Park Ji-won gets us better acquainted with the mean machines that symbolize Seoul and

Washington's unshakable military alliance.

The first South Korean F-35A fighter aircraft made its public debut at a rollout ceremony

held at Lockheed Martin's assembly line in Texas on Wednesday local time.

Hundreds of key defense and military officials, as well as politicians from South Korea and

the U.S. attended the ceremony.

Seoul's Vice Defense Minister Suh Choo-suk and the South Korean Air Force's Vice Chief

of Staff Lee Seong-yong were among the attendees.

Vice Minister Suh stressed the fielding of the fighter jet is not simply an acquisition

of jets, but also a symbolic representation of the ironclad alliance between South Korea

and the U.S.

"I request your continued interest and support for the fielding of the F-35 fighter jet so

that it can serve as a critical asset in protecting the South Korean airspace.

I also hope for the continued peace and stability on the Korean peninsula stemming from the

impervious ROK-U.S. alliance."

In a video message, South Korea's Defense Minister Song Young-moo dubbed the fifth-generation

stealth aircraft as the world's best fighter jet,... saying its deployment will greatly

enhance the nation's ability to maintain the security of the nation's sovereign airspace.

The F-35A jets have state-of-the-art radar evasion capabilities and an advanced weapon

system,.... which are expected to significantly strengthen the country's defense against any

provocation.

"The technological capabilities of this fifth-generation fighter are unmatched anywhere in the world.

The F-35 does more than transform into an airforce.

It transforms a nation's armed forces, and it enables allies to maintain peace through

strength and cooperation that spans the globe."

South Korea's Air Force also expects the advanced fighter jets to enhance the security of the

Korean peninsula.

"With aims to implement effective aerospace operations,... we expect the F-35As to enhance

our prompt precision strike capabilities."

Six F-35A jets will be manufactured for South Korea this year, and they will be delivered

to Luke Air Force Base in Arizona,.. where South Korean pilots will undergo the respective

training before the jets are delivered to Cheongju Air Base in South Korea next March.

The South Korean Air Force aims at securing a fleet of at least 40 F-35A units by 2021.

We would like to begin the event with a collaboration with you so when we begin it would be great

actually if you stood up and got as close to each other as possible.

Can everyone turn to the piece of paper that says at the top "Cornelius Cardew - the great

learning".

Does everyone have a copy?

So we are going to create a piece of music together.

According to a few simple rules.

The text that is kind of arranged as a acrostic poem here if there being any confusion.

It is a translation of Confucius and that is our text that we all going to sing.

Each line is something that we sing repeatedly.

So when it says sing 8, it means sing that line 8 times.

If its a phrase you repeat the phrase.

Every time we sing a line we sing it for as long as we can hold our breath.

So its going to be long.

You sing the word 'if' as long as you can 8 times.

Is there any rhyme or reason to this chaos?

Yes kind of.

When it comes to the pitches everybody up here knows what pitches are.

When we start everyone picks their own pitch.

When we begin it is going to sound like absolute chaos, white noise.

A dense mass of sound.

Every time you change line you change to a new pitch.

Every time you change to a new pitch you have to take a pitch from someone else in the room.

(singing)

I am the public in Public Health: Jennifer's story - Duration: 0:51.

My son was born at 34 weeks old so he was the preemie.

And we were in the hospital for a few weeks before we were able to come home.

Once they discharged us they set me up with a home visit.

The reason I came to the Public Health centre and the breastfeeding clinic is because

my son was so tiny that I did have issues with the latch.

Up until then we had nurses in the hospital with any questions that we had

and then all sudden you take them home and you're on your own

and you're like, oh my gosh I have this teeny-tiny little baby and I have to take care of him

and so they gave me a huge sense of comfort.

It built my confidence as a mom and they were just such a big help for me.

Government & Public Administration - Duration: 2:43.

My favorite part about this job is I'm a huge government nerd and so just being at the center

of where everything is happening is really cool.

And then doing communications, I get to be an inch deep and a mile wide in all these

different policy areas.

So, I get to learn a lot of information about policy but being able to condense that into

short snippets that might help people understand.

My name is Paige Waltz, and I am the digital media coordinator for a member of House Leadership.

The CTE courses that I took while in high school were culinary arts, interior design

and leadership, and leadership was what has translated most into my career now.

But, in terms of knowing self-awareness and being able to read rooms and be able to take

an idea that you have and then pitch it in a way that people will respond to and get

your ideas to come into fruition.

On a daily basis, I serve as the official photographer or one of the official photographers

for my boss.

I also write a lot of social media posts and maintain his website.

Taking CTE courses in high school is one of the electives you can take that teaches you

a tangible skill.

Whether you want to take culinary arts to eat food that's kind of why I took it or take

a technology class that might give you a tangible skill, I think it's very beneficial.

There are definitely worse things that you could spend your time doing.

Going into college, I was always a good high school student, but I had only got accepted

to one school and so that was a little disheartening and so when I was applying for graduate school,

of course, I had a job to fall back on but I really wanted to go to grad school and so

I was nervous applying that I wouldn't get in any place or would only have one option.

Do not be afraid to ask for more work and to be a team player.

No task is beneath you if it helps the team and helps your boss look successful.

A motto of my current boss is to do your job with joy and as corny as it sounds it's so

accurate.

Because if you're not willing to do your job with joy and have a positive attitude, you

should probably find another job because you're not giving one hundred percent into your career.

You're not being successful.

Osinbajo, corruption fight and public opinion by Jerome-Mario Utomi - Duration: 8:13.

