How much salary should I pay myself as a house cleaner, when I'm hiring other people?

That is a great question and we're going to talk about that today.

Hi there I'm Angela Brown and this is Ask a House Cleaner.

This is a show where you get to ask a house cleaning question,

and I get to help you find an answer.

Today's show is brought to us by MyCleaningConnection.com

and that is a resource hub for all things cleaning.

So there are all different kinds of articles and training that you can get as a professional

house cleaner, there are blogs, and videos, and podcasts, and all kinds of stuff, cleaning

equipment, and supplies.

It's just a really fun hub that will help you out in your cleaning business.

MyCleaningConnection.com.

Alright onto today's question which is from Anna, who has this question.

Hi Angela, my name is Anna, my cleaning business is very new but I have a question

about salaries and what I should be paid versus what my other people in my company should

be paid.

It is a very new business and I've started it all up by myself.

I'm the one who has invested in all of the equipment and the cleaning products, obviously

I've put in the time to research and find clients, and learn about cleaning.

I've put a lot of time and money into my small, new business so far.

It's just starting to pick up, three clients a week type of thing.

I want my boyfriend and my brother to join me, because they think that then we could

take on a lot more clients, they both are excellent workers and I think we could do

awesome work together.

Now, since I have gotten this thing off the ground and I'm the one who am going to be

purchasing insurance, and all these things, I'm the one who's communicating with the client,

emailing back and forth, administrative type things.

How would I know what to pay my brother and my boyfriend versus what I earn, because I'm

doing more work and I've made a bigger investment of my time and my money.

Thank you Angela.

Angela Brown: Alright Anna, congratulations on your new business, and welcome to the world

of cleaning.

There are a whole bunch of things that you need to consider as you're getting started,

and I can't give you a definitive answer on how much your salary should be because I don't

know where you live, how much you charge per hour is going to be based on where you live.

Let's say that you live in middle America.

We're not talking about California, we're not talking about New York, because all along

the coast, you're going to have a much higher expense living, and it's going to raise the

price of the cleaning.

If you live in the UK it's going to drop the prices, because the prices are about half

what they are in the US.

In middle America, let's just say for sake of ease that you charge $25 an hour as you're

getting started in the cleaning business.

That's about middle of the road in standard rural America.

If you do, my suggestion would be that you go somewhere around 50-60% of what you're

charging for the customer.

So, if you are hiring people already, you're going to want to pay them 50-60% of what you're

bringing in, in order to inspire them to keep coming back, but you still have to figure

out what your profit and losses are, you got to figure out what your expenses are.

Then you have to figure out you're going to have left on the table, and does it make sense

for you to go ahead and hire people at this point.

If you only have three customers right now, my suggestion would be don't hire anyone.

Completely book out your schedule until your schedule is completely full.

Now, what I mean by this, is if you're charging $25 an hour and you're working five days a

week, eight hours a day, that is $1000 a week that you're bringing in.

That is $4000 a month, that's just the simple math.

That doesn't talk about all the expenses and everything you have behind the table.

That's just the money that you're bringing in.

What could $4000 do for your business right now?

It could help you get up and running, it could ease the blow of having immediate bills to

pay, so you can focus on growing your business.

As you grow your business and you hire your

brother and your husband, or your boyfriend, as you hire these extra people, you're going

to have to raise your rates.

As you raise your rates, that will give you more money for advertising and more money

to pay yourself these things.

In the beginning, you're going to have a lot of sweat equity and you're not going to get paid.

I'm not trying to paint an ugly picture, but you have to be willing to absorb some of that

cost in order to get started.

You're starting out on your own and that is the expense.

When you jump into a franchise and you buy a franchise, they do a background check.

They make sure you have a business background because they do not want you to fail.

The next thing is, a lot of them require that you have a college degree.

They want to make sure that you know how to learn,

and that you will implement the things that you've learned.

They probably know you have a student loan that you have to pay off.

Another thing is, they want to make sure that you have $150,000 to $200,000 of operating capital

upfront so you have enough money to grow your business as you get going, so because you

started out on your own, you don't have to come up with hundreds of thousands of dollars

up front, and you're not going to paying a 10% franchise fee to the franchise for the

rest of your career.

