Není to moje osobní záležitost," řekl. I'm pleased to report that President Trump has extended an official invitation to Prime Minister @AndrejBabis to visit Washington on March 7 as a symbol of our strong bilateral relationship

A White House announcement is forthcoming soon. @strakovka — Ambassador King (@USAmbPrague) 20

Trump encourages student suing the Washington Post over Covington coverage: 'Go get them Nick. Fake News!'

President Trump egged on a student a suing the Washington Post for its coverage of a confrontation in Washington with a Native American man that the teen says distorted reality.

Covington Catholic student Nick Sandmann, 16, is suing the Washington Post for defamation. He claims the newspaper falsely accused him of racist acts and instigating a face-off with a Native American activist in the January incident.

Trump gave Sandmann is his backing on Wednesday morning after watching a segment on the lawsuit, and other inaccurate media stories, on 'Fox & Friends. The president quoted Sandmann's suit and said, 'Go get them Nick.

In a another tweet, Trump, who routinely harangues the Post and other news outlets he believes are biased, predicted the end of the media as an industry in a half-decade.

Trump often calls news outlets with which he has disputes 'fake news' and the 'enemy of the people' when he's particularly outraged.

The Washington Post is a favorite target of Trump's. The billionaire president has a beef with the paper's owner, Bezos, who happens to be significantly wealthier than him.

In a weekend tweet Trump repeated his claim that the media is not only 'rigged and corrupt' but the true 'enemy' of the American public.

Tweeting on Wednesday amid an winter snow storm, he said: 'The Press has never been more dishonest than it is today. Stories are written that have absolutely no basis in fact.

The writers don't even call asking for verification. They are totally out of control. Sadly, I kept many of them in business. In six years, they all go BUST!'.

Later in the morning he slammed another paper, The New York Times, for a report it ran on his conversations with recently departed acting Attorney General Matt Whitaker.

The paper claimed that Trump asked Whitaker to interfere in the federal case against Michael Cohen, a former fixer for him who flipped to receive a reduced jail sentence.

Trump says Cohen is making stories up to fulfill his end of the bargain.

Raging about the report on Twitter, which he'd called 'fake' to reporters the day before, Trump said, 'The New York Times reporting is false. They are a true ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE!'.

Possibly taking a page out of the litigious president's book, Sandmann is suing the Post over its reporting on his confrontation on the National Mall with a Native American elder.

A viral video of the incident suggested that Sandmann was blocking the man's path, but subsequent video and testimony from Covington students called initial reporting into dispute.

The lawsuit, filed on Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Kentucky seeks $250 million in damages, the amount that Amazon founder Jeff Bezos paid for the Post in 2013.

The lawsuit claims that the newspaper 'wrongfully targeted and bullied' the teen to advance its bias against President Donald Trump because Sandmann is a white Catholic who wore a Make America Great Again souvenir cap on a school field trip to the March for Life pro-life rally in Washington, D.C.

The Washington Post's Vice President for Communications Kristine Coratti Kelly said: 'We are reviewing a copy of the lawsuit and we plan to mount a vigorous defense.

In a photo that went viral from the incident, Sandmann is seen standing face to face with Native American activist Nathan Phillips. Sandmann stares smiling at him while Phillips sings and plays his drum.

The incident sparked outrage on social media. In early articles, the Post reported that the schoolboys 'surrounded' and 'taunted' 64-year-old Phillips. The newspaper claimed that a 'smirking' Sandmann had stood in Phillip's path, blocking him from moving.

More extensive video of the events told a radically different story, showing the boys were subjected to racist abuse by a group of Black Hebrew Israelites, before Phillips waded into the group of students and banged his drum directly in Sandmann's face.

In a statement, Sandmann's Atlanta-based lawyer, Lin Wood, said additional similar lawsuits would be filed against other parties in the weeks ahead.

A private investigation firm retained by Covington Diocese in Park Hills, Kentucky, found in a report released last week no evidence the teenagers provoked a confrontation.

The students were met at the Lincoln Memorial by offensive statements from members of the Black Hebrew Israelites, the report said.

The investigation also determined that the students did not direct any racist or offensive comments toward Phillips although several performed a 'tomahawk chop' to the beat of his drum.

Phillips claimed in a separate video that he heard the students chanting 'build that wall,' during the encounter, a reference to Trump's pledge to build a barrier along the U.S.

