Welcome to this short review of the newest United Bricks Minifigures.
In the last video, I actually promised to show my entire WW2 army.
But because I am still waiting for some products I have to set this video back for a while
But the waiting will be worth it and you will defiantly see some surprises.
Because of that, I will review some of the newest releases from United Bricks today.
Let´s jump right into it!
In total, I received five different LEGO custom minifigures which are all from different time periods.
To start off we have two soldiers from the American Civil War, so from the middle of the 19th century.
Both opposing parties, so the Union states and the Southern states, receive one unique minifigure.
The Union soldier is equipped with the famous dark blue uniform and his sand blue pants.
The pants are really nicely printed, typical for United Bricks.
But I don´t really like the torso design.
It is just a little too dark and the buttons could stand out a little bit more.
Only the US belt buckle is striking enough.
But I really like that both minifigures are side printed.
By the way, all five minifigures are of extremely high quality.
And I really like the face design of all of them.
The Union soldier is also equipped with a LEGO hat and a Brickarms Musket.
The same goes for the Confederate Soldier.
In my opinion, all the details are much more recognizable on this figure.
Overall I really like this minifigure.
It is a little bit simple but for me, this is not a disadvantage.
I also like the amazing face printing.
If we switch to the bank robber and the policemen we can see a similar problem as before.
I think you can´t really detect all the details on a black LEGO torso.
I like the pants, the back, and the arms but I am not a huge fan of the front.
Technically you can only see the contours of the different details because all of them are simply black.
Of course, this is realistic. A real SWAT soldier is not colorful but on this figure, it does not look very good.
But one thing I really love is the balaclava.
It is nicely done and I haven´t seen any better version yet.
The bank robber has a similar looking balaclava.
But it is not exactly the same design which is quite laudable.
Gladly the robber is wearing a white shirt and a blood red tie.
This gives the minifigure a little more color.
Because of that, I like him much more than his opponent, even he has a much more simple design.
The custom printed banknote is really cool. Definitely a nice extra and it looks even better than original LEGO notes.
But my favorite figure is clearly the Japanese Officer from World War 2.
This one also comes with a nice packaging and a really cool collectors card.
This minifigure is equipped with a brickarms pistol and a LEGO Katana.
The Torso looks amazing and you can find a lot of details like pockets, a holster, and a water bottle.
The boots are really nice and you can easily take off the sun curtains.
This figure also wears a LEGO hat.
I definitely like this figure the most. You can vote now which one is your favorite.

Moto X4 (Android One Edition) Review - Duration: 11:17.
What's going on everyone Mitesh here and today
I have for you guys my full review of the Android one edition of the Moto X4. Now in this review
I'm going to be mainly covering the
performance of the phone the
Cameras and then the things that I found, after using it for a couple weeks, the things that I really liked and disliked about this
phone. If you guys are looking for more the specs and all that stuff I did in another video about it so you guys can
Check it out. I'll have a linked up here in the card, so yeah without further ado. Let's go ahead and get started
All right, so let's start off by talking about the performance of this phone
And if you're like me and you've never used a budget phone before I think you would be pleasantly surprised at how good
This phone is in terms of performance
So I think it's a combination of the Snapdragon 630 in this and the stock Android that just lets this thing
fly through everything you do on a day-to-day basis
So whether that's reading social media posting social media browsing the web watching YouTube videos watching Netflix all of that is just
Seamless on this I've never had this thing slow down when I'm trying to do any of that stuff in fact even doing things like
multitasking so having split screen on this phone works
perfectly so I had YouTube videos and
Was browsing the internet and everything just worked perfectly when I touch either one of the apps there was no slowdown
Whatsoever so yeah in terms of performance. I have been really impressed by this thing in fact
The only time I even noticed that it was a little bit slower than my pixel two was when I had them next to each
Other and I was trying to open up apps at the same time
I could tell that the Moto just did not open them as fast and that's
Gonna be due to the Snapdragon 630 versus the Snapdragon 835. But yeah, I think if you're getting this in for performance. It's fantastic
Now of course the fact that it's running Android 8.0. Means you don't have to worry about being behind
You don't have to worry about security patches and all that because it's up to date
Being an Android one phone is I think a huge plus in just having the latest features on your phone
So even coming from the pixel - I could definitely see myself switching over this phone full time and have no issues whatsoever
except for the camera and more on that in a little bit
But before that I want to talk about the battery life on this so
Because of the Snapdragon 630 and the three gigabytes of RAM. This as a great battery life
It's much better than my pixel 2 anyways the battery life on this can last easily over a day
It also supports quick charge 3.0
so it charges much faster than my pixel 2 does so
Yeah in terms of that
I actually much prefer using this phone because I know it won't die out on me and finally before moving on to cameras I want
To talk a little bit about the display so the display on this is of course LCD now
It's almost always a better to have an OLED display, but honestly
I would rather take a good LCD display over a bad OLED, and this is a great LCD display, so it's a 1080p screen
It's 5.2 inches and the colors on it aren't the most accurate, but there are a couple different modes
You can pick if you like the phone to be a little bit warmer color you can do that or cooler
And then you can also boost the colors if you prefer that look so it's nice to be able to at least have those options
The only place you're ever gonna notice that it's not an LCD display is at night when you have the Moto display turn on
The nice thing about it on the pixel, too
Is that when you have the always-on display?
It's just those pixels lit up, but on this thing the entire screen lights up so even though. It is a very dark color
It's still you can see that the entire display is lit up. So that's the only place
I really noticed and it's an LCD vs.
An an OLED display and actually there's one other place that I noticed it's an LCD display
And it's the fact that when I have my polarized sunglasses on when I put this thing in landscape
I can't treat the screen at all now
This is something that I didn't particularly know about I had to do a little bit of research
But it turns out that although CDs put out polarized light
And then if you have polarized sunglasses at certain angles the polarized light will meet it, and then yeah
You won't be able to see anything on it, but it's the case with all LCD displays
So if you have polarized sunglasses yeah, and certain angles this display may not work out for you
But but really I don't feel like it's something that comes up that much and then this is the case with all LCD display
So I'm not really gonna knock it down for that alright
So finally let's talk about the cameras on this thing so there are three cameras on this total
so there's two in the back and the front-facing camera so
I'll be honest all of the cameras on this phone are just okay
They're actually pretty good, but when you're comparing some like the pixel two
It's a little hard to find these to be that great now
I will be honest they take great pictures when you have good lighting, but when you have a bad lighting
They all tend to struggle a little bit
So let's wrap up by talking about the main camera so the main camera is a 12 megapixel sensor
It's got a regular focal length and that one does
really well especially the HDR when a chair turns on this thing actually takes some pretty pleasant pictures even with the wide-angle lens but the
HDR on you get some really really nice pictures even indoors if you have good lighting you can get some fantastic
pictures out of this
But when you get to low light situations it starts to break down quite a bit and another thing
I want to know is the camera system on this is not the fastest the shutter lag it can be
Quite high especially if you're taking a bunch of HDR pictures in a row the Snapdragon 62 just can't quite keep up with it
so on my pixel 2
it's just like you can just keep touching a button as many times as you want and just
constantly taking pictures whereas on
This phone it takes a second to take it if you take three pictures in a row with that our HDR
It takes a while before it lets you take another picture so that's something to definitely note now
Let's talk a little bit about the wide-angle sensor, and I'll be honest
I really prefer the wide-angle sensor to having a telephoto sensor
But I'm really usually trying to get more things in the shop versus less
And this thing really helps in doing that indoors, though
You are gonna see a lot of lens distortion
So you're gonna see on the edges of the picture that it's just very curved on both sides
Outdoors usually don't have this issue because it's everything so far apart
It's usually fine now in terms of optical image stabilization this thing has none, so
Video wise you're gonna be seeing some pretty shaky videos
It's actually not that bad here so a couple clips so you guys can see from the regular and the wide-angle lens so yeah in
Terms of video I still things it takes a really good video
It does 4k after 30 frames per second, so that's always good in terms of budget phones
I think this camera is really good it
Also has a lot of different modes built into it if you guys are interested in that so it has a portrait mode
And I'll be honest
I have not been able to get the portrait mode to work at all, so I'm not gonna talked about that one very much
But it's got a couple other cool modes that you can try out so it's got this nice cutout mode
So you can take a picture of someone and it will basically cut them out of the scene it works relatively
well
It's also got a spot color one so you can drain the picture of all colors except for one so
That's a nice little feature to have built in I know a lot of people like that filter
And then of course you can do things like slow motion and also have face filters
I don't see many people using this more than like one time, but it was fun to try it out at least now
let's move on to the front-facing camera so the front facing camera is a
16 megapixel sensor, and it's just okay most of the pictures
I got out of it are really
Soft even when I took the beauty mode on which is on by default the pictures just came out really soft
And I'm just not sure why
Especially when you have a 16 megapixel sensor, I think you'd come out detailed and sharp
But no, it's all the pictures were just pretty soft out of it now the front-facing that does have a front-facing flash
and I
Recommend that nobody use that because it will look terrible
Compared to the pixel 2 though when I took it like with nearly no light you're at least gonna get a selfie out of this
Versus with the pixel 2 you're gonna get something that doesn't look that great alright
So this is a look at your front-facing camera and action on the mother 4. It's pretty good
You can in fact turn on a flashlight
Am I exactly sure how oh there you go see?
It's I don't think I can
really hard to tell but you can even have the flashlight on in the front so if you guys do a lot of selfies or
You do a lot of vlogging with the front-facing camera. It works pretty. Well, so yeah, that's it for the cameras
I think for a budget phone these cameras are actually pretty good budget phones
this is the one part where they really struggle is with the camera so if you guys are looking for a great camera if you're
Trying to create content with this yeah
Then you're gonna want to spend the money to get something like a pixel 2 or an iPhone 10 or a Galaxy S 9
Something that has a great camera and at this point all those flagship mobile phones. That's what they're selling you is the great camera
Alright, so let's finish off this review by doing my favorite part of it
Which is all that miscellaneous stuff that I liked and disliked about this device that
Really doesn't fit into a category and I have a list here, so I'm just gonna read a little bit of these off so
Number one is the fact that this thing has a headphone jack you guys it has a headphone jack
It's something that I've missed on my pixel, too
I don't miss it so much that I really complain about on a day-to-day basis
But like once you go to a device that has a headphone jack. You just realize how?
Convenient it is so yeah. I know it's a lost battle, but I like the fact that this has a headphone jack
Next up is the fact that this thing is ip68 water and dust resistant
That's something
That usually see on higher-end phones, and it's good to see that budget phones are starting to get it think of something that should be
Available on most phones and hopefully in the next couple years
It won't because I mean
These things are already fragile as it is the fact that a little bit of rain can mess one of these up is
Just kind of stupid
Next up is the fact that this thing has a single front facing speaker so uh
This this is a this is not so much alike and dislike
It's kind of in between so I would love it if this thing had dual front facing
speakers like my pixel two does but it doesn't but I'm glad that it doesn't that they opted to have a
Single front facing speaker versus having a bottom firing speakers
I really dislike bottom firing speakers because they're so easy to cover up and this one has a really good front facing speaker
Next up is the fingerprint sensor
So I think it complained a little bit about the fingerprint sensor in my first video is the fact that?
It's not a home button
It's just a fingerprint sensor
And then you can also use it to turn off the screen like that
Now the biggest problem that I have with this is that?
Sometimes when I'm getting it out of my pocket my palm will brush against it
And it is trying to register that so my biggest complaint is
I just wish that this thing was a little bit more recessed so that when I'm taking out on my pocket
It doesn't see those as attempted
Unlocks and then sometimes I've had it actually locked me out of the phone before because I just didn't my hand just brush it
Too many times and encountered all those as attempts to unlock
And then finally something that I'm really annoyed by about and it's the fact that this is a glass phone
And there's no wireless charging. I mean seriously
What's the point of a glass phone with no wireless charging like there's absolutely no point?
I don't think anybody can convince me that there is a point to having a glass phone with no wireless charging, but yeah
Those are some of the things that I found in my time using this phone that I really liked and this like alright