Editors note: One of the cardinal points of President Muhammadu Buhari during his electioneering campaign in 2015 is fight against corruption.

But there have been mixed reactions among Nigerians concerning the hype about the success recorded by Buhari-led administration in the war against corruption.

In an article sent to us, a social commentator, Jerome-Mario, writes about Vice President Yemi Osinbajos recent comment about the fight against corruption in Nigeria.

It is a deep-seated teaching within the religious circle that for a man to exist, comprehends, exercise and act; he must depend on a supernatural gift called grace.

Such 'grace' for political decisiveness seems to have been recently released upon our nation's Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbanjo as he against all permutations conceded that corruption still exists in President Buhari's administration.

Adding context, the Vice President, had while speaking at the 7th presidential quarterly business forum for private sector stakeholders in Aso Rock Villa, among other things stated as follows; 'that, there is grand corruption in the Nigeria public finance space, that Nigerian business environment is burdened with corruption, that corruption under this administration has not been completely dealt with; no, certainly not.

He also added that about three million Dollars, approximately one-tenth of our foreign reserves, was fleeced through a strategic alliance programme in recent times.

Certainly well crafted, with telling good intentions aimed at promoting openness and probity in our political space, the remark, in the Nigeria history has presented Professor Osinbajo as a desirable member of the league of very few Nigerian leaders who conceded that something may actually not be completely right with their administrations.

Against this backdrop, the VP, going by what the masses are saying, has made himself the symbolic 'pulpit' that expressed the silent fears of Nigerians who in recent times lampooned the purported corruption fight as more of a well said than a well-done affair.

But, the above scenario notwithstanding, knocks has, however, continued to greet the said remark as Nigerians have further spotted a gorge of discrepancy between the VP's remark as against what the administration is currently doing.

For instance, while the VP views corruption fight as work in progress, the vast majority of Nigerians believes that there is no such fight in the first place.

To some, the FG through its actions remains the major propeller of corruption while others are of the opinion that the supposed fight only exists in the frames.

Indeed, it appears that the fundamental factor responsible for the dust so raised by the remark is that, Nigerians are particularly not happy with this administration that promised to stamp out corruption but, instead, has unprecedentedly allowed it thrive.

To discerning minds, therefore, informing Nigerians that the same monster the administration promised to erase still exist three years after is synonymous with opening the paradox; a development that has further portrayed the government as a reality Nigerians should worry about.

The situation is even made worse by the inability of the FG to deliver the nation from the throes of economic hardship; prompting many to ask what the administration can point at as their achievements if they cannot fulfill the two cardinal promises of stamping out corruption and getting the nation's economy revamped.

In recent weeks also, there have been strong voices raised against the lackluster strategy in corruption fight in Nigeria with the most formidable of the voices coming from the Transparency International {TI).

The Group had in strong terms cautioned that corruption in Nigeria is on the increase and may slide from bad to worse if something dramatic is not done to get the situation arrested.

That report was described in the government quarters as out of tune and therefore discarded with the wave of hands. But with this comment by the number two citizen, the Transparency International (TI) and other critical minds have been vindicated.

To succeed in this job, what Nigerians are saying is that the strategy so far employed in the corruption fight is faulty and the government, lacking in political will.

What the concerned citizens are, therefore, demanding is the reinvigoration of the political will and review of the strategy so far used as no matter how beautiful a strategy may appear, there is a need for its periodic review.

From their current standpoint, what the masses expect from the VP in my views is not the announcement but, a template in place for ensuring 'that every dollar/naira in revenue would be properly accounted for and would reach the beneficiaries at the grassroots as one dollar, without being siphoned off along the way; block the areas where discretionary powers had been exploited for personal gains and sharpened the instruments that could prevent, detect or deter such practices'.

Very instructive also is the need for this administration to end this act of pointing to the former administration as the architect of their predicament which has become not just a familiar music hall firm but a trademark.

Such reasons generated daily can no longer be sustained as the people are of the opinion that the continuous searches for lost things remain the easiest way to waste both time and resources.

Going forward, the presidency should learn to depart this vicious circle of excuses as it is turning the entire administrative episode to an excruciating burden on the masses and may by implication inform as well as shape the 2019 electoral outing.

Aside the above, efforts should be made to prime and position the EFCC, the ICPC and the Nigeria police force to fight this monster.

This time is auspicious for us as a people to learn from the nations that have passed through this part as the masses are expecting from this administration not just stamping out corruption but a total creation of a sustainable socio-economic prosperity.

In making this call, I am well aware that there is nothing more 'difficult to handle, more doubtful of success, and more dangerous to carry through than initiating such changes as the innovator will make more enemies of all those who prospered under the old order.

But, any leader that do, come out powerful, secured, respected and happy. As the debate on corruption fight rages, Nigerians are inching for victory; a disposition that has further made winning not just compelling but inevitable.

I am the public in Public Health: Sara's story - Duration: 0:57.

I found out about the class through a friend that was pregnant.

We hadn't really talked much, and then I found out she was pregnant

I was pregnant, and she had been going to the class, so she brought me.

We'd have a whole session about labour and delivery

We could ask questions, they'd bring different diagrams.

She'd cover all different things about diet and health, and sleep habits for the child,

after it's born... things just to get us ready for the baby.

I kind of liked having somebody there that I could talk to that wasn't just my mom.

I feel better as a mother since going there.

If I have an issue with him, or if something bothers me, or if I don't know,

I know that next Tuesday when I go to my class, I can ask.