The investigators said they found no evidence of such a chant and that Phillips did not respond to multiple attempts to contact him.

In a letter to parents this week, Covington Bishop Roger Foys said the students 'were placed in a situation that was at once bizarre and even threatening'.

'The immediate world-wide reaction to the initial video led almost everyone to believe that our students had initiated the incident and the perception of those few minutes of video became reality,' the bishop wrote.

Students told investigators that they felt Phillips was coming into their group to join their own cheers, which were meant to drown out insults from the Black Hebrew Israelites.

They claimed that they were confused but did not feel threatened by Phillips, the report said.

'We found no evidence of racist statements to Mr Phillips or members of his group,' the report said. 'Some students performed a "tomahawk chop" to the beat of Mr Phillips' drumming and some joined in Mr Phillips' chant.'.

The investigators also reviewed related videos, including one made the same day in which a young person says: 'It's not rape if you enjoy it. The investigators say they determined that person was not a Covington Catholic student.

Vladimir Putins comments come less than one month after the United States and Russia shredded a historic nuclear arms agreement

February 20, 2019

Vladimir Putin on Wednesday vowed to target American and European decision making centres with nuclear arms if intermediate range warheads are located on the continent.

The Russian presidents stark comments came during his annual state of the nation address. They mark a serious escalation in rhetoric between Russia and the United States since both sides vowed to quit a Soviet era arms control treaty earlier this month.

If the US deploys missiles previously banned under the treaty, Mr Putin said on Thursday that Russia would have no choice by to take reciprocal and asymmetric measures.

Russia will be forced to create and deploy types of weapons which can be used not only in respect of those territories from which the direct threat to us originates but also in respect of those territories where the centres of decision making are located, Mr Putin said to applause.

Speaking in front of an assembly of Russias political elite, Mr Putin warned the US leadership should take stock of the range and speed of our prospective weapons before taking steps that might threaten Russia.

After months of mounting rhetoric, the United States announced this month it was finally quitting the Intermediate Nuclear Forces Treaty, the only Soviet era arms control agreement still intact today. The Trump administration said the move was over Russian violations. Vladimir Putin, who denies the allegations, responded by telling foreign and defence officials that Russia was also quitting its obligations under the treaty.

Russia worries that the dissolution of the agreement, which banned building, testing and deploying land based cruise and ballistic missiles with a range of between 500 to 5,500 kilometres, will see the United States bolster its military presence near Russias borders in Europe.

Alongside Mr Putins sabre rattling rhetoric on Wednesday however, he also offered conciliatory words, saying he wanted more friendly relations with the United States and that he was open to future talks with Washington on arms control.

We have no interest in confrontation and we dont want one, least of all with such a global power as the United States. But it appears our partners havent noticed how quickly the world is changing, and where it is heading. They continue their destructive and plainly mistaken policy.

Although Wednesdays address which was broadcast live on national television was dominated at the start by Mr Putins proposals for improving the economy and addressing Russias demographic crisis, the president also said that Russia was preparing to deploy a new hypersonic missile as part of its naval force.

Coming amid broader efforts to modernise the Russian military, Mr Putin said the Zircon missile will have a speed of nine times of the speed of sound with a range of 1,000 kilometres.

This is not the first time hes made strong warnings of nuclear action in his annual speech.

The Russian President Putin famously kicked off last his state of the nation address last year with an animated video of new Russian nuclear missiles hitting Florida. Russia still has the greatest nuclear potential in the world, Putin said. But nobody listened to us.

Listen now, he warned.

DNA leads to arrest in Washington cold case murder of young couple Fox News

A 55 year old man has been arrested in a 31 year old cold case involving a young couple murdered in Washington state.

Detectives from the Snohomish County and Skagit County Sheriffs Offices arrested William Talbott for the November 1987 murders of 20 year old Jay Cook and 18 year old Tanya Van Cuylenborg, the Skagit County Sheriffs Office said Thursday.

He was ordered held on dollar 2 million bond after a court appearance Friday,

We never gave up hope that we would find Jay and Tanyas killer," Snohomish County Sheriff Ty Trenary said Friday. Yesterdays arrest shows how powerful it can be to combine new DNA technology with the relentless determination of detectives."

