News on Youtube Jan 31 2018

Hi!

My name is Zdenka and in today's video, I will help you answer your question "how

to become a model"?

You will find out what you need to get started, recognize your market and category, how much

do you need to spend on your first photos and how to approach an agency.

And today I will also share my story how I started as a model.

Now you are all wondering who is that woman I am listening to?

My full name is Zdenka Darula and I work as a professional photographer.

I am a former model with 16 years of experience.

I was represented by agencies such as Velocci, Next and Elmer Olsen.

I also briefly worked as a modeling and talent agent in Toronto.

Now that you heard my brief introduction, let's focus on you and making your dream

of becoming a reality.

Step 1.

- Knowing who you are!

Knowing who you are will lead you on your way of becoming a model.

Are you tall?

Are you petite?

Are you skinny, or are you curvy?

Are you more of a fitness model, commercial model, or fashion model?

You need to have an honest look at yourself.

There are many modeling categories such as editorial, fashion, commercial, lifestyle,

catalogue, runway, showroom, beauty, fitness, plus size, I don't know what else, and film

& TV and promotional modeling.

Most of the time you hear that you need to be the height you know 5'9" for women

and 6'0 for men.

That only applies to runway and high-fashion.

There is tremendous amount of work for the rest which doesn't meet the requirements

or height.

So knowing myself, you know I am 5'9" tall, I am quite voluptuous, you know I have

big chest and big hips, that means I am probably very good for lingerie, for swimsuit, perhaps

for bridal.

I don't think I might be a very good fit for high fashion.

And knowing who you are will help you decide what agencies you are going to contact.

There are many agencies out there.

Some are high fashion agencies, other concentrate on commercial and TV work.

Some agencies represent petite models, others plus size, and you know older models or lifestyle

models.

So do you know who you are?

Step 2.

- Measurements

Now grab a piece of paper, pencil and measuring tape.

It's time to find out the truth and I know exactly what I am talking about.

As a photographer, I met so many different models.

Many times has happened that I received their information their comp card or they filled

out my information sheet and their sizes and ages exactly didn't match.

For example, I had clearly 40 years old model coming through the door and I looked at her

information sheet and there was age 31.

So the same happens quite frequently with measurements.

You know it is not about "oh my I put on little bit of weight, and you know I am going

to loose it later."

It's actually something else.

To tell you the truth as soon as you meet your agent which will be representing you,

they will for sure measure you and they will compare those measurements with whatever you

put down on the paper.

And you know when you meet your agent for the very first time, you want to create a

great relationship right from the beginning.

Problem with that is that once you land a job, where the client is going to be preparing

outfits for you, they might not fit and there goes the biggest embarrassment for you and

the agent.

And to be perfectly honest, I think I've done it in the past and yeah, I was kind of

embarrassing so don't do it.

All right, so, what you need to put down is your age, your height, your chest size, your

waist size , your hips size, your inseam, shoes size, your hair color and eye color.

So now, that we have those numbers, let's move on….

Step number 3.

- Photos

And this is the big one.

Lots of people approach me and they ask me how much money we should be spending and what

type of photos we need to get started in modeling.

If you are brand new and you've never done this before, my answer would be: you don't

need much to get started.

All you really need is a perfect headshot, you need a clear bodyshot and I would say

you also need a profile.

Your photos should be very simple, you should be wearing very little makeup, you should

be wearing very simple wardrobe which shows your body very clearly.

And maybe all you need is just a friend who can help you, you know take some very basic

photos in natural light with his camera or her camera, and it just be a face, body and

profile.

Or if you are thinking about modeling as a very serious career and you want to make it

a career I would probably approach a professional photographer such as myself, this is what

I do right?

So why I say that?

You know there are many people just like you, perhaps with the similar look or they are

similar type which are trying to also to become a model and they are your competition.

And you know, it's a business you are basically building your business, your are building

your brand.

