iOS 12 Public Beta Installation Sensation - Krazy Ken's Tech Misadventures - Duration: 24:19.

Okay, that didn't do anything.

Cars maybe, that's not a car.

Settings, where is the settings app?

Eh, I got this.

Oh, okay so I know how to close an app.

I've reached my time limit on app store.

I'm in Safari.

I officially have no idea what I'm doing.

(upbeat techno music)

Hey guys, how you all doing?

Really?

That's great.

You know what, I was doing great earlier.

You know, just chilling, relaxing,

and then I found out iOS 12 public beta is available

so of course since I'm a slave to the Krazy Ken Curse,

I have to do something about it in a tech video log

and get off my couch from watching

The Amazing World of Gumball

and leave my s'mores behind to entertain you folks.

So let's get started.

We're gonna install the iOS 12 public beta today

on an iPad Air 2.

I enrolled in the public beta program

I think quite a while ago

and it looks like the page has been officially updated

for iOS 12 so now is the time to do this.

We're gonna back up the data, install the profile,

and hopefully get that public beta on there.

All right, oh, first try, that was nice.

So I back my iPad up to iCloud regularly.

It just does it every night,

but for something like this it's actually recommended

to have an archived local back up.

So that'll be our first step.

There's iTunes jumping like a jack rabbit in the dock.

Okay well I'm not gonna install another version

of iOS 11 because we're gonna install 12.

This year we put a 12 on the box.

So yeah here's my iCloud automatic back up.

We're gonna change that to this computer

and we're gonna encrypt it, set the password.

Oh and it automatically started.

Okay, so we're gonna let that finish first

and then we'll get to more of the fun stuff.

We wanna make sure we have something to go back to

in case shit hits the fan.

Never before has the screen radiated

with so much excitement.

You wanna watch all 20 minutes of this?

Just kidding, yeah, the estimated time remaining

has been bouncing around a little bit,

but what can I say?

It's transferring at USB two speed.

(laughs)

Yeah, about 20 minutes remaining.

You've got to think of something to do during this time,

so I'm open to suggestions. I did just subscribe to Hulu

and I have a 192 unwatched episodes

of the Amazing World of Gumball

and that might take about

20 minutes to finish, I'm not sure.

Also I have Kill la Kill, this is the subbed version.

I might wanna try with the dubbed version though.

I'm sorry, I'm a dubbed guy so don't hate me.

But anywhozzle, let's see how much did that pass, oh.

Partly cloudy, it's 79 degrees, the high today forecast.

I mean, that's some pretty cool stuff, you know?

but for my iPad anyway you can see

we have some more categories popularizing

the popsicle stick there and I can look at just today

we have our categories< creativity,

entertainment, social networking,

but I can also look at the last seven days.

Here's the report for every single day.

I can press and hold and it can tell me

the totals for each day.

It tells me the weekly total down here

and most used apps are sort of down here with the times.

So that is really cool.

It even shows you the pick up time.

Like how many times you pick up your device per day.

Now here it says, it even averages out.

I pick up my phone once every 17 minutes

which two things wrong with that,

one this is not a phone, it's an iPad

and the other thing wrong with

is that can't be true because I was gone most of the day

Unless it's pulling information, you know what?

I wonder if it's pulling information from my phone

even though my phone is not listed here

and even though my phone is not running iOS 12,

I wonder if it's picking up data

because Wednesday June 27th,

the first time I used my iPad was now.

Is that suppose to happen?

You guys in the community,

tell me if it's reading data from non-iOS 12 devices.

This is also cool down here.

It'll show you notification frequency.

Around 14 per day.

Again, I'm not sure how accurate this stuff is

'cause I'm not sure what it's reading from

and it is a beta but it would make sense

that something like a chatting application

would have a higher frequency of notifications.

You know what?

I'm looking at this and these

bars are looking pretty symmetrical here.

So I was at work (laughs) during this time,

so there's no way I could of been

picking up my iPad but I think it's counting pick up time

as notifications because when notifications come through,

the screen wakes up and

that's probably why these mirror each other.