So you get to keep all that extra money.

The reality is as you get started, you're going to start out at a basic price.

The basic price is going to let people give your service a try, okay?

If you go in and you're like, "Well I know my worth, I'm going to charge top dollar"

You're going to have a couple of customers, but you're not going to have a lot, and your

schedule will not be full.

My recommendation is drop your price just a tad, so that it's more alluring to the other

customers that are out there that would not give your service a try at a higher price.

Once your schedule is full, the minute you think you have this figured out, that's when

everything changes.

You probably have enough experience now behind the helm of the business doing all the day

to day stuff that you know kind of what's expected.

You've been in enough contracts that you kind of know how to spin a conversation to your

advantage, and you know how to set boundaries and expectations with new customers.

So there's some things upfront that you need to learn before you start hiring people.

If your husband or your boyfriend, and your brother come with you on the jobs, you are

still going to be expected to do all the administrative stuff.

So, right now there's not enough money to pay them.

Even at $25 an hour, if you pay them $15 a hour, which is 60%, there's only $10 left

for you, that's for all the insurance, for your workman's comp, for all your cleaning

supplies, for your gas, for your advertising, for all that stuff.

There's actually not enough money to go around, and then you don't get paid.

So, my suggestion to you would be don't hire anyone yet.

Make sure that you have a completely full schedule.

I'm talking about just working solo.

Work solo until your schedule is completely filled, then you can start growing and expanding

your business as you're able to.

You're going to have to raise the rates on the customers, you're going to have to have

more expenses because you have more people, you have more cars, you have more jobs, you

have more advertising.

The expenses grow as your income grows.

So, there's a lot going on right here, and my suggestion is if you only have three customers

right now, do not expand.

This is not the time for you to expand.

There are lots of people that just want to run the business, and I love that entrepreneurial

mentality, but right now you don't have the goods for it.

You don't have the resources to bring in the money to pay you for your admin time, and

still keep everybody employed full time.

You can't take your boyfriend and your brother off their regular jobs for three jobs a week,

that's not enough money to go around.

Nobody is going to pay that much money to support three people,

it's just not enough money.

So my suggestion is work solo until your schedule is completely filled, and then start expanding,

try to keep your ratios at about 50-60%, meaning you give them 60% of the revenue coming in,

and you keep the other 40 for the business.

That allows you to put money back into the business and it allows you to pay for your

time as well, because your time will be streamlined,

and it will be amortized over all of the hours of different people working.

So that would be my suggestion for you, for right now.

Right now the money is not there.

Work solo until your business does grow.

Alrighty, that's my two cents for today, until we meet again,

leave the world a cleaner place, than when you found it.

[AION 6.2] Economy Reset. How Much Does 1 Aion Coin Cost Now? - Duration: 2:13.

Hello and welcome back on my channel.

6.2 brought a lot of changes and of them is economy reset.

Mighty Supplements can be discarded and you won't be getting billions of kinah every

week, like it used to be in 5.8.

On top of that, most of the items are tradable only via broker and now

you need to pay really high fees.

But, when I go and check the prices, some of them make me smile.

Key-items, such as Gold Packs, and new manastones cost ridiculously high.

I believe it's caused by habit.

Ppl used to sell items for a fixed price and keep doing that in the new patch.

Or, maybe those sellers wanna rip you off, idk.

However, broker prices were always bound to Aion Coin.

For example, a GP cost 200kk back in 5.8, cuz 1 Aion Coin was 2kk.

After the reset the rate has changed, because 8.7kk old kinah

was converted into 1.3kk new kinah.

So, how much does 1 Aion Coin cost now?

Let's do some 5th grade math.

Here's the formula.

You just need to divide 8 700 000 by 1 300 000.

And then divide the old price of Aion Coin (which is 2kk) by that outcome.

As you can see, 1 aion coin equals… let's round up, 300k in 6.2.

Meaning the price of a Gold Pack should be 30kk.

Or up to 36kk, including 20% broker fees.

I really want you to share this video with your friends and with ppl,

who sell you shop items.

Thanks for watching and see you rly soon!

How Much Tea Would it Take to Turn the Boston Harbor into Tea? - Duration: 4:30.

