News on Youtube Jul 27 2018

Hey what's up guys! It's Nils and I want to give you my perspective after one month

of using the new Oculus Go. Let you know what I think of this new and exciting technology. Let's get into the vlog.

So I was at F8 2017 over a year ago and I heard about the Oculus Go. I finally got one.

I waited a year. They unveiled it. They opened it up at F8 2018.

It was really exciting to us to see was here's $199, low price point what many of us in

virtual reality world have been excited about for a while was finally here.

I ordered it from Oculus day one. That was the first mistake I made when it came to

the Oculus Go. I should have ordered it from Amazon. Many of my friends got it earlier than me,

took me about a week to get it but I've got the headset and I can't wait to tell you what I think.

The first thing that I want to talk about when it came to the headset is honestly when it comes to

buying any technology now, is the packaging. I think Oculus knocked it out

of the park. It's got this nice case said I call it a case because I've now

traveled with it several times and I use the box that it came in as my case so

I'll probably buy another case in the future but I love the box.

So the packaging alone Oculus one on what you'll see when you open it up is it's very simple.

You've got a headset and you've got a controller.

So let's maybe start with the headset because that's kind of the core part of

the Oculus Rift. This is the first Oculus headset that is a stand alone.

You don't put an iPhone in it, you don't connect it to a computer. The computer is built into

the headset so there are no wires that are connected to it and it's not too

heavy like some of the other headsets have been and so it's pretty easy, it's

very comfortable and good head strap. The audio is actually in that the

headband here so it comes out and it sounds like surround sound but you don't

put headphones in you can it's got a headphone jack where you can connect

headphones to it but the headset itself is a great function.

It works well, it fits well, the comfort level that I think a lot of people our

time with virtual reality it takes that barrier off. I will say it when use

it for over 30 minutes it still becomes uncomfortable and so that is a reality

of virtual reality. I expect these to get lighter but this is an improvement from

any other VR headset I've ever used including much more expensive headsets.

When it comes to the actual experience the audio in the video aspect of it,

it's really high quality. The experience of what I'm able to see is much better

from iceberg perspective than Samsung gear VR and it's comparable to what I've

experienced with Oculus Rift. And so the quality of what you're able to stream

from a video perspective with this device is excellent.

Now the controller is also what excellent from our perspective. Now it is different if you

used the Oculus Rift but it's better if you use the Samsung gear VR so the

Samsung many ways you don't have a controller you're having to use that dot

on your screen and then focus it and use a clicker on the side of the headset.

This has a few different functions. It's got a little track pad here that you can use.

It's got the the clicker here, the front like the trigger.

It has two buttons then on the front to that and also to use so it gives you

kind of four different control options and then obviously you can move it

around a point almost like a mouse in virtual reality and so it's I would

compare very similarly to a mouse for a computer but now you have all the

different dimensions in which to point to. It is not the same though as an

Oculus Rift is you have two controllers that function much like hands.

This controller does not function like a hand, it more functions like a pointer or controller.

And so while it is very functional and easy to use,

it is not the same and does not replace Oculus Rift. So as I think about this

device and what what it does for $200 virtual reality device, I think it's awesome.

I think it's exceptional, and I think it's going to help bring virtual

reality to the masses. But what it's not is it's not a

high-powered gaming machine like a lot of people are used to with virtual reality.

It's I would compare it like Apple TV or Roku or Amazon fire TV for

television sets. You can stream videos after those devices and that's what

they're made to do. You can also play some games

but they're not high-powered games. If you want to do gaming you need to get a

gaming computer or you need to get a Playstation or Wii or you know things

that are made for video games, and so while this headset does have some games on it,

this is not a headset and this is not a controller for high-power virtual

reality gaming. This is a headset that's good for streaming 360 video content or

virtual reality experiences with some simple interactive games.

I also believe that it will be a great device for social VR as you get more into things

like alt space VR and Facebook spaces as that expands this platform is right now

you can go to, you create an Oculus room, there's some interactivity but it is

limited cause all arms like you have with the Oculus Rift and hands controls and

so you do have some like facial connection. So at this point the software

is gonna have to catch up to the hardware and so the hardware so brand

new to the space the apps are limited in what's possible through the apps are

limited. I think what's gonna happen is even with social VR that the avatars

that we create are gonna be much more personalized, they're gonna be much more

interactive like we've been able to see through Oculus Rift in the past that the

apps that are created don't have to shift to this new platform and they have

to understand the limitations that exist within the platform. So overall my take

on the Oculus Go is it's thrilling, it's extremely exciting and this is going to

be the device that brings virtual reality to the masses. I believe this is

gonna be the number one Christmas present in 2018. My kids love it,

my friends love it, I love it. I think it's gonna be great to really bring 360 video

