News on Youtube Jun 7 2018

Hey there! It's Stephanie from SixFiguresUnder.com. Every month we make our

personal finances public in hopes of inspiring you to get your finances in

order and to help show you how to do it. We are already five, almost six, days into

June so I've already got June all budgeted out but I want to show you what

we did in May, well how we spent our money in May. We live on last month's

income, so that means the money that we spent in May was all earned in April.

During April we just set all the money that we earned aside and then at the

beginning of May that amount was up here at the top of the budget and then we

assigned each of those dollars to our different budget categories. So this

column is the amount we budgeted. This column is the amount we actually spent

And this column is the balance. So some of the categories we change the budgeted

amount at the end of the month to zero out these categories. For example

electricity. We start the month with 300 but we only actually our bill was only

289.99 so then I zeroed this out instead of saving the couple of dollars

there I just changed the budgeted amount. Other areas in the budget down in the

sinking funds we just let that money collect that we that we don't use that

month it just adds up. So let's go up to the top. The first thing we pay each

month is tithing. That's based on what we earned in April. We pay a 10% tithe on

that income. Have a fast offering each month. Our monthly bills are pretty

straightforward, pretty much the same every month. Car insurance for our two

older cars 168 a month. Just thirteen dollars for my cell phone with Republic

Wireless the plan I'm on (which isn't offered right now) is

called Republic Refund so I get refunded for the data that I don't use. But even

if I use my full, what is it, half a gigabyte it's

17.50 month, so it's very very affordable. I'll leave a link below if

you want to check them out I definitely recommend them. Our mortgage we

refinanced a couple months ago, I talked about that last month, brings our

mortgage to 3200 a month and we are an extra month ahead on this so we put the

3200 in there's already 3200 in there so there's still another 3200 remaining. So we

always want to be an extra month ahead on our mortgage just to be safe

Internet fifty bucks a month. Like I said electricity we usually set it at 300 and

then use it below, though I'm worried that in the summer it's gonna be a

little bit more. Our home phone through OOma, I'll put a link to that in the

description too. That's just 4.35 a month. My husband works from home several

days a week and so it's nice to have that. It's not really a landline it's through

the computer, through the internet.

Trash is every other month so this is half of what the bill is. Water same

thing comes every other month. It's about ninety dollars every other month. Now our

everyday expenses these ones are much more variable than those regular monthly

bills. Our groceries we usually set at $400 a month for our family of seven

Back when we were paying off debt we had it at 300 but we kind of bump that up

lately. If you watched my video or read my blog post at the beginning of the

month I showed our monthly grocery haul which we spent 90% of our grocery budget

in that haul. We spent three hundred and sixty dollars so that last $40 I

spent later in the month and then we went over the last couple days a month

we went over the budget but that's okay. Fuel we've had this at 400 but the

prices keep going up and we keep driving. My husband commutes to downtown about an

hour or a little bit more every, let's see,

three days a week. So two hours of driving three days a week so that was

464. Clothing, what did we get? I got a new swimsuit. I got a couple pairs of shorts

from the thrift store and I got a new pair of running shoes for my husband and

a couple of other little things here and there.

Household 192. If you follow me on instagram you've seen me gush about my

new laundry baskets I'm so excited to have eight matching sturdy laundry

baskets that I can sort all the family's clothes into. I got those at Walmart. The

set of four was less than 16 dollars for this. I got two sets of four. Let's see

also in the laundry department I got some Purex laundry detergent which is

the kind I usually buy but at Walmart they had the coupons on it that were "get

three dollars off of two" and then there's an Ibotta rebate for $2 off

or $2 rebate on each bottle and so I got a really great deal and that that I

bought an offer after I used it the first time came back again and I went

and Walmart still had those peelie coupons right on the bottles and so I did it

again. I did it three times so we're stocked up for a while on laundry

detergent. If you haven't tried the ibotta

app yet I'll leave a link in the description and that will give you a $10

bonus after you redeem your first rebate. Also in the household category I got

some carpet cleaner solution. I'm trying out a new kind and oh I got some some

new cloth diapers to replace some that we've had for I don't know six years

that we're getting kind of leaky and not working as well so we got a couple of

new or six new cloth diapers. In the fun category we got a pool pass at the local

pool. My husband and I also had a little date night where we got burgers at

in-n-out and we got ice cream. We also got ice cream for the kids one time.

