News on Youtube Nov 1 2018

I am going to tell you the reasons that it is very unlikely that you will see

real money by licensing your idea

so this subject has been coming up a lot in the comment section and I want to

talk about it again I've been doing a little bit of research and have been

seeing that if you go out and try to license your invention idea you're going

to get about three to five percent for your invention now when I say three to

five percent what do I mean there's an old trick in the movie industry and I

think it applies here to young filmmakers would go out they get excited

they write their movie script and a few of them would go to let's say wanted to

film festivals and then a movie studio would come along and buy their script

the typical range that a studio would pay for those scripts is anywhere from

twenty-five thousand to let's say three hundred thousand up front for the script

and for the filmmaker who is broke that's a lot of money right there but

they would also sign a contract that would say that they would get say

anywhere from one to three percent of what they call the back end

well that back end is an interesting thing so let's say the movie gets

released and it makes a hundred million dollars there have been quite a few

low-budget films over the year that have been very successful and there were

young filmmakers that had license their script to those movie companies so

imagine the movie does a hundred million dollars in this filmmaker is all excited

because he's doing the math and he says 100 million dollars he's gonna get three

percent oh my god he's getting three million dollars he's rich

did you know that even George Lucas got involved with a product licensing deal

just watch the documentary on Netflix called the toys that made us it took him

a long time to get back the rights and make real money on his products that's

the trick so here's how it really works so remember the movie made a hundred

million dollars but that was in ticket sales it's changed a lot now but years

ago it was typical that the box office would split the proceeds with the studio

so a hundred million dollars would basically be 50 million for the studio

and a million for distributors but here's

where the math even gets worse so we're at 50 million there's also a lot of

marketing and expenses to go into making that movie popular not to mention a

distribution of the film's back then and now video but back then it was film

reels and by the time you were done with all the expenses you're looking probably

at about twenty million dollars on a hundred million film that the studio

made but then don't forget you have all the business expenses that go along with

that we're talking about the overhead at the studio the employees the expenses

for the graphics the television commercials - everything that had to do

with making that film down to the catering so think about that every

single expense came off the top by the time the young filmmaker got their

paycheck it was only a few dollars and actually not a few dollars he's probably

a couple of thousand maybe a hundred thousand if they were lucky but that 3%

really turned out to be a lot less than they had anticipated and when we're

talking about licensing our product ideas we're talking about the exact same

thing so you go out there and you license your product idea let's say you

are lucky enough to get five percent what does that five percent mean is that

five percent of the gross is that five percent of the net is that five percent

of the profits read your contract you might be surprised so let's take an item

it sells for and when we're talking about licensing I'll pick a typical

number let's say we're talking about an item it sells for $25 that's a retail

price but maybe it only cost $10 to make in China or whatever we'll just use that

number remember you have a whole distribution chain in between so really

you're talking about a $10 product that it costs you to make that we're selling

to distributors probably for between 12 and 15 dollars and then they're

retailing at 25 so you're really only making a few dollars on each item even

when it's selling for 25 if a company is making a product for $10 they still have

