The greatest hindrance to the new life that Jesus offers is the old life and the things

of the world that tend to remind us of it.

That's why in order to have what is good, acceptable and perfect, the apostle Paul instructed,

"Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds."

Certainly, those of us who have been in the church for any length of time are familiar

with this.

What we're not all as familiar with is how to practically do it.

While penning my book, Activating the Power of God's Word, I dissected Paul's instructions,

which revealed the solution.

The answer for "how to renew" is in the word itself, which means "to resume to an

original position after an interruption."

You see, when you were born again, you were instantly positioned as a new person in Christ.

That's what 2 Corinthians 5:17 assures: "So if anyone is in Christ, there is a new

creation."

As this new creation, you now possess the fruits of the Holy Spirit: "love, joy, peace,

patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control."

Because you're now clothed in Christ, you also get the identity of Christ: a child of

God, righteous and complete, just to name a few.

The struggle we face as Christians is that the world and the enemy continue to try to

interrupt us with reminders and feelings that take us back to the old life—old ways of

thinking, speaking and living—and to at least dampen God's promises of joy, peace

and patience, for examples.

So the key to experiencing the new, transformed life that Jesus died for you to have is to

interrupt the interruptions with the truth of God's Word.

If feelings of fear try to interrupt you, resume back to your fearless position in Christ

with 2 Timothy 1:7: "God has not given me a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power,

love, and self-disciple."

If anxious thoughts try to interrupt you, resume back to your peaceful position in Christ

with Philippians 4:6–7: "I am not anxious about anything … but the peace of God which

surprises all understanding, guards my heart and mind in Christ Jesus."

If reminders of mistakes try to interrupt you with guilt or shame, resume back to your

forgiven position in Christ with 2 Corinthians 5:21: "He who knew no sin took on my sin

so that I am declared the righteousness of God in Christ."

As you interrupt the interruption with God's Word through your mouth, your mind focuses

back on your position in Christ, which in time trickles down to transform everything

about you.

Quick and Simple Valentine - Duration: 3:49.

Hey everybody! In today's video I have a very quick and simple and graphic

Valentine card for you and it's something that I just love - it's exactly

my style. This is the Concord &9th Love You So

bundle, which is a beautiful graphic set with a bunch of different combinations

that you can do, all of them very modern and bold which I like. I'm not into

schmoopy so modern and bold is my preference. I'm using a very

well-loved and somewhat dry Melon Mambo ink pad I'm not gonna lie

I should have reinked it before this video but with the MIST it doesn't matter

because I can just keep stamping it until it looks normal so really I'm

saving ink! I'm being very frugal - that's what I'm doing. That's my story and I'm

sticking to it! Now there's a fun halftone pattern that

goes over the square which I love. That's one of my favorite patterns and so I'm

stamping that in black because I think pink and black is adorable and it

matches my MISTI, so why not? There are other little dies in the set

that I'm going to use with my mini die-cutting machine from Altenew. I

love this machine because it fits in my videos. I'm going to cut out the heart

out of Melon Mambo also and then the arrow out of black but I also need a

black heart because the heart isn't really standing out against that pink

square. But what's great about this die

is if I use the little outline piece that comes with it - this is something

Concord & 9th does a lot which I like - then I have a frame for my heart,

and now it really pops against the square.

So now I'm going to attempt to do something really poorly thought-out and stupid

here but I'm leaving it in the video because y'all say you like it when I

leave my mistakes in. I'm cutting with an exacto a little slot so that I can weave

the arrow through the heart which just seems like a good idea right? I mean you

might have tried that. It wasn't - it was a terrible idea!

It looks like botched heart surgery by the time I'm finished. It makes this cute

little heart look mangled and stupid. Look - it's awful! So I'm ditching that

idea. I need to cut myself another arrow and cut myself another pink heart

because of the mangled heart that I now have, so after I do that I'm going to glue

down the black frame where I want it at the edge of this square - kind of centered -

and then I can cut myself another little pink heart that isn't botched and stick

that in there. Now for the arrow I've come to my senses and I'm just going to

snip a tiny piece out and make it look like it's going through the heart

without it making look like the heart was attacked by a vicious animal. So

there's that and then I'm gonna take my Neat &Tangled Like Magic sequins and I

just kind of fling them on my card because sometimes that gives me an idea

of where to put them. As you know, overthinking sequin placement is a

disease affecting many crafters, so I try not to do that by just flinging them all

out there (and usually some on the floor.) But I love these sequins - they're my

HOW TO SET GOALS AND ACHIEVE THEM - Simple steps to achieve goals in 2018 - Duration: 5:08.

