As we promised, we found another world cuisine

This time, Peruvian cuisine!

Before we try out their food, we have owner of the restaurant

Danny right here

Could you tell us a little bit about the background and history of this restaurant?

Since when it was opened, what type of food you're serving?

Sure, sure

So, this place was already here

It was just a Peruvian chicken place.

We purchased it in January 2016.

We came out... and I am the owner and chef.

I have a partner, his name is Jorge, but unfortunately he couldn't be with us today.

And I completely changed the entire menu,

so the chicken recipe... we made it more authentic

We changed it up a bit... and then we added a lot of the

staple Peruvian dishes that you would enjoy in Peru.

I learned how to cook from my mother.

She learned from her mother. So a lot of the food you're gonna taste today

is handed down from generation to generation

Yeah it's like a family recipe

pretty much pretty much... So what I like to do is really...

I take passion in what I do

I love to cook... People told me you're a great cook

You know, and I went for it!

Jorge I knew for a while, so we kind of teamed up

and started this business.

It kind of shows in our food you know I like to

really put my heart and effort in every dish

you know that great staff back there, who really complements our mission.

We're gonna check out how Lomo Saltado is made

So this is Johnny, he's our head cook today.

He's gonna show us how to make Lomo Saltado.

This guy is better than me now!

Fire is gonna go into the actual pan

Red onions

Got a specific cut

They're all about the same size. Right.

These are Aji de Amarillo, which is yellow chili pepper.

Okay.

These are imported from Peru.

So after they cook the beef and all the seasoning

they just pour the beauty and the sauce right on top of the french fries

The rice... paired with stir-fried onions, tomatoes, cilantro and

a little of garlic in the beginning and beef.

I literally just got it from the chef Johnny

what the owner said... I'm gonna quote directly from him

He said, "This is simple, yet difficult."

It smells so fresh, of course it's fresh

ah hey it's a very commonly in or used spice in Peru it's a Peruvian chili

pepper they call it that heat I put a little bit on my longstaff hat on right

now and actually they use a little bit of the icy pepper

sauce is amazing guys this is purple McHenry I thought it's like grape juice

but no this is made of purple corn and pineapple guess what there's kinda

goodness and some sugar when it's low probably

I can taste cinnamon it's like absolutely fiber but you don't take the

the favor so if you like apple cider or cinnamon drink this drink to go with

think probably the same kind of sauce so what's so soft and tender the

fried seafood right here it's kaha a up with another commonly eaten Peruvian

dish and look at this look at this amount of seafood right here they were

squeezed like calamari fish and probably stroke and covered with sliced onions

cilantro is Peruvian corn and we squeeze some lime juice on it

I serve with tartar sauce and underneath this mix of seafood there's you cut on

the bottom so like french fries for there you cut the bottom like my first

life we try to eat calamari together with the tartar sauce

Missi Roti Recipe in Hindi - Besan ki Roti - Super Simple Masala Roti for Beginners by Lata Jain - Duration: 7:49.

Namaste, Welcome to Lata's Kitchen

Besan masala roti is a very tasty and healthy flatbread

Today I'm going to make besan masala roti or missi roti

For this we'll need

Here 1 cup = 250 ml

Wheat flour - 3/4 cup

Gram flour - 3/4 cup

Salt - 3/4 tsp, adjust to taste

Black cumin seeds - 1/4 tsp

Carom Seeds - 1/4 tsp

Asafoetida - 2 pinch

Dry Fenugreek leaves - 2 tsp

Ground Fennel seeds powdered - 1 tsp

Green chilly chopped - 2

Cilantro - 2 tbsp

Clarified butter or normal butter for applying over roti

Oil - 2 tsp

Water for kneading

Dry flour for rolling the roti

lets start making missi roti

First we'll prepare dough for roti

Take wheat flour and gram flour in a large plate

Add salt and all the spices

Mix well

knead it into a dough with water

Add little water at a time

dough should neither be too hard nor too soft

Press with your fist and smooth the dough

It will make the Roti softer

It took less than half cup of water

Apply a little oil

Cover it and let it rest for 10 minutes

Its been 10 minutes let's check the dough

Now make balls of this dough

Apply some dry floor on the fingers, take some dough, apply dry floor over it and roll it into a ball

Similarly make all the balls

It has made 8 balls

Cover them

Heater Skillet over the gas

Take a dough ball and apply dry flour over it

Roll it into 5-6 inch diameter circle

Roll it light handedly

This Roti should not be very thin

Skillet is heated, wipe it with a cloth or paper napkin

Flip the roti like this to remove extra dry floor

Place it on the Skillet

Its colour has changed on the above, now flip it

Keep the gas on medium

We can see brown colour spots on the lower side

Turn gas too low and remove Skillet from the gas

Roast it on the gas flame using a tank

heat should be low

Make sure to roast the edges also

Roti is done place the Skillet over the heat

Apply some butter or clarified butter over roti

You can have it without butter also

Similarly make all the soti

You can serve it with any gravy based dish like palak paneer, saag or makhani dal

You can have it in lunch or dinner as bread

You can pack it in lunch box also