virtual reality videos to the masses. I can't wait to watch more sports in

virtual reality, I can't wait to go to church in virtual reality. There are so

many things that we're going to be able to do that we

can't even get dream of. But now that the price points lower, now that the

experience is better, I believe that more people are going to be able to

experience virtual reality and then that will lead to the more powerful devices,

lead to more powerful gaming and things like that. Or if you need that you can

get the more powerful devices. And this naturally the first iPhone is very

different from today's iPhone. This is the first version of a stand alone

virtual reality headset. There's no doubt that it will get better, it will get

faster, it will get lighter and more powerful as time goes on. So I'm excited for

what's ahead for the Oculus Go. I cannot recommend it enough. Go get yourself an

Oculus Go headset! Get involved with virtual reality and see what the buzz is all about!

NeoTat Tattoo Machines & Power Switch | Original, Vivace, Stregato | Review & Setup - Duration: 3:49.

Hey guys, its Liam from Killer Ink here

and today I'm going to be running through the NeoTat range.

There are three NeoTat machines we're going to be looking at today:

the Original, the Vivace, and the Stregato

as well as the MagicRay Power Switch.

The NeoTat Original is a smooth, consistent-running rotary that is available in four colours:

Red, Green, Blue, and Black.

The Original is available in either RCA or Clip Cord connection and three stroke lengths:

1.8mm, 2.5mm and 3.5mm.

NeoTat's Original machines feature a lightweight, ergonomic design

that is easy to disassemble and clean.

Following on from the Original is the NeoTat Vivace

which is a lighter rotary that features a removable, interchangeable motor cartridge.

This allows for a quick and easy adjustment to the machine's stroke length.

As with the Original, the Vivace has three stroke lengths:

2.5mm, 3.5mm and 4.2mm

and is available in two colours:

Orange and Black.

The design of the Vivace is ergonomic and offers low levels of vibration

which helps to reduce fatigue during long sessions.

The latest rotary from NeoTat is the Stregato

a dedicated cartridge machine that is smooth-running

and has enough power to push even the largest cartridges.

The NeoTat Stregato features the company's unique EyeLoc locking bar loop system.

This allows the artist a choice of soft or hard disposable drive bar cushions

giving them the choice between a softer or harder hit.

As with all NeoTat machines

the Stregato is well-balanced

and has an ergonomically-shaped body that fits comfortably in your hand.

The Stregato is also fitted with NeoTat's Magic Motor.

This motor provides even smoother movement of the machine.

Although best known for its rotaries,

NeoTat has developed a cool new power switch called the MagicRay.

The MagicRay lets you turn your tattoo machines on and off in a different way.

Instead of pressing down on it with your foot,

the Magic Ray is operated with a wave of your hand

like this...

an infrared sensor in the MagicRay will detect your hand movements.

Waving your hand over the top of the switch will turn the power on

while a second wave will turn it off again.

The MagicRay is also very hygienic.

It can be barrier wrapped to keep it clean and it will still work

as long as you wrap it tightly over the infrared sensor.

Whether you're looking at tattoo machines or the MagicRay Power Switch

we have them all available via the link in the description below.

So which is your favourite NeoTat machine?

Celestial Hacker Girl Jessica - PC Game Review - UT - Duration: 3:55.

Content Warning:

Flashing Lights, Sudden Change in Colors, Fast Moving Images and Patterns, Food

Sometimes pieces that don't seem to go together can coalesce into a wonderful experience.

Celestial Hacker Girl Jessica accomplishes this feat by being made using assets from

the Unity Asset Store, specifically due to how it uses them.

In this game you'll play as Jessica, a magical girl who's a marble, yes, a marble, and

as a marble, you must navigate each environment, 3d platforming while hacking computers and

dodging lasers in order to reach your goal: cake!

The levels themselves are a mishmash of assets put together in such a way that is interesting

to see.

Random barrels, frogs, trains, and much more are placed seemingly at random throughout

the levels to create bizarre environments to roll through.

There is such a variety of objects present in each level to where I was always excited

to see what the next area would contain.

Despite the seemingly arbitrary placement of assets, there is a surprising amount of

cohesiveness to the game.