ban on women in the ring.
The association is facing some pretty strong backlash for kicking female first responders
out of the ring while they were trying to revive an official who had collapsed.
Sumo is closely linked to ancient Shinto rites; women aren't allowed in the ring, or dohyo,
because they're traditionally considered "ritually unclean."
After the women were ordered to leave, salt was thrown in the ring as an act of purification.
Just days later, a female mayor was banned from giving a speech in the ring.
Instead she had to speak beside it and said: "Female mayors are also humans.

with this what I want to say is that
if you like the design and colors of this one
if you find it at a good price (60€)
grab it
if you are not sure
I think is a better option the Forclaz 40 Air +
lets change stuff to see capacity
there is still a lot of space
therefore I insist
as a light backpack
for a couple of days
even for a day hike

Have you ever played a game that
Captivated and hooked you within the first five minutes of hitting the start game button whether it was the artistic choices
the writing or humor or even a clever tutorial for me this was the adventure pals the adventure pals is a
cartoony action-packed hack and slash
platformer game with some RPG elements
sprinkled in there that can either be played solo or with a friend and local co-op mode the game was developed by massive monster and
Published by armored game studio, so let's begin our story with focusing on the story
I think what I admire most about this game is how?
Absolutely absurd and silly the premises sometimes we all need to unwind and play a game like this or at the very least
Experience it similar to unwinding by binge watching cartoons on a lazy weekend morning
It was obvious to me from the get-go that massive monster had to have been heavily inspired by cartoons like
adventure time or even gravity falls also
I could tell that developers liked the behemoth were the creators of Castle Crashers
battleblock theater and most recently pit people were a massive influence to them as well everything from their visuals down to their quick-witted humor when
I mentioned this in a tweet massive monster replied the behemoth are a massive inspiration to us
We also started out making games on Newgrounds, so it's awesome to be compared to them
They are just super awesome the mood and tone is set for us within the first two minutes of gameplay when your Poppa
leads you to a surprise birthday gift you travel through a
Well-designed little tutorial with a couple funny jokes in between until you finally arrive at your present a cake
He tells you that the gift is actually baked inside the cake and instead of blowing out the candles
He wants you to blow up
The cake with a bomb that he previously gave you after taking a few guesses as to what's inside the cake everything from a naughty
Dancer to a bean bag filled with kittens you blow up the cake and inside you discover your first pal a pet your app that
You named sparkles however soon after your birthday is ruined when an uninvited guest by the name of mr.
B shows up and dad NAB's your Poppa and like all great villains in the past mr.
B unveils all the details of his
Plans right then and there he is stealing all the old people across the world to turn them into hotdogs
Why because of raisins now the adventure truly begins you a young boy named Wilton and your pals?
Sparkles the giraffe and your best friend who is a pet. Rock appropriately named mr.
Rock set out on an insane and wacky adventure filled with hack and slash action
platforming bizarre and weird enemies and big bad bosses all in the name of friendship
Hot dogs and saving the world to me the two crucial
Fundamentals in any good platformer are tight and good controls and good level design
Fortunately for the adventure pals this game has both now
I heard some people say that the character felt a bit too floaty at times although floaty controls aren't inherently bad in all platformer games
Say for instance or in the blind forest
I can't say that I completely agree that the character feels floaty in the Avenger pals
I even tested out the control response time in a few instances
And found them to be fairly tight and while we're on the subject of controls
I admire that massive monster didn't over complicate things
And they just kept it simple along with tapping to jump you can also hold it down to get a bit higher off ground
Not a problem due to my super duper high Tech's spinny giraffe tongue thingy
so yeah tap to jump then press and hold it again to have sparkles your draft perform a
Helicopter move with her tongue. This seriously has to be one of my most favorite things about this game
There's also only one button for combat
But you can perform combos for maximum butt-kicking efficiency and lastly you have a button to access the items in your backpacks
Inventory and another to use set item
I found that the level design was really excellent first off the bright and colorful hand-drawn visuals make for awesome. Eye
Candy, but is not too distracting in every level
There are five separate stages if you're not too concerned with
Collecting everything you could finish each stage in about five to ten minutes
Or so the levels progressively get harder and harder as the game continues
And I found that they also became increasingly more confusing to navigate towards the end I can only assume that this is done on purpose
to drive completionists like myself insane obviously not
It's just good level design
Aside from branching paths found in each level in stage there are also plenty of and he's bearing a difficulty in
Brilliant obstacles to trip you up along the way
I can only hope that the devs come up with some sort of level editor like the one found in the behemoths battleblock theater
So fans like us can have non-stop adventure pals fun
Every level has a total of five cupcakes to collect one in each stage and one sticker pack hidden somewhere once you have a total
Of five cupcakes collected you can bring them to the cupcake King and he'll poop out an egg with a random cosmetic for either you
Or mr.. Rockin side also might. I have that the cosmetics you get from mr.
Rock are just so insanely adorable that I couldn't help
But just say Oh
Out loud almost
Every single time the stickers you find or for you're talking sentient sticker book aside from finding one in each level you could also purchase
Them from vendors that are scattered across the world by obtaining them from certain quests or winning them in the arena
And I played the Steam version of this game, so I don't know if this is just exclusive to Steam only
But there are lots of fun stickers for other amazing indie games like hollow Knight
And holy potatoes a weapon shop when defeating enemies you get both gold and XP by collecting enough XP
You'll eventually level up and have the choice between
Three random abilities and gold is used for a few different things found in every level art chests some chests are free and provide even
More gold in other chests you have to actually pay gold to open it
There's also other chests to be found like the kind that grants you certain combat attributes for example critical hit electricity fire damage
and there's even one that fires out Turtles from your sword side francese gold is used to purchase goodies from vendors like a
variety of different bombs
Potions and more although you can't buy new weapons your sword will change appearance each time you level up
We already discussed the story and some of the excellent level design
But how is the actual gameplay and overall mechanics to sum up the overall gameplay?
You need to continuously find rubies, which are found at the end of each level to pay a ransom to mr.
B aside from this there are various different quests and goals to accomplish throughout your adventure
And even fighting in the arenas at one point
I had to collect a bunch of berries for a laid back Fox and another time
I had to collect blueprints for a talking toast. I who was enslaved by a tyrant
Tyrannosaurus Rex and now they've created a secret underground group called the dough uprising I swear
I am
Making this stuff off that being said I found the gameplay to be very rewarding whether it was getting the next adorable
Cosmetic or obtaining the next quest I found that I was always curious to see what was next you will navigate the world by riding
On your pet traps back in traversing five distinct Maps in each map you can find levels as well as shops
Villages and secrets hidden about like I said there are five distinct worlds in total and each one brings new enemies
mechanics characters quest bosses and more and one thing I'd like to really highlight here in this review is the
Outstanding character design you can really tell how much love was poured into this game by the devs from just the characters alone each
individual character in NPC has their own look and attitude
You don't really spend that much time with the NPC's so the fact I became so enamored with them in such a short time
Really speaks to the overall design on your adventure
you'll meet a group of laid back boxes that are in a band a male man who eats his mail an
adorable insecure whale toast people a lazy tyrant t-rex king a
Fancy burrito in so many more adorable lovable and admire Balearic ters as the story progresses
You are introduced to more and more game mechanics the pacing of these mechanics are slow and steady
And I found that I wasn't too
Overwhelmed by them the game gives you enough time to master the last mechanics or obstacle before throwing a new one your way these
Mechanics vary from using your giraffe as a grappling hook shooting yourself out of a toaster
Sliding down a wire on your bum guiding a lost flying cat to its cat pad to activate mechanisms like locked doors using your giraffes
Helicopter tongue to propel you underwater and so many more fun and interesting mechanics
This is the type of game that you could play in short bursts or get lost in four hours
The gameplay starts off simple and quite easy to be honest
But as the game progresses the difficulty level becomes increasingly more challenging
It's not too Hardware casual gamers would put the game down in frustration
But also not too easy where hardcore gamers would grow bored and also I wanted to note that not once did I experience any bugs?
or technical problems while playing the adventure pals
This is a polished platformer with rewarding calm and tight controls overall I had a ton of fun playing this action-packed
Cartoony platformer I loved everything from the upbeat music and awesome sound design the excellent level design the story was
hilarious in silly and wacky
Adorable and lovable characters in fast action-packed gameplay if you are a fan of platformer games at all or even
behemoth style games or just a lover of cartoons in general I'd say give adventure pals a shot at the very least it might just
Make you laugh, or smile. I know it did that and then some for me
I give adventure pals 4 out of 5 stars
I am really looking forward to seeing what massive monster does next and I hope with all this positive feedback
They've been receiving about this game encourage them to do that sooner rather than later

we finally got some comfortable attractive rattan furniture for the deck
it's a patio set by Viva Home.this Viva Home patio furniture set includes two
chairs with cushions a sofa also with the cushion and a rattan wicker table
with a tempered glass top looks like great seating for four people yes yeah
this material looks like it would be really easy to clean and leather
yeah rattan is great for that the color is great it would match almost anything
goes perfect on the deck
the rattan wicker sofa is about 40.5 inches long and 23.6 inches in depth
it's um appears to be very sturdy but it's it's
not heavy its lightweight it really is the perfect size where it's comfortable
for two people to sit but it does not dominate the deck very nice now the
chairs the two identical chairs are twenty three point six by twenty three
point six inches and they also have a nice comfortable cushion the cushions
are weather resistant and they have a zipper for easy cleaning the table
measures twenty eight point three five inches long by a sixteen point five
inches in width and it's about 15 inches high and it has tempered glass and the
top comes off so check it off it's got suction cups there to hold it and you
get I guess you if you wanted to clean both sides you could take it off fairly
easily

directly with hotels. People occasionally ask me about the Hotel Tonight app which advertises
amazing rates on last-minute bookings. You can use this app in cities all over the world,
but since this channel is about Washington DC
it made the most sense for me to test it out here; and before we get into the specifics if you watch this video and

I'm going to explain what the Hotel Tonight app is and how it works.