Investigators tapped a public genealogy website to match crime scene DNA. The analysis was performed by Parabon, a Virginia company.

The sheriffs office said Talbott is the first murder suspect to be arrested using results from Parabons genetic genealogy service, which became generally available less than two weeks ago. A digital file containing DNA genotype data derived from evidence at the crime scene was uploaded to GEDMatch, a public genetic genealogy website, and promising matches were found for two of the suspects relatives, the sheriffs office said.

Authorities used GEDMatch to in the Northern Californias notorious Golden State Killer" case. From 1976 to 1986, the Golden State Killer murdered 12 people, raped 45 others, and burglarized more than 100 homes.

Van Cuylenborg and Cook left their Saanich, British Columbia, homes on Nov. 18, 1987, for an overnight trip to Seattle. They were driving a brown 1977 Ford van to buy furnace parts for Cook andapos;s family business.

When they failed to return home, their families reported them missing.

On Nov. 24 of that year, a man walking on an isolated road south of Bellingham, Washington, discovered Van Cuylenborg andapos;s body. She had been sexually assaulted, bound with plastic ties and shot in the head, investigators said.

Cook andapos;s battered body turned up the next day about two miles south of Monroe, Washington. The two locations where the bodies were found are about 75 miles apart.

Police were able to obtain DNA from the van.

In April, police released composite sketches of the killer that Parabon created based on the the DNA evidence.

John Van Cuylenborg told a radio talk show that he almost gave up hope his sisters killer would be found, in Vancouver reported.

After a while you have to sort of adjust to the fact that it seems as though the case is never going to be solved, and that probably would be true if it wasnt for these advancements in DNA techniques," he said.

Putin threatens Russia will target U.S. with advanced weapon if Washington deploys new missiles in E

Published: Feb 20, 2019 12:52 p.m. ET

In state of the nation address, Putin also promises Russians hell boost welfare payments, improve the education and health care systems, and remove toxic dumps from cities

MOSCOW AP — Russian President Vladimir Putin sternly warned the United States against deploying new missiles in Europe, saying Wednesday that Russia will retaliate by fielding new weapons that will take just as little time to reach their targets.

While the Russian leader didnt say what specific new weapons Moscow could deploy, his statement further raised the ante in tense relations with Washington.

Speaking in his state of the nation address, Putin charged that the U.S. has abandoned a key arms control pact to free up its hands to build new missiles and tried to shift the blame for the move to Russia.

Our American partners should have honestly said it instead of making unfounded accusations against Russia to justify their withdrawal from the treaty, Putin said.

The U.S. has accused Russia of breaching the 1987 Intermediate Range Nuclear Forces treaty by deploying a cruise missile that violates its limits — the accusations Moscow has rejected.

The INF treaty banned production, testing and deployment of land based cruise and ballistic missiles with a range of 500 to 5,500 kilometers 310 to 3,410 miles .

The intermediate range weapons were seen as particularly destabilizing as they take shorter time to reach their targets compared to the intercontinental ballistic missiles. That would leave practically no time for decision makers, raising the likelihood of a global nuclear conflict over a false launch warning.

Putin reaffirmed that Russia will not be the first to deploy new intermediate range missiles but warned of a quick retaliation if the U.S. puts such weapons in Europe.

They will only take 10 12 minutes to reach Moscow, he said. Its a very serious threat to us, and we will have to respond.

He didnt directly mention the U.S., but noted that the Russian response will be asymmetrical and involve new weapons will reach the enemys decision making centers just as quickly.

Russia will be forced to create and deploy new types of weapons that could be used not only against the territories where a direct threat to us comes from, but also against the territories where decision making centers directing the use of missile systems threatening us are located, he said. The capability of such weapons, including the time to reach those centers, will be equivalent to the threats against Russia.

The president didnt specify which of the prospective Russian weapons will do the job, but he reported a quick progress on an array of new weapons presented a year ago.

The Russian leader said the first batch of Avangard hypersonic glide vehicles will be deployed this year. Putin said the development of a vehicle that the military said is capable of flying 27 times faster than the speed of sound was a technological achievement comparable to the 1957 Soviet launch of the first satellite.

He added that the tests of the new Sarmat heavy intercontinental ballistic missile, the Burevestnik nuclear powered cruise missile and the Poseidon nuclear powered underwater drone have been progressing successfully.