On December 16, 1773, a bunch of protesters did a slightly more intense

version of what I'm doing here. They chucked more than 340 chests full of tea,

which would be about eighteen and a half million of these, into this harbor right

here to protest tea taxes. You can read about the history if you want to. We're a

chemistry channel, so what we want to know is this: was the Boston Harbor

actually temporarily transformed into a giant cup of tea?

According to one report we found Boston Harbor has a volume of roughly

600 trillion liters, which is a lot.

The Boston Tea Party protesters dumped about 42,000 kilograms of tea

into the water, which is also a lot. Depending on who you ask it takes

roughly two grams of tea to make a 240 milliliter or eight ounce cup of tea.

We're gonna round that off to a gram of tea for every hundred milliliters of

water or about 10 grams per liter. 42,000 kilograms of tea in 600 trillion liters

works out to about this much which is probably too weak to even taste, so the

Boston Tea Partiers didn't add nearly enough tea to the harbor to actually

turn it into a cuppa. They would have needed this much tea, which works out to

about 6.6 million US tons or between 2 and 3 trillion of these, which I couldn't

fit in the cab on the way here. And if we want a proper cuppa of course we need

milk and sugar. One lump or two translates to 4 or 8 grams of sugar for

240 mLs. Of course we're gonna go for 2, which means we would need this many

kilograms of sugar, or just five billion sugar cubes, and a splash of milk, which

is about 10 or 15 mLs per cup, works out, very roughly, to 30 billion liters. We are

estimating wildly by the way. These are ballpark figures but even wildly

estimating amounts of tea, milk, and sugar doesn't take into account the underlying

chemistry. First the harbor is salt water, which both tastes bad and also means

it's not drinkable as is. Also the presence of salt might affect how much

certain chemicals in the tea like caffeine can be extracted

from the leaves. Second, you normally make tea with boiling water, because the

hotter the water the more quickly it will extract all the delicious chemicals

we want from the tea. The Boston Tea Party took place in December when sea

surface temperatures around here are a cool eight degrees Celsius, which isn't

too far off from the temperature of your refrigerator. But the good tasting stuff

in tea is water soluble even when the water is cold. The cold temperature slows

down its diffusion from the tea leaves into the water, but it doesn't prevent it

entirely. So maybe the colonists were going for

cold brewed tea. So the temperature isn't a problem exactly,

but there's another potential issue. Boston Harbor is not a tea cup. It

doesn't have boundaries. Doesn't have walls. Water flows into the harbor and

out to sea. Which means it completely turns over after a while. In fact

surprisingly fast. After just one to five days all the water in the harbor has

been replaced, which means all our tea would be gone.

So the real question is if we did dump enough tea into the harbor -

theoretically make a cup of tea, would it diffuse quickly enough throughout the

harbor to make said cuppa, or would the water turn over too fast for the tea to

ever reach an acceptably high concentration. My calculus is a little

rusty so we called in some help. Our expert, Dr. Gordon Zhang, figures that if

you could get enough tea in there, the one to five days the water sticks around

would be enough time for the tea to get strong enough to taste. But he also says

that salt water would need to be diluted about thirty times to make it drinkable.

So we did all that hard work. Came up with all these massive numbers, and now

we need to dilute it another thirty times. Ugh. I give up. So we couldn't

actually turn the Boston Harbor into tea we did have a lot of fun trying. Huge

thanks to the Liberty fleet of tall ships for letting us play around on

their tall ship, the Liberty Star. Thanks for watching. Feel free to dispute my

math down in the comments below or argue about the correct number of

sugar cubes and whether milk actually belongs in tea (IT DOES) but before you do

make sure to LIKE share and subscribe so that we can keep making cool videos like

these. We'll see you next week.

Study reveals how much money Alexis Sanchez has earned at Man United since Arsenal transfer - Duration: 3:34.

