Oh my god its so creepy.

Hey guys, thanks for tuning in to Amy's Crypt.

Today I am checking out a super creepy, abandoned, haunted hotel in Argentina.

Let's go take a look.

The Gran Hotel Viena was built by a German family after learning of the curative properties

of the Mar Chiquita Lagoon.

The Pahlkes first built the hotel in 1938.

The construction continued into the 1940s.

The hotel formed into a luxurious retreat for the high society and their families.

It attracted many visitors from overseas, especially Europe.

Much mystery and controversy sorrounds the Gran Hotel Viena.

Most of its construction occured between 1940 and 1945 before its eventual closure in 1946.

Many believe that the German built hotel actually had ties to Nazi capitals and was in fact built

as a hospital to care for soldiers and generals during World War II.

Sensationalized rumours even exist that Hitler may have fled to the Gran Hotel Viena post

World War II.

The hotel's curious history ties in with its most prevelant ghost story, which is also

clouded by mystery.

In 1946 after World War II the Pahlke family left Argentina and closed down the Gran Hotel

Viena.

They left the head of security, Martin Kruegger, in charge of the property.

Kruegger was a proud war veteran who had earnt many medals during World War II and lived

on location at the hotel.

In 1948, Martin Kruegger was found dead inside the hotel.

He was hunched, lifeless over a table with a bottle of alcahol, cotton, and a glass nearby.

To this day, his death remains a mystery.

Noone is sure wether he committed suicide or was murdered,

yet his cause of death was most certainly ingesting poison.

Kruegger's ghost is thought to remain in the hotel.

He is thought responsible for causing the sound of keys and heavy footsteps often heard

coming up the empty stairways and hallways by tour guides.

Footsteps is supposedly something that is common in this hotel.

Many have also witnessed his apparition, most often sighted in room 106, which was his former

bedroom.

The apparition of a female has also been sighted throughout the Haunted Gran Hotel Viena.

She is rumoured to be the unofficial lover of Martin Kruegger.

In addition, many have sighted the ghost of a little girl, shadow figures, and light anomalies.

There are even frequent reports of disembodied voices, unexplained music, electrical disturbances,

and objects such as doors moving on their own.

Could the Gran Hotel Viena be one of the Most Haunted Places in Argentina?

I investigated.

Alright guys, I am going to take you into one of the most infamous rooms in the hotel,

that's room 106.

This is the hotel's most haunted room and we are going to try a Spirit Box here.

Alright, I will have to look over that later.

Apologies for my very poor attempt at speaking German.

I do not speak German at all.

So the hotel tour operators have been kind enough to let us back into the hotel after

our tour to explore all by ourselves.

But they havn't put the lights back on so it's really creepy.

There's just all of these empty rooms with the scariest looking mirrors as well.

I wanted to arrive here a little earlier.

Because I wanted to eat dumplings in Utsunomiya.

But it's already late time.

So I drink in the room after a long time.

I bought this at a convenience store.

The smell of a lot of meat.

Yummy.

Fire and explosions force family-of-four to flee Turkish hotel - Duration: 6:45.

 A Welsh couple and their young children had to be evacuated after a fire at a five-star hotel in Turkey

 Charlotte Gentile was staying at the TUI Magic Life Masmavi in Belek with her husband Matthew and their three small children when a fire broke out in a nearby room

  The 30-year-old from Cardiff said they were only alerted to the fire after hearing screams and people banging on their hotel room door as they made their escape

 They had to take their three daughters, aged nine, six and 15 weeks, out of the building through a central marble staircase in thick black smoke, alongside other guests

 Charlotte claimed she did not hear a fire alarm, or see any signs pointing to fire escapes

 "We were all in bed at about quarter past seven in the morning," Charlotte said

"I was just putting the baby back down to sleep.  "I heard what sounded like a gun going off and there was all this screaming and then I went onto the balcony and you could hear it again

A lady was on the balcony opposite us screaming.  "Everybody thought it was a terrorist attack

You could see down from our balcony on the fifth floor there were people running out of the entrance to the green area in the middle

"  Charlotte said they heard several more loud explosions as well as banging on their hotel room door

 "My husband opened the door and the landing was just full of smoke," Charlotte said

 "He said grab the kids. You could see all the smoke coming out of the balcony window

"  She claimed some fire exits did not seem to open.  "So everyone was running down the circular stairs out of the main entrance