With the premise of the game, the abundance of pink and cool colors, some of the songs

sounding like they were ripped out of a magical girl anime, all add up to a game with a cute

aesthetic present throughout, but there's also a ton of surrealness as well with the

void each level takes place in, the giant skeleton that grabs you when you fall out

of bounds, and the random objects scattered about that clash with this categorization.

The strange environments are made even stranger considering how the player inhabits these

spaces: as a marble rolling through them to a goal.

The player's main interactions are jumping and rolling, encouraging them to explore the

levels fully to really take in all that is around them.

This is in addition to the collectables one can get such as new marble colors, records

that let you switch songs, and level warps in the form of cake cola cans.

*Happy Jingle*

Some of these collectables take the various objects around and use them as interesting

ways to hide these items, where one will be searching all over every stage to find everything.

If one just wants to reach the goal, they'll be dealing with hazards like lasers,

barriers that need hacking to take down, and bouncy pads!

Some levels really just let you have fun with the physics of the game, letting you jump

to incredible heights or roll at ridiculous speeds, something I love in any game that

lets me do it.

There's just something so enjoyable about testing the limits of a game's physics,

and in Celestial Hacker Girl Jessica, one can push them so far you can sometimes get

out of the game's skybox.

It's a plain joy, but when the player gets those wide overviews of the level as they

drift further and further away, displaying how most levels are just layouts of various

cubes and rectangular prisms, it reveals more than any part of the game how artificial its

construction is.

In any other game, this would break the illusion the game is trying to preserve that you are

actually in a world, but here, it allows one to appreciate how all these disparate assets

can come together to create an experience greater than the sum of its parts.

These objects weren't made for this purpose specifically, but by game's end, it'll

feel like they were meant for this game.

That's why Celestial Hacker Girl Jessica's greatest strength is that it was able to use

what it could find to create an identity all its own.

O.C. prosecutors to review 1979 slaying for ties to Golden State Killer - Duration: 3:33.

Orange County prosecutors agreed Wednesday to review a decades-old murder investigation after an attorney said she detected similarities to attacks by a notorious California serial killer

The district attorney's office agreed to review the conviction of William Evins in the killing of a 28-year-old woman in 1979 as part of a long-standing program that looks into old cases upon request

But the office said that it's too soon to tell where the review will lead and that the evidence will have to be examined to determine whether DNA testing is a possibility

Advertisement  Attorney Annee Della Donna, who runs the pro bono Innocence Rights of Orange County, said she made the request after detecting apparent similarities in the now-deceased Evins' case with those connected to the so-called Golden State Killer

Authorities in Northern California arrested former police officer Joseph DeAngelo, 72, in April and said they believe he is the killer who had long proved elusive to authorities

DeAngelo is charged with 12 killings throughout the state from the 1970s and 1980s, including one in Orange County in 1980

As a teen, Della Donna said, she was the victim of an abduction attempt and years later saw a sketch of the Golden State Killer suspect that she thought resembled her attacker

She started looking into rape and murder cases that had occurred nearby and came across Evins' case, she said

She said that she lived six blocks from victim Joan Anderson, 28, and that the way Anderson was killed bears similarities to cases involving the serial killer

She also said Evins, who died in 2013, pleaded guilty after a jailhouse informant said he had confessed to the crime

"We believe that this murder was another Golden State Killer case," she told reporters, adding that she had also contacted Sacramento County sheriff's officials and the FBI

"It's too early to tell if there's similarities or not," said Susan Kang Schroeder, chief of staff for the prosecutor's office

"We don't know."

From A Low And Quiet Sea | Review | Man Booker 2018 - Duration: 8:41.

You know when you wear a shirt that matches your aesthetically bland

background...? Hi my name's Matthew, and I read a book.

FROM A LOW AND QUET SEA by Donal Ryan has just been long listed for the Man

Booker Prize 2018, and I decided to read it for that reason. I was exciting about

this book, and I left disappointed. That's the short version of my review, but if

you would like to hear more just keep on watching this visually mayonnaise

experience. Now, I listened to the audiobook of this book, which I think was strike

one against me in terms of my experience. I saw the audiobook and noticed that it

was a full cast recording, and I got so excited, because normally that is like

100% what you want to listen to. Kind of a radio play--you know the things. And

instead, I got a really poorly produced, hard to hear, not-so-great audio book. If

you are an audiobook listener, do not do that for this book. It's rough. Yes, I did