Ex-Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez has so far cost Manchester United over half a million pounds per appearance since signing for the club in January

After a three-and-a-half stay with the Gunners came to an end at the start of 2018, Sanchez's form has rapidly declined

A new study from talkSPORT has investigated just how much the Chilean has earned per appearance and goal so far during his eight months with The Red Devils

According to Football Leaks, who have been quoted by the Daily Mail, Sanchez is the club's highest-paid player on £391,000 per week

On top of that, he is also reportedly earning £75,000 per appearance, as well as an annual signing-on fee of £1

1 million. To date, Sanchez has made just 23 appearances under Mourinho over his 35-week career for the club, which works out as more than £658,000 per match for the club

Sanchez has only found the net three times in that spell, costing them £4.83 million per goal

In total, Sanchez has already earned £14.48 million during his Old Trafford career so far, however, his lack of goals for the club may suggest that his performances on the pitch have not warranted his multi-million pound earnings

His arrival has reduced the game time for the likes of Marcus Rashford and in particular, Anthony Martial, who has been heavily linked with a move away from Manchester

Prior to his troublesome start to life with United, Sanchez starred in Arsenal's side under Arsene Wenger between 2014 and 2018, scoring 80 goals and providing 45 assists during his 166 appearances for The Gunners

He lifted the FA Cup trophy twice with the club in 2015 and 2017, scoring in both finals against Aston Villa and Chelsea respectively

However, by the same time Sanchez had exited the club seven months ago, many Arsenal supporters were glad to see the back of him due to a number of attitude problems

Arsenal fans now are glad that he has been under-performing since he departed North London

@DonVerdii: Sanchez just isn't fit for United, he doesn't look like the slightest player he was at Arsenal

@FabFemz: I dont care how bad it gets at Arsenal, Sanchez regrets everyday leaving my club

@ThaBigSize: Dunno why u dug this up to laugh. Ozil is still and Arsenal player and Sanchez' football career is finished

Luggage and facilities on European trains - How to travel by train in Europe - Duration: 1:27.

Each train company offers different onboard facilities,

and what you get can also depend on your ticket type.

Luckily with Trainline, you can compare different ticket options for your journey in an instant!

All European trains have onboard toilets and luggage compartments (some with strict size restrictions).

And if you're bringing a bike with you, there may be special storage areas, but you'll need a reservation.

Some trains, usually the more modern ones,

will have air conditioning, WiFi, and power outlets to make your journey more comfortable

– but sometimes these are just perks for First Class passengers.

If you're travelling for a while, it's worth checking if there are food options on your train to avoid hunger pangs.

Some services will have onboard cafés or food carts selling light snacks, sandwiches and drinks,

while premium services may offer full meals, either at your seat or in a dining carriage.

If your train doesn't have food facilities,

you're better off grabbing some food at the station and bringing it with you.

Bear in mind that there's no smoking allowed on board.

For specific details about your train's facilities, head over to our Trainline Tips page.

How Much Should You Spend on Marketing? - Duration: 3:39.

Hey, everyone. Today I want to bring some clarity to the question of, "How much

should you budget for your marketing?" and, "Should you budget for a year, should you

budget monthly, should you do a combination of both?" And so let's talk

about that a little bit and break it down and what that could mean for your

small business. So research has shown, compiled from a bunch of different

sources, that you should spend about 7% of your annual revenue on marketing for

the year. So if, for example, you have revenue of $500,000 per year then you

would want to have a marketing spend for the year of about $35,000; and if you

break that out monthly it's about $2,900 that you're spending per month on

marketing. Now that might seem really high, but realistically if you're not

spending money well on your marketing, you're not driving in new business and

you have no real reason to be in business if you're not getting new

customers. So, once you know how much you're spending - that 7%

for your business - even if you're not a $500,000 a year business just take 7%

of your annual revenue and then you can figure out what you should be

spending. From that total marketing spend, there's two items that I want to

highlight further, and that's gonna be for your website and then for your

digital ad spend. And so for your website - from that 7% - you should ideally

spend about 9% to 10% per year on your website. That means building a new

website, upgrading and adding features to your website, making it user-friendly and

looking at the user experience, evaluating what you can do to optimize

your website to increase your lead conversions. So that would be included in

all of that. So in that example for the $500,000

company that is spending $35,000 per year on marketing in general - everything

that they're doing from inbound, outbound, print, and all of their tactics with

promotions and everything like that - with their website they want to spend about

$3,100 - $3,200 per year, which breaks out to about $260 per

month. And then for the digital ad spend, you want

to spend about 7% of your marketing allocation budget on digital

and so that's going to be about $2,450 per year, or if you break it

out monthly, about $205. And so when you're looking at

what you're spending and the returns that you're seeing on that spend, make sure

that they align because, ultimately, if your marketing is not bringing in

results - if there's no return on the marketing that you're doing - you need to

reevaluate your options because you want to get

customers out of what you're doing. So if you're not driving customers from the

things that you're currently doing it'd be worth having a conversation with

someone who's in a similar business as you, if they're willing to share what

they're doing, just other outside sources, other experts. There's a lot of resources

online that you can look at, or you can even have a conversation with one of us.