the cost of distributing it that's all the employees that were used to

advertise the product to potential resellers that's all the advertising

that goes into them marketing them online television radio print material

however they do their marketing all the employees that were used to you know

sell your product to stick it into boxes to put it on trucks the expense of the

gas to get the truck from one distribution to the other the expense of

the Union truck driver to get him to drive the truck from one distribution

place to another by the time you get any money for your invention idea from

licensing there is nothing left and I'm actually gonna do another video about

this and it's gonna be about the taxes as a small business owner and when I say

small business that can be a business that's making you know 100 million

dollars in America that's still probably considered a small business if they're

making a hundred million a year even if that business is making all kinds of

money selling products unless they're publicly traded the last thing they want

to do is to claim a profit on anything because that means that they have to pay

taxes on that money so as a business owner it is a business person's job to

take any profits from the things that they make or do and to reinvest them in

the business to make the business grow so that they can make more revenue keep

the money within the business and pay little in terms of profit now for you

guys that are all about you know greedy corporations and you don't want to hear

this I'm sorry but that's the way it works the more revenue that my company

makes the more money that I begin to spend on the business and as a country

wherever you're located that's what you want businesses to do because we can

spend the money better than our governments we can hire people we can

buy real estate we can invest in technology we can invent new things

that's what we do with money that we keep instead of paying taxes and

where does the money that we pay taxes go really think hard about this are we

investing in the future of our country or are we investing in the future of our

government because if you pay taxes you know that your money is better spent by

you than anybody around you in government you know if the guys from all

these other inventions shows haven't found my channel yet they're going to be

hearing a lot of me pulling the curtain away and showing what they are doing to

you is the inventor and I hope you're listening I hope you hear what these

people are doing to you yes they may be making you a little money but you can

make more for yourself just like you can spend your money better than the

government can you can earn your money better than

those licensing people can help you to make money

you

How Much Does Your Life Weigh? - Duration: 3:21.

How much does your life weigh?

Imagine for a second that you're carrying a backpack.

I want you to feel the straps on your shoulders.

Feel them?

Now I want you to pack it with all the stuff that you have in your life.

You start with the little things,

the things on shelves and in drawers and knickknacks, the collectibles.

Feel the weight as that adds up.

Then you start adding larger stuff, clothes, tabletop appliances,

lamps, linens, your TV.

The backpack should be getting pretty heavy now.

And you go bigger.

Your couch, bed, your kitchen table.

Stuff it all in there.

Your car, get it in there.

Your home, whether it's a studio apartment or a two-bedroom house,

I want you to stuff it all into that backpack.

Now try to walk.

It's kind of hard, isn't it?

This is what we do to ourselves on a daily basis.

We weigh ourselves down until we can't even move.

And make no mistake,

moving is living.

Now I'm gonna set that backpack on fire.

What do you want to take out of it?

Photos?

Photos are for people who can't remember.

Drink some ginkgo and let the photos burn.

In fact, let everything burn

and imagine waking up tomorrow

with nothing.

It's kind of exhilarating, isn't it?

You have a new backpack.

Only this time, I want you to fill it with people.

Start with casual acquaintances, friends of friends,

folks around the office.

And then you move into the people

that you trust with your most intimate secrets.

Your cousins, your aunts, your uncles,

your brothers, your sisters, your parents.

And finally your husband, your wife, your boyfriend or your girlfriend.

You get them into that backpack.

Don't worry. I'm not gonna ask you to light it on fire.

Feel the weight of that bag.

Make no mistake, your relationships are the heaviest

components in your life.

Do you feel the straps cutting into your shoulders?

All those negotiations and arguments and secrets and compromises.

You don't need to carry all that weight.

Why don't you set that bag down?

Some animals were meant to carry each other,

to live symbiotically for a lifetime.

Star-crossed lovers, monogamous swans.

We are not those animals.

The slower we move, the faster we die.

We are not swans.

We're sharks.

Antifreeze Poisoning In Cats: how much will KILL + can they survive? - Duration: 8:48.