So when I have somebody new coming through my door and my suggestion would be don't go

with the big package, all you need to do is just get a small package you need only few

photos to get started.

And what I mean by don't go with a package is you don't know how your agent will see

you and what category you will be placed.

So if you are doing a big photoshoot it might be a waste of money in the future, because

they might have completely different plan.

So for example, you might be a lifestyle type of model and you come to the agency with high

fashion photos the photos will land you the agency but then the photos will not land a

lifestyle shoot.

So, go small… and small shoots like that can be somewhere from $200 - 400, 500 dollars

depending on photographer and what is included in the package.

I also strongly suggest a professional makeup artist because they are trained for camera.

They know their contouring and they will help you to make your face more photogenic, I would

say to make your face more camera friendly.

If you do your own makeup and you don't know the tricks, it might actually do the

opposite, it might hurt you.

And you know looking back all those years, how did I get my first modeling photos?

Well I am from Czech Republic originally, I am from very tiny village so local photographer

you know he helped me out and he took some snapshots of me.

I didn't have a professional makeup artist at that time because there were just none

in that area so I did my own makeup and you know the photos looked you know very basic.

Step 4.

- Contacting the Agency

Let's just say there are few ways you can work as a model.

You can do freelancing or you can work with an agency, or you can do both.

If you are very new and starting out, I strongly suggest to go with an agent.

Finding the agency should do your research online depending on where you live.

For example, I am from Toronto, so I type in google "toronto modeling agencies"

and I would find out for example very nice site I think it was fashion incubater where

there was a list of Toronto modeling agencies, there were their phone number, address and

email address.

And I will share the list of what I found on google.

there are some amazing lists of modeling agencies.

There are some international and there are some Toronto and I will be sharing those links

in the description of this video below.

So once you find the list of the agencies, you should visit their website, find out what

type of agency they are and what type of models and talent they represent.

And here you are going to apply step 1 which is knowing who you are.

So if you are very tall, you might want to try to land yourself into high fashion agency.

And if you are petite and you are maybe curvy and you find another agency which represent

that kind of type of model and talent, that is where you need to go.

Now, biggest mistake most of the beginners make is to make and appointment with only

1 agency.

Now, you need to see at least 5 different agencies to get the right one.

It is also very time sensitive, so you have to decide as soon as you can so the best is

to see all agencies in 1 or 2 days…maximum 1 week.

Don't plan on seeing 1 agency this week and maybe another agency the next week.

It is not going to happen.

If you get an offer and you wait for too long, someone else who might be the same type as

you or might look like you, might actually take your spot.

And it did happen to me before.

Now, How to contact the agency?

Very simply, you make a phone call or send an email.

I am just joking.

It's little bit more then that.

Actually, you want make the first impression on the agents, you want to do it right.

You will fill out their form on their website, you will send them email or you simple make

them a phone call and ask them when their open call is.

Some of the agencies usually hold their open call 2x a week, they are usually at the very

same time as the other agencies so you can see all the agencies at the same time or on

the same day.

Step 5.

What to wear and what to bring?

Agents prefer simple tight fitting clothing where they can see your body very well.

I usually was wearing black tight or black short skirt with black top or tight you know

short dress and high heels.

When it comes to make up, no makeup or very little makeup is the best.

So you should bring your measurements, your photos printed and also bring USB or flash

card with the same photos in digital high resolution format.

I would also suggest bringing bikini as they might want to take a polaroid just wearing

those.

And now I can tell you my story how I started modeling.

There were actually 2 times I started.

Once was back home in Czech republic.

I was 16 years old and I sent some of my photos to a beauty contest where I did really well.

There was one photographer, actually famous photographer at that time, his name was Jadran

Setlik, he was one of the judges, he was also picking most photogenic girl which happened

to be me and that's how it all started.

He was the person who discovered me and pushed me through.

Second time I had to start all over again was when I moved to Canada.

