How do you find your purpose in life?

You know, you meet some people who just know and have always known what they want to do

– what career they want, where they want to live etc.

Take me for example, from a very early age I always knew that I wanted to be a comedian

– and my family used to laugh at me….well they aren't laughing now….

Anyway, and on the other hand there are people – and you may be one of them – who struggle

to figure out what it is they want to be doing with their life, who struggle to really feel

like they are in their element.

I'd like to share with you a tool I learned from Rabbi Dr Akiva Tatz which is very useful

in trying to determine what your life purpose ought to be.

He suggested taking out a pen and paper and drawing a big circle on it – I'll wait

for you to go and get one, go on.

Now – inside the circle you should write all aspects of your character, all your talents

– more than just the kind of things you might get on a school report card – this

should be a comprehensive analysis of your personality type – are you warm and empathetic

– do people pour their hearts out to you?, or are you more talented with machinery than

being a people person, are you talented in music or sport?, are you determined & disciplined?

– and then outside the circle write down everything you are not – personal traits

perhaps you wish you had, but don't – things you are not very good at doing or being.

Study your circle.

You are looking at a picture of you.

The real you – not the one other people say you are, not the one you fantasize to

be – but the real you.

Now, if you were placed on a building site and given a bag of tools and you weren't

sure what you were meant to be doing – all youd need to do was look inside the bag to

figure out what your job is.

And the same is true here – look at your circle – these are your tools – and that

will clue you in to what you are meant to be doing in this world.

Never think you lack the tools you need for life – either you haven't discovered your

tools yet (and yes sometimes it can take a while to discover all your talents) or you

are mistaken about your life purpose.

Everything you need to fulfil your potential exists within you.

It's critical though, not to envy a role that someone else has when you could never

achieve that.

It's like when you see those people appear on the X Factor where they are convinced they're

brilliant but actually have voices that are, well, terrible – not everyone can be a pop

singer – and perhaps much less people would aspire to become celebrities if we didn't

live in a world that glorified them so much.

But once you are clear on your circle, then you will lose any sense of jealousy because

you'll recognise your own worth.

And once we have our circle what do we do with it?

Childhood and adolescence is the time for exploring our circle.

Adulthood is the time when we draw our circle to a close and begin our life's journey

of cultivating our talents – our inner circle.

Our purpose comes where we take our inner circle and we use it for the betterment of

our world.

That's how you discover your purpose.

As Rabbi Jonathan Sacks eloquently put it – Where what you want to do meets what needs

to be done.

That is, in a nutshell, is how you discover your unique purpose in this world.

Good luck!

Simple Glowy Makeup for Summerrr - Duration: 6:49.

Hey guys!

It's Carmen in case you don't know.

So, today imma do a really simple summer glowy makeup look.

So if you wanna know how to achieve this, please keep on watching.

So first thing first we are gonna put on some sunscreen.

I'm using this Biore UV Aqua Rich Whitening Essence.

After sunscreen Im gonna put some primer on.

I'm using the CoverFx blurring primer today.

Just put it in my T-zone.

Now come to the foundation part.

Im gonna use the Fenty Beauty Pro Filt'r foundation in the shade 290.

For concealer, I'm gonna use ColourPop no filter concealer.

I'm gonna mix light 16 and medium 26 because the medium one, it oxidizes a lot like it

literally turns orange.

So imma mix it with a lighter color.

This one is really like really light.

And then after all of that, we are gonna set it with laura mercier translucent powder.

Onto the brows I'm gonna use anastasia brow definer what color is this it's in dark brown.

For eyes I'm only gonna put falsies because in summer you don't want too much stuff on

your face.

well at least for me.

Im gonna use Ardell's faux mink eyelashes.

It's Denny, denny , demi-wispies.

Before that I'm gonna curl my eyelashes and put some mascara on.

Im gonna use the Benefit Badgal bang mascara.

Well after you put the mascara on you don't HAVE to put falsies on because thats an extra

step and you know.

But for the sake of this video I'm just put them on.

Im gonna put them on with my DUO lash glue.

Omg I love these they look so good.

After my eyes and my eyebrows area Im gonna go back to my face, Im gonna use my hoola

bronzer.

Now to get that extra glow, instead of using a normal blush, we are gonna use a pink highlighter.

Im gonna use Cheehoo which is from Bretman's collab with Morphe as my highlighter slash

blush.

