, and Cruella Deville

are running the island until they are the first to have the opportunity to leave to the mainland.

On the mainland, known as the Kingdom of Auradon, the villain kids go to school with a variety of Disney heroes & sidekicks.

While most of the first film was focused on the mainland, the second film heavily shows us the

Isle of the Lost, allowing us to meet new characters like Uma, the daughter of Ursula

and allows us to see cool new locations like Mal's hideout and Uma's pirate ship.

This is a really cool location with a lot of Imagineering potential.

Similar to the films, the experience can be centered around musical and dance performances

rather than rides.

Like the Star Wars hotel, the stay on the Isle of the Lost would be a fixed 2 nights

with a narrative that plays out over those few days, and guests would partake in that

narrative through a set of various activities.

These can range from mock battles at the docks, to maybe a villain styled version of the sport,

Tourney, from the first film, to scavenger hunts that span the entire island.

All of these can then be split up by musical numbers that, much like musical numbers in

films, progress the story along.

Of course the experience wouldn't have to exist on just the island itself.

Much in the same way the Star Wars hotel experience will carry over to Star Wars Land, the narrative

for the Isle of the Lost can continue on in the Magic Kingdom.

Whether it's through an interactive game like Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom or character

meetups, you can spread it out throughout the whole park: Jafar in Adventureland, Ursula

in New Fantasyland, Hook by Peter Pan's Flight.

You get the idea.

Speaking of character meetups, the island could also offer plenty of character meet & greets.

Beyond the villains and their kids from the Isle, the narrative can work in an excuse

for some of the citizens of Auradon to visit the island so that guests can meet characters

like the Fairy Godmother, Belle, the Beast, and more.

Guests would be able to stay in rooms similar in style to Mal's place from the second

film, with perhaps a premium option for suites that are specifically modeled as the apartments

for different characters.

During the day they can eat at locations such as Ursula's Fish and Chips, and shop for

souvenirs at Jafar's Junk Shop.

And if guests want to really get in character, the island could also offer its own Descendant's

styled version of Bippity Boppity Boutique modeled after Lady Tremaine's Curl Up and

Dye from the second film, with everything from clothes to a complete makeover.

Finally, the weekend long narrative can culminate in a water and firework show off the east

coast that involves an impressive musical number and maybe the dragon version of Mal

fighting a giant transformed Uma, or some other villain specific to the story.

Think Fantasmic, but Descendants themed.

I mean, it's a rough idea, but I think the Isle of the Lost from the Descendants seems

like a great fit for Discovery Island.

It would expand a world that appears to be pretty popular and offer an alternative to

the Sci-Fi immersive experience of the Star Wars hotel.

So that's my idea, but what about yours?

How would you go about designing a Descendants themed island in Disney World?

Alternatively, what else would you do with Discovery Island?

Let me know in the comments below, and be sure to leave any questions you have for future

episodes down there as well.

I want to thank Isaac of Wotso Videos for helping me out with this video.

If you're a fan of the Descendants films, and want to learn more about the characters

and their backstory I highly suggest you check out his channel.

Beyond just the Descendants he has videos with some fantastic and in-depth analysis

of characters and films under the Disney banner.

Australian politician 'targeted by massage scam' at New York hotel - Duration: 1:46.

An Australian politician has said he was targeted by a blackmail scam after booking a massage to a New York hotel.

Gareth Ward, a New South Wales assembly member, said he was confronted by two "aggressive" visitors at his room.

They began filming him before demanding a "quantity of money", US police said. Mr Ward said in a statement: "I asked for a

massage - but when it became clear that more was on offer, I asked them to leave and then they became aggressive demanding money.

"I reported the matter to police and the matter is subject to investigation. The ordeal was frightening."

Mr Ward told Australian media that he had booked a "normal, standard massage" through a local website for $100.

Two men then arrived at his room at the Intercontinental Hotel on Tuesday, where he was staying on leave following a business trip.

"They said to me, 'We are underage, we will put this on the internet unless you give us money,'" he told the Australian Broadcasting Corporation,

which reported the demand was $1,000 (£750; A$1,250). Mr Ward said he escaped by going downstairs

and alerting hotel staff, having told the men he planned to withdraw money. A spokesman for the New York Police Department

said the pair then fled. The matter was being investigated but no-one had been arrested, the spokesman said.