like hearing all of the accents of the individual characters, but the audio

quality varies from person to person and the first character Farouk was so

difficult to hear--Not because of his accent, but because of the fact that he

didn't use consonants? and he spoke so quietly... so whenever I tried to turn the

volume up, I just got loud, blaring noise. But if it

was too quiet, I couldn't hear anything. It was so frustrating. That definitely

colored my experience of this book, so take everything that I say with a grain

of salt. However, I don't think what I'm about to say is invalid. FROM A LOW AND QUIET SEA

is a novel of perspectives, and we know from the beginning that we're

going to see how these perspectives start to intertwine. How we know this is

because we get, right off the bat, a beautiful description of how trees talk

to one another. This is the character Farouk, explaining how trees use their

roots in the earth and trees communicate with each other this way, and how the

soil exists, and it's all gorgeously written--utterly gorgeously written--and

when I see people praise this book, this is the one thing that people talk about.

They talk about very few other things with regard

this text. They really lean into the tree bit. The tree bit's maybe only three

minutes of the text entirely. So I do think there is something to be said

there. I think Donnell Ryan writes gorgeously

in certain sections. This, at the beginning, is one of them, and in a way it

sort of felt manipulative to me to get such a gorgeous introduction to be

followed by a really aggravating character. Farouk is a character who is nothing like

a tree. He wavers, he is unsteady, he will break, he is uprooted, he is a Syrian

refugee. Much of his inner narration is egotistical wish-fulfillment, and I do

think that Donal Ryan can craft a very bad character--bad humans with lots and

lots of flaws, but in this instance I didn't really see much justification for

him thinking the way that he did, especially under the dire circumstance

of fleeing a country. I was really curious about Donal Ryan's choice to

write a Syrian character into his book and whether or not he has written

characters outside of "Irish" before. He hasn't. In fact, John Boyne (Irish author

who I super love) in his review of this book in The Guardian said... "and so when

the opening section of from a low and quiet sea introduces its protagonist and

he has not named Seanie, Mick, or Paedar, but Farouk, readers will recognize

that Ryan has decided to try something a little different." I would like to just

throw in here that you, a white Irishman, do not get to laud a white Irishman for

writing a non-white character. That is not up for you to decide the success or

failure of that. Throw a dart at any Y.A. shelf and you will find characters

from all walks of life, from all over the world, well-crafted, own voices, etc. So, I

expect more from adult literary fiction. And whether or not John Boyne was praising

Donal Ryan for writing a non-white character is kind of up to you to

interpret through that article, but for me I was a little like "okay. Wow.

diversity. what a grand concept."

So, I do mention all of this side note because it

does lead me into addressing some of the writing flaws that I found with this

book. Donnell Ryan didn't have to write a

Syrian character. He didn't have to go into that experience because what he

does so cleverly and so aggravatingly instead is craft gorgeous

metaphors and parables and stories and side tangents that have nothing to do

with the main character's experience, and so you as a reader are lured into this

comfort of thinking "wow this writing's gorgeous! wow that is so profound!" when

really you were learning absolutely nothing about why this character is

justified in the way that he is behaving. Sure, you can do the work as a reader to

glean some of his behavior based off of the stories that he may tell or based on

the metaphors that are being used around his surrounding, but this isn't a close

first-person narration, so there's only so much that actually belongs to this

main character, and so for me it kind of seemed like a cop-out. It kind of seemed

like Donal Ryan not actually trying to write a character and instead writing

around that character and therefore exposing the fact that he didn't have a

character. The second perspective and the second short story, if you will, started

off great. We were in a true Irish voice. You had a lot of swearing and puns and

cuss words and profanities and I'm all for it because I love that crap, but

slowly you start to realize he's using some of the same tactics in this as

well. I progressively cared less and less about this character as well, and found

that this story could have ended so many times. I didn't need to hear the rest of