For the actual highlighter, Im gonna use get lit from the same omg.

For the last step we are gonna put on some gloss, this one is from elf in the color champgn

glam.

Melania Trump's Simple Dress Makes Surprise Visit Detained Children At the Texas - Duration: 8:01.

First Lady Melania Trump arrived in Texas Thursday morning for a surprise visit to children

being held at the border by her husband's administration - at exactly the same time

as he claimed there was a 'massive child smuggling industry' at the border.

Dressed in a creme button down safari jacket, white pants, and sneakers, the First Lady

arrived in a rainy McAllen, Texas, to tour two facilities where children are being held.

But when getting on a government plane at Andrews Air Force Base she wore a $39 Zara

military jacket with the extraordinary message printed on the back: 'I don't care, do u?'

'I'm looking forward to meeting the children,' she said during her visit to the Upbring New

Hope Children's Shelter, a facility that is sheltering 55 children.

In Washington D.C. her husband spoke at length before a cabinet meeting, claiming that there

was a 'massive child smuggling industry'.

'People are suffering because of the Democrats.

They created, and they have let it happen, a massive child smuggling industry,' he said.

'The human traffickers are making a fortune.

It's a disgrace.'

His comments come after he had to execute a u-turn on child separations which had exploded

because of a new zero-tolerance policy for people crossing the border illegally, with

Border Patrol ordered to arrest and prosecute every person caught crossing illegally.

The Texas briefing was a rare opportunity to hear the first lady speak.

She is mostly seen and not heard when at public appearances with her husband.

She did not ask questions when she joined her husband two weeks ago at a hurricane preparedness

briefing at FEMA.

But the solo trip gave her a chance to address officials in Texas.

'Thank you for all you do,' she told officials as she started the meeting.

She spoke softly and in a slightly accented voice.

Her first question was: 'How often do the children get to call and talk to their families?'

She also asked officials what kind of shape the children are in when they arrive.

'I've heard they are very happy.

They love to study.

They love school,' the First Lady said.

She also wanted to know how long the children stayed at the center and if they were without

the parents.

Officials told her the majority of the children had arrived unaccompanied - meaning it is

unclear how many were victims of family separation.

Melania Trump's communications director Stephanie Grisham said the first lady wanted see the

facilities for herself and to thank the staff working in them.

'Her goals are to thank law enforcement and social services providers for their hard work,

lend support and hear more on how the administration can build upon the already existing efforts

to reunite children with their families,' Grisham said.

Her visit comes amid a political firestorm for the Trump administration.

President Donald Trump took heavy criticism from both sides of the aisle, former presidents

and his own wife about the 'zero tolerance' immigration policy that resulted in migrant

children being separated from their families at the border.

Melania Trump issued a rare public statement on the issue over the weekend, inserting herself

into a policy issue that she had previously been silent upon.

Her next visit was to the Ursula Border Patrol Processing Center, a Customs and Border Patrol/Department

of Homeland Security intake center where migrant families spend a few days.

Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar traveled with her.

Her spokesperson said the First Lady will continue to be a vocal presence on the issue

as administration officials try to work out ways to reunited children and their families

after President Trump signed an executive order on Wednesday.

'While we're going through that process she's going to lend her support and promote family

reunification and I'm sure she'll continue to give her husband opinions on what she's

thinking along the way,' Grisham said of the visit.

Grisham emphasized how much the first lady wants to see children reunited with their

families.

'She'll do everything she can and she'll speak her opinions as much as she can.'

Melania Trump's visit comes after President Donald Trump credited her and daughter Ivanka

for helping change his mind about separating children from their families.

President Trump, when he signed his executive order on the issue on Wednesday, indicated

that lobbying from Ivanka, who showed him pictures of the caged and kenneled children,

and wife Melania had caused him to have a change in heart.

'Ivanka feels very strongly about it.

My wife feels very strongly about it.

I feel very strongly about it.

I think anybody with a heart would feel very strongly about it,' he said.

The first lady also saw the photos from the border and heard the recordings of children

being separated from their families.

'She's seen the images.

She's heard the recordings,' Grisham said.

'She was on top of the situation before any of that came out.

She was concerned about it.'

Grisham said Mrs. Trump saw the images of kids behind chain link fence at an intake

facility.

'The images struck her, as a mother, as a human being.'