to my mind antifreeze poisoning in cats rates as the most serious common

toxicity seen in veterinary practice stay tuned as I discuss why this is what

symptoms and signs to look out for how much antifreeze will kill a cat and just

how likely they are to survive I've we've not met before I'm dr. Alex from

ourpetshealth.com and my aim is to help you and your cat to live a

healthier happier life so make sure you're subscribed if that's something

that you're interested in so what is antifreeze and where is it found well

the main active ingredient in antifreeze is a chemical known as ethylene glycol

and it is this that is poisonous so don't confuse this with propylene glycol

which is a completely different chemical that is found in many products as well

as certain foods and drinks propylene glycol can be found in certain

antifreeze products but even here it is generally considered safe ethylene

glycol is the ingredient you need to be worried about so now that confusion is

out of the way where do you find antifreeze well the most common use of

anti freezes in cars either radiator fluid screen wash and some d

ices understandably then the most common source of antifreeze poisoning in cats

is in garages driveways and in workshops so antifreeze is those sometimes put in

the water of ornamental ponds and water features in gardens and poisoning has

been known to occur from this source even though the product has been diluted

with a large amount of water so how is antifreeze poisonous to cats well one

big issue with antifreeze is the fact that it seems to be attractive to cats

it has a sweet taste which makes it appealing to dogs and children now as

you may know that cats can't actually taste sweet but nonetheless they do

still appear to be attracted to the taste of antifreeze and this is a real

problem as it doesn't take much hantai freeze to be poisonous to cats as I'll

discuss a little bit later so the signs and symptoms of antifreeze poisoning in

cats can be broken down really into three stages in stage one that starts as

early as 30 minutes after consuming the poison and it can last for about 12

hours or so it's characterized by nervous signs and that includes

incoordination wobbliness disorientation mental depression you're also likely to

see vomiting alongside an increase in thirst and urination

Stage two takes place between hours 12 and 24 following poisoning and during

this time your cat actually might seem to be improving but really underneath

the surface irreversible damage will be taking place and stage 3 is when

complete renal failure takes place urine stops being produced in the symptoms of

this include lethargy anorexia dehydration vomiting diarrhea or

alliteration salivation fast heart rate fast breathing possible seizures and

coma the kidneys also might be swollen and painful on examination and as you

can imagine this is ultimately then fatal so not all cats will progress in

exactly this order and in this timeframe even so though it's clear that the

poisoning is both fast-acting and rapidly fatal but how is ethylene glycol

poisoning then diagnosed well it can be difficult there are test kits available

but they're not very accurate with some medications causing a false positive

results and they might actually not be sensitive enough in cats to pick up all

cases of poisoning so they can incorrectly come back as a negative

result in my experience this means that most practices will not even stock these

tests a blood test though to look at general body and organ health will often

be the first thing to be run in any cat showing some of the symptoms that we've

discussed as a result of antifreeze poisoning so these won't show specific

changes that only antifreeze can cause but instead they'll show changes that

are due to acute kidney failure now this can be due to different diseases of

which antifreeze poisoning is just one urine testing though is also very useful

and in some cases can confirm the diagnosis of ethylene glycol toxicity

and what your vet will be looking for here really is the presence of certain

crystals within the urine so these are only present after about three hours

post poisoning and once a certain amount of kidney damage has taken place urine

stops being produced and so crystals won't be seen in any urine that is

present within the bladder also some antifreeze products contain a dye that

can cause the urine to glow under UV light so that can be another thing to

look for and based on the test results your vet may wish to do other tests such

as abdominal x-rays or rock before reaching a working diagnosis of

antifreeze poisoning in your cat how then do we treat antifreeze poisoning in

cats if we suspect or if we know it has occurred well needless to say treatment

must begin as early as possible in it must be aggressive it if it has any

chance of succeeding this is not to poisoning where treatment can be carried

out to home on a tight budgets if it's to be attempted it must take place in

the veterinary clinic and it may prove to be pretty expensive so to start with

your cat may be made to vomit if there's any poison within the stomach that can

be removed but the issues to this and that it's only really useful in the

first hour of poisoning it shouldn't be done in any cats that are showing

nervous symptoms and cats are notoriously hard to actually makes vomit

in the first place the next step is to try and prevent the

formation of these toxic breakdown chemicals and this can be done with

repeated intravenous ethanol or alcohol injections there is also another drug

called from episode which can be used if available although in again in my

experience that's often not the case and then finally supportive care is

given to try and maintain hydration and support kidney function and control any

other symptoms of poisoning a cat is suffering from so the big question then

how much antifreeze will kill a cat well short answer is not a lot simply walking

through a puddle and then licking their fur clean is likely to mean that cat

ingest enough antifreeze to be fatal and this is not just because cats are so

small they are in fact also over three times more sensitive to ethylene glycol

toxicity than dogs and the toxic dose in cats have undiluted antifreeze is 1.4

mil per kilogram body weight and this means that a standard ten pound or four

and a half kilo cat only needs to drink a little over 6 mil of antifreeze to

develop fatal poisoning a teaspoon of ethylene glycol could kill your cat so

what is the prognosis for a cat that's been poisoned well it's not very good

ethylene glycol poisoning has a reported fatality rate of around 91 to 97 percent