Because coming from European market, Canadian market is completely different.

So when I brought my portfolio and I went to see the agency, they were kind of .... ditch

those photos girl, you are not gonna to get any work with those.

Which pretty much means I had to start all over I had to go from the agency to the agency.

So that is it for today's video how to become a model and I would love to hear from you

how you are becoming a model or how you became a model so please don't be shy and comment

What Are The 7 Chakras And Their Meanings? | How Many Chakras Are There & Who Cares? - Duration: 5:56.

David: In this video we're going to teach you about the 7 Chakras.

Heather: Plus stay to the end for a secret weapon to discover your personal Chakra identity.

I'm Heather.

David: And I'm David.

Heather: From Zen Rose Garden.

David: Dot com.

Heather: Yes.

David: Helping people create- Heather: Badass lives.

What is a Chakra?

David: So a Chakra is basically a vortex, a spinning wheel of energy that is used to

draw energy in and release energy out.

Heather: From your body.

David: From your body.

Heather: From the body.

David: From the body.

Heather: The Chakra is no longer a theoretical thing, there are actually imaging systems

that can show you these energy centers in your body.

David: There are thousands of Chakras.

The main seven that we're gonna cover have to do with seven different parts of your life,

that many.

Heather: Let's get into it.

David: Into the Chakras.

Heather: Yes.

The first Chakra is your Root Chakra which is located at the base of your spine.

The color is red and the purpose in your life is stability, foundation, grounding, root

sexuality, primal protection.

David: And letting your stuff go.

Heather: Yes.

David: Then we go onto the Sacral Chakra.

The Sacral Chakra is located around about your belly button, about a couple inches below.

Its color is orange and it has to do with the passion in life, your creative expression

and sensuality and sexuality in life.

Heather: It's really important that this Chakra is activated if you are a dancer or a creative

person or somebody that's very passionate about what they do, it's good to have it open.

David: Yes.

Heather: The next Chakra is the Solar Plexus Chakra and as the name states it is located

right about here where your Solar Plexus is.

The color is yellow and the purpose in your life is about power, it's about boundaries,

it's about feeling safe in your skin, it's about achievement, it's about mental capacity

even though it's not in your mind it's here.

David: This is a great Chakra for CEOs or any entrepreneurial type people.

Heather: Yes.

David: Next we come to the Heart Chakra which is located where?

About the heart.

The color is green and this has to do with your emotion.

A lot of emotions, a lot of relationships, a lot of love for the world, love for yourself

that would be the Heart Chakra.

Heather: Compassion.

David: Definitely.

Heather: And all the mushy, mushy stuff.

The fifth Chakra is located in your throat and guess what?

It's called the Throat Chakra.

Its color is traditionally turquoise, its purpose is you guessed it, speaking, singing,

expression, creative expression, writing, all those kinds of things.

David: This is great for singers or artists of any kind.

Next we come to the Third Eye Chakra which is located about your third eye which is also

called the Brow Chakra.

Heather: It's in the middle of your forehead.

David: Middle of your forehead.

This one is indigo and basically has to do with your intuition, your gut instincts even

though it's not your gut.

Heather: They all kind of work together.

David: Yeah, so it has to do with psychic abilities, it has to do with all that kind

of mystical awesomeness.

Heather: It also has to do with abstract thought.

Someone that is a philosopher might have a very active third eye.

The Third Eye is not just for mystical wooji people it's for anybody who's like genius

status.

David: Yep, Einstein would be very Third Eye.

Heather: I think everybody's genius status but ... The seventh Chakra is the Crown Chakra

and it is on top of your head.

The color is traditionally white or violet and its purpose is connection to the bigger

picture, connection to spirit.

David: You can call it God, angels, the universe, whatever higher essence of everything that

created the everything that would be the connection through the Crown.

Heather: That's what the Crown is all about.

David: Now it's time for the bonus tip.

Heather: Bonus tip.

