Hey, welcome back. Hey, today's topic is really important because has to do with

your relationship. Sometimes you have doubt and what do you do with that? Well,

in today's episode, you're going to learn about what to do next.

You know, when you get married, sometimes we think that you know, everything's just

going to work right, you know? Maybe you're in a relationship,

where you're dating or you know you have a significant other. You spend a lot of

time with and you really cherish that relationship. But sometimes in that

relationship, what can happen is there can be some things that are said. Or

there's some actions that don't quite line up with maybe some of your

expectations. And what can happen is we can begin to focus on those and then

that focus leads into noticing other things about the

relationship. But we got to be careful. Every relationship has its flaws. Every

person has their glitches. Every person does their weird things. There is not a

perfect person on this planet. But if we start to notice one thing wrong with our

significant other and we began to focus on that, we can actually start to

discover all of their glitches. Now, I'm so grateful that my wife, Kim doesn't

look at all my glitches. Because if she looked at all my glitches, I bet she

could find a thousand glitches. And I know what would happen. If she saw the

thousand glitches and she started to think about her thousand glitches at me,

what would happen is her language would change with me. Because then she would

start to speak to me like there's something wrong with me. You see, a small

amount of question or doubt and our spouse can cause us to actually change

our language. And so, for me, my mind can get wrapped on her glitches. But you know

what happens. What we focus on becomes the bigger part of what we notice. Now, I

have glitches, Kim has glitches. I bet everybody that's here all has glitches.

And we all admit we have glitches. But it doesn't do us any good to create that to

become something between us in a relationship. Because that can cause some

distance and cause some issues. And so for me, when I... In my mind, all sudden

starts to catch on to Kim's glitches and I start to see more of those, I've got to

pull my head out of that thinking and go, "Wait a minute, how am i speaking to her? How

am I talking to her?" Because if that's... If I look for what's wrong, it's how I'm

going to talk. If I look for what's awesome, it's how I'm goingto talk. And language

drives the relationship. Language drives our behavior. And language comes from our

thoughts. So, for something to remember: When you first met each other, you both

loved the differences and the similarities that you had between each

other. You literally are coming from two different places.

Your own story, your own past experiences, your own things. And remember, as this

relationship begins to mesh and melt together, those differences are still

there. Those similarities are still there. But it's just a sad day when I hear of a

spouse who questions or doubts the relationship because they're finding

differences. That's like, "Wait a minute, weren't those

differences there when you got married?" And they're like, "Oh, no, no! They weren't."

It's like, "Oh, wait a second. You were in bliss state. Where you didn't see

anything wrong with them." You know when we're in that blissful love? We're kind

of blind in the relationship. Because everything's perfect, right?

Everything's perfect when you first meet. But as you spend time with each other

and as time goes along, we have to manage what our mind looks at. And remember that

your spouse has always had those differences. Always had those little

glitches along the way. But be cautious about how you are looking at them.

Because it makes a difference. And you both have come from two different places.

As many glitches as you can find in your spouse,

you have the same amount of glitches. And that's what I got to remind myself is. "Oh,

Kim has a glitch, me too. Oh, look I have a glitch. Oh, Kim too." And so, you both

have our own lists of how that works. But what is it that I want? What do I want? Do

I want a great relationship? Do I want a relationship that's meshing and melting

together? Well then, that's going to require me to look at her goodness, her greatness,

her sweetness and everything that she does that I absolutely love. You manage

your attention. You manage your attention and point your attention on what

matters. I remember hearing a husband and wife tell... Kim and I we were

teaching a class called royalty and romance here in Salt Lake City. It's a

relationship class. And we were teaching this class and a spouse raised their

hand because they had a question. And the person said, "What do I do when just the

typing sound of my spouses fingers on the keyboard of their laptop really

irritates me?" And that was the question. They were wondering what did they do

with that kind of irritation. And they said, "Do I make them leave the room? Do I

make him go to the downstairs? Do I make them put their computer away?"