I don't know if that's suppose to happen on purpose

or if it's a bug.

It is only a public beta so that's my guess for now.

That kind of skews the accuracy.

I hope they fix that.

Okay, let's try to use this thing.

Ugh, I still can't use these gestures.

Now I'm starting to understand

why people were not liking them.

I've heard some complaints, but hey,

this is the first public beta.

I'm sure they will possibly maybe fix it.

So I was going through some other features

they can maybe test like group FaceTime

but I have no friends, so I can't do that.

Group notifications, well I don't have friends,

so I won't get notifications so I can't test that.

The new Animoji stuff.

Well I don't have an iPhone X, so I can't test that.

The AR stuff, well I don't really like AR

for most things so I can't test that.

So that brings me down to, well,

I wanted to test out the series shortcuts thing

'cause that sounded cool.

I go to more shortcuts.

Earlier it said no results,

now it just gives me the cartwheel of death

and I don't know.

Wasn't there a shortcuts editor?

I couldn't find that app anywhere,

so I actually don't know how to make shortcuts.

Let's maybe ask Siri.

Hey, how do I make a shortcut?

- [Siri] Shortcuts let us conjure up

new time saving tricks together.

And you get to pick the magic words.

You can get all the details on Apple.com.

- [Krazy Ken] Oh well okay, well let's find out together.

I mean, maybe the feature isn't fully implemented yet.

I saw it demoed during WWDC.

I've reached my time limit on app store.

Well, I'm not in the app store, I'm in Safari

and why is this still showing me my tabs?

And I only put time limits on entertainment

so I am very confused as to what's happening here.

So I'm just gonna ignore, ignore.

Ignore, that's an inaccurate time limit.

I don't know what you're doing.

I like the little hourglass animation.

Let's see, that's privacy features.

Yes, Siri can now intelligently (murmuring).

So yeah, you can make your own shortcuts

with the new shortcuts app,

but I don't see that anywhere.

So I'm guessing that's still being worked on.

So yeah, that's a bit of a bummer.

If anyone else got that to work, let me know.

I really wished I could of demoed that.

So, we'll just ask Siri a random question.

- [Siri] Please don't make me divide by zero,

that would be like me asking you to grow a third arm.

- [Krazy Ken] Well, jokes on you, I already did that.

Wait, jokes on you, I already did that.

- [Siri] Who me?

- [Krazy Ken] Oh, I see what it did.

It dimmed it out, oh okay.

So it dimmed it out because I hit my time limit.

That's kind of cool.

YouTube is dimmed out but not YouTube studio

That's some nice AI there, all right.

Oh yes, yes, let's do some reading, let's get a book.

Let's see, books, it's just called books now

I think they tweaked it up to follow more

How to draw manga faces, okay, that's definitely relevant.

MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT ROCKS DC – TRUTH GOES PUBLIC ABOUT CLINTONLYNCH TARMAC MEETING - Duration: 15:06.

MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT ROCKS DC – TRUTH GOES PUBLIC ABOUT CLINTONLYNCH TARMAC MEETING

Americans everywhere were horrified when former President Bill Clinton met with then-Attorney

General Loretta Lynch on a tarmac at the Phoenix International Airport in June of 2016, days

before she announced that his wife Hillary would not face charges in her email scandal.

Now, Bill's side of the story that partly led to his wife losing the election has been

revealed.

The Washington Times reported that Bill told investigators that he didn't think the investigation

into Hillary's emails "amounted to much, frankly," so he therefore saw no problem

in having the impromptu meeting with Lynch.

He said that he believed he knew the "truth of that whole thing," and that he did not

want to snub her when he walked the 30 yards from his private jet to hers.

Bill claimed that he only told Lynch that she was doing a great job and that she was

his favorite Cabinet secretary.

This was all revealed in Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz's 500-page

report on the Clinton email saga.

The report also details the chaos of the tarmac meeting, as an aide for Lynch repeatedly tried

to break it up, but was stopped by security.

Bill also talked for way longer than Lynch wanted him to, leading to more awkwardness.

The aide for Lynch said that she was "shocked" and she "just felt completely … blindsided"

once he got onto the plane.