David: Now we're gonna tell you a little bit about how Chakras spin.

Heather: Chakras spin right and they spin left.

The word Chakra means wheel of light and just like a wheel the Chakra spins, it spins right

and it spins left.

One way it's releasing energy and another way it's bringing energy in.

The Chakras that are in the body spin this way and this way, but the unique thing about

the Crown Chakra and the Root Chakra is that they spin up and down.

Heather: The Crown Chakra spins this way and the Root Chakra also spins this way facing

down.

The Crown Chakra is pulling in energy from the source, the sun, the universe, Root Chakra

is pulling in energy from the Earth.

You get energy from the source and energy from the Earth and they just kind of like

bring it all in.

Supernova Energy.

David: You just learned the basics to understanding Chakras.

Heather: Now it's time for that secret weapon.

David: We created a special quiz to figure out which celebrity Chakra you are.

Take the quiz to find out.

Heather: Click the link in the description to get it.

David: Go get it.

Heather: It's truth bomb time.

David: Truth bomb time.

How To Make Your Tax Refund Last Forever - Duration: 7:16.

Yes

The good old tax refund it's like free money

What kind of but did you know that the average person gets back to $3,000 per year? I can't get it I

Don't think I've ever gotten back to $3,000 even when I was paying the most in interest on my student loans

We're gonna go over five ways that smart people

Spend to their tax refund to really make it last make it last beyond that

Year that you're currently in make it last two years five years ten years or even

20 years if you want we got to do this fast

I'm personally excited about the last one on the list because that's the one that I will be utilizing this year

But before we actually get into that list of five

I need to mention two things the first one is that you should always

Minimize how much you're getting back from the government so if you are getting close to that 3,000

Then you should probably go talk to your employer and get your filing status change because you want to limit that amount of money

Because you're essentially allowing the government to hold your money

interest-free for that full year so if you change your filing status

And they start taking out less in taxes that means they will owe you

Less the next year when you get your refund

I know that all kinds of situations change as well so sometimes you can't always

Plan for how much you're going to get back so for example this year is my first year being

Out of debt my first full year, so I'm not paying any money in interest on my student loans

So I'm not gonna get a tax break for that, but I did buy a house

So I don't know how that's going to impact my filing status

And how much my return is so I will see after this year as to if I'm getting quite a bit

back

then I will change my filing status and do what I can to minimize that that way I can keep my own money throughout the

Year, and I can invest it in other areas that will actually

Hopefully pay me back a return as opposed to the government holding it interest-free for visuals

This is $3,000 in cash the average tax return

I'm about to drop this the second thing is I would

Really highly recommend spending your tax refund as soon as possible now that doesn't mean to spend it in a stupid way

okay, but have a plan for how you're going to spend it and the main reason for that is because

When you don't have the money for that long. You don't really feel like you own it

You don't you don't feel that connection with that money, holy?

fucking smokes the shorter amount of time that you have so

Get it in get it out that way

You don't hold on to it and kind of second guess what you're gonna do with it

Have a plan take action on that plan as long as it's in a smart way

But you'll get us get some smart ideas after we go through this list of five, okay

Let's get into the list of five things that smart people spend their tax refund on the first one is any kind of

general repairs

So think of like your car or your house those repairs that don't really have to get done for example a car

Your car still running, but you know there's a few things that need

Fixed but you don't have to spend the money on but the longer that you wait

the bigger of an issue that could become this is the perfect time to spend that kind of money the second thing is a

Child's educational fund if you have kids, I don't have kids

This is the perfect way to do fun to that account. I don't go fight how much I would spend

Towards funding my kid's education account maybe a little bit, but I never really got anything, so I don't know what I did, okay

Yes, I did. I guess I wasn't a whole bunch of debts. I probably shouldn't be saying that okay

I'll give my future kids a little bit of a Educational Fund, okay, but I'm not gonna fully fund it