Animals-- this is really low for us this is just

for like a 45 pound bag of cat food. We have plenty of chicken food because we

bought it a couple months ago when it was on sale for a really good price. Kids

activities-- this is for a gift for my son's wrestling coach this is more than

I would normally spend on a gift on a teacher gift/coach gift but his

wrestling coach, we didn't pay anything for him to do this program and

the coach it's all volunteer and anyway so we at Sam's Club spent $40 to buy a

$50 gift card to Coldstone so got that for him so he can go out with his family

Periodic expenses. These are our sinking funds so we put $300 in toward car

repair but we spent eight hundred and forty-one dollars. My husband got it

tune-up on his car and we also bought the parts so my husband could fix the

brakes on my car on the van, so that brings us pretty much to what we put in

this month were down to 300 total in that category. Medical would put in 100

have about 500 there. Dental put in 30 have 150. Registration smog put in 40. The

total of that category is 144 right now. Birthdays and gifts we put in 40. We

spent 45. That was for three teacher gifts for my kids teachers. Christmas we

put in a hundred we have 500 in that category right now. Life insurance 70. If

we put in 70 every month we'll have the what we need when it is due. Home

projects-- we didn't budget any money toward this but we had a bunch that we

budgeted in past months. We bought a new living room ceiling fan to match one

that we got several months ago. So we have two living room ceiling fans in

there now that match and are nice! Let's see we put $200 toward our family

reunion that's coming up this summer so we can do fun things at the actual

reunion. $60 a month is how much we spend for allowance fur for older kids who get

allowance. It's a little bit tricky in implementation so it looks a little

confusing here because we do it in cash. It's the only category that we do in

cash and sometimes our kids buy things online and then pay us the cash and

anyway so it's a little tricky, messy looking here but $60 is how much we

spend on allowance. Emergency fund we put almost $1,600 toward our emergency fund

from our normal budget. We also put another thirty two hundred that came

from our rental. Now when we first started renting a year ago we put in

about five thousand dollars out of pocket toward our rental getting things

fixed up and everything and so we've just kept all of our rent money aside in

a separate account until now when we finally broke even and so we

put two thousand dollars left in that account just kind of as an emergency

fund for the rental and then we took thirty two hundred of that which we owe

to ourselves-- it's not income it's just paying ourselves back from what we paid

out of pocket toward the rental-- and we just put that straight toward the

emergency fund so you don't see that here because it was just transferred

between accounts it wasn't income that we budgeted. So the emergency fund is up

to nineteen thousand five hundred something. A hundred dollars a month is

what we put toward 529s for our four older kids. This retirement pension for

my husband comes straight out of his check so this doesn't ever even hit our

budget but I keep track of it here just for fun. We put 550 a month toward

my IRA and that will have it maxed out by the end of the year. We put 25% of my

blogging income aside for self-employment taxes and in the past

this has actually covered both my blogging business and my husband's law

firm, has covered the tax liability for those. Ninety dollars a month in for our

tax planning and preparation plan that we have with our tax guy and that pretty

well covers it. Oh this kids fun this is a "kids fun fund" and I don't usually

report this or talk about this because this is my kids money but most of it

comes from the OhmConnect program which is a program in California where you can

earn money for saving electricity they give you a couple of hours during the

week where you just try to use as little electricity as possible and then you

earn points for money and anyway I'll put a link to that in the comments below

so you can check it out if you're in let's see California or Texas or Toronto

I think. If you have any questions for me go ahead and leave them below. Obviously

I'm open to talking about this we're laying it all out on the table here so

feel free to ask don't be shy! I share a budget report update like this

every month so if you're interested in seeing more like this go ahead and

Melania Finally Emerges In Public After Weeks And Is Attacked Over What Camera Caught - Duration: 4:46.

First Lady Melania Trump was finally seen in public after weeks of her presence is missed.

She went through a surgical procedure and appeared to be recovering and/or working at

the White House, but didn't seem to make many public appearances for the last several

weeks. Her "missing" status conjured up the conspiracy theorists who blatantly attacked

the woman for not being in public as much as they wanted her to. Everything from divorcing

Donald to doing other weird things took over a minuscule portion of the Internet run by

trolls. Finally, Melania walked over the bridge as the Internet trolls underneath looked up

and caught a glimpse.

Melania made an appearance at an event for Gold Star families to honor the fallen who

given their all to fight for the freedoms of this great country. It was a Gold Star

daughter named Jena Greene who was lucky enough to capture video of Melania in her finesse

and glamorous form as she arrived. She took the video, but sure enough, it didn't take

long for people to go on the prowl and bring out their inner troll. the video was bashed

and people were saying things like Melania had a stunt double, or that wasn't really

her, and there sure was a lot of people laughing at the people who posted things like that.

Some couldn't tell if people were just joking to make light of the conspiracy theorists,

or if they were truly honest in what they were saying.

Regardless, here is Gold Star daughter Jena Greene's video of Melania Trump making her

appearance.