Wow! That person was sensitive. You can tell that their mind had hooked into too

many things that were wrong to where the very sounds of fingers on a keyboard was

driving them into the levels of irritation. You know your attention span

and your where your attention is going when you're that sensitive. When

something so simple and so insignificant is driving you to want your spouse to

leave the room. We're in charge of our attention span, we're in charge of our

attention and where it's focused. And so, if when you're wondering, "What is this

that's happening between my spouse and I, you got to get a hold of your

head. It's not your spouse, it's you. It's you. Now, for my marriage to make it to 50

years being married and 60 years being married. Because right now, I'm at 27

and wonderful years of being married. I have had to get a hold of my thinking

and steer away from looking at my wife's glitches. And my wife has had to get a

hold of her thinking and steer away from all my glitches. So we can keep an

incredible marriage together. And we have our moments where we point out our

glitches. But they're always there. We're different, we're different. So, maybe have

an intention of how much you love them. And what you're willing to look past.

Anybody can find evidence in their spouse to not be with them. Anybody can.

Anybody can find all the glitches. But it really determines what you look for. You

know, as standing on the edge of a field one time and my dad said, "You know, Kirk?

If you walk out into that field looking for cow poop, you'll find it." I was like,

"Dad, that's that's wise. You're right. yYu go looking for cow poop, you'll find it."

And then he said, "You know, Kirk? If you go out looking for flowers in that field,

you'll find them." And isn't that true? We find exactly what we're looking for. And

so, in this experience, you know, for things to improve, I must change the way

I talk about it and how I see it. And so, if you want your relationship to be

better, it's up to you. If you want to have doubt, you can have doubt. You want

to have concern? You can have concern. You want to have find their glitches? You

can find their glitches. But you're going to create what evidence you decide to

focus on. So, make today a better day. Make it a better day by helping

your spouse with the things they love to do and you mesh and melt that

relationship closer together. Here in Salt Lake City, we have a live event

called Royalty and Romance. And we'd love to see you. We also have other live courses

Strong Relationship With GOD: Ep 75 Soul Reflections: BK Shivani (English Subtitles) - Duration: 29:07.

Greetings and welcome to Awakening With Brahma Kumaris.

Sister Shivani is with us. Welcome, Sister.

Om Shanti.

Om Shanti. Shall we study Murli today?

Definitely. The title of today's Murli (which is God's message) is

Become free of others opinions, thinking about other people and noticing them. Serve other people.

Free yourself from 3 habits pertaining to other people.

And do one thing.

Par-Mat, Par-Chintan and Par- Darshan

Par-Mat means other people's opinions.

Par-Chintan means thinking about other people.

Par-Darshan looking or noticing other people.

Free yourself from these and serve other people.

Just services but don't do the other three.

When do the first three things but do the other one thing.

God whom we lovingly call as Shiv Baba

The Murli says - today Baba is watching how all the children are wasting the time meant for self-transformation.

We want to work on ourselves.

We want to change our Sanskars.

Self-transformation is our aim.

But why are we wasting time?

Everyone wants that our time should be well utilised.

Whether it is self transformation or anything we are doing externally.

Today we all have a common line.

I am too busy, I don't have time.

We all want more time.

Because our time is not always getting utilised properly, it is getting wasted.

Baba says everybody wants their time to be well utilised.

But during the day, sometimes we waste half an hour

Or sometimes 15 minutes or even 5 minutes here and there.

So we keep wasting 30 minutes 15 minutes or 5 minutes.

What is the reason?

There are three reasons why self transformation is either slow or blocked in a majority of people.

What are the three reasons mentioned earlier?

Par-Mat, Par-Chintan and Par- Darshan

First - as we progress along with the God's instructions or knowledge

We mix the opinions of other people.

Shrimat refers to the guidance of

God is an ocean of knowledge. Giving us Gyan is His highest quality.

So the first thing we get from God is Gyan.

The Gyan we get from God is his guidance.

He gives us instructions of what to think and what not to think.

How to speak, how to behave

What to eat and drink, at what time to sleep

God's knowledge is meant to uplift every soul.

If we keep following God's instructions then soul keeps becoming stronger and powerful.

Following God's instructions is right for the soul.

This we have to remember.

The guidance which we get from the rest of the world

We have already taken guidance from the World, so now we need to take it from God

Only then will come back to our originality.

