IT'S ALL OVER – ROBERT MUELLER SCANDAL GOES PUBLIC

Yesterday, we reported that White House Special Counsel Robert Mueller has said that he wants

to question President Donald Trump as soon as possible.

While many initially assumed that this was bad for Trump, there could be a silver lining

for the president after all.

Fox News reported that experts say that reports of Mueller wanting to speak with Trump indicate

that he is nearing the end of his investigation into the president's alleged collusion with

Russia during last year's election.

Prosecutors pretty much never interview their highest-ranking potential target until they

have acquired most of the evidence since they want as much ammunition as possible when they

finally speak with him.

This would mean that it's unlikely that Mueller's investigation will continue for

the next year or two, casting a dark shadow over the White House for that entire time

period.

It was revealed yesterday that Mueller told Trump's lawyers last month that he will

probably seek to interview the president, which set off discussions among Trump's

attorneys about the perils of such a move.

The Washington Post reported that "the president's attorneys are reluctant to let him sit for

open-ended, face-to-face questioning without clear parameters, according to two people

familiar with the discussions.

Since the December meeting, they have discussed whether the president could provide written

answers to some of the questions from Mueller's investigators, as President Ronald Reagan

did during the Iran-contra investigation.

They have also discussed the obligation of Mueller's team to demonstrate that it could

not obtain the information it seeks without interviewing the president."

An unnamed source told the New York Times that Mueller "appeared most interested in

asking questions about the former national security adviser, Michael T. Flynn, and the

firing of the F.B.I. director, James B. Comey — not the broader question of possible collusion

with Russia.

Those topics signal an interest in whether Mr. Trump tried to obstruct justice."

Trump himself has always made it clear that he wants Mueller's investigation to end

as quickly as possible, as he is confident that no evidence of him colluding with Russia

will be found, since he knows it never actually happened.

"We have been very open," Trump told reporters at Camp David.

"We could have done it two ways.

We could have been very closed, and it would have taken years.

But you know, sort of like when you've done nothing wrong, let's be open and get it

over with."

Melania Slipped And Made Mistake In Public, Now Libs Are Making Sick Accusation About Her - Duration: 4:39.

Melania Slipped And Made Mistake In Public, Now Libs Are Making Sick Accusation About

Her

Melania Trump's love for America, especially has an immigrant of this country, has been

evident from the moment she became our first lady.

She has shown more patriotism and respect than her predecessor, Michelle Obama, namely

to our troops who were disregarded for eight years under the Obama administration.

However, there's nothing that she can do that impresses the left and isn't met with

harsh criticism.

She was reminded of that on the nation's birthday this year when she made an incredible

most to recognize Independence Day and was immediately brutalized for it because of one

word.

Barack and Michelle Obama couldn't be bothered to send a meaningful message to the country

they once presided over, which seems to prove how they really feel about the American people.

Melania took the time to share her sentiments and gratitude, but the incessantly hateful

left didn't see it that way.

Instead, the took issue with one insignificant mistake and used it in an attempt to make

her look worse than Michelle Obama who didn't say anything at all on the holiday.

One of the most incredible things about our current first couple is how personable both

the president and first lady are.

They don't place themselves on higher ground than the people in this country they are working.

They're relatable and that's what makes them great leaders.

Unintentionally proving that she's "real" to other people, Melania, made a minor mistake

with a single letter in a single word within her Fourth of July message on Twitter.

It happens to all of us who tweet on the go and share before scrutinizing every fine detail

of what we were posting online.

This microscopic oversight that was immediately remedied with a fresh, corrected post, apparently

ended up being a "gift" to liberals on our nation's birthday since it provided

them ample ammunition to assault our first lady with.

AmoMama reports what Melania did and points out that she actually wasn't the only one…but

seems to be the only one being attacked for it:

On Wednesday, the American people took the time to celebrate their Independence Day with

many taking to social media.

A number of people found themselves spelling the word Independence wrong.

One such person who spelled Independence as Independance was First Lady Melania Trump.

She quickly picked up her wrong tweet and fixed it while others failed to notice their

mistake.

The hashtag IndependanceDay quickly spread on Wednesday as the US celebrated their patriotic

holiday.

Some people kept misspelling the word until the hashtag was autocorrected to the wrong

version by Twitter.

Among those that used the wrong hashtag was the US Air Force, the city of Boston, the

Canadian Space Agency, and First Lady Melania Trump.

Even the All-Star pitcher, Justin Verlander, and the State of New Jersey all fell for the

same trap.

Trump originally tweeted 'Happy #IndependanceDay May God bless this great nation & all the

people who protect it!'

However, 8 minutes later the tweet was removed and the one with the correctly spelled Independence

Day was uploaded.

Despite the quick fix, the spelling mistake didn't go unnoticed.