Fox News gave us more insight on the "missing Melania" theories that people came up with:

"Mainstream media members jumped the shark and took Trump Derangement Syndrome to new

heights by concocting tales of domestic abuse when trying to determine first lady Melania

Trump's whereabouts before she showed up to a White House event on Monday night.

Melania Trump was painted as "missing in action" when news broke on Sunday night

that the first lady, who is fresh off an operation for a kidney condition, will not join her

husband on a pair of international trips. CNN even aired a g*****c of a calendar, placing

question marks on each date since the first lady was "last seen" on May 10 – but

CNN's coverage turned out to be less appalling than some conspiracy theories floated on Twitter.

Rolling Stone senior writer Jamil Smith wrote, "I wish that I didn't suspect that the

prolonged, poorly explained public absence of Melania Trump could be about concealing

abuse. I wish that it was a ludicrous prospect."

Media Research Center Vice President Dan Gainor told Fox News that CNN's calendar graph

"was sickening," but "to see a Rolling Stone writer claim the absence was possible

domestic violence is demented."

The Atlantic senior editor David Frum also insinuated that domestic violence was the

reason why Melania Trump laid low for a few weeks.

"Suppose President Trump punched the first lady in the White House (federal property

= federal jurisdiction), then ordered the Secret Service to conceal the assault. POTUS

has Article II authority over Secret Service. Is that obstruction? Under Sekulow/Dowd, apparently

NO," Frum tweeted.

Media analyst Jeffrey McCall told Fox News that "it really is sad that some corners

of the media world so easily engage in unsubstantiated speculation," simply to bash the president.

"Imagine the outrage if that had happened during the Obama years. This is how low the

left is willing to go, straight out of the gutter and into the sewer," Gainor said.

McCall added that, "It is bad enough when this happens with regards to policy matters,

but it is really out of line when it deals with somebody's personal behavior. This

kind of toxic and polarized public dialogue damages the public sphere in so many ways."

Smith and Frum did not immediately respond when asked if they will issue an apology.

Rolling Stone and The Atlantic did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

"Pundits who have engaged in such wild rumoring should, indeed, apologize, but I don't think

that is likely to happen," McCall said. "The moral compasses of pundits who would

engage in such unsupported allegations are so out of whack that a public apology would

not cross their minds."

The conspiracy theories were debunked when Melania Trump attended a scheduled White House

event honoring Gold Star families Monday evening. Videos of the first lady at the event were

quickly posted on social media, showing the first lady wearing a sleeveless black dress

and strolling into the East Room accompanied by President Trump.

Let's just say that people have too much time on their hands if they're creating

conspiracy theories right after Melania has a surgical procedure and might need to rest

for a little bit.

Share this with someone who would get a good laugh.

I won't say what Mary usually says

I don't want to steal her thunder,

but I do hope that some good comes out

of this meeting we're going to have

with the North Koreans.

I just hope something good comes out of that.

And we're not gonna see a whole lot of success,

but I just, I hope we see some success.

I think that's important to the whole world.

Okay, let's see here what do we have?

Motion, we need a motion to approve

the May 1st minutes, please?

sections 7.3, excuse me, 7-3-60 parent eight,

or is that b, that's parent b I'm sorry and parent c.

You're in the wrong spot.

All right, item 7a, action.2018/2019

retail alcohol license renewalls

I just did that to see if you were on your toes.

You're on your toes, okay.

So, Patrick, go ahead, please.

Good evening Mr. Chairman.

Good evening committee members.

Real simple, this is just a few names that were omitted from

last month's list and everything is above board.

I would just make a recommendation to approve

with the contingency that all fees and outstanding

indebtedness to the village is paid in full

at the time of dispersing their license.

Okay, any questions, issues?

All right, someone wish to make a motion?

If not, I'll make a motion to approve

these license renewals.

Seconded.

The move to second to approve

the alcohol license renewals on item 7a.

Any further discussion?

All those in favor?

Aye.

Opposed, motion carried.

Thank you.

Item 7b review of the 2018 Mill and Resurfacing contract.

Mr. Burr.

Yes sir.

Before you tonight is our annual milling

and resurfacing contract.

We looked at several different roads.

I can name those off now.

Bradbury Lane, Bradbury Court, Ashley Court.

Autumn Leaves Circle, Christina Way.

Shady Lane, between North Road and Courtney Road.

View Lane, North Road, True Lane.

Perkby Road and Commady Lane.

This year's list is based on our pavers rating.

We do that every two years.

And we have a five year paving program

that we look at the conditions of the roads

and try to each year put the worse condition roads

on the top of the list.

So, this list that I read off was put together.

We estimated the quantities.

Put that up for bid.

It was advertised and in all we received

two bids for this work.