and to be honest I'm surprised it's not higher if you know your cat has been

exposed to antifreeze as soon as it happens then you

to get them to your vet immediately and if that's the case the prognosis might

be actually good but the reality is is that most cases we only know something's

wrong when too much damage has already taken place for a cat to stand any

chance of survival and often it may well in fact be kinder to consider euthanasia

rather than treatment once the diagnosis is confirmed unless you're catching it

really early so prevention then is clearly better than cure for such a

terrible deadly poison and really the energy spent trying to prevent it is

worthwhile and it's not rocket science so the first step is to keep any

products containing ethylene glycol safely locked away you don't even want

to give your cat the chance to lick the outside of a container

disposing of empty containers to prevent this is also very important if possible

you could also switch to an antifreeze product containing propylene glycol

rather than ethylene glycol but unfortunately they're not always

available and where they are they often quite a bit more expensive than our

normal standard antifreeze products now some antifreeze products have a

bittering agent added to make them less appealing to drink but really it's

unclear just how effective this is and cats or dogs or even children and

especially when cats only need to consume such a small amount for a fatal

poison to occur you know by all means use these products but don't let them

change how careful you are in using them and storing them so the next thing to do

to prevent antifreeze poisoning in cats is just to take great care when you are

using any products try and avoid spills and if there are any accidents then make

sure the mess is cleaned up thoroughly straight away also keep your cats away

whenever you're handling these chemicals finally check your car radiator

regularly and immediately repair any leaks you don't want a puddle of liquid

forming under your car especially when it's cold in the woods of an engine may

actually be quite attractive to a cat so have you ever had a cat suffer from

antifreeze poisoning please leave your story in the comments down below just to

help other cat owners understand what it is like and how serious it can be and

how important prevention is also make sure you check out my other articles on

common cat poisons so you can do your best to protect your cat from anything

else that might be toxic to them and until next time i'm dr. alex from our

pets health because they're family

How Much Sleep You Really Need, According To Science | Inc. - Duration: 1:55.

there are so many high-profile leaders both in business and politics that still

talk about I only sleep four hours a night 98 to 99 percent human brains need

to sleep for seven to nine hours per night all of my clients seem to think

that they're in the 1 to 2 percent don't need to sleep that long and actually the

easiest way to know what your number is is whether you naturally wake up at the

same time at the weekend that you have to wake up during the week if you do

you're probably getting enough sleep if you need to lie in in the mornings at

the weekend or have a nap to catch up on sleep then you're probably not getting

enough during the week long-term if you skimp on your sleep and you're not

regularly getting the amount that you need then this is now causally related

to getting the symptoms of diseases like Alzheimer's and other dementia earlier

then you might have making sure that you get regular good quality and adequate

length of sleep we can prevent the symptoms from showing up earlier there

are a lot of famous politicians that often boasted of only sleeping four or

five hours a night and this is anecdotal but Margaret Thatcher and Ronald Reagan

were famous for saying this and they both ended up getting out Simas the

research does back up that not sleeping enough can lead to getting dementia

later in life but it really worries me that there are still leaders in business

and politics that talk about not sleeping for the right amount of time

and that that's a role model for people think of having enough sleep making your

brain really productive allowing you to be creative and entrepreneurial as the

real badge of honor

How Much Power Does Hungary Have? - Duration: 11:53.

Here on FTD facts

We always are learning about many different

cultures and places and

People from around the world and we've looked at countries as a whole and found out what is great about them and even dive deep

into understanding the militaries of these fascinating places

But today here on FTD facts we go into a very specific

Country and this is the country of Hungary to find out how powerful this country actually is in terms of military

Yo everybody. How's it going?

Welcome to FTD facts the channel where I talk about people cultures and places from all around the world

My name is Dave Walpole

and if it's your first time here well

You guys want to hit that subscribe button and that Bell?

Notification if you like learning about different places around the world because that's what I do here

Now today we are going to look at the military of Hungary because we just did a video on

Hungry itself and looked at some great facts of the country and here we generally look at a country and then we like to look

At its military and get a good idea of you know

the country as a whole on top of that guys before we getting started in this video if you guys

Love the Hungarian content and you want more of it either military or about the country itself?