Originality has power, knowledge and everything else.

So God's guidance and knowledge will make the soul perfect.

We all have to remember this

Whenever we need to take a decision in life about what is right for me

What is not right for me

We only need to check one thing - which of the options will increase soul power.

Because once soul power increases, everything else will become fine thereafter.

Many times before we say we say we need to eat this because it is good for health.

Let us drink this because it is written that it is good for our body.

It is possible that something is very good for our body.

Likewise something can be very good for our position.

Something else can be very good for our possession and property.

But is that right for I, the soul?

If it is not right for the Soul then that Karma is not right for me.

But whatever is God's will

It was there even in the past, it is there today and it will be there future also.

Where is if you go to a doctor - today they say you can eat this item, tomorrow they ask us to avoid the same thing.

Maybe that is why God says we should not mix His will with the world's will.

It is a science.

So what happens to science continuously?

Science will change but Baba's will, shall never change.

His will for us is permanent and always right.

It is eternal.

Whereas the will of the world will have confusions, they keep changing, sometimes they improve.

That is why His will is called Shri-mat.

It means the highest and the best will.

Whereas other people's will is called par-mat

Baba says that over a period of time we tend to mix par-mat with Shri-mat.

Once we get Shri-mat or Gyan of God

Once we understand what is right for the soul and what is not right

After that we don't need to take anybody else's opinion.

It might take a some time to implement because that is our journey.

We are on our journey, but once we have understood what is right

We will not have the need of taking anybody else's opinion.

That will mean we still doubt God's will.

Why did we have to take it then from Him?

Very true. And when we start doubting what happens to Soul power?

When we have a doubt how will there be any effect of the Gyan?

That is why there is a line with says - Nishchay Buddhi Vijayanti.

Nishchay Buddhi Vijayanti.

Whenever there is complete faith in our intellect

Victory is guaranteed.

So the whole day we need to check - that we have Shrimat with us.

If we are really confused about what to do and what not to do, recall Gyan

Take Shrimat and you will immediately get the answer of what is to be done.

Baba says if somebody says something

And if you feel that person is good

And you develop faith in that person.

Somebody said something.

And you believe that the person is good

You will have faith in him.

When such a person tells you something

You will feel interested

If whatever you hear is good news

If you keep the faith and listen to it

You accepted it and consumed it.

What you heard might be right and the news might be true.

Not everything will be false.

It could be true but what does Baba want?

Is it good for you to listen to it?

Does Baba desire it?

No.

Why shouldn't I listen to it?

Because we get confused. Suppose I go to a doctor and he prescribes a medicine

I start taking it but if I consult another doctor and take a different medicine

He might not agree with the first doctor's views

And then I go to a third doctor.

An entire lifetime will get spent this way.

One is about points of Gyan which we are listening.

Baba says somebody shares about something with you.

And because you have faith you will listen to it.

You said this person is good so you listened to him

Baba also says that the person is speaking the truth.

He is not lying.

But when he is sharing it with you, you accepted and consumed that information.

You did not cut it and it is a fact also.

But listening to such information

Is it right?

Is it about the information?

It can be any information.

That is just a piece of News or information which somebody is sharing with you.

Is it about what is printed in the newspaper?

Not necessarily but anybody can come and share anything with you.

It can be about anything.

We have seen in so many episodes that we should not keep on filling information.

That is the point.

People keep coming and telling us things.

Baba says that the person might be speaking the truth.

But of what use is it to me?

Any information which is not necessary for us

We should not even take in that information within us.

Waste of thoughts, energy and time.

Baba has mentioned it in the first line also.

That we are not utilising our time productively.

If we are consuming information which isn't useful then we are wasting time.

We don't lose only that duration while we are listening to it

When information goes in, it will affect our perspective.

It will affect our thoughts.

It will come into our behaviour.

We share it with 10 people and it comes into our Karma.

We even call up people and tell them this is what happened.

All these are time wasters.

All this amounts to gossip.

But Baba says that the information is true.

But if it is not of use to you

This is important and to be underlined.

So many happen in the world we only need to take what is useful to us.

Today we say the mind is creating too many thoughts.

We are unable to concentrate.