They still need to work for it, but that's besides the point okay the second thing that I would recommend is dead

This is the perfect way to spend money towards your debts spend way towards your debts

That way you can move the needle so if you're someone who's been working towards getting out of debt

You're paying money towards your debts every single month kind of chipping away chipping away, and it's moving the needle

But it's moving the needle slowly think about if you got

$3,000 back and you put

$3,000 towards your debts. It would move the needle quite a bit. That would be pretty cool to spend that tax refund on that

On that type of thing now

That's what I did every year when I was in debt is I would take any tax refund that I had and I put it

Right towards my debts

so it was really exciting and is really cool like I said to see that needle move with that large amount of money that I

Could just throw towards the debts the next thing I would recommend is using it towards an emergency fund if you were currently

Saving up for an emergency fund or if you are working towards getting yourself out of debt

And maybe you've had to dip into that

emergency fund a little bit you want to get that fund back up to the limit that you've

Decided that is best for yourself and your family then use some of this

Some of this tax return money on that type of thing if you want to know how much you should have in your emergency fund

I did create a previous video on this topic

I'll put the link down in the description that way you can figure it out

or if you're thinking that maybe you want to get out of debt and

You're looking at that that emergency fund amount that you have to save up and you're like man. That's a lot

this is the perfect way to fund that emergency fund and get it started right that way you get it Fund and

Funded and then you can just focus on getting out of debt and the last thing my favorite number five is

Contributing to your IRA fund. We are allowed to contribute up to fifty five hundred dollars per year

There are some other stipulations if you're 15 above

But in general anybody below the age of 50 can can contribute up to fifty five hundred dollars per year

This is the perfect time to just put all that money towards your IRA contribution that way, it's more than half

Yeah more than halfway done

So that way the rest of the year you don't have to put it as much every single month because you've got that initial

$3,000 towards your IRA

Also, if you want a copy of the debt free prep workbook that I'm giving out

then the link is down in the description or go to debt free blueprint comm and

Sign up and I will give you a free copy of that to help you start working towards getting

Yourself out of debt getting your mindset ready for that type of thing

this is something that I wish I would have had before I started getting out of debt because I

Feel like it would have been better, so that's why I created this for you

I hope you enjoy it, so I'm crossing things off on my bucket list this year

And one of them is to make it rain at a strip club

I don't know if you want to put make it rain in the strip club, but that's why I need it for I

Figure I could probably like write it off on my taxes too cuz write it off the charity or something right?

I think that might be one of the strippers names, so

Okay, what are you gonna, put since you're not gonna put make it rain at a strip club

Very good

How To Understand Social Security - Debunking Common Myths (Part 1) - Duration: 2:33.

Hi!

This is Rob Young, owner of Blue Dot Wealth Management.

Today we are going to talk about Social Security.

I know that some people that are younger are going to say "it won't be around when

I'm old" and some people that are older are going to say "when should I take it?".

I won't be answering those questions today largely because they can be long and complicated

and we try to keep these videos short.

So in the next two videos we're going to be tackling some of the common social security

myths.

Two myths per video.

Social Security is designed to replace most of my pre- retirement income."

Myth #1: Social Security is designed to replace most of my pre-retirement income.

On some level, most people know this is false.

According to the Social Security Administration, retirement benefits for those with average

earnings will likely replace about 40% of their pre-retirement earnings.

Those who had above average earnings in their working years can expect a lower replacement

rate, and vice versa.

The average monthly retirement benefit was recently $1,364, which amounts to $16,368

per year.

If your income has been above average, though, you'll collect more than that – up

to the maximum monthly Social Security benefit for those retiring at their full retirement

age, which is currently $2,687 or about $32,000 per year.

Myth #2: You Don't Have to Pay Taxes on Social Security Benefits.

I am sure millions of Social Security users will tell you otherwise so this Myth is pretty

easy to dispel.

