Adisheveled Kevin Spacey was spotted in public for the first time in over a year on Friday

The disgraced double Oscar winner was seen emerging from a rehearsal space and making his way into a waiting minivan while dressed in sagging wind pants, unlaced shoes, a makeshift balaclava and an undershirt that strained to fit over his protruding gut

He then topped the look off with an unnecessary scarf.Spacey, 59, carried two books in his arms as well as a black backpack with a red and blue pencil, suggesting that the actor may have been in rehearsal

The actor quickly made his way into a waiting car that was almost completely hidden by a green minivan before racing away with a man who looked to be his manager and constant companion Evan Lowenstein

In those photos, obtained exclusively by DailyMail.com, the actor was seen exercising at the Meadows Rehab Centre in Wickenburg, Arizona

He was joined by Lowenstein at that time too, who prior to joining Spacey's team managed to find brief fame with his brother as the pop duo Evan & Jaron

The duo managed to score a single top 10 hit in 2000 with their saccharine single Crazy for This Girl, which was released the same year that Spacey won his second Oscar for American Beauty

There are currently no projects lined up in Spacey's future, save a scheduled appearance in Nantucket District Court next month to be arraigned on a charge of Indecent Assault and Battery

His lawyer filed a motion however on Friday asking the judge in that case to excuse his client from his own arraignment, with the spotlight-seeking Spacey suddenly hoping to keep a low profile after being accused of trying to 'jack off' a drunk teenager

The prosecution hit back at that request, demanding that the actor appear in person

Spacey did manage to start off his day with a minor victory in the case.Audio that was released from a hearing last week revealed that the young man who claims he was sexually assaulted by Spacey back in 2016 at a Nantucket bar did not film evidence of the actor groping him or touching him in an inappropriate manner

In a court hearing on December 20, the actor's lawyer tore apart a claim that there was damning video evidence after reading it in the police report filed by State Trooper Gerald Donovan

The claims in that report were all based on interviews with the alleged victim and eyewitnesses at the bar that night

In that report, Donovan writes: '[Redacted] said his girlfriend did not believe him so that's when he snapchatted the video

'Hiding out: Spacey has been incredibly careful to stay under the radar ever since Anthony Rapp first accused him of sexual misconduct last year Wrinkling time: Spacey opted for some extremely fitted pieces, most notably his skintight shirt and hideaway headgear Usual suspect: A second probe is currently underway in Los Angeles after an allegation was brought to the attention of the district attorney in August Victim shaming: Spacey's lawyer has got to work trying to discredit the 18-year-old boy accusing the actor of sexual assault Asking for it: In a court hearing last week, it was stressed that the alleged victim was drunk at the time, though no mention was made that Spacey allegedly bought those drinks That claim, which was submitted with the criminal complaint and filed in Nantucket District Court, led to multiple outlets reporting that there was evidence of the alleged assault, but as Donovan himself testified last week that is not the case

'What the video shows is a person's hand make contact with the shirt, correct?' Spacey's lawyer Alan Jackson is heard asking in audio obtained by the Boston Globe

'Yes,' responded Donovan.'Okay.Not the -- any body part,' asked Jackson.'Correct, you don't see any body parts,' confirmed Donovan

The case stems from an incident that allegedly occurred in the early morning hours of July 8, 2016 at The Club Car in Nantucket

The then-18-year-old-man accused Spacey of trying to 'jack him off' after the Oscar winner allegedly unzipped this fly, stuck his hand in his pants and began to rub his penis

Jackson questioned why the victim allowed himself to be assaulted by the actor for three minutes, stating: 'That's an incredibly long time to have a strange man's hands in your pants

'He also used the hearing to address the fact that the alleged victim lied about his age, claiming he was 23, and was drinking heavily when the alleged assault took place

'He may have been so drunk that he was black out drunk, but he didn't black out at the Club Car, he may have blacked out once he got home,' said Jackson while Donovan was on the stand

A spokesperson for the Los Angeles District Attorney's office revealed that a probe into Spacey's alleged criminal behavior that was launched back in August is still ongoing at this time

