 Savanna Darnell — one of Love Island's 12 new bombshells — is set to mix things up in the villa as she gets to know the single boys

   But ahead of joining the 2018 cast, the 22 year old singer and dancer has let to public get to know her a little better, too

   Savanna revealed her claims to fame, one being that she has a very famous father; Kid Creole.   But who is Kid Creole, aka August Darnell? Here's what you need to know

   The band rose to fame in the eighties with a mix of disco, Caribbean, and Latin American musical influences.   Previously, the Bronx-born music star was in a band called Dr

Buzzard's Original Savannah Band, and they produced singles such as Cherchez La Femme. How old is he?  August is 67 years old, making him 45 years older than daughter Savanna

  Family life   The performer's mum, Karen Smallwood, met August at Sheffield's Lyceum Theatre in 1982.   Previously speaking to The Star, mum Karen revealed: "I absolutely loved Kid Creole and the Coconuts and made sure I got to meet him after the show to get a vinyl signed

 "We were pen pals for about eight years after that. Then when I was 24 he invited me to work as his personal assistant in New York

" The pair later fell for one another, and Savanna was born four years into their relationship.   Speaking of his family life in 2004 to Manchester Evening News, the musical legend said: "How many children do I have? At least seven and no more than 12

 "That's because I was a fool when I was younger and when the band was at its height.  "The children I do know about, of course, are well provided for

" At the time, he was living in a Denmark with girlfriend Hayley, and they had just welcomed daughter Ilana.
