What's up Explearners!

In today's video we're going to talk about strategies you can use right before hitting that stage

I talked about ways of decreasing your stage fright or your F.O.P.S and in today's video

we're going to talk about getting you ready for the stage right before you go on these

five tips are going to help you feel more relaxed and more courageous so that you can

conquer the stage at your best step number one I want you to take a power pose what does

that mean you can do the Wonder Woman pose or you can do the boss pose whatever makes

you feel powerful and like you've got this because you know what you do find your power

pose and stick with it and I want you to hold this pose for 2 minutes do this right before

you go onstage it can be in the morning of your talk or your speech or can be right before

you get on stage but just be sure to keep that power pose up for 2 minutes to I want

you to hydrate hydrate hydrate hydrate H2O is your friend make sure you do this well

in advance we're talking about something like 2 hours beforehand so you don't have to take

a time out if you know what I mean and run off stage for that bio-break so make sure

you do this well in advance of your talk stay hydrated folks all right step number three

I want you to try some sort of meditating or yoga or some type of breathing exercises

because this will help lower your stress it's super important to remember to breathe just

breathe in and breathe out it's as simple as that but just remember to do it because

sometimes we get nervous and I'll caught up in the moment we totally forget that we need

to breathe my next step number for I want you to avoid stimulants such as coffee tea

other Libations you don't necessarily want to be caffeinated when you're upstage cuz

it's not going to give you the energy while you're already nervous so you don't want any

extra type of stimulation in your system that's going to buy your speech or your talk so just

stick to water and step number 5 as soon as you get onstage take a moment to look at people

in the audience I want you to try and make eye contact eye contact with seven people

in the audience look at them as individuals don't look at them as your mortal enemies

these are people who are here to listen to you they know that you have something to offer

them they know that you have value to add so don't treat them as foes treat them as

friends and make eye contact you want to establish a connection with people in the audience suddenly

it doesn't seem so scary after all this audience is not out to get you they're not going to

throw tomatoes at you they're there to listen to you and make sure that you establish rapport

with them when you get right on stage before you start talking alright Explearners let

Jussie Smollett Makes First Public Appearance Days After Apparent Hate Crime - News Today - Duration: 9:58.

Jussie Smollett made his first public appearance days after the Empire star was targeted in an apparent hate crime attack, declaring that he "couldn't let those motherf—ers win

"  On Saturday, the actor, who was scheduled to perform at the Troubadour in Los Angeles before the attack, took the stage at the famed venue and addressed the terrifying incident

Get push notifications with news, features and more. Follow Following You'll get the latest updates on this topic in your browser notifications

"There are so many words on my heart that I want to say," began a visibly emotional Smollett, 35

"The most important that I can say, to keep it simple, thank you so much. I'm okay… I'm not fully healed yet, but I'm going to

I'm going to stand strong with y'all."  "I had to be here tonight," added Smollett

"I couldn't let those motherf—ers win. So I will always stand for love, I will never stand for anything other than that

Regardless of what anyone else says, I will only stand for love. I hope that you all stand with me

"  Smollett performed "Heavy" from Empire, which he said now "has a new meaning to me," as his Empire "family" watched on from the audience

"In times of trauma or hurt or grief, we still have a responsibility to lead with love," the actor said

"If we don't, then we just die inside, and we've got to f—ing live, ya'll. The hateful rhetoric that gets thrown around — I'm not going to name no names, I don't care to… it has to stop

But guess what — it stops with the people that believe in love."  "We have literally only just begun," Smollett continued

"I would not have been able to get through it without obviously my family, but also the love and support of all ya'll

I don't take it lightly… I'm so proud of myself."  Smollett left the stage, but the crowd cheered for an encore

After returning to the spotlight, Smollett performed "Powerful" and took the time to clarify reports about the apparent hate crime

"Just because there has been a lot of stuff that has been said about me that is absolutely not true," said Smollett

"There are just a couple of points that I wanted to make really quick… I was bruised, but my ribs were not cracked