"If I had knowledge, I would not have been in that van.

I would've … stayed on the plane and got everybody off.

… No heads-up or anything," she said.

Lynch said that the conversation went "on and on" for 20 minutes.

"It was just too long a conversation to have had," she said.

Lynch told investigators that she thought the meeting would be quick, but Bill would

not stop making small talk with her and her husband.

"At some point, after two or three minutes, President Clinton turned around," she said.

"I had my tote bags on the bench seat of the plane, because I had put them there when

he came on board.

I had been holding them.

I put them down.

He picked up my tote bags and moved them, and then he sat down.

So he sat down, and my husband and I were still standing in front of him having the

discussion.

And … he sort of sat heavily, and … I didn't know … how he felt, so I can't

say one way or the other."

"And I remember at that point saying, 'Well, you know, thank you very much' kind of thing,

and he sort of continued chatting … made a comment about his travels he was headed

on.

And I said, 'Well, we've got to get going to the hotel,'" she continued.

Bill still claimed that the meeting was harmless.

"I just wanted to say hello to her, and I thought it would look really crazy if we

Philanthropist 'ashamed' by public's reaction to homeless during 24-hour sleepout - Duration: 7:38.

Philanthropist 'ashamed' by public's reaction to homeless during 24-hour sleepout

A hair stylist and philanthropist who spent 24 hours sleeping rough in Brisbane's CBD says he is "disgusted" with how the public treats homeless people.

Jak Vaessen, who has raised more than $1 million for local charities, said his sleepout was in response to this month's Vinnies CEO Sleepout.

Instead of bunking in with the city's leaders at the Brisbane Powerhouse for a night, he sat in front of the Treasury Casino to raise funds for New Farm's 3rd Space homeless shelter.

He said what he saw and experienced over the weekend left him in shock.

"There were at least 10 women asleep in the street on Saturday night around the casino and a woman with half her pants hanging down laying on the footpath," he said.

"Not one person helped her.

"[People] demand a safe Australia for all women and then step over a woman lying in the street.

Friends and supporters arrived periodically to wish Mr Vaessen luck, but he could only accept food or drink from strangers.

He said he was surprised that only one stranger stopped to offer him help.

"I felt embarrassed and ashamed because of the way people looked at me.

"They think that when you're homeless you're either are a drug addict or an alcoholic.

"In my 17 years working with the homeless that's a very small percentage.

Mr Vaessen was invited to a homeless shelter to have a hot breakfast on Saturday morning but said he lacked the energy to walk there after a night spent sitting on cold concrete pathways.

"I was hungry, I had dry lips and a dry throat, and it was only for one day," he said.

"I just have so much admiration for homeless people and how they survive mentally, physically and spiritually.

"They have to put up with abuse from the public and they don't retaliate, they just have to take it on the chin.

Mr Vaessen said the $20,000 he raised would go to 3rd Space to provide meals, hot showers and a place for the homeless to rest.

He said above all the sleepout made him realise how lonely life was on the streets.

"Don't look away from these people.

A bit of empathy and a bit of compassion would go a long way and it doesn't cost you anything.".

Sleeping rough to prove a point.

Mr Vaessen told ABC Radio Brisbane he named the project the Joe Blow I'm Not a CEO Sleepout in response to St Vincent De Paul's annual homelessness fundraiser.

The Vinnies CEO Sleepout asks business leaders to sleep rough for a night to raise awareness and money to "break the cycle of homelessness and poverty in Australia".

There's evidence to show the CEO sleepout has effected social change, but Mr Vaessen said he believed it was too far removed from what people living on the streets experienced on a daily basis.

"I'd love to take a group of CEOs out for two full days and let them walk in the city and see people's reactions to them when they look like a homeless person," he said.

"That's what makes change.

Anti-Poverty Network spokesperson Miles Whitaker protested at this month's CEO Sleepout in Brisbane and said there needed to be a more nuanced conversation around the struggles facing the homeless at such events.

"We're looking at it and seeing security guards and fences and portable toilets.

cars coming and going and food being delivered," he said.