hey guys it's Christina here and this episode is slightly different to the

ones that you usually see on my channel

This episode is about setting new year's resolutions and why am i expert in this

why am i sharing this with you it's because there is a lot of wealth of

information there is a lot of videos about how to set goals how to be

successful in them and trust me I tried so so many of those and I was really

unsuccessful and what in the last couple of years I have been doing and I was

successful with it I thought of sharing it with you because I know that we're

different people and not everything works the same for us so maybe something

that has worked for me will also work for some of you so let's get into it

shall we the very first thing that I do that I

tend to do is I try and avoid setting goals in the beginning of the year I

know it's a little bit strange but bear with me because I feel like if you set

goals in the beginning of the year you did because of the peer pressure and

sometimes you set the goals that you don't really mean

or want or you're not very dedicated to achieve like sometimes people say oh

I'll start going to the gym everyday this year so what I try to do is I

set either just a few days or months before the goal and or after and

sometimes this I set goals two to four times a year so don't set I don't have

like one day to where I set goals for the whole 12 months I actually set goals

for the next two months I will have probably a generic goal and then I will

have sub goals that will have a shorter time a month or two months so I can

evaluate them on a regular basis such a goal could be replacing their milk with

plant-based milk and just see notice for the next 30 days how my body feels if

and if I like it or if there any difficulty so just look at

pros and cons and then after that if I want to go a step further if I see that

my body responds very positively to plant-based milk then maybe I want to

keep it for another month or two months or for the rest of the year and then

adding something else like for example instead of eating meat five times a

week I would eat meat three times a week so making goals also specific as

specific as possible so you might have a generic goal such as stay healthy

become healthier and then you will have sub goals and those sub goals are very

very important because you'll see that those are the ones that will help you

achieve your bigger goal so what I found is setting small and manageable goals

and being specific with your goals on a regular

basis is what helped me achieve them then I also looked at my strengths and

weaknesses and I realized that there are some areas where I would love to have an

accountability partner so I can strive and I can keep on working very hard

towards a certain goal like for example around my business because I'm not an

expert and that having an accountability partner or someone that will have a

second thought or opinion someone that has done things before or that just someone

that I can call and say by the way I have done this I was really successful I

find that that helps and it is not a bad or a good thing it's just in some areas

we do need support we do need help so make sure you get it so you can achieve

your goals if you really want to so those were my

four tips on how to set new year's resolutions or how to make at least your

new resolution successful so the first one of them is set small and manageable

goals evaluate your goals frequently so every month or every two months

reevaluate them just understand if you want to continue and if you like what

you're seeing then take it a step further and also have an accountability

partner in areas where you're don't feel strong enough thank you so much for

Healthy & Simple Homemade Mac and Cheese Recipe - Duration: 3:39.