Many social media users made fun of those that failed to pick up the spelling mistake.

Instead of being patriotic, it seemed that some Americans were celebrating a day that

had something to do with dancing.

'Oh, America, you've actually successfully gotten #IndependanceDay trending and nobody

in the thread is noticing that "independence" IS SPELLED WRONG,' a Twitter user wrote.

Despite the effort by people to alert others to the spelling mistake, it was still found

in serious and thought-provoking posts.

It appears that the safest and easiest way to celebrate the day is by writing 'Happy

4th of July.'

At least with that statement, it's not easy to misspell anything.

It's pretty despicable for a major media outlet like USA Today to put FLOTUS on blast

for a simple mistake on the Fourth of July.

That's divisive and was probably intentional.

This proves one thing, that if the worst that can be said about Melania is a minor spelling

error than she's in a great place.

Let's look back at Michelle's Fourth of July post when she was FLOTUS.

Had Melania done this, the scrutiny would have been endless, but for Michelle, it was

considered cute and folksy.

There was no nod to America, our heroes, gratefulness for a free country, the land she's supposed

to love.

A simple "Happy 4th of July, everyone" and then her dogs fighting over something

one the floor.

Who is "everyone," Michelle?

Does she mean the American people or someone else?

A little sincerity goes a long way.

Michelle showed none and was rather disrespectful in her message.

Melania accidentally added an "a" where there should have been an "e," but at

least she was really sharing her appreciation for America, unlike Michelle's message

Today's Google Doodle Honors Public Health Pioneer Helen Rodríguez Trías. Here's What to Know - Duration: 3:17.

Google is wishing a happy 89th birthday to public health pioneer Helen Rodríguez Trías with its July 7 Doodle

Trías, who died in 2001, was born in New York City on this day in 1929. She spent her early childhood years in Puerto Rico, and the island and its people would remain significant throughout her life

Trías completed both her undergraduate and medical studies at the University of Puerto Rico, securing her medical degree in 1960

During her residency — and while raising four children — Trías established Puerto Rico's first care center for newborn babies, halving her hospital's infant death rate in three years, according to the National Institutes of Health's (NIH) Changing the Face of Medicine project

A decade after graduating, Trías returned to New York City and threw herself into work at Lincoln Hospital, which served largely low-income Puerto Rican patients in the South Bronx

There, she headed the department of pediatrics and eventually developed a passion for improving women's health and abortion rights

Trías was pivotal in reshaping practices around female sterilization, which at the time was commonly used on women of color, women with disabilities and low-income women, according to the NIH

She was a founding member of both the Committee to End Sterilization Abuse and the Committee for Abortion Rights and Against Sterilization Abuse, and helped draft federal sterilization guidelines in 1979

In the 1980s, Trías worked as the medical director of the New York State Department of Health AIDS Institute, where she fought to improve the health and well-being of women with AIDS

Throughout the rest of her career, she continued to devote herself to women's and children's health, along the way becoming the founder of the New York Latino Commission on AIDS and the first Latina president of the American Public Health Association, according to the New York Times

In 2001 — the same year she died from complications of lung cancer — her efforts earned her a Presidential Citizen's Medal

Wichita Police Buy Drone and Navigate Public Privacy Concerns - Duration: 4:24.

The police in Wichita, Kansas are facing a conundrum countless other law enforcement

and public safety groups are facing across the United States these days, namely, how

cut costs and increase efficiency by implementing unmanned aerial vehicles, while retaining

the public trust to not aerially invade the privacy of its citizens.

According to The Wichita Eagle, the Wichita Police Department is purchasing a drone intended

for crash-site monitoring, SWAT scenarios, and securing the nine-day Riverfest celebration

from any potential threats.

Naturally, citizens are already reading between the lines and considering what a breach of

these stated intentions could mean for the future of their privacy and state of law and

order.

At least that was the focus on behalf of the Citizen Review Board last week, which questioned

police Capt. Doug Nolte and his department about the newly-proposed drone policy.

"Before we actually deploy it or ever use it, we want to have a policy in place so people

are aware of the fact that we have it, what we are going to use it for, what they can

expect, and I think if you listen to what [board members] were mentioning today, there

are definitely concerns about privacy," said Nolte.

The proposed policy, detailed in a nine-page document presented to the Citizen Review Board,

claims unmanned aerial vehicles will help "the Department in the prevention of crime,

the apprehension of criminals, the preservation of the public peace, and to protect the personal

and property rights of the citizens of Wichita."

Police Chief Gordon Ramsay, well aware that the most sensitive aspect of proposing law

enforcement get its hands on sophisticated surveillance tools was privacy rights, began

the discussion by not only referring to public fears of "Big Brother," but by asking

the Review Board for suggestions and advice that could potentially alter the proposed

policy before implementation.