A previous investigation was ultimately dismissed by the DA.Jackson is familiar with the workings of that office, having spent close to two decades as a Deputy Assistant for the same office before going into private practice

A spokesperson for the organization spoke with DailyMail.com and said: 'A sex assault case was presented yesterday to our office by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department involving Kevin Spacey

It remains under review.'This news comes a year after the two-time Oscar winner was accused of sexually assaulting a then-underage Anthony Rapp at his Manhattan apartment

Spacey responded by coming out as gay and entering a rehab facility in Arizona, where he remained for weeks

The incident that spurred Spacey's downfall allegedly took place at Spacey's apartment in 1986 when the actor invited Rapp to a party while they were both appearing on Broadway

In an interview with Buzzfeed, Rapp said that he found himself alone in the apartment at the end of the night and that Spacey then began to make his move

'He picked me up like a groom picks up the bride over the threshold.But I don't, like, squirm away initially, because I'm like, 'What's going on?' And then he lays down on top of me,' said Rapp, who detailed being pressed up against the bed before being able to squirm away and ultimately leave the house without being assaulted by Spacey

Spacey made the decision to come out of the closet in a statement apologizing to actor Anthony Rapp, who said in an interview that the actor attempted to sexually assault him in 1986, an incident Spacey says he does not remember

How Trump's EPA is changing the public health benefits around mercury - Duration: 7:17.

WILLIAM BRANGHAM: The Trump administration is moving to partially roll back yet another

Obama era environmental rule, this time on the mercury emissions that come out of the

stacks of coal-fired power plants.

The Environmental Protection Agency announced the proposal today, saying that the cost of

these regulations outweighs the health benefits.

Mercury can cause birth defects, brain damage and learning disabilities in children.

Under President Obama, the EPA had said power plants must limit mercury and other pollutants,

and it justified those rules by saying the changes would prevent thousands of deaths

and save tens of billions of dollars.

But President Trump's EPA doesn't agree with those calculations at all, and it said utilities

won't have to comply with those rules in the future.

Juliet Eilperin of The Washington Post has been covering the EPA throughout the Trump

administration is back on the "NewsHour" again, which always makes me happy.

Nice to see you.

JULIET EILPERIN, The Washington Post: Great to see too.

WILLIAM BRANGHAM: So, let's go back in time.

In 2011, the Obama administration and his EPA puts out these rules.

What was it -- this was considered one of Obama's signature environmental moves.

What did those rules do back then?

JULIET EILPERIN: Those rules mandated that power companies reduce the mercury that came

-- come out of the smokestacks of power plants by 90 percent over the course of five years.

And so that's what was set in motion.

There were a series of lawsuits about this, questioning, again, how they came to this

conclusion.

But that's really what was -- what was triggered by the Obama administration and accounts for

why we have seen such a decline in mercury from power pants across the country.

WILLIAM BRANGHAM: So, those rules, at least for their -- if they were intended to reduce

mercury, they worked.

JULIET EILPERIN: They succeeded.

And by 2016, the industry was fully in compliance with what Obama had set out to do in 2011.

WILLIAM BRANGHAM: Remind us again why we care about mercury getting into the year.

JULIET EILPERIN: It's a powerful neurotoxin.

There are also other hazardous air pollutants that are emitted along with mercury.

And so, again, as you mentioned, what happens is, over time, it can accumulate, for example,

in fish, which we eat, and ultimately poses the greatest risks to unborn children and

infants as their brains are developing.

And so it's something that obviously the medical community is very concerned about.

WILLIAM BRANGHAM: You mentioned at the time that there were lawsuits.

Those were from the industry saying, we don't want to comply?

JULIET EILPERIN: Yes.

Both the industry and a number of states that were allied with industry challenged this.

One of the main issues that they raised was the idea that, when the Obama EPA originally

calculated it, they said it would cost roughly $9.6 billion a year for the industry to install

these pollution controls, and it would really only save -- the limits on mercury would only

translate to $6 million a year in health benefits.