The video. With all of that said let's get started... Hotel tonight isn't
actually new; it's been around
since 2010. When it launched the premise was simple: the business model for a hotel is to sell all of their rooms at the highest
price the customers are willing to pay; but reality is a lot more complicated than that, and a lot of times hotels wind up with
unsold rooms. If a hotel has rooms that it wasn't able to sell by that last day
they would put them on Hotel Tonight and sell them off at a discount. From the hotel's perspective
it's better to sell the room for a little money than to have it go vacant and make no money. This
concept was not new in 2010. Priceline and
Hotwire had been allowing travelers to book hotel rooms for very cheap rates for almost a decade before.
However in the case of those two sites you are going in
completely blind. The exact hotel that you booked wasn't actually revealed until after you paid.
Hotel tonight took the surprise out of the equation by allowing you to book exactly the hotel that you want.
They started by allowing the same day or
"tonight" bookings as their name suggests, then they expanded to 7 days and now they've expanded it to 100 days.
So at the time that I'm making this video you can book a room through the Hotel Tonight app
almost three months in advance of your trip. Now, the downside to this is that Hotel Tonight
suffers from a lot of the same problems that Priceline and Hotwire have always had. For example all bookings are
prepaid and 100%
non-refundable. Hotel Tonight claims that this is necessary in order to offer these great rates. For you what this means is that if you can't
make your trip for whatever reason, you aren't getting your money back. The next big limitation is that Hotel Tonight only
guarantees rooms for two adults. The reason for this is that hotels are basically
unloading all of their leftover rooms after their primary customers have checked in. If the only rooms
they have left are the ones with one bed in them, then that's what you're getting. This could easily be a deal breaker for
families or anyone who needs to guarantee more than one bed. Now, some listings on Hotel Tonight will let you actually choose
how many beds you want in your room, but in my testing in Washington DC
almost all of the ones that I came across use the
"Selected by Hotel" option. The last caveat is that
Hotel Tonight
charges extra fees and they're kind of hidden. The way that you can find out what the fees are going to be is to book
your hotel almost all the way through. On the last screen you can tap the question mark next to "taxes and fees"
Hotel tax in Washington DC is 14.5%
so on a $300 booking like the one in this example,
that would be $43.50, but the reason why it's showing up as
$47.34 is because they're charging tax on top of Hotel Tonight's fees.
Which by my calculation is another $24.50. Now on the other hand
I also looked at rooms on here where there's almost no fee, so it's unclear to me
how Hotel Tonight comes up with these fees and why they're so inconsistent,
but the point
of all of this is just to say that you should always double-check that fee
before booking; because if the fee is really high than what looked like a really great deal might be a less of a great deal.
All right, with all the caveats out of the way
let's get into my testing... I ran this test on Tuesday March 6th, 2018
and I tested four different sets of dates: one night tonight;
two nights during the upcoming weekend; five nights a month out; and five nights about three months out. For each set of dates
I took the first five hotels that came up on the hotel tonight app and
then I compared it against the lowest rate that I could find on that hotel's website as if I were booking
directly, so that includes the non-refundable prepaid rates that the hotel offers as well. And for simplicity
I'm only comparing the advertised rates, not
Including the taxes and fees, so you really need to be careful about that when you're using this app for real. For the first test,
tonight, I found discounts on all five results ranging from a modest 7% to a fairly generous
33%. For the upcoming weekend test the results were quite a bit more mixed. Three of the hotels were discounted through the app,
one was exactly the same price as if you'd booked direct,
and one was actually more if you booked it through the app.
Testing a month out the results get even wilder, with one hotel being slightly more expensive
through the app and another being almost half price
through the app. And the same thing goes for the test for the dates three months out. The discounts ranged from a modest
10% to almost half off.
I was actually really surprised by these results,
so much, so that I wanted to run the tests again a week later and what I found were actually very similar results.
I won't spend time getting into it in this video, but if you want to see them
I will leave a link to a blog post in the description with all of this data.
And finally the moment of truth. Would I recommend this app?...
It depends. The biggest pro to the Hotel Tonight app is obviously the discounts. I was honestly shocked at how big some of these discounts
were, even when looking at dates pretty far into the future; however
I realized afterwards that my test is flawed because it's really not a true apples to apples comparison.
What I mean by that is that when I search for dates in Hotel Tonight it returned about 15 hotels each time,
but there are over a hundred hotels in Washington DC.
So say the last time you came to town you stayed at the Renaissance
and you absolutely loved it. If you open the app put in your dates,
and the Renaissance isn't on the list then you can't book it through the app.
But the two biggest cons in my opinion are that the rates are all non-refundable
and you don't get control over the type of room that you get. So my personal travel preference will continue to be booking refundable rates
directly with hotels. This gives you the maximum
flexibility in
planning your trip because remember if a rate drops after you've booked it or another hotel is running a sale,
you can always cancel your original booking and make a new one. And lastly, when you use any third party booking service
including Hotel Tonight, it can really complicate things if
anything goes wrong. On the other hand I can definitely see some value for some kinds of travelers,
I'm thinking specifically of the solo traveler or the couple
who doesn't need to guarantee that their room has more than one bed, or a last minute traveler who just doesn't care about the flexibility
of having a refundable rates. So if you do want to try it out

Avengers: Infinity War - Movie Review (No Spoiler) - Duration: 6:20.
Well, Hello everyone! Back at it again with movies review with me,
right now i'm gonna review one of the most anticipated movies,
which is Avengers: Infinity War.
I'm excited, you're excited, we're excited.
Don't worry, no spoiler ahead because Thanos told me not to.
So, i guarantee no spoiler!
10 years for waiting this movie.. started by Iron Man and it is really worth the wait and beyond expectation.
Directed by Russo Brothers and played by all superheroes in MCU,
i'm talking about one hundred superheros here.
If you watch the trailer, this movie is about Thanos trying to collect all the Infinity Stones.
In this movie you will cry from the pleasure, you will cry from epicness
and you will definitely cry from heartbreaking scenes.
Because every scenes are on a whole different levels,
but still part by part is interesting to watch and breath-taking.
Everything about this movie is worth it. I have my own expectations for this movie,
and i always wondered how the Russo brothers will handled a movie with the bunch of superheroes
from differents planets, different stories, and different styles?
But guess what, Russo Brothers nailed it.
This is beyond my expectation. REALLY, Beyond of it.
Finally after awhile, now we really have a competitive villain who really work on it,
making the movie all about him.
And we really don't know what will happen after this, clearly i have no idea what will happen.
I walked out of theatre shaking, wondering, wanting more, full of questions in my head.
Like what i've just said before, this is not what i was expect, it's emotional, epic and incredible.
It plays with your emotions A LOT.
But of course I can not talk more about it because no spoilers
and i don't want to ruin it for anybody.
Thanos is the best villain ever, no doubt.
Played by Josh Brolin, he is such an incredible actor.
He was intimidating and vicious, it's chaotic.
This is the villain who has a goals, his motivation is so clear
and that's why people love Thanos so much even though he is the bad guy here.
It is because you can side with his thoughts,
you can both agree and disagree at the same time, you can feel his sadness too.
I think this is the first time where i saw the villain and i'm thinking
"please stop this and let them live happily ever after",
instead of "oh no you didn't. avengers will kick the f*** out of you."
because when Thanos is there, no one's is safe.
These characters are what audiences exactly want.
Like what Paul Bettany claims,
Marvel Cinematic Universe really did a great job about doing the characters
because what really important on this whole movie is the characters.
It was so great to see every characters in this movie got their moment
and you did not see members of the cast trying to one up each other.
They are from differents world, differents backstories, but all of them has a one goal.
And even though this movie will include all superheroes, but it's not confusing or flustered,
the movie is just two and half hours but it didn't feel like it was.
Actually, they can put 3 hours and to be honest i will still enjoying it.
And I am actually hate CGI characters but they've made Thanos and Black Order
seems so real and enjoyable.
But, some elements in this movie don't work quite as well.
Some characters that you've expected to be right in front,
well actually no, they're not.
This movie could be the best Marvel movie ever,
because it is already the huge cultural phenomenon right now.
They worked really hard, 10 years it's plot hinted throughout 18 other movies,
it features more than 70 characters, each with their own complex backstories and motivations.
Probably I will watching it again next weeks but from now on i will give it...
10 out of 10.
Because if I don't, I would betraying myself. They really, really did a great job after all these 10 years.
It is really worth the wait.

