How to Make a Sponge Cake Like a Boss | Simple Tutorial | - Duration: 3:08.
hi guys welcome to my very first youtube video it is a little bit nerve-wracking
to be honest and sorry that the audio quality is not amazing
but today I'm going to be showing you guys how to make this deliciously
light and airy sponge cake I found that lots of cooking channels
don't tend to have their materials listed and I just remember being here
scrambling to find all of my kitchen tools as I'm watching the video so I
will be doing you guys a favour by putting the ingredients and materials in
the description box below, so pause the video and get your kitchen gadgets ready
first you'll want to crack by five eggs and separate the yolks from the whites
and set the whites aside then you want to get a digital scale and weigh off
exactly forty three grams of sugar just kidding forty is fine I just went a
little bit over so then you're going to grab your balloon whisk pour in your
sugar and start to whisk add in one teaspoon of vanilla extract or any
extract of your preference: lemon, orange, coffee, mint, etc and mix
then we're going to pour in 33 grams of milk and in addition 95 grams of cake
flour 25 grams of oil into the bowl and mix until you get these beautiful
ribbons bring the whites back plug in your electric mixer and mix on low until
moderately foamy as you can see here then pour in the 50 grams of sugar and
whipped just past stiff peaks until you get something slightly grainy
after experimenting numerous times I found that this consistency gives the
cake the best texture add 1/3 of the whipped meringue mixture and whisk until
even and with the second 2/3 of the mixture you want to be very careful with
this very gently break the clump of meringue with your whisk and then fold
the rest in with your spatula until you reach this lovely consistency line the
bottom of a tray with parchment paper and pour the batter in making sure to
scrape every surface of the ball with your spatula to make sure nothing is
wasted smooth off the top and drop it on the table a few times to remove
the air bubbles in a larger tray pour in boiling hot water up to halfway full
Center the tray with the batter and bake at 175 degrees Celsius and set a timer
for 30 minutes and you should notice a couple of cracks but that's completely
ok cool the cake for at least 30 minutes until slightly warm to the touch you'll
notice that the cake is a bit shrunken but that just makes it easier to take
out use a serrated knife to cut around the edges flip the upside down take the
tray up and peel the parchment paper away flip the cake over and voila! And
there we have it look at that beautiful delicate airy and sexy moist sponge cake
I hope you guys enjoyed this tutorial leave some comments down below to tell
me what I could have done better and I will see you all next time

The Simple Audio Trick that Makes the V-1 Rocket Amazing in Battlefield V - Duration: 5:32.
Battlefield V has some of the most iconic vehicles of World War II - the Tiger Tank,
Spitfire, and Stuka.
But one vehicle stands out from all the rest - the V-1.
The V-1 rocket was the first of the German vengeance weapons to fall on Great Britain
in World War II.
Designed to strike large cities like London, this early cruise missile didn't need to
be accurate - it needed to be deadly.
Powered by a pulse-jet engine, the V-1 could deliver over 18-hundred pounds (850 kilograms)
of explosives to its target at a top speed of 415 miles per hour (or 670 kilometers per
hour).
It's this pulse-jet engine that gave the V-1 its signature sound and nicknames like
the buzz bomb or doodlebug.
The drone of the V-1 is very unique, and it's loud.
Audible up to 10 miles away, the sound is so rhythmic it's almost calming.
Many would argue this signature sound is what makes the V-1 so terrifying - but they'd
be wrong.
It's actually the absence of the sound that strikes fear, and there's a very simple
explanation for this.
When the V-1 reaches its target, its guidance system puts the flying bomb into a steep dive.
This interrupts fuel flow and cuts off the engine, resulting in an eerie calm before
impact.
Londoners quickly learned the sudden absence of the V-1's engine sound meant they were
in immediate danger.
Although this design flaw was eventually fixed, the mystique around the weapon remains.
Human hearing and the way we interpret sound is fascinating.
On a very basic level, we rely on sound to survive.
We can acclimate to noises very quickly, but going from a cacophony of sound to nothing,
impacts us in an even more interesting way.
It makes us uncomfortable, while hyperfocusing our other senses to compensate.
(It's one of my favorite tricks used in cinema - and one of the reasons I loved the
Holdo's Sacrifice scene from Star Wars the Last Jedi.
The utter silence focuses your vision on the spectacle before you, making it all the more
impressive.)
In a way, the V-1 duplicates this effect - getting louder and louder on the Battlefield before
the engine abruptly cuts out.
In the back of our minds, we know what follows next.
The resulting explosion again cracks the silence and batters our ears, now desperate to locate
noise.
It's a jarring experience, which makes it easy to understand how effective these flying
bombs were as terror weapons.