The rules are as follows: If your combined income, that is, Adjusted Gross Income not

including and Social Security benefits plus any nontaxable interest plus half your benefits

is between $25,000 and $34,000 for singles, and $32,000 to $44,000 for couple filing jointly,

you'll owe taxes on up to 50% of your Social Security Benefits.

If your combined income exceeds those limits you may owe tax on up to 85% of your benefits.

Those numbers can move depending where Congress moves them so always check with your tax advisor

to see where you are.

Please subscribe and click on the bell to be notified when the next video is uploaded

to learn the other two social security myths, and if you want to chat about your unique

finances, don't hesitate to reach out to us.

Ant McPartlin net worth: How much will his divorce from Lisa Armstrong cost him? - Duration: 6:21.

Ant McPartlin net worth: How much will his divorce from Lisa Armstrong cost him?

Ant and Dec are without a doubt one of the most-loved TV duos in the UK.

They have successfully hosted a bunch of tv shows, including Britain's Got Talent, I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! and Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway for over 20 years.

It is not surprising that the pair have gathered quite a large fortune from their many successful stints.

However, now Ant and his wife of 11 years, Lisa Armstrong, are divorcing, it could be a pricey settlement.

How much is Ant McPartlin worth? Ant's net worth is thought to be a shocking £62 million – the same as his best friend and co-worker Dec.

They have earned their fortune through ITV jobs and lucrative endorsement deals.

The lovable duo signed a deal with ITV in 2007 worth £40 million – which is no doubt where most of his wealth comes from.

The deal was renewed recently for an estimated £30 million – which means the presenters are locked to the channel until 2019.

In 2016 both he and Dec earned a whopping £29.5 million each, and they have won numerous awards for their presenting.

The pair are paid £2.5 million each for their one-month I'm A Celebrity.Get Me Out Of Here stint.

They also own a production company called Mitre – which is worth £10 million.

Mitre co-produces Saturday Night Takeaway, and helps the presenting duo regularly rake in the cash.

Ant and Dec also invest in property – owning properties worth a combined £10 million.

"It's a huge amount but he wants Lisa to be financially and emotionally supported" Source How much will Lisa Armstrong get from the divorce? It has been reported that Lisa, who has been together with Ant for 23 years, could walk away with half of his fortune.

This means the make-up artist would get £31 million from the divorce.

A source told The Sun: "It's a huge amount but he wants Lisa to be financially and emotionally supported.

"He wants things to be amicable and doesn't want a drawn out court battle with Lisa.

"He still views her as a best friend and wants them both to be able to walk away from the marriage positively.

"He is happy to give Lisa 50% in the divorce if that is what is agreed by their lawyers." The pair met in 1994 on the Smash Hits tour, and tied in the knot in 2006 after being together for 12 years.

Shortly after meeting Lisa he achieved his dream of going on Top of The Pops, and since then she became an indispensable backroom partner.

As Ant's career soarer she helped him make valuable decisions and supported him.

After deciding to divorce, her legal team are reportedly advising Lisa to go for half of his £62 million fortune.

This is because the couple were together for so long – and argue she has contributed to his success.

However, some reports claim that the divorce could cost Ant even more than that, and that Lisa could "end up with fives times the touted £31 million settlement".

Divorce experts appear to believe Lisa is entitled to the enormous pay-out.

Cara Nuttall, of Manchester law firm JMW, said: "It seems likely that they will split their money and go separate ways, rather than Lisa having maintenance.

"Given they are still quite young, most people prefer a clean break and a fresh start.

"It would be surprising if Lisa walked away with much less than half their fortune." Reports say this could be a figure closer to £155 million.

A source revealed to The Sun that Lisa has not yet made a move because she is not motivated by money.

The source said: "She has been focusing on getting through the devastating end of her marriage in one piece.

"But she has a very strong legal team behind her.

The argument is Lisa has been pivotal to Ant achieving his fortune so she deserves to see some of his future earnings.".