Be sure to hit the like button because if I get over 5,000 likes, I generally do a part two

But let's get started. Shall we so getting right into it?

The Hungarian Defense Forces is the main body of Defense for Hungary and unlike other

militaries around the world which generally have three major divisions Hungary consists of ground forces and only air forces because unfortunately,

there is no Navy as it is a landlocked country and overall Hungary has had a military presence since may 16th of

1848 of course, it's had a major military before that. But this is when it was a major unified military

However for that I'm not going to go into history

Because what we're gonna do is we're gonna look at today's forces and get a general idea of how powerful it is

Over all hungary has a population of nine million eight hundred and fifty thousand eight hundred and forty-five people

approximately the available manpower within the country sits at four million six hundred and fifty thousand with

Approximately three million eight hundred thousand people that are classified as fit for service

but as for the total military personnel, well

It's kind of actually hard to really get a gauge of how many people are within this military because for its total military personnel

it's anywhere between forty six thousand seven hundred people to approximately eighty-five thousand soldiers and of this the act of

personality stin

2016 stated that there was twenty nine thousand seven hundred soldiers

But they stated that at that time they had plans to grow it to thirty one thousand

but i'm not sure if they've done that as of

2018 at the time of recording this video, of course in 2013. It was stated that there was approximately

17,000 people in reserves, but as of a 2018 estimate it states that there's approximately

54,000 so there you can see it's kind of a hard thing for us to tell how much the total military

Personnel is within this country

And as of today the main commander in chief of this military is the country's president, which is Janos Ader

I also should mention that when it comes to Hungary in

2016 under the Global Peace Index

It was nominated 19 of 63 countries for the award for most peaceful countries on earth

Now you may wonder is there conscription within the country of Hungary?

Conscription has actually been established within this country as of 1939

And of course, it still goes today, but only during war times during peacetime

Everything is on a volunteer basis as well for the age of the military

The youngest one can be is 18 to join the military as well

Women are allowed to be part of all forms and ranks of the military and they make up about approximately 19% of the total

army in 2010 in which women had been granted combat assignments in

1996 so now that we've got a little bit of the understanding of the military

Let's take a look into the actual numbers of this military

So let's go straight up into the air and take a look at the Air Force now currently in the country

It has twelve Air Force locations. One of them is a major helicopter base and one is a fighter base

The rest are radar sites air defense sites or strictly air command in Hungary

They have a total air strength of 35 units and when it comes to fighters or attack fighters

They have approximately 14 of them

however

It's really hard to gauge whether or not this number 14 for fighters is actually true because I had read somewhere that in

2015 Hungary extended a lease program with Sweden for 14 fighters for another 10 years and of these 12 of them were

Single-seat Griffins and two others were the dual Cedars. However, I also read that in 2001

They actually purchased and bought 14 of these fighters

So it's kind of hard to say if whether or not they have 14 least and 14

You know actually owned or if it's just 14 in total

however, when it comes to transports the country has approximately 19 the biggest of these is the antonov

an-26 and the Airbus

a319, of course

They have four trainers for the Air Force and a total helicopter strength of approximately

43 and of these helicopters eight of them are classified as attack helicopters in which they use the mill me

24 and for the country

They stated that they had 20 of the eurocopter ec

145 on order or are currently already delivered now, of course, we're gonna go down to the ground forces

But before I do I should mention that

Before 1991 the military of this country was heavily supported by the Soviet Union

However, after the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991, of course they had to do a lot of cutbacks

They sold a lot of Tanks and closed a lot of air bases and ground bases as well

And although their forces may be cut down believe it or not. It still does have quite a bit because in total they have approximately

164 combat tanks in which they use the t-72 as their main battle tank

Of course only 32 to 34 of these are in use with the rest of them being in reserve as well

they do have a bunch other than which they only use for target practice and

unfortunately for these 272 s I'm not sure how many if any of these are the upgraded versions with the

125 millimeter cannon as for armored fighting vehicles they have approximately

1123 with the btr-80 being there armored Fighting Vehicle

They are actually the third largest operator of this vehicle in the entire world. Currently they state they have about 600 of them with about

