News on Youtube Jun 5 2018

Hello everyone, how are you going? Karen Finnin here, Physiotherapist and

Director of Online Physio. So health professionals out there I need to have a

little chat to you. I was scrolling through Facebook the other day, as I do, and

I'm a member of a group of from a, I guess a women's podcast that I listen

to. They've got a big associated following

and in the Facebook group they share a lot of quandaries that, you know, groups

of women would chat about, and one of the posts really resonated with me and I

wanted to share it with you today because I think there's a really strong

lesson in there for all of us allied health professionals, particularly

AHPRA registered health professionals, with a really credible health

background. So this is the post. I'm going to just censor it slightly. I don't want

to identify or name and shame anyone. I'm not about that at all, but the sentiment

I think is really important. So she writes 'Guys, I need to get something off my

chest. One of the most listened to podcasts in

Australia right now is hosted by a wellness influencer with, from what I can

glean, zero qualifications, and her content creator boyfriend. Each episode

they give health advice and tips to their listeners. They have thousands of five-star

reviews even though they have only been creating episodes for about a month.'

She also says 'No hate towards alternative medicine, I've used

acupuncture for my chronic asthma before, so this certainly isn't a hate against

natural medicine.' She says 'How do we feel about this? I see it as rather problematic

that too unqualified people are giving health advice to the masses, especially

when one of those people has strongly hinted that she's suffered disordered

eating in the past. It's so high up in the charts and I need to talk about it.

Please tell me if I'm overreacting please.'

So the comments that ensued from that were really interesting some people

knew this influencer and liked her work, but a lot of them were saying 'Where

are the credible health professionals giving us this information?'

and this is where I want to reach out to you guys. For some reason in I suppose AHPRA

regulated health professions we feel that our credibility may be singed by

getting out there, by blowing our own trumpet, by doing all the marketing

things that we see, you know, fitness professionals doing and healthy eaters

doing and all that sort of stuff, but I want you to see, and I know I need to

tell myself as well, that people are asking for it. They want this information

out there by qualified, evidence backed health professionals, and that's where we

come in. So rather than feeling like getting our message out there and

hitting the social channels, and being on videos and podcasts is selling out in

some way, it's absolutely not. It's doing the opposite. It's bringing our high

quality education, skills and interactions into the mainstream media

and that's what we need to do. It's not enough just to sit in our clinics

anymore and stay there and wait until people come in and pay us to give our

brilliant advice. We have to be getting these messages out there

So it certainly resonated with me and made me more determined to get my great

messages out there to my Online Physio patients and potential patients, but what

can you be doing to reach out more. Maybe you've been watching a bit of stuff

online but not really getting into it yourself. Get your great quality

information out there, get you out there because the public are asking for it. I

hope that's enough of a talking to. Get on to it, get your good quality

information out into the world, and the world will thank you for it. All right I

look forward to speaking to you next time guys, see you later. Bye

DON'T BE THAT DRUNK GUY IN PUBLIC!

LOS ANGELES 2018 #Summer #Drunk #Summer2018

Don't be the drunk guy in public where you do not know how drunk you are.

When drunk people go out and do not know that other people around them are watching their

drunk self, make a drunken fool out of themselves.

Los Angeles can be very interesting late night and last night, my friend, that one drunk

guy in public making a total mockery out of himself in Los Angeles.

Drunk people who didn't let me sleep at 4 AM

Just don't be that person.

Drink Responsibly.

Don't make a fool of yourself in public.

level?

"Alcohol, tobacco, and illicit drug use are major global risk factors for disability and

premature loss of life," the researchers write in the report's introduction.

dependence ,opioids, and cocaine, more frequently.

Europeans score high on heavy drinking Per capita, Central Europeans drink 11.61

liters of alcohol per person, Eastern Europeans drink 11.98 liters per person, and Western

Do You Suffer Fear And Anxiety When Speaking In Public? - Duration: 5:46.

Hi Facebook live Trish leadyourlifestyle.com a life of freedom and choice

when I asked you today, how does it feel when you get presented with the

opportunity to

Deliver your message from stage

Do you go into some sort of fear and anxiety?

Do you?

Have heaps of excitement about the fact that you've been

Acknowledged enough to be able to present your message on stage

so I

Before leaving for Cleveland. I've arrived now in my home in Cleveland my second home and

I

got approached two days ago to

See if I wanted to

deliver a presentation on stage in front of about

250 people and

to do that in a week's time and I was like initially so

Excited like really excited super excited. I think first of all it was

acknowledgement for the work that I'd done and the work that I had put in and the value that I'd provided and

I think it was acknowledgement of my

Performance. It was acknowledgement of the value that I've been providing to to people and

it was just

Acknowledgement in general of the work that I've done on my business and the value that I've created within that business model, too

So I was super excited like super excited and it's funny. That was my initial reaction

Then when I had time to think about it after the phone call

fear and anxiety started to sort of you know

approach itself like fear and anxiety started to come in and and I was starting to

doubt myself and starting to wonder

What it was that I was going to speak at speak about because I've been given a lot of freedom

With respect to what I want to speak of

With respect to the business of my journey

and

With that freedom can come confusion right like not knowing

how to structure it not knowing

seem to have not knowing what value to provide not knowing how to provide that value and