Thinking too much is affecting our body also.

It is affecting our mental health.

It is weakening the soul. Too many thoughts are because of too much information.

Somebody offered and asked me to take up a very high post in the Government.

I asked whether it will take me to my goal.

It was not aligned to what I wanted.

Otherwise I will just drift away from my path if I take it up.

The path we are on and the purpose of our life

That the soul is to be empowered

The first depleter to it is waste information.

Like Baba says, it is true but it is not useful for us.

I do not need it.

That is why Baba has mentioned all the scenarios

That the person sharing that information with us is also good.

And whatever he is sharing is also the truth.

But is that bit of information useful for you?

If it is not, then does Baba like us to listen to it?

Anything which has no connection with us

We need to check this very deeply.

When we don't have any connection with something

It is just an interesting piece of information

You cannot do anything about it

We need to check these criteria

Something which we have no connection with.

Something which we cannot do anything about.

It's just a bit of interesting information.

You cannot do anything but you just heard it.

That information has entered your intellect anyway.

Did your time get wasted or not?

Baba has used the word 'interesting'.

It could be interesting for a person who is not yet focused on Baba.

For that person other things seem more interesting.

Throughout the day, whether it is news about the world

Whether it is the news we get to listen where we live or where we work

Do you know what happened at office, do you know what he said?

What is going on there, what did he tell him

This is also information.

Even the social media we have today has information.

If we apply all this criteria to that information

Information with which we have no connection

About which we cannot do anything

If we listen to such things we waste the energy of the intellect.

Even if we open WhatsApp or Facebook today

If we observe Facebook today

Somebody is travelling, somebody is having a family meal, somebody is on vacation

All this information is true

None of them are wrong but I have no connection with it.

Information, information, information

It wastes the energy of our intellect.

If you check your WhatsApp messages today

There is a certain percentage where conversations are related to work

Everything else that comes on WhatsApp

The videos, audios, photos and posters

Baba has said all this so many years ago

That we have no relationship with such things.

We have nothing to do with it but it is just an interesting piece of information.

Whatever is happening today Baba has mentioned it years ago.

With whatever information you have no connection at all

We don't even have any connection with what is posted on Facebook.

It is the truth for somebody else.

Somebody will tweet that he is in Shimla, he is here, he is there

I am enjoying this weather.

It is the truth and it is interesting.

But we neither know him nor is that information useful for us.

If we look at it from normal perspective somebody will ask what is wrong in it.

There is nothing wrong in it.

We didn't commit any sin, what is wrong in it?

Listening to information or reading about somebody - what is wrong in doing it?

Overloading of information which is not relevant to us.

Increases the thought process

Influences the thought process

With the perspectives of other people.

Our thoughts get coloured by other people's perspectives.

And in the process the Gyan we studied might get slipped sometimes.

Today if we just underline this for ourselves

Any information we have no connection with

And something which we can do nothing about. If we can do something then it is fine.

But these two criteria.

If we can help somebody as Baba has mentioned earlier - Par-upkaar

Then it is fine.

If we can do something about it we need to listen carefully

Consume that information, work towards it and help.

Today there is a belief system

That being knowledgeable means the person has a lot of information.

The person should read and be aware of everything that is happening in the world.

The other day one sister says to me

If we don't be aware of what is coming in the newspaper or on TV channels

People college intellectually challenged.

That we don't have any information of what is happening in the world.

Today people are aware of what is happening in the world.

But they don't know what is happening in their mind.

They don't know what is happening in their house.

What is going on within ourselves?

What are the kind of thoughts we are creating?

What are the deep emotions filled with anus?

The reason is that we are feeling ourselves with unnecessary information.

Where is our attention?

The more we focus on the outer world

The more we start drifting away from our inner world.

We don't know what is happening in the outer world

Is considered by the society that you are not knowledgeable

Yes but which society?

It is a belief system and we live in that society.

It could be a few people believing that way.

We are living in that society.

Where that is a belief system.

Somebody is well read and well informed.

What about being self realised?

So we need to pay attention there.

We need to keep our focus right.

My attention should be on the seed within.

Even if we have to pay attention to the tree then which tree should I focus on?