"  Charlotte said she saw people trapped on balconies having to climb over horizontal ladders to escape

 The family waited outside for several hours with other guests. When the fire was finally extinguished, some people were allowed back into the building to retrieve belongings

 Her husband Matthew went inside with another man to collect baby formula and Charlotte went later to salvage other items

 "The whole room was flooded," she said. "A lot of our clothes were smoke damaged

"  She said she believed the building was potentially unsafe.  "We should never, ever have been allowed back in there to get our stuff out

"  The family were later taken to another hotel where they have remained for the rest of their holiday

They are due to fly home on Monday morning, July 9.   A TUI spokesman said: "We can confirm there was a fire which was contained in the main building of the TUI Magic Life Masmavi in Belek, Turkey, on the 2 July, 2018

 "All guests in the main building were evacuated, the emergency services attended and the fire, which was quickly under control, was successfully extinguished

 "Our resort team at the hotel were on hand to support our customers. Customers staying in the main building were moved to alternative accommodation

 "We have been in direct contact with all customers who were staying in the main building of the hotel and a gesture of goodwill has been offered

 "We are thoroughly investigating this incident and would like to reassure customers that the safety of our customers and staff is of paramount importance

"

'Seahorse hotels' bring an endangered species back from the edge of extinction

It is not much more than a chicken wire cage, but the nicely named "seahorse hotel" is behind a population resurgence of Australia's endangered white seahorse.

One of the largest concentrations of seahorses in the world was once found at Port Stephens on the New South Wales coast, until wild storm seasons from 2010 to 2013 destroyed habitat and almost destroyed the population.

"If you wanted to see seahorses, you'd come to Port Stephens.

You'd hop in here and you'd see 30 to 40 seahorses on every single dive, it was fantastic," said Dr David Harasti from NSW Fisheries.

"But in just a three-year period the population declined by 90 per cent.

One site where I used to get 400 animals, I saw 10 there.

On another site the population of 200 went down to about 20.

"The decline was quite dramatic and because of that decline the species became the second endangered seahorse listed in the world.

Dr Harasti said several large East Coast Low storms shifted large volumes of sand in the port which smothered the seahorse habitat of soft corals and sponges.

A number of poorly located moorings and anchor damage from boats also contributed to the habitat destruction and left behind vast tracts of barren sand.

Underwater hotels are born.

Fortunately, Dr Harasti was struck with inspiration.

"I used to see old discarded crab traps underwater covered in sponges and algae and just by chance I'd see seahorses living on them," he said.

"So we decided to introduce our own artificial habitats and I've called them seahorse hotels.

"I've always got this whole concept underwater — if you build it they will come — so we've built the infrastructure for the seahorses, the hotels are there and now the seahorses are colonizing them.

It is still early days, but after just six months underwater, the seahorse hotels are yielding positive results.

"Where we used to have no seahorses.

We've had around 20 or so animals living on the seahorse hotels," he said.

"Each time we survey a hotel there are adults on there, there are juveniles and we're finding they're very territorial, so we tag the seahorses and we find the same animals from three or four months ago still living on them which is great.

Seahorses rely on their habitat to camouflage themselves from predators, as a holdfast to prevent being washed away and as a source of food, predating on the micro-crustaceans that live on the habitats.

Global replication.

The success of the seahorse hotels is being closely monitored by Michael Simpson, who is conducting his PhD on the experiment with Sydney University.

Three different seahorse hotel designs are being trialled for their effectiveness, and so far all the hotels are proving an early success.

"It was a bit of a surprise how quickly seahorses appeared on there," Mr Simpson said.

"It's a good thing in the sense that you may not need additional complexity in a seahorse hotel to promote seahorse numbers.

"It may be as simple as putting a cage out.

The goal of his research is to design a cheap and easy model for building seahorse hotels that could be used in sites all over the world where populations are declining.

Mr Simpson is also trialling the effectiveness of swimming nets as an artificial habitat in Sydney Harbour, another population centre of White Seahorses that is on the decline.

Did you know? Seahorses mate for life.

Throughout the year, male and female seahorses come together in the early morning light and perform a ritual mating dance for several minutes to cement their bond.

Both seahorses can change colour and will curl their tails together, slowly turning as they perform their greeting dance.

And if the time is right, the female will transfer her eggs to the male at the completion of the dance.