One was from Northeast Asphault.

The second was from MCC.

The bids came in at a little bit

over what the budget of 600,000 was.

The lowest responsible bid was MCC

in the amount of $727,629.

And reviewing the different roads and conditions

we would like a Public Works committee

to recommend a village for the award of the full amount

and we would talk with the contractor

to see what we could do for that contract price.

Okay, I see that the budget was 600,000.

Let's assume that we go over the 600,

where would the other money come from?

Yeah, we would not exceed the 600,000.

Oh, you wouldn't?

Yeah, Doug and I will sit down with MCC

and look at where we could have their

number match our budget amount.

All right, are they local?

Yes, Murphy Concrete, so, they're in the area.

Okay, all right, not that it matters,

I just hadn't heard of them before.

Yeah, they're out of Appleton.

They have plants in Seymour and other areas.

Okay.

Just to add a little history to what Steven was saying,

MCC won the bid, I think it was in 2007.

Somewhere in that timeframe was

the last time they won the bid.

Northeast Asphalt usually wins our bid.

MCC happened to get it this year

and the numbers you see here, the amount,

the 727 or $739,000 amount, that is,

if you remember during budget season,

each of the past years we've been talking about

bumping up that mill and resurface number

because it had been at 500,000 for a number of years.

The amount you see here is the amount that

in Steve's five year plan that we should be doing

to maintain our ratings on our roads

as they are right now.

So we're working that up.

We're adding a little bit each year

to that budget amount to get us to roughly this amount.

This is the amount which kind of,

set our sights for, for the future.

And that's what we put out for bids

to see how much that is each year

to make sure that we're getting

to the correct numbers for budget.

You know these companies,

whether its by two minutes paving

or carpentry or plumbing

or whatever it happens to be, they just cannot find help.

Are you finding that's true in something like this, as well?

Or don't you know?

The paving or the workers on the paving crews

isn't so much an issue as it is the trucking.

Right now the trucking in the state

is stretched pretty thin.

Everybody's looking for drivers, with CDLs,

to drive trucks and everybody's looking

for mass quantities of those trucks

to complete their projects.

That's where there's a little bit of a pinch right now.

All right.

Does Brown County still operate by two minutes plant?

No, they had shut it down years ago,

but they restarted it maybe three years ago, Aaron?

Two or three years ago and I think

they still have it operational.

For their purposes.

Okay, all right, any questions, issues?

I just want to make a comment.

I drive frequently in Green Bay on their streets

and I can tell you, you guys really keep

Edge Providence's streets in good shape.

Thank you, that's one of the goals

we try to not, to be better than Green Bay,

just, we try to keep our ratings

as similar as possible each year.

We appreciate some of the residents that call in

and they give us ideas of which streets to pave

and we're able to have pretty good conversations with them

and they're pretty understanding about

how we lay things out also.

So, it works out pretty well.

I just find it interesting that

Ken's house is on the list.

But, you know. What, what?

That your house is on the list.

No, no, no, they only plow us first in the winter time.

That's not true, don't put that in the paper.

No, actually, is it 20 or 25 years we've,

I know it's not exact,

but that's roughly the time when almost

every street in the village gets redone.

Is it 25?

Yeah, between 20-25 years.

Okay, that's what I thought.

There are some that will last longer.

Like on a cul-de-sac, they'll last longer

because they don't see as much traffic.

There's other main roadways like Shady Lane,

that's probably got maybe 18 years out of it.

It just kind of depends on traffic

and what's under some of these roads were built back

quite awhile ago and we find

interesting things underneath 'em

and we have to remedy that.

Okay.

I'd like to make a motion to approve

the 2018 Mill and Resurfacing contract

for the amount of $727,629 noting that

Public Works staff will work towards

the $600,000 fund with the projects.

I'll second. Motion by Josh.

Second by Janice.

Or Joanne, I'm sorry, Joanne.

Any other questions, issues?

All in favor?

Aye.

Opposed, motion carried.

Are we done, let's see here.

I think that's it.

All right, any other issues, no?

Motion to adjourn?

Oh I'm sorry, wait a minute, one more.

I was hoping we discuss July 3rd.

Oh yeah, yes, good idea, thank you, thank you.

Terri just reminded me, July 3rd all right with you folks?

Josh?

I'll make it work.

Alison?

If we have a meeting. If we have a meeting.

Or we could reschedule it, if it's easier.

I'll be here on the 3rd.

Yeah, I'll make it work.

Okay let's try it and see if,

I'm always here, so its not a problem.

All right, motion to adjourn?

Did we have one of those already?

So moved. Second.

All right, motion by Joanne.

Second by Alison, all in favor?

Aye.

Motion carried, thank you, folks.