The tree of my life.

But whatever we are discussing is relevant told you to somebody who has chosen this path.

If it is a journalist he will continue doing his work.

What is the meaning of - the one who will choose this path?

Spirituality is not a path.

Why not?

Spirituality is not a path.

Spirituality is the way to walk on your path.

Spirituality is not the path.

What is your goal?

Let your roles and responsibilities be anything today.

Whether it is an actor, doctor, businessman, Housewife or a student.

They say this is my path. Spirituality is not a different path.

Spirituality means whatever is your path

The life that you are living

That path will have your family your work place, your friends, your relatives

Or your service - whatever is your path

How do you walk that path? That is spirituality.

Spirituality is not a different road.

Spirituality is the way to walk on the road of your life.

Like home values are to be used to govern, likewise using the right means to walk on your path

Whether I want to become an actor or do a business

Walking the right path

Today we have started considering spirituality to be a separate profession and say - this person is spiritual.

Spirituality is not a separate field.

He is this, she is that, he is spiritual.

Each being, each soul will need to be spiritual if they want to be happy and healthy.

In any case every being is spiritual.

Spiritual means, the right way of thinking and living with spirituality is teaching us

It is not a separate field

It is not meant for a particular age group.

It is not restricted to a few people.

It is for every soul.

Spiritual businessman

Spiritual parent

Spiritual student

It's not student, parent, businessman, and this person is spiritual.

It can also be called righteous.

Right here.

Today if we check for our self, Physical health

Why is it getting affected?

Because our thinking is not spiritual.

Lifestyle is not spiritual.

Our diet is not spiritual.

What is the reason for mental health being affected?

Thinking is not spiritual.

Earlier people would be gauged for intelligence quotient, IQ.

Then it was emotional quotient, EQ

Today people are talking about spiritual quotient

Because if spiritual quotient is strong everything else will automatically be strong.

Spiritual quotient only means right way of thinking.

Physical health will be fine only if we start thinking right.

The mind will be fine if we think right.

Relationships will be beautiful if we think right.

We will be successful in our profession is we think right.

So spirituality cannot be a different path.

Sometimes we say - this person is very spiritual, so all these things are right for him.

We are on this side of life.

It is not about this side or that side.

I feel spirituality teaches us but there are two way to get things done - one is with anger, other is with love.

Which one will you choose?

This makes you choose the right path.

Both the paths maybe right, but what is the effect of love?

Both are not right.

Because in the short term

Right for the result.

You might feel it is right in the short-term because you get the result.

I am talking of the consequences.

Whether you spoke lovingly or created anger, work got done.

But what is happening in the long run?

Happiness is reducing, depression is increasing.

Diseases are increasing.

It didn't happen just because you scolded once.

Nothing will happen just by scolding once.

By scolding once it is only visible that work got done.

People obey you.

Spirituality gives the wisdom of what happens when you use love and what is the outcome with news anchor.

Spirituality is the foundation of your life.

The building of our life stands on that Foundation.

If the foundation is strong that the building will stand erect.

If the foundation is not strong

Even with a slight storm, the building gets shaken.

Spirituality is our foundation and we need to really explain this to us.

Spirituality is not about age

It is not about which phase of life I am in.

Spirituality should be taught to us from nursery.

That's right.

When you teach a child how to walk and speak

Right at that time teach them how to think.

In our country spirituality is a part of our culture so it is already in our genes.

So spirituality is not a separate path.

At any point when somebody is deciding what is right or wrong

We should never say we are on this side of life so we need to do certain things.

Whereas that person is on a spiritual path

There is only one path and important is how do we want to walk on that path.

This is very important

People have created a wrong image of spirituality.

Because what did we equate spirituality with?

What kind of clothes they wear, what profession they choose

This person lives in an Ashram

This person is taken up Sanyas.

Spirituality is not that. A few souls do those things.

They are also rendering a beautiful service.

They are like teachers.

Like teaching as a profession

Only because of you souls decide to teach in schools and colleges, students get knowledge from them.

Similarly few souls who have taken up Sanyas or living in an Ashram

They are giving us Gyan and they are teachers.

They are teachers who share God's knowledge with us.