You start to worry about sometimes it's better that somebody gives you the topic exactly what the outcomes are

and

That way you can structure it a little easier at the moment. I have no idea and so I

spoke with a business associate and she said you know

You should just talk about your story talk about the progress that you've made

You know in the last

15 years because that's really my whole story is the progress I've made in the last 15 years with my traditional business and

in the last two years with my online businesses and just talk about

your journey and

with that

becomes a lot easier because it is your journey and a lot easier to share and

with that journey speak of the

Challenges and the obstacles and the adversities and how you overcame those obstacles and adversities

What challenges did you have to meet and how did you overcome them? And

Just time lighters so, you know timeline your journey so that you can follow it

And so others can follow it and so you don't over complicate it

So I thought that was brilliant. I came away from that conversation. That was yesterday that I had that with another online business owner and

What did I do I turned into wanting to complicate it wanting to

Provide more value provide additional value and to do that. I thought you know what?

why don't I take my book at the 7 steps to creating an online business and

Why don't I weave my story in amongst those 7 steps?

so I started typing it out last night and

You know what I over complicated it and I think it's the worst thing you can do

by overcomplicating a presentation you a lot more fear and a lot more anxiety comes into the process and

You start to doubt what you want to deliver. I think you have to keep it back to basics and you have to

Oversimplify it so that when it comes to delivering something on stage and your nerves and your anxiety

Kicks in it's so much easier when you have something that's not so complicated

So I had another conversation with her again today

And I've said you know what?

I'm going to step it back a little bit and make sure

That I don't over complicate and just share my journey and by sharing my journey

What I'm going to do first is start off so that I can get a structure

I'm going to actually start off with the slides. So I'm actually going to just use pictures

photos and those photos will go into the slides and then with each photo will come a story of storyline and

I think that's the way to approach it and that way I

Can actually fill in the gaps if I ever have to when it comes to

being up there on stage being nervous because I know I will be and

You know, my story is is my story and I know how to share that story so

That's my share today. I will keep you updated and how I go with that but the presentation will be this Saturday and

I'll keep you updated Trish leadyourlifestyle.com a life of freedom and choice. Bye everyone

Donald Trump Stuns DC – Secret Meeting at White House Goes Public - Duration: 11:23.

Donald Trump Stuns DC – Secret Meeting at White House Goes Public

President Donald Trump has surprised people all over the country with who he is meeting

at his White House today.

Daily Mail reported that Trump is meeting with reality television star Kim Kardashian

to talk about prison reform and pardoning a first-time drug offender.

She will first meet with the president's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, before she gets

her audience with the president.

Kardashian will be asking Trump to pardon Alice Johnson – a 62-year-old woman who

is serving a life sentence without parole for a first-time drug offense.

Kardashian has been campaigning for Johnson's release in a series of talks with the White

House over the course of the last few months.

She initially reached out to Ivanka Trump and established a connection with Kushner

through her.

Kardashian will not be joined by her husband, Kanye West, who is a Trump supporter.

During the meeting, she would like to "explain to [Trump] that, just like everybody else,

we can make choices in our lives that we're not proud of and that we don't think through

all the way."

Kushner has long pushed for prison reform, which is a deeply personal issue to him given

his father Charles' own year-long incarceration in 2005 – for tax evasion, illegal campaign

contributions, and witness tampering.

He has been an outspoken proponent of the First Step Act, which was created to offer

job training and drug-treatment programs as an incentive for inmates.

This act would also allow nonviolent offenders to have their last bits of sentences served

in halfway homes or house confinement.

"If we can start showing that we can make the prisons more purposeful and more effective

at lowering the recidivism rate over time, that may help the people who are trying to

make the argument for sentencing reform," Kushner is believed to have said in a White

House meeting earlier this month.

"

Public Service Commissioner John Lloyd resigns | The New Daily - Duration: 3:33.

One of Australia's most senior and highly paid public servants has resigned amid questions over his conduct

Public Service Commissioner John Lloyd was appointed to the role by the Abbott government in December 2014, but has advised the Governor-General he'll be stepping down in August

Mr Lloyd was responsible for ensuring the bureaucracy complies with its code of conduct and meets professional standards

He has proven a controversial figure in the federal public service due to his links to the right-wing think tank, the Institute of the Public Affairs, and the government's unpopular wage caps

In January, the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet referred an allegation that Mr Lloyd breached the Public Service Code of Conduct to the agency's watchdog, Merit Protection Commissioner Mark Davidson

The department did not make a judgment on whether the allegation was true, but there was a view that it was serious enough to be considered by the watchdog, who makes sure the code of conduct is adhered to

When the allegation was referred, Mr Davidson was only acting in the role. Given the allegation involved one of Australia's most senior and highly paid public servants, Mr Davidson wanted the decision to be made once a permanent commissioner had been appointed

But by mid-March, Mr Davidson was still acting in the role and he knew it wasn't a good look to sit on an allegation for four months

He asked a former department secretary to help him consider whether a formal investigation was necessary

At this stage, it is not known what the allegation is, or who made it, but Labor and the unions have been very critical of Mr Lloyd's ongoing correspondence with members of the Institute of Public Affairs, accusing his correspondence with them as bipartisan

Before Mr Lloyd was appointed by the Abbott government, he was the director of work reform and productivity at the IPA

He has repeatedly defended his ongoing correspondence with the organisation as appropriate when pressed by Labor senators during estimates hearings

Mr Lloyd's last day will be August 8.-ABC