I went to the doctor immediately — I was not hospitalized. Both my doctors in L.A

and Chicago cleared me to perform but said to take it easy, obviously. And, above all, I fought the f— back

"  Earlier in the night, Smollett's siblings appeared on stage to support their brother

"If I'm honest, as his big brother, I wanted Jussie to sit this one out," said Joel Smollett Jr

"I sincerely wanted him to stay out of the public until he heals. Then, after much debate, some arguing and many tears, my family and I realized that tonight is an important part of Jussie's healing

"  "He's been a fighter since he was a baby," Joel Jr. continued. "He fought his attackers that night and he continues to fight

Jussie is a true artist every time he breathes, but above all else, he is the epitome of love

"  The star was allegedly attacked by two black-clad, masked men in Chicago's Streeterville section near his home on Tuesday

Smollett was treated at Northwestern Hospital.  On Friday, Smollett spoke out for the first time about the incident, telling Essence in a statement: "Let me start by saying that I'm OK

My body is strong but my soul is stronger. More importantly I want to say thank you

The outpouring of love and support from my village has meant more than I will ever be able to truly put into words

"  "I am working with authorities and have been 100% factual and consistent on every level," he continued

"Despite my frustrations and deep concern with certain inaccuracies and misrepresentations that have been spread, I still believe that justice will be served

As my family stated, these types of cowardly attacks are happening to my sisters, brothers and non-gender conforming siblings daily

I am not and should not be looked upon as an isolated incident. We will talk soon and I will address all details of this horrific incident, but I need a moment to process

Most importantly, during times of trauma, grief and pain, there is still a responsibility to lead with love

It's all I know. And that can't be kicked out of me. With love, respect & honor…Jussie

"  At arounda.m. in Chicago on Tuesday, Smollett transported himself to the hospital after he was the victim of an apparent hate crime

The Chicago Police Department previously confirmed in a statement that a member of the hit Fox show was involved in a "racially-charged assault and battery

"  "Two unknown offenders approached him and gained his attention by yelling out racial and homophobic slurs towards him," continued the statement

"The offenders began to batter the victim with their hands about the face and poured an unknown chemical substance on the victim

At some point during the incident, one of the offenders wrapped a rope around the victim's neck

The offenders fled the scene."  On Thursday, Smollett's family released a statement about the attack

"We want to be clear, this was a racial and homophobic hate crime. Jussie has told the police everything from the very beginning

His story has never changed, and we are hopeful they will find these men and bring them to justice," they said

"Our family thanks everyone for their prayers and the huge amount of love he has received

We are thankful to our village for your immense support during this trying time. We are so grateful that God saw him through this cowardly attack alive

Jussie is a warrior whose light cannot be dimmed."  In a statement, 20th Century Fox Television and Fox said: "We are deeply saddened and outraged to learn that a member of our EMPIRE family, Jussie Smollett, was viciously attacked last night

We send our love to Jussie, who is resilient and strong, and we will work with law enforcement to bring these perpetrators to justice

The entire studio, network and production stands united in the face or any despicable act of violence and hatred — and especially against one of our own

"  The Fox show's creator, Lee Daniels, also spoke out about the incident, calling the actor his "son" and saying, "It's just another f—ing day in America

"  On Wednesday, Chicago Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi released an update on the case, revealing that investigators have acquired footage that could lead to the arrests of the Empire actor's assailants

The police also released two photos of the persons of interest. However, the images did not show the individuals' faces

Teaching The Bible In Public Schools Could Be REALLY BAD For Republicans - Duration: 4:49.

On Monday, Fox and friends air to segment where they were talking about the need for

teaching the Bible in public schools and how Republicans all over the country.

We're actually pushing bills and initiatives to force public schools to teach children

the Bible.

You know the thing.

It's like, it's going to help with Literacy Bible literacy classes.

And then Donald Trump, after watching this on Fox and friends, did what he always does.

He tweets out like, hell yeah, I love this.

I don't remember exactly what he said, but he threw his support behind teaching the Bible

in public schools.

Now I have repeatedly said, and we've actually covered these initiatives by the Republicans

in past segments.

