How to Make a Waldorf Fruit Salad

Cube 3 to 5 apples

1/4 cup raisins

1/4 cup mayonnaise

1 dollop sour cream

Add marshmallows (mini marshmallows are preferable)

1/2 cup crushed walnuts

Hi friends! Welcome to my cooking show "Parul Ka Zaika"

Today I'm going to prepare a Ganesh Chaturthi special and a traditional Maharashtrian recipe - Steam Modak

Lets see the ingredients required to make Steam Modak

150 grams of fresh grounded coconut

100 grams of jaggery

1 teaspoon of poppy seeds

8-10 finely chopped cashew nuts

15-20 raisins

1/2 teaspoon of cardamom powder

1 teaspoon of clarified butter

1 bowl of rice flour

Pinch of salt

1 bowl of water

To start with put some water in a hollow pan

Add salt and clarified butter and let it come to a boil

Add rice flour and mix well

Once mixed well put off the flame and cover the pan for 5 minutes

After 5 minutes of steam effect remove the mixed rice flour in a bowl

Next rub some clarified butter on the palms

Knead the rice flour for 3-4 minutes and make a soft and elastic dough and cover the bowl

Next put some clarified butter in a non-stick pan and add jaggery and let it melt

Add to it grounded coconut and mix well

Further add poppy seeds, raisins, cashews and cardamom powder. Cook for 2 minutes and prepare the stuffing.

After the stuffing is ready remove it in a bowl and let it cool down

Again rub some clarified butter on the palms

Take some dough. Roll it and make a ball. Flatten it in between your palms.

With the help of your thumb and fingers make a bowl like shape of the flatenned dough

Fill the stuffing in the bowl shaped flatenned dough

Close and stick the round flatenned dough from all sides and make a modak like shape from top by stretching the dough slightly

Next with the help of the back part of a spoon make slits in intervals on the modak

Similarly make modaks from dough and stuffing in the same way

Once all modaks are ready put a banana leaf in a steamer

And place the prepared modaks on the banana leaf, cover the pan and let it steam for 10 minutes

After 10 minutes the modaks will be ready to serve