But spirituality is a way of living our life.

It has nothing to do with the different path a different age group a different field

It is also not something to be chosen as a path, just because there is a challenge that came in life.

So many people ask - what happened in your life that you went in that path?

You went on to the other side, towards spirituality - so what happened in your life?

So spirituality still remains as a different path or direction in life.

But it happens isn't it?

Some people experience such a severe shock in life that they are shaken

It is possible that there is a very big situation that came in your life.

But what is the question that arises?

The question is what happened that you went into that path?

As if you are so disheartened that you just left everything behind and went elsewhere.

It is not a separate path.

We really need to keep on telling this to ourselves.

That is the only path and there is no other path.

Just like how Physical health is not a separate path.

In Olden times after the age of 50 people would spend their life in spirituality.

After they finish their Brahmacharya and after handling business they would say it is enough.

After the age of 50

It cannot be after 50.

Again, it cannot be.

It should be right from day one.

What it was is - life was divided into phases

That you will study up to this age

You will manage your family up to this age

You will retire and handover things after this age.

It gives Mukti and a sense of detachment.

But detachment is not for after the age of 50.

Detachment is not after 50.

Detachment should be from our ego.

We have to be taught from day 1.

If we spent 50 years of life with Ego and everything associated with ego.

How did those 50 years go?

And after that we said - okay, now detachment.

It's not possible and not easy also.

So it is not phases or age to say - spirituality after this age.

Spirituality means health of the soul.

Sister let us continue the Murli in the next episode

Spirituality means health of the soul.

Thank you so much.

Om Shanti.

Om Shanti.

Donald Trump Jr. and Kimberly Guilfoyle have been a couple for five months and they're ready for Americans to know they're serious

In their first-ever TV interview as a couple, they told DailyMailTV that they have date nights and nicknames, and they're all too aware that people wonder where their relationship is headed

The exclusive conversation in Montana happened between a nighttime rally in Bozeman and an afternoon fundraiser – target shooting with sniper rifles in barren-hilled back country – both to benefit Republican U

S. Senate candidate Matt Rosendale.Trump Jr. took his turn, hitting a red diamond-shaped metal target placed a full mile away

He told the shooting party that he hoped the diamond didn't give Guilfoyle any ideas

'With her around that could be expensive,' he joked, saying later: 'It was the first time I ever called a hit a miss!'Guilfoyle said she would have given Trump Jr

a run for his money if she hadn't injured her hand days earlier – playing trampoline dodgeball with her son and her boyfriend's kids

The outspoken political pair also spoke about the #MeToo movement and the Brett Kavanaugh Supreme Court saga in the interview, which airs Monday and Tuesday

Guilfoyle, a 49-year-old former criminal prosecutor and Fox News Channel co-host, reflected on Kavanaugh's Senate confirmation hearings, and said while a fact-based investigation should guide any outcome, Americans should always give sexual assault accusers a fair hearing

'It's very tough thirty five years later,' she said of accuser Christine Blasey Ford's 1980s-era claims, 'but it doesn't mean it should be ignored

'Trump Jr., 40, had a more personal take.'I've got boys. I've got girls. And when I see what's going on it's scary,' he said

Asked whether he's more concerned for his sons' future or his daughters', he didn't skip a beat

'Right now I'd say my sons,' the father of five said. 'I mean, I want to bring my daughters up to be tough [and] every situation is different, but I would hope that they would act if something terrible like that happened

' The president's son echoed his girlfriend, saying that victims 'have to be able to come out and be believed

'But in a subtle slap at Ford, whose story he sees as the product of political motives, he added: 'There has to be credibility behind it

'   Trump Jr. threw a shoulder at Senate Democrats, saying that when 'the other side weaponizes' sexual misconduct allegations, 'it really diminishes the real claims

'He and Guilfoyle have been inseparable since April 25, six weeks after Vanessa Trump, Don Jr

's wife of 12 years, filed for an uncontested divorce. They typically appear at political events with Guilfoyle firing up a Trump-friendly crowd before a local GOP candidate speaks – and then introduces the headliner, Don Jr