Uh, I am not in favor in any way of forcing public schools to teach the Bible.

Not a fan of it whatsoever, unless of course you also want to throw in the Koran, the Torah,

every other religious text and make it a class that includes all of them.

And you're only teaching the historical significance of those particular texts that I would be

okay with.

As long as it's also an elective.

However, Republicans are trying to make this something that happens and according to a

recent article in the Atlantic, this will end very badly for them, not because it's

unconstitutional, but because the more people learn about what's actually in the Bible,

the more they're going to start to question what the hell is wrong with the Republican

Party.

Now the Atlantic didn't actually go as far as to saying that part, but they should have

and in fact they should have devoted more than two sentences to that entire theme.

I mean, come on.

You actually struck gold on this topic, on this issue with this theory and you literally

devoted two sentences to it right at the end of the article, but here it is and I will

spell it out and I hope the Atlantic does this.

Next time they choose to talk about it.

If we took high school students or even middle school or elementary school students and we

put the Bible in the classroom, we say, okay, kids, get out.

Get out your bibles as time to learn about the Bible.

We're going to talk about the lessons in the Bible.

What are they going to learn about?

They're gonna learn that we're supposed to treat foreigners as if they were natives in

our own country.

We're supposed to welcome them into our homes.

We are supposed to feed them and clothe them and offer them hospitality.

Nowhere they're going to say, build the wall.

Hashtag Maga.

That's not in the Bible.

I've looked, actually, I've looked.

I don't see Hashtag Maga anywhere in there.

They're also gonna.

Learn that blessed are the poor, not let's give tax cuts to the wealthy.

Also can't find that passage in the Bible about giving tax cuts to the wealthy.

They don't learn that.

Do not commit adultery.

It's kind of odd considering that the dude in the White House makes it a basically his

favorite pastime is adultery, or at least it was before he came to the Oval Office.

God only knows what's happening now.

The point is, every actual lesson from the new testament goes against every single thing

that the modern day Republican Party is about.

They don't care about adultery.

They don't care about the wealthy screwing over the poor.

They don't care about destruction of the environment, which, yes, protecting the environment and

God's creation is in the Bible.

That is our duty according to that book.

So what are these students going to think about the Republican Party when they learn

that Jesus taught us to take care of one another, to help each other, to give medical care to

people without asking them to pay for it.

You know, that's a big one too.

So yeah, I wish the Atlantic would have done a better job of expanding on that because

that is exactly what would happen.

A lot of these students would have their eyes opened.

They might actually start to understand that today's modern Republican Party has absolutely

nothing in common with what is actually in the Bible, though they love to throw the Bible

in our face whenever they get the opportunity to do so.

I still don't think it's a good idea to force bibles into our public schools, but the silver

lining here is that if Republicans managed to successfully do this, it's still going

to end very badly for them.

Public Survival Multiplayer Bedrock: Day1 - Duration: 24:15.

Starting off in a brand new world in VR

Told ya!

Straight off, I found some drowned!

There were a bunch! Like, six of them!

But it was a boring fight, so we'll just skip to the end.

And on to what you really want to see!

Tree trimming!

Exciting!

Now we're getting to the heartwood of it!

OK, we've got some wood...

Now we need dirt!

Lots of dirt.

Plant some trees!

Finally!

A simple dirt foundation to start.

Then the rest of the house.

And make a ceiling

Wait, it's only two blocks high

Also, maybe windows would be a good idea.

That's better!

Now we need a food source.

Right, we need tools, too.

We need more wood

NOW we can make some tools.

While playing, I really did not hear those obvious foot steps approaching.

Yep.

Start gathering dirt to fill in that crater.

Maybe time to start thinking about a bed.

I thought about trimming the long, boring night.

But then I was all, "Nah!"

I had to endure it, now you do too.

So here we are. Waiting out the night.

How's you day or night going?

Well, I hope.

This really is the bulk of the video.

Thanks for sticking with me through this.

I guess this is kind of mean.

Skipping the very first fight, but making you sit trough the entire night with me.

You could just skip ahead to 11:14. It picks up again there with morning.