WILLIAM BRANGHAM: Nine billion vs. six million?

JULIET EILPERIN: Six million.

However, they said, well, if you take into account that, by cleaning up these power plants,

they will also reduce soot and nitrogen oxide, pollutants that are linked to heart and lung

disease, that really what we're talking about are public health benefits in the range of

$37 billion to $90 billion a year.

And so it's -- the benefits far outweigh the costs.

WILLIAM BRANGHAM: I see.

So that was the Obama administration's justification on the cost-benefit analysis.

The Trump EPA comes in and says, that was the wrong calculation, right?

Am I understanding that that's their -- that's their concern?

JULIET EILPERIN: Absolutely.

That's what they have said.

For example, the acting administrator for the EPA, Andrew Wheeler, has referred to this

as fuzzy math.

He said that, look, we're just -- we're just trying to change the way we count things.

The fact that you're cleaning up these other pollutants, these fine particles that lead

to heart and lung disease, those are what you would call co-benefits, they are incidental,

and they're not directly tied to mercury.

And so we should exclude those altogether.

And it very much changes the math, as you can see.

WILLIAM BRANGHAM: They're not saying that those co-benefits aren't actually benefits,

though, right?

JULIET EILPERIN: Right.

They're not.

They're saying, we're not saying that those don't exist.

And we're not saying that we might try to reduce those kinds of fine particles and other

pollutions in other rules.

But for the purposes of this rule, they're saying, we're not going to count them in the

equation.

WILLIAM BRANGHAM: So is industry happy about this move?

JULIET EILPERIN: That's a very interesting question.

What industry is very clear on is, they want to keep the Obama era rule in place, because

they have already spent the money to clean up their plants.

And they would consider it a competitive disadvantage if suddenly things were reversed and they

take those scrubbers off.

So the fascinating thing is -- and we reached out, for example, to the biggest trade association.

And what they said is, essentially, they understand that EPA can review these rules, but the most

important thing is the rules stay in place.

Really, this is much more about changing the calculus going forward from the perspective

of Trump officials.

WILLIAM BRANGHAM: So interesting.

As we have talked with you many times on the show, this is obviously part of the much larger

rollback of environmental era -- Obama era environmental rules.

When you look back on the year, the two years of the Trump EPA, what else do you point to

as other signature rollbacks?

JULIET EILPERIN: Well, there are a number of them.

But I would say, in terms of some of the most high-profile EPA reversals that we have had

since Trump has taken office, at the top of the list would be the repeal of the Clean

Power Plan.

This was, you know, essentially this...

WILLIAM BRANGHAM: That was the omnibus sort of Obama plan.

JULIET EILPERIN: The signature Obama effort to deal with climate change by curbing the

greenhouse gases that come out of power plants.

And so at this point, the EPA has published its -- proposed its own version of this, which

is far less stringent.

Then you also have the fact that they have frozen fuel-efficiency standards for cars

and light trucks, again, a -- one arguably equally significant climate rule that came

out of the Obama administration.

And then, again, just in the past several weeks, we have seen a rollback of the waters

of the U.S. rule.

This is an extremely wonky rule, but very significant, that essentially defines what

waters are protected in the United States from pollution, from being drained.

And that's another really sweeping regulatory rollback we have seen out of this EPA.

WILLIAM BRANGHAM: Lastly, we know that Scott Pruitt, the former EPA chief, has left, and

now Andrew Wheeler is the acting chief.

Do we expect any shift in policy with that shift at the top?

JULIET EILPERIN: So, what I would say is that you will see a few of the most controversial

initiatives that Scott Pruitt pushed being sidelined under this new EPA administrator,

things like doing a public debate over whether climate change was caused by human activity,

or one particularly controversial proposal which had to do with easing pollution controls

on diesel freight trucks.

So, a few real outlier things, but, for the most part, what we're seeing from Andrew Wheeler

and should expect in the coming couple of years is that he would pursue many of these

same deregulatory initiatives that have been the hallmark of the Trump era.