Melania Trump asked her staff on Tuesday to plan a trip as soon as possible – before

President Trump signed the executive order and Grisham said she wasn't sure if Mrs. Trump

knew that the order was coming.

'I don't know what she knew.

She knew what she wanted to do and she told us,' Grisham said.

'She wanted to see everything for herself….

She supports family reunification.

She thinks that it's important that children stay with their families.'

'This was 100 percent her idea.

She absolutely wanted to come.'

And it was her idea to visit before her husband signed his executive order, Grisham said,

and she had no second thoughts after the order was signed.

'She wants to see what's happening for herself and she wants to lend her support, executive

order or not.

The executive order certainly is helping pave the way a little bit, but there's still a

lot to be done.'

President Trump supported this trip but he didn't send her.

'This was her decision.

She told her staff she wanted to go and we made that happen.

He is supportive of it but she told him, "I'm headed down to Texas," and he supported it.'

'She wants to see these children and she wants to help children.

It's not about anything more than that….

She wants to see what's real.

She wants to see a realistic view.'

The immigration debate is a rare public policy issue that Melania Trump has inserted herself

into.

The first lady issued a rare public statement on Sunday about her husband's 'zero tolerance'

policy.

It appeared to break with the Trump administration's stance.

Grisham said in a statement that 'Mrs. Trump hates to see children separated from their

families and hopes both sides of the aisle can finally come together to achieve successful

immigration reform'.

'She believes we need to be a country that follows all laws, but also a country that

governs with heart.'

Melania Trump is an immigration herself.

She was born in Yugoslavia, what is now Slovenia and came to New York City in 1996.

She became a permanent resident of the U.S. in 2001 and became a citizen in 2006.

She is the first naturalized U.S. citizen to become First Lady of the United States.

Asked if her immigration background influenced Mrs. Trump's views, Grisham said she didn't

know.

'I don't know that it plays into her thinking but I can tell you guys that when she came

into this country she did it legally and she feels that everybody should enter the country

legally,' she said.

President Bashar Al-Assad Explains in Simple Words the Nature of the Iranian Presence in Syria - Duration: 5:08.

Some people are talking about a certain prize that Syria will get if Iran actually left Syria

Is there a certain political, moral, or military prize in this regard?

As I said before, Syria's relationship with Iran is not for sale

No prize can buy this relationship, and the answer will be clear: Don't you dare!

Such a prize was suggested by different countries, Saudi Arabia for instance

Not only at the beginning of the war, but also many times later

The offer was: If Syria cut all ties with Iran, the situation will go back to normal

This principle is absolutely unacceptable for us

So there were Saudi initiatives in this regard?

Assad: During the war? Anchor: yes

Of course... More than once.

Not covert, but in the open

Anchor: overtly? Assad: overtly. The relationship with Iran was the main issue

Anyway, the Saudi stance towards this issue is clear. I am not uncovering any secrets

One of the most asked questions by the public in Syria, Iran and Lebanon

A question asked by any one who is following the news about Syria

We are talking about Iran and its presence in Syria

However, recently we got confused about the nature of the Iranian presence

Many questions about the Iranian presence. The profession of the Iranians

Some call them "Consultants". The Syrian foreign minister called them so

At the same time, we read about martyrs among those Iranians in Syria

Mr. President. Frankly, what is the nature of the Iranian presence in Syria?

The word "Consultant" has been used to express a broader meaning

Many Iranian consultants came to Syria as part of the military collaboration that started long before the current war in Syria

When a battalion moves to battle, the consultant assigned to it will become a commander

The word "consultant" in this regard is versatile

There are Iranian consultants in Syria, that is certain

There are also groups of Iranian volunteers led by Iranian officers

Iran fought for and defended the Syrian people. Iran bled for our cause

We used the word "consultant"... It may be a generic word

But this doesn't mean that we are embarrassed by the Iranian presence in Syria, even if it was more official

The word "consultant" was used because there are no official units from the Iranian army in Syria

There are no official battalions from the Iranian army in Syria

If such units exist, we won't be able to hide them

And why should we feel embarrassed by the Iranian presence!

When we asked the Russians to come to Syria, it was legal and we didn't feel embarrassed

And if there were official Iranian battalions, we will declare their existence

This would require official agreements between the two states and the approval of the parliaments

These things can't be hidden

You invited the Iranian consultants?