Putin said the first submarine equipped to carry the Poseidon will be commissioned later this year. Shortly after Putins speech, the Defense Ministry released a brief video showing a test of the Poseidon, which can target coastal areas with a heavy nuclear weapon, causing a devastating tsunami wave.

Putin also announced the coming deployment of the new Zircon hypersonic missile for the Russian navy, saying its capable of flying at nine times the speed of sound and will have a range of 1,000 kilometers 620 miles .

He said the Zircon program will not be too costly as the missile has been designed to equip Russias existing surface ships and submarines.

Putin added that the military will deploy more Kinzhal airborne hypersonic missiles, which entered service last year. The Defense Ministry said Wednesday the Kinzhal has been successfully tested at a range exceeding 1,000 kilometers more than 620 miles against both sea and land targets.

Putin urged U.S. officials to take into account the range and speed of our prospective weapons before making decisions that will threaten Russia.

We are only asking about one thing: Do the count first before making decisions that could create new serious threats against our country and would trigger retaliatory measures, he said.

While issuing a tough warning to the U.S., Putin also claimed that Russia still wants friendly relations with Washington and remains open for arms control talks.

We dont want confrontation, particularly with such a global power as the U.S., he said.

At the same time, he criticized what he described as destructive U.S. policy of targeting Russia with sanctions.

Russias relations with the U.S. have sunk to post Cold War lows over Russias 2014 annexation of Ukraines Crimean Peninsula, its support for the Syrian government in the war in Syria and the allegations of Russian meddling in the 2016 U.S. presidential election.

The menacing talk about new weapons and the tough warnings aimed at the U.S. followed a speech that mostly focused on domestic issues.

Putin promised Russians that he would raise welfare payments, improve education and the struggling health care system and remove toxic dump sites from cities. Similar goals have been set before, but the progress has been slow as Russia has been buffeted by economic shocks caused by a drop in oil prices and Western sanctions.

Putin vows to target USA if Washington deploys missiles in Europe IOL News

 / 20 February 2019, 1:36pm / Polina Nikolskaya and Vladimir Soldatkin

Moscow Russia will respond to any US deployment of short or intermediate range nuclear weapons in Europe by targeting not only the countries where they are stationedbut the United States itself, President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday.

In his toughest remarks yet on a potential new arms race, Putin said Russia was not seeking confrontation and would not take the first step to deploy missiles in response to Washingtons decision this month to quit a landmark Cold War era arms control treaty.

But he said that Russias reaction to any deployment would be resolute and that US policy makers, some of whom he said were obsessed with US exceptionalism, should calculate the risks before taking any steps.

Its their right to think how they want. But can they count? Im sure they can. Let them count the speed and the range of the weapons systems we are developing, Putin told Russias political elite to strong applause.

Russia will be forced to create and deploy types of weapons which can be used not only in respect of those territories from which the direct threat to us originates, but also in respect of those territories where the centres of decision making are located, he said.

MISSILES IN EUROPE

Alleging Russian violations, Washington said this month it was suspending its obligations under the 1987 Intermediate range Nuclear Forces Treaty INF and starting the process of quitting it, untying its hands to develop new missiles.

The pact banned either side from stationing short and intermediate range, land based missiles in Europe and its demise raises the prospect of a new arms race between Washington and Moscow, which denies flouting the treaty.

Russia denies violating the treaty. Putin responded to the US move by saying Russia would mirror the US moves by suspending its own obligations and quitting the pact.

But Putin, who has sometimes used bellicose rhetoric to talk up Russias standoff with the West and to rally Russians round the flag, did not up the ante.

He did not announce new missile deployments, said money for new systems must come from existing budget funds and declared that Moscow would not deploy new land based missiles in Europe or elsewhere unless Washington did so first.

On Wednesday, he made clear however that he was ready, reluctantly, to escalate if the United States escalated and that Russia was continuing to actively develop weapons and missile systems to ensure it was well prepared for such an eventuality.

He said any US move to place new missiles in Europe would leave Moscow with no choice but to respond because it would drastically cut the time it took US missiles to reach Russia, something that would pose a direct threat.

He said Russia wanted good ties with the United States, but was ready with its defensive response if necessary.

We know how to do this and we will implement these plans immediately, as soon as the corresponding threats to us become a reality.