Public uncertainty remains over Jehovah's Witnesses' conscientious objection of military service - Duration: 3:08.

After months of discussions and public hearings, South Korea's Defense Ministry announced Friday,

its alternative options for conscientious objectors,... who refuse the nation's mandatory

military service of about 20 months.

Under the plan, they will serve at correctional facilities like prisons for 36 months,...

starting from 2020, after the bill is put to a vote at the parliament early next year.

This has been one of the major issues regarding the nation's mandatory conscription for some

time.

Oh Soo-young sheds light on why such a plan is long overdue.

Since childhood, Seoul-based attorney Baek Jong-keon was prepared to go to prison.

As a Jehovah's Witness, he spent six months on trial and 14 months behind bars,... choosing

to serve time rather than the country's military.

It was a choice that led to his bar registration being cancelled and put his marriage on hold.

But this year, Baek has been looking forward to a brighter future for other conscientious

objectors, many of whom he's been trying to release over the years.

The supreme court last month made a historic ruling recognizing conscience or religious

beliefs as a justifiable reason to refuse military duties.

Only an estimated nine people remain in prison for conscientious objection, down from the

hundreds seen in recent years.

"It's as though our cloak of shame has been removed.

More than the time in prison, the social stigma sticks the most -- being perceived as a criminal

and an evader of duty.

Personally, I don't think the length of alternative service matters.

It just shouldn't be military-related.

I hope we can contribute to social areas that our fellow Koreans need.

The constitutional court, in June this year, called on the government to draft alternative

means of service for conscientious objectors.

But the conditions have been the subject of heated debate.

International observers have urged authorities to ensure the alternative service isn't punitive,

calling for a maximum of around 27 months,... or one-point-five times the length that the

ROK army soldiers serve,... as well as allowing commuting.

"The human rights committee's position from 1999 which is essentially that it should be

essentially same length as military service and any extra length needs to be based on

objective and reasonable criteria so we hold to that standard."

However, some local experts and members of the public have expressed caution.

"Given South Korea's unique social and security situation, one-point-five times the military

service is widely considered short and lenient compared to the daily hardships endured by

conscripted men.

This could undermine fairness, and even cause a surge in the number of conscientious objectors.

We can eventually reduce the alternative service term, but we shouldn't set the bar too low

from the start."

A Gallup survey from 2016 shows most Koreans do not sympathize with conscientious objection.

However, seven in ten people believe an alternative system is needed for the objectors.

AJ Pritchard on being 'mobbed' in public as fans berate 'loser attackers' - News Live - Duration: 3:00.

AJ Pritchard spoke about being "mobbed" in public before being beaten up in a nightclub attack.

The 23-year-old's interview came to light as Strictly Come Dancing fans took to Twitter to berate the "loser attackers" who reportedly targeted AJ and brother Curtis because of their fame.

Sources told The Sun On Sunday the eight-strong gang zeroed in on pro dancer Curtis and AJ after recognising them in Nantwich's Nakatacha club.

Witnesses said the brawl turned into something "out of the wild west" and Curtis was left with such extensive injuries he will need emergency surgery to his knee. He has also been forced to quit Ireland's version of Strictly called Dancing With The Stars.

Before he was attacked AJ spoke about being mobbed in public - but said he only had a great reaction from fans/

During promotional work for Celebrity Hunted, he said: "I get recognised, constantly! We had to go into a car park to try and get a lift and got mobbed which goes against everything the show doesn't want you to do.

"We had a queue of people wanting selfies, and were begging the people taking them to not put them up online to give away our location.

"Thankfully as far as I know, none of them did!"

Fans and celebrities have taken to Twitter to question why a eight strong gang would pick on the two dancers.

James Jordan led the rage, tweeting: "My thoughts are with @Aj11Ace and his brother @CurtisPritchard after '8' guys decided to attack them in a night club over the Christmas period.

"So it takes 8 of you to beat up 2 of the nicest people in our business. Real tough guys! I hope Karma comes back to get you! Idiots!"