Of course. From the beginning we invited the Iranians and the Russians

We needed the support of these states

They accepted and came to help

Mr. President! More than once you said that there are no Iranian military bases in Syria

Assad: True

Why are there no Iranian bases in Syria, while many Russian bases exist?

There is nothing that prevents the existence of such bases in Syria, as long as Iran is our ally, like Russia

If Iran asked, would you agree?

It is the other way around. We would ask Iran to send forces in order to support us.

Iran didn't ask and its sole interest lies in destroying the terrorism

But the conflict escalation led to changes in the nature of the allies presence

This happened with the Russians

In the beginning the Russian and Iranian support was different from their support today

After the massive increase in the international support to the terrorist groups,

the nature of the Russian and Iranian presence had to change too

At some point we found out - with the Russians - that Russian airbases were necessary to provide air-support to the Syrian army

Today if we found after negotiating with the Iranians,

that there is a need for Iranian military bases, we won't hesitate

However, for the time being the Iranian support in its current form is quite effective

GoBearTV Ep 19 | Simple Secrets To Save On Your Grocery Bill - Duration: 4:01.

Hi GoBearTV viewers!

Remember me?

I'm Mary Lim-Tay, full-time tai-tai.

Eh, you like my new look?

Nice right?

I just want to introduce you to my hubby,

Mr Lim Tow Kay.

Please, please, please, just call me TK.

You know, people always say, "good things must share".

So today, Mary and I are going to reveal to you

our secrets to saving on grocery expenses.

Ya, we're actually on our way

to buy our groceries right now.

Join us ah!

Eh, where did I park our car ah?

Eh, it's there lah dear, there.

Oh okay okay. Let's go, let's go.

Here's our first secret.

Use co-branded credit cards

for the supermarkets you shop at.

Such credit cards will do anything from

unlocking bigger discounts and cashback

to giving you exclusive rewards.

Mary and I love coming to Sheng Siong to buy fresh seafood,

so it was a no-brainer to get the

Bank of China Sheng Siong Card.

The Bank of China Sheng Siong Card

allows me to get up to a whopping

12% cashback on my Sheng Siong spend,

and up to 5% cashback on Grab and taxi rides.

You can apply for the card through GoBear,

just like how I did.

And let's not forget that it's Wednesday today.

On Wednesdays, senior citizens above the age of 60,

like my dear dear here,

can get 3% off their grocery bill here at Sheng Siong.

Here's secret number 2.

Check for promotions and offers

before your supermarket visit.

If you're a discount diva like me,

you'll never pay full price as far as possible.

So always plan your grocery shopping list around what's on sale!

You can check out the latest supermarket deals

in newspapers, online or even at the supermarket itself.

Just look out for your supermarket's noticeboard.

It's shocking how much you can save when you buy in bulk.

The more you buy of an item,

the more you save on the unit cost.

And that's our third secret.

Here at Warehouse Club,

you have access to larger products,

value packs and exclusive imports,

all for a reasonable membership fee.

But remember, buy only what you need.

Groceries that you can't consume or use

before they expire is just wasted money down the drain.

Hello? Fatimah ah?

Eh, gather all the girls around my place tonight ya?

We're gonna split the Warehouse Club groceries

and then we're gonna have a potluck, okay?

Here's secret number 4.

Don't forget about wet markets.

Sometimes, traditional is best,

and you will find fresh food at good prices

at your neighbourhood wet markets.

But you know what I love best about wet markets?

Being able to buy small amounts of ingredients.

So you spend less and waste less!

And if you're a regular patron of a stall,

make friends with the owner!

You might get special discounts on your purchases.

Hair this shiny and beautiful needs tons of conditioner.

And hair this black needs lots of hair dye.

Lucky for us, there are health and beauty stores

all over the island that charge way less,

and I mean way less for any toiletries

and beauty products as compared to the big chains.

Don't be surprised to find your favourite toiletries

and beauty products going for far cheaper

than the regular selling price.

And this is our final secret for today.

After a long day of shopping, it's time for us to head home.

But we have even more secrets to save on your grocery bill,

so keep a lookout for the next episode

by subscribing to GoBearTV right now

so you won't miss it.

And if you have any grocery bill-saving secrets of your own,

don't forget to share in the comments below.

Until next time,

Bye bye!

Simple Sparkler Shoot: Take and Make Great Photography with Gavin Hoey - Duration: 5:28.

In this video I'll show you how to take

a sparkler and a light bulb and create

an amazing picture at home.