598 of them being modernized keep in mind there is also a lot of them that are classified as unlisted

They may actually have more because an unlisted amount are designed for medical use and of course nuclear biological and chemical missions

Further self-propelled artillery hungary has zero

But they do have 300 towed artillery in which they use the 152 millimeter m1

9:55 howitzer in which they have 300 of those and it finish it off for their ground units

They have approximately 65 rocket projectors now. Like I said, the country really doesn't have any form of Navy

They don't have any major crafts like, you know aircraft carriers

They don't have cruisers destroyers or Corvettes or anything of that nature

however, the country does state that they do have three minesweepers that they use in rivers and they may actually also have some

Patrol boats that the army uses as well as for rifles

the main armament of this country are the a

K63 which have been modernized to the de and M F versions they also from time to time

We'll use the m4 but for machine guns

They use the American

M249 saw and the PKM now here is a very important question now because this country was at one point part of the Soviet Union

Does hungry have any nukes?

Well, the answer is no as a matter of fact, hungary has also been very Pro on anti nuclear

Use and has condemned countries like North Korea from using them in the first place as well

they are very Pro on nuclear disarmament and they have gone to the extent to ban the production of

Fissionable material within the country as well. They've also been a major contributor to the nuclear non-proliferation treaty

Which they signed in 1970 as well in 2013

They also signed the Arms Trade Treaty which regulates the international trade of conventional weapons and again ratified it in

2014 and with all that information we may think that Hungary is a smaller country in numbers

but the one thing we should mention is that it does have a lot of friends because

Firstly it's been a member of NATO since March 12th of 1999

Which actually makes it a very powerful ally with 28 other countries, that's a good thing and also as of May 1st

2004 it increased its alliances with other European countries by joining the European Union and speaking of money

Let's talk about the budget of this particular army in

2017 the budget for the hungary defense sat at approximately

350 billion HUF which in turn was approximately 1.2 1 billion u.s

Dollars which made the budget of the defense sit at 0.9 four percent of the GDP of the entire country

Which was actually far below the recommended NATO requirement of 2 percent thing is although that might seem pretty low

They plan to increase that to 1.4 percent by

2022 and as for today Hungary has about 700 soldiers deployed around the world as well

They have been a major part of operations in Afghanistan Bosnia the Congo

Cyprus Egypt, Georgia Kosovo, Lebanon Mally Somalia, and of course Western Sahara

Which means that Hungary is influencing peace, not just within its own country, but multiple countries around the world

So there you have it guys that is a look at the defense forces of Hungary and how powerful this country actually is

What are your thoughts on this military and would you in fact join it yourself?

But other than that guys, my name is Dave WAP

And I just want to thank you guys for all tuning in and learning especially my reoccurring viewers, you know

you guys are great to

expand your mind and really learn about many different places around the world whether it be

military or just the countries itself

Now that being said if you guys want more topics and videos around Hungarian content

Well, then you gotta hit those like buttons because like I said, we get over 5,000 or whatever

We just got a lot of likes then

I know you guys want more and that's great also down there not down there, but down there in the description box

And of course, there's my Instagram if you guys want to reach out to me

Feel free to give me a follow send me a message and send me some recommendations for future videos to do

but either way

This is you and me learning about the great military power of Hungary and how powerful this country actually is

Surely maybe a smaller military but Hungarian owes that diplomacy and striving for peace is a quest that many other countries

Strive for as well for the soldiers in the group of the Hungarian Defence Force may know how to fight

But they remind us that although you may be strong. You are always stronger with the connections around the world

Thanks for watching, alright, so here's some other videos that you should check out

Did you miss our first video talking about Hungary itself on top of that?

I got a nice European playlist of other European countries that you might want to check out

Feel free to take a look at that. Other than that

We got tons of military videos for you guys to look into be sure to look for those and on top of that

We'll see in the next one. Bye

adults in Australia are likely

not to get enough sleep?

The average person gets 7 hours of sleep.

But about 12% of Australians >sleep for less than 5.5 hours

and 8% sleep for over 9 hours.

Those who sleep for less than 5.5 hours

are likely to see the impact on their