Anytime Fitness Franchise Review and Cost - Duration: 8:49.
. What a great business - you just invest and sit back as the money
rolls in. But is that really the case? Today, lets take a critical look at the Anytime Fitness
Franchise.
So let me start by saying that there are owners that have done very well with their Anytime
Fitness Franchise. When the model works, it works well and you can have a relatively passive
business that provides predictable income.
Now that's the side you will hear from the franchise, but as always we like to give you
the other side of the story so you can make an educated decision.
Taken from their brand new 2018 FDD the cost to open an Anytime Fitness center will range
between $131,002 and $722,796. Keep in mind that number includes your operating capital
for the first 3 months, and assumes you will be leasing your gym equipment. If you buy
your equipment count on about $140,000 on top of that number. There is also the option
for an Anytime Fitness Express location which we won't cover today. You will pay a $549
monthly fee to Anytime Fitness, a general advertising fee of $300 monthly and you will
be required to invest between $8,000-$18,000 on a Grand Opening and Ramp up Program when
you first open up. You will pay a fee of 50 cents for each member of your club monthly
for the Anytime Health membership, to a maximum of $225 for a single location or $675 a month
if you have multiple locations. There is a global access fee of $249 per month. Training
suite fees are $149 per center.
So those are the fees, but how much can you make with an Anytime Fitness Franchise? The
2018 Item 19 financials in Anytime Fitness FDD provide suggested earnings for 500, 865
and 1150 member scenarios. The earnings BEFORE debt expense, depreciation, interest and taxes
are $9,900 for a 500 member location, and if you read the fine print that number assumes
you are working at the center yourself. If you have installed a manager from when you
opened you will not be making that amount. Next level is $99,800 for an 865 member location,
and these following numbers do assume you now have a a manager and $192,000 for an 1150
member location. Keep in mind that representation assumes that all members stay for a full year
with zero attrition or zero new ,members, which is not realistic. These numbers were
based on an estimated value of $371.90 per year per member, and a club size and approximate
cost related to 5000 sf But how many members will an average club have? Well if we look
again at the item 19 in the FDD we see Anytime Fitness gives the average of 697 monthly paying
members, and a median of 646. Pay per visit members average count was was 168 and median
was 101. The lowest membership in their system was 177 the highest was 3316. So essentially
these numbers paint the picture in your mind that the 697 paying members plus pay per visit
of 168 gives us the average of 865 members so we can expect $99,800. Pretty good right?
And if you are emotionally driven through the FDD thats the only number you will see.
But read the fine print more closely and there are other considerations you need to understand
such as paragraph 6 in the Item 19 relating to training income. This is important as certain
clubs who did not report personal training income of at least $1500 monthly were just
not included in the numbers. So underperforming PT locations were removed from the figures,
and remember franchisors have the ability to present these numbers to you any way they
like. Also remember this number is before debt expense, depreciation, interest and taxes.
As always make sure you have read and understand all the points in the FDD and have a competent
franchise lawyer advise you.
Now the growth of Anytime Fitness has been strong with almost 400 new locations opening
in the past 3 years. Litigation is almost zero which is really amazing for a franchise
of this size. But hold on 400 locations opening that sounds
like no locations have closed doesnt it? A quick Google of the words Anytime Fitness
Closed will prove otherwise Now one of the initiatives we conduct with our clients is
to contact people who closed their locations, their names will be listed in the FDD, and
ask them what happened. You dont just want to speak to franchisees who are doing well.
This is how we make an educated and balanced franchise buying decision, not by fixating
on only the positives. All franchises have some obstacles or negatives you need to be
aware of those and be confident you can overcome them.
Now if you are seriously considering buying a gym franchise I want to bring your attention
to the operational model for a second. Now the goal if you are seeking a truly passive
franchise which most people are with Anytime Fitness, is to hire someone to run your business
while you focus on other things. Now a gym franchise, keep in mind, is completely dependent
on the person you hire, much more so than say a hair salon by virtue of the client acquisition
process. So a hair Salon manager welcomes people and runs the store, and is a relatively
easy hire and even if you have to replace this person your customers still will walk
in and have their haircut. Your store success is not tied to any one individual and people
don't need to be sold a haircut.
With fitness however that manager will need to be very adept at client acquisition, at
selling. And if you can't find someone in the fitness industry, that is also good at
selling, your club is going to suffer. So if you are running passively, and you have
ongoing problems finding the right hire your store is going to suffer, and your passive
business just became a hands on headache.
We also found some negative feedback on unhappyfranchisee.com, and I'll post the link to that page down below
in the description box if you want to visit the page. Now keep in mind there are many
more happy franchisees than unhappy, but these comments provide us with some red flags that
can help direct our future research. Some complaints speak to the fact that actual ownership
may not be as easy as claimed, that corporate may be taking more than they should be, that
their real estate team are unqualified that Anytime Fitness did not properly disclose
earnings of other clubs and support is poor this owner suggests they are being forced
to pay $60,000 after only 5 years to remodel their club and are drowning in debt, and this
prospective franchisee suggesting Anytime Fitness did not allow them to speak to other
owners, and that the fees are ridiculous. There are over 81 comments both good and bad
and will certainly be of interest to anyone considering buying an Anytime Fitness franchise.

NEST HELLO DOORBELL EASIEST INSTALLATION AND FULL REVIEW - Duration: 7:17.
Hi guys, Cody Lopez here with Techcellent News and today we're gonna take a look
at a new video doorbell. This is our review of the Nest Hello
but first the installation. Alright let's get started.
The Nest Hello is a black and white pill shaped device that simply looks like a
larger version of a traditional doorbell. This is actually a good thing and
important because it doesn't cause confusion for visitors when they walk up
to your house to use it. The lower portion is where a person pushes the
button. It has a nice light ring to help direct them to it.
The upper portion is where you'll find the camera that records their arrival. If
you have purchased Nest products before, you know that their packages provide
everything you need for installation and the Hello doorbell is no exception. I
mean it even comes with a drill bit. Setup was a breeze like all other Nest
products. The directions were very specific and helped me install the chime
connector, mounting plate and doorbell itself. It took me around 15 minutes for
a complete install and DIY beginners should have no trouble with this
installation. The same app that you would use for the nest thermostat or other
nest devices is also used for the Hello doorbell. Having one central app to
control your smart home gadgets was a big reason for selecting the Nest Hello
over others. Within the app, you can customize all of the camera settings.
These include when to receive notifications, how to receive
notifications, enabling quiet time, set up visitor announcements and plenty more.
For instance, designating zones so you can have notifications enabled only when
someone enters those specific zones. This is important for houses that face a busy
street or sidewalk and only want notifications when someone approaches
the door. To help optimize notifications you can also enable the familiar faces
feature so after the camera spots a face, the app will prompt you to respond if
you know this person. You can then go into the settings and name the people
identified by the camera and speaking of being notified you can integrate Google
Home with the Nest Hello. When a familiar face rings the doorbell all of your
Google Home speakers will announce the person at your door if it doesn't
recognize the face your Google Home will say "Someone's at the front door." If it
does recognize the face, it will say their name followed by is at the front
door. This is a key advantage of the Nest Hello and makes for a safer experience
for anyone answering the door. Now in order to receive the
familiar face alerts you need to have a Nest Aware subscription. The subscription
is $5 per month and also includes continuous video history, activity zones,
clips and time lapses. Nest does provide a free trial for the hello doorbell but
I can kind of see myself eventually opting into this subscription for the
Google Home alerts alone. Everything else tested on the Hello worked extremely
well. The camera's HD live feed looks good in the day and night vision. With a
single press of the talk button, the 2-way talk intercom function allows for
a more natural conversation that is easy to use. At 229 dollars, the price of the
Nest Hello can seem kinda high. Now considering its direct competitor the,
Ring Video Doorbell Pro is priced around $239 with about the same specs.
Although the Nest Hello does have a slightly higher resolution at a four by
three format which is a much better format to show people from head to toe.
Plus it has a deeper connection with Google Home. The Nest hello has far
exceeded expectations, it's a great standalone video doorbell made even
better if you already have nest products in your home. Its basic features work
really well but its advanced features like facial recognition really stand out.
If you don't need any of the fancy add-ons skip the Nest Aware subscription
or simply look elsewhere but if you want the smartest video doorbell around the
NesT Hello is easily the best recommendation. For more smart home

This is undeniably the most amazing movie marvel has ever released.
I think that's just the statement that this movie needs and, you know
deserves
I watched this movie both in IMAX as well as INOX and I'll talk about that experience later.
Now, I'll talk about what made this movie what it is
So this movie just nailed every single point, it had a badass villain
Like, what happened with Age of Ultron was that, it had this wisecracking villain.
It worked well in guardians of the galaxy, but in that movie, I just didn't like it that much
Thanos is just this, badass villian that Marvel deserves, all the avengers are fighting against this one man, and that's amazing and
They really did justice to the character Thanos
next talking right now is
BGM or the background music. It was just amazing, when it came in
Those were the moments that you really
get hyped up, and you know the Marvel Infinity war music comes on and you're like damn. That's good!
The next point is good, perfect pacing actually
The movie starts out, actually it doesn't start out, the first five minutes of this movie is, you know
basically the starting
the sort of, build up to, Thanos, this character
You know, the pacing is perfect. There really isn't anything I can talk about without spoiling the movie, so I'm just gonna leave that part
Some of the shots are just amazing
it's really hard to not spoil the film guys. Some of the shots are actually just amazing!
And in this movie, everything just came together great!
So, I watched this movie both in IMAX and in INOX
So I watched it first in IMAX, and then later on in INOX and I have to say, the experience is just so damn different like
the first IMAX screen is...
It's just that not only it's big, the audio quality also is just great, so I think that, that alone deserves the price you are giving
This movie deserves to be watched in IMAX. I have to say. Just the overall experience for me was just
super awesome in IMAX and
I suggest, if you're going to watch this movie and if you have a chance to watch it in IMAX, just go for it
Don't think about it, Definitely is worth it!
Okay, so in conclusion. This movie is just absolutely great. Marvel just did an amazing job with this one
If you haven't watched movie yet, I would suggest you go do that right now
Don't wait for it to come out on DVD or anything because you'll probably just get...
The movie will probably be spoiled for you and moreover
You know, its just a much better experience in the theaters and definitely go watch it in Imax if you have the chance
So even if you aren't exactly a marvel fan. This movie is just as entertaining.

I was just so devastated getting out of the theater. I mean, I just heard one person go like,
I love this movie
But I'm not watching this movie again, because my heart just can't take it, and that was just how I felt as well.
So I guess we'll go at this sequentially
In the beginning, the opening act, the fight scene
Of Hulk against Thanos was just so good
I just got to see how good of a villain Thanos really was and
then when Loki died it was just so devastating and I really, you know I
Understood what sort of movie this was and I understood what I was getting myself into. I actually got a few spoilers
I found out from a few friends and some Instagram posts that
Cap was going to die, and I was just completely expecting that and I was just honestly waiting for it
But obviously that never happened, and I was just so
Happy I guess, but then
Something else happened, like what the hell just happened guys! The ending was just so crazy!
Like Damn! So before we get into that
Let's talk about the story
Thanos, the whole sequence of Thanos with
Gamora, on the planet Vormir?
yeah, Vormir was just so beautiful, like even the story and their interactions and
the sort of motive behind Thanos, was just so
Perfectly written, and I really liked that part. So some of my favorite scenes from the movies were when
first Captain America was brought in, the Infinity war music started playing and then again in the
War in Wakanda when Thor came down with his
new axe, the storm breaker. It was just so good, that scene and
that whole fight scene was just epic. When in the beginning Black Panther and Captain America ran side by side and took down a whole swarm of...
Whatever they were
It was just really good
So one of the other problems, actually the only problem
I guess that I found out and my brother as well found out, was when we were watching it in IMAX
There was this one weird CGI glitch, I guess
In the last part when Hulk opens up, and he's seen inside the Hulkbuster. Sorry Banner is seen inside the Hulkbuster
His face just looks like it was, it looked weird
It's just weird that you see a CGI glitch in such a high budget film
Okay, so before we talk about the end, there was just one scene when Thanos impaled Tony Stark
and I was just so near crying, like I was just so sure that Tony Stark was done for, like I bid my
Goodbyes, and like I was sitting there, and then everything just changed, everything just got scary and
everything just went crazy like
Everybody, literally everybody after phase 1 started dying
And it was crazy how they did that, like I didn't know, I honestly still can't believe that Marvel had the guts to
Pull something like that off
I am, I am not even sure if it will last that long, I mean, in Avengers 4, probably most of them will return
But you know still, it's the first movie to end on such a low note, where villain actually wins in the end