Hello I'm Gavin Hoey

and you're watching AdoramaTV,

brought to you by Adorama

the camera store that's got everything

for us photographers

and in this video I'll show you

how you can take an amazing

photo of a sparkler

and a light bulb in your small home studio,

so let's take a look at the setup

and it is really simple.

At the back I've got a small

sparkler and it's tiny.

It's a sort of thing you'll find in a cake

or maybe a cocktail.

In front of that is a light bulb.

This just happens to be a vintage

light bulb, which means there's

a yellow color to the glass.

You don't need that

but it looks good in the final picture.

Both of those are held in place by a

small piece of blue-tac

and I will see the blue-tac in the final shots

but fortunately it's really easy to remove

that in Photoshop. Now everything is

placed on a black glossy floor tile.

I don't need that as such

but it does two important jobs;

the first one it gives a little bit of protection

from the sparks

but the second job, it adds a fantastic

reflection below. Now when it comes to

taking the pictures I will need to turn

all the lights out and do this in total

darkness, but that doesn't mean to say

that the background will go black,

so I've got a black background there,

so you can clearly see the sparks,

so that's the setup.

What about the camera?

I'll be using my trusty Ben Road tripod for this

because the shutter is going to be open

for a full one second.

That long exposure

means I've got lots of time to capture

lots of sparks.

I also need a depth of field

that's quite large

so I'll use f/11

these sparks travel further

than you think.

To balance up the exposure,

I need an ISO 400.

How do I know that?

Well I've already practiced

and worked out the exposure

so you don't have to.

Now to get all those dialed in,

I'll need to be in manual mode

on the camera and I'm going to be in manual focus,

and I'm going to focus right in the

middle of the light bulb.

Once the rim lights are turned out

autofocus probably won't help.

The camera itself is actually lined up with the

light bulb and directly behind it

is the sparkler and that should mean the sparks

will come out from the centre of the

light bulb. Well, at least that's the idea.

Let's turn the room lights out,

get this lit and take some pictures.

Those pictures look really good,

but there is a bit of a problem with the light,

the sparkler is passing light through

the glass of the bulb but of course it can't

come through the metal of the bulb

so whilst the sparkler is cooling down,

I'm going to turn the room lights off

once more, get my lighter and hold it in front

of the light bulb

to illuminate the metal part of the bulb.

I'll take a picture of that making sure my camera

and bulb haven't moved

and then in Photoshop we'll bring everything

together and we're going to do that

right now.

Well the sparkler might have been small

and it didn't last very long

but I got lots of pictures in that short time

and of course the more sparklers you use

the more variety of shots you'll get.

Every one will be different

and this is the picture I've chosen to work on.

I like this shot because it's got a nice

symmetry to the sparks

and a great reflection below

but you can clearly see that,

well it is a little bit kind of

silhouetted in this area here.

Well that's where the final shot

that I took this one comes into play

because this one has that lovely color

and shape in the bottom of the light bulb.

Now you might think I'm just going to cut that

part out and paste it in

but one of the big advantages

of being on a tripod

is I can actually just take the whole

picture. So in Photoshop

I'm going to go to

select and all,

then across to edit

and choose copy,

I'll jump back to the other

and going back to the top

and choose edit and paste.

Now those two pictures are going to be

in perfect alignment and if you're

not sure, well we can check that

by going over to the layers and we now have two

layers. All I need to do is change

the layer blending mode

which is currently

set to normal.

I'm going to change it to screen.

Screen has a magic blending mode

where anything that is pure black

becomes totally transparent and we get

to see straight away that this

is perfectly aligned.

It looks great down here

but I have a Zippo that I don't need

and some weird reflections there,

so let's remove those but not necessarily

by how you might imagine,

in fact what I'm going to do is go up to layer,

layer mask

and choose hide all,

now that will remove everything

that I've just done

and that sounds like a backwards step,

but that's just made life a lot easier

because all I need to do

now, is to go to the brush tool,

make sure my foreground color

is set to white just

press 'd' and then 'X' if it isn't

and then I just have to paint right here

and I can just paint that area back in,

just like that

and there you go.

Now that blue-tac at the bottom

might need cloning out

but other than that, there it is.

My final picture is completed

and it has amazing

detail when you look up close.

Well if you've enjoyed this technique

hopefully you'll give it a go yourself

and leave me a comment below. If you want

to see more videos from myself

and the other amazing presenters