But then you'll miss out on the next fight.

You also won't learn the terrible secret

"What's the terrible secret," you ask?

Well...

If you keep watching...

you'll have wasted several minutes waiting for no good reason.

That's it.

I'm sorry. There was no real secret.

Which is the terrible secret.

I told you it was terrible.

OK, no, this is too boring.

It's a stupid idea, but let's head back outside

And start filling in that crater.

Honestly I'm surprised some of these dirt blocks didn't despawn.

ok, back inside to safety.

Oh, here's a neat trick, if you're plaing in VR

You can pass through doors! Without actually passing through doors.

I guess it's kinda cheatsy.

But the game isn't stopping me!

OK, looks all clear out here.

You have the patience of a saint to still be here.

Sorry there isn't much to see.

A bed is definitely in order.

Oh look, a golden-armored skeleton.

Oh! I think the sun's coming up!

Finally! Let me just readjust my headset here.

OK, let's go!

Collect some more dirt!

Oh no! The golden armored skeleton!

I can take it!

Without weapons... or armor.

Yeah, I'm going to need a weapon at the least.

Also wool.

Run away!

Safe!

Haha!

Die! ...again. Because you were already a skeleton.

Magic hat!

Final piece of wool!

And more dirt

There!

Now, finally, time to mine!

You can't see it, because it's so dark, but there's a skeleton down there.

What am I doing?

Expanding the house!

Right, windows again.

Can we see the sunset?

Eh, better head back.

No more long, boring nights!

Going out to explore for a bit.

Now, let's pretty up this house a bit.

Time to make some charcoal

And gather more wood

And make an entire stack of charcoal

While we wait for the charcoal, let's replace the dirt foundation with cobblestone.

woops

Woops, again

You know what? Let's make another room.

This time I remember to leave a window.

No, let's make this room one big room!

We'll think of something to do here later.

There! We have shelter, a steady food source, and a small tree farm!

Stupid chicken.

Thanks for watching!

Denver Classroom Teachers Association Denies Denver Public School Offer - Duration: 2:21.

Chanting: What do we want?

Fair pay!

When do we want it?

Now!

What do we want?

Fair pay!

When do we want it?

Yesterday!

I want to make sure that folks hear me say it truly is my preference that we're able

to reach an agreement before the state has to make any type of decision on if they will

or if they won't intervene in our negotiations.

And the reason I took the job of superintendent, the reason I was interested in the role of

superintendent was because I wanted to be able to lead in a different way, so my pledge

is that I'm going to continue to be open, a listener, and looking for ways to find middle

ground for us here today.

We came here tonight in good faith.

Susana, you started talking tonight about how you were different than the previous administration.

Susana, you are the previous administration.

You've made promise after promise after promise, and tonight you came with another empty promise.

We expressed the concerns of our educators, that included, competitive salary schedule

that meets the needs of our teachers and is similar to other districts.

We asked for a salary schedule that included more lanes for educators to have additional

opportunities for movement.

We asked for the ability to use PDU's to move through lanes like our current agreement.

We asked you for a salary structure that honors base salary and reduce the variable pay bonus

structure.

The offer that you have brought today, is an example of your inability to listen to

our educators.

From this day forward, you will have no choice, but to listen.

I remind you that we had a 93% strike vote.

93 percent.

And membership is going up!

It is time for Governor Polis to respect our right to strike, and when he does, that is

exactly what we will do.

Chanting: If they won't pay us, shut it down!

If they won't pay us, shut it down!

If they won't pay us, shut it down!

Trump Wont Commit to Making Mueller Report Public The New York Times - Duration: 3:25.

Trump Wont Commit to Making Mueller Report Public The New York Times

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — President Trump would not commit in an interview aired Sunday to making public the results of the special counsels investigation into Russias ties to his campaign, adding that it was time to get rid of the inquiry.

In the , Mr. Trump reiterated his belief that the attorney general would determine whether the public would see the results of the inquiry by the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III. But he would not say whether he would be comfortable with the results being made public.