While the document itself states UAVs would merely be used for more efficient law enforcement

operations "while continuing to safeguard the right to privacy of all persons," it's

the only instance in the policy that privacy is even mentioned.

Additionally, while the most logical use-cases for drones here likely comprise search and

rescue, aerial crime scene documentation, and monitoring public events, the policy is

vague regarding any restrictions on behalf of the police's actual drone usage.

The document does detail the requirements pilots would have to accomplish before flying

UAVs, such as completing mandatory training and learning the requisite Federal Aviation

Administration regulations of local airspace, as well as garnering an FAA-authorized license.

Additionally, a trained observer who helps the pilot navigate must be present.

Naturally, this didn't assuage the Board's concerns regarding privacy issues, such as

the embedded cameras collecting high-definition imagery of private property.

"That is my worry, too," said Ramsay in response.

"I've got a pool and I have children, and I don't want some stranger hovering

over that watching."

Although, a concrete response to whether or not the police would be allowed to pilot UAVs

above private property without a warrant was never given during the meeting.

Ultimately, the Review Board's notes demand more information from the police regarding

technical capabilities of the drones themselves, potential risks, airspace restrictions, audio-visual

data collection, and specifically, guidance from the Department of Justice regarding targeted

surveillance of people or property.

As it stands, Nolte said rewriting the policy with a focus on privacy is next, in order

to assuage the Board's concerns when the two entities meet Aug. 2.

Hopefully, a mutual middle ground will be found at that time, offering increased law

enforcement efficiency while retaining citizens' rights.

NEGLECTING AGING PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION HURTS OUR ECONOMY - Duration: 5:41.

NEGLECTING AGING PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION HURTS OUR ECONOMY

Many people are aware that our nation struggles with modernizing and restoring its crumbling transportation infrastructure, and they likely know that this in part comes from decades of underinvesting in America's transportation systems.

But it may be a surprise to learn just how much this underinvestment — specifically in America's aging bus and rail transit infrastructure — directly negatively affects our economy today and in the years ahead.

The Federal Transit Administration has identified a backlog of $90 billion needed to restore and modernize U.S. public transit infrastructure and assets.

Now, a new study, The Economic Cost of Failing to Modernize Public Transportation, shows that failing to address this backlog will result in a $340 billion loss in business revenue to the U.S.

economy over a six-year period — nearly $60 billion dollars annually. This is just one of the many wide-ranging negative effects of failing to address the public transit backlog.

The report, which was conducted by the Economic Development Research Group for the American Public Transportation Association (APTA), shows the extent to which deteriorating public transit impacts Gross National Product (GNP), and results in lost jobs and wages.

Aging public transit infrastructure in America leads to lost time in travel and makes a region's economy less productive. It slows down workers' economic output, which directly impacts business revenue in our economy.

Such a lack of productivity causes a decrease of $180 billion in America's GNP, which includes a loss of $109 billion in household income and 162,000 jobs over the same six-year time frame referred to earlier.

In addition, the quality of businesses that locate in an area is tied to the efficiency of a transportation system, and this directly impacts workers' earning potential.

A good example of this is Amazon, which has been prominently featured in the news over the last several months. Officials at Amazon are searching for a second headquarters in North America.

With the addition of the company's new $5 billion facility, Amazon will generate 50,000 high-paying jobs with yearly salaries of $100,000 or more.

Amazon's project highlights the importance of an efficient transportation system as a part of its ideal location requirements. Specifically, the company requires, "Optimal access to mass transit, which means direct access to rail, train, subway or metro, and bus routes.".

It's compelling proof: the country's top businesses, like Amazon, understand that a region's economic output is directly tied to a robust public transportation system.

When we look at the nation's transportation assets, America's aging bus and rail infrastructure may have the greatest need for investment.

In fact, in their latest report card, the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) graded the nation's public transportation infrastructure a D-minus. That is the lowest grade ASCE gave to any category of U.S.

infrastructure, including that for roads, airports and water. The fiscal year 2019 appropriations process is a crucial opportunity for Congress to help address the nation's aging public transit infrastructure and the backlog of state of good repair and modernization needs.

We thank Congress for their recent bi-partisan effort in passing its fiscal year 2018 budget and the President for signing it. This included significant increases in federal investment in public transit.

Yet while this is a positive step forward in helping to address the nation's aging public transit infrastructure, we must maintain this momentum by providing higher levels of funding for public transportation in 2019.

We are also calling on the Administration and Congress, in a bi-partisan fashion, to address the urgency of the Highway Trust Fund solvency, which expires in just over two years.

This will provide predictable, multi-year funding to not only address America's deteriorating infrastructure, but provide for continued investment to help grow the nation's economy.