this character's life. I only needed to hear a little bit, and I could pretty

much deduce what the rest of this character's life was going to be like,

but instead, we had so many endings in this book. And this book is very, very

short, but it slugged. It slogged so much, because so many times I thought

sections were over. Really, I thinkDonal Ryan does himself a disservice by not

breaking up the passages more. We get a chunk of a character a chunk of a

character a chunk of a character as opposed to more interspliced character

perspectives, which I thought would be so much more successful and keep me far

more entertained. Because honestly, while yes, I do appreciate an in-depth

depiction of grief and guilt and anger and fear--I love all of those things--if

it's not an entertaining book, I don't care about what you have to say about

them. And for me, pretty metaphors/pretty parables could not mask the fact that

these characters weren't redeeming enough for me to enjoy

learning about their stories. Their stories, which were so minutely expressed

to the point of nothing.... I got so aggravated! I will say that the third

perspective did take a turn. I found that this character's emotional states were

really beautiful to track. It's because I think these metaphors were so closely

interwoven with the emotional states instead of circuitously surrounding

them. I found it to be a little bit better to read. Still though, this passage

also took forever and also could have ended in so many other spots. Dragging on

perspective after perspective, when it finally got to the point of the book

where we learn how all of these characters are interconnected, there were

hints throughout the text that you could have deduced they were very, very small

but when we finally got the very in-your-face

explanation of how all of these characters are related, it happened so

quickly the book suddenly wrapped up and it was over. This was so poorly paced. I

didn't care enough about all of these characters in this gratuitous set up to

begin with, to then be slapped in the face with an explanation of how they're

all together?? That doesn't excite me at all! And then it was over, and then I

rated this book 2 out of 5 stars. Two stars for a really, really pretty

word smithery and nothing else. I do have the feeling that this book will make the

shortlist this year because I didn't like it, and that's just the ether's way

of spiting me. I also do know a lot of people who loved this book, so I'm

turning it over to you now, and comment down below. Tell me all of your thoughts:

have you read this yet? do you want to read it? It's one of the shorter ones, so

I feel like it's going to be one of the most read, next to the graphic novel on

the list. So! I'm excited to start discussing. Otherwise, thank you so much

for watching, and I hope to see you soon.

Product review Held Sonic Airy Summer jacket by Rejoh - Duration: 4:09.

Hi MotoZoomers, my name is Rejoh, coming to you with a short review of the Held Sonic jacket...

and the matching Vento pants, also by Held.

I have been riding with it for 2 years now, as you can see, there are a few stains on it...

but I could not resist making a quick video video...

in this fantastic weather, because this jacket...

is truly amazing.

What is so nice about this jacket, is that it is the best airy summer...

jacket I ever had.

That is because of some fine features...

that Held has built in and those I'd like to show you real quick.

To start off, you would think that, with these ventilation panels and...

of course on the back too, you could not wish for anything more...

so I was a little surprised that Held built in...

their famous ventilation zipper into this jacket too, so a zipper...

behind the outside zipper, making the jacket open, but closed at the same time.

I thought to myself: "Why would they do that with all these ventilation panels?"...

but you will be flabbergasted!

When you open this, then even on these hot days...

you will get chilly once in a while, so this ventilation zipper...

really is amazing!

Wearing this while riding is really nice...

when you are hot and then you can still open up the outside zipper.

Of course the jacket has protection: on the elbows, on the shoulders...

by Sas-Tec, very comfortable!

In the back, they prepared...

a space for a back protector, a full back protector, that actually is...

a lot bigger than most standard small back protectors that are available...

for most airy jackets.

This one, which I will show you in a minute, protects your back...

from top to bottom and that is why the jacket feels super safe.

Alright, I will show you the inside of the jacket, so that you can see what I am talking about...

and... Hello! Hello! I'm here! Come on man! You can do that later.

Like I said before, this jacket has a big space for...

- first loosen up the zippers, that is why they are there! -

a very big back protector, as you can see from above the neck to...

the bottom and very broad, which is very different from most other jackets...

moreover, what I think is fantastic, is that there is...

3D mesh on it.

The 3D mesh makes sure that all of the air is being blown...

alongside your back, as opposed to other jackets, that have...

this kind of mesh only, and your back still will get sweaty and sticky when you get off the bike...

despite it being an airy jacket...

so that is what I like the most...

about this jacket.

This material is also used in the top of the...

pants, so at the bottom of your back, or just above your butt, you can...

keep it reasonably dry with these hot temperatures.

Furthermore, this jacket has...

a zipper all around the back, to connect it to the Vento pants...

or to other Held riding pants.

This is much more advanced than...

with other airy jackets in the market, that only have a short...

zipper.

With this one you can nicely close the gap...

which is important for your safety...

because in case of sliding over the road surface in a crash...

you don't want the jacket to slide up, so...

that is extra safety that this jacket offers through that zipper.

This was the review of the Held Sonic, I hope you got a good impression of it...

I am super satisfied with it and I can really recommend it to you!

Do not forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel and look underneath this video...

for the link to the Sonic Jacket.

You can order it online, get your money back for 365 days, no...

shipping costs, 2 years of warranty (within the Netherlands) and in our shops...