"The homeless in Brisbane aren't getting that.

They're living on park benches and in doorways in the bitter cold and they don't have security guards watching over them.".

Vinnies commits to 'colder, harsher' experiences.

Vinnies Queensland chief executive Peter Maher said the organisation's sleepout events in Brisbane and the Gold Coast raised a record-breaking $1.

5 million.

He said CEOs slept in a gusty wind corridor in nine-degree temperatures at Brisbane Powerhouse, formerly a derelict building used by the city's homeless sleeping rough.

"Vinnies CEO Sleepout can't ever replicate the real and confronting environment a homeless person endures every night," Mr Maher said.

"Its intention is to give people the opportunity to reflect on the issue of homelessness in our community, empathise, and raise vital funds for Vinnies homelessness services.

Mr Maher said participants heard from two people who had experienced homelessness and were invited to walk a mile in their shoes by taking on a persona and going through the motions of seeking support and finding a bed for the night.

He said Vinnies was committed to giving CEOs a "colder, harsher and harder" experience every year to drive fundraising efforts.

Public service shake up promotes bureaucrat found guilty of maladministration - Duration: 4:39.

Public service shake up promotes bureaucrat found guilty of maladministration

Michael Buchan has been named the interim head of the state's Housing Authority.

In October 2015, the Independent Commission Against Corruption delivered its findings into the sale of publicly owned land at Gillman in Adelaide's north-western suburbs, to private consortium Adelaide Capital Partners for the purpose of building a gas and mining industry hub, without an open tender.

While the ICAC cleared former Premier Jay Weatherill and Treasurer Tom Koutsantonis, it made findings of maladministration against Renewal SA's then chief operating officer Michael Buchan and then chief executive Fred Hansen.

At the time, the Liberals said the response to the inquiry had been a "virtual whitewash with no one prepared to accept responsibility", with Mr Buchan "moved sideways" into another senior position in the department.

"They have tried to walk away from any responsibility, and all we see is someone now being moved sideways," then opposition treasury spokesman Rob Lucas said in January 2016.

But Mr Lucas today said that Mr Buchan had paid the penalty for the adverse ICAC finding, and it did not prevent him from being promoted in the future.

"If you do something that is judged to be not correct, you suffer the consequences and the penalty or the penance, and I think the same rule of thumb can be applied to senior public servants," Mr Lucas said.

Speaking to media today, Mr Marshall defended the appointment. "Look, the reality is we've made a decision to appoint and interim head for the new authority — Michael Buchan — he'll serve in that role," Mr Marshall said.

"Ultimately we're going out to the market to get the very best person for the permanent role.

Mr Marshall has announced he had appointed several chief executives to government departments, including Buchan, who will head the new agency amalgamating the functions of Housing SA and Renewal SA.

He also promoted experienced public servant Paul Heithersay to head the state's Energy and Mining Department, former Investment Attraction Agency head Mike Hnyda to lead the Trade, Tourism and Investment Department and Kylie Taylor to be the chief of the Office for Recreation, Sport and Racing.

The appointments come as the State Government announces a suite of changes across departments and boards, with a reshuffle of the public service to kick in from July.

Mr Marshall is yet to announce who will take the reigns at his own department, with Public Sector Employment commissioner Erma Ranieri acting in the role since the initial chief executive cull in the aftermath of the state election.

New SA Health chief executive Chris McGowan's start date was brought forward from November to May 7. Purge from government boards continues.

The announcement of new chief executives came as the Liberal State Government continued its purge from boards, targeting high-profile Labor appointees including a former minister, the wife of a former federal immigration minister and a radio broadcaster.

The Housing Trust Board will undergo significant change, including the replacement of presiding member Mary Patetsos, the wife of former Labor MP Nick Bolkus, with former Homestart Finance chief executive Gary Storkey.

Other board members to not be reappointed include former MP Greg Crafter, media personality Amanda Blair, and Playford Council chief executive Mal Hemmerling.

Peter Vaughan, the former head of Business SA who lost his position on the TAFE board last year, will also not be appointed to the SACE board.