The political twosome, on their way to becoming a new Republican 'it' couple, are traveling the country stumping in remote places like Montana and North Dakota where they've spent time hunting and fishing together

Trump Jr. said they marked five months together 'on a campaign stop in North Carolina

''It was very romantic,' he chuckled. 'Worst boyfriend ever.' Seeing their chemistry up close is a study in public displays of affection – complete with terms of endearment

'I think there's oftentimes, a "Pooh Bear" gets thrown around,' Trump Jr. said.'This is so embarrassing

My man-cred goes right down.'Guilfoyle confirmed rumors that she calls him 'Junior Mint' and 'Babe

'The DailyMailTV joint interview came as the Kavanaugh case hung silentlly in the air, seeping into conversations in all 50 states and beyond

A Relationship-Based Approach to Working With Military Families - Ellen R. DeVoe, Ph.D. - Duration: 1:20.

Strong families is, it's a relationship-based program. And our sort of read of

the literature and also our clinical experience suggests that relationship-

based work is the way to go with, well, with lots of families but particularly

with young children. And so we're different from other parenting programs

in that we don't focus on skills. So we're not teaching parents how to do a

behavior modification plan or a sticker chart or, you know, when to use timeouts.

We're more trying to really support parents and developing more reflective capacity

around what's happening with their children and what's happening with

themselves. And so if you think about a service member coming home from, you know,

combat tour who may have been exposed to a lot of trauma - they have their own sort

of internal dynamics going on, and then they're trying to figure out how to

relate to a toddler who might be having a tantrum. And so we try to help parents

kind of understand developmentally where, like, what a sort of range of behavior

and emotions might be for little people. And then we try to help them sort of

make the story around the deployment and the military service.

When To Get Into A Committed Relationship? - Duration: 4:35.

Hi, welcome back. Today we're going to talk about relationships and specifically,

when is the best time to get into a committed relationship? So, it's a pretty

common question for individuals to wonder when is the best time to get into

a committed relationship. When am I ready to take that step? Let's consider why I

would have that question? And first of all look at "Well, why would I want to be

in a committed relationship?" Everything we do in life we do for a reason. So, if I

feel this desire or I'm in a relationship with somebody, I've met

somebody and we've been getting to know each other. And we're at that place where

we're wondering you know, are we ready to take that next step? --To be committed to

each other. Well, let's look at why would I want to do that? So, what is the reason

for wanting to be in a committed relationship? Is it because I'm lonely? Is

it because I don't feel very good about myself? So I lack self-confidence. And

when I'm with this person or around this person, I feel better about myself. Maybe

if I'm in high school, so in my teenage years, it may be that if this person

likes me then that means something about me. If I'm in a place where I get my

value externally and I'm really concerned about what other people think

of me and I feel better about myself when others seem to think positively

about me, it may be that if I am in a relationship with the quarterback of the

football team or I'm in a relationship with the head cheerleader or whatever it

is that we tend to value and that others tend to

value, then that means that, "I'm okay". Is that true? So, we have to look at our

beliefs because we know that our beliefs drive our behavior. You know, if our

beliefs are based on things that are not true then when we behave in accordance

with those beliefs, the outcomes that we get are not really going to give us what

we want. So, if I am entering into a relationship, a committed relationship

because I believe that that's going to create more value for me as an

individual. That, that relationship is going to make me be okay,

it's not going to work. It will not give me what it is that I'm seeking for. If I am

entering into a committed relationship because I'm lonely and I think that

being in that relationship is going to change my being lonely, is that true? Have

you ever been in a relationship and still felt lonely? We have to remember

that our circumstances don't change who we are or don't change our emotional

state. So, being in a committed relationship really isn't going to give

us anything that we don't already have. So, when is the best time to get into a

committed relationship? Well, really the best time is when I don't feel like I

need to. So, when I'm in a place in my life where I'm happy with my life and

I'm happy with what I've got going on in my life, I'm comfortable with myself,

that's the best time to get into a into a committed relationship.

So, the answer to the question is when is the best time to get into a committed

relationship? The answer is when we don't really need to .When we don't feel the

desire to do so. Thanks for joining us again today. If you want to know more

What Kind of ROI are You Getting on Your Relationships? - Duration: 5:36.