what is up guys it's Andrew with my watch addiction and Ava the dog who is
obviously not gonna let me get any work done today but this is Andrew with my
watch addiction comm and today we're gonna do a quick review of the watch
gang black subscription watch that I received for April 2018 so many of you
may have seen my watch on boxing for my watchgang black subscription for April
2018 if you did you saw that I opened up to a Hawaiian Lifeguard Association
watch I don't get this watch at all I don't understand it I don't yeah I just
I don't get it guys I know that I am NOT that kind of watch connoisseur that
knows everything about every kind of watch and you know is straight up 100
percent horology all the time I get that I'm just a normal guy that has a channel
that likes to look at watches but I don't like to look at this watch so
today this video is gonna be kinda short because there's not a whole lot to say
about this guy but before we get started guys who want
to watch me in the future mess up videos and not know how to say the name of
companies definitely hit that subscribe button in the right-hand corner below so
you can follow us on into the future alright so this is the Hawaiian
Lifeguard Association diver watch that I received manufactured by Time concepts
dotnet who incidentally is also the same company that manufactures that Szanto or
Santo time watches which oddly enough I liked a significant amount better than
this watch those watches I at least liked the stylings to them so I look
past some of the other stuff one thing I will point out is the boxes that the
Hawaiian Lifeguard Association official watch came in is the exact same box that
the Santo time watches came in they're just recovered with a different sticker
on top which makes complete sense but this is the watch you guys see it right
there not a whole lot to it I'm not really gonna go around it that much
because I just quite honestly I don't care - I'm not I'm not really into this
watch at all the silicone strap on this watch is plastic he it feels really
really cheap not really feeling it at all that face very plain very
one-dimensional doesn't really pop to me at all again guys these are my personal
opinions this is just what I think about the watch you guys might like the watch
and that's perfectly fine I'm sure there's a lot of things that I have in
my collection that you guys hate that I love that's just the way watches go but
let's jump over to the computer real quick so we're gonna jump over here and
take a look at the content dot watch gang site that was included in their
partner pamphlet this month which will tell us all the watches that I would
have preferred better than this one so if we take a look at content watch gang
slash 3f 707 3 is the actual direct link to April 2018 black tier watches we jump
down here real quick we take a look there was four different models or four
basic models and manufacturers that were sent the Y in Lifeguard Association the
out of order Casanova and stainless steel which incidentally is the only one
in the black subscription that meets my preferences based strictly set on my
preferences when selecting for my subscription each month the out of order
Casanova on leather strap and then the boulder explorer two now if I had a
choice if I could say take my hundred dollars that I invested or I put in this
subscription and give me one of these watches I absolutely 1000% in this month
would have selected the boulder explorer - I personally am a fan of Boulder
watches I know that that watch some people didn't really like the
stylings on it personally I love them I think it's a great looking watch and I'm
just a real fan of the bolder watches in general and of course you guys know I
love out of order so if I didn't get the boulder the Oh incidentally the only
other reason why I would have been excited about getting the boulders I
don't have a boulder yet in my collection so moving over to the out of
orders that kazanova lined both on the stainless steel and the leather straps
you guys saw that I got a out of order Casanova before on a leather strap and
you know I was I was happy with that selection for that month's delivery this
wine Lifeguard Association though I think I just can't stand this watch I
know I said in my unboxing video I don't hate it
which at the time I didn't but the more I started looking at it the more I
actually did hate it so let's just jump and take a look and see what we can find
out about this Hawaiian Lifeguard Association watch which incidentally is
model number 5504 so this did come in various different colors it is a
stainless steel case the band is rubber and it has a Japanese quartz movement
with a hardened k1 mineral crystal on it for 99 bucks in the grand scheme of
things $99 subscription I get it you know it's got a Japanese quartz it's
got the mineral crystal rubber strap stainless steel case I'm not loving that
dial matter of fact I hate that dial just for whatever reason I don't know
this this watch is just one of those watches that you look at that after you
buy and you're just like I hate this watch it angers me and I want it out of
my life so we jump over to the time time concepts dotnet website this is the
actual website for this watch on time concepts dotnet is who manufactures that
this is the model HL a five five four and they are selling this watch for
a whopping 250 dollars quite honestly I'm not even gonna waste my time and go
and look and see what everybody else is selling this for if anybody else is
selling it for that matter because I I simply just don't care enough um the
other other thing we learn on this site that we didn't on the watch gang sleight
is that strap is 24 millimeters at the lug and that is probably if I'd look at
this watch that's probably the thing that I like best about it is the strap
width which is kind of sad alright guys so that was the lifeguard Association
diver watch from my watch gang black subscription for 2018 this is made and
sold by time concepts dotnet you know if you guys want a beater I guess it's fine
if you want to pass it off to your kids I guess it's fine I can tell you that if
I was looking to purchase this watch hey I wouldn't and be I wouldn't purchase it
for the two hundred and fifty dollars that time cops time concepts wants it
for and quite honestly if I could get 50 bucks out of this watch I would be happy
so if you guys have 50 bucks and you want to buy this watch it's all yours
I'll even pay shipping how's that just send me 50 bucks this watch is yours and
we are both happy anyway guys I know today in a bit of a mood kind of on a
rant today so I apologize I still love the excitement of watching black
subscriptions I love the mystery watch concept it's just something that
entertains me and it's something that I again use for pure entertainment I don't
necessarily think that I should expect a watch that I like out of every
subscription month and that's perfectly okay this is one of those months that I
just happen to hate the watch that I received so that's that anyway guys I'm

craft and hobby knives by a company called arteza now Arteza makes a
wide variety of like crafting quilting lots of art supplies so definitely check
out the website I was certainly perusing and saw a lot of cool things I was
interested in in fact it even kind of whet my appetite to try watercolour
painting so we will see so anyways this company offered to let me try a couple
items so I chose this set of craft and hobby knives it looked interesting in
because I'm also getting into building dollhouse stuff and doing some more in
that realm I thought this might be a handy thing to have so it is a 17 piece
set and it comes with three knives 13 knife blades and a cutting mat which I
thought was a really you know cool and like very well-put-together set
I think the self-healing cutting mat looks like it's excellent quality and
the knives you know you get three of them and I liked that all of the blades
come on a magnetic strip so they don't go all over the place and they come in a
really sturdy plastic case and of course make sure to practice safety measures
you do not want to hurt yourself so the three knives have different purposes the
thinnest one which is this one says it is good for light materials like paper
balsa wood cloth and acetate this medium thickness blade this one is best for
medium materials like wood paper plastics film and also acetate and the
big guy here this is touted for clothes corner cutting it's a heavy duty blade
holder providing precision heavy pressure cutting of heavyweight
materials like wood mat board paper metal and even foam board this kit does
come with a wide variety blades for lots of different purposes and I'll link it
below I'll link the art has a website if you're interested in checking out this
or any of the other products I did try these out I thought it did bear
well on paper I tried that real nice clean cut there and the self-healing
cutting mat works really well you can also change out the blades very easily
with like a quick-release handles so again pretty standard among craft knives
but again it performs well and I actually really like this set I think
it's a good value and it comes with everything you need so I would
definitely give it a two thumbs up here are teza nice job and I'm very curious
to check out some of your other things in another review I will be showing you
their oven-baked polymer clay and I'm really excited about that kit because I

Galaxy S9+ Review: Over a Month Later | New Daily Driver - Duration: 8:32.
Hi guys, it's MTG here.
I've now used the Samsung Galaxy S9+ for a little over a month now.
On this channel I like to wait for the hype to die down a bit and for software updates
to roll out before conducting any full reviews.
In this video I'm going to review the phone, tell you what I like and dislike, and also
tell you why the S9+ is now my daily driver.
Let's get right into it.
To give a little context, the phone that had my sim card in it before this one was the
Pixel 2 XL.
You can watch that revisited video to see why I had chosen it.
But before I get into this review, I wanted to quickly answer the question: what do I
consider when choosing a daily driver.
My daily driver is never simply the best phone, because already that statement has no clear
answer.
It's a phone that best fits my lifestyle, my preferences, and does the most of what
I want a phone to do.
It's a device that will inevitably be with me at all times as not only a phone, but also
my calendar, media consumption device, camera, and pocket computer.
By now, you probably already know a lot about the S9+'s design and specifications, but let
me quickly run through some key aspects to remind you of how great the phone looks on
paper.
The S9+ has Corning's Gorilla Glass 5 on both its front and back, and is held together by
an aluminum frame.
I don't know if it's the way Samsung curved the edges or the overall symmetry of the phone,
but the S9+ feels a lot better to hold than any of the other bigger phones I've used.
The phone has a near bezel-less, 6.2 inch Super AMOLED display with a QHD+ resolution
and no notch.
If you're in the US, the phone will be powered by the Octacore Snapdragon 845 chipset, and
just about everywhere else, it will be powered by Samsung's Exynos 9810 Octa chipset.
The S9+ sports 6 GB of RAM, and has a base 64 GB of storage.
When I picked up the S8+ for the first time last year, I was immediately blown away by
the best smartphone screen I have ever seen.
And especially because I was coming from the Pixel 2 XL this time around, I had the same
experience when I booted up the S9+ for the first time.
The screen just screams premium and quality.
When scrolling through apps like Bleacher Report and Twitter, you can see how crisp
the text is and how clear and vibrant the images are.
And when you watch high resolution videos, it becomes so blatantly obvious why Samsung
screens are said to be the best on any smartphone.
The screen also gets plenty bright enough to see it even in direct sunlight.
I then wanted to check out the phone's camera because Samsung had made a really big deal
about it at its event, and my initial impressions are that it has maybe the most well-rounded
camera system on a phone to date.
In bright light, the phone performs as I expect any phone at this price-point to perform.
Images are clear, colors are great, and an amazing amount of detail is captured in every
single shot.
But the camera started to really impress me when I began to challenge it with more difficult
lighting conditions.
Its HDR capabilities took a big step up from the Note 8, always making sure the light in
the background does not overpower the image.
Then at night, the S9+ did a great job of automatically switching to that f/1.5 aperture,
creating detailed night shots with minimal noise.
Again light sources never flare out too much, and the phone is able to capture great natural-looking
night shots because it doesn't have to work too hard in post processing.