DICE went to some crazy lengths to get a proper pulsejet sound for the V-1 in Battlefield
5.
The devs actually took a sound crew to northern Sweden where some people deprived of regular
sunlight actually build snowmobiles powered by pulsejets nearly identical in design to
the V-1 powerplant.
It's this sound you hear in Battlefield 5.
During World War II, over 30,000 V-1s were built.
It was cheap to produce, costing only about two percent the cost of a twin engined bomber,
and it put few German pilots at risk.
Ironically, the concept was pitched to the German Luftwaffe as early as 1935, but rejected
as "uninteresting from the tactical viewpoint."
This short-sightedness probably cost Germany much of its air force during the Battle of
Britain.
Had they embraced the idea of an area bombardment weapon sooner, things may well have turned
out differently when Hitler ordered the bombing of civilian targets.
Nearly 10-thousand V-1s were launched against the UK during World War II, and those that
made it to their target inflicted over 22-thousand casualties.
At the peak of the terror bombing campaign, hundreds a day were fired at London.
As the allies made headway in mainland Europe after D-DAY, thousands of V-1s were launched
against cities like Antwerp in late 1944 to 1945.
In Battlefield 5, the V-1 has more value than just cleaning out objectives.
It's an extremely effective distraction.
When players hear the drone of the doodlebug overhead, all eyes look to the sky and try
to determine where it's headed - just like London civilians did decades ago.
This makes it easier to sneak up on your foes.
I'm curious what you think of the V-1 in Battlefield 5.
Is it cool or just a gimmick?
Tell me in the comments!

folks welcome back in this video i'm gonna go through some simple and quick
edits that i do to my photos first thing here is exposure adjustment now with
this photo was slightly underexposed so i want to pump up that exposure there
and also with the exposure i'll play around with some of the highlights and
some of the whites and the shadows as well so we'll just reduce the highlights
a bit here the second is contrast adjustment and with the clarity tool it
will increase the mid-tone contrast in your photos itself and really just
playing around with this slider to see what works best for the photos pretty
much what I do but with Claire Day I usually use just a bit maybe between
five and ten with clarity sometimes a little higher using the adjustment brush
this is to paint in some adjustments on some particular portions of the photo
itself and with this one here I'm going to use the clarity some sharpening as
well we're just gonna paint around just bringing a little more attention to that
portion itself now a couple things with Lightroom there are some some shortcuts
and some very useful shortcuts that I use in almost every one of my photos
especially if I'm doing some heavy edits in Lightroom and that is turning the
lights off so if you hit the L key the L key will turn the lights off it'll fade
them and then I'll turn them completely to black allowing you to see the photo
without any of the background itself but also you can do this with the Y key and
the Y key what that does it splits your photo to show you a before and after so
pretty much a raw photo to where you stand at this particular point with your
editing process and with the adjustment brush I'm going to increase the exposure
and the temperature right here in the corner and reason being is when we get
into Photoshop I'm going to bring in a lens flare to this photo so we'll just
paint this in here without the mask on and that's pretty good there and going
over to Photoshop we'll do some quick adjustments here in Photoshop in the
first is really removing distractions this is always important I'm not going
to go through every bit on this car here but you can see on the steering wheel it
does have some water stains I assume this is because the car does not have a
roof at all it's it's a convertible but it doesn't have any sort of hardtop at
all so now I'm just going to take out a couple here but really it's really up to
your own discretion how much time you want to take to take out these blemishes
there is quite a bit here there's a couple lines I'll easily take these out
this won't take too long now anything to go over some of the
water stains that are in different portions of the steering wheel itself
the the shadows and the reflections are a little different so it could be
difficult but here it looks like a little rust stain or something so we'll
take that out that's easy enough and just taking a look around the photo to
see what else we can easily remove quickly this is simple and quick edits
but if you wanted to take your time to take out more of the the blemishes and
the dirt and the dust and the water stains completely up to you if you
wanted to do that all right so for the lens flare I'm gonna duplicate my
background layer and I'm gonna bring in a lens flare into the corner of the
photo itself and we'll move this to the corner and we'll just take this down
until it's something that that I like so on and off compare what this looks like
all right that's pretty good and for a last step I'm going to bring in a flare
itself and this is just a flare I have and bring it in will change the the
blend mode of this to lighten and we'll simply move this to the corner oh blend
mode we actually have to select and change this to screen there we go so
that there we'll move this to the corner I don't want too much of that in the
photo and control-t allow us to adjust the size of this and also with this we
can what I'm gonna do here is just adjust the the angle of this particular
flare here select that again control T we have to zoom out so we could see the
borders the corners and just adjust that there and there we go so that's it
that's a couple simple and quick edits that you can do in lightroom and
photoshop to enhance your photos so thanks again and I'll see you again in
the next video

It'll give you a great sense of pain relief in your neck area.