So if you're questioning how much you should be spending, the general rule

is you should spend 7% of your annual revenue on marketing - all of

your marketing - you should spend about 9-10% of that budget on

your website, and then you should spend about 7% of that budget on

digital advertisements. I hope this is helpful and we'll see you next time.

Princess Eugenie royal wedding: How much will it cost compared to Meghan and Harry's? - Duration: 4:12.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding is estimated to have cost in the region of £32 million

Security is expected to have cost the most on the day, due to the increased terrorist threat and the need to protect the royal family, guest and members of the public

The cost of security is estimated to have cost as much as £30 million, with £390,000 spent on Meghan's wedding dress, more than £1 million to Windsor and Maidenhead council and around £230,000 for the PA system which relayed events from inside the chapel to the public

Hamish Shephard, founder of wedding planning app, calculated the cost of Princess Eugenie and Jack's wedding, with an estimation for everything from the wedding dress, to entertainment and flowers

Venue Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank will marry in the same location as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle - St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle

The gothic style chapel can seat approximately 800 guests for the ceremony. The Queen will host a reception in the afternoon at Windsor Castle, as she did for Harry and Meghan and the evening reception will be held at the Royal Lodge, where Prince Andrew lives

Mr Shepherd predicts the colder October weather will call for a marquee to keep guests warm and a fully equipped catering tent

All the venues are expected to cost upwards of £85,000.Catering and drinks The catering costs should reach a staggering £151,600 as the newlyweds will be feeding 850 guests and Princess Eugenie has said she wants the wedding to be completely plastic free

As Jack is the UK ambassador for George Clooney's Casamigos tequila, they will likely save some money on alcohol but other alcohol and drink costs are expected to total £84,500

Mr Shepherd told Mail online: "Maybe the tequila for free, but the rest of the alcohol, from reception champagne to wine-pairings at dinner, will add a hefty weight to the bill

"Dress Princess Eugenie has not revealed anything about her wedding dress, other than she will choose a British designer

Bookies have placed high odds on Eugenie picking a Stella McCartney gown, which is expected to cost around £230,000

Floristry "Hundreds of thousands of fresh flowers and herbs will decorate the church, windsor Castle and marquees, likely with the notable caveat that they can be re-planted following the wedding to ensure minimal environmental impact," Mr Shepherd said

"This is a noble, yet pricey decision." Flowers are expected to cost £100,000 and will be an opportunity to show off the season's British flowers

Music and entertainment Mr Shepherd estimates music and entertainment will cost between £25,000 and £55,000

This could include trumpets, bell ringers, organist, choirs, DJs and live bands. However the couple may be able to save some money with their famous friends who could thrown in a free song or two - namely Ellie Goulding, James Blunt and Robbie Williams, whose daughter will be a bridesmaid

Security Security is expected to be the most costly element of the wedding bill, making up £2 million of the estimated £2

7 million wedding cost. Princes Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank will have a carriage procession through Windsor town centre and even though it will be a lot shorter than Meghan and Harry's, it will still be costly to protect the royal couple

The security costs are expected to include sniper coverage and anti-drone technology

The security budget for royal weddings falls under "public safety" and so comes under the country's treasury - the UK taxpayer will front this bill

However a petition has been launched urging the royal family to cover the costs of security for the wedding

The royal family is expected to pick up the rest of the wedding and reception costs

Other costs Cake - £5,600 Stationery - £30,000 Wedding rings - £6,000 Bridesmaid outfits - £5,000 Hair and makeup - £2,700 Toilets - £16,000 Total cost of royal wedding - £2,684,020