okay the new year is here which means

most people are starting new resolutions

with weight-loss and getting back into shape

being the most popular

so today we´re going to be grabbing the classic

mac and cheese

and turning it into a much healthier dish

that way you can still eat comfort food

when your watching your calorie in-take

now this mac and cheese is still super creamy

and it still has a ton of flavor

and the best part of it all

it´s done in under 30 minutes

so let´s dive right into this

we´re going to begin by finely mincing 2 cloves of garlic

and finely dicing 1/2 of an onion

okay now we can start cooking

grab a sauce pan

fill it up half way with water

season the water with a generous pinch of sea salt

and a kiss of extra virgin Spanish olive oil

and we´re going to heat it a HIGH heat

the reason why we add sea salt and extra virgin olive oil

to the water is for 2 reasons

one the sea salt helps flavor the pasta

while the extra virgin olive oil

helps the pasta not stick while it´s cooking

okay we´re moving on

grab a non-stick frying pan

heat it with a MEDIUM heat

and we´re going to add 2 tablespoons of

extra virgin Spanish olive oil

once the oil get´s hot add the diced onions

and the minced garlic

and mix them in there with the oil

after cooking our onions and garlic for about 3 minutes

we´re going to add 1 tablespoon of all-purpose flour

and mix it in there with the garlic and the onions

okay once our flour is well mixed

with the garlic and the onions

we´re going to be adding 1/2 cup of low fat organic milk

Ok as our milk is heating up our water has began to boil

so I´m going to add

1 cup of whole wheat elbow macaroni

and cook it for exactly 10 minutes

to get it perfectly al-dente

ok once our milk has thickened up

its been cooking for about 2 minutes

I´m going to shred in about

1 cup of a low-fat queso Manchego

if you can´t find this cheese in your area

just use your favorite low-fat cheese

now mix the cheese with the milk

until the cheese is nice and melted

and once the cheese is fully melted turn off the fire

ok while our cheese and milk mixture is cooling off

our pasta has been cooking for exactly 10 minutes

so I´m going to go ahead and remove it

I´m going to drain the pasta and set it aside

after leaving our sauce to cool off between 3-4 minutes

I´m going to add 1/2 cup of Greek yogurt

this is going to make our sauce be a lot more creamier

and rich

I´m going to be adding some seasonings

to really make this dish pop

then I´m going to grab the pasta put it into the pan

mix everything together until it´s well mixed

and start plating the dish

for our seasonings I´m going to be adding

1/2 teaspoon of dried thyme

a 1/4 teaspoon of smoked paprika

some sea salt

and a generous portion of freshly cracked black pepper

and mix this all together

once well mixed add the cooked pasta

and mix everything together until it´s well mixed

and look at that beautiful creaminess

well add some of the mac and cheese to a shallow bowl

and we´ll garnish it with a cherry tomato

and a couple sprigs of fresh thyme

ok I´m going to give this mac and cheese a try...Salud!

so good!

I mean it´s comfort food but without the guilt

goals of people their dreams everybody wants to be there new you and to better

themselves and all this is great it's great to have dreams it's great to have

aims and goals but even better than that is to actually go after them and do

something about it and sadly a lot of people fail there so the thing is you

know it's not about the New Year it's not about Monday it's not about some

kind of milestone you know it's about what you want to achieve what you want

to be and just doing something about it like the famous Nike's slogan says right

just do it but a lot of people you know need some kind of milestones or wait for

something because they might have big goals big aims you know they might be

actually dreaming big and beautiful things but they are afraid they are

afraid of failure they are afraid of what others will say but the truth is it

doesn't matter you know it doesn't matter what your friends will say or

they might think that you felt it doesn't matter if now your siblings

think you know that you might have failed because the truth is in 99.9

percent of the time the world doesn't care they just don't

care and in the rest of the times if they do care it's probably good for you

because it gives you exposure so basically there is nothing to worry

about you know you can only win the only reason you're losing is because of the

thing that you know you put in your head that prevent you from doing what you

want what you laugh-in butcher and what you're after okay and you know means bad

they have a great saying that I just and it says that if you can do anything

about a problem then there is no use worrying about it and if you can do then

why worry so you know the idea is just is just start just do and it's not about

because it's a new year it's not about because it's Monday it's about what you

want to do and you know then people are scared because you know something might

be very big and they don't know how to start or they're afraid that they fail

but as I said it's good to dream and it's even better to dream big because

the only way to achieve something big and to go very far ahead is to try to go

very far head it's to aim very big right and even if you fail in achieving what

you might have set yourself for then you still might achieve a lot and you still

might achieve more than anybody else thought that you couldn't maybe more

than you thought you could okay and the only way to do that is to aim Bay and

that thing I just believe so much in and I just do that every day in my life you

know I always set my goal so high that they're practically unachievable so it's

practically impossible to achieve that so you know I might be living everyday

in failure for some people but then when people look at me from the outside I'm

achieving a lot and that's because I aim for a lot and and that just keeps me

motivated that keeps me going and that will push you to actually do

more than you thought you could do and that's when you really start winning

when you're motivated you're loving every day of going what you want to do

and just you know do more just do a little bit more than you thought you

could and when you do that every day it compounds and the worst reason that

stops a lot of people from cheating their goals the new year's

resolutions whatever it is it's because they don't know how to start they have

some kind of big goals you know maybe some kind of a big Idol that they

haven't it just seems so far away in a head from their own reality that they

just don't know what to do to go in that direction and that's why a lot of people