Natural remedies.
In addition to these helpful exercises, don't forget that you can always combine these routines with a set of natural remedies, which we'll explain below.
1,Crushed ice.
For this remedy, you need to apply crushed ice onto your neck using a plastic bag.
If you have a small injury, crushed ice makes for an ideal solution for reducing swelling.
Once the swelling has gone down, you'll need to apply a towel soaked in hot water to the area for 10 minutes.
2,Orange peel bath.
Another alternative option to try at home is preparing a bath using three orange peels, four lettuce leaves and two tablespoons of honey.
Mix all of the ingredients in a half liter of water.
Boil for 20 minutes and it'll be ready to go.
This infusion can make a nice option for a relaxing bath.
If the cause of your neck pain is stress or tension, this remedy is the perfect solution to treat it.
3,Nettle poultice.
Nettle is a plant that contains powerful anti-inflammatory effects, which makes it ideal for treating neck pain and headaches.
If you want to make a poultice using nettle, you need to add a tablespoon of dried nettle leaves to a cup of boiling water and let it boil for a couple of minutes.
After, strain the water.
Dip a cloth into the mixture and apply it to the affected area.
You'll find pain relief in a matter of minutes.

Place making: The simple idea behind giant games and adult playgrounds - Duration: 7:49.
Place making: The simple idea behind giant games, lots of chairs and adult playgrounds ABC Radio Perth In the world of place making, walkability is paramount and children are described as "fantastic binding agents"
Dean Cracknell admits it's a wafty term but a simple idea. "[Place making] is like if you imagine moving into a new home, the whole house is empty and you walk in and work out where everything is going to go," he told ABC Radio Perth Focus
"Place making is about turning a space into a place that people really enjoy, and they want to hang out there with friends and relax
" Mr Cracknell is the chief executive of Town Teams, a not-for-profit organisation that assists West Australian communities to build town centres
"If you can imagine those beautiful town squares in Europe where people congregate and gather, that is really place making and in some respects we forgot how to do that
" But unlike deciding where to put the sofa and the TV in a new home, often urban place making has more urgent economic demands and involves a lot more furniture
Urban planner Ray Haeren said he regularly worked with large shopping centres that wanted to attract more visitors in a difficult economic climate
"It's about understanding the way that people shop and work is changing," Mr Haeren said
"If you want to bring people into your centre, you need to have a reason for them to go there
"Competing with online shopping means that convenience is not going to be the key driver; you need to have an experience
Mr Haeren said helping redevelop a shopping mall in Perth's northern suburbs meant making it a place to go out, rather than just go to the shops
"They got in some more food and beverage outlets and a microbrewery, expanded the cinemas and put in bowling, so it became a place to go and recreate and then you might do some shopping while there," he said
"It is not all about getting the chains; you need some bespoke local eateries and that sense of authenticity or it won't connect with the local population
" Universities are also embracing place making to attract students. "We need a point of difference," Hillary Lambert, portfolio manager of place activation at Curtin University, said
"It's become about recruitment and retention and liveability, and it has transformed the experience that people are having on campus
" Ms Lambert said she started with a food truck program. "We have 130 different countries where our students are from, so we are tailoring those food types to what people are used to having at home
"That gives them comfort and belonging and also gets them outside and talking to each other
" The university has also added bean bags outdoors and a giant human billiard table for students to kick a ball around
'Everywhere needs to get better' A sense of fun, with places for people to sit, talk and meet, are a key part of place making
So are giant places to play. Mr Haeren likes playgrounds because "you get kids but also mothers
People start to meet and interact," he said. David Snyder, from place making consultancy Spaced Out, has created a large-scale human foosball board that can be set up at street festivals
"It's something that everyone can do, and it can go anywhere as long as it is flat space," Mr Snyder said
For Mr Cracknell, the Town Teams place making work is less about building profit and more concerned with increasing community interaction in town centres
"You really want to be part of a community and know your local shopkeepers, to relax and see friends," he said
"Everywhere needs to get better and that is where place making comes in. "It doesn't have to be big or expensive either; often it might just be putting out chairs that are nice to sit in and are under shade
" Listeners to ABC Radio Perth said they most valued the opportunity to interact with people in their community and be closer to nature
It might be simple, but as local high streets struggle with dwindling spending and reduced activity on the street, it's vital, Mr Cracknell said
"This is not just nice to have, it's something we need to be doing. "From a local government perspective, it's good for economic development, it's good for healthy communities, it's good for community development
"