- What kind of return on investment are you getting

on the relationships you invest your time

and your life force in?

At first this might sound kind of selfish.

"But, Wade, this is all about what can I get out of things,

"and you know what, Wade, I'm a giver.

"I like to give in life."

Okay, I understand that.

But in all of our relationships,

there needs to be a give and take,

a giving and receiving if we want things to be good

and over the long run become better.

There are certain relationships

we kind of have to participate in.

So, as you're a kid,

you might have to have a teacher you don't like.

If you're an adult,

you might have a boss that you don't like

and you have to make the relationship work

as best as possible.

And that's more than understandable.

But when you're on your free time,

when you have time to live life on your terms,

are you investing that time with people

and with groups of people that you most enjoy?

Are you spending time with the people

that do activities that you like?

Maybe you have some friends that are into hiking or biking.

Maybe another group is into personal growth

or exercise or something like that.

Overall, if you want to work a 4-Day Work Week

and have a lifestyle that's similar to that,

we first have to figure out

how to make the most of the free time you already have.

So there's a certain amount of time you have to work.

And separate from that,

there's a certain amount of choice time

where you can do what you like with that time.

If you can't do what you want

or if you're not investing that time in the way you like,

chances are you're not going to focus on

and really get centered on making more time available

'cause you're already not doing really a good job

with the time you already have.

No different than if you have a certain amount of money

that you make and you're constantly wasting it,

you're probably not going to be as motivated to make more money

because you know you're going to waste that anyway

and you're not going to get to your goals.

So think about very specifically the types of relationships.

What do they hold in common?

Is it a certain group of people?

Does it center around a certain activity that you enjoy?

Do these people have a certain mindset?

Are they happy people?

Are they focused on growth?

What are they about?

How do they speak to other people?

Are they kind?

And notice those patterns and see what types of people

that are some of the favorite people

that you like to hang out with or be with or learn from

and write down the names of a few of those people

and start thinking about where you can get

to meet more people like that.

Now, if this is your wife or your husband,

you don't need to be meeting

another wife or another husband.

But this is simply, of course, for friends

and people outside of romantic relationships,

clarifying point there

for those of y'all who hold me to that,

where you're making sure that you're seeing

who are the people that you most enjoy being around?

Similarly, write down the characteristics

of the relationships that are not as fun for you.

Now, I want to be clear here.

I'm not looking to put down people.

Everybody's at a certain point on their path,

their journey, their evolution, however you want to word that.

There are certainly people that are more evolved

or nicer or happier than I am,

and there's certainly people who are less evolved,

less happier, whatever word you want to use.

I'm not God.

You're probably not God either.

But overall, people that when you look at where they're at

or, even better, what they're aiming for,

you say, "You know what?

"Where they're aiming for is not where I'm aiming for."

It's not even a matter of higher and lower.

It's they're going over here.

I'm looking to go over there.

And notice the trends and the patterns of those people.

Are they happy?

Do they value the things you value?

Do they treat people in a way

that you believe in or find kind?

And make a list of those characteristics.

It's not as important to make a list

of the names of the people.

We're not looking to single people out or focus on people

or become judgmental or holier than thou.

But we do want to be able to look at

where do we want to put our most precious asset,

our time, our life force?

Where do we want to invest that?

As we do that more, we're going to find a better return

on our investments in the relationships we have.

I hope you find this helpful.

If you want to go deeper into this conversation,

go to 4dayworkweek.com

and check out the 4-Day Apprentice program.

This is a program where we focus

on helping you make the most out of your relationships,

your time investments, your money investments,

and the material possessions you own.

It's the first step in getting clear

about how you want your life to be

by shaping your life outside of work first

as similarly as possible in an alignment

with somebody that works a 4-Day Work Week.

In other words, making the most out of the money

and the time and the relationships you already have.

And then later you can move deeper into what it means

to then create your own 4-Day Work Week.

This 4-Day Apprentice program is good for you

whether you are an entrepreneur already

or whether you're aspiring to be one in the future.

So I hope you find this helpful.

As always, look forward to helping you make more money

in less time doing what you do best.

Thank you.
