Victory over Carl Frampton has Josh Warrington dreaming big. Having overwhelmed his featherweight rival in a stunning domestic dust-up on Saturday, the IBF champion now turns his attention to other worlds left to conquer
Making his name in America is the plan for 2019 - But beating Frampton has brought rewards closer to home, too
'This means I can stop buying my (twin) babies' dresses in Asda,' he joked on Saturday night
'I can really spoil them!' For now, however, Warrington has some more immediate business to attend to
His first task on Sunday, after making the short trip back from Manchester, was to finish some DIY for his wife Natasha
'The first thing I said to her was that I can't wait to get home on Sunday and put that furniture together for her!' Yet even after downing his tools, the chance to toast victory with a festive drink must take a back seat
'I've done no Christmas shopping so I'll be out on Christmas Eve trying to do it all,' Warrington revealed
So the IBF featherweight king faces a whirlwind few days, following a relentless 12-round display at the Manchester Arena
It was a fight Frank Warren labelled 'the best title fight I have ever seen in a British ring', but it could also prove the means to another, richer end
For the promoter believes Warrington can now emulate his beaten rival and crack the United States
Saturday's showdown was shown on ESPN across the pond as Warrington announced himself to a worldwide audience with a breathless display of aggression and skill
Victory ensured he kept his title and is now on course for unification clashes with the likes of Leo Santa Cruz and Oscar Valdez
It's a path laid out for Warrington by Frampton, who himself broke through in America following victories over Scott Quigg and Santa Cruz and was named Fighter of the Year for 2016 by RING Magazine
'He went before a very big audience in the States today - ESPN has a massive audience out there - and that is going to be fight of the year, no doubt about that,' Warren said
'He won it and he looked going winning it. Josh Warrington is one of the most bankable fighters in the world now
He goes into that top echelon of fighters.' For Frampton, the prospects are rather less bright
The former two-weight world champion hinted he could retire immediately after his second career defeat
He was brave, but soundly beaten, and he knew it. 'I don't really have any quit in me,' Frampton said afterwards
'I tried and fought right to the end. It wasn't enough.' The avenues to big fights appear to be closing, but Warren has vowed to back his fighter regardless of what he decides
'We signed new long-term deals with both of them before the fight and whatever he wants to do, I'll be with him 100 per cent,' the promoter said
'If he said he wanted to pack it in, I would support him 100 percent. If he wants to fight on, I'll support him
'