Another fan said: "I'm so done with the world. What an absolute disgrace. Its a SAD time when you cant even go on a night out. Wishing a speedy recovery to both Curtis and AJ." One Strictly fan begged the police to take action: "I've just seen what's happened to AJ Pritchard and his brother Curtis I hope they catch the pr**ks that beat them."

A spokesman for the brothers said: "AJ and Curtis were assaulted in an unprovoked attack. Curtis is to undergo an emergency operation to correct damage to his knee. AJ received bruising to his face, arms, body and legs."

Police said four victims had been taken to hospital for treatment and that they'd all since been discharged.

A 20-year-old man from Crewe was arrested on suspicion of assault. He has been released under investigation pending further inquiries.

Friday we upload real stories from real students, the mistakes they made, and most

importantly how to avoid them. Here we go. One of the strangest parts about my job

is that I work with people from all over the world, and many times I have no idea

about anything about their language, so in order to be able to help students

structure an idea, I need to imagine the sequence that they're explaining, because

then I can kinda guess what they're going to say. For example, if a student is

talking about going to a park, and they say I was walking, and I saw a ___. I know

they're going to say something like a tree, a person, a dog and most likely

they're not going to say something like a dinosaur, it would not be logical

except if you are like in a movie, but you see my point.

So when us teachers, we visualize what the person is saying, can you imagine if

a person says something extremely graphic? We just sit there, and go oh dear,

dear, because we already saw it in our minds. So this really nice student from

Moldova was telling me about his picnic the day before with his wife, and he's

telling me all about the different activities, and then he looked at the

camera and said: "I ate my wife". You what? okay. Well I don't know what happens Moldovan Public Parks

but in Canada well, we can't eat people. Now, what he really wanted to say is that you have

to eat an object and connect it to a person using for example with: I ate with

my wife. Big difference. So for those of you that

don't guess what eating a person means, it just basically means that he's

a cannibal, or in the case of a woman we might be talking about oral sex, and this

is another mistake sometimes people from France do because they will say instead

of hate, they will say ate, and I remember another student who also ate

her boss, and she meant she hated her boss. So remember hate your boss. As

Sources told The Sun On Sunday the eight-strong gang zeroed in on pro dancer Curtis and AJ after recognising them in Nantwich's Nakatacha club.

Witnesses said the brawl turned into something "out of the wild west" and Curtis was left with such extensive injuries he will need emergency surgery to his knee. He has also been forced to quit Ireland's version of Strictly called Dancing With The Stars.

Before he was attacked AJ spoke about being mobbed in public - but said he only had a great reaction from fans/

During promotional work for Celebrity Hunted, he said: "I get recognised, constantly! We had to go into a car park to try and get a lift and got mobbed which goes against everything the show doesn't want you to do.

"We had a queue of people wanting selfies, and were begging the people taking them to not put them up online to give away our location.

"Thankfully as far as I know, none of them did!"

Fans and celebrities have taken to Twitter to question why a eight strong gang would pick on the two dancers.

James Jordan led the rage, tweeting: "My thoughts are with @Aj11Ace and his brother @CurtisPritchard after '8' guys decided to attack them in a night club over the Christmas period.

"So it takes 8 of you to beat up 2 of the nicest people in our business. Real tough guys! I hope Karma comes back to get you! Idiots!"

Another fan said: "I'm so done with the world. What an absolute disgrace. Its a SAD time when you cant even go on a night out. Wishing a speedy recovery to both Curtis and AJ." One Strictly fan begged the police to take action: "I've just seen what's happened to AJ Pritchard and his brother Curtis I hope they catch the pr**ks that beat them."

A spokesman for the brothers said: "AJ and Curtis were assaulted in an unprovoked attack. Curtis is to undergo an emergency operation to correct damage to his knee. AJ received bruising to his face, arms, body and legs."

Police said four victims had been taken to hospital for treatment and that they'd all since been discharged.

A 20-year-old man from Crewe was arrested on suspicion of assault. He has been released under investigation pending further inquiries.