I dont know, the president said. It depends. I have no idea what its going to say.

The wide ranging interview with Margaret Brennan, the shows host, was conducted days after the acting attorney general, Matthew G. Whitaker, , and amid stagnant negotiations with Democrats over Mr. Trumps demand for a border wall. Mr. Trump indicated at various points in the interview that he would use the power of his office to solve that matter and others facing his presidency.

Among those matters, the president appeared to suggest, are national security and the military. He called the use of military force against Venezuela an option. And he indicated that he would like to keep troops in Iraq — a striking departure from his push to withdraw from Afghanistan and Syria — to keep an eye on Iran.

Its perfectly situated for looking at all over different parts of the troubled Middle East rather than pulling up, Mr. Trump said. Were going to keep watching and were going to keep seeing and if theres trouble, if somebody is looking to do nuclear weapons or other things, were going to know it before they do.

On the border wall fight, the president reiterated his belief that we have now set the table to take action after a short term deal to fund part of the government — a deal struck to end the longest government shutdown in history — expires on Feb. 15. In an on Thursday, Mr. Trump suggested that he had successfully made the case to Americans that the problem at the border was enough to constitute declaring a national emergency, and that Nancy Pelosi, the House speaker, was doing a disservice to the country — both points he again made on Sunday.

People that didnt have any idea, Mr. Trump said. They didnt have a clue as to what was happening. They now know exactly whats happening.

Mr. Trump is expected to of his State of the Union speech, which is scheduled for Tuesday. In the interview with CBS, Mr. Trump once again accused Democrats, in particular Ms. Pelosi, of ignoring urgent problems at the border, which included human trafficking and what Mr. Trump called an invasion of human traffickers into the country.

Though Mr. Trump seems intent on ignoring congressional negotiations, lawmakers insisted on Sunday that they were still trying. Senator Richard C. Shelby, the chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee and a member of , admitted that it was too early to say whether the negotiations could be successful.

I think that the president is dead set on keeping his campaign promise, Mr. Shelby, Republican of Alabama, said on CNNs State of the Union. He acknowledged that Mr. Trump probably had some legal merits for declaring a national emergency over the border wall, but he pleaded for the committee to be allowed to do its work.

If people leave us alone, Mr. Shelby added, well get this done by Wednesday night.

He said that the committee had invited experts with knowledge of the southwestern border to testify this week on exactly what is needed for border security. Mr. Shelby expressed optimism that hearing from those experts could move us off of .

Its a question of how do we get off the politics and on to the substance, he said.

Other members of the bipartisan committee — Representative Henry Cuellar, Democrat of Texas, and Senator John Hoeven, Republican of North Dakota — doubled down on their respective partys positions on Fox News Sunday. Mr. Cuellar, who represents parts of the border, dismissed the presidents reasoning for the wall as built on a false premise.

In the CBS interview, Mr. Trump fought back against criticism of his wall and other policies. He responded to warnings that his administration was risking a resurgence of terrorist groups by promising the rapid withdrawal of troops from Syria and Afghanistan by saying that he ran against 17 Republicans and won.

Ill leave intelligence there, Mr. Trump said, and if I see nests forming, Ill do something about it.

Last week, Mr. Trump showed similar defiance in suggesting that his intelligence chiefs go back to school for saying that North Korea was unlikely to give up its nuclear program and that Iran is not, for now, taking steps necessary to make a bomb.

Mr. Trump said that he would ultimately rely on his own counsel if he disagreed with intelligence assessments.

The president also indicated that the power of his affectionate letter writing with Kim Jong un, the North Korean leader, might persuade Mr. Kim to drop his nuclear plans. Mr. Trump has at least six letters from Mr. Kim that he enjoys sharing with people who visit him in the Oval Office.

We have had tremendous correspondence that some people have seen and cant even believe it, Mr. Trump said. Now that doesnt mean were going to make a deal. But certainly I think we have a very good chance of making a deal.

Other leaders did not receive such praise. Mr. Trump said that he had declined a meeting with Nicolás Maduro, the embattled president of Venezuela, said it recognized Juan Guaidó, the 35 year old oppositional figure, as the countrys rightful leader.