always fantasize for this you know perfect moments that they need to start

and for all of people that you know next Monday maybe New Year's Eve maybe some

kind of other milestone and while it's true that sometimes there is this

perfect moment that you can start something always the second best moment

is to start it now and for most of people like over 99.9% of the time the

first best moment the perfect moment is now so you might just start it now right

because I promise you if you wait you're just losing you're missing out if you

start doing something now even if you don't start doing it you know from the

perfect position or you're not as prepared as you would like to be you

understand that you're worrying much more by trying to do something than just

waiting and some kind of preparing and all of us are looking at these great

people that something I always talk about then I believe very much in you

know in looking at you know what you want to achieve you know it could be it

could be someone very famous or someone very rich you know a scientist you know

a businessman an entrepreneur whatever it is it is someone that has

achieved a lot but a lot of people don't realize that those great successful

people they didn't just wake up one morning and you know became very

successful okay greatness is beaut every day

day by day years in years some for some people that's decades of work okay and a

lot of times this is not seen because in one

moment someone becomes very successful and then all of us just start thinking

about him like he's a different kind of person but no he's the same person and

he's the same as you he has just put a lot of work in it so

how to start you know just do the best you can at the moment every day every

hour every moment in time it probably will seem like nothing compared to what

you want to achieve but by doing something little you first of all you

move the world you go and second of all you're learning you're learning in which

time you start doing more and more and more and then the second thing is push

yourself you know think about that big end goal that you have and just do a

little more than you thought you could you you know just push yourself a little

and that compounding with time I promise you that's how you win that's how you

can achieve a lot and you know your dreams your aims

they'll probably evolve they will change with you work in with what you learn but

that's just even better that that's what makes it great so overall as I said it's

not about a New Year's Eve it's not about some kind of milestone it's not

about the resolution it's about what you really want to achieve we wanted to be

in just doing something going after it and you know it might look like easy for

me to talk about that now we just find which you know try and do it then you

know don't give up after two days you know don't give up after a week just

keep doing it you know do the best you can at every moment and I promise you

you will win it's not about what others think it's not about how others see you

it's about you being your best you I hope you enjoyed that and even though I

was talking about from the perspective of the new year starting you know that

is true remember that this is true every day every moment

of time and it's good to remind ourselves that stay focused stay strong

work and you will win see you next time!

Islanders held day-long dances, stopped going to work, slaughtered all their livestock and threw money into the sea.  They said a massive shipment of goods was on its way to them in boats.  There would be guns and axes, tinned food, lanterns, medical equipment, radios – all the stuff the European bosses owned and they didn't.

Westerners have spent almost a century laughing about these "cargo cults" as they're called, unaware, perhaps, that we worship the same things. .

The Price Is Right (Saturday, C4) is a game show all about our love of stuff.  It's been going since the Fifties and from China's Shopping Street to the stern-sounding Bulgarian This Is The Price, it's popped up in similar formats across the developed world.

It's easy to be po-faced about materialism, particularly around Christmas time but perhaps we should just accept that everyone's a cargo cultist and have fun doing it.  That seems to be the idea behind this latest reincarnation of the gameshow, hosted by comedian Alan Carr. .

I feared when I heard that Channel 4 were reviving the format that it might be a nasty affair.  You could imagine a panel of witty young comics doing it all in a spirit of irony while oozing disdain for people who get excited about new washing machines.  That's not Carr's style, though, and nothing about the show looked tongue-in-cheek.

Why should it, either? After all, the basic guessing game is something everyone does.  We do it when we go around the supermarket. We do it when we watch Antiques Roadshow.

It's also a set-up that, for all its simplicity, produces surprising results. .

When was the last time you saw a roomful of people cheering about the price of light bulbs?  How many competitions can you win, not by being clever but by giving the daftest answer possible?  How many experiences nowadays can rival the joy of spinning a wheel and seeing what number it stops on?  For simple Saturday night fun, this presses all the right buttons.

The lochs are Scotland's gift to the world.

So said Paul Murton at the start of Grand Tours Of Scotland's Lochs (Saturday, BBC2), although I was tempted to say that the lochs had some competition.  What about Lulu and Tunnock's Caramel Wafers? The world owes Scotland a few thank you letters, in my view, but certainly this little half-hour gem makes a strong case for the nation's wilderness.

Murton's journeys began north of Oban, where a sea inlet turns into the mighty Glen Etive.  It's a landscape sculpted over millions of years and, if anything other than geography linked the various stop-offs, it was an appreciation of time.

At Bonawe, halfway around the crescent-shaped fjord, he met some of the last charcoal makers, tending oak fires in the anxious way farmers tend to the spring lambs.

At Inverawe Smokehouse, the remarkable Robert CampbellPreston spoke about the 24/7 cold-smoking process and the different characters and temperaments of each fire with what could only be called love.  As a finale, high up above Rannoch Moor, Paul sat with photographer Murray Wilkie, who camped out in all weathers to capture the perfect light on the mountains.  The scenery was breathtaking but it's the people who live there who truly light it up.