check out the camera comparisons I have between the S9+ and the iPhone X, Pixel 2 XL, and
Note 8.
Samsung has always packed as many features as they possibly can into their smartphones,
and the S9+ is no exception.The S9+ remains one of the few major flagships to maintain
a headphone jack, which to a lot of people, including me, is still an important feature
for a phone to have.
I own Bluetooth earphones, headphones, and speakers, but in those instances where those
are out of battery or there are only wired options available, phones without headphone
jacks seem worthless.
Even when older Samsung flagships had the best displays, they weren't too great for
media consumption without headphones because of how bad the onboard speakers were.
This time around, Samsung partnered with Dolby and put some decent stereo speakers on the
new S9's that get impressively loud.
They might not be the clearest sounding speakers in the world, but they are in the highest
tier when it comes to smartphone speakers.
A feature that I don't hear people talk enough about is Samsung Pay.
Unlike Android or Apple Pay, Samsung Pay actually tricks any card reader into thinking a physical
card was swiped, which is very convenient in those instances where you forget your wallet.
And of course the S9+ has the staple features like expandable storage, an IP68 water and
dust resistance rating, and wireless charging.
In terms of biometric security, Samsung gives you options to unlock your phone instead of
forcing you to use one.
The fingerprint sensor is finally in a universally accessible location.
It is extremely quick to setup and works as expected.
This year Samsung introduced Intelligent Scan.
With Intelligent Scan, the S9s pretty much instantly toggle between using either just
2D facial recognition, just iris scanning, or a combination of the two.
This makes for an unlock method that is more secure than the old facial recognition, but
significantly faster than iris scanning was on previous Galaxy phones.
But all of these cool features don't mean anything if the phone stutters or struggles
to do the simpler tasks.
This is where the S9+ begins to separate itself from other phones in my head.
Samsung's skin on the S9s are very clean and do not seem cluttered at all.
Navigating between different menus and apps seems Pixel smooth, and the 6GB of RAM has
allowed most of my background apps to stay open and ready to go whenever I needed them.
Everything is just very snappy, and the phone so far has very rarely stuttered.
With the S9+, you can rest assured knowing that the software experience will only make
you like this phone even more, not the other way around.
The battery had been an aspect of this phone that I hoped Samsung improved from the Note
8.
The onboard 3,500 mAh battery, along with the added efficiency of the Snapdragon 845
exceeded my expectations.
The S9+ has now become one of the longest lasting smartphones I've ever used, and on
most days it comfortably makes it to the end of the day, even if it was used a lot.
Couple the decent battery life with fast wireless charging and fast wall charging, the S9+ does
not disappoint at all in the battery department.
But there are some things that I don't like about this phone that I wanted to address.
I still don't know why Samsung softens its pictures shot on Live Focus so much.
I understand that some people think the pictures are more flattering, but even when I turn
all beauty modes off, details get suppressed.
The S9+ can take some quality depth-effect pictures, but the smearing of details, especially
on the subjects' faces keeps the camera from being just about perfect.
Also I have hit the Bixby button on accident so many times that I don't care how advanced
of a digital assistant it is.
I ended up pretty much disabling all Bixby functionality except for the long-press to
activate, which is a bummer for a feature that takes up its own button on the phone.
With phones like the iPhone X priced at $1000 and Samsung's own Note 8 priced at $930, I
was pleasantly surprised to see that even the S9+ was priced at $840.
And when you see that the S9+ includes $100 earphones, a fast charging wall adapter, and
all of the features I mentioned before, the price tag actually seems more palatable given
how little other manufacturers like Apple include with their phones.
If you couldn't tell, I am a big fan of the Samsung Galaxy S9+.
It's a phone with a versatile camera, lots of features, good battery life, and great
software experience.
All of which are packaged with the best display on any phone made to date.
I chose it as my daily driver because I really value a big, clear, vibrant display.
The portrait mode is still not Pixel level and there isn't the added convenience of being
in the Apple ecosystem, but the camera is so good in other aspects and the software
is so seamless and snappy that I don't really mind.

Solving The VRM Heat Problem: Cryorig A40 Ultimate Review - Duration: 12:45.
Heat from motherboard components is an issue that comes up all the time with all-in-one
CPU coolers.
Because there's no fan blowing on the VRMs or chipset, these parts heat up and can prematurely
fail if your case's ventilation isn't up to par.
Howdy howdy guys ponchato here and today we're going to take a look at a cooler that promises
to fix this issue: Cryorig's A40 Ultimate.
Thanks to Cryorig for sending this one over for review, and let's get started.
The A40 Ultimate was released back in November of 2015 for a launch price of $110 USD.
It's compatible with AM4, LGA 1151, LGA 2066, and sTR4 sockets for those of you looking
to cool a Threadripper.
The radiator is 120mm wide, 272mm long, and 38.5mm thick which is 11mm thicker than the
standard Cryorig A40.
It comes with two of their QF120 Performance fans for the radiator, which are 120mm fans
that run between 600 and 2200 RPM.
The QF120 is built with Cryorig's HPLN or "High Precision, Low Noise" bearing which
is probably just a variation of a fluid dynamic bearing.
Cryorig doesn't rate the A40 Ultimate for a specific TDP but I'd estimate it to be
somewhere pretty far north of 200W.
Inside the box you'll find the two QF120 radiator fans with a simple black and white
color scheme and no LEDs.
Next is a tiny 70mm fan, their somewhat redundantly-named "Airflow Fan" – this how Cryorig tackled
the motherboard heat problem which we'll examine in detail in a bit.
Beyond that are all the standard mounting backplates, adapaters, and screws, warranty
card, and installation guide.
The guide is well written and surprisingly non-threatening; only about 10 steps and it's
detailed enough that the average user shouldn't have any problems.
Cryorig did start updating their lineup around Fall of 2017 to include AM4 brackets, but
some older stock may still be in warehouses or on store shelves.
If you get one of these pre-update models you can get the AM4 upgrade kit from Cryorig,
but I expect by now all the old stock will have been cycled through and should come with
the AM4 bracket in the box.
Finally, the cooler itself.
Both the radiator and the pump are wrapped in plastic to keep dust off during shipping,
and the pump comes with a plastic protector over the copper cold plate.
Here you can also see the three cables hardwired to the pump: the SATA power connector, the
Y-cable to connect the two radiator fans, and fan cable that plugs into your motherboard's
CPU fan header.
Before we get to installation, let's look at that Airflow Fan, which is how Cryorig
is tackling the VRM heat problem.
It's a tiny fan, only 70mm, and rated for up to 3000 RPM, and otherwise follows the
A40's design aesthetic of black on white.
It mounts to the top of the pump, roughly where a standard CPU air cooler's fan would
be, and blows air down onto the motherboard.
This helps circulate the stagnant air that would otherwise just build up around the pump.
You can also turn it around and have it pull air away from the motherboard but I don't
think that'll be as effective.
The Airflow Fan has a very short cable because it plugs directly into the top of the pump.
Once it's plugged in, it gets the same shared PWM signal that the radiator fans get, so
you can dial it up or down as needed.
Since this is my first all-in-one cooler, one thing I was curious about is how exactly
you mount the fans to the radiator, and then the radiator to the case.
It's actually more straightforward than I thought: The radiator has the same mounting
screw holes on both sides, so it can be used either on the air intake at the front of the
case or exhaust on the top.
Cryorig provides you with two sets of screws, one shorter and one longer, along with a set
of washers – the longer set of screws is used to mount the fans to the radiator, and
the shorter set is used to mount the radiator to the case if you're using it as an exhaust
– otherwise the long screws do double duty of holding both the radiator and the fans
to the case.
The washers are provided to help protect the case, but because of the shape of the MasterBox
Lite 3.1's front mounting locations, I couldn't use the washers.
No biggie.
The A40 Ultimate uses the stock AM4 backplate, so installation of that part is easy – you
just thread the mounting screws into the backplate and it's held in place.
Apparently a lot of AM4 mounting systems only loosely hold the backplate in place before
the heat sink or pump are attached.
It was a little concerning at first, but that actually is how it's supposed to be.
Now here's how I mounted the radiator and fans to the case.
I first threaded all the long screws through the fans, making sure to keep the header wires
clear of the front and backside of the fans.
With the screws holding them in place, I lined up the radiator mounting holes with the exposed
parts of the screws.
Whenever you're tightening screws in a computer (or most things, for that matter), you should
always turn them back one quarter or half a turn until the threads click.
This helps make sure the threads aren't crossed and lets you know that the screw is
actually lined up with the hole.
Tighten down all the screws, keep in mind there's no need to crank them down like
a gorilla, and the radiator is installed.
The coolant tubes are sleeved and 350mm or 13.8" long.
That length should be fine for the vast majority of MicroATX and standard ATX cases, and was
comfortably long enough for the Cooler Master MasterBox Lite 3.1 here.
Now to install the pump, the first step is to put on the right mounting bracket.
It comes with the LGA bracket already installed, and to swap it out for the AM4 bracket you
simply twist it counter clockwise and take it off.
The AM4 bracket mounts in the same way and locks by twisting clockwise, and it can be
mounted in any orientation you want, depending on where you want the tubing to go and where
to aim the fan mounted on the pump.
Once you decide on an orientation, it's time to mount the pump.
The A40 usually comes with thermal paste pre-applied, but I'll be using my standard paste for
testing, Deepcool Z5.
With that in place, installation is pretty straightforward if not a bit awkward.
Because I wanted the airflow fan pointing towards the VRMs, which on this motherboard
are aft of the socket, I had to hold the pump firmly in place with one hand while I threaded
on the mounting screws with the other.
Once I got three of them mounted, lining up the fourth and tightening them all down was
a cinch.
Next I plugged in the SATA power connector, the motherboard fan header, and the two radiator
fans.
Finally I plugged in the airflow fan and clipped it into the top of the pump.
All in all, a fairly intuitive and easy installation.
With the cooler installed it was time to start testing.
My test bench is a Ryzen 3 1200 overclocked to 4.1GHz at 1.35V on an MSI B350M Gaming
PRO motherboard with 8GB of DDR4-2400 memory.
The graphics card is a passively cooled GT 1030 from MSI, and thanks to Seasonic for
providing the power supply: an 850W Focus Plus Gold which can run passive under low
load.
Because the GT 1030 and Seasonic 850FX run passive cooling and don't produce noise,
the only sound coming from this system is from the CPU cooler itself.
Load temperatures are taken with the CPU running a Prime95 stress test, temperatures are allowed
to stabilize for 15 minutes, and cooling results are reported as deltas; degrees above ambient
temperature.
First we'll look at the idle results.
These are the noise levels and temperature deltas with no programs running and the fans
running at minimum RPM.
The noise level at idle is more important than the temperature delta; even with the
stock cooler the 1200 only sits about 7 degrees above ambient.
On top of that, the accuracy of temperature sensors in CPUs tends to fall off quite a
bit at lower temperatures like these, so take these deltas with a grain of salt.
The noise results, however, are worth noting.
The A40 ultimate, with its three fans and pump, isn't a champion of silence.
It's still not very loud at under 34dB but you will be able to hear it whereas single
fan air coolers like the Quad Lumi or Gammaxx 400 fall somewhere between "hard to hear"
and "completely inaudible".
Now we'll look at the max cooling results.
These measurements are taken under load with the fans at 100% to show the upper limit of
cooling.
In short, the A40 Ultimate can get loud but is a significant step up in performance; almost
6 degrees cooler than the Gammaxx 400 and more than 9 degrees cooler than Cryorig's
H7 Quad Lumi.
But, as always, this bar chart doesn't paint a complete picture, since running any CPU
cooler at 100% is pretty much never worth it.
It's a balancing act between noise and cooling, and we'll take a look at a chart that shows
exactly that in just a minute.
Next we'll take a look at the RPM vs PWM graph to show one aspect of the fan controller's
quality.
The A40 Ultimate is shown in blue and this is just about par for the course.
The bottom fifth of the PWM range sets the fan to its minimum RPM, but this isn't very
surprising since most fans cut off some portion of the range as well.
Now here's the Delta C vs RPM graph to show whether the cooler is limited by airflow or
heat transfer.
A leveling off at higher RPM indicates that extra airflow isn't reducing temperatures
much, and so the cooler is limited by its ability to transfer heat from the CPU to the
fins rather than from the fins to the air.
As far as I've seen, most tower and AIO coolers are limited by heat transfer whereas
most top-down coolers like the Wraith Stealth are limited by airflow.
The A40 Ultimate starts to level off at 30% speed and only drops about 4 more degrees
when you push it all the way up to 100% - that means it's limited by heat transfer.
Finally the most important graph, Delta C vs Noise.
Basically, "how loud is it, and how well does it cool?"
At low RPM the A40 performs almost the same as the Gammaxx 400, but as you turn up the
speed you quickly get a huge drop in temperatures.
At its furthest lead the A40 runs about 6 degrees cooler than the Gammaxx 400 but I
think the best place to run it is around 40-50% speed.
At that point it sits around 4 degrees cooler than the Gammaxx 400 and about 9 degrees cooler
than the Quad Lumi while producing the same amount of noise.
This is also a good example of the general difference in performance between a compact
full tower cooler (the Quad Lumi), a full size full tower (the Gammaxx 400), and an
AIO, the A40.
I wanted to test out the airflow fan's effect on motherboard temperatures as well, and see
if Cryorig's solution actually works.
Here's the graph of VRM and Chipset temperature deltas with the airflow fan off, running at
minimum RPM, 50% speed, and 100%.
The fan is pointed directly at the VRMs and has a very clear effect on their temperature
– over 25 degrees cooler with the fan running at full speed.
The chipset temperature is less affected until the fan is running at 100%, at which point
the indirect airflow is enough to keep it cooler.
It seems that Cryorig's idea does exactly what they set out to do.
I'm also introducing a new part to my cooler reviews and giving them a "Cooler Score".
This score is essentially how close they get to a completely hypothetical "perfect"
cooler with a 0 degree delta and 0 dB of noise, hence it's a combined score for noise and
cooling performance.
The A40 ultimate just barely edges out the Gammaxx 400 at 50.5, and you can see the Wraith
Stealth all the way down at 30.
Keep in mind this is just one way of comparing coolers – compared to most benchmarks or
scoring methods, this puts a heavier emphasis on noise level.
As I add more coolers to my review library, this list will become a good point of reference
when picking out a cooler for yourself.
Finally we'll look at Cooler Score per dollar to compare price to combined noise and cooling
performance.
The A40, unsurprisingly, falls behind other much cheaper options – the Gammaxx 400,
for example, only costs about $20.
At this price range though, someone building or upgrading a PC is probably more concerned
with just the straight up performance, which the A40 excels at, rather than price to performance.
Now for the pros and cons.
First up, the pros.
This thing is very strong.
It significantly outclasses my old favorite, the Deepcool Gammaxx 400 in thermal performance.
Looks like AIOs actually do bring a new level of performance.
Second, I like the styling.
No crazy LEDs, no over the top gamer branding, just a simple black and white color scheme.
Third, installation was way easier than I expected.
I'd never used an AIO before, so I was thinking installation would be a huge pain but it was
actually… not that different from any other cooler.
Plus the installation guide is top notch and Cryorig always does a fantastic job with those.
As for the cons, the first is this isn't silent.
In terms of temperatures this will outclass just about any air cooler, but in terms of
noise unlike air coolers, it won't be completely inaudible at idle.
That's not to say it's obnoxious, since it does only run around 34dB, but if your
goal is completely silent computing then I don't think any AIO will suit your needs.
The second con is, of course, price.
$110 is steep for a CPU cooler, powerful as it may be.
However it's unlikely that a budget builder is going to opt for a cooler like this anyway,
so price may not be a big issue in reality.
If you're looking for a very high end, very high performance all-in-one liquid cooler,
the Cryorig A40 Ultimate is a strong option.
It'll keep your CPU cooler than most, if not all, air coolers, and doesn't take any
wacky installation steps or other hoops to jump through.
Installation is easy, performance is exceptional, and it just looks good.