I decided at the time, no, because so many really horrible things have been happening in Venezuela when you look at that country, Mr. Trump said.

With his cabinet in flux, Mr. Trump dismissed as fake news the reports that Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, the majority leader, had asked Mike Pompeo, the secretary of state and his most visible emissary in negotiations with North Korea, to consider leaving to run for a Senate seat in Kansas.

Mr. Pompeo . The secretary of state said that he had appreciated the call, but that he had a very full plate.

The CBS interview was broadcast during the presidents first visit in months to Mar a Lago, his Florida estate, where he spent Saturday golfing with Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus. On Sunday, the president hit the golf course again amid planning for his annual Super Bowl party.

The president told CBS that he loved to watch football, but that he would not encourage his youngest son, Barron, 12, to participate in such a dangerous sport.

Public Speaking Speech 1- Katelyn Swope - Duration: 2:48.

The Hunger Games is a very well known book and movie that has been around for over ten

years.

When the book first came out it was a hit.

I ended up watching the movie before reading the book, and looking back, the character

that stands out the most is Primrose Everdeen.

Prim is Katniss's little sister who is really shy and laid back.

Prim proved to be a very strong character for her age with what she went through throughout

the movie.

She was very interested in healing people and she learned how to do so through her mom.

She is also very loyal to her family.

As Katniss is going through the games, she always had faith she was going to make it

out alive.

I can relate to all these traits to myself in some way.

Starting off with Prim's first personality trait, her shyness.

Her shyness comes through specifically in the first movie.

When Prim's name is called as the female tribute, she slowly and timidly walks towards the stage.

Another thing I noticed is she's never shown hanging out with any of her friends, unlike

her sister Katniss who has Gale.

This could be another clue as to her being shy.

I am a very shy person and I am always by myself doing my own thing.

I do not say a whole lot unless I am with my friends or my family.

Another thing about Prim is her ability to heal others.

In the second movie, Katniss's best friend, Gale, gets hurt and Prim is the one who stays

calm in the situation in order to help him while everyone else is freaking out.

I have always been someone who helps others when they need me.

I am wanting to go into the medical field, so I can learn that same ability to help people

when they are injured.

I am also one to stay calm in situations when other people are shaken up.

Lastly, Prim put her family above all.

When her mom was struggling with the death of their father, she was there for her.

She always showed her strength while she was around her mother, but behind the scenes she

was having nightmares about her fathers death.

Although I may not have had a loss like this one, there has been other times where I've

had to be strong for my family.

My family is very important to me and have always been my number one priority.

I will always be there for my family and I know I can always expect them to show up for

me, as well.

Although Prim didn't play a huge role in The Hunger Games, she portrayed her personality

very well.

Sometimes is can be hard to relate yourself to characters as you are watching a movie.

Willow Shields did a very good job of showing off her shyness, her kindness, and her willingness

to heal others.

This is one of my favorite movies and books.

Had it not been for this project I may not have thought about the character I am most

like.

Knowing how strong Prim is for her mom and her sister with these traits, shows me how

strong I can b,e even though I may not have gone through the same hardships she went through.

US| Trump Wont Commit to Making Mueller Report Public The New York Times

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — President Trump would not commit in an interview aired Sunday to making public the results of the special counsels investigation into Russias ties to his campaign, adding that it was time to get rid of the inquiry.

In the , Mr. Trump reiterated his belief that the attorney general would determine whether the public would see the results of the inquiry by the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III. But he would not say whether he would be comfortable with the results being made public.

I dont know, the president said. It depends. I have no idea what its going to say.

The law does not require the Justice Department to release a report, and Mr. Mueller has been silent on the issue. Last month, Trump advisers were pleased that William P. Barr, Mr. Trumps nominee for attorney general, opened the door to the possibility that the special counsels report could be shielded from the public during a Senate confirmation hearing.

Mr. Trumps wide ranging interview with Margaret Brennan, the shows host, was conducted days after the acting attorney general, Matthew G.