2018 BMW M4 Competition Package Review | Acceleration Test | Edmunds - Duration: 4:05.

CARLOS LAGO: This is the 2018 BMW M4.
It's got the competition package, which
means it has 444 horsepower.
We're going to do an acceleration run, which
should be a bit of fun, considering
you have that power, a rear drive car, and a six speed
manual.
Now, we'd like to start by doing what we call the key up run.
Assume you had just turned the car on, let it warm, up
and jumped on the gas, and found out what would happen.
That's what testing is, after all.
I have got to key up settings on.
So comfort everything, from the steering, to the suspension,
to the gas pedal.
And I think I mentioned the stability control too.
Let's go with a 2800 RPM launch.
So a little bit of slip before stability control comes on.
This 3 liter straight or V6, to a straight-six.
Ha.
You saw that.
This test track we're doing the acceleration run on
has a few bumps.
The bumps are apparently big enough
to trigger the stability control.
That could be interesting.
So for run number two, I'm going to put the gas pedal
aggressiveness in sport.
I'm going to put the dampers in the sport plus
to see how they do with those bumps that we're hitting.
And I'm going to put the steering in sport,
because why not.
I'm feeling sporty.
Stability control and trash control are now completely off.
We'll go with let's say a 2,300 RPM launch.
And we'll come off the clutch quickly
instead of sidestepping it.
Very quick, very quick car.
You've got to take your time with the shifter.
You can't do it too quick.
A little rubbery with the feel.
Though, I kind of like it.
It's a classical BMW feel.
The rear end of this car when it gets a big bump,
there's so much power going to those tires
that it feels like it's almost about to lose traction.
It doesn't.
It stays straight and true.
But I've got to say, it's surprising at how loose
that rear end can feel under straight acceleration.
OK.
Here we go.
Run number three.
We're going to see if we can bump up the RPMs a little bit
and get a smoother launch out of the car.
There we go.
Bump one.
You've got to consider that where
I'm hitting the bumps on the straightaway
are always right at the top of the gear.
So like at 7,400 RPM, 7,300 RPM, there's that bump.
And that's when the engine's doing peak power, I think.
It may be doing peak power a lot lower at the engine speed.
A lot of power are going to those rear tires
when the rear axle gets that bump.
I wish it was a little bit better controlled.
Run number four.
Here we go.
Yes.
Yeah.
A little bit of wheel spin right at the top.
I I think I was a little too high on the engine
speed right there.
I've got to say, for a car with this much power going
to the rear wheels, with a traditional six speed manual
layout, it's not a too difficult of a car to launch.
The motor rips.
I've said that before, but it's worth repeating.
This thing has a ton of power.
It sounds really good at high RPMs
and not so great at low RPMs.
It's kind of hard to fault it over power delivery.
I just wish the rear end was a little bit more buttoned down.

AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR *REVIEW* - Duration: 15:03.
Well, here we are.
10 years after the universe started, 6 years after the first film, 4 years after it was
announced, Avengers: Infinity War has arrived.
As many of you know, this is probably the most excited I've ever been for a film.
Having been a huge fan of the MCU since seeing the first Captain America in the cinema as
a 9 year old, the culmination of this entire universe….yeah, that's gonna get me pretty
damn excited.
So, enough intro, let's talk about if it lived up to the hype.
*clip* And as per usual, I'm going no spoilers
first and then with a big warning I'll get into the spoilers.
But with this review in particular, because this is such a huge and highly anticipated
movie, I would recommend just not watching this video before you've seen the film.
Again, I promise, I will not spoil anything, but I wanted to go into this film having seen
as little as possible, and obviously this review will have some of the footage that's
been officially released, so just saying, for your own experience, I'd say save this
for after the movie.
Ok….I have avoided all reviews for this film so I have no idea what the general public
feel about it.
My own opinion, did it live up to my unliveuptoable expectations?
Ummmmm I really don't know.
I know what I liked, I know what I didn't like so much, we'll get into those specifics.
But as far as my overall feeling with this movie, I was kinda stumped when I first walked
out.
And even now, I'm still not entirely sure on my overall stance, was it as good as I'd
hoped, was it a bit underwhelming, it's kind of in the middle.
I know this is weird for a review but it's just so much to process, for a movie that
I've been this excited for to do this many things that surprised me.
So hey, let's talk specifics and by the end of writing this script and talking about
this film hopefully I'll have more of a solidified rating.
First off, I always start with the casts of these movies, and this one is too big to go
through.
You know that almost all of them are gonna be great, so let me just point out some favorites.
As per usual I loved RDJ and Tom Holland, and Chris Pratt was also fantastic as Star
Lord, balancing the funny moments and the heartfelt moments really well.
Now one that I think is worth individually mentioning is Thanos, because it's been built
up for a while how amazing of a villain he's supposed to be.
And yes, he gets a lot of screen time, and yes he does have more character than most
of the MCU villains.
But really I don't think I found him as compelling as say the Vulture.
He was a good character and I understood him, but something just didn't totally click with
me where I was like oh man this is the best villain of all time.
Might have something to do with the CGI, which for me had the Snoke problem.
Both of them have excellent CGI, but there's just something about it that looks a little
off and takes me out of it.
But yeah, he is a pretty strong villain in every sense.
I gotta say, bringing all these characters together the Russo brothers and Marvel did
a pretty stellar job.
The whole most ambitious crossover thing, yeah.
Now yes, there are some characters who I wish had gotten more to do, like basically you've
90% of their part in this movie in the trailer, and there are some characters and subplots
who they spend a little more time on than I think was necessary, but on the whole it's
very impressive how well they did this.
It's such a brilliant idea this whole thing, just like the first film, getting people very
familiar with these characters so they already know and like them and are more invested in
them and then setting them in a big team movie.
It's not only super cool to see the characters cross over, which we'll get to, but it also
makes these big character moments feel so much more fulfilling, cuz you already know
them so well.
Great example is Spider-Man, thanks to that one amazing Spider-Man movie he's now one
of the characters I'm most invested in, and I loved a lot of the fulfilling moments
that came with that in this movie.
Also the same abit with Black Panther, and the Guardians and Star Lord in particular.
It doesn't feel rushed, and it feels so earned.
It's the same was with the first film, there's context on who's who so if you're going
in totally fresh you kinda get it, but having the built characters with adventures and backstories
already just enhances the experience by a lot.
Speaking of which the Avengers meet the Guardians in this for the first time in different ways
which I won't spoil.
And yeah, it was pretty much just as cool as I'd hoped.
Seeing Iron Man and Star Lord match wits was fantastic, and the rest of the interactions
are great too.
In terms of the action, the Russos are famous for it and here, yeah it's still great.
The big battle sequences and everything, very well done.
Exciting, intense, little heavy on CG occasionally especially in one fight i particular but still.
The big Wakanda battle is phenomenal and I really enjoyed one of the fight scenes earlier
on.
Now the trailers have made this look like a super dark emotional experience, and in
some ways it is, which we'll get to in the spoilers.
But don't worry, it still has lots of that Marvel humor.
And for the most part, as you'd expect, yeah it's very funny.
This has some of the funniest moments in any MCU movie.
Emotional moments wise though, this has more than the others, that's for sure.
Most of them worked, there were a lot where I was almost crying and/or….yeah alright
crying a bit, and then there were somewhere I kinda wasn't as engaged in it as I wanted
to be.
I have to say, even though I don't think this is the best MCU movie overall, this may
have the most amazing moments of any of the films.
There were so many times where something happened in the movie and I just had this huge grin
on my face like I was a little kid watching the first Avengers again.
I had rewatched a bunch of these movies right before walking into this one, and while it's
not totally necessary to enjoy this film, it just gave a really nice perspective.
It's also just a lot of fun to think about how this all started.
The opening of the first Iron Man is so grounded and real world feeling, to think the Tony
Stark in that film would one day go off into space and meet the Guardians of the Galaxy
is just insane.
Now yes, we do have to talk about the negatives here, because for as much as I wanted this
to be a perfect movie, it wasn't.
There are some little things, for one, while most CGI is great, there are some moments
where it is….a little subpar.
I don't know what it is with the Russos but in their last two movies they've had
amazing special effects throughout and then one or two moments of just like really bad
CG or a terrible green screen.
Gotta say, didn't love the effects on the Black Order, especially the one who looks
like he's out of that Warcraft movie….or game.
While the movie made me laugh quite a bit, a few jokes don't land.
Or do land, and then go on for a bit too long.
One with Drax for example was super funny initially and then kinda dragged for just
slightly too long.
A little nit picky but you know it was there.
As these Marvel movies often do a lot of serious moments are undercut by jokes, but in this
there were only one or two times that I found it aggregious.
I gotta say, this is sort of a weird movie.
Because I was watching it and enjoying myself but also thinking, ok so this is not the perfect
masterpiece that I was very unrealistically expecting.
But at the same time, I don't really feel disappointed.
It's weird, cuz I remember seeing Age of Ultron and just feeling super disappointed
for a while afterwards.
But here, even though it wasn't as good as I was hoping, I didn't leave feeling like
bad or underwhelmed.
Maybe it's cuz I'm older, I don't know, but I really liked it and left feeling…..mostly
satisfied.
Even though the ending is….well we'll get to that in spoilers.
So overall, Avengers: Infinity War is a movie I really want to see again.
One cuz I enjoyed it but two to go in and watch it with more reasonable expectations
and an idea of where it's going and seeing how the experience differs.
I know a lot of people, including myself in some ways, don't love it when a reviewer is
like, I can't rate this one movie now over all the others, I have to see it again.
So I'm not gonna do that, I'll give this movie a rating.
I'm just putting up a disclaimer that my thoughts may change over time as this movie
sinks in more, cuz yeah, this movie matters to me and has more of an impact on me just
based on how much of a fan I am, more so than a lot of the other "normal" movies I see.
I suspect I like it more the second time.
At the moment, after one viewing, I really enjoyed Infinity War and I gotta say I liked
how surprised I was and putting aside the enjoyment it is a massive incredible feat.
The fact that a movie with this much hype and had this much to do was this good is very
impressive.
But I also don't think all of the surprises were fantastic and the movie does have noticeable
flaws besides that.
In terms of how I would rank it in the MCU, probably here.
Again, very likely could change.
Overall I'll give Infinity War an 8.7/10.
Alright, we're getting into full on spoilers now.
There are some huge things to spoil in this movie, so you have been warned.
5 4 3 2 1.
Ok first off, I gotta talk about the Red Skull cameo.
Come on.
Yeah I know it's just fan service, but I'm a fan and I've been saying for forever that
the Red Skull is totally alive out in space somewhere and he should come back, and he
actually did.
Sure it's quite obviously not Hugo Weaving, but that just made me smile so much, since
he was the first villain I ever saw in the MCU.
Also yeah I'd say that's a decently satisfying answer to where the Soul Stone is, even though
I don't think anyone predicted that.
Speaking of cameos Peter Dinklage shows up, which was kinda fun.
Some of my other favorite moments were when Cap showed up for the first time and definitely
when Thor Rocket and Groot landed in Wakanda.
They did a good job of keeping that a surprise which made it just that much cooler when it
happened.
Now I gotta related to this, this is probably also due to different expectations, btu to
be fair, these expectations are based on what people have said.
The Russos have said that while Avengers 3 and 4 are connected, they aren't a part
1 part 2 situation.
And I was really happy about this cuz part 1s always leave me feeling kind of dissatisfied.
And then I saw this and I was like, this is totally a part 1.
This is 100% a part 1.
And maybe that's not even such a bad thing, but then I sort of just wish that they'd
said that so I was prepared for this not to be like oh sort of open ended like hey another
adventure is coming but like flatout Hobbit 2 style cliffhanger.
And yes that was the first example I thought of.
I just left me feeling kind of empty, which maybe was the point, but I don't think it
was the empty way that the movie wanted.
I honestly kinda feel like I haven't seen the whole movie which might be why I feel
weird judging it.
I wanna be like well these characters didn't shine as much as I was hoping, but I don't
know if they will in the second film.
So really that just makes it a bit of a weird situation.
Speaking of which, no Hawkeye or Ant-Man.
Which again, I suppose I should've expected, it's not like they were anywhere near the
marketing for this film.
But especially with Hawkeye, the directors said he has his own special journey in the
movie and he's just flat out not there.
I feel kind of lied to, and not even by my own expectations, just flat out.
It's not a huge deal or anything, it's just another thing that I was waiting for and then
didn't happen.
Like a lot of the shots in the trailers.
The coolest moment in the first trailer, the big epic shot of the Avengers charging into
battle in the end, not in the movie.
Totally just there to mislead you.
Hulk, doesn't show up in the battle for Wakanda.
Not at all.
It's not like this might be a shot that they cut from the final cut in the end, this
flat out doesn't happen in any sense.
And I guess that's more marketing's fault than the movie's, i know, but I just wanted
to comment on that cuz I was waiting for that epic shot and it never came.
Same with some moments just being not as cool in the movie as they were in the trailer,
like the Cpa catching Thanos thing isn't as big of a moment as I thought it would be.
Again, you may think these are stupid complaints, but this is why I think I would like this
more on the second viewing when I know what to expect more.
One big moment I gotta say I didn't love was when Peter promised to kill Gamora and then
had to do that like 10 minutes later.
I thought it would be at the very end of the movie but it all happened very quickly and
felt a bit rushed to me.
And while Chris Pratt gives an excellent emotional performance in that scene I was like, I can't
really get behind this, cuz this also seems out of place for Star Lord to me.
Having just rewatched the first Guardians before watching this movie, Peter Quill shooting
one of the few things he loves that is still alive in the universe only a very short while
after being introduced to the concept of it, I don't see it.
So that was just why I couldn't get involved in that moment as much as I wanted to.
The end credits scene was quite fun.
I'm glad Fury is back in the MCU, and so I guess Captain Marvel will play a big part
in Avengers 4.
Cool.
And now let's talk deaths.
Specifically that ending, oh my god we gotta talk about that ending.
First though, other deaths, Gamora died which gotta say that scene did make me choke up
a little bit.
Loki died, which again was pretty sad but I didn't cry cuz my tears for Loki deaths
have been spent already, I'm sorry.
I think the movie knows that though.
Heimdall died, I'm assuming Korg and Meek are just completely obliterated by now.
Asgard is really destroyed, the place and the people.
And then half the Avengers and half the planet were killed at the end.
Half of the planet.
Now first on the civilian part of this, this was a ballsy and very Kingsman-like move,
where I fear they may have jumped the shark.
Killing half the people in the world….now the next movie is gonna have to be post apocalyptic
in a way, I suppose, which I don't know if I like for an Avengers movie.
But they're gonna have to reverse this cuz somehow cuz otherwise I don't really know
if I'll be able to buy this world functioning.
And then as far as the Avengers, it's quite noticeable that it's mostly the new slate
of Avengers who "die", and you can't see it but I put die in quotes.
It's a little bit of a shame that these characters all have future movies lined up,
but even so, I know they're not gonna kill Spider-Man and Doctor Strange and Black Panther
only two years after they've been introduced.
Even so that was an emotional scene, especially with Spider-Man.
Again, I am more invested in Peter Parker than a lot of these characters thanks to that
movie, and to see him breaking down like that in exactly the way that that character and
just a kid in that situation would, it was so heartbreaking.
Also when Tony almost died, yeah I started tearing up too.
I was so sure that was gonna be the end of Stark.
So what's gonna happen in Avengers 4?
Well I've seen a theory floating around and I absolutely think this will happen.
So notice how pretty much all the original Avengers are left, plus a few extra?
Well I think this is gonna come back to a line that's pretty prevalent in this movie
which is something like we don't trade lives, and those original Avengers are gonna trade
their own lives to bring back those who died.
Okoye will trade for T'Challa, Cap for Bucky, Tony for Spider-Man, and so on.
Not sure how that would work for the rest of the world problem, but this would mean
that those stakes are still there and people did die, and it would also be the perfect
passing of the torch and incredibly emotional and a great way to see our original heroes
go out.
We'll also get one last adventure with all of the original heroes together, which would
be awesome.
What the rest of that movie will be about, mabe still Skrulls, I don't know.
I'm sure I can make loads of videos on that in the future.
Captain Marvel, Hawkeye and Ant-Man will probably play really big roles though.
So those were my thoughts on Avengers Infinity War.
